Gave one star because it’s a nice phone. Phone set up with straight talk was quick. But incorrect. I have no LTE reception unless there’s an internet connection. Which means the device is useless for navigation listening to music searching for info.

Also to phone will often not accept incoming calls or allow me to make out going calls which means missed important messages. When I reboot the phone it usually fixes the phone issue but to little to late.

As for iconver support, there are no warm bodies to be found. Iconvert did email me a line by line description of the correct phone set up, which is different from my phone. I talked to straight talk on a least 6 different occasions to correct the issue and was only able to get the phone properly set up.

Because I’m on a fixed income smashing the phone and buying another isn’t an option. I want a new correctly set up to straight talk phone as advertised. Other wise run don’t walk to another company to purchase a device.

I was happy with this phone so far. It’s a bit of a downgrade from my aging Galaxy s model but to be honest I didn’t see much of a difference between this one and the flagships. The phone quality is as good as the S models.

It does have a plastic back but if you are going to use a case it’s no big deal. The processor speed fits my needs. If you are a big gamer or social media user you may need to charge your phone more often.

But for me even on my heavy Social media usage days I still have enough battery life to get me through the day. Overall the phone fit my needs. The cameras work well and take clear photos. The call quality is clear and I haven’t had any dropped calls.

I liked the option for the expandable storage as well. I will not that the phone does not include a SIM card or a charging block. Set up on my current cell provider was a breeze so I haven’t had any real issues as of yet.

I am relatively happy with my purchase. I should have done some research on the model I bought before I purchased it. The battery life isn’t the greatest and thats okay. I just should have done a little more home work.

I did get it hooked up per the company’s instructions. It took a day and a half to get all bugs worked out instead of the 15 minute hook up that was advertised. But I did get it hooked up and everything working, so thats all good.

It came with a 128GB SD Card instead of the 256GB that I purchased. There again no big deal just like to get what a person purchased. I haven’t contacted the company yet I wanted to use the phone for a few weeks before I left a comment.

All in all, I would recommend iconvertwireless to anyone looking for a new phone to replace the old jolopy with. Thank You!.

I bought this case for my wife because of the design and the quality of OtterBox products. I first bought this same case for our daughter’s S7 Edge which I then turned around and bought for the S8. Personally, I am an OtterBox Defender fan but for some women/girls its hard to get them interested in a case that is big/bulky or whatever you want to say as the defender.

The defender has never let me down! In all honestly, I was at first hesitant if the case could/would provide protection – that was until I received it in the mail. I was shocked with the quality of the case.

The case is made exceptionally well and comes in various designs that is appealing to practically any woman/girl. If you were like me and thought this case would not provide protection for your phone – look no further because it will!!.

I was sent one for a galaxy s8+. I ordered one for a galaxy s8 my phone is at least 5 yrs old and I loved the otter box that came with it. It has been awesome protection for my phone. The cover you sent me doesn’t fit anything I have I am not wasting my time returning.

I just won’t order anything else.

The product arrived in great condition, it was new and properly packaged. The case itself is decent, but does not offer the absolute best protection. It should be viewed as the low-end of medium-sized cases, quite slim but not as slim as the skin-like cases, nor as bulky as the ‘armor’ cases.

The case can be slippery but I think it is not as slippery as many people claim it is. There are no occasions where I feel like it’s going to drop from my hand, although it could be possible if I am not paying attention.

It’s a good middle ground for someone who wants some protection without too much bulk. Regardless, do not expect your phone to survive ANY kind of drop/hit. I have not dropped my S8 so far, so I cannot say how it fares, but many other users with the Neo Hybrid report their phone survived.

This is very much based on luck, so do not look for precise answers. I also decided to try out Slim Armor for S8 from Spigen and will be choosing between the two when it arrives.

I have had a succession of Spigen cases for my phones. SII, S4, S7 and now the S8. I was looking for an alternative – just to get something different for a change. I even ended up getting a cheap case from the local Vodafone store.

But nothing really grabbed me. So I went back online and bought the Neo Hybrid, figuring I might as well just stick with what I know. Happy I did. The case looks and feels fantastic. Better than all the cases I was looking at in the stores.

It slips in the pocket easily. Much smoother than the S7 Neo Hybrid case, without being slippery. It’s very lightweight, but strong and fits like a glove to the phone. I am not sure if I am a fan of the S8 curved screen, but I will see if it grows on me.

The screen looks a little exposed for my liking, but that is not Spigen’s doing. All in all, another great offering from Spigen. Now if only they could get their tempered glass screen protectors sorted out for anything not flat.

I was surprised about the features, how they worked oposit way that I have expected, and that is: was expected great safety, and there is no safety. Phone has dropped to floor, about 1 meter high, and corner of glass is broken.

It is completely impossible, looking how this product is advertised. And other – design, button pressing force is very great, buttons are working like without any case, very easy and light.

Great refurbished S8. I noticed it has one small scratch on the screen and there is slight burn-in at the bottom app tray area, but both are barely noticeable unless you’re actively looking for them and don’t bother me at all.

Despite being a phone from 2017, the Galaxy S8 still looks and feels very modern and it’s a bargain being able to buy a phone this good for ~$110. It does everything you can do on a phone with ease, very snappy and plays 1080p video effortlessly.

I bought this phone to replace a Galaxy S8 that I had dropped and cracked the screen on. I like the S8 so much that I just had to get another. I popped out my AT.

By far the best solution for “MY” s8+. Have yet to find compatible case and screen protector combination from several top expensive brands. Tried LifeProof’s own OtterBox Defender and Commuter with their Alpha-Glass twice, but couldn’t handle edges lifting and lint collecting underneath.

From memory/ opinion the Fre is smaller than Defender and includes built in screen protector. Feels similar in size to Commuter. I am 6′ 3″ 240lbs and it is jean and cargo pants pocket friendly. The contour of screen protector isn’t perfect and there is a tactile/audible gap between display and plastic that’s most noticeable above curves.

It can be annoying especially if not used to it. Wife and daughter don’t appreciate the benefits vs. annoyance. Lint does collect between screen protector and case bezel which Lifeproof could surely remedy easily by placing bead of adhesive along it.

That being said; it’s my favorite solution. I frequently am in dusty and sandy environments, but have “no worries ” about anything getting into ports, microphones, and speakers. Audio is clear and communication isn’t hindered at all by construction.

Notifcation vibration isn’t dampened much if any. Charges wirelessly in landscape orientation without effort with both Samsung’s 2016 and 2017 fast upright, wireless chargers. Portrait orientation requires some sweet spot search efforts with 2016 model, but works fine with extra coils in 2017 convertible version.

I like holsters, but didn’t take advantage of 50% Lifeproof accessories discount because I believe, possibly mistakenly, that adhesive mount would interfere with wireless charging Screen protector is visibly clear and unobtrusive with most images , but what I imagine are anti-glare properties become visible on white, or light colored backgrounds.

I may add Samsung OEM film screen protector to fill some of physical gap. All in all “MY ” best solution to keep s8+ in perfect condition all the while enjoying any of this beast’s features. Would be “5 stars” if wasn’t for physical gap between display and screen protector.

3 weeks case ownership, and don’t foresee changing until Note 8. Hoping Lifeproof offers similar for Note 8!??? Enjoy!.

This is my second life proof case both for the samsung S8. If you want something stylish this is not the case for you. It is not ugly either. But if you want a case thaT can take a beating then you want this case.

I do blue color work and and a outdoorsman and this case fits my needs. It can take falls with no problems can use my phone in the rain with no problem and keeps my phone clean. In the summer I go the beach,lake, and pool almost all the time and I am more then comfortable with this case in the water and used it to take pictures.

Now the weak points about this case. My first one the buttons that control the volume and on/off button eventually broke which is very annoying because you have to take the case off to use the buttons and that is very annoying and the case is almost useless at that point.

But it will still protect. The other thing the door that covers the charging port can become worn out and open on it is own. The case will still protect but it is not waterproof no more and just water resistant.

The other thing you have to be careful is the door that protects the earphone port can be lost. The case will still protect but no longer water proof and just water resistant. I paid 80. 00 for the first one and just paid 15.

00 for the second one. That is why I bought it the second time. My recommendation is this case if great for the summertime or if you work in a marina or anywhere around water or on a construction site or outdoors.

For me I will use this case this upcoming summer and use a wireless charger at night to cut down the wear and tear on the charging port door. In the winter time for me. I will use an otterbox and tampered glass cover for my phone.

My time outdoors is cut down big time. Now is it worth the 80. 00- 110. 00 for it?? WELL like I said if you work outdoors doing blue collar work like a construction site or if you work by the water. Fisherman,aquarium,lifeguard, marina worker.

To protect a 800. 00 phone yes I think you be nuts not to. For me it is a great case for the summer. And not needed for the cold weather. The reason why I bought it the second time around is my phone is considered obsolete.

lol. So the prices have come way down. I have learned buying a phone is like buying a car. Buy something new and accessories are threw the roof. Buy something new but not the latest model and prices on accessories come way down to almost nothing.

This is the second Lifeproof case I have owned for a Galaxy S – series phone. The first for my S6 was fine and worked adequately. This case, for my S9 is however so bad it makes the phone nearly unusable.

The screen cover sits a millimeter or so above the actual screen and is curved. When you go to touch the screen to make inputs, that “springy” depression of the cover before it contacts the actual glass screen creates unpredictable, incorrect results.

More often than not, the phone just can not read ANYTHING. You can just forget any “Swiping” motion. that will never read correctly. For the same reason, I guess, the fingerprint reader on the back is rendered nearly inoperable.

I have to press my finger on the Bio-reader pad 30 times with significant force to get it to read once. You can actually see that the plastic over the bio reader is distorted. ANY input on the face side of the screen near an edge Top, Bottom, curved right or curved left is absolutely going to at best result in an undesired action, but most of the time, it is just ignored and nothing happens.

I emailed Lifeproof (Otterbox) from their website to see if mine might just be a defective unit versus a really bad design. I have not had so much as an acknowledgement that they received the inquiry.

I can only assume it is a DESIGN and MANUFACTURE problem with the Lifeproof Case for the Samsung Galaxy S9 in general. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CASE and will replace mine even though it is only 2 weeks old.

I dont have this phone but my grandmother just got it In January and i help her with it a lot. I have mixed emotions because I typically love galaxy but this phone is questionable. It works, has nice apps, great space, etc.

but at least twice since she has had the phone we have had to bring it to the store because of Galaxy’s updates causing her phone to black out and not turn on for a whole day. (And the store cant help, tried multiple different locations).

Im talking completely shut off and glitch to where only thing the screen shows is a power off and restart button. And even when you press those it doesnt do anything but remain frozen and black. Idk if we got a faulty phone or what the matter is but more and more its becoming a real inconvenience.

Okay. at first I was hesitant to buy such phone online because I always want to see any gadget I’m buying personally. Plus, this is the first refurbished phone I bought. Anyway, the phone arrived early and it was in a white box that I first thought was my phone case order.

I didn’t expect it to be the phone. It was inside a bubble wrap packet along with a generic charger and key pin for the sim card. 1. The phone was in good condition: clean, scratch free, and with a small sticker on top saying “Qualcommm 4G.

“2. The buttons are funtional: volume, power button and Bixby button working too. 3. Last update from system showed December 2018, so I updated it and it worked. From 8. 0, my software is now 9. 0 Android Pie.

I liked how Samsung made it simple to navigate the phone features with the new update. (Well, it works for me)4. Samsung account working. Bixby working. 5. Health sensor at the back is functional. Fingerprint scanning too! I tried both 😉6.

Camera is really nice! Works like brand new! 🤩7. Charging time took me like 2-3hrs to full battery. Using LTE and sometimes wifi with hotspot, it lasted a day for me. I also tested it on my game, YouTube, and browsing just to observe the battery life span and so far so good.

Bottomline, this unlocked s8 met my expectations. or should I say more! I love it! It’s like brand new phone! No regrets buying from this seller. I had 3 choices and reading reviews multiple times gave me anxiety rather than helping me decide LOL, but one review helped me and I’m glad I’ve decided to choose this seller.

I’m reviewing this base on my one week experience with the phone and so far I’m loving it!.

Good quality phone with great features and performance even compared to more modern models. Nice big screen makes it easy to use, still has traditional 3. 5mm headphone jack to plug into and USB C fast charging take it from empty to almost full in less than an hour, perfect when you need a quick boost.

Vital to have a case as the phone itself is very slim and has a “slippery” feel which given it’s size makes it very easy to drop or knock it accidentally. Have had this phone for 4 years and have no desire to upgrade it yet.

One negative is the pointless Bixby button which has no option to configure it to do something useful instead.

I told everyone I knew about my OtterBox. I have multiple sclerosis and I drop my phone quite a fair deal. The last case I had from you guys was superb not only was my phone always protected from my shaky hand but the phone came with a template so that I could create custom backgrounds for the case.

I wore that case into the ground I loved it so much so when I had to replace it obviously I was going to get another OtterBox. I tried my best to find the phone case that matched my previous one but the customer support service wasn’t able to identify my case.

So after searching I settled on one that I thought was the closest in design. And in this new case my phone is so secure I can’t click any of the side buttons (power or volume) without indenting my fingers.

It takes a couple tries to get my phone to screenshot or to shut off. I haven’t tried getting an image in the back because when I put the case on for the first time trying to get it off felt like I was going to snap the phone.

(I double checked to make sure this is the correct size for my phone and it is. ) While I haven’t lost total faith in OtterBox because my phone does feel safe I am not a happy Otter.

I tried this case out for a Pixel 5. The way that newer Android handles the Back button is to start your thumb from offscreen on the left or right and swipe in toward the center. This case has a bezel sticking out past the screen on all sides of the phone, meaning the natural place to swipe in with your thumb is obstructed by a hard edge, making the Back swipe impossible.

Likewise the Home swipe comes from the bottom, bezel in the way, etc. Otterbox seems to have just issued an iPhone case for an Android phone with no thought to how Androids actually work. It’s fine for the old, pre-gesture interface, but a Pixel 5 or 6 – do not buy an Otterbox case until they’ve figured out how to make one that works.

This was a replacement for for my Symmetry case I bought 5 years ago. These are amazing cases. But they have changed. The volume buttons are difficult to use if you don’t have strength in your hands.

They are still easy to install, hold up under many drops, and easy to hold in your hand. What I don’t like and the reason I almost sent this back is because this particular color I received is not as shown.

It is a tacky (ugly) glittery colored case that I would have never bought. The red I am replacing is no longer an option and the new available options are odd. If you like Star Wars, Mickey Mouse or other cartoon movies…this is the perfect place to shop for a new case.

But the solid color options outside of black, are few. Otterbox, please keep all generations in mind in your designs.

Seems like a good cover. Looks good. But does not fit my samsung S8. Cover is too big for my S8. Too bad. Wad bummed. Re ordered from another company not as good of case but it fit. I understand these things happen.

This case/screen protector is beautiful (I got gold/black). It’s slim design makes it so much easier to hold and put in my purse or pocket. A few “major” flaws with it are, the back clear case is always smudged with finger prints and whatnot and it’s very difficult to it clean (don’t know why)? Also, the screen protector scratches very easily, literally anything will scratch it, never had this happen with any other “screen protector” I’ve had.

So all in all its a very nice combo but I’m very disappointed that it gets scratched so easily. Would I but it again. Probably not, only because of the scratches, if they changed the type of glass they use to a better grade then I definitely would.

*So guys, Upgrade your Screen Protector*.

I have bought several Otterbox cases in the past and have always felt the devices were very well protected. However the new Symmetry cases for the S8 and S8+ are thinner than they were for the Note 5 and S6, and they removed the ‘X’ pattern from the back of the cases.

This case doesn’t make me feel that my phone is protected in case of a drop to the back of the device. Additionally the edge design of the phone itself limits the case manufacturers ability to adequately protect the screen should the device drop onto the edge of a table because they had to eliminate the superior edge protection they have provided on other devices in the past to allow for use of the edge functionality (this is to no fault of the case manufacture, but to Samsung.

In my opinion the edge is pointless and Samsung should eliminate it all together). Finally, the case is slippery and I’m always fearfull it is going to slip out of my hand(s) and fall to the ground. Overall I just don’t feel the protection with this case.

I will consider shopping around for other cases, or possibly upgrading to the defender series. I just don’t want to pay for the clip that I will never use that comes with the defender series and I hate to lose the money I have already paid for the Symmetry case and overnight shipping.

I got this for my dad’s phone since it was a reputable brand and he is a trucker. As you can imagine, the phone has ample opportunity to fall from above human height onto a hard surface. Now, he has used this type of case before on his S5 and had no issues with it, even after such long falls.

And another positive about this model of case is that it’s not that bulky. You can still fit it in your pocket, even a shirt pocket. And now that he’s moved up to the S8+, this new case has done a great job thus far, including allowing the phone to survive smaller falls undamaged.

It also fits the Alpha glass design too quite snugly giving it a very good fit and finish. The one thing I dislike about it though is it doesn’t grab the glass anywhere to help hold it on in high heat situations as a backup to the adhesive.

But regardless, the case itself is quite well built. I would certainly recommend this for protecting your investment so it lasts and gives you a better return on investment of the phone and the case (and glass) as well.

I love Otterbox cases. I’ve always been very happy with the quality and the look. I bought the Symmetry because I wanted something that would protect but not be too bulky or take away the look of my new Galaxy S8+.

I’m still on the fence with this case. The volume buttons are really hard to press. I have to press multiple times before it will actually work. I’m hoping I just have to “break” in the case and in time it will get easier.

I’m also a little concerned with the front face of the phone not being fully protected on the edges like with other cases but that could just be because of the style of the phone. I haven’t dropped my phone yet so I haven’t been able to see how the case will hold up and protect.

Giving it some time to see if it will protect as well as other cases I’ve had. I’ll update my review later.

This tablet is absolutely amazing! Initial impressions after setting this tablet up are that it’s super thin, light and seems very durable with it’s metal frame. It looks and feels premium! Upgrading to this from the Tab S7 seems like there isn’t much difference on the outside but I can honestly say that this tablet feels faster, has a better display, and even sounds a little better than the last gen of this same tablet.

I would say that if you’re on the fence between this an an iPad I would say that you’ll have just as good of an experience in terms of software as Samsung has done a nice job streamlining the software so you can setup and get going in minutes.

I actually like the feel of the S-Pen on this tablet far better than any I’ve used so far. In terms of the pen and writing, it really seems more responsive and to me feels more natural because it’s so much more responsive.

As far as connectivity goes, the WiFi speeds are fast and the reception is overall solid. In fact, one odd thing is that my Tab S7 sometimes has WiFi reception issues in my living room but this tablet has not had that issue at all.

You can easily expand storage on it with the MicroSD and add significant storage to the tablet. I often keep media and photos/videos on one and then use internal memory for apps and games. Many software titles on Android work well with SD Storage and let you configure where media is stored separate from the app itself so having expandable memory is an easy thing to do an manage.

The display is very bright and vibrant and with it’s high variable high refresh rate it looks good and feels good when scrolling through web pages or media. You can attach a second display through USB-C and even multi-task where you can watch videos on one display and do email on the other with Samsung Dex which is not something you can do or even do well on any other tablet out there.

The best part is you can even charge while using the second display all through the same cable, it’s TRULY AMAZING! The USB C charging and data port is a welcomed feature as it charges fast and lets you quickly transfer media to your computer and really as fast as your microSD card will read data off of it.

There is no headphone jack so that would be the one thing I’d keep in mind if you still prefer to use wired headphones. The last thing is how fast this tablet is, apps just snap up when your load them and updating apps used to take a fair amount of time for 20-30 apps and this tablet blazes through them in on a few minutes.

It’s OTA software update only took a matter of minutes also, so Samsung has clearly done things to optimize the software and the processor is just simply faster than any other out there. Battery life is amazing, you can surf the internet an watch movies on Netflix for hours without any problem.

In the time I’ve had with it I’ve yet to run it dead in the middle of doing something and feel confident I could go anywhere with it and not worry about it running dead. The fast charging also helps make that task an easy quick thing when you need a quick boost on power.

Overall, this tablet is simply amazing! Having owned iPads previously, I can say with every bit of confidence that this tablet is better than any other out there right now. It makes consuming media, or doing things a breeze, and with a keyboard (and even mouse) you can have a laptop-like experience.

Using Samsung Dex, is amazing and makes this tablet a lot more than just a tablet replacing many laptops!.

The case has just arrived and first impressions are good. I already had a Samsung Clearview case but had a couple of concerns about the case not protection the phone 100% all the way around, the lack of magnetic or other closure of the front flap and I felt it looks a bit bling for my liking.

The tech21 case is about as thick as the Samsung Clearview case when in bumper only mode. With the front flap it gets a bit thicker still depending what you put in the card/cash slots – there is one more slot than I expected in this section which makes it more useful.

They section flaps open to reveal a card slot and a smaller slot for a some notes folded up. They have added magnetic closure for this flap which is a neat solution. The overall height and width is obviously increased a bit as there is a decent bumper that goes all the way around the phone, top and bottom which again adds more protection.

I actually dropped my phone on the driveway yesterday and was a millimetre away from damaging the bottom edge near the ports of the phone which are fairly unprotected in the Samsung case but this case would have taken it no problems at all.

I don’t know how much I will use it without the front flap on as I have broken screens in the past by using rear-only bumper cases which don’t cover thescreen. I daresay the flap will stay on most of the time as it all bends and folds easily enough to use the phone with it on.

It is also a very secure clasp that actually physically clips in place and is not magnetic as I had expected. I daresay the physical clipping of a clasp in place is more secure than magnets but it does mean you have to remember to close the clasp before you drop it or it could still flap open.

The only disappointment for me was the lack of smart opening/unlocking the phone as you open the case. This means you have to press the power button to wake the device which does take a very firm press – the thick bumper means there is a connecting button within the case which is stiff and doesn’t seem very easy to press in the right place to get it to work at the moment but it may improve with use.

The other buttons are stiff too. The mechanism for taking off the flap and fitting the fill in section is a wee bit fiddly at first and may not be the most robust. It’s a shame it’s not a magnetic system or something so it could be a bit quicker and easier but again the flap and case feel secure in either mode so it is doing it’s job.

I definitely feel like I could drop the phone in this case (with the front secured properly) and it wouldn’t get damaged. The thick bumpers and solid (if ever so slightly thick) front would protect the phone from all angles and I really feel it is a good safe case.

It’s just a shame the front isn’t magnetic – a combination of the clasp and magnetic closure would be best in my view – fairly safe if you forget the clasp and super safe if you remember the clasp. It does look a wee bit utilitarian as well but I actually like the styling – it’s quite a subtle and stealthy kind of look like tactical hardware type stuff but with an air of smarter business wear too.

It wouldn’t look out of place anywhere basically. It also works fine with full front and rear Screenknight screen protectors (which are the best protectors for curved screens imo) and doesn’t catch any edges so you can still be protected that way as well.

It even comes in a nicely presented box (with nice magnetic closure I might add!) With good clear instructions using pictures so they can be understood by anyone. I was tempted by one of the other cases which clips around the phone 360 degrees but was put off by the difficulty in removing the device and the need to remove the screenknight protectors to get it to fit.

I like to swap cases for different occasions so this works well as 2 in 1. Well worth the price for a bit of peace of mind when out and about with an expensive and fragile phone.

I suffer from severe Type A Hemophilia And my hands are but crippled from years of bleeds to my hands. I can’t hold the glassy smooth Galaxy S8 surface. And I’ve dropped my phone 5 times already and the first two broke around the edges.

I learned about tech 21 and how they protect phones during drops. The majority of drops land on the edges and this case does it the best when it comes to protecting that. I’ve dropped my phone 3 times now and this thing is awesome and I have no damage to my phone whatsoever and that’s what I like the best.

it protects your phone really well, and is designed well and feels good in your hands and has a nice sturdy grip to it. Plus you have a ton of different styles and colors to fit your need. They also work well with full screen savers and regular screen savers so you get the best of both worlds.

If you have a chance to get one for a good price don’t hesitate these are worth the money. and you’ll be happy to know that your phone is protected by one of the best cases in the business.

The Tech21 Evo Go case fits my Samsung Galaxy s8 perfectly. It feels secure in my hand and seems to offer good protection. The cards are a little tricky to get out but it is manageable. My one issue with the case is the button covers.

Using the volume and power buttons requires me to use two hands, and a lot of pressure, which is impractical at times. Overall, I’m happy with the case and it looks great.

The only way to set the tablet up is a two step process and if you don’t have a cell phone you will have severe problems which Samsung cannot help you get around. It only took a few days of chat typing to get this information.

There should be a warning on all advertising for this product that a cell phone is required as not everyone has a cell phone. In fairness to Best Buy they did say that if the tablet was brought into the store they could complete the two step sign in but that would sort of negate the purpose for second step of registering a cell phone for Samsung to contact you on.

I suggested to Samsung that they should consider sending the second code to the customer by email or a land line telephone call with the second code. This tablet did not come with even a scrap of paper with information on how to turn it on or off or where to download a manual for it.

The on switch has to be held twice for a few seconds each time (still have problems with this) and the off switch is done by using two buttons (the second button has more than one use). If you have a copy of the manual, there is a way to make the on button work for turning it off too.

There was nothing to warn that the tablet should be charged before turning it on to set it up. Also missing was a warning that the USB-C cable for charging it can only be used in another USB-C port and not all computers have one.

The more common USB port found on most computers is not compatible as they are the larger USB 2 0r 3. Or the charging wire that comes with the tablet should have a USB-C connector on one end and a USB-3 connector on the other end.

This would be similar to digital cameras. This is just the most important things to consider before buying. I have also sent this information to Samsung as the tablet is otherwise an attractive and hopefully useful one once the operating system is better understood.

Okay, lets start at beginning, my S8 Ultra was bought as a crossover to enable access to both reports, research sites, (via MS WORD and PDF’s) and the tablet for use with clients (va websites). The first thing to note is the software is written for phones, not highspec tablets, so the MS Office is exceptionally poor and as a result cannot perfom one of my basic requirements.

It cannot act as a crossover. I cannot get the multiscreen to work, so am restriced to one screen at a time, slowing me down. As a new Samsung user I assume some of the difficulties are due to not knowing their system, though they have nothing to show me how to use it! Some of the manual is well written and makes sense, while much is written for experienced Samsung users, I assume! The speed of the tablet is adequate, but not fast; my 10 year old Sony Vaio Z series running Windows 2010 is much faster, even now.

This is supposed to be a high-end tablet, so where is the high-end perfomance? However, picture quality is on a par with the Sony Vaio, which is good, and when showing Netflix is again on a par. However, sound quality on the S8 is excellent for mobile tech.

Build quality also apprears to be adequate, though time will tell. The keyboard is good and appears to be well-built. Accessing support from MS to investigate oprtions for software problems said the basic issue was a result of Samsung, who could have enabled the tablet to work with the full MS Office, and who after many hours trying to help me find solutions had to give up.

Accessing suppport from Samsung produced ‘quality’ that ranged from awful, to excellent. They sent me the manual and found me a possible siolution to the MS issue, though this proved inadequate; but it was good they could offer an option.

Overall, the S8 is hype, and I will have to give it away to a family member so they can use it as a social media tool. I am very disappointed in my first move into the world of Samsung.

OK so first off, the tablet says it will spy on you with your apps and that they will be cooperating with law enforcement. This is probably why there’s some open boxes available. If you’re OK with that, it doesn’t matter.

It comes in a nice box, but the title is wrong. This thing is android 12. At least mine was. It doesn’t come with a charger, and because it’s a big battery, on a slow charger it can take as much as 10% an hour to charge, I’ve found.

Great for multimedia, the features that are standard like monitoring the brightness level of the room and changing the screen brightness accordingly is just fine. It loses charge about 3% a day, I think, just sitting there.

Setting up fingerprints was fairly easy. The updating the OS took a while I found, which is strange for a 4nm processor top of the line like this. Ultimately my opinion is I like android 11 better which is on my phone.

Some things like easily shutting down most recent apps used, is a pain while scrolling through the list when they could just put it at the top, like my android 11 phone does. Battery life is a little lackluster.

One previous reviewer online said the battery life he gets out of it is around 6 hours. The tablet is thin. I think they could’ve made it a little thicker and increased the battery life a little. Also only 4 stars because this does NOT come with a headphone jack.

Again, if it was a little thicker a jack would be easy to add to this device, like previous samsung products I’ve owned. Still, it’s like a mini tv. Full disclosure, I have not tried to run 4k media on the device.

Hope this review helps. Oh and turning off the tablet was not super intuitive for me. Pressing and holding what appears to be the power button ends up opening up some app I never heard of before and I don’t know what it does.

Not totally impressed but not overly disappointed either, but for almost 1000 after taxes, I did expect a little better for something that’s supposed to be top of the line.

Had it for over a year. Great pictures and movies and connects to tv great. I always buy case and screen protector. But them shatterproof screen protecters do ctack but lucky lcd dont. Quit recognizing memory card no matter how many restarts and different sd cards try.

But with 64gig onboard memory still have lots room even after 3-4,000 pictures. Nice thing with camera, it takes pictures of ghost/spirits even if you dont see them at the time. Have looked at pictures couple days later and see what looks like star trek scottie beaming someone up like in the movies.

Gives you the chills till you get used to it. Just wish had way make it reconize the memory card so try taking videos of where the ghost hang out to see if more than a few in that area. They dont bother me so we get along ok so far.

The front and the back around the camera lens are raised just enough to keep the screen and lens from touching the surface. It fits my phone perfectly, the button covers and holes are all aligned perfectly and the sides are ridged for safe gripping.

I love the color combination – an interesting and funny fact – it matches my bathroom counter top perfectly, that was unintentional. It’s easy to put on and get off my phone and it for sure protects my phone when it’s dropped, I’ve already done it a couple times.

I have to say, I really like this phone case.

I like this item, HOWEVER the “glass” screen saver I chose does not work with it. Seemingly, the high sides that protect the phone edge pops the cover right off. Honestly, I think it is the fault of the screen saver and NOT the case, so I am now on the hunt for another screen saver.

Over the years I’ve had MANY phones and cases and never cracked a screen. I bought an S21 Ultra and wanted a simple black case so I went with this one. My phone took a 2 foot tumble out of bed and now has a cracked screen.

This case is garbage with zero protection. It’s also starting to peel around the edges after two weeks of use. Don’t buy this unless you enjoy wasting money and replacing screens.

This screen protector is absolutely amazing; nevermind the fact they figured out how to make glass out of 20% aluminum and yet be crystal clear (!), it’s not just hype, it obviously makes a difference.

The coating on it is far better than others and still as good as day 1 after weeks of abusive use, which all wear off after a few months of heavy use, leading to easy fingerprinting, and has withstood impacts that would have easily shattered other protectors, maybe even gone through to the screen.

It also has scratch resistance that I almost don’t understand how it’s possible; as a “demo” to one of my coworkers (we work on iDevices and Macs, so are always comparing Apple products/accessories), I accidentally got a little too rough with an exacto blade and actually SNAPPED it on the screen; not so much as a micro-scratch! The protector finally did break, but just a hairline fracture so minor I didn’t notice it at first; I dropped the phone directly face-down on cement (for like the 100th time), and there was a little pebble there to REALLY concentrate the impact, a real worst-case-scenario.

And yet, the protector is still useable, with that crack only being noticeable in direct sunlight at just the right angle, or at night with the screen on when viewing at a very steep angle, so I’m gonna continue to use it! This new aluminoscilicate glass is the real-deal, absolutely not some gimmick! I think this is now the only protector I’ll ever buy.

The glitter bubbles look beautiful and the case is strong. My hands have problems gripping at times, this case is slick and has slipped out of my hands. The protection has been great to the phone. I would like a thicker rubber edging for grip.

Quality of the case is strong no cracks or breakage!.

I have had this phone for over a year and I can easily say it’s the best phone I’ve ever had. The #1 I appreciate so much about the S8 active is the battery life! I work 10 hour days, 6 days a week usually and I use my phone a lot at work (phone calls, camera, texting, browsers, and socials media apps on my breaks).

I almost always leave work with about 40 to 50 % battery remaining without charging it all day. I have used a Zagg Invisible Shield glass+ on my screen for the entire time I’ve had it and the screen itself is in perfect condition under that glass.

I would recommend if you buy this phone or any phone really, the glass you use with it needs to cover everything except the front speaker because my front camera got really scratched and now it takes relatively bad quality front camera pictures.

I would have to say that the camera quality is the worst part about this phone (and all Samsung phones that I’ve had) for both the front and back cameras. Apple has us beat on that front. I have also used a Pelican case the entire time I’ve had this phone.

I understand the point of the S8 active was that it doesn’t need a case but frankly I don’t like any scratches on my phone. The case is in rough shape now and I would recommend Pelican for this phone but I’ll save that for a different review.

The fingerprint scanner placement could not be more perfect in my opinion. Also the heart rate monitor was such a good idea and I hope Samsung continues to do that. I heavily recommend the Samsung Health app.

I use it all the time for my workouts and calorie counting. I will miss this phone when I have to upgrade!.

My S7’s battery had bit the dust so I decided it was time to upgrade. I had the S6 active before and I really liked that line. I looked at the S8 Active for a while before deciding to buy it which I am glad I did.

Compared to when my S7 was in its prime, the battery of the S8 far excelled it. I easily get through the day on a full charge plus some. While the screen resolution is still 1440 it is a better 1440 display and while I didn’t think it would be noticeable when I looked it up I was pleasantly surprised that it was definitely noticeable.

Also the screen is brighter. Con (Kind of) I miss the home button, but I get that is mostly a thing of the past.

Do you want a phone with the ruggedness of a Lifeproof or Otterbox Case? Do you want the battery life that can last more than 12 hours with heavy usage? Want a screen that’s beautiful but not made of the cheapest glass someone can glue onto a frame? Those and so much more? Then I think the Galaxy S8 Active is for you.

The battery life of the S8 Active is nothing short of great. It has a 4000 mAh battery that even with playing games and going on youtube for hours, I still have more than 50% battery within 12 hours.

If you just keep this in your pocket and use it to listen to music, respond to texts here and there along with a few calls, this battery should easily last you a day if not more. For durability, it’s true, the raw screen itself is prone to scratches, but it’s definitely shatter/crack proof.

I’ve dropped this thing on metal surfaces at a gym a few times and there are both no scratches and no cracks of any sort. The phone has a pretty rubber back with a metal frame with super-sturdy construction.

If tight pants and phones don’t make a good combo, it’ll probably be because the pants break first. The only thing this thing needs to be really safe from any long-term exposure to wear and tear is a dedicated anti-scratch screen protector.

Although in 1 year the phone may perform perfectly, the scratches on the screen may make it look like a 3 – 4 year old phone. The Cameras are great. The Back camera can go up to 12 mega pixels with a 4:3 aspect ratio, and 9.

1 mega pixels with a 9:1 aspect ratio. The front facing camera can go up to 8 mega pixels with an aspect ratio of 4:3. The displace can scale from 1480×720, 2220×1080 and 2960×1440. I use 2220×1080, and the great detail for any application, videos, game, regular use, is way more for me than needed to satisfy my detail crave.

Connectivity is standard but still good on this phone. You have a SIM/micro SD card slot in a form like the apple phones, a USB C port and something Apple phones lack, a 3. 5 mm audio slot. Connecting to a PC is much easier compared to my old phone.

The old phone I had would connect and disconnect from PC’s when trying to transfer files which got annoying to no end. But the OS on the S8 Active (probably same as the regular S8) allows you to easily switch connectivity modes to fix anything if you can’t transfer files correctly the first time.

Processing power on this thing is great. It’s got a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 with 8 CPU cores. For most modern applications at the writing of this review, there isn’t much I can throw at it that it can’t go through easily.

You can play games and multi-task at the expense of some battery life, but you can definitely do it. I’ve had no real problems with this phone, just amazement and satisfaction. If you just want a phone without needing to deal with a case and can take the blow of sacrificing the regular S8’s curved corner screen, then this phone is a serious must get.

I can (and have) literally throw my phone, corner-first, onto a hard surface, and the phone will take no damage. The case itself will eventually take damage with repeated impacts over the course of time, and eventually need to be replaced.

But after two years of rough treatment, if I have to purchase a new protector case and the phone is still in near-perfect condition, that only means the case is doing its job perfectly. In fact, the only reason I’m having to buy a new protector case is because my current case has absorbed/blocked so much damage over two years that the hard-plastic corners have broken off, and as a result the case is having a hard time staying on the phone.

This product rightly deserves to be at the top of it’s class, along with the legendary Otter case – except that Otter cases are very bulky, and this Speck case is slim and keeps a low profile, while offering the same protection.

Which in my opinion makes it superior even to Otter.

Initially I was very happy with this case as it seemed to offer good protection and look nice without being too thick and bulky. However, it does not hold up well over time. Within a few months the thin, flimsy, rubber pieces ripped and tore off just under normal use.

This left some crucial areas of the phone exposed. The opening for the aux input is also small and I have found to use it the majority of the time the phone has to be taken out of the case which is a hassle.

The material on the back of it scratches extremely easily. After less than a year of normal use, a lot of the material had either scratched or faded off. As far as protection, every time I have dropped the phone from low heights, the speck brand screen protector has cracked.

I am not sure if this is a fault of the protector or case itself. Overall it was a decent case, but don’t expect it to last longer than a year.

Speck is a company that I have always trusted over the years for many different devices. I have tried other products and none have been able to stand the test of time in strength and durability. My wife still has an S7, when I’m on an S10+ and has a Speck Presidio case.

The same case has been on her phone for other three years. The grip is getting worn down and the little rubber part that goes over the charging port is ripped but it’s better than any other we could have purchased.

Onto this product! The grips go in sort of a V pattern and lines to make it easy to hold and it doesn’t slip from many surfaces. The case is a strong plastic with rubber parts that are in the corners and rubber lined throughout the entire case inside.

I have tried UAG and other cases but this seems to have more protection throughout. An old Speck case was run over by a car when it fell out of my pocket when riding a bike. The phone fell face down so the screen broke, but still operable, and the case was in perfect condition.

The packaging of the case will ensure that there will be no damage to the product in shipping and the case is snug mounted inside to be plucked off. These products do come with a lifetime warranty and Speck stands behind their products in case there is a malfunction or flaw in the design.

I would buy this product over and over again because it’s more reliable and in a compact design. I don’t like Otterboxes because of the thickness and other products don’t seem to be able to handle falls, which I tend to do quite often.

I would recommend this case, and any Speck case, to others that are look for something that will last. The cases are a little more expensive than the cheap, poor quality brands that are on the internet but save yourself some frustration and a broken phone to get one of these.

Brought this for my son’s Kawasaki along with the yoke mounting kit. He loves it , he said it is really easy to see and unobtrusive on the bike. I had returned a previous phone case as I had ordered the wrong one, got my refund no problems.

Good quality case which works well with charge leads. I use a mounted case instead of a bike satnav and it’s great. With so many fitment options, it’s easy to adapt when you replace either your phone or your bike.
