20 Best Winter Construction Boots (2022 Updated)

Exceptional. Received as listed. Ordered full size larger. Normally wear 9. 5w. Went with 11. Fitment: As the foot is pushed all the way forward, can without trouble fit my finger behind the heel. With the foot to the rear position my toes can move freely.

Side to side movement and instep is not as roomy, more snug to get a fingers width. When slightly kicking a wall, my feet does not shift within the boot. Don’t have the words to describe the quality of this product other than the baffin Derick is noticeably of a unique composition clearly designed as it was intended to be used.

Honestly the warmest work boots I’ve ever owned and I live in Fort McMurray, AB and get cold feet quite often. A little heavy at the beginning but I got used to them pretty quickly. They’re comfy, they’re warm and they’re functional.

Even working on heavy equipment. They’re large boots but small enough to still be a versatile game changer out in the cold. I found when it was warmer -15 to -25 my feet didn’t sweat or anything that much which is a huge deal for me.

I sized up from a 9 to a 10 so I could use thicker socks and although I’m a 9. 5 boot size I feel like I could of went with the 9.

As per the FAQ on the website, if it says fit is “True to size”, you should order one size larger than you wear with your shoes, because you need to compensate for the thickness of the insulation. I ordered based on the regular size of my feet, and it took a little breaking in before they fit comfortably.

They are fantastic though. Keeps me warm no matter the weather. I have a job coming up for work that is North of Yellowknife in the territories, so we will see soon if they live up to the hype when I REALLY give them a good test.

Great packaging and delivery was a reasonable time frame.

Amazingly comfortable PAC boot, that is also safety toe and EH rated. I bought this boot first and foremost as a “WINTER” boot, and at that it excels. You can read the features I’m not going to list them here, bottom line they keep your feet warm and dry and they won’t sweat outdoors in cold Temps.

That being said, they are a PAC boot, not meant to be worn indoors for long periods of time or in warmer Temps, this is NOT an all season boot and your feet will more than likely sweat in warmer conditions.

The added bonus is that they have a composite safety toe and heal protection as well as a non-marking, oil and slip resistant, electrical hazard sole and something very important to my job and not listed in the features.

ladder-lock. I work aloft a ladder for a lot of my day and need either a 90° heal or ladder-lock. This feature keeps a good solid grip on ladder rungs and prevents you foot from slipping while climbing, descending and standing at the top of a ladder.

As winter boots go, these are fairly light and form fitting, unlike most PAC/winter boots and they run true to size. Everybody’s feet are different and some here have commented that there was some break in time and getting blisters on the heal during break in.

I have not experienced this and believe if your order the right size for your feet, they won’t require any break in as they are soft and flexible. The only downside I have experienced with these boots is the lacing.

I have never worn a 10″ boot before, all my boots are 6″ so there is a bit of a learning curve here, but once I got used to the lacing system I was able to get into and out of these boots with little difficulty.

Overall, these are a fantastic WINTER work boot and I will definitely buy another pair when the time comes.

I have had this boot now for about a month while working at an outage in Michigan during the winter. I will say, my feet were absolutely not cold with wind chills down to 7’F. My feet stayed very warm the whole time.

That said, it doesn’t really allow for ventilation, nor is it very breathable. That is one aspect that Carhart can work on. Bring an extra pair of socks that you can rotate out of while at work as your feet will potentially sweat and give you bad blisters which happened to me.

I have no doubt that these boots will do you well. Again. I have only used these for about a month, so I am not sure on the longevity they will provide, but they are constructed solid. They look like Frankenstein’s boots on my size 14 feet.

Arctic sport II tall boots A friend recommended muck boots brand. I have had brilliant snow boots in the past, however standing pitch side at kids sporting events over winter, my feet remained frozen by the end of it.

I decided to move away from the snow boot for a broader range boot. I bought the artic sport tall boots and I have to say I am a complete convert and total advocate! My feet and legs are so warm in the cold weather.

You can feel the warmth surrounding your feet and legs with the technology and materials they use in making these boots. Not sure if it can be enhanced further (and maybe this is present in the higher range – which may have to be my next purchase in the future!!) but it would be amazing if muckboot could pop something further into the top of the lining boot to keep the top of the toes even warmer (personal preference as I totally feel the cold!!).

Normal wellies don’t keep the feet warm, they are a piece of rubber offering basic waterproofing to the foot. Muckboots have changed the way people look at wellies! They are more than just a wellie, they are enhanced stylish product design and technology which they have succeeded in covering so many needs of the wearer in winter.

I needed some wellies as where I walk my dogs can be quite wet. I bought the Fitflop one’s as I find their shoes and boots very comfy. They arrived and I was quite disappointed with them. They weren’t comfy and after only a couple of months wear they split and let in water.

I returned them for a refund and didn’t want to waste my money on the same again so I researched other possibilities. I came across the Muck Boots and can safely say they are now my favourite boots. They are really comfortable and you cannot feel stones and other lumps through the sole.

There is lots of room for my wide feet and they are warm and snug even in minus temperatures. They feel very sturdy and remind me a bit of rigger boots. They are great boots for dog walking and I would definitely but another pair.

If you need some great boots then don’t hesitate to buy these.

I don’t know what the cold rating is for these but they’re serious boots for serious cold. I have HORRIBLE circulation in my feet and I’ve always struggled with cold toes. This is my second Canadian winter with these and so far the toes are excellent.

Full disclosure: the factory insoles are “meh” so I removed them and inserted thick shearling insoles, and I always use substantial wool socks (usually a heavyweight Darn Tough over-the-calf). Make no mistake — these are substantial boots for seriously cold temps.

Strolling around the mall is not what these were made for. I wear mine walking the dog on the wooded trails behind our house. My size 13s weigh just a hair less than 3 lbs per boot and they’re 17” tall; they fall about 3” below my kneecap.

I have had the Bogs Classic High for two years before they wore out at the soles. And realized I need a new replacement. I felt that although the Classic Highs were a good boot, they wore out at the soles a bit prematurely than what I would have liked in a boot.

I feel that Bogs is ahead of the game on boot design and durability, and understand that rubber boots are not as long lasting due to the nature of the material compared to say leather boots. So I bought a Yulex collaboration boot that reminded me of my retired Classic Highs and immediately could tell there was a construction difference.

The boot does feel more refined to fit with less bulk and doesnt have the floppiness of the Classic High style. They also have ankle support, which is a cushion that wraps around your ankle. It doesnt feel overly obtrusive, but may at first before a break in period occurs, then it feels like its apart of your ankle, just holding gently enough to give support, but not so much as to cause any discomfort.

The boots have better lining on the inside, and a better inner sole design. So far they are holding up fine, but only after a month of use, the bottom sole looks like its designed for more terrain styles as well, almost like a sort of all season tire, rather than the mud lugs on the Classic High, which can wear out more on rougher ground.

So far so good, and highly recommend them to anyone. I use these professionally as a work boot in the fishing industry. -Chris VW.

Replaced an old pair of LL Bean slip-on duck boots with a pair of Bogs Bozeman Talls. Easy slip-on and perfect fit. Matches my running shoe size perfectly with room for heavy socks. Unexpectedly comfortable and warm interior footbed.

We’re in Iowa near the Minnesota border. Lots of sub-zero weather. And so far? Paired with heavy wool boot socks, there’s no need for additional insulation. Though Bogs offers a winter insulated version, the Bozeman Tall Yulex.

I’m out in the cold multiple times a day to walk our high-energy Brittany dog. Standing on cold concrete or frozen lake, my feet stay warm and comfortable. The easy, on-off is appreciated, as is the comfortable contoured footbed for walking.

The wide footprint provides confident traction. Much better than the narrow heel on traditional duck boots. On icy days I add a set of large slip-on Redwing Yaktrak ice grippers to my size 11 Bozeman boots.

The built-in loop handles are useful. I honestly can’t imagine a better pair of waterproof winter/wet weather boots. I’m a first-time buyer and very impressed. Fully justified the premium for Bogs. An unequivocal 5-stars.

This is my second purchase of Bogs boots. Last year I bought a very similar boot that has a fleece lining. I have worn it in all seasons and it is never too hot or too cold. I have horses at home and am out doing barn work several times a day, in all weather.

I wanted to buy another pair of the same boots and ordered these. They are fine, but the lining is more a silky material and had I known I would have searched for the fleece ones. I am sure these will work for me, but I am just alerting shoppers to check the lining, since Bogs boots look the same outwardly.

These were cheaper, but I would have gladly paid the few extra dollars for the ones I like. My other pair are still in good condition, very comfortable, slip on and off easily, and keep me warm/cool and dry, as needed for the season.

Since I have discovered Bogs boots, I no longer buy those cheap rubber boots that do not last. I just took away one star since I was not aware of the type of lining. Hopefully it will work for me.

For over 30 years I have always used the Hunter ‘Welly ‘ as my default boot for horses and dog walking. I bought my final set of hunters at the start of lock down and after a year they already had a tear on the top from weakened rubber where the boot folds as you walk.

(I think Hunter have invested in cheaper rubber?) I was annoyed that they lasted such a short time and started to look elsewhere. I have tried several brands and had to give a very expensive pair of short boots to my friend as they rubbed my ankles, can’t remember the brand.

Well fellow readers, I need look no further. My Muck boots arrived today and I wore them for a while around the house to make sure they were comfy before I got them muddy. When I put them on, they felt like I had been wearing them for years and they moulded to my feet, like a comfy pair of old slippers.

I ventured out with the dogs for a good long walk. These are the comfiest boots ever, the soles are thick and encase your feet and you feel like you’re walking on springs. I have always found Hunters cold and bought the socks to line them, but I have no doubt whatsoever that come the winter, my feet will be super toastie.

The only thing I would say is order a size or two up. I’m a 3 1/2, the size 3 was way too small and I have found the size 5 perfect with a pair of wooly socks. Well done Muck!.

Two things that I thought initially I might learn to live with, because they are a nice boot. They keep my feet warm and dry in the dead of winter up here in northern Wisconsin on Lake Superior. However after further review there are two things that I can no longer live with.

One is when you tuck your pants in and everybody wheres them like this, they twist the pants inside the boot to the point of extreme discomfort. Secondly the cuff at the top is so tight that if I ware them for any length of time they will chafe on my calf to the point of leaving a painful mark on my leg.

Gave them to my coworker to try out the other day as we have the same size foot and after 30 minuets of use he was having the same issues.

I was disappointed with the fitment of these boots, other reviews said that sizing was accurate. Well I’m a size ten, so I ordered a ten. These boots were so tight, I could barely slip them on, also the toe portion of the boot was curling down on the top of my foot causing extreme pressure.

Very uncomfortable. I am returning the boots.

They arrived one day late because of the postal service interruption. BUT, they were early because gostweat deferred the delivery time by three days for that reason. The boots are amazing! The tred grip is very dependable.

Even on mossy rocks. The liners go right to the top so you feel the comfort as soon as you slide your foot into these babies! They don’t have 1/2 sizes. I have a 9 1/2 foot, but went for the 9 boot because I didn’t want my foot sliding around.

The choice was right. Worth every penny! I still have not had serious low temperatures and will review again on that. 👍.

Best boots I ever had in the 12 years of the cold winter months in northern Alberta. They boots still flexible when it’s -45 and still have good grip in the cold. I won’t be going back to another other boot but these Baffin Titian.

I am thrilled with these boots. I live in Massachusetts so its ice one day, snow the next then mud and rain. These boots have it all covered. Honestly these are the best boots I have owned for so many different kinds of weather.

They are warm, water proof and comfortable. Cant recommend these enough.

These boots are nothing short of AMAZING, most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn. I wear these everyday in the winter snow/ rain and forget I have them on, they keep my feet warm and cozy! My husband loves his also.

Bought these boots for hiking and backpacking. Buyer was worried about the weight of these boots for hiking and backpacking prior to ordering. However, upon delivery and first fit these boots are surprisingly light weight.

After the first hike they are not heavy. They break in after a day of use after cleaning with saddle soap and a heavy application of leather conditioning oil. Buyer does recommend ordering a half size or full size smaller than a normally purchased boot or shoe depending on the weather and sock used by the user.

We are foresters and have had several pairs of these boots. We have tried many different boots, but these are our favorite. Can’t beat the Vibram sole and Gore Tex liner. These are tough enough for military combat, and are tough enough for our slogs through creeks, briars, mud, rocks, etc.

marking and cruising timber The 200 gram insulation works well year round. The insulation is not too hot in the summer, gives some warmth in the winter, helps maintain the shape of the boots when not wearing them, and acts as additional cushion and leg protection on the uppers.

The speed lacing is great. Just slip them on and pull the laces tight. Laces are long enough to wrap around top of boot c couple of times to keep debris and critters out. Some reviewers say these boots last them ten years.

Maybe so, but in our line of work after two or three years we get another pair. Well worth the price. Will keep buying them.

What a great boot! I work construction here in the great state of Maryland, concrete delivery. Most mornings during the winter here are in the teens. I was looking for a boot to work in that could withstand the cold, wet, mud, concrete, snow and keep me dry, warm and toe impact safe.

The Aero Insulator with composite toe does all I’ve mentioned. I use to wear regular work boots, buying a new pair every 3-4 months, but no more. I was skeptical about these boots keeping my feet warm during the winters here in MD, but the Aero Insulator does just that @ 15 degrees with nothing more than a thin compression sock on.

amazing! I wear these boots for work, (12 to 16) hours a day (6) days a week and I have no complaints. I did have a slight problem with the right boot, the top of my foot would press against the top of the boot.

I guess I have a high bridge on that foot, but I remedied that problem by removing the foot insert from the right boot to give my foot more clearance. I’ve had the boots for several months now and have since replaced the foot pad after breaking the boots in fairly well.

I will definitely be purchasing more pairs in the future, but unfortunately, that doesn’t look like it will be anytime soon as the boots are holding up quite well. I may need a thinner pair for the warmer seasons as these might be too well insulated for the (spring/summer).

If so, I’ll look for a light weight pair of Lacrosse boots as they are extremely comfortable, I like the design and I have complete confidence that this brand of boots will do the job that they are designed to do.

Very unhappy! Expensive! Two hundred bucks from the factory. Slow to ship! Took a month to get here. But they look cool. So I finally get em on and they are small for size. I need to wear thick socks to make size 11 Xtratuff and Cabela’s brand boots and the Lacrosse size 11 boots with thick socks cuts off circulation to my feet.

Thin socks it is then. My feet are cold! Popsicle cold in these Lacrosse boots! In Dillingham Alaska sub zero temps these boots don’t work. My white bunny boots are used up and I thought this would be a good replacement.

Not so.

I thought these were my newest favorite boots. The fit is great and comfortability is very good. Used them ice fishing and snow blowing minimally. All these good things are thrown out the door when you get a wet foot in ankle derp water.

After years of using the Brush Tough La Crosse waders, I’m certainly unimpressed with the durability. Now it’s getting time to use them again and I’m searching for something new😡. Knee boots are supposed to keep you dry first and foremost.

With a wet foot there is no win here.

I have been a ASE Master Certified Auto Technician for 20 years now. Have been through my share of boots. This specific boot from Carolina boots has been the best I’ve ever worn! I am on my second pair of 9528s with this purchase.

My last pair made it three a little over three years. And in all honesty they aren’t completely worn out. In my line of work they are constantly getting beat, covered in all kinds of chemicals, and in and out of the elements.

These boots have handled it all perfectly. only pair of boots that have never had a break-in period. And honestly I thought it was just a fluke with the last pair but my feet have never hurt in this new pair either.

I’ve been wearing them for about a month now and they have been perfect from the first time I put my foot in them. They are insulated so they are very warm at first and if there is a complaint I have it might be that.

If you’re on the fence about a good safety boot that is very warm and waterproof this is the boot you should get.

These boots are my second pair. I received a pair of boots but it was not the correct order. But I emailed overlook over the weekend and by Monday morning the correct pair was on its way. I work in a the mining industry and in our pit quarry I’m always in water,mud,gravel,sand, you name it I stepped in it.

The sole of the boot last but the stitching on the top part of the heel didn’t make it like I expected. But then I am in water and or in mud and it dries out fast and takes a big toll on the boot. I bought my first pair in February of 2020 and I just ordered a second pair.

Outside of the top part of the heel becoming exposed it’s not a bad boot for the price knowing it’s going to get beat up 6 days a week. Through all weather conditions. With all the insulation I do order a size bigger and wide so I can insert insoles because I am on my feet the better part of the day.

It is a decent boot for its price not the best outside of the stitching but I did get a rough 10 months out of them and still going until my new pair arrives.

These boots are mostly everything I need out of them. Truly waterproof, thick shank, seemingly well-reinforced in high wear areas; the only controversy is the padding. These aren’t insulated officially, but the lining is thick enough (even with the mesh) to keep them fairly warm within reasonable conditions (probably not so in snow).

This lining seems to go all the way to the toe, which is already small, making these torture to wear with proper work socks. I removed the provided insole for a slightly thinner orthodic to make it bearable, but if the toe box was bigger to accommodate a larger cap, I’d like these a lot more (bet the soft toe version is awesome).

These boots are just what my husband needed. He is difficult to fit for comfort, I have done a lot of shopping. he is on his feet all day and finds them comfortable. only drawback is that for him they only last about 6 months.

and then must be replaced or his knee starts hurting. I do not know if this is normal wear time? We noticed the soles are made of a different substance this time unsure how that will affect things. I have so much appreciated this company and Midwest boot because they are the most pleasant knowledgeable helpful company.

Second pair of these boots. Last a good long time. Comfortable after break in. First pair only problem was the eyes for the laces kept coming out. Had to crimp a few back in myself. Soles and leather held up well.

Could get much longer than a couple years use out of them. So far best boot I’ve had for sheriff’s deputy work.

I have bought 5 or 6 pair of these boot. The last pair I purchased I was disappointed. after 1 month the top of the boot caved in in the front over the toes. I just bought a new pair. It never happened with the previous boots.

Great boots light and comfortable.

I bought a similar pair of Wolverine boots 10 years ago. These are the same size and extra wide, and fit as well as my original pair. I have been wearing them in sub-zero weather, and the Thinsulate in the boots has kept my feet warm.

Finding extra wide boots that fit well is a great benefit.

I am a female welder in Northern Alberta. Unfortunately women’s work wear is consistently made to an inferior quality to men’s work wear. When I am working in -40 north of Fort McMurray, I can’t have my boots fail me.

These boots have been great so far in -30. They fit me about a half size big, as they are probably a size larger than what I need. The lining is really cushy, there is a lot of cushion on the toe and on both sides of the ankle and around the heel.

It feels like marshmallows on your shins and feet. They are so so cushy inside. I usually wear a women’s 6 or 5. 5, a 36 or a men’s 4. 5 or 4. I have a high arch, a narrow ankle and a wide foot (D). I took the smallest size, a men’s 5 and these fit ok.

A bit of ankle slip but snug in the toe. They aren’t a light boot and take a bit of work to walk in. The important part is that they are really really warm and durable.

We have been buying these boots for years. They keep your feet warm no matter how cold it gets. My husband said they are fairly comfortable. He wears them 10 hours a day 5 days a week and he works outside all day.

Really nice they conform to all safety standards. Lightweight for a winter steel toed boot. If you work outside or play outside lots where steel toe is a benefit, these are the ultimate winter steel toed boot.
