20 Best Wilson Golf Balls (2022 Updated)

I’ve done a lot of research and have tried many different kinds of golf balls. I am a mid-handicapper with a medium swing speed (92) and was looking for a ball with soft feel but high quality and spin (urethane).

Some super soft ionomer balls feel spongy and some tour type balls feel like rocks. The Wilson Duo Pro is the perfect sweet spot I was looking for. They feel and sound soft, but not marshmallow, and fly straight.

Distance is good, and amount of spin around the greens is nice. Price is decent, and they also don’t pick up dirt stains like other soft or matte covers can. They are my favorite ball and I hope Wilson keeps making them for a long time.

Being 6’7” with long arms I generate a lot of spin even with a smooth tempo. I’m a 9 handicap and my ego said to try a tour value ball (Q-Star tour) in efforts to try to pick up more ball speed with a 90-93 mph swing.

It lasted 4 holes before I knew Duo Soft + is the best ball for my game. The feel and precision gives me more confidence then using any other ball, and I’ve tested them all. I’m a medium length hitter, so I see no distance gains using a firmer compression ball so the feel is most important to my game.

Also got my first ace with it. We are now bound by blood.

My go to ball is Srixon XV. I tried this ball one day when going to a new course that was sure to be extra wet and narrow. The ball did fly quite far off the tee for me and was easy to track with the Optix Orange color.

If you are looking for a soft ball, this will most likely fit your needs. My preference is for a more firm feel. On shots to the green this ball would roll out much more than my regular ball. I’m sure I could adapt if I played it more.

The Wilson is soft, flies well and is easy to see. Just not for me. Two balls were plugged and not found. I gave the remaining 10 to someone in the parking lot at the course.

These balls originally caught my eye because of the color. My son is playing in a golf league at school and I wanted him to have balls that were easy to differentiate from others. These definitely fit that criteria.

But I also read several reviews and found that not only are these great for the color, but they are an excellent ball for younger children to hit. He loves them and I love that he isn’t losing balls left and right! A true win win!.

I bought the Wilson CHAOS for a beginner golfer because mainly they were inexpensive for 24 $17. 99! She’d have plenty of ammo not to worry about losing them. Anywho I decided that I would try one and I was very pleased to say the least! Performance and durability were excellent and it did have some check around the greens! The graphics on the ball are nice to! Out of ten considering price as well as Performance is give it 8 stars! I will use them again!.

I write this review to acknowledge the Chaos golf balls made the difference in my game. I truly believe that based upon my swing speed , club head speed and my age that it fits well with my game. I have tried every brand of golf balls from the most expensive to the lesser price brands and concluded that Chaos is working in my favor on the course.

I am going to recommend for anyone to take some to just try Chaos golf balls and make your own decision. Good luck with your game and hopefully you will be able to take a chance like I did and see what happens 🏌🏿‍♂️.

I am 63 with a 15 handicap and slower swing speed. If the wear pattern on your irons and wedges is a perfect golf ball sized circle in the middle of the club face, as my regular 3 handicap partner’s is, this isn’t the ball for you.

For the rest of us, it’ll be hard to find anything better. Side spin is never my friend, and backspin hurts me as often as it helps, so the ridiculously priced premium balls are a waste of money for me.

The Duo sounds great off the driver, penetrates well off my fairway metals, and has consistent distance off my irons with off center strikes, which happens as often as not. They do wear faster than other lower priced balls, but I rarely finish a round with the same ball I started with and, anyway, at this price who cares? Maybe if I can ever stop messing around fixing broken dogs and cats long enough to get my handicap below 10, I’ll switch balls, but, for now, the Duo Soft is just about perfect.

I have been playing the Wilson Duo Soft for years. I thought I would try the Wilson Professional ball to see if I liked it better than the Duo Soft. I played both on the course today to compare them.

I really like the bright yellow color of the Professional ball. The Professional is a very good ball but in my opinion, it doesn’t feel nearly as nice as the Duo Soft off the driver. I can’t produce enough spin to notice the difference of a 3 piece ball like the Professional around the greens.

As a slow swinging senior I’m so glad Wilson continues to produce such a great two piece ball as the Duo Soft. I only wish the Duo Optix yellow was brighter like the Professional yellow. It’s dull in comparison.

If you have a 112 mile per hour swing speed, and you need to shape your shots; the Wilson Staff Zip is probably not the ball for you. But if you have a swing speed between 85 and 95 miles per hour, play bump and run shots around the green and like to hit long, straight shots you should try the Wilson Staff Zip.

The unique dimple pattern minimizes side spin, and keeps the ball in the fairway. Try the Wilson Staff Zip. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Picked up the 2 dozen bundle at Walmart because I love the price… got to the course and instantly loved what I was hitting… I’m a 6. 5 handicap golfer and love how these fit to my game… love the bigger dimples and the soft touch they have around the greens!!! Even went out and bought a Wilson Staff hat and not ashamed of it!!! Definitely recommend the zips to any golfer that is looking for a great ball for a affordable price!!! P.

High handicapper here. I was playing Dou Soft which I really liked. Switched to these when the Duo Softs weren’t available. Great price, soft feel, good distance, and they stop on the greens. I just wish they could tell me to make better decisions on the course.

I’ll play these exclusively until something better comes along that suits my game.

I was behind a golfer who didn’t and found 3 brand new Chaos balls that fell out of his bag when his cart hit a rough spot. I teed one up and hit it about 15 yds. farther than my best drive. Then I hit my iron shot over the green! Got 2 dozen from Carl’s and have been playing them for about 3 weeks.

My buddies took notice of how far I was hitting them and asked if they could try one. I let them and now I’ve lost my advantage. All 3 ordered their own from Carl’s today. I had to order another 2 dozen also because now everyone wants to try one.

(I should get a commission, LOL).

I’ve used the Chaos in white for the last few years as practice balls. Per the other reviews, this ball is just about as long as any ball you would ever tee up, especially on firm ground. The Chaos’ overriding feature is the model’s trajectory that may be about as low as any ball that you would consider playing a round of golf with.

Good performance into the wind. The Chaos has decent spin into and around the greens. Good value.

I have tried a wide variety of golf balls. I am a 5 handicap. The Wilson Staff Zip suits my game better than most of the others. While there are others may be longer or more responsive around the greens, they are not as consistent for me.

I am not a PGA tour player so playing for run out is what I am accustomed to. Taking cost into consideration it is the best ball value out there, at least for me.

While hunting for my own ball today, (which I didn’t find) I came across a Wilson Staff Zip in perfect condition. The next Tee I gave it a try and was immensely surprised at my drive! It wasn’t long in some circles but a record for me at 291 yards and an ever so slight fade at the very end (which I needed anyway) I ended up getting a birdy on the hole.

Will be ordering up some today.

I ordered Seahawks for a gift, showed Seahawks on the two box covers. When the presents were opened, the gift receivers saw that the actual golf balls were for Eagles. I paid the extra price for Seahawks but did not get what I paid for.

Not happy. Since this was an out of town party they kept the gifts. I did not return. So FYI, don’t trust the box cover!.

Bought them as a gift but they looked very nice.

I have had a chance to play these Smartcores for several rounds and I can say I am impressed. I am mid-high handicap (can’t putt), swing speed is mid 90s and I am driving these around 265. I have been testing many balls in this compression and price range and these feel the best to me.

Iron play is true distance and these balls seem to hit and stick or slight backspin on well hit short irons. Putting is predictable as far as distance, I can not seem to read left and rights, personally.

I leave puts just left or right of the hole typically never long or short. Cover durability is excellent, hit cart paths and out of bunkers several times with very minimal wear. They do seem to pickup grass stains.

I played a couple holes using both this smartcore and prov1 with the same exact shots and I personally didn’t see deviations that made any difference. I’ll def play this ball for the foreseeable future.

Can’t beat the price and performance!.

If your not particular about your golf balls these are great. They give you distance but hold the green and feel soft around and on the green. I’ve been using them for years. We have tight golf course with water so inexpensive is good.

Unfortunately they’ve gone up a couple of dollars since last year but still a great deal.

I have had the good fortune to hit several golf balls from the same tee box. I hit 3 each of: Pentacle Gold Wilson Duo Wilson Elite Fifty Noodle+ Long and Soft Wilson Smart Core Wilson Titanium Titleist Velosity Titleiest ProV1 Precept Laddie I found that, in order of distance, these balls performed as follows (from shortest drive average to longest drive average) Precept Laddie Wilson Fifty Elite Pentacle Gold Wilson Duo Titleist ProV1 Titlesist Velosity Wilson Titanium Noodle+ Long and Soft 1st Place — Wilson Smart Core The Wilson Smart Core consistently carried 15-20 yards farther than the Wilson Titanium and about 10-15 yards farther than the Noodle+ Long and Soft.

I have tried this set-up multiple times (at least 10) and get the same results every time. If you want extreme distances on your drives, go with the Wilson Smart Core and practice some “Lag” drills to gain more velocity (club head speed) and you will be hitting them straighter and farther than you ever thought possible.

In December, my average drive was 160-170. After practice and more practice, plus practicing LAG drills, I have increased that drive average to 260 yards with my max drive being 274. Now, these Wilson Smart Core are harder to control within 20 yards of the green or so because they offer a little less control.

Putting is excellent. If you want Distance on your drive, and a straight drive, go with the Wilson Smart Core. They Even feel good off your irons, although you will have to iron down a club with these balls.

If you are willing to give up around 10 yards on the drive for more control/finesse around the green, go with the Noodle+ Long and Soft. You won’t have to club down as and will get more control around the green, but it’s really up to the golfer as to what they want around the green.

I have been able to adjust my 56 and 60 degree wedge swing for the Wilson Smart Core and if I’m within 5 yards of the green, I use my 7 iron or choke down on my 5 wood and use as a putter to “hop” the ball over the fringe.

Seems to work just fine. I went from shooting an average score of 101 a couple of months ago to shooting in the 80’s almost every day this past week. The Smart Core will give you the distance to reach greens in regulation.

I have Progressive Relapsing MS with balance issues and a loss of strength. My club speed was measured at Edwin Watts as an average of 85mph. I was matched with an RBZ fixed driver with a 9. 5 degree loft and an R Flex shaft.

I am hitting BOMBS now. As with any ball, if you can’t hit your irons. at least from your 7 iron down, you will hardly ever see your golf score drop. Practice with the irons people. Take time to find your tempo and learn to hit your irons and wedges.

Learn the art of the PUTT! A 1 or 2 putt is definitely better than a 2,3 or even 4 putt. Back to the balls. I carry two different balls in my bag. Wilson Smart Core and Noodle+ Long and Soft. Depending on the hole I’m playing determines which ball gets used that hole.

The USGA allows you to switch back and forth between balls, BUT ONLY BETWEEN HOLES, you start a hole with a ball, you finish with that same ball. If I know I will need some finesse around the green on a shorter Par 4 or a Par 3, I may use the Noodle+ Long and Soft.

On Long Par 4’s and Par 5’s, I use the Wilson Smart Core. Considering that there are only 4 Par 3 holes per course, and very few short par 4’s, the Wilson Smart Core gets the most play out of my bag.

After all, on an 18 hole course, you only hit your driver 14 times and those are the most important 14 shots in your golf game. It determines your tempo for the hole. Like I said, I carry the Noodle+ Long and Soft and the Wilson Smart Core in my bag.

Hit them long, straight and in the fairway with Wilson Smart Core. You won’t be sorry.

I recently came across this ball on the Wilson website, and decided to try a box, as I am always losing balls when I play (20+hdcp), even after playing for 15 years, as I hate shelling out $20+ for a dozen, lose a few, and then that dozen ends up with you buying another dozen.

Played yesterday at a course I’d been known to lose more than a few. Teed up the Tour Accuracy on the first hole, par 4-396 yd. and gave it a rip, if you can call an 80 swing speed a rip. Nice feel off the driver-Callaway Diablo Octane-reg.

shaft, made a nice click and down the fairway it went, further than my playing partners Srixon Soft Feel by about 10 yards. I’ll take it!! My next shot went right of the green about 10 yards, left me a blind chip-could see the top half of the flag, but not the green surface.

60 degree to the rescue. Up and over the mound between me and the green, and my partner said it hopped twice, checked up hard on the second hop, and rolled out for a 10 footer, which I missed a little right, and tapped for par.

Nice soft feel when putting , and after a few holes I could tell if I hit it good for distance when putting. Wasn’t any different than the Callaway Hex Diablo I’ve been playing-for which I was ball fitted.

Couldn’t believe the ball checked on the second hop !! Welll, the rest of the round went pretty much that way, with an occasional struggle hole, or two, or three. Thats why I’m still a twenty+ after all these years, but I gotta say I was really impressed with this ball and its nice manners around the green.

If your looking for distance, this is a great ball, even on mishits, I got some great distance, and felt good off of every club in the bag. The real kicker is I didn’t lose one ball, and with 15 in the box, $9.

96 online price a WalMart, what could be better. Going to play these until it gets cooler, and then I’ll play the box of Tour Accuracy Feels that I also bought. This is a great ball at an unbelievable price, and I’ll buy more if I lose these.

The main reason for my purchase was price, I found these balls to be a good product at a fair price compared to other tour balls. I have only used these balls once but have found them to have a fim feel.

You need to have a fast 80 mph plus swing to make the ball go a reasonably long way with good control around the greens. I much rather prefer a.

Used many golf balls but I have found these to be excellent in all aspects of golf. They may not max out in driving to a premium ball, but I find you get a better feel and response.

I’ve used the Wilson 500 for years, always a good feel off my clubs. I can tell when I make solid impact and have control over the ball. The vis yellow is nice on longer rough areas. love the quality and the price.

I am 54 years old and a high handicap, weekend golfer. My coworker golf partners make fun of my “cheap golf balls, but you know what, last week I had the best score of our foursome! And I usually out drive them.

And, when I hit out of bounds, I don’t hold up play searching for my expensive ball. You’ll hear comments how these balls don’t have the ” feel” around the green. But I see other guys “skulling, and making poor chip shots with their premium balls.

So, unless you are a low handicap golfer, that can truly take advantage of specialized premium golf balls, I highly recommend these.

Sincerely, let’s give credit where credit is due. I have been playing golf for over 35 years, I was a scratch player on my younger years, and now, because of work, life, etc. , I shot in the high 70s.

I have played with the so called “best balls and ProV1s” of the golf world over time. Now, I am over 50, and I am constantly testing clubs and balls to see where can I find some improvement in distance and consistency.

Well, about 6 weeks ago, I found an Ultra Wilson Distance ball in the rough, I picked it up, and out of curiosity I T the ball on the next hole. To my surprise, I liked the feeling off the driver’s face.

It didn’t feel hard or heavy like some Callaways. The ball felt light, soft and easy to hit with lots of distance. Then, I hit the green and the ball stopped as good as any $5 ball. I was really intrigue by this ball, so when I finished the round, I went to the practice green and hit a couple of chips.

It felt really good, and did what I want it. When I got home, I looked for the ball in the Wilson web-site, and there it was, a box of 15 balls for only $9. 99. What?!?! So I bought a box and tested these balls for over two weeks.

I have played 5 rounds with these balls, and I have to say, I really like them. As a matter of fact, last Thursday, I played a twilight round and I was the only golfer on the golf course late on the day, so I got to hit and compare every ball I had on the bag against the Ultras.

I hit about 10 balls; 2 ProV1s, 3 Callaway Supersoft, 2 Bridgestone RXS, and 3 Ultras. Well, all the hits where about the same distance 250y to 260y, with one Ultra tied with a ProV1 at about 259y. One thing I noticed is that the Ultra golf balls fly very straight, and after playing a few rounds, the balls didn’t show much tear and wear.

In conclusion, I am happy so far with this balls, and for. 66 cents per ball, these balls will do the trick for any mid to high handicap player. They feel great, they fly straight, they stop on the greens and have plenty of distance.

I feel comfortable with these balls, I will continue playing them through the winter and see how they hold in the cold weather. I hope Wilson don’t discontinue these balls, and if possible continue to improve them.

My wife gave me a box of these. Thought what the heck I would try them. After 15 rounds or so, I am sold ! Very solid ball. Distance is great. I can get it to stop on the green. Average player isn’t going to be able to tell the difference between this ball and a pro V (exception being the price ).

I average 205-210 with a 3 hybrid every time. The distance control is there ! Strongly recommend this product to someone looking for a great ball without a big price.

I needed a larger angled wedge for my Eufy 2K battery doorbell than the 15 degree one that was supplied with the doorbell. This item fitted the bill exactly and is ideal for the job. Used the same mounting holes than the supplied 15 degree one so easy to change.

I normally hit my drives around 220 on a decent day and my 7i 130. I bought a box of Wilson 50 Elite today and I honestly played the best round of golf I’ve ever played. I was hitting my drives 245 pr longer with a 272 as my longest.

I also hit my 7i 30 yards longer than normal. The ball flight is awesome as well, it soared through the air and went higher at apex than I normally hit. The ball spin with my wedges were great as well.

I kept all my balls on the green (when they landed there). Definitely my new ball for now on!.

The price was right! Cant wait until the snow melts and the fairways and greens dry up to try these balls. I’ve become a fan of the Wilson Staff line with prior purchases and this is a new lost cost entry.

I used to play the titleist pro v 1 exclusively and these Wilson Staff balls perform close at one third the cost. The ordering and shipping of these balls was fantastic, they were delivered within three days after placing the order.

I will always use Walmart for my golf ball needs from now on.

Received two sleeves of 50-Elites about 10 days ago from an outfit that wanted my opinion of them. I play 6x a week and had been playing Titleist and Callaways for years. Have played 8 rounds with the Elites.

Saw an immediate improvement in my game. This weekend shot the lowest rounds of my life. Just found my new favorite ball!.

I am a senior golfer with a higher handicap. I was told soft golf balls would get me more distance so I tried them. I actually saw some improvement in distance on my straight shots. Unfortunately I play in a league on a course with many water hazards and lost the balls inside of a two week period.

I will buy a second dozen to see if my increased distance on straight shots remains consistant. Overall I think the balls will improve my game if I can get my swing under control.

im a senior. my swing speed is appx mid to upper 80S. the ball feels great coming off the club. my average drive was in the 200 to 210 range. with this ball it has added between 15 to 25 yards on solid strikes.

Just started 9-hole play and am losing a lot of balls, so wanted to order a bunch. Personalization was a big attraction. In the process of ordering, I didn’t see that these are not the supersoft balls.

They do have a soft core so they may be just fine for me at my level of play. I do like the intense color as they are so much easier to see on the course.

I ordered 2 dozen golf balls with the words “Jesus loves you, John 3:16” on them. The words stand out perfectly. I figure since I’m going to lose most of them over time I may as well leave a little Christian message as well!.

First, let me preface this by saying that I am a high handicap golfer (30hcp). That being said, I’m what most would consider a mid-long hitter, especially for my handicap. Driver club head speed is roughly 105-110mph on a good swing.

I went out on a limb and threw these in my cart after my last purchase, and I’ve got to admit that they surprised even myself in performance. To date, I’ve had my longest drive with this ball just a few weeks ago.

On a flat, long par 5, my tee shot was 315 yards. That flat fairway means minimal rollout, no downward shot, and it still carried most of that distance. I’ve been averaging at least a couple drives per 9-hole round in that 300-315 distance too.

I was quite surprised considering the ball comes off the face clean and somewhat soft, but I wouldn’t describe is as spongy as your usual “soft” balls in the $20-$30 range. Instead, this ball is quite responsive without feeling like a rock, and probably one of the best feeling ones I’ve used so far in my limited, high hcap experience.

But the performance doesn’t stop there. On mid and long iron shots, the flight was mid-high, and I carried averages of about 175-190 yards with a 7 iron, and as far as 210-220 with flushed 5 and 4 irons.

Keep in mind, these were early season rounds where the temperatures hardly reached above 55°, and I’m still getting these carry distances. What surprised me even more was the wedge and greenside spin.

Again, at my handicap, I don’t expect much out of my wedges except a solid landing and release. However, with these balls I’ve had a few spin back hard and gotten some really good hop and stops, even out of bunkers.

Putting feels as clean as you’d expect out of a premium “tour” ball as well. Again, the balls feels solid on contact without feeling like a rock. Controlling pace and line have been great with these overall.

Overall, these balls greatly exceeded my expectations, especially at their price point and my handicap. The reason I tend to stay away from premium balls (even though I might want a higher compression ball with my swing speed) is that I have a hard time keeping them in play.

I don’t like losing $4-$5 anywhere from 3-6 times a round when I have to take a drop. Unfortunately, I’ve lost 3 sleeves in the last 10 or so 9-hole rounds I’ve played these, but I’ve been impressed enough that I’ll probably continue to buy them.

At only $10 per dozen higher than the typical value balls, these are in the perfect place for even single digit handicaps that want to save a few bucks on balls but still get the performance they expect out of other premium options.

I 100% recommend people giving these a try for anyone curious about this ball.

I have been an exclusive Wilson ball guy since the FG Tour over 10 years ago. Best kept secret in golf. I was intrigued to see if there seemed to be a difference in feel in terms of the unfinished cover and it seemed to be so.

The ball had great feel off the face, went into the green as it should when playing multi piece uerathane balls. Nice flight with the driver. I haven’t played the finished version of this ball but my current ball is what I was able to buy up when the Duo uerathane was discontinued.

I got 16 holes out of the ball before it was donated to the golf course but really liked it. I chose this over the Staff mostly because it is supposed to be a lower compression and the cost. Sadly, this will not make much headlines as it’s not a Pro V, or Penta.

I played a box of Triad balls, I now understand this ball very well. I have been an AVX customer for several years and was told to try Triad by the pro at Golf Galaxy. I typically draw/hook the ball, the Triad ball cut down on the amount of curvature for my driver and irons.

I would say they offer 95% of the distance of other premium balls, a small concession for the accuracy and short game benefits of Triad. They fly straighter, check very well and best of all, putt like nothing I have ever seen.

I am a very good putter, but this ball has taken my putting to a new level. Now that I have gotten accustomed to Triad, I confidently hole putts from everywhere. I played in a member guest two weeks ago and in one round had only 22 putts.

I didn’t miss anything inside of 15 feet. I highly recommend this ball if you are looking to lower your golf score, it is not the longest ball but it is the best ball to lower your score. My driver swing speed is 93 MPH, I’m 63 with an 8 Hdcp.

Heads Up! These are the prior model, Not as pictured. Pictured are the brand new model of Fifty Elites, what you get is the prior model. W/S shield is not on box or balls, it’s the old model that says Wilson Staff and Older style box.

That being said, still love the product as IT IS a fifty elite golf ball, great bargain ball, best ball at this price point. FYI, we ordered 3 boxes of pink.

A golf friend introduced me to the WS “Fifty”. I hit the ball twice then I gave it back to him. I went home and ordered a dozen online. Since then I have purchased two dozen more. I am not a long hitter but this ball is sneaky long.

Unless you hit cart paths often you will be playing the same exact ball day after day because it has a durable cover. The ball has a good feel off of the driver as well as the putter. One last thing you can buy this very good quality ball for about a third of the cost of the balls that the pro’s use on TV and it will work for you just as well.

By boyfriend uses only Wilson and one other pricy golf brand balls. When I checked his back and found he only had one sleeve of Wilson Ultra 500 Golf Balls I knew I found the perfect B-DAY gift, more balls.

I searched the web to see how I could get more bang for my buck and discovered that purchasing directly from Wilson. com was cheaper than the major online and brick and mortar retailers. I purchased four boxes and now know this is my go to place for further purchases as long as he continues to use Wilson Ultra 500 Golf Balls.

I was browsing at the golf store, my buddy was buying Pro V1s, which i usually play. but we were in Florida with a lot of water on the course. The fellow at the shop said the balls don’t fly anywhere as far as the titleists.

That compelled me to prove him wrong. I am a single digit player and have found the balls to be responsive and fly further. perhaps it is a coincidence, but the other day I shot my best round in years.

I will consume the other balls I have in my locker, but dollar for dollar, i will be buying these for friends, family and business associates. I think they too will find when they play these balls just how good it can be!.

Product I ordered was a neon green ball with GB Packers logo. Product I got in mail was White ball with Packers logo. Disappointed since it was a gift for my friend. Since I received product day before his birthday I could not return.

Being a Seahawks fan in the deep South is not easy. My wife very thoughtfully gave these as a Christmas gift and I love them. They are very bright so when I occasionally hit him in the woods they’re easy to get.

Bought these as a Christmas gift and they did not disappoint. Color and quality of Seahawks graphic is perfect. Now I’m jealous and need to order some for myself!
