20 Best Women’S Boxer Brief (2022 Updated)

The Baller style is a great all-purpose choice and the best option for me. Despite being dissatisfied with the first pair I bought, I chose to try a second pair instead of condemning the whole brand based on a potentially anomalous quality control error.

Aside from the original pair, all the subsequent ones I’ve purchased have exceeded my expectations, which was a pleasant surprise considering I lost over 25% of my body weight two years ago, so my body shape is atypical for my weight.

The size I chose according to the chart fits very comfortably in the waist, hips, and legs, which can occasionally roll up if I move a specific way, but it’s definitely not bothersome enough to discourage me from making future purchases.

As advertised, the breathable material is incredibly soft and gets even softer after the first wash. Speaking of which, since I wash most of my clothes using cold water and the heat setting for delicates, I’ve not had any issues with the garment changing after a wash or dry cycle.

Furthermore, the length is optimal because I wanted something long enough to cover where my thighs touch yet not be visible below the bottom hem of my mid-thigh shorts. Overall, whether I’m riding my penny board around campus or taking my dog on a four-mile walk, this underwear beats all others I’ve tried and is ideal for both my desired appearance and lifestyle needs.

I was looking for nice women’s boxers for a long time and was very excited to try these. Based on pictures and reviews I already expected that woxers is exactly what I need. It turned out different. Those boxers made for some rare asthenic type bodies and are absolutely not suitable for athletic or curvy ones (which I am).

I am pretty sure that most of girls who wear L have not really flat body. My hips are 41 inches (double checked it in a tailor shop, so there could not be any mistake), so I ordered size L. Waist fits good, but thighs area.

Oh, that’s a total disaster. The non-elastic seam (seriously, non-stretchy seam for the underwear?) literally blocked the blood flow, leaving red lines on my thighs and causing pain. I could see my thigh split in two by that seam even when wearing pants.

To finish my day I needed to cut the thread, so boxers are obviously ruined but at least I will not get a crush syndrome.

These were 1 of 4 items I bought on my first tomboyx purchase, wanting to see what fit in size and styles. I’m in-between sizes on everything and have an ample bum and thighs. As an “old enough to be a teenager in the 80’s,” non-binary person, I’d been forever wanting underwear that felt like me and actually fit.

Boxer briefs bought in the “men’s” section were too lose as they were made for those with more external parts. These 4. 5″ trunks fit my needs perfectly both mentally and physically. The fabric is soft, the seams unnoticeable, the style wonderful, and they’ve held up well to washing on the gentle cycle.

The fit compared the 3X trunks I have – the 4X is a bit looser overall (naturally,) and in the bottom of the crotch is a little noticeable when first putting them on, but then forgotten about. While both the 3X and 4X fit and are all day wearable, I’ve bought additional ones in a 4X.

I’ve had no problems with the leg openings in either size. But that’s my experience with my body. I can honestly say I’d recommend these to anyone. I know they’re expensive compared to store bought, but I justified them this way.

A multi-pack of “women’s” briefs may cost the same as 1 pair of these, but with those you’re getting 1-2 pairs of “I like this color,” 1 pair of “meh,” & the rest are “so not me at all,” with bonus you know they’re not going to last.

These tomboyx ones – better quality, thicker fabric, colors, patterns, & a style that matches who I am, and zero irritating leg openings. I can walk around the house in these on boiling hot days without feeling self conscious.

Same for running errands even though they’re an underlayer then. I am so glad I clicked on the ad, asked friends if they’d tried them before (a few had, others had wanted to,) and tried them out. As long as I can keep affording them, I’ll be a tomboyx customer.

I never want to go back to brick & mortar, common big brand name, store bought.

These seem nice but they don’t stay in place all that well and my main complaint is that they are too narrow in the crotch, which is super frustrating. The wide waistband makes them ride up for me. I tried two sizes and I seem to be right in between sizes and I need tighter leg elastic or something.

The butt coverage is just barely full coverage for me and they easily creep up. I honestly just want cotton underwear, not spandex blend, not anything fancy, just plain grey underwear. These are close but an inch is a mile here and they fall short of awesome for me.

I’m trying to replace old Gap 100percent cotton bikini briefs, so if you’re on the same mission, good luck because this is close but no potato. I didn’t take advantage of the free first pair if they don’t work offer because it seemed like too much to email the company so I just returned the other pairs I didn’t wear.

The comfiest pair of underwear I own. Like a second skin. A hug for your bum. Full coverage. Love that they fit right down the legs and don’t ride up or dig in at the legs or anything. The buttoning is a nice detail.

Feel super confident in these. Can wear just these around the house without feeling naked. Don’t know why its so difficult to find nice underwear with full coverage in regular stores. Thanks Tomboyx for filling this niche! Not sure about the long-term durability of this particular fabric, but I guess time will tell.

I am keen on ordering more in this style anyway as I love them. Would be nice to see a bit more choice for colours/patterns in this style maybe?.

I was elated to find the first panties that I loved after “Most Intimate Panties” ceased manufacturing their formerly high quality undies. Fit For Me fit well and was very comfortable. IMO, the best underwear are ones you do not think about once throughout the day.

A few months later I gladly purchased another pack of FFM mostly cotton panties. I knew it was too good to be true. The quality of the panty is not near what it was. The fabric is thinner and the elastic waistband does not have as much fabric surrounding it and is tighter than it was when I first purchased several months prior.

The stretchy waistband like I said is tighter and it is not comfortable against the skin due to more exposure of the skin to the elastic rather than fabric. I am sooo disappointed. Back to square one.

They’re ok. They don’t use enough material to completely cover the elastic on the seems. I don’t really mind but if someone is getting them because they are 100% cotton and their skin is sensitive, it might not be the best item to get.

It seems like all the seams are going to be a fail point… I don’t think they’ll hold up over time, but they are affordable enough to replace. They came pretty quickly and they were secure in the packaging.

I appreciated that no one could tell what I had ordered. Overall, I give them 3 stars. I probably won’t order them again. I would prefer something better quality but they aren’t awful for the price.

I like that they are made of cotton. And they fit nicely. What is really disappointing is the color selection they sent is not what I ordered. I got 2 pairs out of 12 that were in the color assortment I chose.

The rest were from the other assortments that I purposely did NOT want (they weren’t in a package, but were loose). I like to coordinate my panties to my bra as best as possible. And those colors are dull and boring.

I’m quite unhappy and won’t be ordering my panties from Walmart anymore. I would prefer that if I’m buying a package, they come that way.

Love the Poseshe undies they are soft and comfy and great for sleeping in – no midnight wedgies! and perfect under my Bamboo harem pants. Bought for my daughter and she loves them too – have already purchased more.

I got these because I needed something light and comfortable for when I work. I wanted something non-binding, as I move around a lot as I go about my shift, and I am pleased to say that these are so good that I plan on getting more.

They are made of soft, breathable fabric, don’t have a scratchy uncomfortable seam or tag, and I like that they go slightly down my legs so that they help prevent inner thigh chafing. The fit for these is spot on, neither too big nor too small.

Compared to similar products, I like the fit and feel of these more. I am planning on getting more of them, as they are just that good!.

I wore these over several days (with washings, of course) to get a good test out of them. They feel like biking short material, which isn’t necessarily bad, just unusual. They’re breathable and did not make me hot.

The seams on the inside are itchy. I also found them a little too short to wear comfortably under clothes. I probably wont continue to wear them. They would be great period underwear except the length is just too short for that.

I bought several pairs of these at the end of September. I loved them and have been wearing them regularly. It’s now early November and they are starting to rip along the seam that connects the cotton to the elastic waistband.

And I don’t mean it’s a tiny little tear, I mean it’s a five-inch long tear. This is super disappointing. I’ve had Hanes boxer briefs that have lasted years before. This new style is flimsy and honestly not worth the price.

I like these so far. They are comfy, made well, wash well and have little riding. For female cancer surgery patients they dont hurt where regular panties can. The only issues I have is they are a bit expensive for what you get and I also would love different colors offered.

Sooooo comfy it’s like I’m commando! I bought these because I am a bigger gal that deals with not only chub rub bur I’m pretty sure I have Hidradenitis suppurativa, as I get boils/cysys/pimples from things like underwear lines being sat on all day, from my bras.

They are super soft and honestly I don’t feel them at all. So far I’m in love.

Elastic used for the waistband is NOT what should be used for underwear. These would be great if a SOFTER and covered elastic was used. They do fit a little snug

These are not so great. Yes they are fairly comfortable, soft, stretchy, and a bit breathable. However, they do not stay in place. They roll up and roll down. I am always having to adjust, which is not so easy as they are underwear! I got 6 pairs but only 3 colors, 2 pink 2 green and 2 black.

The blacks came in their own sealed bag and the other 4 looked as if they were shoved into the mail bag. I suggest washing before wearing! But really I suggest not wasting your money on them.

I received 5 beige panties and 2 black. I don’t even like the color beige. I was truly disappointed in what was sent to me. I had no choice whatsoever. I didn’t read the randomly chosen part until after I received these panties.

If you aren’t skinny, these aren’t going to slim you or be very comfortable. Great coverage, I was just hoping they’d fit differently and be more comfortable. Can’t use them as a girdle, and they are too binding to wear as underwear because the top cuts into my sides so that it creates a bulge that is noticeable under clothing.

They’d be great for someone a size 4 or smaller, or someone with narrower hips and waist.

I love the ‘short’ style knickers. But I prefer a proper short style around the top of the thigh and I like what is called high rise, rather than low rise. These shorts are very comfortable and now I need more.

The fit is great and the style has a proper short style like the photo, as in it is lower than the usual knicker line there. The material is silky and I wondered if they would be too warm to wear in the hot weather, but they’re not.

There is a seam that is in the middle of the rear of the knickers … but it works well and means trousers fit better too. Seams are thin so not much VPL … I love them.

Recently purchased 3 x 7651 panties (1 free) on Invoice ID 4362226-1637804392 Item #7651023XL These were my second purchase of these panties and I have to say your Sri Lanka machinists must have been having a ‘bad’ day sewing.

The elastic around the waists are all significantly looser than my first purchase with the result that they ‘fall’ down more frequently. The overlocking of the elastic in the legs is very poor with raw material not caught in.

All purchases of 7651 have been in size 3XL. Love the panties though and wish my latest purchase was a better finish.

So far I have worn two pairs. The threads are breaking and they are falling apart. I have bought the correct size as the are comfortable when on. If just putting them on and as soon as you move around, threads break, then they’re not good quality.

I waited two months to get them, it will take two months to return the unopened new ones. I do recommend these at all. So sad, as the bras are of high quality, comfort and fit.

I ordered this product over many many many others listed because I only wear black underwear. Advertisement, the offering, and the photograph all show and claimed that you will receive THREE pairs of Michael Kors underwear in the color black.

I paid. The product arrived in a decent enough amount of time that I should not be upset. But when I open the package? Only TWO pairs of the underwear are black and one is a blue that I do not like! I mention all this and write this review to warn others so that they do not get cheated also.

Thought it was like my other boxer briefs. These had no fly. Because my size was out the computer switched to trunks and I didn’t notice the difference when ordering

The material of the product is nice, as it is not compressing. However, the shorts did not stay put on my legs, causing me to have to constantly pull them down my legs. On a longer walk, I ended up chaffing my legs because of the riding up of the material.

There is also a bit of bulk where the pocket is. I don’t see a need for a pocket since the garment should be seamless underneath clothing. Unfortunately, I cannot use them as intended and will process a return.

Comfortable & cool, they stay in place wonderfully. You won’t be conscious of wearing a different kind of undergarment. Works under shorts, pants, skirts and dresses. I love them under my overalls, as the inner thigh seams are thicker denim.

About sizing—I am between sizes, so I chose the smaller of the two. Good choice because they “hug”my skin just right & not too tight.

These are quite comfortable overall with the leg length being perfect for just above the knee skirts (I have short legs), the waistband didn’t roll down and was not tight. The only issue is that despite me having thunder-thighs, the legs keep riding up which is super annoying.

I bought a large and wear a 12 in pants which should have been right per the size chart. I might try a medium and see if that size is better for me.

These boxers would have been comfortable if they weren’t high-rise. They’re well and stay in place, but I can’t wear my undies up to my boobs. The previous version of these had were mid rise, but had unnecessary buttons.

I’m glad Aerie remade these boxers without the buttons, but why are they high rise? Ugh!.

I was so excited for these – the color and design are great, I love high-waisted underwear, and I like the boy look. But the gusset is literally an inch square and there’s a large seam up the back that takes it into thong wedgie territory and makes it uncomfortable – not to mention impossible to wear with a pad.

I wish they’d put more thought into the design.

I have wanted to try period underwear for a while so this is my first experience. I liked the eco-friendly idea of generating less paper waste. My first thoughts when trying this on, it was secure and comfortable.

It didn’t ride up which put me at ease that there wouldn’t be any leaks. I will admit, I was concerned that it was going to feel like wearing a diaper but it didn’t feel like that at all. It is a little thicker than normal underwear just around the areas that you would place a traditional pad.

I also was curious how well it would wash, and it was not a problem at all. So yes, to everyone who was wondering, it is reusable! Highly recommend as it was very absorbent. Cons: The distance around the crotch was a little too wide that it felt a little awkward.

Additionally, although I like the overall style, the underwear is higher waisted than I am used to. If it could be a little bit more low-rise, I think it would better fit women in my age group.

I am reviewing these as a bladder leak protective item. The absorbent layer in these hipster is sized like a pantyliner for women, so it has a good length front to back. At first I thought it would feel thick or strange, but I found I could wear these without noticing them all day, under snug fitting jeans as well as work slacks.

The fabric has a papery sound, but in fact stays soft. No odor from added material! Breathable and no overheating! I would recommend these for anyone who has bladder issues and currently uses a pantyliner “just in case” because these were a smooth comfortable fit without the problem of adhesives and odors.

I never noticed any moisture on the liner area, and really never thought about them at all. This is such a simple improvement to panties and such a great idea!.

I wear mainly hi-cut underwear so I was a little skeptical to try the Worry Free Hipsters, but I found them to fit similar to the hi-cuts. The Worry Free Hipsters are a little more cheeky than the hi-cuts but they didn’t give me a wedgie.

The absorbent material goes up higher in the back than what I thought which is good for sleeping but takes some getting use to for daily use (diaper-ish feeling). That being said, I was able to run a few miles in them without any issues.

The absorbent material is very thin but slightly stiff compared to the underwear material (what creates the diaper feeling) but that may soften over time with use. I would prefer that the absorbent material were a lighter color instead of black so I can see what’s going on.

Overall I’m pleased with the fit and performance especially for the fair price point compared to some of the other mainstream period underwear. Definitely worth a try.

Love the boyshort. For me the Size 8 was little to big compared to my smooth & shine hipster size 8. Legs were loose at bottom, but that could easily be taken in. Problem was back crotch liner, that weird triangle thick edging.

It bothered me all day. Cause no pad is that thick at end and not a triangle it’s a gradual curve fade to thin. I agree with others front needs to be an inch taller. But, I wanted these for incontinence caused by fibroids damaging my bladder.

(Minimal leakage, reactive to daily pads. ) Plus, I needed the short to eliminate the band putting pressure on my hip from major car crash. Lining to me was amazing that is 5 stars I love the durability of smooth & shine fabric cause it doesn’t sag it keeps it shape for 24 hrs.

This fabric on boyshort sags within 6 hours.

Overall, I give these 3. 5 stars. They are comfortable as far as material goes. I wish they had a thicker, wider waistband that actually stayed in place. The was some slipping down of the waistband and some riding up of the legs (boxer style).

I didn’t care much for the seams on the butt area, as they showed through my scrubs. I was honestly worried about if these would leak through or not, but they held true! There is an opening where you could place an extra pad underneath if you needed to; I put one in just to be safe, and nothing leaked through directly under.

However, I wish the inner middle padded piece was wider, as there was a very small leak on one side, but I lunge and squat a lot at work, so that could be why.

Boyshorts/boxer briefs are usually a flattering option on big girls like me, but these don’t work. They fit correctly, but they’re horribly uncomfortable and unflattering. The build is just not compatible with tummies.

The button strip in the front is stiff, rather than stretchy like the rest of the material, so it pulls down awkwardly on the waistband and creates a dent in my tummy. So unflattering. It also creates cameltoe, which is unexpected for underwear.

The legs are longer than most boyshorts, so they’re more like actual men’s briefs, which would be cute if the legs stayed down. But they don’t. They ride up my thighs automatically since the material and hem are too flimsy to stay down.

The legs actually feel more comfortable ridden up, but it looks silly. The bottom hem of the shorts is thin and tighter than the rest of the leg, so it feels scratchy and pinches my thigh fat if they’re in the wrong position.

Big oof. The Abstract Ikat color is also surprisingly unflattering on my backside, which is such a disappointment because it’s such a pretty print.

My review is multifold. I recently became an XL thanks to covid gains – no complaint, just a necessary detail. The XL is not a comfortable wear for me. Many reviews said they would wear under dresses but not skinny jeans because they fit loosely, but this is not the case.

They were tight on my thighs, which are not the XL part of my body (my belly is). I cannot buy a larger size because XL is the largest size available, which is extremely disappointing. Also, the fabric quality was not ideal.

When stretched during wear, the fabric felt scratchy and not soft. Perhaps that would have changed after washing, but the fabric could equally shrink or become more scratchy after washing, so who’s to say.

I was searching for nighttime underwear that would breathe and be comfortable, and I do not see that being this product. Ultimately, I regret purchasing and felt wholly brokenhearted after the experience.

the quality of this brand is shockingly low. i have a couple of pairs of these and they each have fallen apart in different ways. the elastic gets loose, the brand tag falls off, random holes appear.

i’ve only had these for a few months and hang dry them!! the prices are absurd considering the horrible quality!!! i really thought i was investing in clothing that would last. soooo wrong but they are cute and fit me well so i’ll wear them until they completely fall apart (are the good reviews all fake lol).

I bought my usual size, XL, and they fit like a dream. The linen is so soft and light, I wish Everlane would make pajama shorts in the same fabric and style. I now have these in three different colors and they are an indispensable part of my summer wardrobe.

Summers where I live are humid and basically disgusting, so shorts like this are invaluable. I have been recommending to my friends and family. I also decided to buy the linen workwear dress based on how comfortable these shorts are; this is the fabric I will wear all summer.

It’s also nice to know that the construction of this garment is easy on the environment. An all around great purchase!.

Sooooooo comfy, lightweight, and the fit is on point!! Really like the cut on these, my new favorites right out of the package. Love love love all the pockets! I got the tawny brown color and it looks a little peachy-pink just like in the picture and it’s so good! Amazingly versatile, these shorts go with everything.

The little tie really steps it up a notch, and brings it all together. You’d be silly not to get these!!.

I sized down based on the reviews and I wish I hadn’t; I bought the green color on final sale unfortunately. I am petite and hippy. The rise is also surprisingly low for a boxer fit and even if I got past the tighter fit, they ride up severely in front and are unwearable.

Unless you’re quite thin and straight-hipped, go with your true size!.

So silky soft. I love it!

I’ve tried 3 different menstrual cups (never sit right and always leak and hard to maneuver if you’re fat/disabled like me) and Thinx (resulted in a low-waisted poorly absorbent blood diaper) and it’s obvious big people were not part of the design process (I ripped those silly lacy high-waisted ones when putting them on and then had gender dysphoria from them).

These work much better. Just like the underwear I’ve purchased from Tomboyx, this fit way better. I’ve bought and used these trunks and the bikini versions. The bikini version has a bigger absorbent panel so they have better coverage but aren’t as comfortable (I never buy the style outside of this instance).

The trunks are more comfortable but, as another reviewer mentioned, the absorbent pad sits farther back. If I sit for for too long in these there is a bit of leakage at the very top. It hasn’t resulted in anything disastrous yet but if I had a heavier flow I’d have to keep an eye on it and try to yank them forward before sitting (which only doesn’t look bizarre if you’re working from home).

I recommend these over Thinx. I still use tampons at night but this cuts my waste down in a much less messy way than what I’ve tried in the past. Plus, less cramps because there’s nothing foreign in me for my highly opinionated body to complain about.

If I could change anything with these, it would be to make versions using the 6inch/9inch trunk and to make the panel longer in the front.

I’m going to start off with saying I have not leaked in these. In fact, I bought one pair, was unhappy with the gusset fit, and decided to keep my old high waist trash underwear. I wore the tomboyx leakproofs with a pad one night and the old undies with a pad the next and the old ones had a leak due to how it fit my body while sleeping.

I was told the design was adjusted so I went out on a limb and bought 3 more pairs of the leakproofs and the gusset is in the same disappointing spot. I suspect because I have junk in the trunk the fabric is pulled back and the gusset doesn’t fit where it’s ‘supposed’ to.

The gusset doesn’t come anywhere near covering me if I want to wear just the leakproofs on my light days as advertised. If I did not use reuseable pads then this would have been a waste of money. The reuseable pads snap together under the gusset and at first I was skeptical because my longest pad juuuuust makes it to where I need it.

Again, I wore it all night with the leakproofs and again a different day and there were surprisingly no leaks. However, the reuseable pads barely sit where I need them and that’s with them pulling at the gusset a bit, making it bunch up.

I don’t think I will be buying another pair of these particular underwear, which is a shame. Tomboyx is a great company and I love all of my undergarments from them. This company has helped me express my identity on a deeper level and in ways not many people get to see.

I just wish it was possible while on my period.

My period is something I weirdly ALMOST look forward to now. These are comfortable and stay in place. I find they actually hold a medium flow for me, and they distribute everything so much better than a pad does.

I do find that on my heavy day, I can’t quite make them last and need two pair. That’s exactly how they’re advertised, but I actually get more out of them than advertised. I do wish they made briefs.

I want a little more coverage for comfort but these do actually stay in place even for sleep. I normally have a problem with front leakage with pads no matter WHAT I do and some back leakage if I’m not careful.

I can just put these on and not worry at all, even when I’m asleep. My cramps are less. I don’t feel anything. It’s just like normal underwear unless it’s my heavy day and then it’s a little wetness when it’s closer to the time to change them out.

I dab some toilet paper on them and that takes care of that problem. These are a life changer for me. Seriously. Easy to wash, too. I rinse them out in the shower or the sink and toss in the wash with some white vinegar instead of fabric softener to still leave them soft but make sure they keep their absorption.
