20 Best Wireless Snes Controller (2022 Updated)

Ive been using this controller exclusively with my switch for almost a month now, and to say the truth, I love it. Its well built, it doesn’t feel flimsy, plus its about the right size as an actual SNES controller (its a bit thicker, and a tad heftier on account of the added components – analogs, vibration, motion controls, bluetooth, extra buttons), but it does the job well.

This controller always syncs right up with my switch, and has a home button as well as a working capture button. However, it cannot wake the console up. Im not sure if this is due to the fact that its a third party device, or if there is some missing update, but i think thats the only flaw.

Now, mind you, im not a hard core gamer and I bought this because I enjoy retro gaming, and love the way it looks (plus the cheaper price point helped!). The battery has excellent life; I think it took around a week of playing for it to finally give out after the original charge I gave it.

It has some cons tho, the smaller size will cramp your hands after extended play (or at least they do mine), but by extended i mean over 3 hours, which is not usual for me. The motion controls seem on point, i tested them mainly on Zelda BOTW, and the analogs are precise enough, the vibration is NOT HD rumble.

Its a regular vibration like you would find on an xbox or playstation controller, but thats fine by me. It also does NOT have NFC, but really if you have a switch, the joycons already have NFC so this shouldnt be a real sticking point.

It includes a USB-C to A charge cable thats rated USB 2. 0. I would not recommend using it to charge your switch or to hook up your switch to your PC (as the switch wont recognize the cable properly), I left mine hooked up to my dock and use it strictly for charging the controller as it was intended.

I think the biggest pro for me on this controller is its size. It makes it very portable, and I can easily pop it into one of the pockets in my backpack with no bulging issues. It wont fit in my switch carry case, but i think thats also due to the fact that my carry case is quite compact (it barely fits the wrist straps and a USB-C cable.

All in all, I do highly recommend this controller. It is specially good for retro gaming, but will play well with most game types, and its much cheaper than the Switch Pro controller.

I can not overstate my happiness with this controller. Before I go into detail, in short, the ergonomics are perfect, its got a nostalgic feel that covers more bases than just the snes (this is important) and, as a Nintendo Switch owner, its got all the features I could ask for.

Buy this controller! Its definitely a better value than the pro controller, by far. Personally, Im a small-handed guy. Id had no qualms using the joy cons since launch. But this controller, oh man; it fits in my hands like a puzzle piece.

I was worried at first that the lack of grips would be a downside, but it is no worse without them; in fact it might be better, in my opinion. The inside of my hands perfectly wrap around the outside, the analog sticks are in a much more comfortable position to rest ones thumbs, and what you may not expect ties it all together are the raised circles on the bottom of the controller.

They give your middle fingers just enough to hold onto and give your grip that perfect amount of stability. This was a great decision on 8BitDos part, as without them it would be a far less comfortable design.

Well done. And this ties into my next point; The SN30 Pro G has an incredibly nostalgic feel in more ways than youd expect. Yes, it resembles a SNES controller with an original Gameboy D-pad, but more than that I believe that this is the perfect callback to a PS1 Dualshock controller.

The proof is in the pudding. I cant describe it well enough in words, but the feel of the buttons, the specific, round tension and release of the shoulder buttons, click of the thumb sticks, and squishiness of the start/select button especially, just SCREAMS PS1 to me.

If you dont believe me, I grew up playing the early 3D consoles like the N64 and PS1 and sunk countless hours into playing Crash Bandicoot 3, so much so that the action of skid-jumping was etched into my tiny brain.

Before I bought this controller I deemed that the N. Sanity collection just wasnt a good remake, as there was always something that felt missing. Playing it now with the SN30 Pro G I found what was missing.

Now it feels like Im playing the original again. If you grew up on the SNES or the Gameboy Im hard pressed to say youll feel the same way too. 8BitDo truly covered all their bases in this controllers design.

Its shaped like a SNES Controller, has a Gameboy D-Pad, a PS1 DualShock layout and feel, and the font and label design just says something 80s to me. like. a Commodore 64? Not that Id know about that, haha.

This controller is as retro as retro can get and despite all this it is still comfortable as hell to hold and use. The face buttons and D-pad take a little getting use to, but regardless I cannot recommend this controller enough.

Using this with a RetroPie setup. It is pretty awesome with NES, SNES, PC Engine, etc. as the “trigger” is not required. Works, but not well, with N64. The location of the trigger at the end of the shoulder button is a bit awkward.

The controller feels solid and works great. The analog sticks are a bit on the small side but work great. 8BitDo seems to be about on the same level as Buffalo controllers. Definitely worth spending more to get a good emulation controller.

I really like the look and feel of this controller. Especially for playing the retro SNES and NES games on Nintendo switch online. My only complaint about this control is that it has an old USB plug.

I wish it had usb C. I like to plug in my controls directly to my switch to play in table top mode and I have to carry an adapter to plug this directly to my switch. It’ll connect to the dock but I don’t use it for that.

Other than that, this control feels great. The joysticks feel like PlayStation joysticks, the dpad is very nice and responsive and so are the buttons. All in all, I think this control is an excellent value.

If you want a wired control at a great price than I recommend this to you.

The DPad has been a staple of Nintendo’s for a while now,and this controller really embraces the legacy. It pairs easily, and is very responsive. The build quality is excellent, and you’ll be glad to learn that it has concave and convex buttons just like the original SNES controller.

Only issue I’d have is the manufacturer warranty and support, but the controller itself is stable and very high quality. I would recommend purchasing protection just in case, however. Comes with USB-C and is compatible with everything through wire and Bluetooth.

The grip may feel weird to some, but for kids who grew up with the dogbone it’s easy to use, and for someone like me who didn’t grow up with the odd shape i found adapting to it very easy as well, definitely better than adapting to a wiimote, joycon, or even a mobile phone.

All in all, it’s a very quality controller and I would recommend at it’s price point for anyone who plays 2D games that utilize the Dpad, or anyone who enjoys the PlayStation stick symmetry. Not the best for games that require more precise 3D inputs like shooters, as the analog sticks are only slightly larger than those on the joycons, but if you’re on the market and play a lot of SNES games or fighters, it’s definitely a good controller to have.

Portability is a plus too, as it’s tiny size makes it the perfect on the go controller.

8BitDo really need to give this product a different model number, it’s significantly different than the other SN30 Pro models and it’s very misleading. The Best Buy product name says it’s for Android/PC, but it’s really only meant for Android.

It only lets you use DirectInput (dinput), which works fine for Android but is not great on PC. You either have to map all the buttons yourself in whatever game or software you’re using, or get additional software convert it to xinput.

Other SN30 Pro models let you choose protocol: DirectInput (best for Android), xinput (best for PC), MacOS, or Switch. When you choose xinput it works with PCs and PC games out of the box. Microsoft developed xinput to supersede dinput alongside the launch of the Xbox 360, so it’s wild that this Microsoft-licensed controller doesn’t support xinput while the other SN30 Pro models do.

Very solid for use with XCloud and games on mobile designed to work with a controller. Clips on easy, very sturdy, and the buttons feel good. The clip isn’t the easiest thing to take with you on the go, since its very oddly shaped and doesn’t fold up flat, so if you’re looking for something that you can put in a pocket to have a handheld gaming experience on the run its a little cumbersome, unless you have a bag or something that you can store the clip in.

Battery life is surprisingly good as well for something so small. I would not recommend for someone looking to do game streaming from your PC using Steamlink or an app like Parsec. For some odd reason, the PC does not read the controller inputs right, it gets several of the buttons swapped and can not seem to find the ‘resting’ position of the triggers.

The problem only occurs when streaming from a PC, and happens regardless of what mobile device I’m testing with. I believe it to most likely be a driver issue, but unfortunately driver support for this device is basically non-existent.

So to recap, yes for those looking to play games from Xcloud or games designed for mobile, no for anyone looking to use their mobile for game streaming from their PC.

Pros: – Analog-sticks with buttons and trigger buttons expand compatibility to most game genres. – Bluetooth functionality is great with imperceptible delay, providing your device maintains a good Bluetooth connection.

– Can be used in wired mode via the provided USB cable for the lowest possible delay. – Buttons are affirmative and tactile with just the right amount of required force and little travel-time. – Jam packed with features and functionality, including rumble, motion controls and the ability to work with practically anything with a Bluetooth receiver or USB port.

– Good ergonomics and weight. – On-going firmware support via a Windows/Mac-OS application. – Long lasting battery charge. Cons: – Positioning of trigger buttons and analog-sticks may take getting some used to, particularly if you have larger hands.

– Tactility and feel of the buttons, while great, aren’t identical to the original SNES controller, which may be a concern for purists. – At 35-40, the price may be prohibitive but in my opinion, the price is certainly justified.

An absolute steal if you can find it on sale. Notes: The SF30 Pro is one of 3 variants of the same design, alongside the “SN30 Pro SN” and “SN30 Pro G Classic”. If you’d prefer a different look or are struggling to find a particularmodel in-stock, consider one of the others.

These are listed and presented as if they are officially licensed Nintendo Joy-Cons, but they are not. They are cheap, poorly made, knock-off garbage that I wouldn’t use if I was paid to. I was immediately suspicious when they arrived because they were not in a Nintendo box.

Very similar looking but nowhere on the packaging does it actually say Nintendo Switch or Joy-Con. At first glance, they look almost exactly like the real deal but just picking them up and pushing a few of the buttons quickly gives them away.

They are much lighter, the buttons and joysticks are pretty rough, and they just feel cheap in your hands. Once they were connected to my switch these $60 controllers didn’t even work half as well as the $20 pair of knockoffs I had gotten them to replace.

There was a noticeable delay with the majority of the buttons. The home button wouldn’t wake up my console half the time. I also had to turn off the vibration because they slightly vibrated randomly every so often and the times they actually vibrated when they were supposed to the feeling was closer to an old power drill that’s about to explode as opposed to a well-balanced pair of dual shocks.

I would give these zero stars if I could. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. These controllers are trash that are nowhere near the quality expected from Nintendo. I will be returning these and purchasing replacements from another retailer since apparently, Walmart is so desperate to become the new Amazon they don’t properly vet what is being sold on their website.

These joysticks start getting drift and becoming non responsive way faster than any other controllers I’ve had from different consoles. Playing crash bandicoot is difficult because I don’t feel they are as sensitive as PS4 controllers.

For the price point, it seems like we are getting ripped off here. The only good thing is that you can send them in for repair which Nintendo does very quickly in my opinion. I like that they offer some fun colors in these and that they are very easy to use.

I do wish they made bigger ones. I’m pretty small (5’2) and sometimes my hands cramp up I’ve I’m playing animal crossing for too many hours. Overall, I’ve owned a switch for almost 5 years and I’ve gone through 3 pairs and had them repaired through Nintendo.

This is my fourth pair so we’ll see how long it lasts before needing repair. Each pair I’ve purchased previously has ended up with drift issues. You’ll need these controllers because you can’t play your switch without them but they’re not great and I wish Nintendo would release something way better but oh well.

We’ve had our Switch for 2 years now and the original set of controllers lasted until now. Luckily I had a Target circle offer and purchased a new set for 30% off. Nintendo offers a free joycon repair program and costs you absolutely nothing.

So they will be fixing our other set which is fantastic. Any other gaming console you have to keep buying new controllers when they fail and they offer no repair programs. For how much our controllers get used and they are shaken around a lot from active games, I’m surprised they lasted 2 years.

I love that they’re slim and lightweight so your hand doesn’t hurt from holding them. Besides buttons slowly stopping to work after 2 years of everyday use, I’m very satisfied with them!.

Pros: The shipping was very fast, got it after 7 days The controller is very well-designed, sturdy and solid. Very comfortable to hold, can play game for hours (I have a small hand btw). Almost all buttons are clicking and snapping, very responsive.

The connection is good. No lag or disconnection so far (only try with my laptop and android phone). There are some works you have to do at first when having the controller is update the firmware,but it is very easy, and 8bitdo also has instruction on YouTube.

It was not bother me that much. The cons: The D-pad. It sucks that the controller’s D-pad is not good even thought everything is amazing. You have to press harder to move your character certain way. So it may not be the best choice to play retro game or fighting games that involve playing the D-pad alot.

My hand get tired very easily when trying pressing the D-pad. The way to connect with different device. You have to remember every button you need to press for connecting with certain device (e. g. phone: START + B).

So if you have multiple device, you have to remember all the patterns. But it is just a little nip pick. It did not bother me that much. And there is an instruction to connect every device at the back of controller.

Overall, very good controller. I would recommend for everyone that love the old-school retro style controller.

So happy to have a modern controller where the DPad is a first class citizen. Have had no issues configuring it to play games on Steam and DOSbox on MacOS. Also quickly tested it on a few titles on Kindle Fire with good results and little effort.

So far a very positive experience functionally, and dont get me started on how beautiful it is.

It is the perfect precision pad for things like fighting games or platformers and RPGs. The ergonomics of dpad, RL and the face buttons are superb. The only gripe I have is that it is hard to rest four fingers on the RL/R2/L2 buttons at the same time and keep gripping the controller.

Especially If you are using the analog stick at the same time. So playing some intense Third Person or 1st Person 3D games may require some getting used to compared to simpler genres. You could probably lose grip of it while trying to perform certain moves in Zelda or Wolfenstein II.

well the wireless works just fine and syncing it up was painless. it fits comfortably in my hands and it works fine. the only thing I don’t like is the feel of the buttons and dpad. it behaves like a membrane keyboard and the buttons and dpad feels a bit squishy when pressed, where an original controller is much more springy like a mechanical keyboard.

I was 100% happy with the prompt delivery and shipping with the seller, and the controller is a solid value, but since i grew up with a SNES it just feels off.

I own one already and these are just awesome controllers, actually my favorite out of dozens. A definite must have for the SNES, has same response as a wired snes controller.

Not bad at all lil hard to figure out to set up. I went by the paper that didn’t work then I called they pretty much told me the same thing that didn’t work u can’t go by neither one so I turned it on and to set it up y’all need redo instructions for it.

Back in the days of playing Super Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat with your friends on your SNES, the original Hori Super Fighting Commander was a gem to possess. I still have and use mine. Now the iconic controller has been brought back to life for the classic mini generation of Nintendo consoles, with updates.

Besides of the 6 face buttons, the L and R shoulder buttons were added, which were absent from the original Hori SFC, so that’s a nice option. Needless to say, another upgrade is the fact that it is now wireless.

Not only that, but from a personal perspective, better than most at that, because it uses a normal AA battery port. I prefer that because you can simply buy rechargable batteries and discard them once it doesn’t hold any charge, then buy a new pair.

With build-in batteries, you have to open the controller and sometimes even solder new ones, once they reached the end of their life, which they do eventually. So yeah, in short, it’s great controller, by a great brand.

Hori makes some of the coolest controllers ever, and they have been doing so since the NES days. The price is great too, and you can use this on the Wii and Wii U Virtual Consoles and even PC via a Wii Pro Controller adapter to USB, to play with emulators.

If you have any fighting games i.e. Street Fighter, then you need this pad, not for the turbo functions or any other do-da’s it might have imbued. But just for the ease of use on the button lay-out.

Not great for SFII! Not as sensitive as original pads. Great for Mario Kart/F-Zero etc. Wireless works great.

Very happy with the controller. It has a quality and solidity that mirror the OEM controllers from Nintendo that they’re clearly inspired by. The feel of every button and analog stick is spot-on. Many knock-off controllers feel cheap, are flimsy or have buttons that lack that quality feel of the OEM controllers from Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, Sega and others from past to present.

8Bitdo’s become renowned for products that are solid. You look up any video review on YouTube and they’ll tell you what they think and run through how easy they are to pair. I own a Steel Series Stratus XL which is a fantastic controller in it’s own right with a great build quality.

It’s not remotely as compatible or has the ease of pairing that this controller has. Both controllers have build quality that will rival ANY console vendor’s hardware. The 8Bitdo controllers continually update firmware and improve their products.

They care about retro gaming and create some innovative content. I use mine on a Raspberry Pi model 3 with a copy of Retropie installed. They’re paired via Bluetooth which is something my Steel Series wasn’t capable of doing.

I’m still very happy with the Stratus XL but am glad I only bought one of them as my primary goal was to use it in Retropie. Instead I pair it with my computer for when I want to run an emulator on it.

8Bitdo has worked with the community in the past with updated firmwares to meet the Retropie audience halfway. They’re a company to definitely support with patronage and stand behind.

I originally bought this for use with my NES. I bought the Blutooth adapter and it immediately paired up. The problem is that the buttons arent mapped properly on the controller. Y is B and B is A. The buttons are completely mappable with any other device EXCEPT NES.

It does however give you Turbo Options of each button. X is Turbo B and A is Turbo A. It was easy to get used to so its really not the hugest deal. Just think its strange they designed thet thing to look like a Nintendo Controller and got it the buttons wrong.

One thing I was worried about was using the Joysticks on the NES. Sometimes Joysticks dont transfer over well but not this one. I was able to juke out my friends on Tecmo Super Bowl and I actually feel like I was a better Super Mario Player while using the Joystick.

The NES30 PRO really shined when using it on my Android Phone and Tablet. I was using it for NES, SNES, GEN Emulators and it works perfectly!.

This is an amazing product. Works just as well as it looks! Has that classic NES look, with dual analog sticks and R1/R2/L1/L2 buttons added. The analog sticks also push in as a button, same that you’ll find in any Xbox or PS controller.

The buttons are very responsive and there is zero input lag. The bluetooth works well and the battery life is great too. Connected instantly to my Galaxy S3 via bluetooth as an input controller and worked flawlessly with every emulator I have, no button mapping or calibration necessary.

I was going to get the SNES30 or the SFC30 or even the T3+ because they’re cheaper, but I’m glad I sprung for the NES30 PRO. Now I can play every game with a proper controller instead of touch screen buttons.

Worth the money – Highly recommended!.

Easy plug n play controller. Plug the wireless adapter in, turn the SNES/Wii on and hit the connect button, couldn’t be any easier. The one downside is it does run on AAA’s instead of being rechargeable, but I don’t play often enough to really warrant the extra money on higher priced controllers, so this works fine for me.

I don’t notice any input lag and all the buttons feel very responsive like the original controllers, the D pad rolls the way it should so you don’t have to lift your thumb to press another direction like you would on much cheaper controllers.

My Arcade did a good job on this.

Followed directions and alert card that came w/ it multiple times trying to get the controller and dongle to connect when using on a new SNES classic mini. Batteries were fresh. Dongle kept blinking “paring” but never would connect.

Of all the wireless controllers I’ve gone through for my SNES mini these are by far the best ones. With the turbo function, home menu button, and great wireless range and connectivity they can’t be beat.

I highly recommend them to anyone wanting wireless controllers for their SNES mini.

Growing up in the 90’s my mother NEVER let me play video games. The only system I ever owned was a SNES my cousin smuggled into my house during a family get-together. I only ever brought it out when my mom wasn’t home and had a whopping 5 games to play (Super Mario World, Mighty Morphing Power Rangers, The Lion King, Super Bases Loaded 2, and Aladdin).

We didn’t have the internet, so the time spent with my SNES was my only time with technology. As time went on my SNES began to sit under my bed more often, as my attention was diverted to sports, music, and girls.

I took for granted the time spent with my SNES and eventually gave it away to my friend who is an avid video game collector. Fast forward to 2019- I’m now married and making good money. While discussing the wonders of having grown up in the 90’s with a friend I remembered my secret SNES and made the split-decision to buy another one! This is the point of the story where the controller comes into play.

Once the hard grey and purple plastic was back in my hands, 23 years after having initially made contact, I literally welled up with tears of joy. Nostalgic memories from my childhood came flooding back as I mashed buttons to make Simba eat grubs.

I finally got my hands on a used SNES after my mom gave it away when I was 11. I’m in my 30’s now. I needed controllers though! Luckily these are just as good as the original! Gotta go play Super Mario Kart with my 13 year old son now 😁.

The keyword here, however, is ‘near’. The controller works wonderfully and is compatible with all of my SNES and SNES clone machines, but I wouldn’t call it an exact replica of the original. It lacks some weight and the buttons have slightly different densities and push back to the the original.

If you are used to a Super Nintendo controller, I’m not going to say its jarring at first, but after a level or two at Super Mario World you can’t tell the difference. No lag to be found and is fully compatible and working right out of the box on classic hardware, with the standard 7-Pin SNES controller connector.

Wonderful deal and arrived in producers’ box.

Really great controller, everything feels exactly as it should, there’s only one problem: it doesn’t have a home button. Nintendo learnt from this and added it to the N64 and Sega controllers released later but the problem is you can’t turn on the Switch with it or exit anything besides the SNES app.

So you need another controller, turn it on, turn on the SNES controller, go into the controller settings, then reassign the controllers to make the SNES one player one. The alternative is to just turn on the console with the button on top, but if you’re in another game you’ll need a different controller again to exit it to be able to select the SNES app.

If you want the nostalgia feel then these aren’t deal breakers at all as once you’re in the SNES app you’ll have all you need. It’s just a minor inconvenience at the start of most game sessions.

The controller is genuinely very good in capturing the feel of the original Super Nintendo controllers and is a great way to play the games that are included on the NES & SNES applications. One thing that is very disappointing is the lack of “Home” & “Capture” buttons on the controller.

These could easily have been added discretely along the top or back of the controller in grey in order to not stand out and keep the original look. The “ZR” & “ZL” buttons do allow this when using the apps mentioned above, but not when using the controller with other games.

Heading to the button mapping menu, I was hopeful I could assign the buttons to help with this, but alas, the Switch menu does not allow you to remap this controller which is disappointing. So, to summarise, this is a great little controller that is a must for fans of the original Super Nintendo control pad.

If Nintendo are smart, they will allow button mapping to be reassigned or allow you to hold “Select” & “Start” or a similar combination in order to go back to the Home Screen of the Switch console. Come on, Nintendo.

Just a few small updates and this is a must.

Excellent controller. The D-Pad is far better than the pro controller and especially joycons. Works on other systems like PC etc with a Bluetooth dongle. Its very very close in feel to the original SNES pads, the only percievable difference is its very slightly more textured plastic on the back.

The SNES Mini classic controlelrs didn’t have this issue. But in any case, this is a very faithful recreation of my second favourite joypad of all time, and its a must have for anyone playing retro style games on the Switch – not just uper Nintendo Online, but any game that doesn’t require an analogue stick will work.

(Which makes it even more annoying that Zelda Link’s Awakening doesn’t let you use the D-Pad! Grr. But thats a different story!) :P.

This is just a really nice item. It comes in slick packaging, and it’s a true 8-bit throwback(with additional platform buttons obviously). Is even comes with a cool keychain that calls out its throwback status.

Instruction manual is color, and also great qualityt(not that bluetooth pairing is difficult, it took me 3 seconds). 2 Thumbs way up!.

I bought two FC30 controllers to use primarily with my NES and Famicom (model 2) consoles. I love the design and feel of the original Famicom controllers and I’ve wanted to find a way to play my NES with Famicom controllers for years.

Finally 8BitDo offered a good solution. Earlier this year I tested the NES30 controller at a convention and I was extremely impressed at how similar to the official NES controller it felt. The same thing goes for the FC30.

These feel almost exactly like the original Famicom controllers. The D-Pad however is a bit wonky. For example performing crouch-slides in Super Mario Bros. (1 & 3 tested), is a bit tricky, but doable.

Otherwise things to note is that syncing the controller with Wii, Wii U, iPad (for use with SNES dot Emu) and other non-8BitDo adapters is really tricky and I still haven’t been able to successfully connect and use the controllers with the consoles mentioned.

Even after performing firmware updates on both the controllers, they don’t seem to sync with those consoles. All in all I can strongly recommend these controlllers if you want to use them for casual play of NES and SNES titles on the original hardware using 8BitDo receivers, or If you want to use them with a PC.

Otherwise, I’d advice to at be prepared for a lot of frustrationand possibly not even being able to achieve the wanted result.

The controller itself is quite responsive and well built for the price. I do have a few issues with it however. I do find it a tad small for my hands. They’re not massive by any means but this controller is quite little compared to many others.

It can become uncomfortable over time. The shoulder buttons are also placed in an uncomfortable spot. The D pad isn’t the most accurate either. It’s very easy to hit two sides when trying to go straight.

Though even with these shortcomings, it’s still a pretty good controller.

These controllers are terrific! The weight is perfect, the placement of the buttons is spot on, and the response time is precise. They seem to be very high quality. I was looking for controllers that were as close to authentic SNES controllers as possible, and these fit the bill perfectly.

I am very pleased with them.

I was really surprised by the build quality of these controllers (in a good way!). Wireless is totally the way to go if you want to throw your Retropie build behind the TV. Button mapping was effortless.

You can go and shop around for a cheaper gamepad, but I think you’d be rolling your dice in an attempt to save a few bucks. I’d totally buy these again.

Stumbled across Vilros while looking for a wireless SNES controller for my RetroPie. The were shipped and arrived at my house in less than five business days. Very easy to install. The controller will turn itself off if left idle for too long to conserve the battery which is a very welcome suprise.

High quality controllers for a low cost. Five stars.

I find these controllers very similar to the original. The buttons are a little different but still work very well. I would recommend as buying original controllers are a little pricey. They work if you’re okay with not having the real deal.

A good controller for snes. Bought 2 and am very satisfied. Feels like the original controllers with same reaction speed etc. Comes a little stiff on the dpad but within about 2 hours of play it starts to be just right.

We thought we were getting genuine SNES Controllers because of the labeling on the box. Not the case. These controllers are knock off- refurbished controllers. They don’t say SNES on them like my original ones and you can tell they have been used.

Definitely not new. Oh well. Live and learn.

With a Retron 5 you definately need an extra wireless controller. Some games require both controls so if your able to snap one up on Ebay then I do recommend it. IF you want to play four player games (ie Gauntlet, Gauntlet 2, ) you need to accumulate four of these bad boys.

Yes you can use wired controllers (2) with the Retron but you cant hook up a Fourscore to this unit. The Rerton is capable of four wireless at one time. SO if you like old school retro 2-3-4 player games.

buy the extras when you can.

Bluetooth controller? Check! Mapping buttons for older games? Check. Good hand fit? Check! All around, a very good controller. Perhaps not as comfortable as those on the PS4 and XBox but still very nice over all.

Not too big, nor too small and very responsive. Intuitive so that after a few minutes play, you will fall right back into that old gaming experience. I highly recommend if you don’t want cords.

I first looked to buy a plug-in controller. The wireless one I have not been able to sinc with the console. My son likes the Retron 5 and would like to play it again.

Pros: *Feel and texture is very original SNES like. *Very responsive, very little input lag if any. *Was able to pair to my (android) tablet, (android) phone, and computer all with out any issues. *pairing 2 to my (android) phone, (android) tablet, or computer results in two controllers working perfectly fine.

This was a big question I had before buying the product that didn’t seem easily answered. (I was further worried when I read about the iOs exclusive multi controller support, which I guess might just be more of an iOs thing that I wouldn’t know about.

) Cons: *D-pad allows for all directions to be pressed at once, while this is nothing too major, this does cause a few announces. The main one being, is often when pressing any direction it is possible to get another direction out of no where.

For example, when holding left sometimes your on screen character will move up. This is sort of a bummer, but the price keeps me from really complaining on this one.

Glitches often. Newest firmware doesnt help. Ive had several 8bitdo SNES controllers including their DIY ones and they all get laggy after a while. Completely screws me up. Perhaps I am the problem here, but I cant figure out how I am messing things up.

Random disconnects are the worst. Ugh! I really dont know what to do different. This is my 8th 8bitdo controller and youd think I would have learned my lesson by now, but I am just a hard headed optimist for sure.
