You’ll want to pickup a few of these. The OZV Zinfandel has an excellent Zin flavor and you know it’s going to be delicious starting with the nose. It’s very drinkable now and the flavor carries through on the palette.

Enjoy a glass in the afternoon or pair with many different meals — even a salmon salad makes the pairing very nice. This is a very fine Zin for a great price — a great find!.

I am in the wine club of Opolo Vinyards in California just to buy their Mountain Zinfandel that I have shipped to my home in Massachusetts. That wine is incredible but rather expensive with the additional shipping costs.

The OZV is my other favorite Zinfandel that I discovered last year at Total Wines. It’s delicious and reasonably priced especially when you take advantage of the 6 bottle discount. I highly recommend OZV.

A red zin is our go to red wine and recently we found ourselves without any on hand. A quick trip to our local grocery store was the quickest solution since our Total Wine store is 35 miles away. In asking the guy who ran the liquor section what his best selling red zin was, he suggested we try the OXV zin.

Shockingly, it was very good as we love the hint of blackberry in our wines. Our next visit to Total Wine we stocked up on this new find. For the price, it’s hard to beat!.

I tried the 2015, and it was what I can only describe as “juicy”. It was bursting with bright fruit flavor, sweet and tart. This wine was not entirely to my liking, as I prefer a drier profile, but it was vibrant and had a more than acceptable finish, especially for a budget wine.

This was my first merlot, therefore I will not comment on its normalcy, however it was not what I would call tannic nor complex, very sweet and sufficiently rounded with tartness. I was very pleasantly surprised.

Smoking Loon Merlot, SLM is an excellent wine for the price. I gave SLM 5 stars, because I love the price of $4. 49 for what I consider a wonderful wine. To begin, I love the charming legend of the Smoking Loon.

As for the wine, SLM it is delightfully full bodied, smoky, peppery, and very tasty with cheeses, and Tex Mex foods. Too bad, McLean does not have it, because Chanilly is too far for me to go from North Bethesda, MD.

this was the #1 best selling merlot at the Westbury location. I can see that. Good for the casual wine drinker. this is more of a $10 bottle. Label is nondescript and it kinda shows.

This was a 3 for $33. 00 gamble. I’m glad I took the chance. I know next to nothing about wines. I know that some are whites, some are reds and others are somewhere in between. This wine has a very clearly defined pleasant crisp taste.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised at the quality at this price point. Definitely a new favorite.

This cab has a deep flavor that reflects the Double-Black name. I thought that it seemed stronger than it said, which was very welcoming as it paired with the bold spiced fruit flavor. When swirled, it coated the glass nicely and stayed for a great while.

This added to the mouthfeel and helped the fruitiness to cover up the aforementioned perceived alcohol bite.

I didn’t know if I would like this wine, but as I’m on a very low carb/sugar diet I had to try it. I was pleasantly surprised! I really like it. It’s a bit pricey (even though, yes I know $15 isn’t really that expensive, it’s more than I usually try to spend) to me, so that’s the reason for 4 not 5 stars.

I was very excited to try this wine but was completely disappointed. At the price point, there are quite a few other wines that are way more tasty.

As I’ve mentioned in other reviews, the Paso Robles cabs seems to be noticeably lighter than the Napa Valley cabs, and almost approaching a dark Zin in this respect. But still robust enough to go with a heavier meals where a cab is normal suitable.

Carson Ridge seems is a bit lighter than our more expensive Paso Robles favorites, Hall Ranch and Harvester, but for the money it can’t be beat. Carson Ridge cab is a super high quality bottle of wine that costs half of what you’d expect.

Because it’s a bit lighter, we find that it even pairs well with pizza and pasta.

Based on the glowing reviews here, I purchased this wine recently. Honestly I was not impressed. I judge a wine (especially, a cab) by how much better it tastes the more I drink it. Even though I opened the bottle and let it breathe for almost an hour, I can’t see buying it again.

I am a wine lover and enthusiast. It is a passion of mine. I just purchased the 2020 Carson Ridge Cab Sav. and had a glass or two last night. It is more like a table red so I have to agree with not much depth of flavor.

I ended up adding some to my beef stew. I also had a rocking headache the next morning and I only drank two glasses. Don’t think I will purchase again, but different years bring different flavors to wines.

We have been drinking this for more than five years while trying more expensive wines but this has just the right combination of sweetness, boldness and body. When we find something we enjoy more we will switch but for now BIG BOLD RED is it.

For those of us who like a big bodied fruit-forward red this is a bargain. Sometimes I try a cabernet sauvignon for the first time and find it a little on the tart side for my palate and then I add some big bold red to give it a more fruit and make it much more enjoyable for me.

I have enjoyed Yellow Tail Shiraz for many years I was disappointed in the Big Bold Red. It didn’t stand up to the other reds that I drink. It was too sweet and fruity for my taste.

This wine was a big mistake for my tastebuds. I didn’t pair it with cheeses as suggested on the label. Instead, I had two sips of it with my delicious chili. That’s as far as I got. Ugh! I couldn’t tell if the wine was bad or if that’s what it was supposed to smell and taste like.

Needless to say, I didn’t finish my glass; most of the bottle went down the drain. I won’t be buying this again.

I am a Moscato kind of girl, and this bubbly baby took me by surprise. She has a sweet aroma, sweet notes, and smooth. Serves as a pleasant option with and after dinner, with a desert, for a movie, or just to chill.

I will definitely add II Duca Rosa Imperiale to my preferred selection.

4. 5* Have been buying for about a year because it is a very nice medium/dark red wine selling at a steal price. Bogle wines usually aren’t eligible for case discounts but it finally hit me – at $7. 99 this one IS.

Been buying cases now which drops it to unbelievable $7. 20. I encourage all to try every Bogle wine in your favorite varietals because those you like are baragains – from $7-$20 range. I truly believe their claim of winning Winery of the Year.

I really like this a lot. I first discovered Bogel Petit Syrah on power but at our state liquor and wine outlet, tried it and quickly became one of our favorites. We loved it so much we tried this wine and their Cabernet also.

I don’t really care for their Cabernet, but I enjoy this wine a lot. It’s an easy drinking red, not one I would age, but affordable and delicious.

This bottle was gifted to me, and what a very pleasant surprise! From the first smell of the cork, and taste in the glass, hints of berry are beautifully blended. I love this wine extra chilled. I put it in the freezer before it turns to slush and will drink it straight from the bottle. (judge your mom) It’s the first red wine that doesnt leave a bitter aftertaste and it’s not super sweet which i love.

The perfect balance.

I recently purchased this bottle of wine and, I’m so glad I did. The taste, complexity, and tannins are balanced and very rich and smooth, without being sweet. Not to mention that this bottle sells for less than $20.

This is added to my “go-to” list for cabernet. I believe this would pair well with fish, poultry, or steak. I have tried a variety of expensive wines (over $100 a bottle) and I’ve not found one that is better than this.

Right away it smelled of wild ripe berries, almost like a homemade jam. You can also smell the wood and a faint aroma that reminds me of cigar smoke. First taste there was a hint of tartness. it was dry and bold but not overpowering.

It finishes so smooth. My husband bought me a bottle for our 13th anniversary, and it did not disappoint. This is a very adult, romantic wine. Love it. Will keep it in my collection for guests!.

Recently, I am trying to look for some inexpensive but good quality wines. This one starts with sweet floral nose and some kind of vanilla. To me, it is not full-body, close to medium body, even though its alcohol level is 14.

5%. Enough but less tannin to lightly enjoy the wine and snack. It has a definite character of Cab. Good quality at this price range.

My wife and I enjoy chardonnays, and this purchase was made via a winery direct promotion. A 2014 vintage, which exhibited a light straw color and some legs. There was a noticeable citrus nose, and the taste was some fruit and a bit of acid.

The finish was long. I felt that this wine was far too costly to bother purchasing again. Total Wine has many other chards that are better and a much better value.

I finally got to try this wine and was very impressed. The flavors went well with baked chicken. I will be buying this again!

Normally, I like a chardonnay that has more of an oak barrel influence in the flavor, but this is a good, lighter one. It’s perfect for warm summer days/nights.

Almost full body. Aroma is subdued. Very concentrated flavor not unlike a more expensive Ripasso. Does not have the complexity of flavor of a Ripasso. This is a dry wine but finishes with just a hint of Sweetness.

Bought on sale for about $12. I rate it an 89 and I will be buying more.

Perhaps the haters got a bad bottle, but – having tasted many wines – I find this to be 1) an excellent value, 2) great representative of Puglia wines, and 3) as good as any $15 red blends from California.
