20 Best Windows For Sunroom (2022 Updated)

I haven’t installed it yet, but it appears to be of good quality. Mine is not a replacement, but is a custom installation in a slightly curved wall that is not 1 1/2 inches thick. To aid in installation, I removed one of the end piano hinge screws and slid the glazing panel to be separate from the frame.

This will greatly aid my unique situation, allowing me to be on one side yet reach in and secure the frame in place with clamps as I apply filler to make it seat in their prescribed 1 1/2″ design. I think it will work!.

The window is well built with good connections on the screen. To insure sound, waterproof installation, do order the optional trim – I did not order this trim and that’s a mistake. Also, I had difficulty with the sheet metal screws supplied for the interior trim – the screws were made of soft metal and the points broke off quickly.

I did have success with some self-drilling screws.

The window came in great packaging. It’s a nice product. My only complaint is, there is no template for a new installation. I also understand that most customers are replacing and not installing as an original.

I read some other reviews, they might have been on Google, not sure. One person said the Energy Mode was annoying because the fan cycles on every 3 minutes to sense the temperature and if the temps are below your setting, which can be very common during the night, it turns off for another 3 minutes.

If it were higher temps, it turns on the compressor. I didn’t know this either but it would not have been a show-stopper for me. I bought it because I have an odd-sized window in an enclosed porch where the opening is 12″ H.

x 48″ W. This would drive me nuts in a bedroom. Or any other room I was going to be in for some time. On my porch where I use my office in there daily, I had to change the settings. I couldn’t understand why every 3 minutes it turns on for maybe a minute or so and then off without running the compressor.

So I changed it to cool and the fan just keeps running while the compressor turns on as the temps rise. Not too energy efficient now is it? With today’s technology and being made in Thailand where the wages are like a penny a day, I thought the price was a little high.

And for that price, I know they could have installed a temp gauge that turns the compressor, blower, etc. on and off just as easily. One last issue was the side Curtains that extend to the sides and attach to the window frame.

Fortunately, with a 48″ W window, I needed to modify my frame anyway. I have my doubts that I would have been able to stretch that thing to the 35 inches they said in the directions. I got about 33″, that was about all.

At 6000BTU/h it has been working very well. It has only been used for the last 5 days, so we’ll see.

Installed it about a week ago, and so far exceeds expectations. Can’t see much of an increase in our electrical usage. We run this more than the old much larger a/c it replaced, but this one is evidently much more efficient.

It cools our bedroom very well, though the bedroom is slightly larger than what the a/c is rated for. It even cools the adjoining living room fairly well. Like the power saver mode, even though it cuts off the compressor and fan when set temp is reached, it turns the fan back on every three minutes.

Instructions say it has to do this to sample a correct temperature reading. It goes off again after a few seconds if the compressor doesn’t have to come on again. Overall, satisfied with the purchase, usually LG products are a little higher than comparable brands, but this was actually one of the least expensive for this rated BTU’s.

Easy to install, not very heavy.

I love the remote because it makes it easy to turn on and off without having to get up multiple times. But switching modes with the remote is difficult to know which setting it’s being programed to. Sometimes I don’t want the energy saving mode on so I do have to get up to check which setting it’s on.

Some people complained about the unit going off and for us it does that when the energy saving setting is on. It only goes off when it’s cool enough in the house and I love that feature. It never randomly turns off but only when the room is cool enough! And you can program the temperature to your liking.

68-74 degree Fahrenheit has been our go to temperature range so far this spring and summer. (((( There was a time it did kept going off when in energy saving mode. like every 10seconds. A family member turned up the temperature to 80 degrees on a hot summer day not understanding how a/c units work.

They thought the higher the setting the cooler it will be. Well guess what ? On energy saving mode it kept shutting off b. c it recognized that it was a hot day / room and blowing warm air in a hot room would be wasting energy.

so it kept shutting off and we thought something was wrong with the a/c until I checked the temperature. We had a good laugh about it afterwards when I explained how temperature works)))) This unit is noisy though, have to turn up our tv double the volume making the tv bass boom throughout the house.

However, it does the job at keeping us cool during the humid hot months. And there’s also a dry setting to collect the moisture in the air which I thought was cool. No pun intended. Setting up required me to use my work gloves (which helped grip the unit without it slipping out my hands) it required two people for my household to set up.

the set up manual and instructions were easy to understand. But It was slightly difficult getting the screws to turn in the back , I’ma lefty so maybe that’s why but we made it work for us. This is the first time we didn’t have to use socks and old t-shirts to put in the window to close the gaps from the outside.

Lol. Overall, I do really like this unit just wish it was quieter and lighter.

I like the company, and really want to buy American made products as much as possible, but my last purchase of this window (bought 4 others with no issue), suggests some qc issues. No replacement window available from supplier, and could not offer replacement crank arm either.

Have found customer service to be great overall, but disappointed on this one. Brand new window in build that wont open properly. Bummed – want to buy American!.

Looks good. Fits well as a replacement. Only thing negative is the difficulty of only two ppl -one a wimp& other capable- installing it. Mission finally accomplished.

Replaced a slide window in a Flagstaff 21fbrs, matches perfectly. Window was easy to install and was packaged well. I think it was well priced and came with everything needed, including a new screen.

This AC/Heater works great and functions exactly as it is suppose to. I have mine in a bedroom on the second floor of an old 2 story house. The second floor is always colder in the winter and warmer in the summer than the main floor.

The electric heater works great. The heater is not meant to be the sole source of heat for any room or environment, it is meant to supplement only. For those who are disappointed that this is NOT a heat pump like you would find in a hotel room.

that is your fault for not doing your research. The AC works very well. If the bedroom door is open you can feel the cool air in the hallway before you ever get near the bedroom. My only issue is with the remote control.

It stopped working right after I got it. I checked the battery and it was fine. I re-seated the battery and it worked again but only temporarily. The battery will not stay firmly seated to maintain contact which makes the remote useless, if not for that I would give it 5 stars.

My husband and a friend put it in and my husband rewired for the 220. He cranked it on and works great. We haven’t used the heater yet however, I feel like it will work just fine. I’m impressed with the customer service and doing what they say they are going to do.

I just installed this window in my `76 Ford Van as a replacement for a very old (likely 1977 vintage) slider window with aluminum frame. I like this CR Laurence window because it literally was the same size as the slider installed in my van.

The construction of the new window is rock solid and the seals are nice and snug. The window action is snug which is what you want on a vehicle so there are no rattles. I really like the quality of the build – the outside of the window is about as close to flush as you can get for a flange mount window.

You can mount it with either side up for the sliding action so you can have the window opening with screen to the left or to the right – you’re choice! Lastly the screen was immaculately installed – absolutely perfectly tight with no tears or excess material hanging off the side.

Also, the glass is pre-tinted with a nice, medium tint that will match the tint of your vehicle easily. Just like a privacy tint, not too light but not too dark. That and the framing being black makes this window look amazing.

The other side of my van has a duplicate window but I had to prioritize and try this one out for the slider door. When I get time and some cash I’ll buy a second one to bolt onto the driver’s side of my van for sure!.

It was just what I wanted and works great. The screws were kind of soft and stripped the head easily. Luckily I had extra better quality screws

I ordered six windows and they arrived covered in a white sticky film that I had to scrub off. The screens fit awkwardly and the windows didn’t fully close. Additionally the website mentions the trim ring as optional, but there is no way to install the window without one.

I guess the optional part refers to people replacing windows that have an existing trim ring. This is not clear in the description. It took three emails to customer service for them to address my issues.

In the end they were unwilling to admit their description is unclear and confusing and withheld part of my refund. I would not recommend these windows to anyone. Will be looking at other sources for windows.

Window fit perfectly and you can not tell that it is not the original window. Only problem I had was I ordered a wider trim ring and did not receive it. I received the window the day before I was leaving on a trip so was unable to install before I left.

window was supposed to arrive the week prior but did not. I took window with me and installed while I was on vacation. That is when I found that the wider trim ring was not shipped. got on recpro website and it said I only had two days to report any issues.

By this time 5 days had already past so I had to use old trim ring of old window.

I think the quality of the product itself is great. The measurements for the rough opening were not accurate. I measured and cut a test hole in a scrap piece of wood and it was too small. I made the hole larger by 1/4 of an inch and made my cut in the side of the trailer.

The hole was still too small. I had to cut more out once I made the original cut which is nearly impossible to make a clean cut by just trimming off a small portion. They should really add an accurate cut out template with the window.

Very high quality product for the price! Will purchase more of these in the future! Keep up the great quality. . . A very satisfied customer!

The window looks good and is well made. It’s easy to open and close. It was a good price for a good window.

Everything fine except lock was broken piece fell behind window so it wouldn’t. close had to take slider out to remove brohen piece then it worked fine but wont lock need new lock really dont need it though!.

This is a great window for a garage or workshop. Well built but single pane so it is not insulated.

Velux has always made great products. No issues there. We did get a size that turned out to be too small once we opened up the attic, and we wanted to trade for a larger size. As it turned out the Skylights are not exchangeable due to “factory-installed blinds”.

Upon calling Velux itself I became aware that it is possible to order the blinds, which we wanted, uninstalled and just install them ourselves. It’s an easy install. In that case the skylights themselves would be returnable/exchangeable.

But SolarTown’s website does not offer that option at all. The blinds choices are either factory-installed or no-blinds at all. The no-return clause is included in the return-policy page, but no where does it say so in the product order page.

There are no explanations of the options whatsoever. It is SolarTown’s choice not to offer the non-factory-installed blinds option and then they’ve got you for no-returns or exchanges. I would highly recommend Velux products, but perhaps order them from a different vendor other than SolarTown.

Would be 5 stars but, Only negative was the seal that was stapled to the frame had two staples go through the seal so it flopped around. I double side taped it in place so when flipped to install the seal stayed in place.

Price compared to local building supply store was almost $300 less. I suspect their markup is very high. Good deal. Shipped fast and on time. Great quality and easy to install on my curb. Also must mention it was packed very well.

My shipper smashed the corner in their truck. Zero damage to skylight.

The flashing kit made installation easy, especially since I read the instructions and cut the wood before the installers got here. I even corrected them on the orientation of the square so it came out as drawn up.

What I have done is open it yet because the piece that attaches to the crank/handle has been lost after dumping the contents. I need to figure out how to get a replacement. Also, it hasn’t rained yet! But so far so good.

IšverstiShow in original languageI am mounting it as a “fire escape” for a room that doesn’t have any large windows. I haven’t mounted it yet but it is very well made. Large enough to the the job for a person under 200 lbs.

It will be close to the floor to avoid smoke in the corner of the room with direct access to the backyard. Perfect.

I bought 3 of these in 2012. I was told that the windows were guaranteed for life. 3 years ago, the screw holes in the window sashes that hold the crank arm to the sash started stripping. This year, the holes are completely stripped – the screws do not hold the operator to the sash anymore, so I can no longer open or close the windows with the crank, and have to uninstall the screen every time that I want to open or close the window by pushing and pulling on the sash.

Reached out to Home depot who told me that, IN CONTRAST to the marketed “Lifetime Warranty”, the manufacturer said that the warranty does not apply here because “there is no warranty on the sash”. Strongly recommend NOT buying this product.

Purchased the window on line. The dimensions listed are in inches (Imperial), but the window was actually in metric dimensions. The actual window size is 23″ X 35″, so the rough opening listed is incorrect.

The window also did not come with a finished jamb and sill. Otherwise, the packaging was good and the window quality is good.

We had a problem with a West-facing kitchen garden window having blinding sunlight that poured in at certain times of day. Wanted to diffuse light without putting up a window covering this gorgeous stained glass panel did the trick!.

Bought a casement window sash only to replace existing window. It was delivered in a very will protected box within a box. Installation instructions along with a YouTube Video made the task on installing the old hardware rather easy.
