20 Best Wine For Chocolate (2022 Updated)

Just completed bottling this and by all indications it will be great. Might have to do this one again. Too bad it only makes 3 gallons though.

The kit is easy due to directions and quality of ingredients. It is a phenomenal tasting port wine!!!!

I am super picky when it comes to red wines but this one is delicious. Doesn’t leave a bad after taste. Its smooth. Not many tannins. I would hope they keep this flavor around for a while. Bought second bottle already.

My bestfriend recommended it, glad she did.

Mmmm… shockingly good!!! I’m not shocked that Cupcake made a great red wine, but I’m shocked that I like it. I am normally a sweet red drinker. This one is sorta on the less sweet, slightly dry, but not bitter.

It is very rich.

This is such a perfect blend of flavors. It’s a lighter red and perfect for a cozy night in with a friend or alone while watching a movie. It’s a favorite of ours!

I got a bottle of this stuff at the dollar store because it seemed like such a horror show that I had to try it if only for the price. Things only got worse as I read the label and learned that it was not a chocolate liqueur as I originally suspected, but a mixture of chocolate liqueur and red wine.

I poured a glass over ice, leaving room for a mixer as if there were some way to save this disaster. The taste can only be described as artificial, the kind artificial flavor that only be identified if something or someone tells you what it is.

On top of that there is a metallic tang to it likely the wine, or at least what passes for it. Beyond that it has a creamy texture that hangs on your tongue like the oily film from cool whip or cheap coffee creamer.

Overall though from my experience with cheap pre-mixed alcoholic beverages this is far from the worst, at least this lacks the acidic harshness of so many others. And you could potentially mix this into a milkshake or some other rich dairy dessert to cover up it’s less desirable traits.

So overall I give it a 2 out 5 it’s drinkable, but it certainly isn’t easy to drink.

So this wine was a little gimicky to me at first. I didn’t think wine that tasted like chocolate would be good or you’d taste the alc way more than the chocolate but boy was I wrong. It has the most delicious Dutch chocolate flavor and then an aftertaste of delicious red wine.

It’s my new favorite wine!.

Love it, it was shared at the holiday’s by our neighbors and had to order it. It tastes more like a chocolate white Russian. Its rich and creamy. I also ordered the chocolate raspberry and chocolate whipped cream.

Cant wait to try those too.

I bought this wine because I’m a chocolate lover to the max! I was a bit put off by the flavor as it tasted a lot like the flavor of a Tootsie Roll, which I’m not a big fan of. However, I turned my bottle into mulled wine and it came out delicious! Recipe for mulled wine:1.

I’ve tried many chocolate red blends. For the most part, they all try a bit to hard or not enough. That said initially I was skeptical of the Chocolate Shop. Consider me an addict because I’m hooked! I’ve tempted many with her rich body pleasure and have NEVER gotten an, “it’s okay.

I actually am new to drinking wine it has a horrible taste i can’t get used to. Most I have tried are disgusting. I like very sweet. So far st. James blueberry/blackberry and tostii moscato d’asti. I am a chocolate lover so with all this keeping in mind is this really sweet and does it really taste like chocolate?? Is this similar to cabernet sauvignon??? If so don’t like.

I first heard of chocolate wine in the comics, Baby Blues, believe it or not. I had no idea there was such a thing. I Googled chocolate wine -top ten -and decided on Red Decadence. The fabulous flavor of the red wine and the pleasant aroma of dark chocolate told me I made the right choice! It is an amazing wine with multiple layers of flavor.

It is not heavy and is just a joy to drink. I am not a wine coniseur by any means. This is great wine!.

I used to buy Chocolate Shop Wine but something went awry with it recently and the last four bottles left a chemical taste at the finish of the tasting. So I decided to try this Red Decadence Chocolate Wine.

This is very similar with just a slightly less chocolate Undertone. It’s quite delicious after dinner. I think it would be lovely poured over vanilla bean ice cream. I typically don’t drink sweet wines but this one is so worth it.

This is my weakness. Chocolate and wine in one. A guls best friend. Its smooth and heavenly. Must be drank cold. I keep 2 bottles on my wine rack. When someone picks it off the rack they usually turn up their nose.

But once they taste it. they buy it. This is one wine you can’t go wrong with. A little goes a long way. It’s easy to drink the whole bottle.

Liked the flavor. Yes more like liquor then wine. However when the ‘conesuers’ show up with their snooty wine and a story, you can drink something without a story BUT tasted good

Here’s the thing, it tastes less like red wine more like a chocolate liquor, in my experience. If you’re a fan of chocolate, you won’t be disappointed. But it’s a flavor that is cut by a very strong alcohol flavor, something similar to maybe a with hot chocolate.

If you don’t like the flavor of alcohol, you may not want to try this.

This chocolate wine is made using orange wine but doesn’t taste like oranges, but rather less of a bite/bitterness than the “other” chocolate wines made with red wine. It’s very smooth! I know because I did a side-by-side tasting of the two.

Cocoa di Vine is a better value and taste for my palette.

This product is a “love it or hate it” type of product. I tried this by itself and was not a fan. I attempted to mix it into a few different kinds of drinks like a dessert martini but was not a fan of any versions that were attempted.

I will be sticking to classic chocolate martinis.

This is great on it’s own. But for a special desert try this: Put a couple of scoops if vanilla ice cream in a tall glass the pour the Chocovine over it. Add a little cool whip, a long spoon and a straw and you have a quick treat.

We received this for a Christmas gift and we loved it! Perfect as a dessert wine or even for a little mid afternoon ‘dose’ of chocolate! Delicious!

I brought this originally Christmas 2019 at a Christmas market in my local town centre and not had any since. I like it I must say it’s more liqueur than wine it’s quiet thick like a damson wine, which is fine as I’m not usually a wine drinker.

I think it’s a little expensive but as it’s not widely available was prepared to pay I’ve not tried mixing it yet but think that’s worth a go just not really sure what I would mix it with yet.

Wow. Absolutely gorgeous. I love the full on dark chocolate aroma and the deep cherry tones of this wine. Don’t be fooled in to pouring yourself a regular wine glass if this. It will blow your head off.

Drink in small sherry like portions. Wonderful taste and pure magic in a bottle. If you do decide to share it with others. Hide the bottle because they will want more!.

Omg I absolutely love Rubis Chocolate Wine. Forget Red, White and Rosè and simply let your pallet indulge in this. Such a smooth and sophisticated taste. To die for. I ordered 12 bottles for Christmas but have had to order more as I only have a few left.

It’s a great price. Only down side is I wish I could purchase bigger bottles. :D.

Overwhelming leather and smoke, rough finish. I don’t think the bottle was corked, but I opened up a bottle of two buck chuck (that I use for cooking) just for laughs to see what would prevail and the chuck won by a mile.

Had to wash the taste out of my mouth with a third bottle that was actually drinkable. Can’t understand the ratings. There were three of us tasting and it was the first bottle of the night. We all agreed.

I bought a bottle of this in DC when visiting by way of the store owner. He said it drinks like a much more expensive bottle. I thought – ya sure what ev. 3 years later I have purchased in excess of ten cases of this stuff.

It is my go to red and EVERYONE that tries it – wants more. If you like red blends – you’re done looking.

It’s exactly what friend of mine said it would be. Totally delicious! SLO DOWN Winery uses a catch phrase on their corks that says NO DRAMA with the line crossed out on it. Subliminal message for us people who attract unwanted drama in our lives.

Taste just like port wine mixed with dark chocolate and creme. What’s more Chocolaty ? Death by Chocolate Ice-cream or Whipped Chocovine.? Answer: Chocovine by a mile. SOOOOO Good.

If you love hot cocoa & whipped cream this wine is for you. Best served chilled it has a smooth dutch chocolate and whipped cream taste. Neither flavor is overpowering. Yummy dessert drink.

Same same gift purchased for my mom in Oregon as I live in Australia. Got a week late but she loves.

Great wine. Expensive but worth it when pairing with a steak or if you just want to relax after a busy week in work. A proper treat and highly recommended. Nice for good occasions

My favourite wine, worth the little bit extra and an added bonus is being able to get it in half size bottles. just enough for me when I fancy a glass of wine but everyone else is drinking white wine.

Recently came back from a tour of the South African winery and love it Sven more now I’ve seen how it is made.

Loves this wine, such a treat and woollies made it more affordable allowing me to make the purchase.

Then don’t buy this! I’m a sugar addict but even this was too sweet. I really wanted to love it but their Cotton Candy is perfect for me. If you want sweeter than that then please try this! However, I would not buy this if sweet wines make you nauseous.

This is not the sweet wine to try if you’re wanting to try something new. It’s a bit much.

Actually, first purchase this at located liquor store and I ended coming to Total Wine to buy it again because it one of the MIX 6 deal. Overall, the black peach is one of my favorite from the Purple Toad collection.

We have visited the purple toad winery in Kentucky, and was so excited when I saw it for sale at Sam’s Club. This is our favorite wine, great flavor, bold taste!

I tried this at my best friends wedding a few years ago and have been hooked ever since. People who tell me they don’t like wine always like this when they try it. It’s affordable but doesn’t taste cheap.

I’ll be buying this one for many years to come I’m sure.

This is the best wine I have ever tasted. It is sweet but not overbearing! Not at all expensive and goes great with many meals. I usually buy more than one bottle and wish I could afford to buy cases at a time!.

I ordered the gift basket over the weekend when a major ice/snow storm hit the Philadelphia area. It was for my former boss who had just retired. Never thought it would make it in two days as advertised.

My colleague loved these gifts, it was a great surprise; the only thing was not okay was my delivery. It came a day before her birthday when the actual delivery date I chose was her birthday the day after it was delivered.

What’s the point of choosing the day if they going to do what they want. Other than that the gift basket itself was perfect, delivery not so much.

We had this wine as a house wine in Athens. So delicious. We liked it so much that we bought a bottle home ! Well this is the exact same wine. Lol.

It took me a while, but I finally found the Mavro at Total Wine. It’s smooth, fruity and delectable. It has become a daily ritual, so salud!

I first had this wine in the 70s when I lived in Europe. It has been a continual favorite. Increase it’s not just a dessert wine it’s also served with meals. It is sweet and it is powerful. Go straight to your head, in a good way! I lived in Europe for almost 20 years, and this is one of the best sweet reds I ever had.
