15 Best Wired Pathway Lights (2022 Updated)

I really like this series compared to very similar Kichler lights I bought a few years ago. The ones I bought from kichler a few years ago have lamp shades that break easily. My boyfriend accidentally hit one with trash can and lamp shade broke off.

It had 3 metal prongs that break easily. But this series the model 28304 have very substantial light shade brackets that actually screw to the base and about a 1/4″ in thick. They are thick and strong and will take a hammer to break them.

So very happy with my purchase. Also I noticed in several lights all throughout the kichler system that the metal spikes don’t penetrate the wire. I have screwed them and tightened them with tools and still light didnt come on.

So once I took it apart and inspected I can see even though tightened the wire was not pierced. So I took a razor blade to the wire, sliced a piece about 1/8 inch to expose the copper and then reconnected the lights and they all came on.

Also even tho you tighten them they will eventually loosen over time. So my friend recommended that I tape them with electrical tape to help hold it in place so it can’t unscrew it self over time. Btw I have 28 Kichler lights, from spot lights to path lights.

I was very impressed by how well constructed these pathway lights were. Much better than the other brands available in store. Sealed design allows an LED light in a weather protected case. The connection to the wire was the most robust I’ve seen.

The design allows a strong spill of light below while leaking a band of light on top so you can see and admire the light. The only downside is to be careful installing on steep stairs as the bright light is very visible from below.

Lowes makes this model very hard to find on line and its not visible in stores. They also only sell 6 from any one store. If you can get your hands on a bunch, count yourself lucky because these are some of the best constructed lights for the price.

I have other older model Kichler path lights in my yard. These new ones are a different design but are very attractive and functional. By using LED bulbs in all of my path lights I was able to add these four new lights and stay well under the wattage limits of my transformers.

They are a beautiful addition to my landscape design.

I found it to be one of the best values for outdoor 120 VAC pathway lighting that is durable, retains its color, easy electrical wiring, and easy to install. I have placed over 100 of these throughout my landscaping and driveway areas and they offer a muted more traditional and softer look.

Nice light! Perfect amount of light for our new deck. We ordered one and liked it so much we ordered two more for the other side . . . My package arrived on time and was packaged perfectly.

After purchasing a dozen of these to see how they looked along our driveway, I loved the warm spread of light (just using a 2 watt LED bulb) and then followed up with a larger purchase to also use on walkways and pathways and around our deck and pool areas.

The Volt Max Spread Brass Path & Area Light is a quality product, much better than the pagoda type landscape lights that I had previously used. The “hat” directs the light down, so with the standard height stem, one does not see any light shining horizontally, thus eliminating the “airport runway light effect.

” Only the ground below the fixture is illuminated. The retention stakes, into which the base of the stem screws, is long, robust, and should provide excellent support for the lights. It is somewhat tricky to get the retention stake as close to plumb as possible, otherwise the fixture will be leaning.

I recently bought 4 to try them out, and will be buying more to replace my aging existing fixtures. In summary, a high quality product, that provides a esthetic down lighting effect. These fixtures are more expensive than some, but the quality justifies the price.

After much research and planning, I finally decided to take on my outdoor lighting project. During my product research, I discovered Volt. Comparing Volt’s products with others took some time, but Volt came out on top.

Choosing to use the VOLT® G2 Fat Boy Brass Spotlight (Bronze) for illuminating my residence and trees turned out to be a perfect choice. The VOLT® G2 Fat Boy Brass Spotlight (Bronze) gave me the ability to choose the degree of light beam I could use on each structure.

I outfitted my entire landscape with Volt lighting. I would buy the products again but the durability precludes this. I wish I could invest in this company but they are privately held. I have never been more impressed with a retail company in all my life.

The quality of the product, customer service and even the packaging are 5-star, exceptional! If every company modeled themselves after Volt, the consumer would benefit. I purchased my equipment in 2017 and everything is running strong! I called customer service for 2 replacement parts (brass fasteners) and they offered to ship them as a courtesy.

no charge!! If you ever go public Volt. I will be in on the IPO.

good looking. on one, bulb did not fit well. e mailed Volt on sunday. monday morning already had the reply ,they shipped new one no questions asked. 3 days later had replacement. this is exceptional.

I had an existing set, purchased from Home Depot. They do not carry this set any longer in my area. The light is an integrated LD, no bulb to change, i wanted some spares to add to my existing set or when one does burn out.

I chose to purchase this product as it was a better deal that what Id get in a large do-it-yourself store. What I discovered to my surprise when I opened the box was that 2 of the 6 pathway lights had defective connectors.

However they also included a kit with two good connectors that could be spliced onto the pathway light wiring. Overall, the product is good and functional.

Great value on this quality made light set. These should last for decades with the all metal construction.

These outdoor lighting lamps are ideal for walkways and in-garden lighting. I purchased this set as an addition to having more than 24 lights already in place. The LED’s are long lasting and the mushroom lamp look really good in the landscape.

I use a larger transformer so all the lights are on that and come on and off at the same time.

Chose this for a client’s landscape lighting. I love the look. But over time gardner’s hoses, etc. make them crooked. The steak at the base is plastic and seems cheaper than the overall look of the light.

But I’ll use them again.

So glad to have found these fixtures. The design is clean and contemporary. The powder coat finish color is perfect with the simple handrail just adjacent. Nice feature of tall stems, coming up to pool light over stairs/cheek walls.

Bought these lights on Amazon. They were perfect. Loved that I could dim them and change the colors. Fast forward 3 months and they no longer work properly. The lights will turn on 1x by plugging in.

They will no longer change colors. If you unplug them and plug them back in, they will not turn back on for hours. Very disappointing.

Very nice light. Motion sensitively is very good. They are bright. Does the job very well. A bit pricey but very well made. I would no expect them to ever break down!!

Although this light will not illuminate a large area, it is more than adequate to light entry ways. It is small enough that it’s appearance isn’t obtrusive.

I was very much surprised when these items arrived. I decided I was tired of replacing the big-box hardware store items every few years. Looking around at the many options I decided that Volt offered the most options and the lifetime warranty, just can’t be beat.

It seemed like a gamble, but I’m approaching an age wherein the ongoing maintenance of the big box Malibu, et al, just were too much trouble to keep operational. On to Volt with tons of different fixtures, lens, led bulbs, etc.

The order was expensive, so I tried just two items on the first order, plus a couple of risers. I hooked this item up and was fully impressed. SOooo much so, that the very next day I ordered a full complement of items for our home.

Path lights, down lights, up lights, ground lights, wiring hubs, and many more items. All are of the same quality. I’m now in the process of installing them all, its a lot of work to rebury new cabling and get the proper placement of the lighting.

But, I’m only half way through the process and am already quite impressed. Most important to me is the quality of the items. They are well thought out with good sealing gaskets, lock nuts, solid risers, and proper shades to get the appropriate effect.

Replacement parts after Hurricane Ian damage. When new the quality appears much better than they actually are. After 2-years in the FL weather the corrosion and pitting should be unacceptable. A better finish should be used.

Ordered 2 of the 12″ shades and needed one more not quite so big so ordered the 9″. Excellent quality, well thought out installation/set-up. I owned a lighting showroom in the early 90’s when residential landscape lighting was becoming popular and there was nothing of this caliber available.

I have purchased Kitchell or lights for over 20 years. The quality of their path lights as diminished considerably over time. I have had three path lights break off at the base of the stem and the effort takes to remove the LED top from the stem during the replacement of the stem makes it nearly impossible to quickly change out a broken stem.

Instead, I have to remove the fixture return it for warranty and go reinstall a new fixture. Even though the light mechanism itself is fully functional failure in the staff. I will now be changing my future purchases flights to other competitive brands.

However, I do appreciate the silicone quick snap connectors that are included with these fixtures. If Kitchener can solve use your stamps at the thread point then their product will be worth recommending.

They looked nice for probably 6 months, then one bulb burnt out and another path light started looking oxidized. On another the bolt that attaches the lamp shade to the path light broke. What is most frustrating is you cannot buy replacement parts.

So you have to pay for another full light just to replace the glass fixture.

Fixture and durability is great. Did not come with a bulb and have not had time to run to dealer and get one. Wish it had one with the sample so it is ready for display. Don’t know what the illumination is like.

You will not get a kit this complete and of this quality for this price anywhere else. Everything you need to do a good amount of landscape lighting is included. The transformer is heavy duty and included a timer with photocell.

The lights all have 25 leads, and the transformer wire is a 100 roll. The kit includes the bulbs, which are a nice 2700K quality. The light fixtures are well made and feel durable. There is nothing difficult about the installation, other than the usual – how to get wires past /under obstacles.

A few important notes:-The transformer has a 5 cord. You shouldnt add an extension cord to this, so plan to mount the transformer within 5 of an outside outlet. -Volt says to install the 2 hubs no farther than 50 from the transformer, and the lights within 25 of a hub, so layout all your lighting and move things around before burying wire.

-MOST important. The photocell seems sensitive on the initial setup. Mine did not want to come up, even when I covered it with a black bag. To kick start it, turn the transformer off then back on. Then set the timer to Dusk/Dawn.

Next, shine a flashlight directly on the timer for about 5 minutes. After that, set the timer to what you want, 2 hours, 4 hours, etc. The photocell should turn on at dusk and stay on for the number of hours you set.

My sole complaint is, if you want to mount the transformer on the stakes, they screw onto the transformer post, so you need to screw them on, then use a block of wood etc. to gently tap the stand into the ground, and then mount the transformer.

There is no way to pound in the stakes first, due to the two screw on post mounts. I ran conduit under my mulchbed and around shrubs so I could protect the wires. While they are direct bury, I wanted the extra comfort of knowing so digging would not cut them.

If you do this, you can fit 3 light cables easily even in a smaller 1/2 Schedule 40 PVc pipe. I used a combination of the 1/2 PVC and 3/4 flexible, with some PVC elbows. Th.

These lights were a breeze to install. The brass is extremely gorgeous. The bulbs are bright and a really nice warm color see photo. Im no electrician, but I easily set these up. Its fool proof. Youd have to be extremely incompetent to mess it up.

Honestly. My only complaint, is that the threaded section at the base of the down-lights/walkway lights is kinda weak. I snapped one off without even trying, which means I cant screw it into the spike that goes into the ground.

Im sure volt would have sent me a new lamp, they seem like a good company, but I just buried the lamp a few inches deeper in the rocks and it was fine. Overall, 5 stars. These are beautiful landscape lights.

Purchased two complete sets: Invested 2K and I am an average middle class woman w/ average home who wanted to stand out in my average neighborhood. I wanted a company that soldquality, sturdy products to landscape professionalsthat would stand the test of time- if you want cheap- this is not your product.

Design options were important. Customer service has always been available. Yes, I personally broke a light bulb and I was sent a free of charge replacementAs far as installation: Depends on how dramatic you desire your lighting to look,and your lay out.

Naturally, one needs to pre-plan the layout -like you would a sprinkler system. Spend one daythen rest on your Laurels. The only negative The Timer:the second set had a digital timer vs a simple pin tab timer.

It requires 2 people to set One to read the directions- very slowly with magnifying glass if you are over 35 and the other to set the timer. Way way to many options-and I still can not get the correct day light savings turn on.

I bought this expansion kit to add along a walkway to our patio. We had the walkway added when we rebuilt our patio and the lights match the Volt lights we had around the original patio. The hub that Volt includes in the kit makes connecting the 4 lights together a snap.

The lights look great and do a nice job lighting up the new walkway.

Great quality product with great price for all the items. Originally wanted smaller shade size and stronger light, but couldn’t pass up the price of kit. Was also looking at doing something on the walls, but with the 16′ light coverage of path lights, decided that lights on the wall weren’t needed.
