20 Best Wifi Freezer Alarm (2022 Updated)

I wear contacts, but still have headaches due to eye strain being on the computer 8 to 9 hours a day for 5 days, the weekend phone and tablet 2 to 3 hours. Brought Inner Vision to see if it will help.

1st time I don’t have the eye strain headaches, don’t know about any else; it works for me.

The Ring Alarm Pro base station is an interesting product. It is set it up as a WiFi router only for now. The product comes as a bulky unit that is a thick and square plastic box. There are two Ethernet ports on the back along with a SD slot and USB-C connection for power.

There is a LED ring on the top and small LED at the bottom edge. These LEDs provide status information. Setup is not complicated but you need two different apps. First, the Ring app and then the eero app.

Per instructions provided, the Alarm Pro should be a replacement for your router and should not be used as an extender. This approach does not work for me as my ISP cable comes in at one end of the house and an existing cable modem and a separate router is already in place.

The Ring Alarm Pro is placed towards the other end of the house given its stated 1500 sq feet coverage. Double NATting the Ring Alarm Pro lets it work with the existing router and get past the ‘do not use as an extender’ advice.

All of my smart devices are connected to the Alarm Pro including smart doorbell, smart robot vacuum, smart camera, smart thermostat, smart TV, etc. The other router manages internet connectivity for other devices such as cell phones, tablets, PCs, laptops, etc.

All devices works well on both networks. While the process to setup the Alarm Pro is simple, it took me a few tries as it was unable to connect to AT&T’s cell network from the location where it was placed.

Once the built-in backup battery was charged, the the base station was moved to another part of the house by the window to get the setup process going. Once this process got going, the Alarm Pro was relocated back to where I wanted it.

Couple of other speed bumps – there is nothing in the documentation that indicates which Ethernet port should be used. A quick call to support and learnt that either one is fine. The blue ring is bright as sunshine.

The app lets you dim it or turn it off fully which I have done. There is another LED at the bottom. I wonder how many will remember what these indicators mean. just confusing, IMO. The positive bits: The devices works fine.

It provides for modular upgrades – can add sensors, integrate Echo devices, etc. The built in battery is great (helped me get over the setup issue) for times when power is lost. The optional LTE connectivity (via AT&T) is great when your ISP is down but it comes with additional charges.

Something interesting that I need to troubleshoot a bit more. Netflix via Chromecast seems to burp for the first 2 – 5 seconds before everything works. Sound seems to disappear around the 3rd second mark after streaming has started and returns back after a second.

May not be related to this device but seems to be an awful coincidence since this started after the Ring Alarm Pro was put in place. Overall, a good product with built resilience which is great.

When I first got this, based on the description I thought I was getting an 8 pc security kit. This is actually just the base unit, so you will need to have other Ring devices to connect into. At the moment I only have 1 other Ring device so I feel right now, the base unit may be more than what I need, but I am glad I got it since I do plan to expand my home security.

Setup was OK. It was easy to connect but I wasn’t quite sure how to handle the connection to my mesh network. This kind of runs on its own network and could probably replace my mesh but at this point I won’t do that and have it run separately.

I did have to download 2 apps for it, the Ring and Eero apps, it would be nice if it was just all in one. Since I did have a camera already, I had to go online to figure out how to switch networks for it.

Once I found it, it was pretty simple to switch. Having this in the directions would have been a time saver. I do like that you can manage the security system manually and it doesn’t require a service.

Also, it seems like you can have it save recordings if you use a micro SD card which isn’t included. At the time of getting the unit I wasn’t aware this was needed or I would have tried that out and gave my thoughts on it.

This unit has a lot of potential and seems to be pretty flexible. If you are not techy, I can see you having some issues along the way during setup, so call your family IT person for the initial help.

So far I’d recommend it, I’m going to grab a few new devices to connect and an SD card and build out my home security a bit more. Seems like a solid product.

CDN TA-20 wired Refrigerator Alarm is a good alternative to wireless monitors but has 2 minor issues both involving the temperature sensor. First, the wire is too short (. less than 3 feet long) limiting where you can place the main unit.

Secondly, most applications require the wire to pass between the gasket and the frame compromising the air-tight seal you want. The wire needs to be longer and you need to be creative in running the wire.

In my case, I was not using my ice maker so I ran the wire through the water port and out the back of the freezer. The refrigerator is another challenge. Alarm is loud enough to be heard from 2 rooms away.

Unit seems to be pretty accurate. All & all, a must have for all refrigerator and freezers. Hope this helps. Alex B. Griffin, GA.

This item is a decent buy, but has its flaws. The wire which must pass through the door gasket can allow air to infiltrate and allows for a bit of melting, frost and ice to occur on your freezer. I own four of these and the two being used on older models with older (and stiffer gaskets) have this problem.

They did not have the problems before the wire was there. You will need to devise a better way to seal around this. I have not attacked this problem yet but I am resisting changing the door gaskets and will try to apply some sort of sealer or caulk to the wire.

Another way to avoid this problem would be to use the thermometer intermittently instead of constantly although this might only serve to defeat you purpose. Also the alarm is not loud, so I would not count on hearing it.

This item would also be good to monitor unheated spaces without requiring you to open a door to get a temperature reading inside of the space.

I really wanted a model that would guard both my freezer AND refridgerator (this does one OR the other by default), but couldn’t find one. However, by taking out the internal (room) sensor (it’s extremely small but easily found inside), and soldering it to a lead, Maybe the manufacturer could make a similar modification to a future version.

With this simple modification I finally I got what I wanted: a thermometer that shows the temperature of both compartments AND warns if the freezer temperature rises too high. (I know I voided the warranty but hey, this isn’t rocket science).

Since this is battery operated it will warn even if the mains fail. Also, the color matched the front plastics of my refridgerator, so when I fitted it in there it looked like it had always been there.

The warning sound is exactly right, not too loud and not too quiet.

So my apartment is 700 sq ft. I’m on 1st floor. 1 window in bedroom. 1 back patio sliding door. Front door. My building is fairly secure. Have to be buzzed in and have keys for side entrances. But I wanted simple protection/warning, being a female and not taking security for granted.

I sleep much better with the sensors on, along with my trusted piece. They’re just peel and stick on, though it came with mounting screws. I used some heavy duty velcro strip for the keypad/front door.

If they come unstuck, which it doesn’t appear they will, I’ll velcro them as well. Make sure they’re aligned properly. They’re loud enough even if you just need the warning that an entry has been breached.

They’ll definitely scare off an intruder. The door keypad/sensor is good and super loud. I have 1 leftover sensor and may just stick on window for even more sound. So here’s a couple things negative.

the light on the sensors doesn’t stay illuminated when they’re set. In order to turn off a tripped sensor, u have to slide the battery cover off. The switches are pretty small. The batteries could be regular ones, but maybe these (I call them watch batteries) last longer idk.

You also need to have 3 AAA batteries for the keypad becuz they’re not included. (not a negative just a need to know). They could’ve come with the warning stickers for display, but I’m going to order them for a few more dollars.

But that’s it. Great price for sense of security and deterrent. Product isn’t flimsy. Glad I purchased.

Here’s the deal, if you are looking for something very inexpensive to alert you if “someone” comes through your doors or windows, this is the system for you. It does not connect to the police, wifi or cameras.

But, it does have an eardrum busting alarm that runs on 3 cell batteries (included). We live in the country and our nearest neighbors are quite far away through the trees, yet they could hear the alarm when my son forgot it was on.

I absolutely love this system. It’s loud enough for even my neighbors to hear if we have an intruder and it was easy to set up. The instructions were a bit confusing but that was our only issue.

I bought this system because I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a big brand nor did I want another big monthly bill. It has many pros and cons. The unit itself is deserving of a 4 star review. The app though is along the lines of a 2 star review.

I am reviewing the product as a whole system (alarm and app) with a 3 star rating because that’s how it was advertised and why I bought it. Here is my list of pros and cons. I’ve never had one not set off the alarm. -Push notifications are very fast -Ability to arm and disarm from phone through app. Cons: -The app is not that great. -App push notifications are VERY quiet and the volume can’t be raised or the ring tone changed.

So it’s easy to miss a push notification. -The home feature on the app does NOT work. The system is either on or off. Certain sensors can be set to permanent protection but if that’s done it still triggers an alarm with the system off.

I contacted the app people about it and they said they “sent it to their techs” -To get texts or calls you must pay a monthly subscription – And the BIGGEST CON that really ticks me off but I can’t prove it is the app gave out my email to SPAM and CON email companies.

As soon as I signed up for the service I started getting tons of junk email and emails posing as other companies like PayPal trying to steal my personal information. I’m pretty sure that maybe another app would work.

I used the Smart Life app which is what the alarm recommended. I tried Tuya but it’s identical to Smart Life and I’m pretty sure it is the same people. The home feature on Tuya didn’t work either and the app was bigger so I went back to Smart Life I do recommend if you sign up on the app to make a different email from your primary and to use it, and to leave the phone number blank.

I mainly bought this as a loud noise deterrent. I’m pretty sure that if a burglar ever entered my home they wouldn’t know what type of system it is making the noise or if it’s monitored and has alerted the police.

Plus I wanted something to wake me if someone tried to enter my home when I sleeping or alert me if I am taking a shower. It works great in those two aspects. But in the app support area and the ability to switch to at home mode being non functioning I’m really disappointed.

But hey it’s 50 bucks, no monthly bills, and is better than nothing. Maybe one day I’ll go with a name brand but for the time being this works. If you are wanting an entry level security system to mostly make noise and wake you or let you know someone is entering the other end of the house this thing is nice.

If you want a fancy system that alerts you on your phone when you’re away from home and you’ll never miss an alert don’t count on this one.

My only issue with this system is that the Alarm is not really loud. Its loud but it’s not as loud as my smoke detector which has a really loud piercing sound. This system will wake a person up if someone comes in but a means of adding an additional speaker would really help.

I’m more interested in scaring an intruder off without pointing my gun at them. Overall a good system. The technology is solid and I tested all the sensors to make sure they work. So far except for the Alarm sound volume this was a good purchase.

If you need to secure a small house or an apartment this is just the system to use. The price is great. My neighbor bought one of the simply systems and paid big bucks for the same technology. This would be great for college students in apartments or even in a dorm room.

I put new batteries in it. It would work great but all day long I have to deal with false alarms. I haven’t hooked up the motion detector. I don’t understand it. It goes off while I’m sitting there for no reason.

I do not recommend this product.

Excellent,very accurate Station for the price. Its minor flaws are running a few degrees high in full sun. That can be remedied with makeshift additional shield easily. The other is having to log n2 router isp to use software.

They need to change that. That’s why 4 instead of 5 stars.

System was easy to setup. Connecting with Weather Underground allowed me to view the weather at my home via their app. Definitely recommend it.

In the box is the Ring Alarm Pro, Alarm Pro Base Station Adapter, Range Extender, motion detector, contact sensors (3), keypad adapter and instruction manual with important product information pamphlet.

First impression, I really love the design of the inside of the box, everything is neatly boxed and labeled. I would highly recommend you read the instructions as well, just to give yourself a little information about the different options.

Overall, I was a little disappointed that if I plan to use my local internet provider that I have to run an Ethernet cable to the Ring Alarm Pro but overall I like this idea because of all of the additional things that can be done with the Ring Alarm Pro.

I live in a two level home and my modem is on the bottom level. I do have tower extenders on the upper level so plugging to a modem wasn’t a problem. Also, the Ring uses two apps, the WiFi network uses eero app to connect to the internet and the Ring app.

A good thing about the Ring is if you don’t have an internet connection then you can use cellular data with their Ring Protect plan. (I know so many people in my area that are not able to get an internet service because of where they live, so this is a great option.

) Also, with professional monitoring, you can use the additional buttons on the keypad for police, fire and medical. Both apps are really easy to use and the Ring app walks you through installation and helps to make sure everything is connected to the Ring Alarm Pro.

When your ready to set up, download the apps and use the user guide when needed. Also, the Ring also offers Ring Power packs (battery packs) for when the power goes out and you can set them up under the Ring Alarm Pro; also keep in mind that you have to use this particular battery pack, no other product can be used.

For someone that is a homeowner and is looking for an option to assist with protecting your home, this product is good because there are so many additional components that you can add, like the Ring Video Doorbell and cameras.

Another good feature, the WiFi 6 option is available and you can add existing eero products but without them you can get up to 1500 square ft coverage. The Ring Alarm Pro supports up speeds up to 900mbps.

Overall, I love the possibilities of adding on with this product, especially the WiFi option because it is time for me to upgrade my WiFi system and with the power outages and working from home, the Power Pack options would also be a great option for me as well.

The best part is you can add up to four Power Packs (externally) for extra battery power but they will be an additional purchase but there is an internal backup battery inside that will provide up to 24 hours of power for the Ring.

With the external packs, all of the features of the Ring Alarm Pro will work but with the internal battery, there will be limited access to the Alarm features. For all of my friends and family that work from home and/or have children that complete online schooling, I will definitely recommend this product to them!.

The setup is pretty straight forward, with easy step by step instructions, it’s best to follow them in order after you familiarize yourself with all the components. If you’ve ever setup other Amazon products like a Ring doorbell or Echo smart speakers, this is similar, just a bit more complex with multiple components that need to be added to the system once you have your App and base station up and running.

Be prepared to spend a couple of hours getting everything up and running. If you need more assistance the Ring website has a lot more help available with lots of pictures too. The windows/door sensors can be programmed to generate a specific chime sound every time the door is opened, even when the system is disarmed, which comes in handy if you want to know when other family members come in and out.

App notifications for alarm events came in quickly while on the same Wi-Fi home network and with a few seconds delay while away from home. Generally speaking, if you have a simple home network setup that’s all Wi-Fi devices and don’t mind being fully integrated into the Ring ecosystem, this integration of the base station with the router may work for you.

If you are like me and have several network switches , wired devices and an ISP that still uses PPoE to authenticate my broadband connection, then this integrated router setup is not an option. You could get it to work as a bridge instead of an access point, but it’s a bit of a hassle and devices may get confused with potential double NAT-ing.

Moreover, the system tends to failover to cellular for no apparent reason. The cellular option is meant to come in handy if, say, someone tries to break in when you lose power and you no longer have an Internet connection, so you’ll still get notified via 4G LTE for the initial 3Gb/mo.

You can get even more data and additional professional monitoring if you subscribe to the Ring Protect Pro plan, but that could get pricey. It’s likely to still be cheaper than most other traditional alarm systems and include a lot more extras.

All in all, this is a great concept for an integrated all-in-one alarm system that’s also trying to be your home network, but for some that may not be an advantage.

This a very useful item for those who are even slightly concerned about the condition of the freezer or refrigerator. If the fridge contains any expensive stuff (such as medicine etc. ) it is very good to know that the temperature is correct.

Quite often the door might not be closed properly and the high-temperature alarm will sound off before the temperature goes too high and the condensed moisture soaks up the fridge interiors. The same goes for freezers, leaving the door ajar will cause the frost to build up.

Similar products with validation certificates are being sold for industrial- or research laboratories with a bigger price. This products goes well for the home-use which apparently doesn’t require full compliance with FDA-requirements or ISO-quality systems.

Generally a neat product with very good build quality, eg mouldings, and lots of features. Useful to show if your fridge/freezer has packed up and also if it is running at the best temperature – could save money on electricity which would pay for it? Instructions could be a little clearer, ie printed white on grey and possibly two small errors/ambiguities, but overall it exceeded expectations.

Its a good bit of kit easy to set and the cables for the thermistor temperature measuring probe is flat so won’t deform the air seal on the fridge door. Only down side is that the display is slightly too heavy for the unit to hold fast and not slide on the painted surface of the steel door of the fridge /freezer, so bit of adhesive foam strip has ended stuck under the edge of the display so it can’t keep sliding.

Now I have found the working points of the fridge / freezer no more setting up alarms Very good.

I bought this for the alarm. The alarm is sooo quiet that you’d need to be within 10 feet to hear the faint chirping sound. My freezer is in the basement. Worthless for my needs.

There is no mention on SimpiSafe’s main website that inorder to use all the features of their App you must spend 24. 99/month. The website mentions that monitoring is 14. 99/month and when you go down to the section on the App it does not say that it is extra to use the main features.

Nor is there a mention that for video record and playback for the cameras that if you do not want professional monitoring at 24. 99/month it will cost you 4. 99/month per camera. I found out about the 4.

99/month charge when I installed the door bell video camera. At this point I had not installed the main system and was unaware of the 24. 99 option. I found that the door video is not of much value without the video recording.

It did a fairly good job of letting you know of action around the door via alerts, but by the time you open tne app and look at a live video whatever caused the alert was gone. I saw that I could get rcording for 4.

99/month. However. another well known brand charged less than 3. 00/month. Called SimpliSafe and told the agent that I wanted to return the Door Bell and the reaon why. The agent didn’t tell me that I had the 24.

99/month plan and that did not need to pay an extra 4. 99 above what I thought was a 14. 99 plan. The agent sent me a prepaid return label via email, The installation of the main security system was easy.

My main concern was how well the base station would work over cellular since the signal in my home was weak. Therefore, I did not activite the wifi portion of the system since it will use wifi if the cellular signal is too weak.

I noticed that using the app via phone or laptop was not acting right. Called SimpliSafe and was told they would send a Verizon cellular module to be placed in the base station instead of the T-Mobile that was in it.

The agent did not mention that most of the features of the app would not work properly without wifi. The replacement module came, I installed it, but the app kept indicating that there was a weak cellular signal and that I should move the base station to different location in the house.

While playing around with the features on the app I saw that my plan was 24. 99/month when I thought it was 14. 99/month. I called SimpliSafe about the issue with the signal and thre app. Was told that the cellular signal now seemed to be ok, but for the app to work the wifi would have to be activited on the base station.

I switched subject to my monthly monitoring fee. I was told if I only wanted the 14. 99/month service the app would be very limited; no alerts, no ability to change features of the devices, and no ability to arm or disarm the base system via app.

I mentioined this was the first I heard of the 24. 99/month and that their web site did not mention any additional fee to use the features on the app. I like the system and I cannot see using the system without a fully functional app.

You can use the app on as many cell phones as you want and thus you really don’t need extra keypads to turn the system off, home, or away. So instead of using or buying extra fobs, just use the app. That being said I can’t see spending an extra 120.

00/year for the app. The monitoring was already more expensive than another well known DIY system, but I liked so of the features of the SimpliSafe system thus willing to pay extra for services. The agents Simplisafe all said that even though there was no mention of the additional cost for the use of the app it is what it is.

The indicated that Icould get one to six months of monitoring free, but then the monthly would return to 24. 99. I’m returning the SimpliSafe system while I still can (you have 60 days via simpliSafe) and going to this other well known Brand that you get the features of the app and monitoring for 100.

00/per year instead of 299. 88. If you don’t want monitoring or don’t care what you pay for monitoring this is a good system.

I’m using this system as a back-up to a previously installed wireless home alarm system. The Simpli-Safe system ie very easy to install, operates well, and allows great flexibility to add or relocate sensors.

which are small and unobtrusive. The lighted central alarm tower provides a great deal of confidence in the overall system. The system’s wireless remote and the key-pad are well designed and are easy to use, see and operate.

Although it is an expensive system, the overall performance is worth the cost. The warning signage provided with the system is a great benefit, as are the numerous media commercials that let nefarious characters know what a Simpli-Safe system can do, and thus provide even greater preventive residential protection.

The system comes well packaged with good instruction sheets. It’s a good buy that makes me feel secure in my home.

This is my 2nd system. I needed one for my weekend lake house now. My main home system has been in place for about 5 years or so and I will say the new improvements on this system are nice. Took about 15 minutes to install.

Everything is stuck with adhesive “command type” strips. The only issue is that being in a rural area in East Texas, the cellular service that is standard in the system doesn’t work. A simple call to tech support and they overnighted a new cellular part that installs very easy.

I had to do the same on our old system. (I believe t-mobile is standard but Verizon is what they replaced it with). Love Simplisafe and they are always ready to help. As for monitoring, You can choose to have “no” monitoring (free) but the alarm will just make noise and that’s it.

A isn’t have addition to your Ring alarm. We got a two pack of these for our basement. Just in case we happen to lose our sump pump or water heater springs a leak, these will prove to be worth their weight in gold.

After syncing them with the alarm base, I used a damp paper towel to test each of them in their locations. They both worked flawlessly!! I got an alert immediately on my phone and then an automated phone call.

I hope I never get that phone call, but with a finished basement, it’s money well spent just in case. Highly recommend these!!.

Not really like these much. I bought these for my garage and basement as these areas do not have heat in the winter. They are expensive and they are plain too simple. I wish the sensor has some temperature measurement and it sends the measurement to the Ring app to let me know what my basement and garage’s temperatures are at a given moment.

Also be careful if you have Ring Protect Plus. These sensors somehow triggered phone calls from Professional service in the middle of the night. I thought I turned this off but someone they still triggered the unneccessary call.

I took it off my garage in the winter for this reason. very annoying.

These sensors are add-ons for Ring security system. Not stand alone sensors, need hub to communicate. That being said, these are excellent additions as I am a victim of flooded HVAC system due to blocked water condensation pipe once and washing machine pipe drain fell off another time.

I wish I had these sensors long back to avoid those accidents but at least now I can be at peace knowing that these will work or alarm me when needed. Need to check the battery life as I recently installed them.

i purchased the Ring Alarm Security Kit 5-piece (2nd-gen) and the Ring Retrofit Alarm Kit as a bundle during Best Buy’s on-line Black Friday sales event and had it delivered to my home since i would receive it earlier than if delivered to the store.

i wanted to replace the large 30+ year old Radio Shack alarm box but keep the wired doors and windows zones since they still worked and according to what i read, the Retrofit Alarm kit is used to interface existing wired doors and windows zones with the Ring Alarm base.

because this review is on the Ring Retrofit Alarm kit and not the bundle i separated the part of my review on the Ring Alarm Security Kit and did it on that item review the Ring Retrofit Alarm kit was easy to mount since it already had holes in the unit for two screws to be used to mount on the wall – i mounted it near to the alarm base station to set up the Ring Retrofit Alarm Kit, i followed the instructions provided by the Ring web site: -> https://support.

ring. com/hc/en-us/articles/360036012151-Ring-Retrofit-Alarm-Kit-Installation-Instructions -> if your current alarm panel and wired contacts for the doors and windows still work, then there should be no issues with moving the wires from the panel to the retrofit kit.

any wired alarm siren or warning lights cannot be interfaced with the Ring Alarm base. -> follow the instructions about disarming and removing all power from the old alarm -> just remember to keep your wired zones together when you secure them to the retrofit kit terminal – the hole for each terminal is small so if you have multiple windows on the same zone, it would be best to get a terminal block connector so you can connect all the window zone wires to the block and just have one pair of outgoing wires to connect to the retrofit kit terminal -> example of zones and assignment to retrofit kit terminal -> zone 1: front door – terminal 1 and C -> zone 2: back door – terminal 2 and C -> zone 3: all windows – all wires from the windows are connected to a terminal block and only two wires from the terminal block connect to the Retrofit kit terminal 3 and C i downloaded the Ring app from the Apple App Store to my iPhone and iPad -> using the Ring App on my iPad: -> added Retrofit Alarm kit -> to set up the Retrofit Alarm kit and add your zones -> select the Retrofit Alarm, select Zone Settings and select each zone -> once each zone has been added, they are listed under the Sensors group -> you can rename the zone by selecting it and selecting the Device Settings -> if you want a notification when the zone is opened, select OPEN ALERTS -> if you want a notification when the zone is closed, select CLOSED ALERTS -> you will need to enable notifications for the Ring app on your device all in all, i like the Ring Alarm system, how easy it was to set up, how small the Ring Alarm base and Retrofit Alarm kit are when compared to the old Radio Shack alarm box which i removed from the wall after i transferred the wired doors and windows zones to the Retrofit Alarm kit.

i like how you get a notification on your device and an audible chime from the alarm base when any zone is opened or closed – all of these are customizable through the Ring app. i would recommend the Ring Alarm Security kit and if you are looking to replace your old working alarm system with working wired zones, then i would recommend the Ring Alarm Retrofit kit (see my review on the Ring Alarm Security kit).

Great product, even better support. I got this to replace the sensors from my ADT system because I already had a lot of them physically embedded in my doors/windows. I was a little weary because they recommend a professional technician to do the wiring (I do have electrical wiring experience from my high school and college) but the installation was extremely simple if you read the instructions first.

The Ring support for these devices is awesome, I had a question as my actual ADT implementation had unexpected resistors on the wiring, I called them up, they asked for pictures of the wiring and the schematic (that was attached to the ADT box) and in less than a day they gave me specific instructions on how to proceed.

This allowed me to expand my current Ring system, their app is quite simple to use and I was able to stop paying those monthly alarm maintenance fees.

My house has all sensors built-in, so had to get this to make use of it. Had to get the professional install since it recommended that. But I think if you like doing DIY and a little savvy with electrical stuff you can do it yourselves.

The replacement was flawless, all existing sensors work well with the system.

I used this in conjunction with the SimpliSafe home alarm/monitoring system to monitor the temperature of a vacation home remotely. The sensor worked great to provide me with the indoor temperature of the home (internal room).

The SimpliSafe system does require the upgraded monitoring ($25/month) in order to see the remote temperature and to indicate the desire temperature setting.

Especially great at detecting temps when it gets very cold. Great to have in places like the basement or on an outside wall with little insulation . Nice to be alerted by simply safe.

Sensor works great for what it is designed for, which is to alert you before your pipes freeze. I want to use this in my refrigerator and freezer. It only goes down to 0 F so it doesn’t work in a deep freeze.

It reacts very quickly so you can’t have the fridge door open long.

This is a pretty good product. The app has many configurations, and there are ways to use it with Echo, HASS and HomeKit, although limited. Few things why you might want to look elsewhere: – security alarm from homebase will not wake you up unless it’s right next to you.

Eufy doorbell has solid volume but cannot be connected as alarm device to existing homebase. – security issue that they are yet to fix (year+): if someone steals your outdoor camera and presses reset on that camera, the footage from homebase will be gone and you will never know who stole it.

No chances to recover it either, since resetting will unlink it from your account. I like customizations and also $5/month plan for self monitoring and dispatching cops. Still, if I build a security system for a house I’ll live in forever, I rather use SS due to 2 issues above.

Had this for a few months now and pretty satisfied. Gives great flexibility with how to monitor your home as the hub is also a motion detector. The 2 Nest detects are small enough to blend into your walls if your walls are painted white.

I like how they can either be used as motion detectors or sensors that sound when contact is broken. Supposedly can also detect glass breaking, but haven’t had first hand experience of that. Alarm is loud enough that can be heard outside with door closed (but I doubt neighbors will hear unless window broken or door open (or if they live close enough to you and it’s quiet).

Very easy to install. Love how can monitor home without having to pay for a subscription. Can easily set it to guard via app (or smart speaker). Can also set it so that it doesn’t go off if you have small pets.

Lastly, can deactivate with either typing in code, tapping key fob, or via app. I’ve tried to deactivate with my voice on my Google assistant and it doesn’t let me (which I’m happy since I know no home invader can just turn it off by asking it to).

So far, have not had any false alarms yet. I know Google discontinued this, but if you find it somewhere and it’s at a price you can afford, I’d recommend it.

We loved this system, it was so well thought out and easy to use. Unfortunately, Google disconnected the Secure less than a month after we purchased it and and for several weeks didn’t respond to customers’ concerns about what would happen to the product and service.

We lost faith in Google’s commitment to home security since they discontinued after this was only around for about 3 years and they left very vague comments or refused to comment on the service after its discontinuance.

If Google didn’t have faith in their own product for the long term then we took that to meant that they did not either so returned it during the return period. Such a shame, it was a great system but we couldn’t even purchase more parts to add on so it was only half-functional as a basic system covering half our house with no known date of when other parts would be available.

Bummer, I wish they hadn’t done this because we went with Simplisafe instead and it kind of sucks compared to Nest but at least they are committed to home security whereas Google was/is not and that matters more in the long run.

Really great price. Exactly what is listed. In perfect condition. a great replacement or addition to your compatible home security system. At this price, it made more sense to use these to replace my old smoke detectors instead of a non-monitored version.

A little tricky to program in the system yourself, but that’s not unique to these devices. My older panel requires tricky programming to attach ANY device. Just know that you’ll have to figure it out yourself, or ask for assitance from your monitoring company (mine’s Vivint).

Very disappointed with these items. They were all expired and in poor condition, corroded battery terminals and yellow housings and dirty.

Works as described. Auto detected by the GC3 panel. Setup was a breeze along with all of the other 2 Gig products I have used. I have already recommended to my clients.
