20 Best Wii Baseball Game (2022 Updated)

I was really looking for a decent baseball game that wasn’t overly complicated with Wii controls. When I was a kid, I owned “Little League Baseball” for NES and, to this day, is one of my favorite games of all time.

The controls were simple, the game play was fun, and it was somewhat realistic. This game isn’t terrible, but isn’t great at the same time. The hitting controls leave something to be desired as just about every motion of the Wii controller makes the batter swing.

However, it’s very difficult to hit the ball with any power. The pitching controls are terrible. You have 3 pitches essentially. fast ball, change, curve. which is pretty normal for Little League. However, you really can’t locate the pitches very well.

The fielding is kind of a nightmare. you don’t have a lot of time to react. The mini-games are kind of fun. Home Run Derby is pretty addicting as they give you targets to shoot for. Overall, the 3 out of 5 rating is pretty accurate.

I would be interested to see how some of the other mainstream games fair.

First impression is that my 5 year old son loves it but 6 year old daughter not very interested. A little more detailed baseball game than the one is Wii Sports. Has stats for every player and Brent Musburger(sp?) commentates.

He ends repeating himself alot but the kids didn’t notice. Graphics are great and great “baseball” sounds. When you are the batter you definitely see a variety of pitches to hit so if your child hasn’t played a video baseball game before it may take awhile to learn to hit.

They’re not unhittable it just may it take awhile. Pitching is the same way in that you can pitch a variety of stuff and not that difficult to learn, very similar in technique to the Wii Sports baseball game.

You can get caught running too far once you get a hit so you have to judge if you can make it to the next base or not, you won’t stop automatically like in Wii Sports. Will update hopefully as the kids play more.

This is a good baseball game. If your looking for something more advanced than the Original Wii Sports Baseball, then I recommend this for you. The controls are a little more advanced than expected and it took about 15 minutes to do the training.

Once I got the hang of the controls the game was fun to play! I must admit, I have only had it for a short time, but I foresee myself and friends playing this game for hours on end! I am definitely looking forward to playing the newer updated versions of this game when I am finished!.

This is 2k’s last MLB game for PC. The gameplay is still better 12 years later than the only other baseball game you can get on PC which is R. B. I. Baseball that hasn’t been good since the NES days.

They removed the classic batting and pitching settings in the PC version but once you get the hang of using the sticks it’s fine. This is also the first year of MyPlayer so you can enjoy Franchise and controlling the whole team or just your player.

As expected, the Xbox 360 version of Major League Baseball 2K6 flaunts nicer visuals and livelier audio than either of the versions of the game that are available for the PlayStation 2 and the older Xbox.

It also benefits from a slightly better variety of play animations and cutaways. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the jump to the 360 hasn’t done much overall to spice up the game’s halfhearted presentation.

Many player faces are still inaccurate, the same replays and play animations still recur frequently, and, although the animation is more fluid in this version, the players still look a little jittery while they’re running.

To further complicate matters, the Xbox 360 game also suffers from a greater frequency of minor bugs and AI quirks than its so-called “last-generation” counterparts do. None of these rough edges are deal breakers on their own, but, taken together, they conspire to severely drag down what is otherwise a deep and feature-rich baseball sim.

Without a doubt, the graphics put the high-resolution capabilities of the 360 hardware to good use, at least in the technical sense. The player and stadium models are heavily detailed and everything has a sharp, vibrant look.

Scoreboards and signs behind the outfield, which automatically update with line scores and dynamic advertisements, are perfectly legible from behind the plate. Finer details–such as skin tones, facial features, clothing, dirt, and turf–look more textured in the Xbox 360 version, as contrasted with the comparatively muted details found in the versions available for the PS2 and the original Xbox.

Player faces look disturbingly human, although, for every face that actually matches a real player’s, there’s another that’s completely wrong. On the one hand, Pedro Martinez and Alex Rodriguez look like the guys you see on TV every couple of days.

On the other hand, Manny Ramirez doesn’t have his knotty dreds and Ichiro Suzuki looks like he’s an Italian-American. The crowd in the 360 game is especially impressive. Every last spectator, from the fans behind the plate to those in the upper deck, is a complete 3D model, which is quite the improvement over the cardboard cutouts and low-poly people normally found in the seats in most sports video games.

Individual spectators stand up, wave, and fidget in their seats. In certain views, you’ll notice pizza and beverage vendors walking the concourses. After a home run, the cutaway viewpoint will show the person who caught the ball celebrating their catch.

It’s also very cute how spectators fight over foul balls that are hit into the stands. When compared side by side with the PS2 and original Xbox versions, the Xbox 360 version looks smoother in motion and has a wider variety of play animations and cutaways.

Players still look a little jittery when they run, but individual plays are silky smooth. On the whole, the variety of different plays is good. Routine throws from the infield to first all look the same, but there are plenty of different animations for double plays, outfield catches, and non-routine plays.

It really is like the difference between night and day when you see how many different shoestring catches and athletic grabs happen in this version of the game compared to the others. There are also more instant replays, crowd cutaways, and player-reaction shots to see in the Xbox 360 game.

MBL 2k7 is a great baseball game that does almost everything right. Alot of ppl complain about the computer robbing you of homeruns, its too hard to steal bases ect. but with the adjustable sliders you can make the game play anyway that you want it.

Just go in and slow down the outfield runners speed or speed up you players baserunning speed and so on. ( Try these settings at the games website forums then tweak it too your liking. http://2ksports.

com/forums/showthread. php?t=108883&page=26 ) – also some ppl complain about the swing stick, you can change that too so that you just press (A) button to swing. The game is completely customizable so before players knock the game they should go in and try to make it play the way they want.

Overall the graphics are nice even though some players dont look spot, the wind blown cloth effect is a bit over the top and the audio for the anouncers can repeat too often the gameplay is simply too good to knock it for these small things.

There is alot of depth with the franchise mode, season, a homerun derby and a GM mode too keep you busy. You can even create players for your team so you can update the game for current team lineups.

Overall I highly recommend that people looking for a inexpensive baseball game try MLB 2k7. Just take the time to learn about the sliders and make the adjustments and you will be happy. I give it a 9 out of 10.

Great game. Fun twist on the usual american baseball stuff. Love the simple animation and the chance to play through as your own created character from college to the majors. Fun little roleplaying bit with replayability.

I originally played the 2008 first and wanted to try this one out. I loved them both.

Strengths- several game styles, good commentary and AI Weakness- minor player control issues, very “asian” This is a decent baseball game and is good fun, whether you’re playing against someone or the computer.

You can choose to play with just the wii remote (like in wii sports) or with the nunchuck (gives more of a gamer, skilled feel). Either way is good fun. The commentary is interesting and the AI is good as it is not as predictable as other baseball games (for example, the AI pitching will go for a 3 pitch strike-out, not automatically throw a ball on the 3rd pitch if the count is 0-2).

The only complaint I have about the game-play is maneuvering players in the outfield. The game automatically switches you to the player closest to the ball, which can cause confusion if it is hit in between 2 players (ive sent players the wrong way due to the computer switching automatically, costing extra bases).

Other than that, the diving, jumping, running bases, hitting and pitching is very intuitive and flows well. As for very “asian”, I say this for lack of better words. This game reminds me of pokemon or yugi-oh or some other asian created cartoon.

When you swing and miss completely, your batter spins around and has two “@”‘s for eyes. You’ll also see giant water droplets next to your GM’s head when he is sad or sweating. I’m sure kids an asians love it, but personally i feel that it makes the game rather childish and i could do without it.

In conclusion, it is a decent game and can be a lot of fun. If you are more mature, go for mlb 2k8. I wish I did, but I will still enjoy this game for all the positive aspects. I give it a 7/10.

The game makes up for in play what it lacks in graphics. Sort of bucks the trend of the realistic looking sports games on other systems like xbox or PS3. Unlike MLB 2k08 in which you smack homeruns in every at bat with no name players, power pros is more realistic rewarding only good aim and timing.

The interface works well with the remote and gives you the option of using the remote to swing the bat and pitch by actively swinging. If you want increased difficulty (ie aiming and timing for hitting and pitching) you can use the alternate controls (nunchuk for direction and the remote more like a traditional game pad).

The game has all the players you know and love and the announcer is not excessively annoying. Another cool feature is one that mixes an RPG style player development part of the game where you create and train a player as he comes up through the ranks from college (or high school I can’t recall) on.

Then you can actually use the player to play games. I think I would give this game a 8. 5 out of 10 just because it is lacking in the graphics department. As for the playability and the many different game play options, it ranks up there with any other sports game for the wii or baseball games on other systems.

I usually don’t write reviews but because most of the reviews for this item are out of place because foolish people choose to leave seller feedback on here, I have decided to offer an honest opinion from someone who has loved baseball and has played baseball video games all his life.

The pitching in this game is amazing–I love it. Hitting on rookie mode is really easy but I was never able to make the switch to the next difficulty level–it was way too hard. Things I found that were bad about the game: 1) The options for Franchise mode seem to be random.

I selected a 5-7-7 playoff format (the standard format) for 2 of my franchise modes and both had 1 game series for each of the rounds in the playoffs–VERY FRUSTRATING. 2) Although you can edit the music preferences, you cannot save them.

So you have to edit the music everytime if you don’t want to hear some of the really bad songs (although there are a lot of good ones). 3) In Franchise mode, I completed my first season at 162 games.

went through free agency. and the next season was 13 games long. Very annoying that I went through all that work and the settings just randomly switched. 4) As said by another reviewer, the stats are random.

Dustin Pedroia, according to the game, hit 32 home runs in 2008 and had a batting average over. 1000. 5) Although the rosters are accurate, the players ratings are not. Why is BJ Upton rated as an 85? Prince Fielder, who hit 50 homeruns, it rated as a 79.

It seems the company rushed this game and didn’t even put in the effort to update the player’s ratings from the year before. 6) In franchise mode, you have the ability to set your lineups but when you actually play in a game and want to put one of your starters on the bench (to rest them because their durability is low), the game does not allow you to change players.

It will continually make you play with the players you have set as your starters and won’t allow anyone to take a day off (i. e. every player plays 162 games unless injured). There are so many more problems with this game but I think I’ve offered enough.

This game is so bad that I have sold it on ebay and have gone back to playing mlb the show on playstation 2 (which is an AWESOME game). If you are not a serious fan of baseball (i. e. a casual fan), this game might be ok for you.

If you are a serious baseball fan and love statistics and having good control over the game, do NOT buy this game. The manufacturer thinks they can package up any garbage and sell it. Unacceptable. I only hope MLB the Show is available on WII next year.

Long time video baseball game fan. long time “the show” fan. and this game I think is better. The thing I really like about 2K9 is the pitching. Instead of selecting a pitch and then hitting a button twice for the pitch meter, you actually use the right analog stick and throw the pitch.

For example, a fast ball is straight back and staight foward, but if you bring it back and then foward to the left, it throws a circle change because it is the direction for the pitch. It is really unique.

You can also change settings to classic pitching if you don’t enjoy this style, but you’ll love it. Also, the camera angle for pitching is from the pitcher instead of the batter. So you are actually looking from the mound and depending on the batter the strike zone is really big, or really small.

The game gives you live sports scores while you play if you’re on xbox live, and can be enabled to update rosters everytime you load a game. Both really nice features. The graphics and gameplay are really smooth and look amazing.

Only compliant on the game is that there a couple gliches that they will hopefully work out next year. One is that sometimes the first baseman steps off the bag when he catches the ball and the runner is safe, you’ll never know it happens cuz it looks exaclty the same as an out.

The other thing is if it’s not a force out, the defensive player almost never gets the tag on the runner. I’m halfway through a season and i’ve only got an out once with a tag. It’s really aggrevating, but how nice the pitching and batting are really makes up for it.

Worth buying, great baseball game!.

I bought MLB 2K9 the other day, after watching a video on Youtube, which showed the graphics as so good, it was hard to tell if it was a game or not. The video “claimed” to be Wii Gameplay video. I’d been wanting a new baseball game, but didn’t want one with lousy graphics, so after watching those videos, I figured 2K9 was perfect, since my dad and I loved 2K6.

My dad gave me the money I needed, and I bought it. I put it in my Wii the second I got home, and to my shock, the graphics were absolutely horrible. The gameplay wasn’t much better, and the player customation lame and kinda appalling.

I wanted to return it, but since I’ve already opened it, I can’t. My dad and I played 2 player last night, and it wouldn’t let us choose our pitcher or lineup, and it would only let us throw a fastball.

Over and over again. Today I asked my dad if he wanted to play again, and he said “Yeah, but let’s play 2K6 instead. It’s better. ” which is actually true. Even the graphics are better, and it came out several years ago.

If you’re looking for a fun, realistic baseball game, I’d reccomend buying either 2K6 or The Bigs. Or even one of the MLB Power Pros games, cause even though they aren’t very realistic, (no legs, noses, mouths, etc.

This game is great and I really enjoy it. I never get tired of going nine innings in this game. Some things I like about it: the commentary is good, I like the pitching once you get used to it, but the thing I like best is all the stats! The stats on each player, stadium, etc.

is so in depth I couldn’t believe they took the time to do it for each one. It’s like watching tv when they bring up their hitting hot spots and what pitches they like and where they hit/pitch it. Some things I don’t like: I haven’t used the mode where you play the baserunner but I probably should cause controlling multiple baseruners can be a pain, although I’m getting used to it.

One thing that’s happened multiple times is if I have 0 or 1 out and a fast runner on first I’ll steal a base to prevent a double play and get them into scoring position, of course. If I hit it to short, (what I was afraid of) the runner is still off second and they throw and tag him and then to first for the d.

p. anyways. I tried to make him go back to 2nd, but it hasn’t worked. The auto throw isn’t the best. But the trivia and fan letters are nice. I couldn’t get franchise to work on my xbox, just the season, but it’s no big deal, my xbox doesn’t work great anyways.

Ummm. basically this is a great game and it’s very addicting. I would suggest a lot of exhibition games to get used to everything and to look all around your options in season mode cause there’s plenty to do.

Also, the draft was easy. I got an all-star lineup and there were still great players in free agency. Most teams are right at salary cap, though, so can’t complain. I would also recommend using the right thumbstick rather than “a” to hit.

All I hit were grounders with “a”, even if I guessed where the pitch was going. The stick makes power and contact swings more realistic I guess and better to strategize what you want. It can be sensitive and swing when you don’t want, but overall it’s better I think.

Fielding is a little overdramatic. There’s too many diving stops and catches, and catches over the fence in foul ground. Not too many home run robs, but it gets frustrating when a lot of foul balls and hard liners turn into outs, but it makes it exciting, also.

The music on the game is definitely not my type, a lot of weird crap, but maybe everyone else will like it, and you can turn it off, so no big deal. The “Inside Edge” reports you can buy are great. I don’t always use everything on them, but it’s a sweet option.

Overall, great game and TONS of fun. I’ll be playing this one for years. All these little annoying things that I mentioned make you get into the game that much more and don’t detract from the gameplay.

Let me start by saying that I have been a huge fan of the 2K Sports games since they first appeared on the Sgea Dreamcast. MLB 2K8 boasts incredible visuals and sound, awesome options, and an unfortunately complicated play.

Visuals: Ever been to a real ballgame, or even seen a professional telecast on your television, that’s what MLB 2K8 looks like!!! The on-field players are crisp and clear in every respect, the spectators are all 3D and quite active – just like real game audiences.

The field, stadiums, and surrounding environment were spectacular sights indeed. The only issue I had with the visuals, and this is being rather nit-picky, is that several audience members within a small area would be perfoming the exact same moves, dressed the exact same way, at the same exact times.

A little more random-ness would have been nice here. Sound: The stadium PA, spectator, in-game sounds were right on. The game allows for you to customize the stadium music if you wish, but has some appropriate material on-hand as a default.

The one thing I thought should have been done better was that random localized words thrown into the audience sounds. For example. in Saint Louis, we are very familiar with the Mississippi River and the Arch (obviously).

These words, or ones like them, are inserted into each stadium’s audience tracks to make it feel more real or familiar. Anyone paying attention will notice this and most will find it annoying at best.

Options: All of the usual options are in this one. quick play, season, VIP, Home Run Derby, etc. Play the way you like, because 2K Sports thought of you when making this title. My main issue with the options may be 1) There may just be too many options – confusing many, or 2) Although good intentions were meant, batting and pitching have become steadily more difficult – making playing a simple game of baseball, as difficult as (or maybe more than), the real thing.

It took me quite a while to learn the pitching system, and I am still learning how to bat well enough to hit enough balls to register RBI’s. Part of the issue is me – I got used to the 2K5 version (not compatible to the XBOX 360 which I now own), and part of it is 2K Sports for over-tinkering with the system.

One last note, there is what is called the “classic” play style option. This is supposed to allow those used to the older system to continue playing in the style to which they are accustomed – not exactly.

I cannot bat the same way I did for the 2K5 version. Yes, the one-button control is there, but I am luck to hit past the infield – a problem not encountere in the 2K5 version. So, if you liked the old batting system, you are about to get the shcok of your life.

Enough said about that. In all, MLB 2K8 is a solid game with a few minor glitches that prevent a gamer from truly enjoying the simplistic game of baseball. And 2K Sports owns the exclusive rights to the MLB license until 2012.

If you can get past the negative issues, then MLB 2K8 is a solid and well-rounded game. ***Ratings (on scale of 10, 10 being best)*** Graphics: 9. 5 Sound: 9. 5 Gameplay: 7. 5 Overall: 8. 8 (yes, an average of the above scores).

You havent lived until youve played MLB Nicktoons baseball. After playing this wonderfully crafted masterpiece I have been able to find the meaning of life. I was a kid and now am a full grown man based off my experiences with this game.

Based off that, I would warn you this may jump start puberty but will be worth every moment.

It is a perfect game for what I wanted. I needed a game that wasn’t too difficult that would keep my 4 & 6 year-old sons entertained. It did exactly that. They love it. It is easy enough for them to play without getting frustrated.

Plus they love the fact that they can play with their favorite cartoon characters.

Though the concept is a great fun way to involve the whole family, the controls are mediocre at best for the Wii. The graphics look fuzzy as if the resolution is low. The game is still fun, and not that difficult to pickup.

My kids love the game but I found it short and somewhat repetitive since there was not a lot to choose from as far as baseball fields and types of games. I hope it is a little better on the Kinect.

This Mom LOVES LOVES LOVES this game. Not because i play it but because my Husband and Son have found a game they enjoy at the same time playing together. Even better- it is not filled with those terrible harsh sounds that make you nervous after hearing them for 15 minutes.

It is a calm game with all the punch of excitement for the game players-you dont feel like you are listening to the beep and music that last in your ears all night long. They love this game because you learn skills and you can find hidden tricks along the way to improve your score.

My Son gets a kick out of stomping his Dad because he found a new way to send a power pitch. This game has been a total hit at our home We have many of the games but this is a two thumbs up after many plays! Never boring!Great for gifts because it works for skilled to novice.

Great game. This was purchased for our special needs son. He had the 2008 & wanted something new. This fit the bill.

The Big’s is the first official MLB (major league baseball) title for the Nintendo Wii. It was released in the summer of 2007. I am a huge fan of Wii Sports! I spend at least 15 minutes a day doing batting practice on this game.

When I saw that MLB was putting out a Wii baseball game I was excited! I was gambling that MLB would not put their title on a sub-par game. I was a bit surprised at the game when it came out. You get the option of pitching, fielding (you cannot do this in Wii Sports) and of course hitting.

You also have the ability to actually field the ball, run the bases (pump the remote and steer with the nunchuk), and try to pick people off on the bases. All these options, surely the game cannot be bad! I was wrong.

🙁 The “tutorial” mode was really hard. First up was pitching. You have many different types of pitches to choose from. However, you have to have your remote and nunchuk together at all times. Then you press the “z” button on the ‘chuk, twist the remote certain way’s, and oh ya do a throwing motion.

Nothing like trying to master 3-5 different things to kill the idea of a game. 😛 Batting was a bit easier to do. However, having the stupid ‘chuk tied to the bat made it feel crappy and hard. I have spent hours doing a full batter’s swing on Wii sports and now I’m forced to to little wrist flick’s to do a motion.

😛 🙁 Very bad form. Running was fun, fielding was difficult to get the hang of, and overall the game felt clunky to play. I decided to have some friends over and we all tried the homerun hitting contest.

You get to pick your team (Any National or American League team!) and then your player for the contest. Again it was tough to do because of the nunchuk. We eventually stopped playing and put back in Wii Sports to prove who was king of the homerun derby.

I was happy with a couple of things, frustrated by others, and surprised about one thing: Happy: Very current team lineups! Ability to pick your player on the team. Fielding ability. Frustrated: PITCHING! 🙁 Fielding Hitting (Wii Sports trained me well I guess) Surprised: Current Rock and Roll music during the homerun hitting derby! I just purchased this game and at first really did not like it. Batting was different from Wii sports, fielding seemed difficult, and it seemed like the computer just crushed me when I pitched to them.

However, after going through the tutorial and playing a ton with a couple friends we decided this is quite possibly one of the best baseball games we have ever played. Hitting: Once you figure out the “touch” with the nunchuck, hitting is excellent.

With a good contact hitter (eg: Ichiro, GO M’S!!!) and a standard swing, once you get your timing down you can hit it to any part of the field. Just aim a direction with the nunchuck and swing at the right time and it should work.

Pointing upwards with it results in a fly ball while pointing down with the nunchuck will cause grouders. Hold A and point upwards to swing for the fences. Pitching: With pitching, there are 9 total pitches, and each pitcher has a selection of 2-4 of them, depending on their real-life arsenal of pitches, and their relative skill with them.

To pitch you hold down the button for the pitch you want and swing/twist the remote the direction required for the pitch. Releasing the pitch it the “white zone” of the pitch meter (it is pretty much like the swing meter for most golf games) will result in a perfect pitch that has more speed or break, depending on the pitch.

Releasing too soon or too late will result in the pitch location showing on the batter’s hitting box, making it easy for them to see if its a ball or strike and where it is going to be in the strike zone.

It seems unweildy a bit at first, but once again, when you get your timing down it is fluid and fun. Plus, every time you hit a particular pitch off of someone, say their curveball, that pitch will lose stamina.

If you get the pitch’s stamina down to zero, then that pitcher no longer can throw that pitch. Another thing that is awesome is pitches don’t lose stamina unless they are being hit, so if your pitcher has been lights out for 7 innings, odds are most of his pitches still have plenty of stamina in them and you have a good chance to go for a complete game.

Fielding: Fielding is the hardest part of the game to get used to. Drumming the remote while directing your fielder makes him run faster in any direction. Pushing the d-pad on the remote or holding A and flicking a direction can throw the ball to a base.

I prefer the d-pad method, but I like that it has an option. When you don’t have the ball, holding A and flicking in a direction can cause a dive (left, right, or down for forwards) or if you flick upwards your guy will jump up for a ball.

It takes a lot of practice to get used to, but once you rob someone of a game winning home run, it is completely worth it. Other: Another addition to the game is the Big Play meter. Build up 10000 points from hitting, pitching, and defense, and your team gets a “big play” while hitting or pitching.

When hitting, it results in Power Mode where any contact is a homerun if you have the timing down. In pitching, it results in Big Heat, where all the pitches get full stamina and power, and any strikes you throw that at bat will still your opponents points from their big play meter.

All in all a great game, full rosters, create-a-character, and fun, realistic gameplay where the over-the-top elements just add to the game. Wait until your first showdown with a catcher at the plate and see if you’re not having fun.

This is definately a good game with the right intentions but some poor execution. Once you get the hang of the pitching controls it is quite fun. same for batting. Where the game falls short is in its feilding controls.

I read about this prior to buying the game and must confirm that those reports are true. When feilding, 9/10 times the player who feilded the ball will not throw to the base you intend. In games like Mario Super Sluggers, all one has to do is simply point the Wii remote to the direction of the intended base.

In this game, the same rules apply except you must press A to throw. This would be fine if The Bigs feilding wasn’t so slow and clunky. You point to 1st and it throws to 3rd or home most of the time.

very frustrating. If it wasn’t for the batting and pitching I would not recommend this game. Another downside to the game is that there is no season mode. Instead, there is a career mode where you create and customize your own rookie and are taken through a series or games and other challenges.

It’s not bad. the customization options could be a little more robust. All in all, I’d say this game ranks from average to good.

Gameplay can be simple or complex. Been playing with my now 11 year old since she was 6; we just keep adjusting to make it challenging and fair in both 1p and 2p modes. The story mode has fun puzzles that unlock characters and ballparks.

We’ve been playing for years and have not found any bugs. If you want realism, look elsewhere, but it’s a fun game and has taught my kids a lot about *real* baseball. This game, MarioKart, and Wii Resort are by far the most re-played games in our home.

Very pleased with this purchase! Had this game awhile ago but lost it. Im really glad I found this great copy reasonable prices too! The CD came in excellent condition and gameplay is great!

When I got the game, I was excited to play it. However when I put it in my wii, it didn’t work at all. It had a ring to it which makes it unplayable. I was told that they check every game for stuff like this, but how in the heck did they miss that? The reason why I’m rating 2 stars instead of 1 is that they went out of their way to chat with me about it, however I would’ve rated 3 or higher stars if they gave me a replacement.

Mario Sports Mix was one of my favorite games I used to play, I never owned it. I used to rent it at the video store every weekend when I would stay with my grandma. I haven’t touched my Wii as of lately, until I came across DKOldies and their amazing video game selection, especially Wii games.

Thinking on the fun times I had playing Mario Sports Mix, I decided to pick up a copy here. It was awesome having the option to get the original case and manual. The game was packaged gently and arrived fast.

The game case and disc looked brand new and the game plays great. I would definitely recommend purchasing here. So glad to reminisce on some great memories!.

A fun game! I Bought this game about years ago when I was a kid, and I absolutely enjoyed it! Ended up selling it later with my Wii. Purchased it again a few years later and I find it enjoyable. I have never been a huge fan of sports but I still find the game fun.

I hop on it every now and then to play a few games and It is quite enjoyable! This could be a good party game. Only flaw is that the game can feel a little bit lacking and limited. But all in all, I would say that this is a good purchase.

Here are short individual reviews on the four sports in the order that I enjoyed them. Hockey – Where is the goalie? The computer controlled goalie is not good at all. The first time I played this game I scored 4 goals in my first 4 shots.

Also, what is with the train that randomly crashes through the center of the goal. Unnecesary and annoying I say. The worst part is that there is no fighting. In other words it is simply another version of Super Mario Strikers, but nowhere as good and on ice.

Sidenote: Why is the puck a coin? Dodgeball – It is way easier to catch the ball than to actually try dodging it. 3 players on each team have circular health bars and by throwing the ball with a shake of the Wiimote, you have to hope it hits someone on the other team.

You can pick and choose who you want to aim at. Catching the ball whether straight up or off a deflection will prevent damage. Unique special moves add to the gimmick of this game. There are three problems I see with this game.

The first is that you are able pass it to a character on the opponents sidelines or backline to get a better shot. Also, sometimes a player will cross the middle line when making a throw. What is up with that? The worst is the excessively long shotclock that a player gets to throw the ball.

They can run out the clock for an easy win. Whoever has more players standing at the end wins. If there is an equal amount it will come to a sudden death. Volleyball – Not too much fun to be had here.

Basically there can be 2 or 3 players on each team and you serve return or block balls. It seems hard to set up a shot for a nice spike. The returns can knock a player off balance and you will be forced to simply have it free fall back.

Also, all games are played to 15 points (win by 2) as opposed to the standard 25. Again, there are unique special moves for each player to add the gimmick of the game. I do like that you can block shots too.

The biggest complaint I have about the game is that the ball never really goes out of bounds which is unrealistic. If you are a hardcore volleyball fan like myself you will enjoy it for what it is: a really basic volleyball game for the Wii.

Basketball – This game deserves the lowest rating of all four minigames. The constant goaltending breaks the game when you are playing someone competent in multiplayer. The only way to get around the goaltending is to shoot full court shots and unlike NBA Jam, they don’t go in when you are losing.

Forget about the 3 pointer, this is just a dunk fest. If you are going to score, you will have to A) Use a good item. B) Use a special move once your power meter fills up (and even this is not guaranteed to work).

C) Get lucky on a fastbreak. D) Catch your teammate offguard with an alleyoop. Heres some sports that could have made Mario Sports Mix a good game: American football Boxing Tennis Swimming Soccer Mixed Martial Arts Parkour Was this just a halfhearted attempt to finally cover every sport with Mario and company?.

Great selection of teams and diverse characters. My 6 year old grandson love football and play this game all day.

This was purchased for my 6 yr old nephew and he loves it. It is so much easier for him to play than games like Madden. He is a sports fanatic and loves to play all the sport video games but he has a little trouble navigating them.

This is a great started series for the young kiddos! The price was awesome too. much better than the $59. 99 price tag that Madden has!.

My little boy plays this game almost every single day. Easy to play and helps him understand the game. He loves playing football and this gives him the extra info that he likes to hear from his coach at practice time.

My granddaughter loves the volleyball game as she is a league volleyball player.

I bought this game for my grandson. He loves sports and plays his Wii video game system a lot. I so it was an easy choice. A week after his birthday, he called me up and thanked me for the game. His mother tells me its all he plays.

The price is very good for something that provides a lot of entertainment. I recommend this as a great christmas gift.

Looks good, bought it used has a few light marks can’t really call them scratches. Have 2k8 and me and my daughter have been playing that but is just getting to old. Wanted to get the newest I could find for cheap but after some research this seemed like the best bet.

Graphics look good probably not 2017 good but a lot better than 2008. Haven’t had time to really get into it yet but I like that it has a training option for everything.

2k11 isn’t too bad. Some of the animations are weird and ball/strikes can be a bit random on the corners and edges of the zone. Clear balls= strikes and vice versa at times. But I guess that happens in real life as well.

Decent game overall, I’ve owned it for a day and put 3 hours into it already.

If your gaming is into sports then this game is a must buy. Have many freedoms throughout gameplay, hitting and pitching is accurate. Player fatigue is key and managing a team is a must. This game makes you feel you are a manager of a team.

This is all for franchise mode, but there are many different modes. Pick up the game will not be a dissapointment. Ps first baseball game ive played.

I purchased these game(s) as a birthday gift for my grandson. I wanted something age appropriate; he is only 10 years old. He loves the games and can play without much difficulty.

Bought it for the grand kids. It can be used to keep them busy. It also gets them up and moving. We use it on our raining days when the kids can not get out to play. It is not as good as the game on Wii sports but they like it.
