20 Best Wines For Cooking (2022 Updated)

Chicken Marsala is one of my all-time favorites, and I recently tried making a variation of it with Holland House cooking wine for the first time. I always use my slow cooker as much as possible and decided that this method would be perfect for cooking the chicken in the cooking wine.

I seasoned some chicken breasts, added garlic and mushrooms, and then poured the cooking wine over the chicken. I let this combination cook for about five hours and then thickened the sauce. I served this beautifully tendered chicken with fresh vegetables and the whole thing tasted absolutely delicious.

The Marsala cooking wine was an excellent substitute for regular wine and I will definitely use it again in the future. Until now, I had not ventured into the realm of cooking wines and, although I had heard of Holland House, I had not previously tried their products.

As previously stated, I will use their cooking wines in the future and would certainly recommend the Marsala version to others. I enjoyed my meal so much, that I will be making the same thing again within the week.

Zero stars!!! I used to buy all the Holland House wines (Marsala, red, white, sherry) for cooking. I don’t really drink, so I don’t go to the liquor store often. It was handy to grab what I needed at the grocery store, and was more inexpensive.

The bottle keep getting smaller, ok whatever. But now the taste is terrible, all it tastes like is straight alcohol. This goes for the sherry as well. I won’t buy these anymore and will spend a few more bucks buying the legit stuff at the liquor store.

Bad move Holland House. Thumbs down!.

One of my all time favorite comfort foods is chicken marsala. This wine is absolutely perfect for creating the most flavorful sauce possible. It’s rich, delicious and savory. This dish is a staple for my family and we make it often.

I only buy Holland House Marsala Cooking Wine and highly recommend it!.

I really like this, you can do a lot with mirin. One of the best uses I have found for it was making this orange julius recipe instead of using honey as the sweetener. However there are a ton of Japanese recipes this was designed for so if you’re into Japanese food this is a must.

I wish this product didn’t contain high fructose Corn syrup but I suppose such a small amount is needed that it’s not a terribly big deal. Excellent for marinades and dressing.

My must have! I put it into everything I make. It has a slightly sweet taste so sometimes I pour a bit of this in replace of sugar (only when a small amount of sugar is needed). This what I use to take my food up a notch in a subtle way.

My family loves new recipes, or a twist on old favorites. The Holland House label did not disappoint. I googled recipes, and one of our favorites, lettuce wraps. We used the Sherry Cooking Wine. We enjoyed the taste, and we are ready to try other recipes.

The Holland house brand was easy to find in the grocery, we also noticed other Holland House products we want to try next. I would encourage others to try new recipes, or just add the Sherry Cooking wine to a favorite recipe.

I have used Holland House brand products before, but this was my first time cooking with Holland House White Cooking Wine. I was so excited to try some new recipes with this wine. I used it in a veggie recipe, and also a fish recipe.

The wine really created a nice marinade and brought an extra delicious taste to both recipes! It is easy to use and such a great addition to any recipe. I definitely recommend this! It can be used with so many recipes!.

Holland House Sherry Cooking Wine adds an abundance of flavor to each food item I’ve added it to. Taste was more flavorful than other brands we’ve tried. I would definitely purchase this cooking wine again.

I will be adding it to many of our dishes that we serve. Before this program, I had previously used this product but hadn’t used it in a very long time. From now on, I will be adding it to our food shopping list from now on.

I’ve recommended it to my family and friends already and will continue to do so.

I really liked trying this out for the first time! I had never cooked with a cooking wine, but have always wanted to and this made the experience a great one! Since I wasn’t familiar with cooking wines, I went onto the brand site and looked at the recipes that they suggested.

I chose to make the Chicken Marsala Meatballs and they were great! They tasted delicious, were very filling, simple to make and my whole family loved them. I really liked the appearance and fragrance of the cooking wine and it not only made the meal I prepared taste great, it was an overall pleasant cooking experience.

I love to experiment with food/recipes and cook dinner for my family every night (and breakfast and lunch). I love Holland House red cooking wine. I normally use this or Merlot while cooking sauces. I also use a tad in my spaghetti sauces and in beef stew and pot roast.

It gives it such a wonderful, bold and rich flavor without the overwhelming wine taste. It brings out a ton of flavor in the sauce and in the meat. Everyone can tell when I do not use it (if I run out); it makes that much of a difference.

I can’t cook sauces without it – I will always continue to use this! The only downside, as with any red liquid – is that it will stain if spilled!.

This is our favorite cooking wine to make authentic Swiss Fondue, using Emmentaler and Gruyere cheese. Back in Switzerland we used “real” Sauterne, but when I discovered the Reese Sauterne cooking wine, I found that it made for a perfect cheese fondue.

I like this size bottle as it is much easier to store once I have opened the bottle. I use this type of cooking wine extensively and found that the box of six is perfect for my purposes and uses these days.

This tastes amazing in a sauce to use with shrimp and pasta. Sometimes I just replace 1/2 the water with this wine to cook chicken in the crockpot.

This has to be one of the BEST cooking wines out there. First time user, I have to say hands down Kedem is the most authentic one I have tried. The flavor does not dissipate in the cooking process; and because of this, I can use less.

Bought this wine for cooking makes your toast taste extra good would buy it again it’s not expensive and gives foods that extra taste I️ have bought this in the past and would continue to buy it especially since it’s a kosher wine.

I used to mess with buying regular wine to use for cooking, the flavors never came out right unless a decent quality wine was used which gets expensive. Idk why it took me so long to try these products.

This stuff is excellent! I won’t make pot roast or beef stew without it now! Its cost effective as it doesn’t deteriorate after opening like drinking wine and it adds the exact flavors I am looking for in those dishes, and the aroma it gives off after adding is mouthwatering.

I am completely sold and will never have to worry about picking up that last minute bottle of wine for my cooking again being able to keep this on hand.

literally the best creation on this earth. I was introduced to this by my oldest sister and i haven’t let up on this wine since. adds so much more flavor into my meals and makes my meat more flavorful.

I always use this red cooking wine to deglaze my pan when making beef stew when I brown my beef for my slow cooker gives extra flavor also not a bad price usually the store has it in stock so I usually two bottles because sometimes they dont but overall great product.

I finally tried Holland House White Cooking Wine and I wish I hadn’t waited so long! This cooking wine maintains the flavor from the minute you add the cooking wine until you finally sit down to eat! Why would you buy cooking wine? Buy a cheap red wine it will taste better as will your dish. Cooking wine is one of the strangest inventions in the cooking world.

This is a perfect cooking wine and my secret ingredient in my spaghetti sauce. the one thing that bothers me about ALL cooking wines o’s that they don’t require an ID to but them.

Vinegar is yet another staple item in my diet. This brand and type are my favorite! I love the flavor and consistent quality of this!! I always use red wine vinegar and olive oil as a quick guilt free salad dressing.

I also add a bunch of spices to it! Love it !.

I love making my own salad dressings, and where I used to use regular vinegar, I substitute it with Heinz Gourmet Red Wine Vinegar. It brings an added flavor note you just can’t get from regular vinegars.

Worked well for my Greek salad! It adds a nice pinch of acidity. I was scared to use Heinz simply because I never saw them beyond a ketchup brand but this little bottle came through! #influenstereats #foodie.

We bought this Marsala wine for marinating our turkeys in since you can get a gallon so cheaply. Worked out wonderfully as part of the brine. Note that this has salt in it so I would not recommend using it in cocktails as it will give them an off taste.

But as a flavor burst and adding a little caramel color to gravies it works nicely.

I use this in my signature “wedding dish” which is a pasta with a grilled vodka rustica sauce and it’s amazing. I was a little worried to order such a large quantity of it, but I love the quality as well as the versatility to use it in other dishes! Would definitely recommend this product!.

My husband loves my Chicken Marsala and requests it often. The grocery store offers a small bottle which is more expensive then the gallon size I purchased through the webstaurant store. Excellant product in the quantity that meets my families needs.

Perfect for preparing mushroom Marsala side dish as well.
