12 Best Will Ferrell Snl (2022 Updated)

I ordered “A Night At the Roxbury” DVD as a gift for my granddaughter. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is that I was told that my selection had arrived on December 8 in an email I received when in actuality it didn’t arrive until December 11.

This is a film she specifically requested either for Christmas or her birthday at the end of the month. I am sure she will get hours of enjoyment watching it.

I collect drummers, and while this technically isn’t a drummer, the more cowbell guy was a must for the collection. hey, it’s percussion. so it’s close enough. It’s a fun pop with the belly, and the glasses are well done too.

The item(s) should ALWAYS be checked thoroughly & packaged properly to insure perfect transaction. It saves lots of money in the long run to get everything PROPERLY the very 1st time! Even this one was damaged! We are ALL beyond over this LACK OF CARE.

“The Other Guys” is the latest collaboration of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, who created other recent comedy classics such as Talledega Nights and Anchorman. This movie has a great combination of insider police humor and current hot button issues in New York City, namely white collar crime.

It crosses a few genres, equal parts buddy cop movie, with a comedic take on action flicks, as well as investigations of corporate corruption. It is in the same vein as Kevin Smith’s “Copout” which was also released in 2010 and follows the exploits of eccentric cops battling crime in New York.

McKay directed and cowrote this movie, which really has some solid and intricate writing, which is counterbalanced by the antics of Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg’s characters, Terry Hoight and Allan Gamble.

The opening scene is an obvious ribbing of cliche driven cop action flicks, played to perfection by the team of Samuel L. Jackson and The Rock, whose fate shows a touch of reality and provides a counterpoint to the duo of Ferrell and Wahlberg, whose identity is created as being known only for their mediocrity and incompetence, hence they are “the other guys.

” Ferrell is an accountant desk cop, who is goaded into discharging his weapon in a “desk pop” in order to fit in with his coworkers. Even though he seems like the “office geek,” his development throughout the movie shows a hilariously dark past and an instant magnestism with women, which baffles Wahlberg’s character, dubbed the “Yankee Clipper,” an action hungry self proclaimed “peacock”, who is in the doghouse for accidentaly shooting a baseball player while on a ballpark security detail.

They are relagated to being the butt of every joke from their fellow officers, yet when they stumble upon the malfeasance of a multi national coroporation, the odd couple take on the treachery of Wall Street’s dark side.

Given that this movie was filmed in 2009, just a year after the stock market crash and during the bailout controversy, McKay proves to be as socially conscious as he is hilarious. There is quite a cast in this movie, aside from the great preformance of Ferrell and Wahlberg.

Eva Mendes plays Ferrell’s wife, who dumbfounds Wahlberg as to how Ferrell could marry a woman of her stature. Michael Keaton is the duo’s captain, who trys to be lenient despite their bumbling, as he works a demeaning side job at Bed, Bath and Beyond to finance his son’s NYU education, where he allegedly “explores his bi-sexuality and DJing skills.

” Rob Riggle, of Daily show fame (as well as the tazer cop in “The Hangover”) teams up with Daymon Wayans to replace the recently fallen Jackson and Rock as the top dogs, who become the new self promoting glory hounds of the NYC media.

Steve Coogan plays Ershon, the bunko businessman who’s scams range from Nigeria to Chechnya, with a penchant for bribing with pairs of tickets to the Jersey Boys and Mama Mia and Ray Stevenson rounds out the cast as the neo-conservative security expert who plays the foil to the heroic other guys.

The undercover informant at the end also hints at a new case “the other guys” have a lead on; a sequel is likely in the offing.

I bought this movie to have part of my tangible collection but primarily have the on the go digital copy. The digital copy expired back over a decade ago and wasn’t even the unrated copy which I wanted to begin with.

Very disappointed and a waste of money.

Bought this partially because the description (at the time) and the product image shows a digital copy included with the blu-ray. This isn’t the case. My copy came with a sticker over it stating the digital copy had expired.

That’s a bit silly to me. Research uncovered that Sony apparently doesn’t honor codes that have “expired” so you’re on your own if you want the digital copy. I did so I used the Disc-to-Digital option on VUDU and got what I needed for an extra $2.

In the end it isn’t a huge deal, just a bit annoying.

I have been filling in my Blu-Ray collection with movies I realized I did not own. Some I realize were better in the fantasy of my memory than in reality. This held up well to the initial reaction when it first came out.

The story is clever and well scripted and the right balance of child-like innocence and grown-up understanding. It is interesting to watch an early effort by this director that has gone on to fill in a varied resume of films from special effect laden outings (Ironman) to simply low key gems (Chef).

You can see the use of early special effects and stop-motion with clever scaling of elves to full size humans and animated storybook characters. This is one of the better films that matched Will Ferrell’s talents and it was a pleasure to see the vintage Bob Newhart comic sense of timing when he seldom was on the big screen.

The film is dripping with charm throughout from the very first credits to the decorations created by Elf. Great family entertainment that may not make a parent or grandparent cringe if you appreciated films like those created by National Lampoon and others.

My Christmas tradition has been created with the purchase of this “classic”! Will pull this one off the shelf from here on out to welcome in the holidays. Such a great movie for all ages! Will Ferrell does a bang up job as the Elf looking for love in the big city, finding more than he bargained for.

In the end, you will fall in your own love with this movie!.

This film is a classic, so it was a bit of a crime that it was not yet part of my library. I actually had to track a copy down in an adjacent town, but it was soooo woth it. The A/V quality alone just made the movie all the more enjoyable.

It now takes it;s place next to both “A Christmas Story,” and “Christmas Vacation” on my shelf, and is an annual tradition.

I thought this movie was excellent. It was funny and had an ingenious plot; I think this movie would be great for everyone. I especially like the plot twist towards the end. Lots of times I feel many cartoon movies lack originality and feel “rushed,” but as I watched Megamind, I felt like the makers spent more time on it and made it original and a movie you want to watch more than just once.

Yes! Our old copy of this had been played out. Extremely happy to buy the replacement one for only a few dollars. If you haven’t seen this movie I highly suggest you do. All star cast, lots of quirky lines and laughs.

This movie is the bomb! Bought it for my kids but I think it is hilarious! Great movie! Megamind is so funny!

but it’s still a good movie. I’ll admit that while it’s far fetched to expect non-speaking, no-dimensional characters from an (albeit popular) SNL sketch to support an entire movie for 90 minutes, you gotta give the makers credit for giving them a lot of further character development for said movie.

Before the movie, we didn’t no how they normally talked, their ethnicity, background, means, intelligence, etc. , yet they became fleshed out for this movie, and everyone did a decent job making it. I always felt this movie was very under-rated, and if you forget ablut the sketch history and view it as a one-off, then it’s really no worse than other popular movies of the day that had a similar sensibility.

I still love this movie!.

I love this movie. The Budabi brothers are hilarious hahaha. Had to buy it for my collection. The music is on point and with my surround sound it sounds like I’m at the club with them. Good stuff. If I could somehow edit the movie to have all the music play continuously that would be on replay all day.

Such a fun movie and one of the best SNL to movie adaptations ever! The audio is excellent with lots of great dance tunes, and the video transfer is great, too. You should definitely pick this up!

SOlid remake. Almost 20 years later a great movie to rewatch. Classic characters and a story line they can’t come close to these days.

What a great classic this is! I found it in the 5. 99 bin, only having owned the DVD previously, this will last me until they release a 4K upgrade. If you love raunchy comedies, it doesn’t get much funnier than this gem from 2003.

Will Ferrell is at his best! 10/10.

Not a great movie. Too much foul language and poor morals throughout. Would not recommend this for my friends especially if they have kids.

I thought this would be a good family movie for Father’s Day but I had to stop watching it with my 11 year old daughter in the room. There are really funny moments and Will Farrell is the best but I would not recommend this movie for the kiddos to watch despite the PG 13 rating.

At one point there is a scene where they go to the fertility doctor and although no nudity is shown there is a lot of reference to the guys private areas. There is a lot of cursing, even from the children in the movie.

In the end I wish I never bought this movie. It was a waste of money since I do not see us watching this one again.

Of all of Will Ferrell’s movies – this was one of them. Nothing was overly impressive (hilarious) in this movie. But on the whole it was humorous just not a comedy classic. My expectations were high with a decent comedy actor (as in Ted) and a comedic genius (as in Talladega Nights or Old School) in this movie.

And it was just a decent movie. Worth watching. Worth purchasing. The cameo by John Cena at the end was a nice touch.

I bought it to watch during down time between Christmas and New Years, so have not watched yet. Gave five stars because everything my friend says has be believing I’m going to enjoy it. She also thought the second one was even funnier so I will buy that one on dvd also later.

What really amazed me with this order was ordering on line one day, and receiving it the very next day. Small town Mn, Amazon has nothing on Target. Good job Target.

Although this movie is far from the apex of Will Ferrell’s funniest films, it’s still quite enjoyable, and it made me laugh out loud on several occasions. But be warned- this movie is extremely over the top when it comes to lewd humor.

Do NOT let your young children watch this movie, or you WILL be embarrassed! For those adults who can handle such humor, strap yourselves in for a foul-mouthed ride that will take you through the very slummiest aspects of the campaigning process.

Although the story is, of course, done in parody, and everything (including the raucous dialogue) is embellished and exaggerated upon, what remains true is that the CORE of the election process remains unchanged.

The mud slinging, the character assassination, and the win-at-any cost attitude are all put to examination, exposing the absurdities of each of these time honored American “traditions”. In the spirit of “The Daily Show”, this movie brings very important issues to light by putting them under the spotlight with a humorous approach.

And as any fan of “The Daily Show” knows. you oftentimes get a closer look at the issues on that “fake show” than on the “real ones”.

I don’t know why this isn’t given more love! I guess the political parties don’t have a sense of humor about themselves. It is extremely funny from start to finish. Hilarious antics and characters abound.

Will and Zach are great together and the laughs never stop. I highly recommend it.

Ridiculous. It’s a ridiculous movie in the best way possible. Galafanakis is a politician unlike any other. Farrell on the other hand is probably like more politicians out there. If you are a fan of either actors and their brand of comedy, you won’t be disappointed.

This movie is not greater than the sum of its parts. Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell are box office heavyweights in their own right and you would expect a movie combining both their comedic talents would make for a fantastic comedy.

Well, you’d be wrong. No Ferrell fan is going to mistake this for Anchorman, Stepbrothers, or Talladega Nights. Those movies that have an incredible re-watchability factor. This one does not.

Excellent funny movie. Funny and entertaining. Can’t go wrong with blu-ray. Grest deal as digital copy was included. Great for your collection. Kevin and Will are the funniest!

I’m sure most people assumed this would be awful after reading about it or watching trailers. I love Will Ferrell, and I do like Kevin Hart but he can be a bit much at times. That being said, I thought the chemistry between the two was super believable.

It definitely has alot of low brow humor and it is Kevin Hart being Kevin Hart, so if that isn’t your thing, avoid this. Otherwise, it’s super funny.

Dale Doback (Reilly) and Brennan Huff (Will Ferrell) are more than just deadbeat losers. They sponge off their parents and are way past failure to launch men-children. After a much needed change in there lives, the single parents of these two hit it off and soon find themselves starting off as a happily married couple with a grown son a piece.

As soon as they get together, the two start fighting and hating one another. They soon learn how much they have in common with one another. Their love for numb-chucks, girlie magazines, ninjas, COPS, John Stamos, and the comforts of years of no responsibility.

This wild run frenzy is never ending. I’ll just say that I’ve never seen anything quite so silly in my life. The Unrated version is absolutely gross, yet fantastically creative. This would make a grown man cry to see such foolishness.

I would like to give this film a better than average score, but after much thought, I can’t it any more than a 3/5 for mediocrity and stupidity. It’s worth a late night watch at least once just to make you aware of how ridiculous the movie producers are getting to come up with something new and different for people to watch.

I’ve been disappointed in most of Will Ferrell’s movies, but not all. I absolutely loved Elf, Talladega Nights had its moments but was just alright, and I was really disappointed in Semi-Pro. This is a perfect movie for Will.

Step Brothers teams him with John C. Reilly, who worked with him previously in Talladega Nights. Talladega had its ups and downs, but Step Brothers keeps you laughing throughout. Farrell and Reilly are at their adolescent best playing two forty year olds who still live at home with their single parent.

When the parents hook up and get married, Farrell and Reilly are then step brothers. They start out as rivals, but as the movie goes along, they end up liking each other. They realize they’re just like one another, a Mama’s boy and a Daddy’s boy.

There are laughs at every turn of this movie (unlike Semi-Pro), and I definitely recommend Step Brothers. It’s hilarious.

I love the movie! Simple as that! Funniest movie of 2008-2009 by far!!! Will Farrel is by far the best actor comedian in his time! He really knows how to improve his way through Hollywood! I would highly recommend everyone to at least see this movie if not buy it! I don’t buy a lot of movies.

Absolutely the best Christmas movie! It has every component of a great movie which makes it perfect for multiple viewers. It’s a clever story with perfect execution. The humor is top notch and you’ll find yourself quoting it all year long.

This is, hands down, my favorite Christmas movie of all time. Watched it again today. I laugh every time I see it. In my opinion it’s a timeless, silly, feel good film. Christmas isn’t Christmas without it.

I love Elf, it is my favourite Christmas movie! I watch this movie for Christmas every year, multiple times and never get bored of it! It is so funny and entertaining! I definitely would recommend this movie!.
