20 Best Windshield Repair Kits (2022 Updated)

I had a small chip and a crack that was no more than 1cm in length. It was about 8 inches or 20 cm away from the edge of the windshield. I followed the procedure as recommended. It was left to cure in the direct sun for about 3 hours before removing the plastic film.

At that time I scraped the high spot level with the windshield so that the wiper did not catch the edge and peel the edge back. The crack is still visible. There is a white haze where I scraped off the excess dried resin above the chipped glass.

This I hope will disappear as the wiper hopefully polishes it out over time. I was hoping to not have any visible blemish and the windshield sealed so that the crack does not increase in size from the winter weather.

Let’s hope that the blemished area is at least sealed.

I bought this today when my windshield was hit by a large rock. It was a bullseye hit loose glass which I was able to pick out. After 30 minutes the hole was filled but the sun or a UV light is needed to cure it.

In moderate sun I would estimate 2-3 hrs. I actually had a second rock hit us on the way home after we repaired the first hit this caused two small chips which we could fill with the remaining kit components so you could definitely say it is reusable in the same day if you are not too generous with the liquid filler.

This kit uses syringes as opposed to the suction cups which is actually an advantage because this allows you to get closer to the edge if the crack is there.

This economical windshield repair kit saved me from having to replace my windshield immediately. It sufficiently filled in a one inch crater near the lower center of my windshield where the defroster hits hardest and where there is the greatest temperature fluctuation.

It is not pretty (which could be my application skills) but its clear and is holding. Very satisfied!.

In heavy rain I would get water seeping in from the top right of the windshield into my glove box and passenger carpet. It was always a hassle to drive in the rain since it would get those areas wet in the car.

But with the glass sealer I have not had any more problems with any water leaking inside. I put it on the top of the windshield is, where the rubber gasket is and it dried fairly quickly. Would recommend, just use masking tape and possibly gloves.

The stuff is a bit runny and sticky.

I purchased this as I had developed a rather irritating water feature in my Jeep. Everytime it rained I had a little pond in my cup holder a water filled overhead console and a soggy headlining. I read the reviews and took a chance.

I would urge anyone in a similar position to use this product. It was easy to apply, I made sure there was no dirt or loose rust etc and applied a fairly thick bead by lifting the edge of the window rubber.

The tube had plenty inside it to do all along the top of the windscreen and approx 6 inches down each side with some left over. To this day. No water ingress!!! Completely cured the problem. Definitely recommended.

I used this for electronic conformal coating that is exposed to water and snow. I didn’t have the usual product so tried this and it seems to work fine. It’s a little thicker than true conformal coating but that seems to give it a little safety margin where it doesn’t leak into some components that don’t need it like connectors.

I purchased the silicon sealant purposely to deal with a leak in my car boot were rain water was entering a small gap between the top edge of the rear light fitting meeting the corner lip profile of the car boot lid as it wasn’t designed well.

The sealant although designed mainly for creating a seal around the edges of the car window, was effective for covering small gaps. Although runny when applied, but with patience and care, a small gap is covered and since then I have managed to fix a leak to the boot of my car.

Because the sealant is silicon, it can be wiped off during application and can be removed in future if required to do so. You can also built the sealant in layers if required, but its effective first time round.

Overall, it has done the job well and because its clear it is not noticeable. Well recommended product. The product was also packaged well and delivered promtly.

Purchased a heated side mirror replacement glass for 2008-2012 INFINITI G37 and I applied the silicone to attach it on to the bracket. It’s been over a week and the mirror is still well secured. Silicone seems to be working great.

Windshield chips and spider cracks are a common among vehicle owners on the road in Alaska. This product is great to have on hand for to tackle chips before they spider and become cracks. Easy-to-follow instructions and everything complete in the kit makes this product an awesome value.

Chip repair can cost $50-60.

This product works great, just follow instructions. It came out as in the photos on the package if not better. It cures well under the curing film, but it will not cure without it. Great stuff

I did not have high expectations for these DIY windshield repair products. Based on web recommendations, decided to test this one. It worked very nicely-the 6 inch crack on my windshield is now invisible except for about 1/2 inch, and that was because I was in too much of a hurry.

This being winter in Michigan, I had to buy a $5 black-light from the local hardware store to cure the resin (sunlight or UV light is needed to cure the resin). Other than that, all necessary items are included in the kit.

I just wish Walmart would stock this on their shelves, instead of us having to special order through Walmart. com.

Worked as advertised. Does a great job but use it per directions and as soon as you can after damage. Clean very well. That includes the little glass shards/crytals in the chip as best you can. That is the only thing that makes my repair not totally invisible.

I should have done better cleaning out the tiny little glass shards. Looks great anyway and you would be hard pressed to find it. I can because I know where it is. Very happy for $10. 95!.

I had four chips on my windshield and bought this product wish to fix them all at once. It’s sufficient to fix four chips which is good but the result for stars is not satisfactory (still visible after repair).

Moreover, the stars started growing under sun and temp. change. For the bulleyes, I think this product is good enough. Easy to follow and repair.

This product is FABULOUS. I watched some You Tube Videos, was skeptical but for the price it was worth trying. I was shocked at how well this worked and how easy it was. I saw other brands but this was the only one that included everything down to the razor blade.

Before you spend money on laser repair, try this, it’s amazing!.

I used this product as directed to repair a small chip. During the curing phase of the application a 2″ crack formed where there was only a chip previously. The chip had been there for months without cracking.

It’s possible that the sun curing process caused the fill material to expand and crack the windshield. I wrote to the company about this but they did not respond.

I don’t know if I bought a defective product. The liquid resin didn’t even dry and harden during curing time. Followed step by step instructions, disappointed with the outcome.

Don’t waste your time going to an auto glass repair shop for a small crack. This cheap fix works. Saves you a ton of money.

followed the direction. pumping the resin back to fill the chip resulted in leaks. suggested to do it gently.

Just didn’t do the job. Maybe my bullseye wasn’t typical, but the imperfection is still very apparent. New windshield time.

I wanted a 2-pack, and have used them both. With this item, I got 2 for the price of 1, and my windshield looks great. Super value!

The direction were easy, the product performed as directed.

be sure to follow the directions exactly. i made a small blunder, but it still worked out. i did this in the winter in a friend’s semi heated garage around 50 degrees and was afraid it would not work.

be sure to save a bit of the resin for the last step, which requires a drop of resin on the small remaining ding and the application of the curing sheet. i have a small UV flashlight from a “cat urine finder kit” that i used to help cure the spot.

everything worked out ok. there was a very tiny circular spot when completed. much better than “before”. for the money, it was worth the time and effort to assure i could pass inspection. my inspection isn’t for another 9 months, but i am confident it will pass.

i had to do the fix in this colder weather because i didn’t want any dirt to get into the cracks, or have the cracks spread. next time i insure the car, i think i will add comprehensive insurance.

The product could not fix a small 1mm ding on my windshield. I made sure I was applying this in 70 degree weather and bright sunlight to allow the resin to set. The ding could be clearly seen when looked at in sunlight.

Also it did not help fix a slightly larger 2. 5mm bulls eye with 3 hairline cracks not larger than 2-4mm. I tried to save money on this product compared to a reputed brand like RainX. Product did not work for me hence I would not recommend.

I cant believe this worked. I had a nasty rock chip on my Jeep and I almost didnt even bother trying to fix it. It was 1/4 in in the center with star edges shooting out over an inch from the center. When I put the base of this kit on the windshield I could see cracks extending beyond it.

i really wish I had a before picture to share but it looked like someone shot my windshield with a BB gun. I decided to try this kit before I just replace the windshield. even though I knew it probably wouldnt work.

I followed the directions to the letter. if I was going to bother with this I wanted to give it the best opportunity for success. It worked!!! saved me a windshield replacement and unless you knew where the damage was you wouldnt find it.

More important than that, the crack is sealed up now and water wont get in and do more damage. I am going to order a couple kits to keep on hand. inexpensive and easy to use. If you have a chip or star give this stuff a try! Just follow the directions and get ready to be amazed!.

This windshield repair kit, though not perfect was worth the money. I had a small rock hit my windshield, it left a small spider type crack about 3/8″ wide. After the repair the crack was greatly diminished, after a second application it was hard to find.

I feel that the crack has much less chance of spreading after using this kit. Lots of money saved by doing this simple repair as opposed to replacing my windshield if I had let this crack spread. Crack is now so small it wouldn’t be seen during a vehicle inspection The only issue I had with this kit was doing a double application which is not a big problem, the kit gives you what you need for multiple uses.

I would buy again, it does the job.

This windshield repair kit was perfect for my small repairs. There’s enough for multiple repairs. I personally did 3 different windshields today, and have half the bottle left. It does a great job of quick fixing small chips and cracks.

When pressing on the inside of the glass to get all bubbles out, make sure to apple LIGHT pressure, as you could damage your windshield more. Best value for the money. Kit includes everything you need.

Instructions need to be proof read once over, in my opinion. But they’re still completely understand.

The front windshield of my new Ford-F150 was damaged while driving on the freeway. The damaged was larger than a diameter of a quarter and two auto glass companies stated the damage was too severe to repair.

I decided to try Glass Crack Repair Kit and was pleasantly surprised by the results. The damage was significantly reduced to a fraction of what it was. I view this as extraordinary due to the amount of damage I was attempting to repair.

This definitely did the trick for me and is a cheap fixed compared to going into an auto shop. Since i did this in the winter, i knew that the instructions couldn’t be followed exactly and did it over an extended period of time.

I completed the repair in an underground garage as it was raining outside and i didn’t want to wait until it had gotten bigger. As the recommendations state a shorter wait time (10 min, 20 min, and 30 min under sun), i had done it in a timeframe of 20 min, 30 min, and overnight to cure as i didn’t have the sun and my UV light wasn’t drying it.

Since it’s also colder than the recommended temperature, i did check it before removing the curing strip to see if it was dry (i had a bit of resin coming out and touched that). RESULT: Small chip left, but better than before!.

Tried on a small chip on my windshield applied it per the instructions on the sheet. Let it cure a little bit longer than recommended and when I peeled it off the resin came right with it. Didn’t fill the crack, didn’t cure.

Maybe the crack was too small for it to have cured properly. But I have seen this product work. My buddy had a rock fall from a dump truck and put a nice crack in his windshield pit this on the following day and you couldn’t even tell it was there.

Obviously knowing where the crack was and getting really close to it you could still see some tiny lines but just walking by you wouldn’t be able to tell.

Quality kit, nice heavy quality feel to the injector parts. Suction cups are nice and strong. Nice case to keep it in. Good stuff. I wish i could have had the option of either a battery/flashlight or 12v plug curing lamp, i probably would have gone with a flashlight type.

That’s not to say anything is wrong with the 12v lamp, it cures up really fast.

Only completed a 3 repairs so far, but I am very happy with this tool! Very easy to use and the kit keeps everything well organized. The UV lamp seems a bit flimsy, I worry about breaking it, but other than that I am very happy, thanks GT Tools :).

Had a cracked corner of the screen in my iPad. Was among the border of the screen. Put the repair fluid on and filled in the cracks. Made two applications and has worked great. I cannot speak of how clear it would be on the actual visual part of the screen but did a great job of clearing up and reinforcing the cracked corner.

Repair liquid was well packaged! I was so excited to receive this I applied it the moment it was delivered. It was so easy to do! I will definitely recommend it to anyone that has a pit crack in their windshield.

Going to try it on a house window next! I will purchase again!.

I’ve had the opportunity to use this product for 30+ years, and it has never let me down. How can I measure this? Well I have repaired thousands of cars and have only received about 5 warranty claims in all my years of repairing.

I’ve had the opportunity to buy different brands, but wouldn’t change this one for another one that would claim to be better or cheaper. 1000% happy with this product. 1000% recommended.

After calling in with some questions I ordered the MV resin. I’ve been searching for the perfect choice, and with GT, I’ve found it. The fills are crystal clear and legs seem to fill easier. Last repair was a nasty combination on a semi tractor.

It would have had 5 stars from me if the resin was more clear after final set. I tried to add 3 pictures from the same angle. One before start, second is after finishing the project based on manual instruction and third is after repeating the last stage but unfortunately I could not figure out how to! Sorry! I did some small modification in usage instructions for achieving better results as follows: 1) At least doubled the time for each waiting stage.

2) Used Alcohol 91% to clean the damaged area after picking all loose powdered glass and dried it out completely using duster air can. 3) I repeated the last stage one more time after precisely opening up the mid impact point and cleaning it again with same Alcohol and bone drying it with the same air can.

Do not use your air compressor since it has oil in the output air and that interferes with the resin bonding. Very pleased with final result (over 95%) as a DIY project.

Decent quality. The pedestal is smaller than expected. So is the piece of plastic sheet.
