20 Best Women’S Compression Shorts (2022 Updated)

I have hip pain and do not want the pain to slow me down as far as walking and doing my push up daily. I ordered several pairs of capris as well as full length leggings. While these were fine and comfortable for wearing during the day and through the night.

the compression was NOT adequate as far as “dealing with the pain/discomfort” I tried ordering 3 different kinds of leggings/bike shorts for added (hoping!!) compression. GUESS WHAT? As a last resort, I took advantage of the recent excellent sale and order several pairs of Compression shorts.

I tried wearing the shorts OVER my capris/leggings VOILA! My hip pain REALLY decreased by at least 75%. Thank YOU for another very effective pain control product (without harmful chemical/deadly side effects.

I needed a compression short and pant to support my adductor muscle and groin area while exercising. I ordered a small but it wasn’t sufficient compression, so I contacted the company and they were amazingly helpful.

The assistant sent me an XS short and told me to keep the small, so I wouldn’t have the hassle of sending them back. I call that great customer service. The XS fits perfectly and keeps me comfortable when working out.

If I could add anything it would be a side pocket for phone and/or keys, so I’ll order that next.

I wear this copper compression short to aid in my rehab from a proximal hamstring avulsion and surgical repair. While it’s very light weight, the support it provides is perfect. If I dont wear it, there’s pain at the end of the day.

If I wear it, I’m pain free. Also it’s cool even on humid days.

Comfortable. Nice length. I do miss the waistband key pocket like the capris and pants have. Might not use it while cycling but these shorts are great for many activities.

This is my third pair of compression biker shorts. I appreciate the support and fit.

These shorts are great, so I hope they are back in stock soon. The shorter shorts do not work for me.

I’ve worn mudgear socks for years. They’re amazingly durable and definitely get put through the test during OCR season. I recently ordered the shorts and they’re my new favorite. They’re fitted but the material is incredibly light surprisingly.

Literally can’t feel them while running and the length is perfect. 10/10, would recommend.

These shorts are great when they get wet! They drain and dry very well! I use these for longer trail runs and OCRs so I can carry all my fuel. The fabric is tough and held up while bear crawling through the dirt and rocks.

Also I love the flattering stitching around the butt! These look great AND perform!.

I purchased the Flex-Fit compression shorts for a mountain summit endurance event and these worked SO WELL!! I’m a little thick in the waist and thighs and typically have issues with waistbands rolling down and legs crawling up on the inside thigh.

These shorts are SO comfortable and I had no issues, everything stayed right where it belonged. SCORE! Love these shorts!.

I won’t run in anything but CW-X shorts and tights as I like the support of the very strong compression. I also prefer their shorts to other makers because they’re a bit longer than average. I’ve worn CW-X shorts for about 5-6 years, so am thrilled to see them available in colors other than a black base.

I will say that the size chart is a bit off. I’m 5’5″ and 120, so should wear a small according to their size chart. But I wear a Medium in the shorts, and a Medium or Large in the Tights, and a Large in the Capris (any smaller in the capris and the hem would cut into my calf too much).

I bought these for support while hiking/running and am quite satisfied. The compression takes a few wears to get accustomed to (these were my first compression shorts) but now the fit is familiar. My waste was right on the border between Small and Medium (all other measurements Small) so I went with Small and am glad.

I wear these several times a week and they appear to help with muscle soreness, etc. I have washed and worn them many times and so far they have held up to wear and tear. I ordered a size up (large) because I felt the mediums were too tight in the waist.

I’m 5’4″ 122 lbs and don’t have much of a waistline – I’m almost straight with my hips.

Have been struggling with quad and hamstring fatigue on my longer runs. Ever since adding these shorts into my rotation, the extra support has really helped as I’ve increased mileage over uneven terrain.

The compression is very snug (which I like) but you need to be careful putting them on – so as not to overstretch or damage the material. Make sure you follow their sizing guide to get the right fit.

Overall quality is excellent and inline with what I expect from this brand.

Our teenage daughters are so picky when it comes to their volleyball shorts. we have ordered many a pair only to have to return. These were different as they LOVED them, and loved them so much they recommended them to other players on the team!.

Purchased these for my daughter who has been playing volleyball for 5 years now and has had many pairs of spandex. She really likes them and said they fit well and are what she expected.

They fit perfectly. Love the 5” length. The color was brighter than the picture online. The seam lines could be slightly more flattering (e. g. , strategic placement) but overall great workout shorts.

I was so excited when I received the Nike Pro Tights. I always feel more comfortable in a tighter form fitting yoga style pant when working out and these were no exception. The polyester/spandex material is super light weight, form fitting and ultra sleek.

It does a great job at not picking up lint/animal hair which, living in a house with fur babies, I appreciate! They have a thick reinforced waist band which, although comfortable, I tend to appreciate something higher to the midsection or thicker in the band that doesn’t fold down when I bend over as easily as this did on me.

It did do a great job at keeping the pants up and did feeling supportive when pulled up to the midsection. These are great to move in, run, stretch, didn’t matter- they stayed put the way a quality fitness pant should.

The legs are perfect length and the fit is on point and true to size. The lower back legs on each side has a see through mesh material along the calf which set it apart from other pants (which I’m sure is important in the saturated market) but I’m not usually a fan of seeing my skin tone through pants, but I barely know its there and it doesn’t seem to affect the integrity or quality.

I suppose it gives these tights a little extra something which I can appreciate. These are the perfect tights to be able to dress up or down but my biggest complaint is the Nike symbol just above the knee on the left leg.

I tend to veer away from a nicer blouse/sweater with black shiny leggings like this if it has a logo that distract from the outfit itself. Overall, I am very happy with the Nike Pro Tights and I thought the comfort level alone is worth money.

I would definitely recommend to a friend and would buy again.

I have a Nike pro tight in size medium. These fit like the average medium, basically true to size. They are formfitting and not baggy at all. The material is thin and very breathable which makes working out comfortable even in warmer weather.

I really like the sturdy netted material around the back of the calves. I think this also helps for breathing. Love the style too! The Nike labeled waist band around the waist is comfortable enough and also keeps the leggings up, keeping them from sagging or falling down.

I like not having to fidget with pulling my leggings back up. They stay in place, which is very necessary when I am working out and staying active. I get workouts and exercises in, in different ways.

I like rock climbing, climbing trees, running, spinning or biking, doing hitt exercises, weightlifting, my simple elliptical, yoga, stretches. I was impressed with the durability of the material even though it feels thin and light weight.

There hasn’t been any snags on these Nike Pro tights so far. I recommend them for working out for sure. If I would change anything it would be that the material would not to show my underwear lining on each hip.

I wouldn’t say these are extremely flattering for those who may have back fat or tummy rolls but they are comfortable and very effective for getting the workouts done comfortably. It might be possible to get a size up and try to see how that would work for a more flattering figure.

I also would like to see these with extra long pockets for my phone since I don’t go anywhere without it. Other than that, I rate these a 4. 5 star.

Purchased these for my daughter who does competitive cheer. Last year we purchased Nike, so I thought we would try something else out now that she needed new ones. These were great in the beginning but now the band is messed up and has scrunched up in the front which looks funny.

I wash them and never put them in the dryer, so I am not sure how this happened. Think we will be sticking with Nike.

I bought this in size s and m. The item itself is great. Strongly recommend. Asos however did not deliver the size small under after several days (even though it was due for next day delivery), and finally when it arrived they had sent me the size large and not the small.

I then contacted asos to complain, to which they just said to send it back and they will forward the feedback. Really not good enough.

I am 5’4″. Most of my height is in my torso. My inseam is 27″. Regular lengh (ie, 9″) bike shorts make me look even shorter than I am and quite frumpy. In contrast, these are so cute! I have both a spin bike and recumbent bike at home.

These shorts work well on both. Recommend if you have short legs and want to feel more attractive. The only downside, if you have any belly, when you sit down, the fabric doesn’t hold you in and your belly rolls show.

Great shorts, love the little deep pocket at the front which is big enough for your keys. One draw back is that the size runs large which I think contributes to them riding and moving around just a little.

I couldn’t order a smaller size, XS is as small as they come (and I am always an XS in UA gear). In saying that, I’m lucky I have muscular thighs and sweat a lot so once I start sweating I find the shorts stay put while running long distances, and they wick sweat REALLY well.

If your thighs are on the very small side, be aware that they might ride up for you.

I bought these to use as shorts in spin class. They are awesome! Fit is great and the material doesn’t make the odd squeaky noise some brands. They have a pretty big pocket to hold my keys and cards.

Not quite big enough for my phone though. They come down fall enough on my thighs that I don’t feel self conscious. Also, they don’t ride up.

Breathable, lightweight, and silky! I do prefer to have pockets on the side but the material makes it worth it, even without the side pockets. I’ve tried Athleta and I noticed how much thicker and hot their brand bike shorts are for outside runs.

These are the best for hot temps!.

These are my favorite shorts I own. I got them in red then ordered them in all the colors last year. They provide the perfect amount of compression for my lower mom belly while hugging my back enough to make my butt look great.

I wear a size 12-16 and ordered a large and the fit is perfect. I love them for all occasions from hiking, gardening, to just relaxing. They support me and make me feel and look so good. And yes, they are Squat proof!!.

I’m someone who hates the feeling of things “jiggling” when they run, and these do a great job of keeping everything together. I love the thickness of the material, and these are 100 percent worth the price.

I’m going to buy them in every color because it’s all I want to workout in now! They’re a little short, but they have just enough length so that you’re not flashing everyone your cheeks. Lol trust me— you’ll love them.

I’m about 5’7” and around 115-120, and the small fits me great. Could’ve went up to medium as well.

These are simply made but quality material. I have Lipedema and needed compression panties to live in due to my legs being so bad. I have tried about 5 companies. These are above medium compression but not super tight or thick.

I can sleep in these or put them under loose pants or sweats. I really like them for riding horses under jeans. They are NOT thin or see through. They are just not super thick which I love. Size chart is accurate.

I wear Aero Tech bicycle shorts under trousers and skirts in the summer. They wick away sweat and make office clothes bearable. It’s an excellent product; I’ve been wearing them for 10 years. I recommend buying a size larger than your usual, if you’re going to wear them all day; the compression of exact-size shorts could be uncomfortable, if worn all day.

I’m right between a medium and a small and so I got the mediums but was swimming in them. I’m like a 32-33. The smalls are perfect and give me some awesome compression. I use them for cycling on paved roads in VT where I’m up and out of the saddle and moving all around.

Short jaunts to the store for beer 12miles or an 18-20 mile ride for groceries once a week and a padded pant is just not needed. I love the fit, the feel and the way they breathe. Turned around and ordered 2 more pair of smalls.

I received the Thermajane Yoga Compression Workout Shorts for Women from the Spark Reviewer program. I was surprised at how thin they were however they fit great. I got the xxs size and there were a perfect fit.

I like that you can wear them alone however, I will more than likely wear leggings or shorts over them. I like the wide waistband, it sits right below the waist and is very comfortable. The shorts are form fitting but do not feel tight.

I like the smooth feel of the material. The shorts help with keeping your muscles from tiring and hurting after a workout similar to compression socks. In a way, I wish they were a little thicker so I could wear them alone, but that this okay.

If you watch basketball, they are similar to the shorts the players wear under their shorts. I found the material to be very durable. I have only washed them once so I am not sure how they will hold up after several washings.

I do like how they feel and fit.

These are just your perfect every day go to black shorts. So comfortable to wear everyday while also being your favorite gym shorts. They are compressive in the waist and with the new pinched in waist line on the volley style, they do not gap in the back what size ever!!!! The length of the shorts is just right.

I generally love the cloud fabric, and own multiple pairs of cloud leggings. This was my first pair of Vitality shorts, and I’m pretty disappointed with how much they ride up while walking and working out.

As a personal trainer who is moving all day long, I was constantly adjusting my shorts at work yesterday, which was super annoying. I will be returning the pair I haven’t worn yet, and the pair I can’t return will just be a very expensive pair of house shorts.

I am obsessed with the volley shorts! I am such a shorts gal, own a lot of pairs from balance/vitality and these are just incredible. Perfect length, compressive but comfortable and a soft material. I will be buying any and every colour of volley shorts that vitality comes out with!! More volley shorts please!.

I bought these along with the 3 inch impact shorts, as I was in search of new running shorts. These are actually super comfortable, the waist band is really stretchy and soft, and they are a good length- not too long, but covers everything.

However, I did find they were pretty baggy. Enough so that my husband even commented on the bagginess. If I hadn’t liked the other style so much I probably would have kept these. Only other con is they don’t have a zipper pocket.

All in all a great short, I just preferred another style more.

Ordered these right before my last race a few weeks back. They arrived the day before the race, so I was a little worried about not being able to run in them before race day. Turns out there was no need for concern :).

They fit perfectly, and felt SO comfortable and light weight. The fabric is soft, and quick drying, + the New Balance logo on the band around the waist is a cool touch as well. I think these shorts definitely played a role in helping me set a new 5k PR :).

Will definitely be buying a few more pairs soon!.

I was looking for a replacement to an older version of this short made by New Balance and this one does not compare. I was disappointed. The older one, I would use for swimming, running, and hiking. It had a better look, this one looks like you are wearing underwear and not shorts.

I bought these specifically because they were advertised as having a pocket in the back and there’s no pocket! The rest of the shorts are perfectly satisfactory but the fact that these shorts are specifically advertised as having a pocket and in reality don’t have one is frustrating.

I absolutely love these shorts. I bought a pair last summer and loved them so I bought some more. They’re not too short and super comfortable. Good for lounging around or going to the gym.

This item, unlike other spandex, does not go up the legs while walking or running. Its very comfortable and is breathable.

These are great! I bought the cacti+llama ones a few months ago and loved them for how fun and comfortable they are. Really feels like I’m not even wearing shorts. Can’t attest to quality of how long they last, but my 1st pair is still in great shape after a few months, esp.

for $35. These are slowly replacing my Lulus, but I do prefer on the Lulus is that the key pocket is on the bottom left leg rather than back. My car key fob is not comfortable to have in the back zipper pocket while driving.

But that’s the only issue for me but it won’t stop me from buying more or giving 5 stars.

I LOVE these running shorts! I’ll admit, I was skeptical of a FB add, the waistband and the short inseam, but these shorts surpassed my expectations. The pink and yellow bolts are super fun, the waistband isn’t too tight, too high or too low.

I’m 5’7, 115lbs, 34-26-35, long waisted and the small is a perfect fit. I immediately purchased the orange ghosts to wear this week. The blue bolts, sharks and black flamingos are next on my list to purchase.

I wear them all day to train dogs, hike, trail run, compete in dog agility and teach dog agility classes.

These shorts are hands down, feet in, chicken legs out, the absolute best shorts I have ever put on my body. I have been a runner my entire life. I ran in middle school, high school, college and nationals.

I have worn many brands, many fits, many styles. and not one single pair of shorts have come close to fitting like these luscious short chicken legs, shorts. While it may sound dramatic, I promise you’ll never put on another pair of shorts that are this comfy.

From the way they fit, to the short length, to the inner undies, to the outer material. they are simply LUSCIOUS. Do yourself a favor and get one in every pattern. I’ll certainly be purchasing more. Thanks Chickenlegs shorts for giving new life to my running wardrobe!.

The inner liner feels initially different than most shorts. I found myself adjusting a lot pre-run. However, my first race I ran in these was the most comfortable I’ve been ever been and received plenty of compliments along the way.

I placed second in that race by the way. I’m not saying you’ll place in these shorts but I’m not saying you *wont* place in these shorts.

I coach high school Cross Country and we love these shorts! My top relay team is wearing them in their first meet next week. And, personally, I run long distances marathon training and these are by far the most comfortable, lightest weight, and flattering shorts I’ve ever owned.

Something that I noticed after my first longer run in these is the dryness to them. I’m running in super humid conditions, sweating more than usual, and these are drying quickly without notable sweat marks.

I’m obsessed. I plan to buy more!!!.

My daughter loves these run shorts. She has almost every design. She loves heading to track practice because her teammates always ask which ones she’s wearing that day!! Wednesday’s are always for the ducks.
