At the time of buying the iPad Air, there was not enough of a difference for me to justify buying the iPad Pro 2020. However when the iPad Pro M1 came out, I began to second guess my purchase. However, at the time I was enjoying the iPad Air and wasn’t experiencing any reason to take back the iPad Air and make an exchange.

When I started using the iPad Air for work that is when my needs changed and my wants. Everything about the iPad Air is great, do not get me wrong. Just that I had the MacBook Air M1, and still do, and Apple silicone in it is great.

It made me start to think though, what would the experience be like when having the M1 in an iPad? I ended up taking the iPad Air back just in time and exchanged it for the iPad M1 11 inch. I had the 12.

9 iPad Pro 2018 for the longest time, but found myself wanting the smaller 11inch because the size was just right for my needs. The smaller size is just much more portable, I didn’t need the upgraded display nor the extra price tag.

After making my exchange, I saw what I had been missing from owning the iPad Air 2020. I do enjoy Face ID over using my fingerprint, especially when I am using the iPad as a desktop computer. I also enjoy gaming on my iPad more now especially the 120z display.

Also I use the iPad for work, and with the M1 chip I don’t have to worry about any work I throw at it. I love what Microsoft has done with its apps for the iPad. It’s a world of a difference from what it was like when Microsoft’s office apps were first offered in the App Store.

You can now have multiple spreadsheets open now in excel, and that goes for PowerPoint as well. I like their approach used in the navigation bar compared to its desktop cousin version. I feel the menu system in the iPad version is organized better and I can actually find the right tools for what I need to do.

Because my work now uses teams, its a breeze to share documents and files over the 24MB. I don’t mind the black bars on my display when using an external monitor, after a while I don’t even notice them.

My recommendation, if you are only using the iPad for personal use and you want to use the updated Magic accessories and slightly bigger screen I would buy the Air. However, if you want a more capable, slightly even bigger screen, faster and you plan on using the Microsoft Office suite a lot, then I would buy the Pro; and of course if you plan on being a content creator or influencer on YouTube ;).

This is the first Apple product I have purchased. I expected top notch quality based on the feedback from people I know with Apple products, and Apple’s reputation they have created precedes them. I only switched to an iPad from an Android one for Adobe Fresco and Illustrator and Procreate since none of them are available on the Android platform.

The Apple Pencil was a consideration vs. competitors as well, but not a deal breaker as I’m fine with other pens. The first iPad I got had a speck of dust between the glass and screen. It was barely noticeable when the screen was on, but I finally decided to return it because I didn’t know if it would create a problem, especially with pressure sensitivity–which that in itself is important for drawing.

Best Buy of course swapped it out no problem when I showed them. The associate I got said he had never seen that before. (However, discussion boards are littered with stories of the same, I have now found.

) We opened the second iPad right then and there and both looked over the screen. Seemingly now problems. When I got home, I looked at it under brighter lighting and discovered a small scuff. Oh well, I thought.

I then tried out the Apple Pencil, and it would not drag smoothly across the screen except in a few small spots. It was almost like hitting fine sandpaper. It wasn’t the tip because it’s new for one, and two, the smooth and rough spots were in the exact same spots every time.

I ultimately decided to keep the one I had and not try again. Partially due to the hassle of it all, and partially because I will always have a glass screen protector on it anyway. (The cheap big box store one I got glides smoothly.

go figure. ) If Adobe ever brings Illustrator back to Android and brings Fresco over, I will be switching back to my go-to brand. Four cheap one expensive tablet, and 5 phones later, I only ever had an issue with one phone.

I’m 2 for 2 with Apple. Search “iPad dust under screen” and “iPad pencil not smooth” or “iPad rough glass” and see what you find before buying, lest you think this is a hoax review. It’s not just post-2020 situation stuff either.

We’ve had iPhones for years and been happy with them. And have briefly used the kids’ iPads who swear by them. An incentive to buy one ourselves was brought about by our frequent skyping with family back east previously done on the phone.

What a world of difference. We decided on the Air model with 64GB over the regular iPad 10. 2-inch because it’s noticeably thinner, the screen is bigger and some of the internals, etc are a big cut above.

The iPad Air has been called the Pro-Light and it essentially is from our comparisons in the store. 64GB is more than enough storage space unless you’re dropping tons of pictures, videos, movies, apps and whatnot on the thing.

We’re not. This device is a delight; easy to use, already loaded with stuff/apps right out of the box, fast, great graphics, decent camera, terrific HD screen and sound, responsive, connects seamlessly to wifi, and syncs nicely with the iPhone if you have one and want to do that.

You can use wireless earbuds of course, and your wired will work also but a small $10 jack adapter is needed for the lightning size wire. So far we have zero complaints. We didn’t buy a keyboard or pencil, only a nice high-end cover-case.

But finger action on-screen as with your phone is direct, clean, effortless as it is with a phone. Highly recommended device.

I wanted to use this a few weeks before reviewing, just so the cute factor would wear off a bit and I could give a more practical review. If you are on the fence about the Mini vs. a larger iPad, make your decision on the intended use.

If it’s for school or work, go bigger for sure. The Mini is a personal use device, very nice for media consumption, as a reader, journaling, communication, casual gaming etc. Pretty much perfect for all of that, but as I bought the pencil as well, I’ve discovered screen real estate is lacking for things such as document annotation, larger drawings, etc.

The size is smaller than the previous Mini (but the screen is a bit larger). That being said, this will never be a one handed device. The tighter bezels make one handed holding a bit less comfortable than my old Mini, and I still have to prop it or my arm up to use while reclining.

However it beats anything bigger for this type of use, so my complaints are minor. Performance is great, and as it’s the latest chip, it will have a little more software upgrade life, something that should be a consideration in any Apple product purchase.

A few more observations: -Battery life is just fine. Depends on use anyway. -iOS 15 makes split screen use much easier. -The cameras are quite good for this device. The rear camera is fine in a pinch, with the added bonus of being able to edit it right on the device.

The front camera is very good and brings another dimension to the device for FaceTime, Zoom calls etc. -Home Screen customization with widgets is adequate, but not as interactive as I would like. -64 gig size is ok unless you download stuff.

If that’s the case you pretty much have to pony up for the 264, which kind of spoils the price point for this device. Kind of shady by Apple and they probably could have sold a gazillion more of these with 128 gig in the base model.

Finally, the Apple Pencil is a nice accessory (as long as it fits the budget), even for casual use. Writing and drawing is lifelike and the tool set works really nice. A matte screen protector will be necessary for anything more than casual use though as the bare screen is too slick for precise use.

I really didn’t need it to be honest, but I’ve happily discovered it to be really nice for taking quick notes, journaling, even normal touch screen use such as scrolling and tapping rather than using my finger.

No regrets on this purchase.

Context: I bought an iPad mini because I wanted to read more books, news, and long articles on a device that did not distract me constantly with notifications and social media like my phone does. So far, it has served that purpose very well.

I did not download any social media apps to my iPad, and I do not have access to my work email on it either. I probably use it 75% of the time for reading articles and news, as well as. epub and. pdf books with the Apple Books app, and 25% of the time for streaming sports and TV.

The battery life is good but not amazing. If I have many browser tabs open and/or am streaming video, the battery lasts maybe 3/4 of a full day of use at max brightness. I say max brightness because the screen is not super bright; in a bright room or in sunlight I usually wish I could make the screen “10% brighter”.

The speakers are great and get pretty loud. The iPad mini has been a great investment for reading. Outside of work and higher ed, I had not been reading very much in the past few years–maybe an hour a day of books, articles, news combined–before purchasing my iPad mini.

Now I read for anywhere from 2-5 hours per day. The iPad mini is the perfect size to mimic a page of a book. Also because I do not have any social media on it and turned off most notifications, I can read for long periods of time without getting distracted like I do when using my phone (which has work email, and multiple messaging and social media apps which constantly ping and distract me).

The 64gb size is fine for my use patterns. I only download books to my iPad so I don’t require the storage space someone downloading tons of tv and movies would require. I don’t own an Apple Pencil and do not to do any “handwriting” with my iPad mini.

I assume the screen would be a little small for handwriting notes anyway. My only gripes are minor: I wish the iPad used Face ID, had better battery life, and a brighter screen. Apart from that, it’s been a great investment and I recommend one to anyone who wants a device for reading, high quality viewing (2266-by-1488), and great portability.

I absolutely LOVE this iPad! I only paid $359+ tax! I got it when the new iPad Air came out in September. It is now mid-October, so I have been using & loving the device for about 6 weeks! When I purchased the device, it was part of a sale on the mini for $399 from $499.

I then got an additional $40 off because I chose the “renewed” version, for the total price of $359! It came in the exact same apple box with all components. The iPad is perfect! No scratches, easy to hold, fast, light, and portable.

I love that it use USB-C like the iPad Pros and most other devices these days. I would not pay $499 (the typical asking price) for this product. For $399 or less, it is a fantastic deal! It is definitely a niche product for people who want a smaller device.

I love it for streaming, email, reading, and general internet browsing. (TIP! Whenever new apple products come out or if there is a holiday sale, the prices of their products drop DRAMATICALLY! I only buy iPads/laptops on sale.

These sales are extremely consistent and predictable. ) I used to have the iPad mini 4, but by 2022 it was too slow to do any meaningful browsing. I much prefer browsing on my iPad mini 6 vs. my iPhone 13 or my MacBook Air.

It is light, fits my hands well, is enough screen to stream and read, and the browsing is FAST! I highly recommend this device to anyone looking for an additional iPad for recreational purposes. Something to note is that the finger scanner button is on the top right of the device and the volume buttons are on the top left of the device.

I will note that I also have a regular ipad 9th generation that I use with a folio keyboard case that was provided by the school I work at. I teach special education. I could not do any lesson planning or “work” on my iPad mini.

I consider my mini strictly a recreational device. Someone with larger hands or who prefer a larger screen may prefer the cheaper 9th generation iPad which starts at $329 as their daily device (eg. My dad), or if you need something faster and lighter with more technological features, the new iPad Air which starts at $699, might be for you (eg.

Student, software engineer, trader, architect). I will also note that I am impressed with how well the regular ipad 9th generation has held up with rigorous daily use for my work. I got this new version for my partner since he bought the last version only a few months ago. So he traded in the Air 4 for the new Air 5. It’s fast and this will least a good 4-6 years with all the updates it will have in its lifecycle.

The camera with the CenterStage its a much better improvement over the last version. When he has to use it for zoom calls or facetime he has to move it at a certain degrees to get a good shot while using the camera and now that it moves with you it accommodates itself and he doesn’t have to move the tablet around.

It works well with the Logitech Combo Keyboard he was using for both the Air 4 and Air 5 smoothly. The Apple Pencil works very well and is responsive to whatever he is using it for. I will say that the battery life could be a bit more desirable if it had an all day life but he gets a good 8-10 hours depending the usage for typing stuff or watching movies or tv with the streaming apps.

The one major downside is the storage. This should have been at least 128GB instead of the paltry 64GB that its still doing with most iPads now have at least 128GB. But since he’s not using it for editing and stuff this should do for what he does with it.

Overall with a major upgrade with the M1 Chip its super fast but this could have been improved more with extra internal storage from 64GB to 128GB and the camera with flash and a few more megapixels but overall its a major improvement from the last version which hasn’t been barely 2 years since the iPad Air 4 came out.

I’ve owned many tablets over the years, but nobody does it quite like Apple when it comes to consistency. Battery life, app & accessory support, processing speed, etc. All a league ahead of the competition for devices in this category, save if you need more ports or a different OS.

I haven’t liked Apple’s phones in recent years because of a few main design choices: Face ID instead of a fingerprint scanner for biometrics, an ugly notch that steals screen real state, and a lightning port instead of a much more modern and capable USB-C port.

IPad’s don’t have the notch (thank God), but the base model still has a lightning port and the pro models use Face ID only, not to mention the price tag (ouch!). So when the 4th Gen iPad Air launched without any of those issues/compromises, I thought some Apple engineer had designed it just for me.

I purchased it right away last year and I can’t find anything to complain about. I did upgrade to the 5th Gen model this year for the M1 chip, a storage upgrade, and 10GBPS USB-C, but my review stands for both generations.

You get basically the same CPU/GPU performance of the iPad Pro without Face ID and the price tag, while still retaining more “pro” features than the base model iPad. In my opinion, this is the best bang for your buck iPad, and it could replace a laptop completely if you don’t need desktop specific software, and don’t mind a dongle or two for accessories.

I am an engineering student. Obviously, this means I take many notes all day, constantly have homework due, and do other stereotypical engineering student things. For this reason, I bought an iPad in hopes of organizing myself and seeming like a “cooler” student.

It DID NOT disappoint! No joke, it made learning fun and my grades have raised from one quarter to the next. I use GoodNotes to take my notes and everything is perfectly organized in their respective folders, my handwriting is beautiful and the dark pages make it easy on the eyes.

The build quality is outstanding. A beautiful light green, matching nicely with my forest green case. I have a third-party pen which works well. The OS is nice and the screen size is perfect for writing on.

The screen quality is solid albeit a bit low for today’s standards and expectations are given the price. I take a lot of handwritten notes, but this iPad is not a replacement for my laptop. I use engineering programs and for that, I am required to have a full laptop.

But this is a great addition to my studying tools. Without this little thing, I genuinely would’ve likely failed some of my classes. I have ADHD and it just helps me stay grounded and on-task with everything I have due.

The best part is traveling with it. I don’t need 50 notebooks and new ones each year, I just carry this thing around in my backpack and it’s super light. Perfect, perfect, perfect! I have to recommend it to anybody looking to add to their studying habits.

Upgraded to the new iPad Pro from the 2018 version. Noticeably brighter display and smoother performance. Perfect compliment to a PC laptop (Windows), when you need a tablet device. I do use iPad Pro with Procreate and LumaFusion (preferred over Windows applications), and having the iPad Pro in addition to PC laptop is, in my opinion, a perfect pairing when you prefer using Office applications and others in a Windows device and environment.

Battery life is much better vs my 2018 iPad Pro, but is likely at least partially due to age. The price, display and performance of iPad Pro vs the new Surface devices… well, you can compare. I chose the iPad Pro after thorough comparison for my needs.

Yours may be different. The weight is heavy when adding a Magic Keyboard, or even the new Logitech keyboard that’s similar to a MS Surface device with the multi angle “kickstand,” which I prefer over the Magic Keyboard.

I returned to my local Angry Best Buy. To fortify myself for the bitter Sales Associates…. I brought reinforcements. My wife joined me to watch my flanks. Determined to buy an IPad – I stand patiently in front of the IPad display….

and pointed at what I wanted. It seemed like an eternity – but was actually a few minutes before a sales associate asked if I needed assistance…. my answer was “yes. I want to buy a iPad”. He said he would be right with us….

as he finished with another customer. We waited…. patiently. The sales associate returned…. ”ready” to help. I told him what Ipad wanted. His mood improved. As I listed the accessories I wanted…. he became downright friendly.

Worried that I had entered a trap…. I nervously looked for assurances from my reinforcements. Pencil – check Magic keyboard – check Bonus accessory, a case: check iPad Pro with lots of memory : check As for the product….

I love it. Still learning all the tips and tricks, and learning new apps like Adobe Illustrator – I have that on my computer…. the iPad version is slightly different…. thus the learning curve. Been playing with the LiDAR capabilities – sweet.

The Pros first: Excellent build quality, looks great, super portable…. and that is it. Trying to get anything done on this iPad is a pain in the neck. Productivity is slow and annoying because NOTHING has full functionality.

Apple restricts compatibility so badly that almost no apps that work just fine on a full desktop (MAC or PC) or even an Android phone are crippled on iPAD OS, even this newest version. This is really just a massively overpriced iPhone with less features.

For instance, I couldn’t use Adobe Premiere Rush properly on the iPad because it kept crashing and basic features such as using overlay are disabled on the iPad where even my Android phone can use it.

I literally can’t download ANYTHING directly to the iPad. I have to use things like Dropbox in order to be a Go-Between and then import the file from there. Dropbox only gives you 2GB for free and then is $12/month if you want more… even google drive isn’t that preposterously expensive and they start you off with more, but iPad barely works with Google Drive so good luck there.

I was genuinely excited to try this new iPad out because I was led to believe the experience was more like a desktop, but in reality the most basic Android phone is far more like a desktop experience and the iPad is just an embarrassment.

Get an iPhone if you want the same experience. It’s a better device anyways. The M1 processor can’t make up for pathetic usage. Buy an actual laptop (MAC or PC) if you want actual productivity. I’m sending this trash back for a refund.

Experienced User of Apple products. I bought this iPad mini thinking it was a good deal and that I could give it to my mother to keep her off of my iPad Pro playing her games. Well I was badly mistaken.

This unit has been nothing but problems. Most times it won’t connect to the internet:( Then it cuts out during just about anything:( I made sure to update it and connect both ways to get web usage and I have issues with both ways constantly:( Its been a nightmare.

I only kept it cause we had thrown the return stuff out thinking things would be fine. Huge mistake!! Then the screen upon arrival was also cracked so I had to instantly buy a screen protector and case to put over it!! Just truly sucks but if the return stuff hadn’t been thrown out it would’ve been sent back immediately!!.

After years of struggling with Android and Amazon Fire tablets, my wife and I finally decided to try an Apple product. Are we ever glad we did. Although this product is a couple of generations old, it arrived looking like new.

After charging it up, the setup process was straightforward and easy to do. The best thing about it is it just works. No more fighting with keeping the device connected to the wi-fi. Well worth the money we spent on it.

I just received this refurbished iPad yesterday. I have never been so disappointed in a purchase from anywhere. This was a gift for my grandson and now he is disappointed. The iPad does not hold a charge or it does not recognize when it’s charged.

When I received it I expected it to be charged a little but it would not open. As soon as I put it on the charger, it was ready to open with a 40% charge. I went ahead and let it charge to 100% but when I tried to set it up it died.

I plugged it in and after a few minutes it acted like it was ready, but no, it died again. It works a little longer if it’s plugged in while you’re using it but it still shuts down and you have to re-enter your password.

I am beyond frustrated because wanted to give this to my grandson and of course it’s ineligible for return. It’s also scratched on the back but I can deal with that. Just because it’s refurbished and cost less than a new iPad, it still expect it to work properly.

The iPad screen cracked on the upper left corner of the screen during operation. While continuing to use the iPad, the crack spread all across the screen. Mainly staying on the left hand side. I have owned several iPads and never witnessed a screen crack under these normal conditions.

The screen even has a protective cover and this still happened. The iPad is in a well designed protective case. I can not explain how this occurred but it is what it is. The iPad still operates as it should with the cracked screen, but continues to spread.

My last iPad was left on top of a vehicle and took a 55mph impact. It cracked the screen but didnt damage the imaging screen. It also still functioned as it should. I bought this one to replace my original iPad because the screen was cracked.

This iPad screen lasted about 3 days and for reasons I cant explain.

I ordered this iPad for my son for Christmas. I charged it when I received it to set everything up. I had it on the charger the whole time I was setting it up. When I was finished, I took it off the charger, put it in the box and wrapped it up.

When he opened it on Christmas he turned it on, but it was dead already after being fully charged. We’ve had issues with it ever since. It will not hold a charge! It goes to 100% very quick. But is dead within 15-20 mins! A few times it would not charge at all! It said it was charging but wouldn’t actually charge (if that makes sense).

I’ve contacted the seller twice through email and have gotten no reply back. I filed a return through Walmart and they gave me a return label to send it back! So that’s what I did! It’s been a week and still haven’t heard a word! So disappointing since it was the one thing my son wanted for Christmas! I need a return so I can buy him a new one.

There’s absolutely no way that it should have gotten sent to me wi the battery life being like that. I’m not one to write bad reviews, or any reviews for that matter. But when I pay $300 for something, it should work!.

Ok so first thing before you order understand that this is an older generation and the last IOS update it will take is 9 and we are currently at iOS 15. With that being said this did exactly what I intended to do.

Our toddler was constantly taking our iPhones, we bought a kids Amazon tablet and that was garbage. Wouldn’t load so slow and just didn’t last. Because you can not download apps in the App Store because of the iOS there are two solutions.

I did not want to go the first route so I discovered if I download the apps I want on the iPad off my iPhone (YouTube kids, baby shark, Netflix etc. ) and then log into my iCloud on the iPad you can then go to your purchases in the AppStore.

Click download on them, it will ask if you want it to download the last compatible version of the app with your iOS. Click yes and wait for it to download. Not all apps will work with this method however for the ones I wanted it did besides one game, no biggie.

Bought briefly for my daughter to use before buying her a phone for high school. Can’t sign into apple to either download my account or make her her own. Just says unable to at this moment. Tried several times since Xmas, in several different ways.

Ipad is in great condition but sadly completely useless to me and I’m out of pocket twice as will have to replace it in someway. Can’t be used as connot download any apps for her without icloud. Yes I know it’s an older model but should still be able to download ickoud accounts.

This mini is an early generation but does all that I need it to do. I got it for the sole purpose of writing. I’ll stick with my Chromebook for everything else. Not being computer savvy, it has taken a bit of time to adjust to the Apple.

The Pages app that my Apple expert recommed as perfect for writing is no longer available. There are several other choices though. If anything, the choices that I have all do much more than I need. This, however, is not a bad reflection on the mini.

As the title states, this tablet is doing well so far. This iPad, paired with the magic keyboard cover, works adequate enough to act as a bridge between a mobile device and a full on laptop. I’ll share more details on that in the product page for the cover.

As for the device itself, it’s pretty zippy- no lags to speak of. I haven’t tried the camera on the back yet, but I already have camera shots handled by my phone anyway so that wasn’t a factor in my decision on this particular tablet.

Nice and light, but feels like it can take a bump or two before failure so you don’t have to worry about having this surrounded by bubble wrap before getting a case in it. Screen is nice and bright, speakers are sufficient for what I need it for.

It should go without saying that a screen protector should be placed on it- I personally have a Paperlike brand on mine that feels great despite a few air bubbles due to user error. 256 GB of space is definitely a plus due to Apple products not having any way of expanding storage in device itself.

And the cellular connection works great for me but YMMV based on which carriers work where you live. If you are searching for a sophisticated camera system that can replace a professional camera, this isn’t the right one for you.

Meanwhile, if you’re searching for a solid choice for a versatile all-rounder tablet that can double as a basic laptop in a pinch, you won’t be given a hard time choosing the iPad Air!.

My husband and I each have an Apple IPad for our family business. This tablet runs on the IOS operating system. We own IPhone 12 minis and I used to own a MacBook. Once you have used this operating system, you can use any of these products.

They are all pretty much the same, just different sizes. This screen is 10. 1 inches and is so easy to use. My kids and I love watching movies on the large screen. This IPad in particular has a lot of space on it, which is great for our business, as we take alot of pictures.

I would recommend Apple products! They are so easy to use and well made.

I’ve had it with iPads. I recently replaced my iPad with a new iPad Air, with all the bell and whistles, because the screen would constantly freeze. So now, after six months with my new iPad Air, and it’s doing the same thing.

I’ll be reading on the Kindle app and it freezes and I can’t turn the page. I’ll be in the middle of composing an email message, or making a query on Goggle, and it freezes. You wait for a minute or two and it unfreezes.

The five minutes later it freezes again. I’ve tried all the “fixes” to no avail. I’ve mentioned this issue with several other iPad owners and I’m hearing that this is pretty much common with the iPad line.

And using Apple Tech Support is unbelievable! That’s like having a root canal without pain killer, performed by a non-English speaker. I spent four hours talking to five different people (two of which spoke very poor English) and ended up with a new tech person who asked me “now what seems to be your problem”? This after four hours? No more iPads for me.

I’m done!.

Pros: Great battery life, up to 8 hours with the combination of smart keyboard and bluetooth being on pretty much 24/7 so I can use the apple pencil any moment. Touch ID compatibility makes everything faster.

Multi-tasking is with the 10. 5 size is okay for me, floating an app is too small though/. Size and weight is perfect for replacing my bulky notebook and contains my uni textbooks which are all far too heavy and space consuming to have physically.

Chose iOS over android and other OS this time for some quality apps that I’ve been eyeing before I bought this iPad for my attempt to go paperless and I am loving them. I previously bought a 12 inch surface pro 4 (i5, 4gb ram, 128gb) and the performance of this iPad just walked all over it.

I also had a surface pen and the apple pencil is much more responsive plus the iOS apps for drawing or writing are more optimized for their purpose so they work really well unlike the ungodly lags I experienced with surface pro, not to mention how heavy it was and the flimsy kickstand making me wary whenever I put too much pressure on the surface at the “studio” angle.

The surface pen might be nice because you don’t have to charge it but you gotta remember to stock up on its battery unlike the apple pencil which just needs to plug into the iOS device and it’ll be 100% in a matter of 5 mins or so (I didn’t pay attention but it definitely never took more than a few mins).

It’s like one use plastic bag vs re-usable bags for life, though you could could probably use a rechargeable battery but meh. Cons: Onscreen keyboard has no tab key unlike in the 11. 5 inch ipad pro which I use frequently when typing down notes while using the pencil to draw diagram so an iOS problem which can be fixed by an app from the store but nothing beats quality from the original designed which is disappointing.

It’s iOS, no extra micro sd for extra space unlike most android based products, meaning you’re limited to whatever storage you buy and the stock iCloud which requires getting a subscription if you want more space, though you could go free with other cloud storage providers who allows you more.

There’s also getting a usb stick but honestly not appealing if you want to charge your iPad or pencil because it only has 1 port for such task, and then you can probably get a splitter but I wanted to go paperless by purchasing this with the minimal amount of carrying stuff so that would add to it.

I was bummed out to find that there was no 128 gb version for the 10. 5 iPad air so I settled with 64 gb due to budget. So far it holds everything I need in terms of apps and files. You will be left with around 53 gb free storage out of 64 after the first setup with apps and software updates.

My last iPad was the 3rd generation and 9 years old before the useful software gave us (machine still works) to constant updates. So I was determined to to ensure that the new device was using the latest processor and I am not disappointed with its processing capabilities.

What has surprised me is that file sizes have grown so if I was buying again I would have gone for a larger storage, which then puts it into the Pro category. Having said that though, as long as you have internet connection, everything can go on the cloud and the exchange with my main “Mac” works brilliantly.

The USB-C connection leaves the door open to portable external storage also. So what am using this for? Combined with the Logitech Combo Touch, it effectively makes this a laptop. I am using all the MS 365 suite, media streaming and using my iPhone 13 to tether and it works really well.

It works exceptionally well with no delay between apps and being able to use a pencil makes it easy to sign stuff / take notes and doodle. In summary, I recommend, but be careful about ensuring it meets your storage needs, particularly if using “offline”, at which point the Pro becomes a realistic choice.

Bought to replace a 7 year old ipad air 2 64gb which had begun flashing red screen and about to die. It was very easy to transfer the contents of the old to the new by bluetooth, and unlike itunes copied the entire contents including settings.

But, in reality and all the puff about 60% faster processors, it doesn’t work noticeably faster. The screen isn’t much improved if at all. Same for photos. The keyboard is still poor. Editing scrolls the text to the top or bottom for no reason and you have to find your place.

Really annoying. Words spelt wrong at the end of line still don’t offer alternatives. Some obvious spelling errors don’t show up at all. Selecting text is variable, sometimes just not offering the available options.

It costs over £100 more than the old one for the same ungenerous 64 RAM when every other device gets cheaper. There is no option for 128GB and the 256 is prohibitively expensive. The loss of a home button makes things harder, eg screen shots, using off and volume simultaneously.

50% success rate. Swiping up has multiple functions and is hit and miss. I stuck with ipad only as it’s how all my files photos etc are stored. Poor value for money and nothing to get excited about.

I got this ipad because i didnt want to get an iphone. I have a Samsung so i didnt want to switch but wanted to communicate with my family through face time when needed. It works out so perfect. it fits perfectly in my purse.

it doese not have wifi but if there is free wifi avalible then you can just connect to your phone wifi if you have it avalible. i rate this product very sleek , reliable and independant. Thank you Qvc for allowingme to make payments to get what i need and not feel broke.

Needed more memory as my old mini had got rather slow, and use these all the time! Nice, neat portable size, easy to find reasonable case for storage and protection. Much faster connecting to my home network and was able to transfer everything from the old iPad myself- so easy! I’m no computer geek, but this is so user friendly it’s amazing! Ultra slim lightweight and the clearer display is better for me as I’m partially sighted.

I love the mini as it’s so easy to put in my handbag on the go and take away if I travel, helping me keep up to date with emails and online banking,too. Went for the space grey, as didn’t want anything too girly, so worth the extra money as had a voucher to use and John Lewis guarantees are good.

Highly recommend this, worth it for the extra features and memory size.

The Apple iPad mini 2019 really is a super bit of kit. Packed with features, things have really moved on quite a pace since our iPad 2, also bought from John Lewis and which still performs well, considering its longevity.

However, the much more portable size of the iPad mini means it can fit more easily into a bag or even a large pocket and, therefore very handy when travelling. The excellent screen and graphics are a joy and the pre-installed apps are instantly responsive.

The dual camera is an especially great feature. I am impressed with its specification, build quality and performance. As with all things Apple, it is a little pricey but considering what you actually get for your money, it’s still a great buy, especially when the John Lewis second year warranty, supplied as standard, is taken into account.

I bought the iPad mini 3 on release for my mom, since she was wanting a tablet, and she has been using it every single day since then! For an aging lady whose eyesight is slowly deteriorating, she loves that the iPad mini is easier for her to read than on her phone.

She just loves watching videos on there, and ESPECIALLY loves saving recipes! My mom is quite an avid cook, and for her to be able to easily look up and zoom in on recipes as she’s busy in the kitchen with messy hands is the greatest convenience.

So, for my fellow Apple fans with busy moms, I highly recommend the iPad mini!.

I brought this iPad for my 4 year old brother with hopes he could stop using my phone for his entertainment. So I tried to download all his games on it, but as soon as I started downloading the first games I noticed how slow the iPad was moving.

It was lagging and the games would take forever to load. He also uses it for FaceTime, but with that he doesn’t get any notifications that people are calling and he also doesn’t get text messages. When he’s on FaceTime it randomly goes back to the home screen while the person on the line says it reads “poor connection” on their end.

I understand it’s refurbished so it’s not brand new but I wasn’t expecting so many issues. I should’ve just brought it from the Apple store.

Before you do anything with the iPad you receive do a factory reset! Mine came ready to go, and with apps that I cant find in the App Store installed. Im not sure what the deal was there, but if youre mildly concerned about your information getting out to third parties without you knowing then make sure you restor it to factory settings before you log into anything.

As for the actual iPad itself, I chose to save a few bucks and went with the 16G option. I feel like that was a mistake. The performance is slow, and it doesnt leave much room for you to save work on your iPad.

Youll have to use one of the file sharing clouds like Dropbox for any large files. The operating system itself takes up about 5 gigs of data. The iPad itself is in like new condition with only a few very light minor scuffs and surface scratches likely from handling.

Overall Im good with the purchase, but if I had to do it over again I would opt for the 128Gig option.

I have a retina iPad but its pretty much only been good for media, games and email. I got this gen3 for writing and art. Paired with an Apple Pencil and a brydge keyboard it is PERFECT for my needs. Way better combo than a MacBook for art and everything together is still less expensive than one too! The only thing I miss is the headphone jack.

iPad pro gen3 is supper responsive and runs all my apps well. Scrivener and Affinity are a perfect fit. Battery easily lasts a work day so I just plug it in at night and were good to go in the morning.

I used to be tethered to my desktop and Wacom cintiq but now I can go anywhere and be comfortable while I work! Will buy again.

For media content great, but if you web surf with aging eyes its just plain terrible. There’s a few ways to try tweak past the readability issues, but most are inconsistent and way more trouble than grabbing my android phone that allows readable web page formatting no matter the browser.

I can browse and read more clearly on my Android phone than can my Ipad Pro with much bigger screen. Be careful to review for your personal use what you will use for. Way more apps on IOS but miss my Galaxy tab that gifted away over this recently purchased Ipad Pro.

The Ipad Pro has great hardware, tons of apps, and is a great media streamer. Unfortunately I am grabbing my android phone to internet surf comfortably more often than not and leaving an expensive purchase to sit.

There is a lot of searches and reviews on the web dealing with this particular issue over years.

It has been incredible owning and using the 12. 9 inch iPad Pro. I got mine used and with the folio keyboard so for me it was an exceptional value. I have been an Apple only user since the early 2000s so cross compatibility on devices has been seamless.

The large screen is phenomenal for reading, taking notes (which I do a lot of), and multitasking (which I also do a lot of). I put a paper like screen protector on (off brand) which definitely improves the Apple Pencil experience (and my handwriting).

It is light, powerful, large-screened, and just incredibly useful. I would highly recommend the 12. 9 size for note taking and multitasking, as I upgraded from an older iPad Pro 10. 5 (2nd gen) to this one for the needed screen real estate.

I have not been disappointed. Battery seems to last all day with plenty of reserve by night. Overall, I am very pleased!.

I bought this model for myself on Fathers Day and absolutely love it! I have accessed and updated my work files through Google drive, Evernote, and Dropbox. I read the news, search the web, manage photo albums in my iCloud image library, and check the weather.

I’ve watched videos from YouTube and other streaming services while sending the audio to external speakers through Bluetooth. I prefer using this device rather than my laptop because of its speed (M1 processor) and sharp display.

My purchase included a Logitech Combo Touch iPad Pro Keyboard Folio and an Apple Pencil, and they all work great together. I often operate for days on a single battery charge. I have nearly ninety apps installed and still have over 223 Gb available.

iPad Pro 256 GB was shipped in a plastic bag with a thin layer of bubble wrap which did not protect the Apple box. The box was dented on the edges and corners. Problem with this is, when I eventually move on to a newer product and choose to sell this iPad, whoever buys it will see the banged up box.

Making the iPad less valuable. It is not the first issue with products being shipped by BB. There have been several in the last few months which have been packaged very poorly. Have been buying Apple products for years.

However, was apprehensive, and still am, about this product. Not because of the packaging. The product did work out of the box and appears to be unaffected. Apple has been obsoleting products through software, so I am nervous that they will obsolete this iPad sooner rather than later.

I’ve had every iPad Pro except the 12 inch big boy models but these new iPads with the (iPhone 11 camera) have been my favorite so far. I love how thin they are and how lightweight they are as well. This model is identical to the 2020 model of the iPad Pro 11 so you can’t really tell them apart but with the M1 chip all the power is under the hood on this guy.

For those who don’t know, it uses USB Type C to charge so MacBook users, Galaxy users, and anyone else who has Type C devices will benefit from this. This iPad has a big battery so it’ll last all day, mine is used for media consumption so Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Starz, ShowTime and mostly YouTube.

I’m a gamer as well so this large screen is a perfect companion if you have a Xbox one or Series S or X and like to use the streaming feature that lets you stream your Xbox game in real-time from your console as long as you are on the same WiFi network as your Xbox.

Honestly this thing is great for gaming especially with the refresh rate on it so get you a flip case and a Bluetooth controller, prop it up and game on. Can’t talk about the iPad without mentioning the 4 super loud and clear stereo speakers, they will fill up a room and to take full advantage of the stereo surround sound, turn your iPad sideways while watching HD content and you’ll notice the difference.

Having had the iPad Air 2 for more than 5 years now it was starting to show its age with some slow downs and with one of the kids having the better screen of the iPad Air 4th gen I finally decided to go for the iPad Pro instead of the air for a little bit extra.

I have been impressed by the responsiveness and speed of carrying out typical browsing and reading tasks with everything snappy. I have also taken advantage of the LiDAR Scanner to scan some rooms of the house for diy renovation projects with a free piece of software on the App Store (also options for IKEA etc.

for home decorating) which was really straightforward to capture and generate 3D models as well as measurements. Something I couldnt have done with the new Air. Watching movies and tv series is a much improved experience with the 4 stereo speakers sounding pretty decent with much better bass.

So far I havent tried to use a keyboard and mouse to see how it is as a laptop replacement which would (or should) be an option for many people. support for mice and keyboards and now with office software easily available this should be a more portable option for many.

The files app has also improved but still not as flexible as on macOS but still more than usable for creating folders and files and navigating around. The lack of some pro apps such as Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro etc.

may still out people off but there are a huge variety of apps and Im sure in time the additional power of the pro will be used by some of the professional apps. All in all a great machine with a lot of power on the go.

I liked this iPad so much a bought 2. This one for me to do office work and to use as an interaction tool with my son – we color pictures, play learning games, etc… and if anyone is looking for that reason, Apple Arcade is awesome for young kids, but the you don’t necessarily need the pro to take advantage of it! And one for my wife with larger storage for her video editing work… We’re both really looking forward to the new iPad OS updates, though an iPad is still not a replacement for an actual laptop with a proper OS.

iPad has come a long way, but I need to be able to connect multiple drives, offload mem cards from different cameras for on site back up, and preview various video formats on a regular basis. For that kind of work, the iPad isn’t the right tool, but for everything else the iPad is pretty great and the m1 is a really nice chip to be working with for this kind of format.

I originally bought the new iPad Air because it has the m1 as well now, but after taking a step back realized how many more features the pro line gives you for basically the same price as the Air with upgraded storage – which is what I almost bought.

The pro-motion display is tangibly nice to work with, the full thunderbolt 4 port – though hampered by the OS – is great to have in the right situations, and my son and I also like the on board speakers and sound quality over other models like the Air.

In general, it’s just a little nicer in just the right places so that you feel like you’re working with the best iPad has to offer, and the price to performance ratio starting at 128gigs instead of 64 is perfect for everyday use.

My previous iPad was the standard model (not a Pro or Air) from 2017 or 18 when they first introduced stylus support… Honestly for a device that gets switched out every 3-5 years, iPads are pack leaders for a reason, and since iPad OS will most likely never cross over to the standard Mac OS despite carrying similar specs, I plan on using this one for another 3-5 years before I even consider upgrading again – The 11inch is the prefect size for durability with reduced surface area that’s still easy to protect and maintain amazing overall performance, these things also run forever and I’m looking forward to putting my first pro model through it’s paces 🙂 Lastly, the M series processors also mark a massive shift in the apple mobile line up, I suspect it’ll be a while before app developers can consider the m1 specs to be the new standard moving forward, so older iPads can stay relevant, but when they do eventually make that shift, m1 will be the new standard not m2 or 3 or 4, meaning if you pick this up now you’ll get the longest possible development support for iPad going forward, that’s how big of shift this is compared to previous generations :).

I absolutely love my iPad Pro 11 inch 3rd generation 256gb with the M1 chip. I love using this iPad for streaming, photo slideshows, and especially note taking for college. I traded in my 256gb iPad Mini 6 for the iPad Pro 11 inch 3rd gen because I started feeling like my iPad Mini was way too small for note taking, amazing for portability though, but I totally love having the 2.

7 inch wider screen difference than having a mini sized iPad. Amazing, all day battery (and then some), outstanding sound and audio quality with Dolby Atmos. Yes, the M1 chip has a lot of power compared to an iPhone and an intel MacBook/iMac, but with all of that raw and amazing power comes outstanding graphics, amazing sound quality, and very smooth screen resolution.

If you’re deciding between an M1 chip iPad Air 256gb or an M1 chip iPad Pro 256gb whether it be the 11 inch or 12. 9 inch model, trust me when I say this, paying the extra $50-$150 for the Pro model iPad is absolutely worth it especially if you’re trading in a slightly older iPad like I did that has a $300+ trade in value.

Also, as far as a weight comparison goes, compared to the iPad Mini 6, even though the iPad Mini 6 is light as a feather, the Pro model iPad is literally only a 0. 3-0. 5 pound heavier than the iPad Mini 6, but I don’t feel the weight difference between the 2 iPad models at all.

One last thing, the Pro model iPad is so much sleeker and thinner and nowhere near as bulky on the bezels as the iPad mini 6 and iPad Air 4/5 are.

I use a iPad at work, and also on my off time. 64 GB of storage is plenty for me, although truly hardcore users might want more than this. Props to them, but for most this is more than enough. Apps and games, at least the basic ones, really don’t take up too much space.

The iPad is my favorite tablet, as it reminds me of my iPhone. Same interface and intuitive functions. The colors are vibrant. It’s unreal how the graphics measure up. Whether playing a game, or watching a video this is fantastic.

Also I like the processor speed too. No buffering when connected to a excellent Wi-Fi, and the battery life is impeccable. It charges fast, and if you don’t use it, weeks of battery. Obviously with apps and games going, I’m finding 12 to 16 hours of use.

I’m sure there are newer ones that might go further, but this should be fine. This is one durable computer device. Yes as the picture shows, I fully recommend the otter box or other protective device.

With this there have been some drops, but not one crack or any signs of the OS going nuts. If you have kids, this is wonderful, as the cloud also can help. Monitoring their usage is a cinch. Definitely a family friendly tablet.

The interface works well for typing also.

This was an upgrade from my old iPad so I am familiar with the interface and Apps. It arrived in high quality, sleek packaging which was minimal. Set up was straight forward and the iPad led the way with clear instructions.

Everything that was on my old iPad (in Cloud) was simply transferred to the new one. This is why I use Apple products (and keep them till almost obsolete) because I need clear, obvious, user friendly design.

The device in black is very slim, light and high quality feel. It’s simple and elegant in design. When using it is quick to respond and the fingerprint security (plus password) is very good. The screen is clear and doesn’t strain my eyes easily.

I’m not a tech savvy whizz and I don’t play games so I can only comment on basic, everyday, use and based on that I am very happy with it. For an easy to use, quality, light and very responsive tablet that is easy on the eyes I have no hesitation in recommending this iPad.

The tablet has good parental controls so nothing can be downloaded without permission and requests are sent to linked iPhones so we can approve them when we aren’t in the room or even the same house which is handy when child in someone else’s care.

We use iMessage to stay in contact. I have two complaints; one is that it was wiped clean back to factory settings before being gifted but somehow comes up with the previous users info now and then as an autofill suggestion, luckily it’s just a family member and not a data protection concern from us in that respect, however this shouldn’t happen and it’s confusing as to why it does when it was fully reset.

The second complaint is that multiple times when trying to log in to Apple ID with the tablet pin code (forgot the password) it refuses to acknowledge that the pin code is correct despite using it to log on to the tablet every day and can be really frustrating when trying to reset the password.

Both those points lose a star for me.

This tablet tab a7 is the most secure tablet. By far I will never own another apple people was hacking it by coming in through icloud knox is commerical grade with mcafee I had argued with apple how they have no security they are such a joke I kept seeing other devices signed in to icloud ios watch phones pcs they said thats normal I have been working with the state police cyper describe he said that 2 factor authentication is far too easy to crack they have a neither and a cousin who called my phone carrier and said sim card was bad so att helped them activate my phone number it was redirected my phone calls and apple don’t tell you if you are signed into icloud your I messages ARE NOT ENCREPTED only if you are not signed into icloud.

This went on for two years and apple laughed be off saying they can’t be hacked this tablet has has not gave me any trouble the 3weeks I had it. Apple just had another security breech last month a big one over 600000 iphones and ipads people have figured how to hack them 12 years no kind of virus protection they got figured out I told apple why don’t they secure the federal reserve they get hacked everyday hell apple stock would spilt over and over I rate them with a kindle.

You shouldn’t have to ca the state police to figure out apples problems on their platform. this are not cheap tablets more time is put in the security then a ios device they burn knox security platform into the device and the mcafee is extra security 4 years of updates on mcafee.

As an experienced iPad user I looked around for a replacement for my ageing mini iPad 2. I settled on the new 10. 2″ 64GB iPad2021. Ebay (and especially the marketplace section on Facebook!) were awash with adverts for every type of iPad.

It was confusing to see adverts for this iPad advertising it second hand for far more than John Lewis were asking for it new – whilst also saying they got it from John Lewis! Bonkers or what? Ordering it was easy, but waiting was not.

Instant gratification had to be delayed whilst I was electronically assured it was in stock & the order accepted/ dispatched / tracked/ imminently to arrive. It is a while since I opened a brand new Apple device and I had forgotten how much attention is paid to the initial look and feel of the product.

Everything tells you this is a special product to be treated with due reverence. Well, blow that for a game of cards! I was instantly on it starting it up and seeing what such a bigger screen looked like (fantastic!) and how responsive it was (light years faster than my old iPad mini!).

But although it was the same basic system, iOs15 is also very different from my older machine – a veritable racehorse next to a nodding donkey. So don’t be surprised to hear that the former nodding donkey owner is constantly being ambushed by a system that seems a lot smarter than he is.

Things ‘happen’ on screen and you wonder why, and how to reverse them too? Don’t get me wrong – I wouldn’t go back for a moment, but this horse trainer has some serious learning to do before I get the best out of my new machine.

Of course, I had to get a keyboard for it and chose the Logitech Rugged Folio case. Logitech claims the materials ‘exceed military-standard drop tests. ‘ Somehow I can’t bring myself to put this claim to the test, I’m just content with the greater protection and flexibility of use it offers.

In short – it was a great buy at a great price but also it also requires people like me (72 years young) to have a bit of an ‘owners upgrade’ – I wonder if John Lewis offers one of those too?.

This iPad is currently the least expensive current model offered by Apple, and it’s sufficient for just about any general task. The core chip (A13) is nearly three years old as of the time of this review (May 2022), but it’s a very capable CPU.

If all you’re looking to do is basic web browsing, email checking, streaming music and/or videos, and using social media apps, this tablet is plenty for your needs. If you’re doing more specialized tasks, such as photo editing, music creation, or anything else which might eat up storage, you might want to look for a model with more than 64GB of storage.

Despite Apple having a good track record of providing OS updates for their devices far longer than what’s offered by its Android counterparts, the lack of storage expansion and the difficulty involved with replacing the battery effectively make this a disposable device.

I cringe when I think of the millions of these devices that will be in the landfill in ten years. Despite Apple’s efforts at providing a recycling program, the reality is that very few people will use that option.

Instead, Apple should move to a design which allows for an end-user replaceable battery to keep the device usable for years to come. (PS – it’s also time to ditch the lightning connector and fully move to USB-C!).
