20 Best Whole Wheat Pasta (2022 Updated)

I made Linguine for the first time and I am so glad I did, thanks to Influenster and Barilla. The cooking instructions state that it needs to be boiled for 10 minutes for al dente but since we eat soft, I boiled it for a further 5 minutes.

The results were very promising. After straining the water I noticed that the linguine was quite dry and went on to add the pasta sauce, pre-vooked minced meat to it and tossed it well. To my surprise everything stuck to the linguine.

To my friends who have never experienced such a phenomenon and observing the mentioned, I was beyond excited. (Since I usually add a dash of oil while boiling a pasta. ) Not adding oil while boiling (as per instructions) helped the food to come together.

I then added a garnishing of parsley, oregano and cheese, and microwaved it for a minute for the cheese to melt. (I separated the full linguine packet in two separate bowls, one that had mozarella cheese and the other with feta cheese.

) The results were amazing. I found that since the linguine was dry, it helped the sauce and minced meat to stick together instead of having to scrape the meat off the plate, which is quite annoying.

The meal was delicious to say the least. Thank you once again for choosing me to test out the Barilla Linguine.

I like this Barilla extra protein spaghetti. It makes me feel good that I am feeding my family noodles that are higher in protein and fiber than traditional noodles. They taste very good-I do not notice a difference in the taste from traditional noodles.

My only complaint and the reason I removed a star is that for some reason these noodles tend to retain more water than other noodles. Sometimes it makes the sauce on your plate look watered down. It’s not such a big complaint that I would not buy them, but it’s nice to know that this can happen.

It took me a little bit to figure out whether my sauce was very thin or whether it was the noodles!.

These noodles are scrumptious. My roommate is gluten intolerant and I am not, but these are the best gluten-free noodles I’ve ever had. They are made with rice flour and are so good I think I actually prefer them to the wheat floured ones.

They always come out Al dente and they hold the sauce beautifully. Barilla also has a variety of other pasta shapes that are gluten free so you don’t have to just have spaghetti noodles. I think it’s absolutely wonderful to see more and more companies that are including gluten-free products for customers that have sensitive diets.

I read that it would take some adjustment to get used to whole wheat pasta after a lifetime of regular pasta. But because the whole wheat is much better for my health (heart), I decided to go ahead and put myself through that adjustment.

But, first bite. this stuff is great. I like the taste and texture of it better than regular spaghetti. Now I eat it regularly, with spaghetti sauce or whatever I want to do with it. This brand, DeLallo is very, very good.

We use plenty of pasta in our house. I Love this brand because it makes your dish taste that much better. This pasta is a very high quality, it holds up well to just oil and parmesan or light red sauces.

We enjoy Delallo pastas for our big family dinners! Also this pasta is widely available in most stores and the brand has many varieties!.

We love this pasta, great taste and less calories than others. This is the only spaghetti we use, our guests love it too. We will continue to order this pasta.

We were never happy with any purchased dried noodle used in American spaghetti recipes. Too bland, too slippery, too dense, too thick and so on. This Capellini hits every note! Cooks fast and perfect, soaks up sauce, sauces cling well, and the noodles taste fantastic just plain.

Found it in a Whole Foods, on the other side of the nearest town (an hour drive one way), and went there specifically after these noodles, for a number of years. Then they stopped carrying them. Guess a shelf clearing here and there wasn’t enough.

So happy to find a place we can order them now. Every order of these delicate noodles has arrived well packed, and fresh!.

I wanted something different than regular spaghetti noodles and used the tagliatelle with my meat sauce, then tries it with other types of sauce. There was conflicting info on the internet about how thick this is compared to spaghetti noodles or fettuccine noodles.

I guess it can vary depending on where you buy it. This was just perfect. It was maybe half the width of a fettuccine and a little thicker than a spaghetti noodle. It can be a hybrid for many favorite pasta dishes.

Love love love this pasta. It is the family favorite. It is organic and from Italy which means NO Glyphosate (aka: Round Up Ready – a known toxin and carcinogen). My husband is Italian and he tells me that this pasta is “like Grandma used to make.

I bought this and it sat on a shelf for months. I try whole wheat pastas, different brands, sometimes several times but I never liked them. Figured I was just a white pasta girl. Finally one day, not wanting to just chuck this out and also thinking I should at least try this.

I’ve not had einkorn pasta before. When I cooked it up I was thinking I’m not going to like this but to my surprise when I ate a piece while checking for doneness I liked it! I put it in a bowl with my roasted red pepper cashew sauce , some pepper and green olives.

YUM! I highly recommend giving this a try. We all know whole wheat is better. but it doesn’t usually taste better or the texture is really off. this one surprised me and it might surprise you too! This might be an option for you to get more whole grains into your diet.

It happened to be on sale when I went to reorder and I ordered like 15 boxes in different shapes. I even reached out to Natura Market to see if they can get some of Jovial’s other varieties of Einkorn pasta.

I love spaghetti, but spaghetti does not love me. I’m on a kick lately trying to find more “real” food to eat, and I bought this pasta as part of that process. I’ve tried other whole wheat pastas in the past and they’ve been gummy and disgusting.

I am thrilled with this pasta. If it weren’t for the color, when covered in marinara sauce I could not tell the difference between it and normal white flour spaghetti. It was delicious, but no obviously weird “whole wheat” flavor.

It was not gummy. Just delicious. And eating it knowing that it wasn’t just a waste of calories with no nutritional value like normal pasta made me so happy. We’ll see how my gut feels tonight, that will be the real test.

But based on just flavor and consistency alone, I love this stuff.

We always have a few boxes in the pantry. It cooks up beautifully, the texture is so similar to commercial wheat I would challenge a blindfolded test subject to notice the difference. It does not seem to get mushy at all, it hasn’t for us yet.

It’s just an enjoyable pasta. Follow the instructions on the box, bring it to a boil as quickly as you can after you add it to the water and let it cook – very simple and delicious! Give it a try.

My local grocery stores don’t carry orzo pasta anymore so I’m so glad that Vitacost does. Even better is that they carry it in the wholegrain variety. It is healthier and has a good flavor.

Say yes to orzo. This orzo is so delicious. Expands to a larger size. Organic and whole wheat to boot. I don’t know why but orzo is hard to find, especially at a good price. One supermarket here and Amazon sells orzo in the canister which is expensive.

Don’t know what happened to Ronzoni orzo? Anyway orzo is back. Ate at a nice restaurant and the fish was over orzo. I like rice. but orzo is the way to go! Try with Lipton Onion soup mix, mushrooms and sautéed onions.

I’ve been buying different brands of whole wheat pasta to find out the one that we prefer. This pasta is good, but still has a bit too much wheat taste to it. Texture is OK, but nothing special. I would buy this again only if the pasta that I prefer (einkorn wheat) were not available.

I love whole wheat pasta and my husband hates it. I usually make mine with whole wheat and his with regular. I do find that this brand in while wheat is harder to get al dente than others. It seems like the margin for error is greater and that perfect texture window is pretty small.

I had issues with the pasta being overlooked and almost falling apart or being chewy (not al dente). Not my favorite from a texture standpoint, but the flavor is good.

I love pasta and this is one of my go it’s that I buy. It’s so good, cooks easily, quickly and evenly. It’s also 100% organic which is amazing! It’s super affordable and great quality for the price. Overall I’m very satisfied.

This is a very good whole wheat, organic, kosher, pasta. Most taste like cardboard but this is really good and I highly recommend this particular product. It held the sauce well. The only ingredient listed on the package is organic wheat.

This is tasty whole wheat pasta at a much better price than what I’ve paid at any other website. I wish it was available in penne, which I prefer to fusilli as my everyday pasta.

Most “whole wheat” pastas are an afterthought by companies who got their start only knowing how to make pasta for Americans in the 50’s. So, no wonder it tastes like the cardboard box. This Pasta, however, is the way God intended pasta to taste.

My wife and I try to eat whole wheat bread and pasta. We found that the whole wheat pasta from Organic is the best tasting one. (Americas Test Kitchen also agrees with us. ) The only supermarket chain in Chicago that carried the product recently went out of business, so I was happy to fine that it is available at Swanson and at a reasonable price.

This is my go to whole wheat pasta that I have been using for several years since my transition to more plant based eating. It cooks nice and al dente with a rich wheat flavor. Their jarred organic to tomato products are also first rate.

This is really good pasta. You wouldn’t even know they’re whole wheat; they don’t have that grainy texture and sour taste that some whole wheat noodles have. They have just a little more nutty flavor than traditional noodles.

They cook up really nice taste delicious.

It’s hard to find a whole wheat pasta that actually tastes good and has a great texture. We love the DeLallo whole wheat! My husband is super picky about pasta, and he really enjoys it and also loves that it is healthier than white carbs.

These are delicious. The pasta is flavorful with just butter and parm. Sometimes pasta tastes plain but this one has a wonderful flavor that you don’t want to cover up wth a heavy sauce. I really enjoy the pasta by Delallo.

Naw, I don’t think you want to buy this orzo. okay, I can’t lie. Orzo is an elusive pasta in my local stores so I bought this when I couldn’t find it locally. I will never buy a different orzo again!.

It’s a little larger, darker because it’s whole wheat, but tasty!.

I love Delallo pasta, especially their orzo. It cooks evenly and has a great taste. For some reason I occasionally have a hard time locating this shape of pasta and I am very limited to the brands I can choose from, but I will always choose Delallo first if it is available – even if it costs a bit more, because it really is a superior pasta.

Also, if you are local to the Delallo store and purchase it there, you get a free pasta utensil with purchase.

I keep buying Delallo Capellini No. 1. Excellent quality, and I like keeping it around ’cause it cooks so fast, you can always whip something up when you’re starving. BUT – ain’t NO way it cooks in 2 minutes! Unless you really like barely cooked noodles.

I don’t. I’d say right around 5 minutes in strong boiling salted water. Just pull a few strands out every 30 seconds or so toward the end to test.

Some whole wheat pasta can have a funky taste and less than ideal texture. This is perfect. Tastes great, excellent texture. We really like it.

When I bought this whole wheat pasta, I was expecting something that was a serious compromise from regular pasta. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It tastes remarkably similar to traditional pasta.

I love Capellini, and this whole wheat version is really good. It takes a bit longer to cook, but otherwise is just as good.

So it has been a long road trying to find a whole grain pasta that felt and tasted like it wasn’t a whole grain pasta. I’ve tried rice noodles, close but not quite. Tried chic pea noodles, nasty mess.

Tried several brands of whole wheat noodles. Some terrible, some not so bad. Tried these elbows today. and oh man. it’s the ones. My life is complete again. Can’t wait to try their other noodle shapes.

I was going through my pantry and found a pack of these Delallo elbows. but they were dated Jan 2018 ( that’s 4 years ago). They looked fine so I cooked them. My vegetable pasta salad turned out great.

This was the first time I’ve been able to find organic elbow macaroni to buy. Every other kind of organic pasta is for sale at my supermarket but not macaroni, so I’m glad to have found this. I used a package to make a tuna casserole and it was great.

I bought a large quantity, but when I run out I will buy more.

Trying to eat healthier – I try many whole wheat pastas, and usually don’t like them too much. But Delallo’s whole wheat pasta is the best I’ve tried. Delicious! I wish Vitacost would carry their w. w.

Linguine.

This is great quality pasta for those who are looking for real whole wheat products. Tastes great, arrived quickly (way ahead of the Amazon estimate) and clearly first quality – not something that has sat on a shelf or in a warehouse gathering dust.

I’m Italian and have been eating whole grain pasta for years. This product is exceptional. Because it is made from semolina, it has the pasta taste I’m familiar with from traditional pasta with the added bonus that it is whole grain.

I recommended it to my doctor. I buy lots of it. I do cook it a bit longer than recommended. Although I like my pasta al dente, the time on the package makes it a bit too al dente. So give it a try.

Had two bowls of this today. If I don’t have pasta at least once a day I get a little cranky. I’m genuinely obsessed with pasta. I eat a bowl everyday, it makes me happy. I usually have a creamy pasta but today I decided to go all green.

Really easy to make, whiz garlic, coriander, basil, avocado, fresh squeeze of lemon juice, olive oil, and chilli flakes or a green chilli in a mixer, make sure it’s of a thick creamy consistency and then toss it into cooked spaghetti or pasta, throw in some cherry tomatoes, a little salt if you want (I hate salt) and voila le pasta is served.

Barilla pasta is my most purchased brand. The varieties of noodles they have is enormous. They even offer whole grain options. I use a lot of pasta, so it’s good to have so many choices to offer my family some variety.

The noodles have a good taste and cook to the perfect al dente. They don’t stick together or feel slimy after cooking. They hold sauce well, so each bite has plenty of flavor. I recommend this brand to any pasta lover.

I can’t use this product for my intended purpose. The picture on the box online showed the Kosher Certification Symbol. I specifically checked for that before I ordered. The several boxes of pasta we received were packaged differently and do not contain the Kosher Certification Symbol.

That means I can’t use it to feed my visitors and I have to reshop for something to use instead, at a regular grocery store where I can select and see the exact package that I purchase. From now on I will not rely on this website to accurately represent if a product is kosher or not.

The texture is perfect wnd rhe price can’t be beaten. We’ve used it to make pasta salad, with sauces and veggies, and with olive oil, fresh garlic and parmesan. The possibilities are endless! The packaging is more environmentally friendly now, too.

Just buy it!!.

I have switched over to whole wheat products, and this is at a good price. In the beginning they had whole wheat elbow, which I would prefer over the Rotini or Penne, but I will take what I can get. I always cook it using the shorter time otherwise it will fall apart.

It’s spaghetti. How can you go wrong? Butter or sauce makes it delicious. From al dente to slimy, you could have it all here. You like it a little chewy? Boil it for just a few minutes. Do you like it slimy like a benefit spaghetti dinner? Cook the heck out of it for 30 minutes if that’s your thing.

Whichever you want, you’ll get it out of this pasta.

How is it that this supposedly whole grain spaghetti has only 3. 5 grams of fiber–even less than listed on the box–when others have 5 or 6? And the cooking instructions on the item received are considerably longer than what it shows for this item on line, making it unusable for it’s intended purpose.

False information all the way around. Live and learn.

I don’t know exactly what this is, but it isn’t whole wheat. I believe it’s 51% whole wheat and 49% white flour. It doesn’t have anywhere near the fiber that whole wheat should, and as well the taste obviates that fact.

If I’m being charged whole wheat prices, I want whole wheat pasta.

I live in small rural town where an abundance of organic products are not readily available. Enter Vitacost! Prices are many times same as or better than grocery stores here, and delivered! I also have more variety with the things I cannot find locally.

The spaghetti is very good.

In trying to eat healthier, I’ve moved from plain white pasta. It’s a different taste, but knowing it’s better for me, I make myself get used to the difference and that’s OK.

I love healthy spaghetti and this very low price. The benefits this meal has using this kind of spaghetti means I can keep being healthy.

This is the best tasting non-traditional pasta I have ever eaten. It did raise my blood sugar, but not as much nor for as long as regular pasta. I made the Lettuce and pasta recipe and it was delicious.

It makes a difference to me to see a harvest date on an olive oil bottle. Once I saw the date on my Papa Vince olive oil bottle I happily cracked it open. Ahhh, the smell and then the pouring consistency was delightful.

I poured it over fresh salad leaves and warm pasta with garlic/basil/radiccio and I was in heaven. Thank you.

After going Vegan it has been an adventure finding a satisfactory non wheat pasta. I have tried them all ,brown rice, lentil, quinoa, corn, black bean, you name it. This ancient wheat pasta from Sicily is far superior in taste and texture to any of these alternative products.

I wish it was less expensive but I cannot go back.
