20 Best Whole Foods Soups (2022 Updated)

I’ve tried many so called healthy canned soups and seem to always be very disappointed. I just tried this chicken and rice low sodium soup and was pleasantly surprised. I can’t have too much salt since I have high blood pressure and the no salt soups are very bland.

This soup has 85 mg. in a cup which is extremely lower than the average 700 mg in most soups. I can not understand why more companies don’t make a low salt soup. I have tried a few that are around 350mg but that is still too high.

There are many people who are in the same boat as me. Thank you for producing a great product that I can feel at ease eating!.

I am NOT on a low sodium diet. I just hate that most canned or bottled soups are WAY TOO SALTY. This is PERFECT. The same as when I make organic chicken noodle soup at home. I do NOT add tons of salt.

Read the labels of ALL the other organic and non organic soups out there. They are LOADED with salt and ALL taste like salt water to me. This tastes like HOMEMEAD soup. Just right in the salt department and it has a nice taste.

I really love this soup and how tasty it is. The noodles are my favorite which makes this even more amazing. They are those spiral ones that are tender and actually to me they absorb a lot of flavor.

I love how there is carrots and peas in it, I have never had peas in my soup before so that was very interesting. Great for those looking for protein since it has 13g if you eat the whole can. I ate some while having an upset stomach and it actually made me feel better.

Perfect for everyday or if you are feeling under the weather.

I absolutely love this organic chicken noodle soup!! It tastes so good on those chilly nights! It has just the right amount of seasoning in it so you can just warm it up and eat it! I love how easy it is to fix also! Great for those nights when you just don’t feel like cooking a big meal!! I love that it’s organic also! Highly recommend!!.

This soup was very good! I unfortunately have come down with the flu and it really went down well! It is full of flavor and very filling. I like the clean ingredients that are in the soup and this is a great choice if you are sick or if it’s cold outside.

I would definitely prefer it over other brands. I would highly recommend this soup!.

I’ve been enjoying Amy’s Minestrone for years. I add a bit of chicken bone broth to it to give it a bit more nutritional punch. I ordered 12 cans, given Walmart’s excellent pricing. But the taste of this lot number if off.

I threw out one can and opened another. Exact same ‘off’ flavor. Then I found an older can in my cupboard. Opened and tasted that one. The usual, good flavor. I’m going to take the remaining 10 cans back to Walmart for a refund/replacement.

I will also reach out to Amy’s with the information on the lot number. I trust that this is a one-off and that I’ll be able to enjoy the soup again in the future. I trust the Amy’s brand overall. I will order again from Walmart when I’m sure they have a new lot number.

is actually my absolute favorite soup that I’ve ever tasted from a can. I always have this in my pantry. It not only tastes so yummy, but it reminds me of a similar homemade soup at a popular restaurant.

With every bite, it’s so savory and it’s not too chunky, but just the right texture. I have often paired this with a grilled cheese sandwich. Not only is this healthier cleaner eating with organic ingredients, but it’s lower in salt intake as well, and I promise you won’t miss the reduction in sodium! 😋.

This soup is delicious and also gluten and soy free. I buy it here to save money. The store price gouges enormously. The bad part is that these cans are shipped separated, unsecured and thrown into the box to slam around during transit.

I order 12 or 24 at a time. so they ought to be shipped as a secured case. NOPE. I take the chance still ordering here because customer service is good. It’s a hassle when cans are badly dented and smashed open, but I was able to get a refund to buy more.

Honestly, for canned soup, it’s awesome. We have had some Amy’s soups that are unfortunately too oily and give us all reflux but that is Not the case with this soup. It’s absolutely perfect when I need a little side or even use this soup as the main course with side of vegetables and fruit.

We are always super busy, so this mere can of soup comes in so handy. It tastes great too- it doesnt have the typical canned soup taste, I think because the lentils help soften that flavor. It is very lentil and potato forward.

Side Note- I have esophagitis and it doesn’t trigger my symptoms when I have it every so often. Not applicable to everyone, but I know there is a growing number of people like me.

Loved it! I first had this Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato soup 6 years ago at my son & daughter-in-law home in Washington State. I was very skeptical because it said organic. I absolutely fell in love with this soup.

I now live in Arizona and even it it in the summer when it’s 115°outside. I did overed ordering this delicious soup by the case. I was raised on Campbell Soup but a few years ago they changed their recipe for all their soups and NOT FOR THE BETTER.

I threw away unopened cans because I could not eat the fake soup. I will never not buy Pacific Soups & etc unless they stopped making “my” soup. I’ve given cartons of the soup to friends and they always love it.

Honestly, I am surprised that I don’t turn red because I have had a bowl everyday for the past year and I never get tired of it. Like the others have said a grilled cheese sandwich or sour bread goes great with the soup.

My little granddaughters love the soup but not quite as much as grams;).

I don’t buy soup in a carton so this is something different for me, completely unsure if I will like it but here goes. I’m trying Pacific Foods Organic Creamy Tomato soup in a 32 ounce carton. Says it is equivalent to 4 serving sizes and 110 calories per serving.

Reading the package it says shake well heat and serve, so no adding milk or water that’s a plus from the condensed canned tomato soup I usually buy. Very simple so I shake it and pour into a microwave safe cup an d proceed to heat for just a cup to try it out.

It’s ready here we go just right the right temperature too, first taste very rich and creamy and something else what is it? Another spoonful mmm very good ahh I taste cheese is there cheese in this? Looking at the ingredients there is cheese flavor in this tomato soup – from real cheese and it’s gluten free.

It does have sugar in it but it’s cane sugar that’s better than high fructose corn syrup. Overall a very nice flavorful rich and creamy soup with no fussing around just shake heat and eat. By the cup or bowl with alone or with a sandwich this is definitely a soup I would and will choose.

I have found a new way to do soup that I never noticed before. I definitely recommend this product!.

Soup is delicious, but why were 8 cans delivered in a box 26” x 19” x 5. 25”” ? It was difficult to handle such a big box. You need to realize that many of your customers are seniors and to handle such a big box would be difficult for anyone!!!! We have bought 8 cans before and they were delivered in a small plastic bag or a small box that held 6 cans plus the other two were deliver in a small bag.

Also it is very difficult to see exactly what was ordered by me; I think some things were doubled ordered— which I hope I didn’t do!!!! Anyway, ordering was much easier to do in the past!!! Again, all varieties of Amy’s soups are delicious!!.

I hate this soup. I haven’t eaten soup in four years. I decided to try this one, mistake. It lacks any coconut flavor. It tastes like if you took lukewarm, the concept, and then juiced it. It’s the consistency of water.

Imagine if someone boiled potato water and then added a whisper of nutmeg. That is this soup.

Delicious Amy’s soup! The coconut base of this soup is absolutely wonderful. The vegetables are pieces are also very good and taste almost fresh given it is canned. I had to deduct 1 star due to the amount of vegetables was a bit scarce.

Overall I definitely recommend giving this soup a try! It’s also vegan and gluten-free!.

This soup is so underwhelming. For the price, was expecting a soup that had a lot of substance, lots of sweet potato, chunks of tofu, and lots of a mushrooms. This is actually just a broth with an odd sliver of vegetable every now and again.

Also, has no flavor of coconut whatsoever.

This is probably the best canned soup I have ever eaten. My next order will include 5 cans of it because of that. Will do my best to keep the pantry stocked with it. Overall, I’m not a fan of soups but this soup has changed that.

Delish! I love any flavor of soup Amy’s Kitchen has to offer. It’s full of chunky, flavorful ingredients versus other brands that are just watery and depressing. I’m a repeat buyer of these soups, they’re all good, be adventurous, I recommend trying them all.

Worth the money. Don’t think Amy’s could get any more vegetable into their soup can. Hearty and then some. Sticks to your ribs–not your belly. Terminal overload on good and good for you.

My wife and I are trying to adjust our lifestyle to include healthier choices. We attempt to go organic as much as possible. However being for the Deep South and used to flavorful foods, this transition to greener healthier life has been a challenge.

That’s why we chose to try this organic chicken soup. Man were we delighted. The flavor was amazing, the price affordable and our new life direction. Pleased! Highly recommend trying this wonderful, did I mention healthy/tasty chicken soup.

We cook a lot, but always keep a few “shortcuts” in the pantry. This organic Cream of Chicken might become one of these staples. Good texture, fine flavor, great value for the money. We tried it just as a soup, and while it is tasty, it lacks some “oomph”, so to speak.

However, it is absolutely delicious if enhanced or used as part of a stew. It brings a lot of umami and elevates the dish you are cooking to another level. We used about a third of can at a time, so it goes a long way.

The list of ingredients is very impressive and looks very healthy. Very pleased we tried it, will definitely buy again,.

I have been using Pacific organic for years instead of cream of chicken from the other red label can for good ingredients. The taste is fantastic and much healthier choice. But getting it delivered to me in good condition is not easy.

My target stores near me are never in stock of items I need and so I stock up whenever I can. But Target does not ship items well and it gets delivered always, mangled, torn and/or leaking. This was no exception, all of my cans were completely useless.

I order them in bulk for a reason. If you put them in a box without any protection, what do you expect to happen. Sad.

I used this product to make some Carrot Ginger risotto. Mixed with some white wine, broth and finished with a pat of butter, it turned out pretty good! I meant to top it with some raw pepitas and dried cranberries, but I had a meeting to attend, so my husband finished up adding the liquid and served himself, and I unfortunately didn’t get to have any until the next day.

Big boo there! My biggest gripe about this soup is that it has a good amount of added cane sugar. The main ingredients (carrots and coconut milk) are both fairly sweet, and would easily have melded well with the flavor profile of honey or another unprocessed sweetener.

Using a more natural sweetener also seems to fit better with what Pacific Foods tends to shoot for with its foods in general, Otherwise, the taste was good, I think the texture could’ve done with a bit more thickening (perhaps some sweet potato in there for the sweetness and thickening as well?) to make the bisque feel more unctuous while still keeping it plant based.

After trying this soup, I’ve been extremely impressed! The first thing I love about this soup is how fresh it tastes. Upon taking my first bite of this soup, I felt like I was transported back into my mom’s kitchen on a rainy day.

The soup tastes completely natural. I can’t even really tell that this is store-bought soup. Another notable feature about this soup that I’ve really enjoyed is how smooth it is. I find it quite annoying when soup is either too runny or too pasty/thick.

This soup is the perfect medium texture. Another noteworthy feature about this soup is how quickly it warms up. After dumping some into a sauce pan, the soup was piping hot and ready to eat within a couple of minutes.

I also really like the touch of red pepper in this soup as it adds an extra abundance of flavor. A final advantage to this soup that I’ve really appreciated is how healthy it is! I’m able to eat as much of this soup as I desire without ever feeling guilty, thanks to its low-calorie content.

Overall, I’ve been extremely pleased with this soup and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, fresh, healthy meal that can be prepared within minutes.

Would give this a 0, if possible. Was so disappointed. My husband who will eat anything, absolutely refused to eat this !!! Most unappetizing bowl of soup imaginable. Looked totally murky and brown with bits of red here and there (peppers, would guess).

Just the visual discouraged tasting. I did eat a very small bowl; the flavors were as murky and muddy as the appearance. I put my husbands uneaten bowl outside for the varmints; we have a variety. They wouldn’t eat it either.

Had to toss it; I hate wasting food. Going to give the second box to our vegan friends for their opinion, for the above mentioned is just an OPINION and others might find this soup very good. Surely will not consider purchasing again for us.

I really like that Pacific does not used cans for their soup, and instead uses a more natural packaging (based off of what they advertise). The veggie quinoa soup is delicious and perfect for a night when I need a quick comfort food.

The soup has a lower sodium count than many other grocery store soups, however, it also doesn’t have a super strong flavor. it is a bit bland. Would still recommend.

The only thing that was a turn off is that the packet may have sat there for a long time – the powder was solid and needs a fair bit of spoon action to mix it in. But that is minor, this soup was one of two favourites out of a whole lot I purchase to try out – recommended.
