20 Best Wines For Lobster (2022 Updated)

This was the first box wine I’ve ever tried. Black Box Chardonnay made me fall in love with Chardonnay. I used to not be big on white wine but my favorite white wine is Chardonnay. The alcohol content is pretty high.

I also love the price. Kroger prices this wine the best for I believe 16. 99. Box wine also last a while so I would recommend this wine for a fun weekend with friends.

Tried this as we are Chardonnay drinkers and looking for something comparable but a bit less expensive than Sonoma Cutrer, RRV. This is wonderful. If you like the RRV Sonoma, I would believe you would like this, its exceptionally well balanced.

Not too fruity, smokey or acidic. Very well balanced and smooth. Buying more now.

This is currently my favorite Chardonnay! Well balanced and a nice finish. Not too sweet or oaky … just right! (Do I sound like Goldilocks?). I generally favor California chards and this Russian River vintage has hit a home run for me!.

I was shopping for Chardonnay for my son’s wedding. I wanted a balanced wine to satisfy most palates without breaking the bank. After trying about six different wines I decided this was the one. Wedding is next month, fingers crossed that it is well received.

I really wanted to like this Austin Hope wine. And don’t get me wrong. it was good. but it wasn’t special. it wasn’t holiday good. So for the dollar, you can do better. Yes, you will enjoy it, it’s a solid choice.

But it isn’t outstanding for the price.

Smooth finish–fruity–medium body. I really didn’t love this wine—afterwards, I realize that I prefer the Austin Hope Troublemaker to this wine–it is not as smooth as Quest–but it is more flavorful and memorable and 2/3 of the price.

We really like the Austin Hope Cabernet–that is a lovely wine. Quest just didn’t measure up.

This review is for the 2017 vintage. Most of the reviews shown are worthless, as they are from anonymous reviewers and are without details. For me, this wine was very drinkable immediately after opening and without decanting.

Fruit forward. Good acidity. Lingering finish. Well balanced. I drank it over two days. The wine held together over that time. The first day I paired it with roast beef. The next night I had it with a turkey burger.

I’ll buy it again.

My first reaction was that it tasted like flat grape soda. No joke. It tastes like fake grape flavors. Ugh.

Very nice wine the taste is great you can have it at a meal or just by itself. I like it as a movie night with popcorn go ahead and give it a try.

I love the convenient bottle size and that these are shatterproof plastic. My grocery bag broke on my way to the car the day I bought these and 2 bottles fell onto pavement but remained unharmed. I only really bought these because the flavor notes on the cardboard carton differed from the large bottle.

It read blueberry and mocha notes. Very different from the description online as well except for the mocha notes. I have had Barefoot’s Merlot before and I still love it. I tried it in 2 different wine cocktails as well.

My favorite was mixing #Barefoot #Merlot #wine with Q Mixer Hibiscus Ginger Beer, delicious! Great on it’s own too!.

is there anything better than a good tasting merlot with a filet mignon? how about a great tasting merlot that doesn’t break the bank as well? this one is it. I like mine room temperature, however some enjoy this merlot chilled.

either way, snazzy up steak night with your better half and a bottle of good wine. pop in a tape of “breakfast at Tiffany’s” in the ol’vcr and have another bottle of wine for dessert😎☺.

I’m not a sommelier, but I do buy a few bottles of wine every week and keep “wine notes” of what I like and don’t like. Here’s what I can say about Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon: I’ve never had a “bad” bottle and for the price, it doesn’t get better.

I could spend over $40 on a really great bottle of wine (maybe, because you don’t know if you’ll like it until you buy it and taste it), but I can say that for under $5, it doesn’t get better than Barefoot.

Everyone’s taste is different, so here’s what I found: Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon is mellow, smooth, not too acidic (just a touch), and the finish doesn’t leave your mouth in a bad place (as many sub $10 wines do).

Here’s the great news: spend the $5 and see for yourself. If you hate it, you’re only out $5. If you’re like me, you’re going to drop about $15 for 3 bottles each week and be content with a consistent wine that goes great with a medium rare rib-eye over charcoal.

Try it; you won’t be disappointed.

Fabulous, crisp and slightly fruity. if you like a New Zealand Sauvignon, I would recommend this. I will be buying more – and the delivery service was fantastic. The best I have ever had! Turned up the same day it was ordered.

This is a really sharp Sauvignon Blanc. Excellent on its own but equally with fish and chicken. Very quaffable! Bit more expensive than the usual sauvs, but great for a treat!

What an absolute treat to the taste and nose senses! The most memorable white wine I have had the pleasure to share in years. Tropical flavours and bouquet will have you craving for more so I suggest you always buy 2 bottles at a time, especially once your friends and family get a taste.

Super dry!! I like dry wines, but this one has zero acid to make it balanced and well-rounded. It’s okay, and has some old world characteristics. The nose is nice, but the palate was super dry. Had this with some chicken and it just didn’t really pair in an enjoyable way.

I speak of the 2012 vintage, which is delicious. I found the bouquet gentle and subtle, the balance excellent; not at all heavy on tannin. Though I would concur that Bordeaux are usually not for beginners; this one is light, not overly fruity, with a gentle finish.

It will improve for a couple of years. Like many of the Winery Direct selections, it represents a good value, which is why I rated it 5 stars.

If you’re not familiar with the characteristics of well-crafted Bordeaux; this is a great place to begin your learning journey. First, understand this wine is crafted in the old-world style; before “fruit-bomb” wines became the rage.

Second, this wine focuses on both the grape and the cask used in-which to ferment the juice. So, you’ll get the grape and oak context, which is sorely lacking in many domestic reds under the $40 (US) price-point.

Hopefully you will agree; this is a great find!.

Nothing came in broken and was very pleased that you sold the wine I wanted. The only thing I was negative was when they delivered the wine, they left it on my door step and didn’t even ring the bell.

I was happy I was home and wasn’t out for the day.

Couldn’t find the Moscato I used to drink anymore & stumbled on this one in a restaurant. It’s become my new FAVORITE wine. Incredibly Smooth for a sweet wine!!

My wife (a South African) and I love Spier! We’ve been to the Spier Wine Farm and our stay there was amazing! (We even ordered a ton of Spier wines for our wedding in South Africa!) With that said, we actually never had the Spier Seaward Pinotage while in South Africa until we moved to back to the US.

We think that this Spier Seaward Pinotage might be a smidge better than the 21 Gables, actually! This is a fantastic red. You won’t regret it.

Since visiting the Speir Winery in South Africa a number of years ago, I have been a big proponent of their wines. good taste, great for happy hour or as a dinner wine and reasonably priced. I was first introduced to Pinotage through a Total Wine associate.

Great addition to my Speir selections; I served a bottle to some chili supper guests and heard one exclaim. “this is a great wine. ” I then told the story of spending a wonderful night at the Speir Winery and dining in the restaurant while staying in one of the lodging rooms.

Highly recommend the product. It joins Malbec as my preferred red wine.

This wine really delivers, comparing very favorably against most others at this price point. Very nuanced flavors, as mentioned by others, and a very enjoyable wine. Would highly recommend.

I NEVER thought I would be recommending a Riesling. Every Riesling I’d ever tasted was sweet, which is fine for some food pairings, but not for casual drinking (IMHO). This Riesling is only slightly sweet, has a full fruit flavor and is delightful for Summer sipping! Give it a try!.

Have been drinking this lower priced Riesling for years. World Market used to carry it for years; they stopped carrying it, so I sought it out. Marketview Liquour in Rochester, had it: good price but a bit pricey shipping.

Bought this wine after seeing so many positive reviews. But as a result I got a very mediocre product. The wine which was literally sweet. That sweetness killed each and every nuance of taste. Total dissappointment.

If you’re looking for a proper merlot in this price category, J. LOHR is your choice, excellent value for money in this case.

My father always told me that if you can find a wine that you like that isn’t expensive, then stick with it and I was really impressed with Radius Merlot. No burn nor harsh tones; just a smooth and light merlot that finishes really well.

It is not as robust as I typically like, especially with a filet mignon, but honestly, for right around $10 this is absolutely going to be on our regular shopping list.

I always try to drink New Zealand Pinot Noir and this was excellent. Reasonably priced, a lighter and fresh flavor. My guests loved it and I have since sent as an Christmas gift to a friend who raved about it at the party.

You can’t go wrong for the price!.

I discovered this wine when I was living in New Zealand and am delighted to see it on shelves here in the US. I enjoy full robust French reds like Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this Pinot Noir is less heavy and so it is always in our cabinet.

Friends who find the Châteauneuf-du-Pape a little overwhelming and/or bitter consistently rave about this Pinot Noir. It’s incredibly smooth with no sharp after taste, fabulous with light cheeses but it can also hold it’s own with a Stilton or Boursin.

An easily drinkable wine from an incredibly beautiful place. If you’re not sure about Pinot Noir, try this one, but remember, you’re going to need more than one bottle.

I love that Oyster Bay has other delicious wines! This Pinot Noir is a go-to red wine, especially for someone looking to explore another Pinot Noir region. Full of cherry flavors and easy to drink on its own.

This is a first for me. I’ve never had a chilled red wine burn on the way down before. It’s so strange, it smells and tastes like someone mixed a cheap liquor into the wine barrel. I can taste that it’s fruit forward, slightly sweet, and not dry.

I just can’t get past 3 sips without drunken night flashbacks. You know, those memories that make you gag.

This is my favorite red wine when I can get it. Awesome with Steak au Poivre. Not always available and in limited supply. You used to carry Greg Norman Shiraz, which was even better. You might want to reconsider your assortment.

They don’t have the cab sav listed on here but it is absolutely one of my top go to’s! Has a bit of sweet cherry and a smoothe finish. Will buy this time and time again

I grabbed this at #Target for $11. 99. Great for date nights as well. It has become a household favorite.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’m not a wine drinker at all. I’ve tried a couple and I’ve never found one that stuck. They were either overpoweringly sweet or too bitter. You won’t even catch me with beer in my hands either cause bleh! This wine was delicious and very tolerable.

It was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. I loved it and I will be repurchasing again.

It’s smooth and just sweet enough to absolutely enjoy with everything – an entree of any kind, a salad, desserts !!! I like the “screw top” since I’m not great with getting a cork out.

It is a delicious wine, which we do enjoy very much.

I haven’t tried a bite box in years. Got the Nighthawk dark Malbec last week. Wonderful. Picked up the Riesling today. Very disappointed. Not in the flavor it quality of the wine, but the spot leaks sporadically and horribly.

Hope it’s a fluke, but do better, BotaBox.

I generally think this is the best tasting Riesling within its price range. My only issue is that two separate times (once in Kentucky & once in Florida) I have purchased this product and been unpleasantly surprised to find spoiled wine.

I don’t know if this is a Bota issue or a supplier issue, but it’s so disheartening to open a new box and have to pour it down the sink.

As a lover of Bota’s Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio, I was anticipating a great Riesling. However it was disappointingly sweet and lacking the “sparkle” of a good Riesling. More Kool-Aid than wine.

Sadly, dumped the entire box after a couple of sips.

This one can! Just very tasty for the $10-12 range.

This is probably the BEST Merlot I have tasted in a long time. I will be in to get 6 this week. Along with my usually monthly shopping of hard liquors and my White Wines. It was very smooth to the tongue with a subtle sweetness and no bitterness at all ,.

This wine has quickly become one of our favorites. It has a warm and soft flavor with a satisfying after taste. Very nice wine at a value price point.

First time buying Angeline Merlot Reserve. Im not an expert to say this wine has hints of this or that…it either tastes good or it doesn’t. This was a tasty and smooth merlot!
