20 Best Wigs For Alopecia (2022 Updated)

Although I know Outre’s Melted Hairline series is a good brand, I was hesitant to purchase this wig because synthetic wavy hair usually doesn’t last longt. I was going to purchase this wig in a different color but when I saw a YouTube video featuring this wig in color DRFF2/CINNAMON MOCHA, I decided to try it.

I didn’t plan to wear it out, it was going to be a wig I mostly wear around the house when working from home. Well, to my surprise this wig was so soft and beautiful, I have been wearing it for about 2 weeks and I wear it around the house and when I leave the house and even to work on days I work in person.

I try not to sleep in my wigs but I’ve have unintentionally fallen asleep in this wig. Although I have been wearing this unit almost daily, so far, the waves (crimping) are still here. It rarely tangles.

The lower back of most wigs, regardless if Remy, human or synthetic usually tangles/mats under the bottom (the part that touches the neck/back) but when this unit tangles it isn’t bad and it’s just so easy to comb through the back.

I use a wide tooth comb on that area with no issues. I have brushed the hair also just to test to see if the crimping would stay. I would suggest a wide tooth comb vs brushing or finger comb. So far, the wig is still looking good.

I plan to wash the unit this weekend and hopefully it will look the same but if the crimping doesn’t stay, it won’t be a loss because I can curl or flat iron the unit because the hair is still really soft.

What really impresses me about this series is that the hair is so soft, it looks natural, the cap fits well and there is very minimal to almost zero shedding. Hopefully the comments will allow me to add an addendum after I wash this wig.

I really feel it will look just as nice as it does now.

When I saw the wig on Instagram and I saw the Cinnamon/mocha colour I was like I HAVE TO HAVE IT !! And once I ordered it not many women was reviewing the hair on YouTube maybe 2-3 weeks after Youtubers started to make videos about the wig.

Majority of them was saying “ there’s shedding, tangling “ “ very thin “ and also saying they can see the tracks mostly at the back and I DON’T EXPERIENCE NONE!! This wig is not shedding or tangling, very full just the way I like it and it’s very soft.

The colour is absolutely beautiful. The shipping overall was a little rocky but I can’t complain because of covid-19 shipping is started to delay a lot but like I said this wig. LADIES you need to get!! Thank you elevatestyle💗💗.

I’m a little disappointed because the hair is not what is described. After washing it, I realized the hair is permed. Also the hair cut and length does not look like anything in the picture. I think the best way to go is order a custom piece but processing time takes longer than normal so had to order something in stock.

I don’t think I’ll be purchasing another stock one.

I love this wig and this color, it is a neutral dark blonde and its beautiful. I would love to say more but I wore her fpr only 1 day around my house and took her off next to my chair later my husband sat down (its an electric lift chair) and dropped her down by the foot and lifted to recline ripping my new hair oiece about 3 full inches near the left ear tab, im sewing it back together but I think she may have to be an around the house wig now.

I ordered the Raquel Welch Top Billing in color RL10/12 Sunlit Chestnut. The topper was pretty but the color was just too dark (maybe too ashy) for me. I previously ordered the RL12/16 Honey Toast — it was a little too light.

I am at a loss on how to order the right Raquel Welch color — the professional recommendation was to order the RL10/12 that I just returned. I love the RW heat defiant fiber, density and texture — it looks like REAL hair.

My current “go to” toppers are Jon Renau Top Smart in 12/30BT Rootbeer Float and Jon Renau Top Coverage in 12 Light Golden Brown but I just don’t love the shiny synthetic (non HD) fiber. (I’ve tried several techniques to “de-shine” but I’m still not happy.

) I think RW Top Billing could be a winner if I can ever find the right color.

I’ve just received my 4th Top Billing topper and wanted to review again. The first two I bought in 2020 and was thrilled. Perfect fit right out of the box, color was exceptional, thick, but not too thick and not too shiny.

However when I bought a new Top Billing in Feb of 2021, I could tell the difference right away and sadly the same is true of the one I just got. Two different colors, same problem. The material is thinner, shinier and unwearable without a lot of fussing.

It’s not as long or as full and because its thinner it flips up on the ends and doesn’t look natural. It doesn’t hang properly. I have thin hair all over so if I want to wear my hair “down” I need enough thickness on the topper to cover my bio hair.

No problem wearing the 2020 Top Billings down, but the new ones I have to clip or pin or wear up because they’re too thin. Also the new material is noticeably shinier and I’ve spent a lot of time washing and dry shampooing to try and get it to look more natural.

I’m really disappointed as I’ve tried a lot of toppers and thought I’d finally found “the one”!.

Suffering from age related hair loss made my life miserable. I’ve been wearing wigs part time for years but went full time a couple month ago. I purchased Top Billing to give me another hair loss option without having to wear a full wig.

I bought it in two colors, RL12-22SS and RL9-22SS. Both of them look good with my hair color but give me different looks. Originally my hair was longer and lighter but I trimmed and darkened to better match roots.

So, some info for first time buyers of heat defiant fibers. Out of the box they are gorgeous and soft. A day into use they do become more coarse and eventually (sooner than later) they will feel very coarse and scratchy—no matter what—IF you are wearing full time.

My hair loss is front, top and temple area so it’s harder to attach the front side clips. Following YouTube videos I now use ItStays for the lace front on all my wigs and toppers and that gives me a secure attachment.

Overall I do recommend Top Billing and definitely would purchase it again.

This is my first heat friendly topper. I’ve always worn human hair toppers and I have a Jon Renau synthetic wavy one. I was looking for a more affordable solution to human hair especially with how difficult finding hair during the pandemic was! I don’t wear hair just to look better I have over all serious thinning and really need helper hair.

I’m definitely a candidate for a wig but I’m holding out as long as I can with toppers. I do have to tape my toppers because I don’t have enough hair for clips to be comfortable. This topper is good for adhesives.

I gave this topper 4 stars only because I haven’t washed or curled it yet. It was really nice right out of the box. I am 60 so I don’t like too much hair and get tired of having to thin out the toppers I get.

That wasn’t necessary with this one at all. It’s dense enough for good overall coverage, especially in the back which is sometimes a problem with other toppers, without being too thick. No permatease which is great for me, I don’t like that stuff! The color I have is a great medium brown 8/30 Cocoa Twist.

The fibers look very natural and don’t seem to tangle like my one synthetic does. I like the cap size and the mono top is nice, light, and cool. If I like this one after washing and styling, I’m planning to get a second one.

This is really good care for synthetic wig. It really lasted more than two weeks with every day where and styling it was super easy and nice. This is an easy every day wear or if you’re trying to be professional and get a nice look it would be good for that as well.

I always get my wigs cut by a pro wig stylist who creates wigs so I may have an advantage here. She cut it just beautifully and I’ve worn it daily for a year. I take very good care of it and it looks like real hair, still, a year later.

It can look messy, unkempt and “bed-head” like, too, if I don’t style it but that is part of the reason I like it so much. It looks very natural. 100% human lasts longer than the Remy Human which I find looks “wiggish” after a few months due to the synthetics in it.

I will order another soon however wish the colours were more varied.

overall i think it is a nice wig except for the front of it. I wanted to wear all the hair back but the wig has a stiff backing material that shows on the front hairline so that one could not brush all the hair back; it necessitates you having bangs which i don’t particularly care for.

I think it was bit pricey considering the above problem.

I have bought a lot of wigs and I must say that this is my favorite. I ordered the “Natural” color which is the natural, untreated color ofnthe donor. The hair is AWESOME. It’s velvety soft and have a nice natural wave.

You can make it straighter or curlier. The hair has gorgeous auburn highlights and the color is dark brown. It looks very real just like a healthy head of hair. You don’t have to fuss with it-just wash and dry.

I wear this pretty wig every day. The cap is comfy and stretchy. I have a 22″ head and it fits me fine. It is so light weight that I hardly know it’s on. I don’t understand why there are not more reviews.

This unit is a keeper and when this one wears out, I will buying another!.

The outer box is very appealing which for me makes it even more exciting to open. The hair smells like plastic but thats easily rectified by exposure to the air. I give it a shake adjust the elastic tension and secure it over my wig cap.

It looks great, more curly than wavy though which is ok. Shipping was timely. This wig can do no wrong. I highly recommend.

I would have given it a 5. The reason I didn’t was because the cap was too small on my medium to large head. I ordered two. One in Natural and the other was color 1. The color #1 was larger and the one that I prefer.

To its credit, the hair on this unit is absolutely gorgeous. It feels like velvet, has a healthy shine, and it is just the right thickness. If you have a smaller head, you will really enjoy this beautiful wig.

I’m a big fan of Elite, which will always be my favorite EW style. The cut on this one is great and similiar to elite but with more face framing layers in the front which very modern. The hair so silky and such a natural looking density.

I’m having a hard time though with the colors. Not sure if they changed the colors but cannot find hot chocolate mix my go to for elite and few other older styles, in the newer styles. Also, the same color in different collections look somewhat different.

I purchased this in dark chocolate mix and starting wearing it recently and don’t see too much highlights, granted i haven’t washed it yet, for some reason that makes a difference sometimes in the fiber.

I have amina in the same color and although a rich brown you can see all of the highlights, this has more of a inky look, I can wear easily as my eyes are very dark and my coloring is okay with it. I definitely love this style, and will someday down the road when i can get a good deal try the chocolate shaded.

This wig is a bit out of my budget so cannot buy full price at the moment.

This was my first purchase of a wig from Ellen Wille and Wig Studio 1. I was very disappointed in the quality of this wig. One the wig had short hairs sticking out from it at different ankles. When I put this wig on I surprised at how thin it looked.

I asked my husband what he thought of the wig. He immediately noticed both issues. He said it weird hair sticking out all over at the top and he said the wig looked like it had the same problem I had with thinning hair.

When I put it on my wig mannequin the thinning at the top became even more evident. This wig had serious quality issues. I returned the wig to Wig Studio 1; they issue me full credit for the wig, but, they would not cover the return shipping.

I felt they should because this wig definitely had quality issues. I wish I could post the pictures I sent to Wig Studio 1; it was so evident in the photos of the problems with this wig.

This review is for the Ellen Wille/Hair Power/ Daily. I thought I had reviewed it before, but I have not seen it posted. I like the style and the color, Salt/Pepper-Mix, but it does not appear to be well made.

There are so many short little hairs sticking up all over. I tried to trim some of them, but they are throughout the entire area of the wig. This makes it look very shoddy and not natural. Perhaps it is just this one particular wig that was not supervised for quality control during manufacturing.

But it is very disappointing because I have extreme hair loss and I need a wig I can feel confident in. The sale price was reasonable enough and it would be too costly and time consuming to return, so I will keep it but I will probably only wear it around the house or out to check the mail.

This wig is BEAUTIFUL! I have her in maple brown and she is a stunner! The hair is sooo soft and bouncy! My daughter thought is 100% human hair! I haven’t worn her yet, waiting for a special occasion.

I might have to buy another color!.

I would recommend this wig, because of the good quality of hair. I look to see if wigs have good quality, and appearance; and Maximina did. I would say this wig could last 2 to 3 months with daily use and proper care.

I like it! It’s very natural looking and straight, like my natural hair. This is only my second topper- my first was Renau “Top Full” in Strawberry Syrup, which may look red/gold to brunettes, but next to my red hair, it is very brown and dark.

So, this color R30 28 26 is much better. I’m looking at longer, more impactful toppers, as I cut a lot of my length off with the previous topper. But this wiglet seems a perfect transition topper on my way to something special.

The front layers are nice and the back length is nice. I’m getting used to the base. The JR topper had a base of 11”! Very full coverage! So this base almost feels as though it will move. It doesn’t.

There are many advantages to having a small base- believability when up in pony or bun. My natural hair is fine, thin and very straight- NO body, does not hold a curl, yet grows so very fast that my gray roots are excessive within 4 weeks of coloring, which makes this wiglet topper the best version of my hair and the perfect everyday solution.

I have ordered MANY toppers over the past several years, and even a few wigs which I have cut into Toppers. My favorites are Rene of Paris Medium Top, Jon Renau Top Notch, and Rene of Paris Cameron wig which I’ve cut into a topper.

BUT, the finding perfect topper has been elusive for me. I generally do not like full mono tops because there isn’t enough volume for me (my face shape really requires some lift at the crown). I’m not opposed to permatease, but of course if it’s not done well, it can make a piece tacky and fake looking.

Finally, color is so difficult with toppers as the color selections are definitely limited, whereas wigs come in a fuller array of colors. This new Topper by Estetica excites me for the following reasons: 1.

Better color selection, at least for me. I ordered R6 27H which is a nice neutral brunette with soft colorations of warmth. It’s perfect for winter, and when summer comes and my bio hair lightens up, I’ll probably take a shot at R6 28H because my hair definitely turns a more coppery brunette in the summer months.

The shading and tone of this topper is very natural. 2. Best of both worlds. Having a cap with a mono part, which looks natural, open wefting which keeps the topper light, and a limited, but necessary amount of permatease for volume makes for a very nice topper.

3. The fibers – they are perfect – soft and fine, and very natural looking. There is shine out of the box, but nothing that can’t be toned down with some dry shampoo. I use Batiste dry shampoo in the brown color and it does the trick.

I’m very happy with this topper. I hope it lasts longer than my Rene of Paris Medium Tops, and from reviews I’ve read, I have reason to believe Estetica makes quality product that should last with proper care.

One last thing worth mentioning, when I read reviews where customers return items, both toppers and wigs, because they are too thick, or too long, I often think it’s a shame that that person didn’t take the piece to a hairdresser.

Yes, it adds to the cost to have it trimmed and/or thinned to suit YOUR face shape and hairstyle, but it’s worth every penny because you end up with a realistic style that compliments your features. My hairdresser had never worked with hairpieces, but he’s a talented stylist.

The first run was scary but he and I have both learned how to make this all work for me, and it is THE reason why I’m comfortable wearing hairpieces at all times now, and why no one, not even my daughters and sisters, knew I was wearing anything until I chose to tell them.

Take the time to find someone who can do this for you. The cost is offset by return shipping for purchasing, trying and returning again and again hair pieces that just don’t look right. I now spend less money having Toppers trimmed and thinned every few months than I did getting my bio hair cut every 4-6 weeks.

Even out of the box though, this Estetica Topper looks way better than the stock photo depicts. Worth a try for the price I say!.

This hair is so freaking soft and lightweight! I got this for fall looks. But I’m honestly gonna get anther for summer it’s sooo light and fluffy, perfect for hot days. I combed the front forward and cut bangs for a cute retro curly fringe.

This wig is a beautiful color. It doesn’t have extra lace you need to cut off so that’s a plus. There are two combs in the front but I wish there was one in the back to secure it.

Purchased for my daughter and she loves it. I shop here often and am rarely disappointed… Elevate styles is awesome!

The cap of the wig fits perfectly, the quality of hair is great. Would prefer if the lenght of the hair in front would be the same lenght as the hair at the back of the wig.

I’ve bought this wig twice and plan on getting another one in a different color. I first tried it on and bought it in a hair store. It looked nice on me so I looked it up online and found the exact one and purchased it again.

It was easy ordering and it arrived in a couple of days. I noticed on my first one, I sprayed light hair spray to add sheen. I wore it everyday for 2 months and the curls started to tangle so I took a large tooth comb and combed it out.

Now the curls are more loose than before. It still looks good for me. That’s another reason I have two. One is a loose curl look while the newer one is a tighter curl look. I’m still watching and learning how long they will last and how they will look over time.

But, for now, they are very convenient for me.

I just received my unit today (fast delivery) this unit is just what I wanted, the picture doesn’t do it any justice. The hair is full and the texture is so light and fluffy. I ordered it in 99j and the color is exceptional.

Just had to add moisturizer and fluff it out with my fingers and I was ready to go. There are no combs in the unit but none is needed, it fits so comfortable and snug. I will be ordering this unit again in another color.

Very nice wig (once you wash out the doll-hair smell. Very soft to touch. Curls easily refreshed when spritzed with water and hand detangled. Softness and curls easily renewed with each wash and conditioning and detangling.

Some shedding but not an alarming amount considering the affordability of this wig.
