20 Best Whole Milk Powder (2022 Updated)

My purchase of milk powder is for the purpose of preparedness during a catastrophe. Thus it will not be used for everyday use, but rather saved for a future day. I am sure I will not be disappointed in it’s quality when the time comes to use it.

I am what one calls a “prepper. “.

The milk taste clean. Like fresh milk. I mix it with his chocolate collagen powder I have and it taste really good. Really helpful knowing I’m getting the nutrients I need out of the milk.

Started using this because of the pandemic. Will keep using it because it’s convenient and tastes good! Works to cook with, always available. I no longer have to make an emergency run for milk.

The steel tin is robust. The inner seal of the tin is a strong airtight aluminium foil peelback lid – very good for long term storage. Once opened the supplied plastic lid forms a pretty decent seal.

The lifespan of the unopened tin is eighteen months (packaged-to-BestBefore date is a two years), but my tin had been packaged six months before I got it, so that gives me an eighteen month shelf life before full usage.

However, my experience with dried milk suggests to me that it would easily last longer if stored in a cool place and kept unopened. The milk powder itself looks very appetising, this is important to the whole experience.

It is very easy to dissolve in water and makes up into actual ‘milk’ quickly. This type of milk powder works perfectly in cooking – I use it for bread-making. Made up as ‘replacement milk’ is looks exactly like real milk, unlike certain semi-skimmed brands I could name.

It chills well in the fridge and does not seperate. In tea it tastes a little powdery unless you dilute it to half strength, OK if you get used to it, it is all a matter of taste. In coffee it works fine for me, so no complaint there.

However, I would not use it a replacement for real milk to drink by the glass – but again, it is all a matter of taste.

I buy regular milk each week; I don’t use this for drinking or cereal unless it is used in a smoothie. I use Peak dry milk powder to make homemade oatmeal packets with rolled oats, a pinch of brown sugar, dry raisins or berries, and a few teaspoons of this milk powder.

Add hot water and stir. Wonderful. I use these to take to work for a quick breakfast. I also use this milk powder in my coffee. This milk is great for traveling when you need a little milk for your coffee or tea.

There is no comparison at all to the other leading brands of powdered milk products. Great product!.

10/10 hands down the best. Very nutritious has a good taste and texture. Goes well with tea, coffe, hot chocolate, etc. it’s really good value for the price. I would definitely buy it again.

Tell people you drink powdered milk and they think you’re crazy. I originally purchased it just to have some on hand when I ran out of regular milk. Now I find myself mixing and drinking the stuff in place of regular milk all the time.

I think it tastes better and you don’t have to worry about it going bad. Tastes great made extra thick with a big scoop of Vanilla Ice cream dropped in the glass. And for all you powdered milk haters go ahead and hate.

it’s all good. More powdered milk for me, hopefully they’ll drop the price sooner or later. My powdered milk habit is getting a little out of control and supply lines are drying up. I wonder if I can get it in a 55 gallon drum?.

My friend introduced me to this product several years ago. I was sensitive to drinking milk, since then I’ve continued to use this product im not sensitive to it anymore. I would highly recommend this product to try out if you have a sensitivity to it.

I have always had some powdered milk (Non-Fat) stored in my pantry. Never really liked the taste but you never know when you might need it. storms, floods, snow and ice could make shopping impossible.

This stuff is whole milk powder and the taste is great. No more blah non-fat after taste. No running out during a storm.

So far it is pretty good. I was raised on powdered milk and that was always skimmed milk and the taste well was not great. Cold this has a good taste. The smell is a little strange but when I compare it to other powdered milk I have it is the milk fat.

With it being dried the smell is stronger. I found it mixed better using room temperature water and then putting it in the refrigerator over night worked best. You really need to,use a blender with this milk.

Some you can just use a wire whisk but again they are skim milk. I think the milk fats are a little different to get incorporated with the water. But the blender really does a great job. It is a good product to have in the pantry for those times you just cant get to the store,or if the store is out of milk.

The Hoosier Hill Farm Whole Milk powder I got tasted rancid with bitter after taste. After drinking it, I got pretty bad stomachache. The rancid taste is more noticeable when you make hot milk drink with it.

I should just discard it. It has been sitting in my pantry since it arrived. I bought it in March 2020. And I just opened it this September 17, 2020. Best by date printed is March 04, 2022. Lot No. 20051-1-3/4/20.

I did not notice any off color. Some reviews here mentioned of odd taste, plastic taste, bitter taste. Maybe because the milk has already gone rancid or bad way before its suppose best by date.

Why would I want an entire jar of Buttermilk that expires at the end of next month??! I want a replacement. I could have bought liquid buttermilk that lasted this long. Also there was powder in the envelope where a plastic container of buttermilk was mailed in an envelope.

I emailed the company in Holland as one seller said this milk was GMO (YUK !!) The company rep said NO this was not GMO. I believe they do not use any GMO products in Europe. By the way, this milk is the best for Food Storage and the BEST Tasting milk.

I use it for cooking (gravy, etc) while using my store bought milk for cereal, etc. You can use this milk really for anything since it tastes so good. It does go bad almost on the exact expiration date.

Then bag and freeze before the exp date to last longer.

We decided to pick up some of this milk to put back for emergency. When I got it, I opend the can to transfer it into a Mylar bag to extend the shelf life. I took that opportunity to make a glass and taste it.

This milk tasted EXACTLY like whole milk. I knew this milk had to pass the final and most difficult test: The Picky Child Test. I pourd some in a glass and gave it to my son. He drank it and didnt say a word! He didnt have a clue it was powered.

Convenient and tastes like regular whole milk. Actually I prefer it. Rich and creamy for use in my morning matcha latte. It mixes so easily. No more lumpy milk. Easy to store, especially important since we live in a rural area and the closest supermarket is miles away.

We are glad to have this option. We really like Horizon Organic milk , and we tuck this away so we will never run out of milk. I have used it in my coffee – and I like using it because I don’t have to heat regular milk to prevent it from cooling my coffee when I put it in.

I can use this simple powdered milk and the temperature of my hot beverage does not change. I hate those little creamers – very unhealthy, ( as is powdered creamer) so this is just a fantastic option – and healthy.

This is the second can of this particular powdered milk I’ve tried. The problem with this product is it’s poor ability to mix thoroughly. I was disappointed when reading that the powder has to be mixed with “warm” water adding to the refrigeration time before consuming.

I did that and also tried it in hot coffee. In the coffee there was always clotted lumps in the bottom of the cup no matter how much I tried to thoroughly mix the powder in – which is not pleasant to find when drinking it.

When I mixed a quart measure with warm water as specified each time there were still lumps, even if I tried to shake it in the container. When drinking milk no one wants to experience lumps.

I really like this and make up about 3/4 quart at a time to use on my cereal and for cooking. It tastes great if it sits a day or two after making it in the refrigerator you really can’t tell it is not whole milk from the jug.

I like it because I never cause a smalljug of milk before it goes bad and you can make this fresh as you need it. I haven’t tried it in instant pudding or cheesecake mixes so I don’t know if it works forthat or not yet.

Great to keep on hand as a non perishable item if you don’t go out shopping often. This is so much better than that pitiful non fat dry milk you make up. It is also much better than that shelf stable milk which has that off taste from lack of enough natural milk sugar.

I hope walmart continues to carry this fine product. This will always be a staple in my pantry from now on.

I was extremely pleased with how this product tasted and lasted. I bought this at the beginning of the COVID 19 scare and it lasted my family of three, 4 months! we are a family that love cereal and coffee and even making our own flavored milk concoctions.

yes, we have made peanut butter flavored milk and even jelly flavored. adding our favorite flavored jelly to milk. we are definitely a milk drinking family and this milk was used the same as if it were fresh milk.

the fact that it passed our taste test and lasted so long after using it multiple times a day is why I gave it 5 stars. it came through for us as many were going without milk due to the shortage at the time.

I will definitely buy this again. especially since the price has gone down now that the milk shortage is no longer an issue. lol.

I admit I was very skeptical when I made this purchase. However, I use milk infrequently and needed to have it on hand occasionally for cooking and baking, so I took the plunge and purchased this item.

I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised – the taste, texture and color all score a 10 out of 10 on my personal food rating scale. I like to think I have a great sense of taste and when mixed with bottled water or filtered this tastes like real milk!!!.

I was looking for a calcium beverage as a dietary supplement. A co-worker recommended Nido Dry Milk Powder. It tastes good and 53 servings are affordable. If I have to choose dietary supplements (Vitamin calcium), I’d definitely go for Nido.

If a measure spoon 🥄 is included, it’ll be convenient.

I got tired of running out of milk for cereal and coffee and the liquid chocolate flavor coffee additive for my two cups of coffee daily. So I decided to try this and the dried chocolate coffee “creamer” from Carnation.

Both are surprisingly delicious. Now I am using them together when I don’t want to run to the store. Which is most of the time. Hate grocery shopping! Actually I’m using this pretty much MOST of the time so I don’t have to run to the store nearly so often.

The bonus is that the milk has calcium I need while the dried chocolate goodness satisfies my chocolate and sweet needs.

This is the best dry powder milk I have bought in North America so far. When it dissolves, it tastes better than the organic whole milk I buy in the expensive health stores and I can feel the fortified elements also, in my body.

I cant handle the hormones and additives to milk in the us and also the low fat versions of milk make me severely ill after a week or so of ingesting, I feel like I have pms and allergies ten times worse than usual, back pain, muscle pain, fatigue, mental fog.

depression. You name it. Yes all that from low fat or zero fat store bought us milk. About half a liter a day. Sometimes more. With this milk here, I feel amazing and strong and zero issues. Yes there are a few clumps when I mix it – it is no issue to me.

The next best thing would be the milk from the cow directly – I dont have the money to afford it in the us.

I’ve had several brands of powdered milk over the years and on a taste basis, this is easily as good or better than all I’ve had and that includes Carnation. No-one should expect these powders to mix fully by simply using a spoon or shaker.

I use a portable hand mixer and there are no clumps what-so-ever when I finish a ten second mix. The reason for the hand mixer is because I also drink protein shakes and when mixing any powder I don’t want clumps to spoil the entire drink.

There’s nothing worse than drinking milk or a protein shake and getting a clump of unmixed powder. I always chill the milk before drinking, unless I’m going to have a ‘honey’ milk. I mix the milk, heat it in the microwave for 2 minutes and then add a tablespoon of all natural honey.

Add some cinnamon to top it off and you’re ready to go!! Highly Recommended!!.

This milk is really good nonfat milk, better than the nonfat milk in a carton. I add it as is to oatmeal and also to coffee for a nice extra boost of protein and calcium. It’s great for drinking too.

I like it’s convenience and versatility. I keep a few bags of this around as a backup for when the snow keeps me from getting to the store for a week or so and, if the price stays reasonable, it’s usually less expensive than grocery store soy milk.

Also great for camping trips and a good protein source to add to smoothies. I generally mix 1 cup of powder (3 plus a little ounces by weight) to 3 1/2 cups of water in a blender. So a 20 oz. bag makes 3 half gallons of milk.

Yes, it can have a bit of a chalky texture to it because it’s doesn’t contain any gum additives, binders or extra processing and can taste a bit plain because it doesn’t have added sweeteners. For curiosity, I may try adding xanthan gum or agar agar to the mix and maybe some agave to see if I can match grocery store texture and taste, but it’s mostly used for cereal, tea and baking so it’s fine.

This is my go-to, my unbeatable powdered milk option I always reach for. The taste and texture is just so different compared to other powdered milk (like Nestle’s Bear brand or Nido). There’s no weird after taste and it’s even great with cereal.

I grew up drinking this milk to bed and up until today I crave for it!.

Easy to mix and dissolve. Has a very good flavor. Can use it dry in coffee as a creamer. Would recommend to anyone who needs to have a backup for milk. Carried my family over difficult times during the current “stay at home” initiative.
