20 Best Wipes For Newborns (2022 Updated)

I originally started buying these wipes a little over a year ago when I realized that my daughter has extremely delicate skin and gets rash after rash after rash. Sometimes it even gets so irritated it starts bleeding.

I tried every wipes under the sun, and got those because they say they are basically just water. Well, they are not the best of the best and they are pricey, but they work for my daughter as they are thin, soft and not full of chemicals.

I believe my daughter might be allergic to the chemicals on some wipes and diapers, even the “organic” ones, but that has never been tested. All three of my daughters have skin issues with thick wipes so I much prefer the thin ones.

The reason I bought those was because the daycare I was forced to put my daughter into (I was in the military and had absolute zero choice when it came to daycare) DEMANDED wipes and refused to use cloth diapers because they considered it unsanitary (at home I use gentle cloths and water, and cloth diapers).

And when babies had rashes they would use harsh, wet paper towels which made the rashes much worse, and then once the skin broke, they would send baby home and that had a major negative effect on one’s military career.

So I bought those to save my daughter’s skin as well as my sanity. They are really pricey to give to a daycare that doesn’t care about wasting, but they were what my daughter needed, and for that, I am thankful that I found them.

Also, the daycare refused to leave the wipes in their original packaging and had to open the package to place them in a wipe box, which caused them to dry faster. The packaging is fine, the opening flap doesn’t stay sticky for the whole life of the package but the wipes don’t dry up inside it.

One thing we noticed is that they are difficult to pull one at a time from the package, you often end up with 2 or 3 at a time. Also, when placing those in a diaper bag, they need to be placed with the opening at the top.

Otherwise, they make the other things in the bag wet. Two of the packages I bought a year ago went through a big move from Missouri to New York state, and were in storage for months through the winter.

I was afraid of using them after I got them out of storage, but they did not show any signs of mold and had no odor.

I have been a huge fan of the original WaterWipes as my pediatrician is not a fan of any baby wipes but these are 99. 9% water so I figured they would be ok. They have been working out great for me, so I ordered in bulk to restock.

When opening the boxes to put them away, my MIL noticed the difference in packaging. I read the labels and it seemed like the only difference was the size of the new bags and that the wipes were biodegradable.

Great, I thought, better for the environment. In the wee hours of the morning, during a diaper change, the wipes in my warmer ran out. So I snagged one of the new and one of the old packages to refill it.

I popped the OG in first, then opened the new one and man oh man did I get a whiff of something foul! There was a STRONG CHEMICAL ODOR that I wouldn’t consider putting anywhere near my precious baby’s bum.

This certainly wouldn’t be a pediatrician approved item! Proceeded to do what all mom’s do in the wee hours of the morning, I went down the “new WaterWipes” rabbit hole on the internet. Posts popped up immediatly with many parents experiencing the SAME PROBLEM.

Some poor babies even got horrible skin rashes from the product! I don’t know what terrible oversight happened with WaterWipes, but this needs to be fixed! I will be using dry cotton wipes (Honest Brand) and adding sterile water to them myself until WaterWipes corrects this atrocious misstep.

These wipes have changed for the worse over the last 6 or so months. I assume the R&D team at Water Wipes made some sneaky cost-cutting changes that they thought we just wouldn’t notice, but literally these are nearly unusable now.

The total length of the wipes has shrunk by at least an inch if not more, which for some reason makes them IMPOSSIBLE to get out of our wipes dispenser, and it’s also more difficult to get them out of the package, too — they come out in a big clump of like 4 wipes, and they’re still completely folded up.

When you’re dealing with an emergency poop explosion and holding down a wriggling toddler with one hand, you do not have the luxury of using both hands to painstakingly separate the wipes and unfold them!! These new changes seem like something done to keep lining the pockets of the C-Suite at the expense of the customer.

As others have said, the quality of these wipes is no longer worth the increased cost for less product. Water Wipes is going to lose a lot of customers over these changes and unfortunately I am one of them.

I got a box of these because my usual box of the Up & Up brand wasn’t in stock when I needed them, and I can honestly say I would never get these Pampers wipes again unless they were the only option available.

First the plastic top broke the first time I opened a pack, then the top peeled off completely. Next, the packaging ripped all the way from the “press & peel” center to the edge, leaving the wipes exposed and the packaging utterly useless.

The wipes themselves were already a tangled mess inside, not to mention almost completely dry. Please tell me how you expect to not irritate my child’s sensitive bottom with your sensitive wipes when they’re so dry they don’t even clean adequately.

The second package was less faulty overall, but just as dry. I had to add water to get the wipes even remotely usable. Save your money and buy any other brand. Up & Up works great.

I have used these wipes with my last two children, and have never had any issues with them. I always try them out when I open a new pack, to make sure they’re going to be gentle enough for my baby’s skin.

This pack, was nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. I always use them on my face, and if my face is ok, then I know that my preemie’s bottom will be as well. However, this time, with this pack, my face felt like it was on fire!!! I’m not sure what changes have been made to these wipes and what is now included in that supposedly 1% of pure, but it is not something that I’m willing to use on my baby’s skin anymore.

So gentle on baby and very easy to use with the pop-top! We had tried another brand that was for “sensitive” skin and ended up with quickly reddened skin headed quickly to a diaper rash, but switched back to using these and they helped to alleviate the skin irritation, bringing baby’s skin back to normal.

The wave of the wipes too is very gentle and not too abrasive as some other brand wipes have been. Being mostly water, these wipes are super gentle, easy to use, and still leaves baby clean!.

I recieved water wipes, regular pampers wipes, huggies wipes, and various other brands at my baby shower and in registry welcome boxes. These are the only wipes I will buy! They don’t dry out, you don’t have to rub your baby’s bottom for poop diapers, and it eliminates the need for “water wipes”.

I actually think these are a million times better than those. They are thicker and don’t tear. Buy these and skip any other brands.

These work great for cleaning the face and things like that. Quick use because they dry Presley fast. The packaging makes pulling the sheets out with ease, at times too easy where a whole glob comes out all at once.

But I like the no effort pull. And I like the scent, the softness, and that they are damp and not dripping wet. But I took one star off because my baby got a rash with the first use of them. She was fussy all day because I used them and it gave her a rash.

It isn’t great for sensitive skin. If your baby is allergic to certain diapers then they may be allergic to this. Nothing against the seller, the delivery was on time, fast, and the packaging was awesome and protected.

The product was in great condition. So, if you know that your baby is good with this brand, get them from this seller, great service. Just unfortunately did not work for us.

Maybe nice and affordable but cause extra stress i don’t need. I have a 2 and 3 year old boy. They are high energy and wild. They do not sit still. They have extremely sensitive skin like their mommy and daddy.

They do great at being gentle but when it comes to convenience. its not. When I go to grab a wipe while my boys are fight to sit still. I get a string of wipes. Like I’m preforming a circus act. They come and come and come.

Mind you my boys are covered in poop. Trying to grab the diaper and wipes at the same time im fight to get a wipe. So I whip the long strand of wipes and they just go flying in all directions. I’m forced to use two hands and sacrifice my child’s safety.

Mind you they are wild and thats how I want them to be. My wipes shouldn’t make me look like a clown who studied hard to make a great act in a routine.

I have a son that is special-needs, and he has 3 1/2 years old. I’m still having issues with potty training him, but I’ve use these his entire life and when my oldest was young as well. He has a bad habit of waiting until he is put in his nighttime diaper to poop, which can leave a pretty nasty rash but these are super soft and are way more comfortable for him when I have to change him or clean him after he slept in it for an hour or so.

I even use them for myself when need be. They also work great for make up remover wipes when in a pinch since it’s sensitive and scent less. Doesn’t feel drying at all on my skin. I have them stashed all over my house, in my car, and in my bags.

Absolutely a must have, and definitely the wipes that I recommend to absolutely everyone when they are expecting a child.

I am first time mom and these wipes were the first I purchased. Didn’t have much to compare with until now, when I got Huggies for sensitive skin. Good thing was that they didn’t irritate my son’s skin.

Some people complain about smell or no smell, I honestly am glad there is no added perfume since it would cause irritation. What I didn’t like was how rough they were and how they stick together. So when I have full hands and need to pull just one wipe out it is not happening because you pull them all.

Might seem like a stupid small thing but with Huggies I already feel more efficient because of that. When you hold your little ones poopy butt up in the air with one hand and quickly need and extra wipe, this is the thing you will appreciate the most haha.

My favorite brand of baby wipes by far. They do not irritate the private areas on the body and the fibers used to make it are nice, soft and thick. There’s no scent at all to these. I’ve tried ever single organic baby wipe brand and this is my favorite.

Other organic brands still add ingredients that burn the private areas making you uncomfortable all day long afterwards, ugh. Other organic brands use strange fibers that are hard and rough like an exfoliating cloth for the sensitive private area, not great when you’ve had diarrhea and already in pain.

We always have these as a staple item in all 3 bathrooms in our house. Good hygiene care is important and teaching it to our kids is a must.

Awesome baby wipes. I’m pregnant and definitely gonna use these in June when my baby is born. I received a box of these as a gift from some site, but it’s perfect for my needs and baby’s needs. My other three had such sensitive skin that when using wipes, I couldn’t use anything with alcohol.

These are alcohol free and the ingredient list is short and sweet. Also I think they recently changed the packaging. I used one on my face and it felt amazing. These would be good also for traveling or home bathroom use!.

We have an 8 month old so I buy wipes, a lot. I really don’t have a favorite brand, I’ll usually use whatever as long as they are fragrance free. Currently I am using a pack of babyganics wipes. THEY SMELL HORRIBLE! I can’t even describe the smell…it’s like a weird chemical smell kinda like witch hazel.

Yuck! I will not get these again. I wasn’t impressed with HelloBaby wipes either. They were barely wet so they cleaned nothing. Pampers are good and so are the Walmart brands: Equate and Parents Choice.

I love these wipes! Particularly the fragrance-free ones. But scented or unscented they’re strong, large, thicker than others, pack just the right of moisture, and don’t dry out. One wipe goes a long way! The closure stays closed too! I’ve used extensively on babies and little kids as a nanny.

I have them at home for personal adult use and my elderly mother uses them too. They are gentle on baby and adult skin alike! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that I need the fragrance free and am hoping they come back in stock.

I received this item in exchange for an honest review. These are different from the wipes I typically use for my toddler. Compared to the brand we use the wipes seemed to have a bit less moisture in them which I don’t prefer.

For diaper changes I still prefer something with more moisture. It’s a fragrance free product which typically aren’t my preference and this product is no exception. The actual scent that comes through gives me a medical/hospital vibe which I don’t enjoy.

I know that is the draw for some but it is not my preference.

I have switched wet wipe brands so many times only to discover the ingredients weren’t so healthy after all. I came across Pipette after searching for a wet wipe that was truly nontoxic and wouldn’t break the bank! I’m so happy with these! They smell faintly of aloe Vera or a similar plant material that I like, no rashes on my baby’s skin from them & they’re lovely and strong! I’m so glad they’re not polyester.

I am definitely sticking with Pipette for my baby wipe needs!.

I like that the wipes are made with good ingredient, but they didn’t perform well for me this time. They did not have enough moisture and dried out quickly. They can also be challenging to remove prom package one handed, which is required at times with a squirmy baby.

I feel like the first sample pack I tried a year ago I felt it was better in moisture department, but maybe due to smaller packaging able to hold moisture better?.

These wipes don’t come out of the package well even if you move them to a dispenser. As a result, you end up getting several at a time whether you want them or not. You also often need two hands to separate them, which is difficult when changing a baby.

I also don’t love the watery feel they have. It may be because they are more natural but they don’t move over the skin smoothly. Just not easy to use.

Would recomend to anyone who doesnt want yo wipe with harsh chemicals on their most sensitive parts.

These wipes are the most natural and gentlest wipes in the natural market. The organic chamomile and almond oil leave the skin nourished and the wipes are sturdy for every job. They never irritate even the most sensitive skin.

And I love how they use less packaging than other brands.

For decades I’ve kept baby wipes in my bathrooms for various personal/beauty hygiene uses & for my pets. This is the 2nd purchase of these wipes & unless they just quit making them, I will never use anything else.

Not only are they economical, but they’re excellent quality. The wipes I purchase are scented, but not overly so. They are thick & there’s enough in one pack to last awhile. During the freeze, when I had no access to water, I was very thankful to have them.

I kept suggesting my friends purchase some, because they were at their wits end not being able to bathe or basically clean their younger kids. Maybe TMI, but friends without kids thought the idea was awesome! I also take a pack with me when I go to the beach.

My dog hates to get wet, but I can clean him with wipes. He’s used to this! Sometimes tar washes up on the beach & I can use them to get tar off him in case he gets any on his feet. Overall. they’re perfect for any use.

There was zero reason to change the formula. Sodium Benzoate is an awful carcinogen. Nobody should be using it, alas the FDA says it’s GRAS even though it’s banned in many other countries. In addition it is closely related to aspirin.

If you have an aspirin allergy (as I do) it can cause bleeding, irritation, and other reactions. Unknown aspirin allergies in children can be deadly. The old formula was perfectly fine. These never went bad.

Now there are no wipes made without this dangerous chemical. This is a highly disappointing and unneeded change.

We got started using these on our first baby and have never looked back. By far the cheapest brand you’ll find but at the best quality you can get for the price! You would never know different buying these compared to buying another name brand.

The quantity is also amazing! We have been able to survive on 1 box during the first few months of our childs life. We think only a handful of boxes would be needed to actually make it though the first year.

To begin with, these wipes are absolutely great because it feels like a thick wipe that has water in it, instead of carrying chemicals or alcohol.

It is great that it is fragrance free because many babies and adults are sensitive to fragrances, including myself. I find that some smells to wipes make me sick and the great thing about Seventh Generation wipes is that they have no smell.

I also enjoyed the fact that the wipes are thicker than most baby wipes. So they don’t tend to rip as easily or just be watery as the other ones because of how thin they are. When I used the wipes from Seventh Generation, I was pleasantly happy to feel that the wipes were just the right amount of wetness needed to clean up a dirty diaper, wipe my children’s hands, or even wipe up after they had a snack.

Firstly I really liked the packaging on this item. The colours used are eye catching but soft and are true to the Dove brand. Unfortunately the first time I used this product was to clean a rather messy nappy! The wipes had quite a strong perfumed smell.

This initially put me off as I tend only to use natural products but I went ahead and tried them. The wipes did the job. They cleaned the messy nappy in no time without leaving my little girls bottom wet.

I did have to use a few wipes in this instance but they left no mess behind. I was nicely surprised to see that my little girl had no reaction to these wipes despite me being a little paranoid there would be.

I continued to use these wipes until the pack was finished with no problems whatsoever. I even used this product to clean my makeup brushes and to wipe some spillages. I would strongly consider buying these wipes (depending on price) and I would definitely recommend them to not only other parents but anybody looking for a packet of perfumed but gentle wipes.

I gave this product 4/5 due to the strong perfumed smell.

We really loved this product, from the scent to the softness of the wipes. Wipe Moisture – The first wipe out of the packet was quite dry, but after this they were spot on, with the right level of moisture.

Sometimes wipes can be too dry or too moist, but throughout the pack this was quite consistent. Wipe Texture – Very good. I often find the wipes we use too abrasive after a couple of wipes, as if the moisture has gone leaving a wipe that has quite a rough texture.

The cloth was soft and didn’t seem to dry out. Fragrance – That beautiful scent that you get in all Dove products is used and I really liked it. Packaging – These wipes used the traditional resealable packets and the seal stayed sticky so no loss of moisture in the wipes, which you can sometimes find after the packets have been in use a few days.

The packaging uses the same Dove branding, but I’m not sure if I would automatically recognise them as a baby product on the supermarket shelf as the word ‘baby’ is quite small and the brand association for me is more to do with adult toiletries.

We’ve been using these for forever and they’re definitely my favorite wipes. They’re so soft and have the perfect amount of water content and moisture and keep my baby clean and fresh. They don’t really have much of a fragrance.

They’re getting harder to find but as long as I possibly can I will not ever buy another brand. Love Dove in this house!.

These wipes are very strong first off. Since we all use baby wipes me and mt husband poked our fingers through one to see how tough they were. It took quite a bit of pressure to get through. The scent is faintly sweet, reminds me of the burts bees baby lotion.

I used a wipe on my arm (after a shower without having useda lotion, i suffer from dry skin), i wiped it elbow to wrist to see how drying they were and ti my surprise they my skin actually looked less dry after using a wipe.

So very moisturizing. My ONLY hang up on this product is the price. Its incredibly high for a baby wipe but i understand why they cost so much and if i had to use them for a child with eczema i would feel pretty safe doing so.

These wipes are packaged nicely, the closure is sturdy so they will not dry out as we do not use them up quickly which is excellent. The wipes themselves are thick and soft and the proper amount of moist.

I tried these for removing makeup, doing a camping full-body-wipedown as well as a freshen-up step on my 7 year old. They did not cause any skin irritation and left no film behind, just a nice scentless clean.

I will purchase this product again and recommend to my friends having children.

I have been using the Baby Wipes for years & love them. Yours are my favorite as I am 81 with very sensitive skin with hemmoroids & fissures. Your wipes heal so there is no pain but I have to use one every toilet time.

Other wipes do not come close. But now I notice they are not as thick, have less liquid. And this makes it a little hard to wipe gently. I know others complain about the thickness or lack of liquid and this is so important.

Whether they come out in 1s or 4s I can live with. Your wipes are the only ones that seem to heal me to the point of no pain period. For my condition I need the old thicker & wetter to cover the entire area.

I started looking for the healing wipes from other brands but I began to hurt so bad and nothing healed so you are my my favorite brand.
