20 Best Wine For Sushi (2022 Updated)

I went to a brew pub and tried a sparkling Pinot Grigio for the first time. It was very expensive (I thought). By the time the bubbles went down in the glass (after the pour) you we left with half the amount of other wines without bubbles.

I decided to go on a search for something similar. What I found was better! Barefoot’s Sparkling Pinot Grigio is wonderful. The price is less than a deflated glass at the brew pub and this is better.

I purchased enough to give as gifts for all the ladies that were with me the night we first tried it and we are in agreement that this surpasses the one we loved that evening. Total Wine has wonderful service.

I’ll be back, and my friends asked me where I purchased, so they may too. Thank you.

My husband and I enjoyed this bubbly version of Pinot Grigio for our 13th wedding anniversary. We toasted over regular PG the evening we became engaged so we have done the same for most of our anniversaries, but this bubbly is a nice step above.

I’m not a regular drinker, but this is something I will keep coming back to for special occasions. Already ordering another bottle.

For the price you can’t do any better. A poor person’s imitation prosecco. For under $7 you can’t do any better. On the sweeter side with effervescence that’s over almost as soon as it hits the glass.

But for the price, how do they do it? For something totally unpretentious, get it! What do you have to lose?.

I have kept a bartending position since before starting und graduate school and while I am not a sommelier I can speak as someone who has tried hundreds of varietals and poured thousands of glasses for others (seriously more than that) over the course of some 18 years.

The Marlborough region of New Zealand is best known for housing the vineyards responsible for some of the best Sauvignon Blanc wines (since it’s development in France) due to the climate and natural land layout.

There are many complexities about the production but I’ll skip the details and get to the actual review. I don’t know what the bottle retailed for as several were purchased but in looking online it seems to retail from about $8-$14 for a standard 750ml glass bottle (not the cans).

This is a very reasonable price that adds to the overall “drinkability”, my wine rating system that places a bottle between being a reasonable “any daily” consumable (if desired) to a “special occasion” blend.

This is a dry wine by nearly all accounts but the very fruit forward zesty Meyer lemon and sparkling grapefruit notes round out the dry aspect making it quite palatable. Depending on the vintage I have noticed that the flavors do change more than with other newer S.

B. s (for example the 2019 is sweeter and I’m told it is a heavier “pear” note that leads more than the lemon). Given the taste, availability and price point this is an affordable, well liked wine that can be poured at home on a hot summer’s day and it works as a hostess gift with its cute and not “cheesy” packaging.

*NOTE- This does contain sulphites so if someone is headache prone with wine being a trigger, this is not the best choice. Many people think it has to be “oaked” to have sulphites so a pale varietal is safe- not true- just take my word and look for a sulphite free varietal in your area.

I love sauvignon blanc. This is not my first choice as I generally gravitate towards sauvignon from Marlborough. That being said I do purchase this wine when I’m out and need to pick up a bottle at walgreens to bring to my friend’s house.

It is crisp and light which is always nice. It js definitely a good option when you don’t feel like spending too much money. [brand:cupcake-wine].

Touted as having 70 calories per glass. Empty calories. $16 New Zealand 2020 Kim Crawford Illuminate Rosé. Mid copper-orange, no viscosity (7% alc. ); floral, red fruit, dried roses nose; low acids; short, thin fruit; weak finish.

Not up to the standard of the brand. 13. 5 UC Davis scale, 85 other scales.

This is not my favourite rose. It is more full bodied, flavorful and slightly on the sweeter side. I personally prefer a lighter, dry rose. I purchased this one because I enjoy other Kim Crawford wines but I found it too jammy for my taste.

mediocre. affordable yet still not worth the price. muddy flavor, with notes of vinegar and urine. I’m puzzled why the other ratings are so high. apparently, we americans have no perception of wine.

Well, I’ve been a red wine person for years, all whites to me were too sweet. I received this pino as a gift few years ago! Lovely! Been buying ever since! We keep it in our wine stock. When we have quests or go to a friend’s home, THIS IS the pino we share or bring! All love ❤ it!.

My uncle went to Total Wine to pick up a few bottles of Pinot Grigio as a gift for me. While shopping a friend of his whom worked there told him that this Pinot Grigio was the best and to buy some for me to try.

Then he shows up at my house with 8+ cases of what used to be my favorite and a case of Tesoro. It is now at the top of my list. The very best Pinot Grigio I’ve ever had. I use it also for my homemade white sangria with a few splashes of Fresca, peach schnapps, and the juice of 5 limes including the pulp.

Garnished with frozen green apples, green grapes, blueberries, lime wedges it is delicious. I do not like sweet sangrias and this recipe it the perfect citrus flavored cocktail and the signature drink requested when friends are over.

The peach schnapps adds just the right amount of sweetness to offset the lime juice. Be careful, before you know it you’ll be downing the whole bottle. Crisp, fresh, easy to drink. Love love love it.

Highly recommend you try this wine for sipping or white sangria.

I absolutely love this wine! I bought it a couple of weeks ago, along with a couple of others I had never tried. I also purchased a couple of bottles of my go-to favorite, Santa Margherita. This Tesoro is very comparable and I will definitely be buying it again!.

We had this at a restaurant recently and loved it, so I was happy to see that Total Wines carries it. I’m buying a case to enjoy this summer!

I thought the Cavit Collection Provincia Di Pavia Riesling 2006 was fabulous! Light and refreshing, it tasted sweet on my tongue. I didn’t get citrus, but rather apricot-grape. And for me to taste a definite fruit-note is unusual as I am more of a “big picture” gal than one who picks out the details.

Pale yellow in color, the bouquet was fruity, not floral, on the Cavit Collection Provincia Di Pavia Riesling 2006.

I absolutely love this wine. This brand is amazing. I am a fan of the taste of it. It’s my go to wine selection on any given night. I’m a white as well as red wine fanatic. The bottle and packaging is very cute.

This is nice light refreshing wine. I like white wine more than red. I never had this brand before and I will try other flavors from this company. It’s a sweet wine. Smells good also.

I have to say I was so surprised I’ve tried a few different moscato wines and this is my favorite moscato. I would definitely recommend it. It is not overly sweet. It has a crisp and refreshing taste I think it’s perfect for summer days or a light sweet wine for any occasion.

I knew I was in trouble when I poured my first glass. The color was off. Too translucent for a Pinot noir. Taste was pretty bad.

We happened upon this wine one night at dinner with friends. It began an INSTANT favorite! Smooth, well bodied, with a hint of pepper, I suffer from migraines from tannins but this wine gives me no issues whatsoever.

As I wander the grounds (as I often do) on such a light and airy day as today which matches the light and airiness of the bottle of Tiny Umbrellas Moscato inhand, and Raul no doubt hot on my trail, I’m surprised to discover an entire tennis court that I forgot I had installed years ago.

With nothing but my now empty bottle of Tiny Umbrellas Moscato to play with, I chucked it wildly into the net only to have it bounce back and shatter at my feet. Oh, the need for more Tiny Umbrellas Moscato! If only I hadn’t expelled the last of it behind the large bushes beside the manor proper, I would have but a small taste left to enjoy.

I must quickly make haste! I have another tasty bottle of Tiny Umbrellas Moscato about the manor proper …now I need only to find my way back!.

This brand of wine is on sale (3 bottles for $18) at my local wine store. I had not heard of this brand of wine so I didn’t know if it would taste good. I like sweet wine. I was pleasantly surprised by its taste.

This Moscato is delicious. Sweet, crisp and refreshing. I am glad that I tried it.

This is a great way to have a cold glass of sweet and tasty Moscato waiting for you whenever you are ready. It doesn’t take up the whole refrigerator and tastes fresher than any other box brand I’ve tried.

I have been looking for the wonderful dry German Rieslings over here (“Trocken”) for years, and bought a bottle of 2019 Clean State as an optimistic experiment. Alas. The dominant flavor here is “sweet”, but is not overwhelming.

The problem is that there is little else: the Riesling varietal flavor is so subtle you hardly notice till the bottle is done. I give it 2 stars as it is not too horrible. OK as a summer picnic wine if you keep it iced, or like sweet wines.

Will not buy it again. Washington State wines marked “dry” are much better.

Bought this as on a lark just to try something new. (Total Wine great for doing that. ) I was very pleasantly surprised. I regularly Rieslings and spritzers. Clean Slate Riesling has a sort of smooth crispness, if that makes any sense.

Anyway, I like It’s good. I returned recently to restock.

I was surprised to discover on vacation in Germany that most German Rieslings are dry and far better than the sweet versions I’ve had in the US, which I never really liked with a meal. The Mosel region is stunning, with vineyards planted all along the steep slate hillsides leading down to the Rhine.

The slate adds a unique mineral quality to Mosel wines which makes them crisp and refreshing. Although not full-bodied, this wine is fruity without being sweet, balanced with the flinty quality imparted by the minerals.

It’s a wine which is reminiscent of drinking fresh mountain springwater bubbling out of the rocks. It needs to be well-chilled for my tastes. Too warm and it does taste sweet, but the cooler you make it, the more it brings out the minerals and a tart-citrus quality.

Will definitely buy again. The low alcohol and smooth taste are just right.

Amazed that you had this wine that we found in a local restaurant in Venice Italy. We couldn’t find it anywhere else in Italy, but you had it in stock and delivered it to Texas!

We have had three of these recently and love it because it is not grassy! It compares to many Sav Blanc’s that cost $20+. At this time we are not purchasing any others when this favorite is available for $13.

I was pleasantly shocked with how bright and lively this wine was. I have not found most California SBs to deliver that much green fruit flavors at this price point. Will be buying again.

It has been about two years since I sampled this wine and I fell in love with its crispy, refreshing taste but lately, it has become a sold-out commodity. Thanks to this website they had a bunch yay thanks total wine!!!!.

This is actually one of my very favorite Pinot Grigios. It’s the first one I drank and has remained one that I keep going back to. The price is good and the bottle is so pretty. I buy the water from the same company.

It’s also nice that you can remove the cork and screw the lid on and don’t need a wine stopper! Not as many stores carry it where I live as they used to, so when I do see it I will pick up a few bottles so I always have some on hand.

If you like PG you’ll probably love this.

This wine is overly sweet, syrupy garbage, an abomination to the varietal. Tasted blind, you would never know that this is (allegedly) pinot noir. The wine is so overloaded with fake oak (chips? essence?) and sugar that it reminds me of a $3.

98 “California” zinfandel. To be fair, there are a lot of people who LIKE wines like this. I know this stuff is a big seller. That is one of the reasons I put zero stock into customer reviews from Total Wine.

But if you know anything about wine, and if you prefer a pinot noir that actually looks, smells, and tastes like pinot noir, this wine is not for you. Save your money. There are plenty of $15 to $20 pinots and Burgundies out there that actually taste like pinot noir.

I recently switched from drinking sugary moscato wines to dry red wines in an effort to be more health conscious. At first I really liked this wine. It tasted good, it was affordable, and it has a convenient screw cap.

It did take some getting use to as I was use to drinking basically juice tasting wine, so switching to dry, was a bit of a change. I only drink about 1 glass every other night or so, and I noticed that after this had been opened for 3 or 4 days it started tasting really bitter and was getting more difficult to tolerate.

I won’t be getting it anymore, and am now looking for something that is going to last a little longer with a good flavor without getting bitter after a few days.
