I bought this to replace an equivalent Linksys WiFi router that I purchased about 12 years ago (where has the time gone?!?!). It turned out that the old unit wasn’t compatible with the new remote log in set up we have at work, so I order this unit and had my wife go pick it up.

In a word – WOW! This was a brand recommended by our IT people, so I found this on sale (thanks Best Buy). Once I got it, I assembled it (you need to put the antennae on), followed the setup instructions in the box and I was in business.

A word of caution here: Netgear supplies you with a temporary router password so you can log into the router to make adjustments and get connection info. You MUST replace this with your own new password.

I discovered this during my review of available WiFi routers. It’s a minor annoyance but that’s part of living in the “digital age” people and it ensures your home network security. Once set up, the connection is astonishingly fast.

Much faster than the previous one. I downloaded a Netgear Nighthawk app on my smartphone and went from room to room checking signal strength. Nothing less than 500 Mbps anywhere. What you get yourself will depend heavily on how fast your service is and the size of your home; you may need local repeaters to ensure top speeds.

Reconnected all of our devices and smart TV (now THERE’S an oxymoron), and we were back in business again. This far exceeded my expectations and I am well pleased. I highly recommend this unit for someone looking for a quality WiFi router.

This was a very economical solution for an international trip. I used it mainly for navigation when we were out and tried to stay off the rest of the time. I used A LOT of data very quickly though which surprised me.

I quickly hit the 8gb. My iPhone did not like using the wifi and even after changing the security settings it kept alerting me of weak security and changing the auto login setting. Also, the website to access these settings doesn’t always work via the hyperlinks.

It would be useful if this was just a part of the keepgo account page. Overall, I’m satisfied with the purchase.

My main goal buying the Keepgo was as a backup home Internet option for the too-frequent outages we experience. I need a way to at least access email and can’t wait a day until our ISP gets their act together.

The Keepgo Lifetime hotspot is perfect, because I can stock up on data and as long as I buy some more annually, the data allocation sticks around for when I need it. I verified that it connects via T-Mobile locally, with decent 4G LTE bandwidth.

I have not yet taken it traveling, but expect to use it during long family trips.

I absolutely love this new device. I did have some difficulty connecting at first but once I understood what each icon was for, it is now just real simple. It takes time for the device to find a signal as it has to search so many different options.

No issues with speed or connectivity once connected. I recommend this device to anyone looking for a personal wifi hotspot worldwide. Way to go Keepgo. Love Love Love my Keepgo.

I didn’t know what to expect. My replacement sim was already activated. so I put it in and I had access Right then (loved that). Almost plug and play; I was happy to finally have a pretty good connection to the internet.

It was just under 10mps upload and download in busy periods. And it was at a crazy 100mps up and down! in the middle of the night. All with no extra antenna.

This tp-link A20 blows my 3 year old Linksys AC2600 out of the water. Granted the Linksys is in one class lower with only 4 antennas and 2 networks, but it was never a great router. This tp A20 has 6 antennas and 3 networks (one 2.

4ghz & two 5ghz). It also solved a problem with dead zones in my home which affected cell phone internet calling quality. The 2. 4 ghz network reaches much further that the Linksys and as mentioned in another review, goodbye problematic extenders.

This A20 router was simple to set up and performs better in every way than any mid-class router. You would need to move up into a gaming router to exceed the A20, but those units have more complicated settings that are unnecessary for business users.

The certified refurbished purchase @ $100 delivered makes it a great deal. I paid only $5 less for a lower class Linksys in less inflated dollars.

Got the A20 router. Heard it was one of the best. Sorry. Worked for 2 weeks and died. Connected to 2 different modems. Still dead. Confirmed with tech. BRAND NEW out of the box. Setup a return. Got the RMA to send it back.

What did I get in return? A REFURBISHED UNIT. Spent $160. And they send me back a refurbished unit. Not another NEW one. Not the way to make a new customer coming back for your other products. Not even going to try it out.

Going to sell it on line at a loss.

This is a good router and reasonable price. I get consistent speeds with my computers, whether gaming or streaming. Setup was simple enough, but I like to check under the hood. Was able to clone mac address and make sure ISP has no back-doors.

As soon as I plugged in this router (which connects beautifully and seamlessly to my Nighthawk cable modem and I highly recommend you pair up both for maximum results), I saw instant speed upgrades of at least 500 Mbps.

Depending on the time of day, it can go up to 550-600 Mbps. Although Comcast promises speeds of up to 1200 Mbps, unfortunately this is a combination of marketing and overpromising, as this is not available yet in my area.

I was hitting speeds of 850 Mbps though, which needless to say, is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade to what I was seeing before with my old cable modem and old wireless router. While this router is a bit pricey and on the more expensive side of current routers on the market, I feel it is worth the investment (in the short term and long term), and especially as Wifi 6 becomes the new Wifi standard, it feels like this router is already futureproof.

I also love that I can easily utilize 3 wifi streams (up to 8 available!) that I can allocate to my different devices, i. e. laptops, mobiles, tv (2. 4 GHz and 3 5GHz currently). All in all, an excellent router, and I highly recommend! You are guaranteed to see a major speed boost, and I was very pleased with the results.

IšverstiShow in original languageLike most folks, we have been stuck with the equipment supplied by our cable company. It is typically just above minimal function level and with two cell phones and laptops and two Chromebooks for school at home, we just keep getting disconnected.

Rather frustrating to say the least. I’d heard it may be necessary to upgrade the modem itself to get the best out of our paid internet services, but in fact this router has done just that for us. The tri-band option has been a huge plus with multiple devices, especially with my laptop connecting to my work’s internal server and downloading and uploading all day long, but also with the two kids both streaming over zoom or google classroom, YouTube videos, all while I’m on a conference call using our Roku as a second display screen.

It’s fantastic! I’m so thrilled! Plus the security settings let you set bedtimes and select specific devices to pause internet access. It’s fantastic. With WiFi 6 and two 5G bands, I can use one for just my laptop and let the two kids use the other.

Such a breeze. The convenient app you can use on the iPhone is simple and really easy to access. I’m very pleased.

IšverstiShow in original languageAs someone that works in IT daily, I expected something in this price range to be a lot more feature packed, and not require a 3rd party subscription to utilize the network security function of the router.

The wifi coverage is fantastic and the speeds are exceptional, however, false DDOS attacks are the plague of this things existence and Netgear should definitely be looking into doing a firmware update on their routers.

My girlfriend does online sales/marketing, which means a lot of social media use. Unfortunately, this router sees a considerable amount of network transactions with facebook(and other large datacenters) as a DOS attack and it brings the router to its knees momentarily, often at the least convenient times.

I cant recommend this router in good will due to those issues. If a firmware update is released that resolves said issue, and security features would become free, I’d recommend this router, as well as comparable Netgear routers over and over.

Until then, there are considerably cheaper options and comparably priced mesh systems that will likely perform better for your average wifi user.

I am very happy with this router. I previously had an Archer AX3000 which is a dual band router. I thought I was having some connection issues, so I upgraded to the AX11000 for the tri-band. I watched a lot of gaming router comparison videos, and this router was always rated as good with similar routers winning out in most cases in terms of speed or connectivity.

I can say that I still went with this router and as a casual user that plays online games every now and then (not a die-hard gamer by any means), this router performs spectacularly. When I first set it up, I attempted to use the “smart connect” feature, which is supposed to shift connections to the best of the 3 bands for your usage.

I had to disable that feature after a few days because it doesn’t work quite right in certain parts of my house due to the layout of my home. All phones at the far ends of the house (router is in the middle) would become unresponsive like the router couldn’t figure out which band to use.

Without that enabled and connecting directly to one of the bands, it is a solid and flawless connection throughout my house. My previous router had the “smart connect” feature as well and it did not work well at all.

This one did better, but not quite well enough to keep my family from complaining about Tik Tok videos not loading. The 8 ethernet ports is an awesome bonus that replaced a 5-port switch in my chain.

I’m looking forward to implementing the link aggregation on my home server when I get time to run an extra cable. The interface on the AX11000 looks better to me than the AX3000 which uses the default blue/white TP-Link GUI.

though it really is just a theme change as pretty much all the same settings show up in both. I currently only have a couple devices that support Wifi6. I mainly wanted Wifi6 for future proofing and it wasn’t necessary considering the devices being connected.

This is not a full review of features or performance but rather something people must to be aware of as it caught me by suprise and to me is a major security flaw. If you intend to make use of the vpn feature for clients particularly those that might be untrusted, and you intend to limit device access to the router admin page using the local management feature to prevent unwanted users accessing the page then you need to know this limitation.

Those who connect and login using vpn are not considered local devices on your network and bypass your router admin local management restrictions and can directly access the administration page. They still need to login by virtue of access they can still attempt.

In addition to this you cannot blacklist vpn clients. I spoke to a TP-Link support representative and they advise that those who vpn in are not considered part of your local LAN. This is despite them having the same connectivity to other devices/resources on your LAN that are connected by wifi/cable.

Therefore they cannot restricted using the local management or blacklisting. I disagree and believe that any node whether is connected by wifi, cable or vpn must be treated the same way where you can isolate and secure resource access to those connected nodes.

To allow a back door to a client that can bypass your security configuration just by connecting via vpn is massive security risk. I would recommend not enabling vpn unless you trust all clients accessing your network otherwise this router is definitely not for you.

I needed to replace a well loved, but on its way out, Linksys WRT 1900AC router that Id had since 2014. It couldnt handle the limits of my 2600+ Sq Ft. 2 story house, and its 30+ client smart home anymore.

I looked into several different, and almost bought, a mesh wifi system, but decided to give this a try instead as its cleaner, there wouldn’t be any issues with slow down on a repeated signal from the satellites, I set this up on the ground floor of my house in a central location, and thus far Ive been soo happy with it.

I get a signal in every room of my house, my garage, and throughout most of my. 5 acre surrounding yard. The router is Tri-band (2x5ghz, 1×2. 4ghz) and was easy to set up. I have all bands named the same, and set it to smart switch the band it logs a particular client to based on its distance from the router and what will give it the strongest signal.

(ex. My phone will automatically switch from 5ghz to 2. 4ghz as I move further away from the router, to maintain a strong signal, automatically). I have fiber optic internet, and my throughput over wifi is close to 100% of what I pay for, more than double the speed I was getting with my previous router.

Finally, I have had (granted the router is still brand new), zero simultaenous connection problems with the 30+ smart home/computers/phones/tablets/etc clients all connecting to the router at once. The smartphone router management app works well to boot.

This is hands down the most fully-featured mobile LTE/5G router I’ve ever used, but in my opinion where it shines the most is not in mobile uses, but rather as a backup (or potentially even primary) network connection for home internet.

Thanks to its offboarding and “Always On Wifi” functionality its possible to set this up as a backup and only use your LTE or 5g connection when your primary connection fails. The inclusion of an Ethernet port on this router is a game changer allowing it to be used for home networking in rural areas where wired home internet might not be an option.

The stability has been great, and the interface is powerful and intuitive. I would happily recommend this router to anyone on the market for a 5G router.

I switched from the 3G Ovation MC760 USB dongle to the 4G LTE Netgear Mingle. I reside on the fringe of 4G (and 3G) area service. My 3G MC760 regularly dropped down to 2G or completely disconnected from the network.

With the Mingle I’ve had a consistent “single bar” on the Mingle’s LCD display and a reliable 4G connection. Not once has the 4G connection dropped down to 3G or disconnected from the network. Even though the Mingle has two ports to connect external antennas, I’ve had no need to use them.

The Mingle works on battery power and when charging. On average, I’ve had to charge the Mingle once per day depending on Wi-Fi use. USB tethering with my laptop also works well. So far I’ve used my Mingle with a Windows laptop, Android Tablet, and an Android phone.

I’m very pleased with the Mingle.

I bought this to use with my new laptop as I wanted to be able to have internet at our cabin where we go on the weekends and there is no internet available. I had a terrible time trying to get it activated (at home which in an rural area) and customer service thought the device was defective and thought that I should return it.

I decided to play around and had my husband drive me to the top of a hill near a cell tower. Wow, all of a sudden I got it to activate. Seems like we are in a 3G area with very poor Sprint/Virgin Mobile reception although on the coverage map it showed the coverage to be very good.

Anyway, off we went to our cabin and I have wonderful 4G reception and all is well. So, the only thing I wished I would have known is to be in a strong reception area to activate this device. When you have a strong signal all is well and the device works Great!!!! I would have given Five Stars if I wouldn’t have had to go through sooo much to get it activated.

I bought this to replace a Linksys EA6900, an 802. 11ac dual band router with limited range on the 5G band. We needed more range on the 5G. TP-Links AX11000 certainly had better range and I thought we had a winner.

Setup was quick, logical, and allowed for great detail. My network has 2 desktops connected by ethernet; one desktop and three laptops connected by wifi; and two printers (Epson WF-4830 and HP OfficeJet 8600).

Installation of the TP-Links AX11000 went perfectly until we tried to use the printers. When a wifi client moved from 5G band to a 2. 4G band, it lost connection to the printer. I called TP-Links tech support three times.

Twice they sent me on wild goose chases. The third time they told me to call the printer tech support. I went back to MicroCenter and purchased an Ubiquity AmpliFi Alien router. Installation went perfectly.

Neither the Ubiquity nor the Linksis router had the printer problem. I returned the TP-Links to MicroCenter and they were very good about the return. I like working with MicroCenter. TP-Links. not so much.

I cannot recommend this product because the TP-Links support failed to help me solve the problem and in one case refused even to try.

With two parents working from home and remoting into the office, three kids on MS Teams with home school, and the multitude of other phones/tablets/security cameras/game consoles/etc. all vying for bandwidth – it became apparent it was time for a router upgrade.

Our home is 4200 sq. ft. bungalow, generally open-concept but there has always been issues with the signal transmitting and providing adequate coverage to to the lower level. I researched several routers, extenders, and mesh systems and even after consulting Best Buy staff was advised that typically home networking often involves considerable trial and error.

Ultimately I purchased a flagship Netgear router, wall plug-in extender unit, a three module mesh system, and this TP-Link to test for a solution. I settled on opening and setting up the Archer AX11000 as a first attempt- and it performed so flawlessly there was no need to pursue investigating any additional options! We have fiber optic service, and after closing every door and spot checking with a Speedtest application on multiple devices, I was able to receive more than the providers advertised full bandwidth in every corner of the home including the very farthest reaches of the basement and garage.

The Archer is a beast – it performs stunningly well, and has not faltered in the several weeks we’ve now had it up and running. I have some basic computing knowledge, and found the setup quick and straightforward.

The desktop application is the best I have ever seen for clear and simple configuration. The best feature might be the TP-Link mobile app, which allows full access to the router features; it is very comprehensive and now actually shows the name of every connected device on the network, which I can customize for clarity and monitor what is using the most bandwidth at any given time.

The child protection settings are fantastic, and allows parents to not only disable internet content based on age group, but also control and monitor usage at a specific device and user level. TP-Link developers have gone the extra mile on this software and feature set, and it is a definite selling point for parents.

The unit is on the pricier side of available routers, but in my experience worth every penny – having access to the apps, feature set, Wi-Fi 6 for longevity, and full bandwidth throughout the home makes the Archer a solid investment for our family with what has become an internet-connected required life right now.

I bought the ASUS AX3000 to replace the single-band, WiFi 4 router that is built into my AT&T modem. There are simply too many 2. 4GHz networks bleeding over into our house from the neighbors, and the AT&T router is too weak to get the full circuit bandwidth anywhere beyond about 10 feet from it.

The AX3000 is incredibly easy to set up. Before starting, I Googled how to shut off the built-in wifi radio and put the AT&T modem/router into pass-through mode. The ASUS router app is really nice, but I preferred using the on-board interface to set things up by wiring in our desktop PC.

I set up both 2. 4GHz and 5GHz networks using different SSID’s so that I could tell them apart. (I am not a fan of the “Smart Connect” feature that uses a single SSID and can move devices between 2. 4GHz and 5GHz to try to optimize range and speed.

) Two devices in the house only support 2. 4GHz, but the rest are all on the 5GHz network, including iPhones running WiFi 6 and a variety of devices including Apple TVs and Roku sticks using WiFi 5. Using a speedtest app on my iPhone 12, I then methodically checked every room in the house before connecting all the other devices.

We have a 3000 sq foot, two-story home with another 1000 sq ft in the unfinished basement. The AX3000 sits in the loft near the center of the second floor (great central location). The results? I got the full bandwidth of our internet circuit in every room of the house and in the basement, despite the signal strength sometimes being as low as 35%! This router has great features, a good user interface and a nice companion app.

But it’s the combination of WiFi 6 and other advanced tech that makes its performance shine. I have even noticed my Chromebook getting better battery life now that it can operate on 802. 11ac (WiFi 5) along with a stronger signal.

The AX3000 is not the cheapest home router, but if you need range, throughput, and the ability to support a fleet of modern devices, it is a great investment.

So, decided to cut the cable BUT use some of the money to subscribe to a VPN. The VPN company stated the ISP router would not be adaptable unless I did a bunch of tech stuff like flash it. I can build PCs, I can do very basic things and when shown or told I can pretty much make anything work.

Chose Asus because I like their product, just built a PC with an Asus mobo (Z490 ROG Strix E) and an Asus monitor (PA278) This router is supposed to work well with the VPN company I chose. First upon the simple (and it is simple) set-up, I received no signal from the modem to the router.

Called Asus and they helped me get a signal. I was willing to put that down as perhaps I made a mistake. Tried to install the VPN and when VPN was activated a loss of internet on the PC but not the 2 Rokus.

Contacted the VPN company who worked on it from their end and couldn’t find an issue. Contacted Asus again and again, they helped but when the VPN was on the PC was offline EVEN hardwired into the router.

Had a professional come in to set up the network. He did but VPN drops download from 200+MBPS – >50. He told me to contact the VPN company again. they had me run some configs and nothing. I would call again, but and I know it is something that companies do to keep prices down, but when I can’t understand a single word the phone help is saying (because I can’t be online if working on the internet with possible outages, due to the working on it.

) So, I won’t call them, asking them to repeat and talk slower makes me feel embarrassed. I rarely complain about the telephone outsources because it is what it is, but Asus’ by far the worst. So, while it FINALLY, gets me signals to everything I need the fact that a hardwired PC’s download speed drops 75% is frustrating and I would return it but with the market the way it is with stock on shelves down (bought the last one) and the need for one that handles wifi6 AND VPN there may not be anything else available.

It breaks my heart to have to write this review because as I stated I truly like Asus products.

My previous router was a Netgear RangeMax which gave good service for 12 years until the 2. 4 GHZ radio gave up the ghost. After reading nightmare reviews for routers from many top manufacturers, I purchased this Asus model based on its great reviews.

My first impressions are that this is an outstanding router. To begin, setup literally could not have been easier. Connected it to my cable modem, powered it on, and completed the setup in five minutes via the mobile app.

It was not necessary to update network adapter drivers on any of my PCs. Range is great – I get excellent connectivity from anywhere in my 1550 sq ft home. This includes two smart TVs, two wireless printers, two PCs, smartphones, wireless security with multiple cameras, and wifi connected lighting in multiple rooms.

The app is the crown jewel. The interface is intuitive and fun to use. Using it, I can see real-time traffic, know every device connected to the network – and identify and label them. The best way to do this when their identity is not clear is grab the MAC address from the device label or from the app associated with the device (like wifi lighting) and match it to the MAC address given for the mystery device by the Asus app.

The app reports connection quality for every online device so no need to use a wifi mapper. I am very satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend this router for anyone with a network environment similar to my own.

A little over 3 years ago I had an ASUS AC1900 that died just before the warranty expired and sent it in for warranty. So I purchased the AC5300 to replace the AC1900 while it was being repaired. I was very happy with the new AC5300 and about 6 months ago I started getting a lot of freezing up when Face Timing with my family.

I told my son to get a new wifi because his was quit old and was causing the freezing because the AC5300 newer then his after he replaced his nothing changed. Soon after that we noticed delays when printing on our wifi printer which got so bad I figured the printer was dying so I just purchased a Brother printer.

After following the setup instruction the software could not find the printer so I typed 192. 168. 1. 1 and the printer was listed in the router IP 192. 168. 1. 124 I spent most of the day trying to get it to connect to no avail.

After that I remembered I still had the ASUS AC1900 so I hooked it up and within 5 minutes the printer was up and running. Next I contacted ASUS Support and told them the Router was Just over the warranty time but they were happy to try to help and gave me a case number so for the next 2 days and 4 techs they could not get the AC5300 to connect to my new printer.

The last person that tried to fix the issue requested that I give him remote access to my PC which I did. I went from level one to level 2 tech and then to level three tech and they could not get the printer to work even though the wifi channels work they told me this was just weird problem that they never ran into before and were going to e-mail me a RMA to return the AC5300 for repair and I said thank you very much.

Well what I got was a link to ASUS out of warranty service to further check the problem further which cost all most as much as a new router and that’s for a router we already know is defective. I’m done with ASUS 2 WIFI routers that die at the end of the warranty plus a new printer which I did not need.

I hooked up my old printer to the AC1900 and it works fine.

Nightmare Setup. When setup configured with DNS filtering for parental filter and firewall however when attempting to stream 2 videos same time videos would cut out and go to poor quality. Once disabled these features video streaming went to normal Have 3 google home mini and 3 chromecast devices.

random issues with them not appearing, unable to cast. had to go through lengthly blogs and trouble shooting to even get the devices to kinda work. multiple blogs regarding this modem model having random, intermittent issues with google chrome devices dissapearing.

‘ if using google devices you cant use the smart connect feature or auto select channels as the router switches between networks leaving these devices on different bands that you cant communicate with, you must have UNPNP enabled, AP isolation disabled, IGMP disabled, channel bandwidth manual and still unsure if will work as last time appeared to be working after router loss power and came back, performed manual reboot stopped working again.

so unsure if current settings even work.

unfortunately, they either don’t work well, or are hard to get to a working state. I have yet to get Local Networking to work beyond wi-fi speeds; this after spending almost 30 years as the SysAdmin of a commercial graphics company, where I was in charge of 30-50 computers and users, Mac and PC, and grew the network from Appletalk through numerous versions of hi-speed Ethernet.

Even now, on wi-fi alone, it goes offline at random intervals of a couple days, but does resume after a power-down and restart. I admit that to this point, I have yet to contact ASUS tech support; that WILL happen after the first of the year!.

This portable hotspot works very well, has good range and good battery life. The default wireless security is “weak” (as noted when connecting with my iPad) but it’s possible to change it, using the web browser interface, to WPA3 AES which seems to be better.

Excellent MIFI, the product looks nice, a bit bulky but you can use it as powerbank so that’s the why. It has data plans for almost every country and you can even use it with sim card (2).
