20 Best White Paint Pen (2022 Updated)

This is a great quality paint pen, definitely a professional standard product. There’s many useful purposes for these paint pens, some of which might include rock painting art (vivid colors and fine application).

There’s an old saying that you get what you pay for and this product is iconic of such metaphor. It may cost a little more but the professional results certainly demonstrate it’s worth the nominal investment.

I love this marker. Is there more colors of same type of marker? I would love to get colored markers like this too!

Works great! You need to shake it up, and you might need to use a couple of layers for good coverage, but great for small or narrow areas.

The tip in the photo looks sharper than the 2. 0mm tip on the actual pen. It is actually a rounded hard tip which did not suit my application well. The colour was very good however and dried quickly.

The ink came out after a few pumps and was able to be applied consistently without effort. A good Sakura product as you would expect but it didn’t suit my needs. If you are looking for an alternative, I also tried a zig metallic brush.

This was much more versatile than the Sakura pen.

I use it on the detail parts of my outdoor ceramic sculptures. The marker holds up to the rain and the sun. The color glides on smoothly over the paint and it does not clog up. If I make a mistake, I can use acrylic paint to hide the marker and use the marker again.

The pen does not dry out as quickly when I use it as other brands that I have used. It works even when I use it upside down. I highly recommend it.

I bought these paint markers because I trust the brand. These were not worth the money. The white markers do not draw clear clean lines. You have to constantly shake and even when you do it doesn’t roll on the paper smoothly.

I like to use these markers for highlights and it did not work, I had to out a puddle of paint on a paper and use a paint brush, it kind of defeats the purpose.

Sharpie makes excellent products. My problem with the Sharpie Oil-Based Paint Marker was with the Ultra-Fine Point. The Fine Point works fine. Thus, to be fair, I gave this a 3-Star Rating based on the average of the two different sized pointed markers I used.

One Star for the Ultra-Fine and Five Star for the Fine point. The Ultra-Fine Point issue is that the cylinder’s felted diameter is so fine, the oil paint has a difficult time getting through the cylinder.

After failing to make it work correctly, I visited many forums searching for answers. Thinking that the marker may have been sitting for some time and the tip was clogged for some reason, I cleaned the felt in the cylinder by soaking it with artist quality turpentine.

It did not help. I adhered to the directions on shaking the marker and tapping it gently on paper to promote the paint to soak down to the tip, but instead I got blotting. I did not give up that easily.

I tried again a half a dozen times, but to no avail. Never before or after the turpentine cleaning was I able to pull paint down to the tip. Blick was very efficient and gracious in replacing the markers with Fine Point Markers upon my request.

Again, I believe Sharpie makes excellent products, but if you do purchase these oil-based paint markers, my suggestion is to use no use no finer than the Fine Point if consistency and usability is a concern.

I use the Fine Point to sign all my oil paintings and each fine point works admirably. I hope this information helps you in making a solid and confident purchase. All my best. Scottie G.

Can’t get the white pen to work. It either has no color and is just the oil or it explodes all over everything. I just wanted it for highlights but it has ruined multiple art pieces by get puddles of white paint everywhere.

Not sure if I just got a dud or what, but I have to throw it away even though I only just bought it.

I love the oil based sharpies for outlining artwork (canvas and wood mostly). These color are great and leave a strong line. The white leaves a bit to be desired. No matter how much shaking it never comes out with a solid impression.

It tends to dry almost transparent. Having said that, I would buy this pack again for the other colors and black. Overall I’m very pleased.

I love all of the DecoColor paint pens that I’ve used. They are honestly my go to. They work on everything (canvas, glass, and wood), they hold up well, and they cover nicely. Even look good on my wine bottle lights!.

Perfect for embellishments and touch ups to fluid art. Also works well for signatures on acrylic paintings and projects.

I absolutely love these markers! The colors included in the set were perfect for my project. I used them to draw on my husbands PS5 and customize it! The colors were super vibrant and looked amazing together.

There were also super easy to work with. This was my first time ever using them and I was somewhat worried being that often times markers leave odd line textures, but I was able to learn how to use these really fast and got the exact result that I wanted.

I will definitely be buying them again and finding projects to use them with! POSCA has amazing reviews and tons of recommendations from so many artist, and they did not disappoint!.

I’m a beginner in water coloring and doodling. I bought my first uni posca pens white and gold and loving them because of how the ink looks nicely over watercolor and also use it as a coloring pen. The problem I had as a first time uni posca pen user was I didn’t know how to correctly make the pens work when I opened them.

Both colors were not working so I followed the the illustrated instructions on the body of pens but still didn’t work so I decided to go back to Michael’s and exhange them. If someone showed me how to make them work by patiently shaking and gently pressing the tip of pen on paper until the ink comes down on tip of pen I wouldn’t have had to exchange them.

Hope this would help someone. After all the pens are great and Michael’s is awesome!.

Got these during a sale. I tried the black 3m and 1m out on my polymer clay, sculpey. And it works! I tested using already baked clay. First piece, I let it sit overnight with paint on it. Next day, I applied the varnish and it still smeared the black paint.

Second piece, after applying paint, I rebaked in the oven for 10 min. Let it cool down. Then applied varnish. Paint DID NOT SMEAR this time. I even applied the varnish light and heavy. Paint stayed intact.

So the trick is to rebake the clay after painting. I put wax paper under mine just in case (I use tiles for baking).

This marker has a defective nib. I never had this experience before. I decided to try Juice Paint markers due to the good reviews. There is paint in the marker but it can’t pass through the nib properly.

I shook and primed them. The puddle of paint that came out was not opaque. Must be a defective batch.

Fantastic marker! sometimes doesnt write quite as well on buckets, and ive never used paint markers before so I dont know if this is typical, but the tip comes out incredibly easy. Ethanol proof as long as you dont rub it off while wet!.

I tried one Pilot Juice Paint Marker as a test, then bought a bunch more. I really like the opacity of the ink: very even and full coverage.

Bought it to enhance the weather faded lettering on a family grave. Had to ask for help on how to get the ink to flow but it worked very well after that. Nib is tough enough to work on rough stone and final result was good.

Saved me a lot of money. Now using it on all sorts of things around the home e. g. waste bins, etc.

I purchased this paint pen to use on tyre walls. Good quality pen with nice colour choices. It lasted about 3 months before it needed touching up which is good in my book. Brought another one as happy with quality.

As an artist I love the control you can have with a pen but its rare and difficult to get an even colour. These pens offer this the result being a far more professional looking end product. Caveat to start the paint flowing you either dent the nib or you sweater and make a mess, do it gently and slowly.

These are the best paint markers I have tried! I got these to do hand lettering on acrylic and it always comes out super clear and white. It doesn’t leave streaks and is easy to write with. I have not had an issue with its exploding all over the place, like I’ve heard about some other pens.

It doesn’t come off when you touch it or put water on it, but can easily be removed with alcohol. So worth the price!.

I bought this thinking it would be better than other paint pens I’ve used in the past. I followed the instructions exactly upon opening (shake with cap on, hold upright and prime nib to stimulate paint flow, press nib on surface to bring paint down, press lightly when using, etc).

It worked awesome at first, and I was like, “wow, finally, a pain pen that lives up to its name!” I was going along, happily outlining my design, and got about 2/3 of the way through my project (which wasn’t even that large – seriously, it was a design on a rock about 3″ in diameter) before the thing just stopped writing.

It was like it just dried up suddenly. No paint was coming out. So I put the cap back on, shook it gently, pressed the nib again, and was subsequently covered in paint. Paint flowed out of the pen, all over my hands.

Luckily I wasn’t anywhere near my project because I’d have been quite upset it it had spilled on that. But yeah, not impressed.

I bought this one along with a black one by accident. The black pen looks exactly like the white pen and wish they were distinguished better. The pen is great, unless you want to do very fine lines and you kinda have to put pressure on the pen in order to get the ink out, which is kind of annoying.

I won’t be returning but these are things I would keep in mind of.

These markers function well in most situations. They do struggle a bit when trying to write on metal after UT thickness readings (wet couplant surface). I have to go back to use the Diagraph GP-X Classic for that application, but these are a great value for everything else.

Marker is fine. However I only received one, not the dozen quantity. Unable to get correct quantity thru Home Essentials Direct/seller.

I’ve tried several other brands and types of paint markers to identify our parts (metal, aluminum, bronze, plastic, etc. ) and the Uni brand by far is the best quality. These paint markers, write on slippery surfaces and don’t smear off after they dry.

It makes the legible for labeling of many that were difficult to label before.

We were actually looking for a different brand but it was sold out. We needed them right away so we went with this alternative. They work great!

The colors are vibrant and keep their colors after extended use. We like the different colors and how they work well. The medium point is also great and they are easy to use.

This Astro Pneumatic rivet nut kit is a quality tool at a reasonable price. The kit includes an assortment of both SAE and metric tools. I recommend this kit.

I purchased several sharpie paint markers but decided to give the Uni one a try because I was looking for a particular color that sharpie didn’t have. The sharpies work as expected and the flow of paint is perfect and predictable.

With the Uni, the paint flow is all over the place and leaves puddles if you’re trying to do any fine work. Stopped using and went with the Sharpie. Would not recommend this brand.

The Uni PX-20 medium green marker is long lasting and does an outstanding job. I use it to QC Mark fasteners for proper torque on my job. It does not leak and last a long time. It’s the best marker and most economical for my needs.

Also needing this specific color Staples made it easy and quick to get at the best price. I recommend this product.

Pen is easy to use once paint in flowing. More pressure = more ink = more mistakes. Artist must understand this item before use but is was perfect for my project.

This set has a lot of beautiful shades of colors in it that are perfect for coloring and other art projects. I also use mine to write on my families white board calendar to keep track of important dates and our chore chart for the kids to keep track of their daily chores.

Everyone chooses a color so there’s no confusion. They make great markers for the coloring that I do that helps me relieve stress and anxiety. These markers don’t bleed through the paper and they leave no mess on my hands when my skin touches the surface I’ve just used them on.

They are also fast drying which is really handy when I’m in a hurry writing out stuff. The fine tip points are great as well to get fine lines when I’m drawing or coloring and make it easy to write small on boards.

This is really a great set of markers for anyone who needs a wide variety of colors.

Love using sharpies! They are convenient for absolutely everything. I take them to the research lab with me so I can easily label test tubes and plates, whereas my boyfriend always has a few on his work uniform because he works in the kitchen and uses the sharpies to label food.

I am obsessed with writing tools, such as pens, pencils, and markers. I work in an office setting so I write on a daily basis for 8 hours a day. I take a lot of personal notes and reminders, so I love to be able to write those in fun different colors since it’s just for me anyways.

I also sometime doodle while im on the phone on hold to pass the time. These are such a pretty color and glide so smooth across the paper. Ive colored on my notebook, and also wrote a few pages with them so far as well.

They are the sharpie brand that we know and love, but they don’t bleed through to the back of the paper on to the next page. They are fine tipped, so they work perfect to write with and do small detailed work.

I love the pastel colors, and they are shiny too so its a bonus.

of course bullet tip are the industry standard and the preferred option for most whiteboard users, however a the real tragedy of this whiteboardwashing is the total marginalisation of chisel tip from the marketplace.

I was unable to find chisel in any high street retailers and their place here on Amazon is little assured. In fact, some bullet tip are being erroneously sold as chisel which, along with fake news, represents a genuinely socially damaging problem.

My board handwriting is pretty illegible wiyh bullet tip and this was really impacting progress for many of my learners. With school budgets as they are the procurement department were utterly unsuitable to meet the task of finding chisel tip markers for my classroom.

To this end, the marketplace vendor in this instance may claim to have improved the learning of up to 90 students in my current cohort. Delivery was swift and product was reasonably priced, however only four stars due to the inclusion of yellow, an utterly bemusing choice for the classic white board.

I really like these, the tips are just the right size and shape for my style of writing, you can get a different version with rounded tips. Ive got about 3 packs on my desk at work and people always want to use them over the stuff we have bought from elsewhere.

Theyre more expensive than the packs I had previously bought from a local supermarket but no one everyones to borrow those which speaks volumes about how much better these are. Its a huge bonus that you can refill them.

although Im struggling to find the refill bottles in all the colours.

I bought this to put festive drawings on my windows. This pen was quite chunky so hard to draw on fine details but it went on well and came off again easily weeks later. I was happy enough with it that I bought a couple of the finer ones for a friend and their kids.

I LOVE these markers! The tip (if used gently) makes a super fine, non-feathering line, and the ink is SO opaque. That’s honestly the biggest selling point for me – this is truly an opaque, chrome silver marker.

I also have this in gold and copper – they are all amazing. I use them for coloring with marker & colored pencil, over watercolors, and in my bullet journal and Hobonichi Cousin. My only gripe is that they do run out quickly with consistent use, so I’ve taken to ordering two at a time so I always have one on hand!.

I use these to edge my resin work. Coverage is wonderful. Paint comes out nicely. Very smooth with a nice finish. Color is exactly what I was looking for. My other one was more yellow. Sakura makes this the perfect gold.

I really like these sharpie markers because I use them on a regular basis. I sometimes have issues with caps and lids due to my strength. These are very helpful because the markers are retractable. I don’t have to worry about my cap being too hard to remove to use the marker.

I use these on a regular basis. The markers do not dry out. That was one of my worries using this set. Since I use them all the time, I want to make sure they do not prematurely dry out. They do the job very well.

I like the size of the tip, it works for all my crafting needs. I also use these for homeschooling as well. I like the multiple uses of these markers and will continue to use these until they dry out.

I needed a marker to write on some silicone pop its for centers in my classroom. Sharpie markers rub off so I was told to try paint markers. These work great and have not rubbed off the silicone.

Love this marker! You could make a really fine line by barely pressing or a darker line that is very clear and precise. No smell and seems a lot less toxic than some markers.

I used this paint marker for the vine of a large porch post project. I had no idea it cannot be sealed with ANYTHING, it smears if you brush something on it and will remain sticky, even with spray sealant.

Nowhere on the marker does it indicate that. Do not use if you plan to try to seal it!.

This is exactly what I wanted — an old-fashioned black magic marker with a wide tip. I used it to camouflage a couple of nicks on the black wooden arm of a chair. Such a simple item was not so simple to find.

Love these paint markers. #Uchida markers glide smooth, are vibrant colored and the perfect tip. Also, a little goes a long way. I don’t have to constantly shake the marker and each line is a brilliant color so no overlaying.

I would definitely recommend for island rocks but I also use for other craft projects as well.

I have been hunting these paint markers for a long time. They are ideal for writing the voltage, current and equipment they are used by. This makes it easier to find a power supply for devices which arrive without one.

This is the EDDING 751 which I have been trying to buy for months and eventually ended up buying here a pack of 10. Ive spent a stupid amount of money trying to find a white pen that covers properly I use it in my illustrations on top of inks and watercolour and havent tried it out for anything else but it is the best opaque white I have come up with.

I hated these markers. Put your money towards a name brand water based acrylic marker. Not these. I painted on wood, primer, and canvas. All of these were streaky, but you cannot color over them again or they lift the original color layer.

I regret the time and money spent on these and wish I had put my money to the more expensive brands whose names I recognized as quality. Getting them started was fine. About the same as any other marker.

But the black dropped paint in giant bubbly blobs after I capped the marker and came back to use it not even 10 minutes later. The Blue is a streaky, dried out mess after less than 10 minutes. I didn’t even use these markers for 10 full minutes.

I got them flowing. Put down a single layer coat of about 2″x2″ and let that coat dry, so I put on the cap and set the markers aside until the coat was dry. I would say 10 mins later tops. And the blue and black markers were suddenly unusable for the aforementioned issues.

VERY disappointing and frustrating.

We use these acrylic paint markers to paint faces on pumpkins at our family pumpkin patch. They are the best acrylic markers out there! They are easy to use (sometimes they do need some extra “pumping” to get them primed) and go one smoothly.

Watch out because occasionally they can get a little goopy (especially the metallic ones), but that doesn’t happen often and you can spot when it’s about to get goopy. Even so, these are the best and only acrylic markers we use to paint pumpkins at our business every October!.

I saw some reviews (after I purchased) that you couldn’t varnish over these. I signed some paintings before I varnished, and some after with the white marker because people seemed to not smudge as much with that.

It was easy! I just let it dry for about a week and it looks perfect! I love these for signing my work!.
