20 Best Whole House Deodorizer (2022 Updated)

After 5 minutes of searching, I cant find the ingredients on this posting, all it says is what’s not in them. Set out several, after a few days one cat completely congested and the another started sneezing.

Finally occurred to me that it might be these air fresheners. So I put them all away and the sneezing stopped. Anecdotal, but just posting in case anyone else had same problem. I couldn’t smell them after a few days, but that’s what I was after.

Didn’t use them long enough to comment on quality.

I’ve bought 3 including Lavender and Orange smells. The first one was overall good and I had it till the end. The second one smelled good for a couple weeks and it started to give kind of stinking smell in the air.

In the end I had to throw it away when it was still half full. The third one is the same smelling good for a couple of weeks and then turn into some very unpleasant odor and I had to threw it away. Experiences of two are sufficient for me to draw a conclusion not to buy again.

My sense of smell is horrible and it always has been. I can’t really tell if something smells unless the scent is extremely strong. This is both a blessing and a curse when I live alone with 4 cats. I normally can’t smell the dirty litter boxes until they are very dirty but for that same reason, I can’t tell on my own when they only smell a slight bit before I have visitors over.

I decided to try this to help out since I’ve never tried this kind of air freshener before. And my 4 cats like to get in to anything and everything. I opened 1 can and set it on the counter a few feet away from the litter box area.

About 2 weeks later my mom visited my house and I asked her about the smell. She did say it didn’t seem as bad as it sometimes is. So I think it is helping! But the great this is that my 4 curious cats couldn’t care less about these things! I guess the cans are too big for them to get any joy from knocking off the counter because they never try.

The openings at the top are too small to fit paws in. The scent doesn’t drive them away but it doesn’t entice them either. None of them care about these things sitting around the house. They all have absolutely no interest in them whatsoever! I don’t know how much these things help with the odors in my house, but I know they aren’t hurting anything.

And they’re not very expensive to replace every other month so I plan to continue using them! UPDATE: I’m nearing the end of the 60-day period with having 2 of these set out. When my mom was visiting a few days ago she said that there is definitely a noticeable difference between the way my house smelled before I tried these and how my house smells now.

I will definitely be purchasing more to continue using in my home!.

My feelings on this Citrus Magic Holiday Odor Absorbing Solid Air Freshener has been on a rollercoaster. When I first starting using this, the smell was so strong I thought that I was going to have to get rid of it.

I gave it more time and it did well for about a week until the scent went to only smelling when you’re close to it. However, the area that I put it in is an area that has always kept a little musty smell to it.

Since I’ve started using this air freshener, I’ve noticed that the smell is no longer there – which is a win in my book. So even though I have mixed feelings about how the smell of the actual peppermint is, I absolutely love the fact that the musty odor seems to be gone – which was the purpose of this Citrus Magic air freshener.

For that reason alone, I would recommend this product!.

Citrus Magic is a great Air freshener. This peppermint one has an amazing smell. I like the little hints of vanilla as well as the wonderful smell of peppermint. It is so easy to use. Just pull off the sticky paper on the top and it can set up anywhere you would like to freshen up the smell.

I like that it covers 100 square feet so it is great for any room in the house. I like to use it in the bathroom because it makes it smell so warm and fresh. The aroma is not super overpowering but you can for sure smell it.

Mine smells in the bathroom and out into the hallway so I get a wiff every time I walk by. This is a home for the holidays fragrance and I truly think about the holidays every time I smell it.

I’m a little torn with product and this is why. when you first peel the sticker back and open it you are hit in the face with a pretty over powering peppermint smell, I wondered would it be too strong.

Well this is the thing that only last maybe 30 mins and then. nothing, like I don’t smell anything no peppermint just nothing, but the reason I still have it 4 stars is because we have 3 dogs and sometimes when they come in from outside the living room has sort of a dog smell.

I know longer smell that at all! So it defiantly eliminates odors, but as far as being peppermint scented I just can’t snell that anymore. I would like to note that we have a fairly small living room so it isn’t as if it is a huge room and that’s why I can’t smell it.

I didn’t expect it to eliminate odors as well as it is so if your looking for something to make your room smell good I don’t know how long the smell will actually last seeing as if I can’t smell it anymore, but if you looking to get rid of odors then absolutely get one of these!.

if left in one place for some time, they can mar the finish on furniture. I’ve taken to placing little self-sticking felt pads on the feet of these kinds of appliances.

I have a lot of issues with pet odors in my home due to two elderly dogs and a kitty litter box. This device works really well to remove odors from the air. It’s not silent, but the amount of noise is not bad at all.

Also, don’t expect it to remove odors from carpets and upholstery – you’ll need something stronger for that. It does a very good job of removing odors from the air.

This unit far outperforms my initial expectations. I set it up in my bedroom a 14 x 12 area. I smoke only in that room and purchased this item to help clear the air. It works incredibly well. Because the room is larger than recommended I use a small fan as well to help move air around.

After about 15 minutes after smoking, there is not a hint of tobacco smell in the air. The unit is super quiet in fact my personal sized fan is louder on high. I plan on purchasing a second unit to place in my living area because although I don’t smoke in there, the air does get stuffy.

I’d like to point out that I’m sold on using the Laundress detergents (wool, delicates, standard), brushes (stain remover, sweater brush), laundry bags, and more.

I’ve given FIVE stars for each of the other products. I noticed there is a pine-scented spray that I’m going to try in the future. Our home has pine-scented candles everywhere so it seems like a better fit.

Unfortunately, I just missed the holiday offer of the pine spray with a purchase, my gigantic purchase was one day before the holiday sale. Maybe next time.

In the late 80s there was this new thing called body wash – people laughed at it and yet, 30 years later, do you know anyone under 80 that uses bar soap in the shower? OK, this is on par with the body wash.

I detest air refresheners because of the cloying smell and well, it doesnt do anything but mask. If you have a bad house smell (like fish or other cooking smell) definitely spray the scented vinegar first, wait until the smell is absorbed- then use this.

But if your house is clean, just needs a little pick me up, then spray this. Its not overpowering, and spoiler alert, you wont smell it for hours, but it adds just the right amount of hmm – just like your body wash- to your environment.

I really love it. Spay it on my upholstered headboard, velvet draperies and there has been no staining or droplets – its undectectable thanks to the perfect atomizer the Laundress uses in their dispensers.

I give this as little gifts because its that universally likeable.

This spray smells like how your home feels after you do a deep clean. It’s the cherry on top of cleaning your home. You get to spray this around afterwards and it makes it even better. I will definitely keep this in stock at my house.

I was hesitant buying online and not smelling in person but I was so satisfied with everything I purchased.

My house smells of cigarette smoke. I try to sty in the front room so the smell will not travel to other rooms but it does. My daughter hates visiting because of the cigarettes and I can smell it too.

I bought Zero Odor and have used it several times throughout my home. Now when I walk in from being away for a while, I do not smell the cigarette odor. This product is the best I have ever used. It does not cover the odors.

I knew that people used this stuff to control odor from cannabis plants they grow in their apartments, and I know exactly how strong the odor from one of those plants in full bloom can be, so I knew that this product must be very effective.

Mom is incontinent. She takes curcumin, so there is an extra odor about her urine that is especially ungood. It lingers in the air, carpet, everything. Got this stuff to try to deodorize the house, after having tried everything else walmart sold and failing.

IT WORKS. I put some in the intake for the AC, I put a tablespoon in each of 5 small dixie cups and three tablespoons each in a couple of small bowls and put them around the house. They last for a week, then time for more gel.

Looks like a 30 oz jar will last me about a month. We tried everything to clear the air. All the other deodorizers that were not in spray form (can’t use spray for health reasons), and even things that were recommended to us like putting bowls of white vinegar in every room along with fresh coffee grounds.

Some things helped, but nothing helped nearly enough until Ona Pro Gel. This stuff is KING, and I will recommend it to everyone with similar issues.

Bought this to use in my small bathroom by the cat litter tray for when I’m out or at night as the cats can make a right stink. It did OK at first I could still smell the poo but not as bad. Within a few days it didn’t do very well ( I clean the tray out daily).

I shook it as it says to do but it’s still not as good as I thought it would be and it’s only a small room.

My beloved Mother is experiencing incontinence issues. Unfortunately the home had an odor of urine. OdoBan was suggested by our newly hired Caregiver. OdoBan is a great product.

I’ve used Odoban for years in the laundry for freshness, softness, anti-static, and germ killing. I’ve used it in the bathroom for wiping down the commode, counters, cabinets, sinks, showers, tubs, and even moping the floor.

In the kitchen I’ve wiped down counters and sinks, follow their instructions for surfaces that come in contact with food, appliances, and cabinets. A quick spray of the spray into shoes to freshen them.

The Eucalyptus product leaves a nice, light, airy, almost floral, scent and can be used as an air freshener according to the instructions on the bottle label. I spray my vehicle interior with it after hauling kids or pets.

At work, long term care facility, we use it because for most applications it only has to stay wet on the surface for 1 minute. When you have community living like this, it is of utmost importance to keep it clean, especially in this COVID world.

Did I say that Odoban is on the FDA list of approved products to use?.

Historically, I’ve only purchased white towels. I have a family of 6, and the thought of drying my face on a towel that my kids use to dry their bottoms is gross to me. Bleach kills everything, but also strips color – so we’ve only had white towels for my entire adult life.

For me, this stuff was a game changer. Disinfect laundry without stripping color? Yes please! I’ve used this repeatedly on the members mark hotel collection towels (amazing if you haven’t tried them) and even after a year of washes the color holds fast.

They come out wonderfully fluffy with odoban. The eucalyptus scent doesn’t smell like a medicine cabinet, it’s a pleasant, light scent. 4 gallons lasts us over 8 months. It’s also great for cleaning up pet messes on upholstery.

I will continue to use this for as long as it is available for sale.

This tiny tub has worked wonders. This sounds fake and I was unsure initially, but I have nothing but geeat things to say. It works, truly works. My boyfriends apartment is a studio apartment in the city 4th floor or a ehh building on the upper east side.

A bit old and there’s a moist moldy-ness in the air. So we’ve been searching for something, air fresheners were not cutting it. I stumbled upon this and now nothing, but fresh smelling air. So happy I found this, I am definitely using this going forward and will recommend everyone.

This product really helps remove odors including musty/mildew smells in an older home. Only negative is you need to replace every few weeks and they’re not inexpensive!

We love this product! It has been “put to the TEST” in our household and business with amazing results each time! BUT, this is the first time we ever bought it on line. We purchased 12 tubs, and when they arrived in a box, 4 of the lids had popped off and product was everywhere! Considering the price, that was a dismay to loose product.

I can’t believe it’s Home-Pourri/Poo-pourri. I can’t believe they call it “fresh air”. It has absolutely nothing to do with “fresh air”. It’s not a fresh or a clean smell. I would describe it as a very cheap and very sweet smell, it’s like a burned candy, this is what it is.

I can’t stand this smell. If I knew this smell would be weird like that, I wouldn’t have bought it, but I would have bought another smell that I like, I liked all the other ones I have. So if you like a very sweet smell, kind of burned candy, you might like this one, if not, they have much better options.

Unfortunately I bought two different products with this annoying smell, the Home-pourri and the Poo-pourri, so I am double disappointed. A fresh smell for me would be like “clean linen”, or a “febreeze-like” smell or even a “forest” smell, but definitely not a “burned candy sweet” smell.

When I first sprayed the Fresh Air Home-Pourri, I thought it smelled pretty good. Then the sprayed started leaking all over my hand and dripping on the floor, so I had to go clean up from that. Afterwards, and I mean hours later, I was sitting in the room I had sprayed, and thought to myself, “What is that smell?” It was like fragranced bug spray, and it was really irritating my nose.

I realized it was the Home-Pourri. I took the bottle and stuck it under the sink, thinking maybe the leaking spray had got down into the outside of the bottle and was just too strong. That helped somewhat, but I could still smell that chemically odor and ended up with a very itchy nose and half a headache.

I now see more people talking about the sprayer, so apparently that’s a common issue and I’m sure Poo-Pourri will fix it. As for the smell of the Fresh Air scent, I don’t think that’s fixable.

I almost didn’t leave a review; maybe it was God‘s way of saying not to leave one since it’s not the most flattering. First, the marketing email I received that asked me to leave a review Doesn’t take you to the location where the review will be left.

Put it in my kids room and left it running 24/7 and it was very quiet. But the scent gave out after less than an hour and the filter pads don’t seem to do much. I feel they are more for trapping dust than filtering out odors in the room.

I like that it has an indicator strip to show when to replace the pads and it has a very neutral look to it, so it blends in with the room well. I feel that if they redesigned it to have a place to pour in a scent instead of a small scent disc, then it would be a better product as far as the scent goes.

As far as eliminating odors goes I did not smell any difference.

Best refresher I have EVER used. I learned of this product in 2002 at a conference and have been enjoying the great effectiveness of it ever since. I would recommend, it’s light and powerful to clear air of foul odors.

All you need is a 2 secs shot in a room!! I Love this.

It is expensive when you compare it to store bought air fresheners, but a little of this product go’s along way! Also, exellent scent flavor choices to choose from. You don’t have to worry about this can leaking or loosing or breaking the spray head.

I just don’t get it. I got a sample of this in the mail and it lasted for days. I spray this and it dissipates in minutes leaving no smell. I have purchased much less expensive products that cover way better than this like Odoban and Frebreeze that actually work all day.

I would skip this over priced stuff.

Living in louisiana these are a must. They are amazing. I keep them in our closest, bathroom cabinets and under the sinks. They make a huge difference. I replace them every 5 months and they will be full of water.

My home is a brick home on a slab with a/c. We still have issues with humidity inside.

I got this product to use beside my litter box in our unfinished basement. Put it right on the cement and it works absolutely amazing!! Immediately decreased the smell in the basement and didn’t just cover it up with a strong odour.

Can’t comment on how long it lasts as we have only had it a few weeks but I will be sure to always have one from now on! Good size. Highly recommend.

Received the Odor Ban odor absorber in the fresh linen scent and it did not disappoint! Easy to use, simply removed the protective seal and twist the cap back on. Placed it in my garage and it smells great.

I had researched several products before deciding on this one. We have six large dogs and one cat that are indoor/outdoor pets but mostly indoors. So we have pet odor that I have been unable to get rid of.

When the product first arrived I put some in the mop water and some in a spray bottle. I mopped and sprayed the entire house but the odor was still there. After a few days of using the spray around the house I noticed the odor was gone!! I still spray it weekly and use it if the dogs have an accident indoors.

This is what I was looking for and it really works. Just give it time. I don’t feel embarrassed to have family and friends in my home now. It doesn’t smell like a kennel!.

*New Car Scent* This scent might be the worst thing I’ve smelled in all of my years on the planet. If you like Axe body spray, mixed with Walmart cologne, then you’ll love this “New Car Scent”, otherwise, you’ll be very unhappy (like myself).

If new vehicles had this aroma, I would purchase nothing but bus tokens because I wouldn’t drive a car. I am so upset that this stench is in my vents now that I am embarrassed to have anyone else in my car.

First and foremost, reading the directions completely before using this product is essential. I would have assumed that this was to be used inside of the car. After reading the directions I learned that this is to be applied into the vent shaft on the outside near the windshield wipers.

Once I correctly used the vent and duct cleaner, I immediately noticed a difference in the airflow into my car. It smelled amazing and cleaner. Every time I turn my heat on, I get an amazing burst of scent.

As far as application, it is super easy. Just lift the straw on the front of the can and spray into the outside vent. Once finished, push the straw back down and store for the next application. I have used the product only once and still have that lasting clean scent that fills my car every time I enter it.

I’ve become a forever loyal consumer of AirWick Plug-in since summer 2009. My go to scent is Fresh Waters. Neutral. Crisp & Clean. A scent to be remembered when a newbie is in-store finding so many other options and unsure what to buy.

My friends have asked what I use that is memorable and makes such an impression. Fresh waters is the beginning scent. It can be added to , like layers, each room or area can be cohesive by building off of a base scent.

I am so disappointed with Air Wick and this new “Smells Amazingly Natural”. That is so far from the truth. The new scent has been nauseating at best. Everyone that stepping into my house asked what that smell was.

Needless to say, we no longer buy Air Wick Scents. I’d say even worse than that, all these review on their own website express the same thing. I am so disappointed that there has been zero response from the “marketing team” whom I was told would get back to me.

I would hope that all these reviews would be enough to fix what they broke! It was not broke to begin with so Go back to the previous version which actually smelled like Lavender.

I used the ODOBAN Disinfectant for multiple applications in my home. Note: This is a concentrated product and therefore should be mixed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Luckily the instructions are very straightforward, but you will need something to mix the solution in (i.

e. bucket, spray bottle, etc. ). I have 4 pets, 2 dogs and 2 cats, and they sometimes have accidents (vomit, urine) and unfortunately, I had the opportunity to use this product on both types. Typically, I use a normal household all-purpose cleaner for this application, which works ok, but these types of cleaners don’t remove odors well.

This product was different in that after using it on carpet for pet stains, there was no lingering odor. It is worthy to note however that the scent I used was Lavender, which I found pleasant, but a little strong.

I am not a huge fan of floral scents, so no surprise there. If you are someone with sensitivities to scents, I would not select an unscented version if available. I mixed the solution in the tank of my Bissell Carpet Cleaning machine in place of the Bissell carpet cleaning solution at the recommended concentration.

This worked really well and again, no lingering odor after cleanup. I also mixed the solution at the concentration recommended on the product label in a spray bottle and used to disinfect bathroom surfaces (sink, faucet, toilet) and again it seemed to work well.

I used this same solution on a heater cover in my garage that had some surface mold and the disinfectant removed it no problem (see picture) and hopefully in time it will prevent the mold from returning.

Overall, I consider this to be a good product for cleaning and disinfecting your home and addressing pet accidents when mixed according to the manufacturer’s directions. My only criticism is the lavender scent was not a great one for me, but that is more of a personal preference.

We have a puppy and an old dog. As you can imagine, between the two of them, there’s been a few accidents in our house. For years we’ve been using a product that works ok, but it leaves a lingering smell in the carpet (for months sometimes), and there is some cleaning residue left over.

Not then end of the world, but also not ideal. When we got this product, I was skeptical but gave it a shot. Not two days later, there was a mishap on our family room area rug. Dogs went outside, absorb the area with paper towel, spray cleaner on spot and follow this instructions.

A little while later, the dogs were back inside and the puppy didn’t even notice the spot. That evening, sitting on the floor, there was no smell (yet there’s still a smell from the other cleaner I used a month earlier on a different spot).

We’ve had dogs for 20 years, and have used lots of different cleaners. Some are terrible, others are just ok. I don’t want to overstate this, but this is the best cleaner I’ve ever tried. I can’t speak to all surfaces, but on ours it works really well.

We use on different carpets, the dog beds, and even a quick spray to eliminate any residue on the laminate floor. Just try it. Follow the instructions and you’ll see.

Okay so I have used this air freshener now for a few weeks and I have a few take aways. first – wash this is not something small. This is something that is a quarter of the size of where I put it- on top of my toilet.

I don’t mean that I have been violent with the container because if I had I think I might have spilled it’s contents and I was just not prepared to deal with this. so I guess my toddler was. Whoops. But I am definitely happy to report that as paranoid as I was- nothing came out.

It’s still in good shape. No broken parts or spilled smell good jelly. Luckily. I do wish that as large as this thing is, it would be decorated or something that I would be able to get with it, to hide it inside of.

I don’t know. Maybe I am too picky. But I like this one for sure and I have every intention to repurchase this because I love this smell.

So I was pretty skeptical about this product upon my first impression of it. Opening the package my nose was greeted with the lovely scent of lavender. I was thinking this would be nice to have in my dog’s area since it can get a bit smelly.

So that’s where I put it and I immediately could not smell anything. The only time I can even smell it is when my nose is right next to the plastic. I thought it wouldn’t work but I held my judgment for a few days.

I wouldn’t say that it completely eliminates odor but it does help. My dog’s area wasn’t nearly as smelly but I guess I expected more. I definitely expected to be able to smell it in such a small area but I wasn’t so that was a disappointment.

Overall, it was ok. It helped with the odor so it’s a product that mostly does what it says it will.

I was surprised at how large of a container this air freshener is. It’s alittle smaller then a dinner plate. Easy to use, you just take the top sticker off and immediately you smell it. I got the lavender which isn’t to mad, maybe a bit to medicinal smelling.

When I get a new one I will get a different smell. This can be put anywhere and helps absorb the smells so probably kitchen or bathroom are a good choice. I actually put mine in my car. Just stuck it under the seat and every time I open my door my car smells fresh and clean, I love it.

So far I’ve had it almost 2 weeks and it’s still going strong. We’ll see how long it lasts but so far works better then other air fresheners I’ve tried.
