20 Best Women’S Hair Toppers (2022 Updated)

I ordered the Raquel Welch Top Billing in color RL10/12 Sunlit Chestnut. The topper was pretty but the color was just too dark (maybe too ashy) for me. I previously ordered the RL12/16 Honey Toast — it was a little too light.

I am at a loss on how to order the right Raquel Welch color — the professional recommendation was to order the RL10/12 that I just returned. I love the RW heat defiant fiber, density and texture — it looks like REAL hair.

My current “go to” toppers are Jon Renau Top Smart in 12/30BT Rootbeer Float and Jon Renau Top Coverage in 12 Light Golden Brown but I just don’t love the shiny synthetic (non HD) fiber. (I’ve tried several techniques to “de-shine” but I’m still not happy.

) I think RW Top Billing could be a winner if I can ever find the right color.

Suffering from age related hair loss made my life miserable. I’ve been wearing wigs part time for years but went full time a couple month ago. I purchased Top Billing to give me another hair loss option without having to wear a full wig.

I bought it in two colors, RL12-22SS and RL9-22SS. Both of them look good with my hair color but give me different looks. Originally my hair was longer and lighter but I trimmed and darkened to better match roots.

So, some info for first time buyers of heat defiant fibers. Out of the box they are gorgeous and soft. A day into use they do become more coarse and eventually (sooner than later) they will feel very coarse and scratchy—no matter what—IF you are wearing full time.

My hair loss is front, top and temple area so it’s harder to attach the front side clips. Following YouTube videos I now use ItStays for the lace front on all my wigs and toppers and that gives me a secure attachment.

Overall I do recommend Top Billing and definitely would purchase it again.

Natural color = black! Too dark for naturally dark hair, but not black. Other available colors arent even close. Quality is good tho. Shipping was slow. Im so tempted to bleach it, just a little..

I wanted so much to love these extensions. I previously purchased Halo Couture 12 inch extensions, and wanted to order longer ones without the hassle of ordering through a salon. When I received the extensions, they seemed like good quality, and fitting them to my head was easy and straight forward.

I had them toned by a professional salon to better match my hair, and everything seemed perfect. However, after wearing them for a few weeks, the quality seemed to decline. I followed all instructions for care, and as mentioned, have previous halo extensions that held up extremely well.

No matter what I did, the extensions became rough and knotted, as in, after wearing them for ten minutes I would have a huge nasty knot in the back of my head that could barely be brushed out. After attempting to brush it out, the extensions would also shed extremely badly, and I would end up with stray hairs all over my clothes, which was gross.

As per the instructions, I have only washed it once other than when it was at the salon. I used an expensive deep conditioning mask in the hopes that this would help the issue, but to no avail. The whole experience has been frustrating, since these obviously aren’t cheap.

I don’t know if I just got a bad batch of hair or if there’s something else going on, but I’ve started wearing my shorter and older extensions again so I don’t constantly have to worry that I look like a crazy mad scientist with knotted rough hair.

I suppose that I would suggest any purchasers to take advantage of the 30 day exchange window. I wish I would have recognized that my issues would not improve, and try to exchange to see if a second set would perform better.

So I recently bought the hidden crown hair the Halo. I bought only 12 in Long and the thick ends. My complaints are that the hair is not staying on my head properly. It’s constantly falling down no matter what I do very disappointed.

😢 the hair is so thick I can’t even tie it back in a ponytail most importantly I feel like I have a thick wig on all day long and it falls off and is also getting tangled underneath crown part of the netting.

So I really wish I didn’t make this purchase now. I’m very disappointed the hair just does not have proper placement and it’s too heavy and the quality of the hair is good but the fit is terrible. I wish I would have known better than to make this purchase.

I tried to contact customer service and I haven’t gotten a response. Definitely should have investigate this more thoroughly before I make this purchase because now you cannot return it once you take the plastic security bands off the hair.

😞 I’m very familiar with extensions I’ve had them done professionally for 20 years and I was wanting to give my hair a break and this was recommended to me but I think everything was just ordered wrong I think the thick ends are too heavy for a person’s head.

I think that’s why the wire won’t go into proper placement. I think I should have did the 16 inch without the thick ends. Thinking this is so heavy and so thick that is why it won’t properly fit I watched the videos over and over again I can’t help with it and it’s just not working and I don’t understand why it tangles underneath the crown part of the halo.

Well I realize this is working for some people this particular Halo is not working for me at all I really wish customer service would contact me and try and resolve this issue.

I love your toppers. I buy one almost every year as I have horribly thin hair and the topper gives me coverage I need. I do have to cut bangs into it as the front of my hair is super thin from medicines and just genetics.

The amazing part of a topper is it’s clip in, I can still pull my hair up and when added a touch of “scalp” nobody knows. Seriously if your thinking of using one for thin hair cover up. do it. I’ve been wearing for 2 years almost 3 and they just found out when my hubby exposed me in a family game “you wear one of these! It’s on top of your head” the answer was Toupee.

thanks hun. My only complaint is that after purchase I have to go have it dyed. I buy the darkest shade of dark brown 1b, I can before black, and it’s still not dark brown enough. I find this to be common of most hair accessories that they don’t have a dark enough dark brown to match mine.

Also the coloring all washes out of the hidden crowns and one I’ve had to get dyed 2 times with in a year. My last one also had a blue group of hairs that the dye kept coming off and exposing the blue strands.

so whomever had sold the hair had dyed it with a colored carpet dye before selling or something. I had to keep dying from greys and blue hairs coming out in the topper. Which for this price. was a bummer.

Other than that I love them. I just bought another one at the last great sale and have an appt for it to be colored and bangs cut in. I wear them everyday and probably will forever. One topper worn almost daily can last for up to 2 years before hair becomes over processed from tools and coloring and becomes frizzy in appearance.

Very HAPPY with this hair piece it is easy to use. My hair looks so much better. It has just the right amount of hair, I recommend this to everyone thinking about ordering one. I even ordered another one in a slightly different color, just for fun.

This topper is really curly. I thought I could blend it into my wavy hair but I could not. I wanted a grey topper so tried the 56/51 color. it was enough “off” that, between the curl and the color, it was WAY too obvious.

I had to send it back. I think it would work well if you could get a good match for color and have curly hair.

I received my wiglet in color 14/26 it was the best thing I had purchased in my whole life, the length was great and the color was awesome!

I’ve bought this topper before and I love it! Looks totally natural, once you figure out which color to get. Love the very small base and the styling flexibility this gives me. I’ve bought the 12-inch length when my hair was shorter, and now I buy the 18-inch length and trim it to my longer hair length.

It hides and blends in with my baby fine hair and thinning part, without looking wig-y. I put it in a ponytail or French twist often. I love that it always looks polished, even when it’s hot and humid (which flattens my own hair) or raining or whatever — and still looks 100 percent natural.

I do have to reposition the clips some days, depending on my hairstyle that day, but it’s no big deal and not hard to keep it comfortable. A winner!.

The Jon Renau Easipart HD 18″ topper is the first topper I ever purchased AND wore. I started being unhappy w/my bio hair back in 2004 and started lurking in wig sites. I ordered a few over the years and hated all of them.

They were all only costume quality and looked totally “wiggy” and unnatural. I would buy a topper, hate it and give up for a while resigning myself to doing my best to style my hair and just live with it.

But as I got older, the issue became impossible to conceal, my hair just looked BAD. It was thin, getting gray in places and basically crazy cat lady hair. I finally went to a professional & tried on a bunch of makes and models and settled on the Easipart.

Best thing I ever did for myself. First one, bought in 2016, I still wear. Bought my 2nd 2 years ago. I wear the brown highlighted colors (6F27 & FS6/30/27) they look totally natural. I get compliments on my “hair” all the time.

The secret to long wear is to not wash as often as they tell you. I wash mine 4 times a year but I don’t sweat in them. If I’m going to work out, I wear a ball cap. Also, I only use heat to smooth the ends, I use a blow dryer and a round metal brush.

The ends can get rough and the hair will clump and not “flow” after a while. I smooth about once a week.

This is not my first topper, but it is definitely my favorite! I have paid lots more money for other name-brand toppers that do not look as natural, or beautiful as this. I chose FS17/101S18 (Palm Springs Blonde) and it is truly a wonderful ash-blonde topper with many highlights.

I have extreme hair thinning on the very top of my head, and this gives me perfect coverage. The very best thing about this topper is it looks so natural that no one knows it is a topper!! This baby is my favorite.

I do not find any shedding of fibers and I can curl this to blend with my natural hair. ALSO, it is very lightweight and comfortable, that I forgot I was wearing it. The California Blondes selection for this topper is incredibly gorgeous.

I have bought quite a few different toppers and wigs and I absolutely adore this one. It moves more like my hair, it is light but has volume like I wish my hair still had. It does have drier fibers but I just make sure that I comb it out after wearing and put the deranged on it.

I wear it to work almost everyday and I forget that I am even wearing it.

Beautiful! I have this Jon Renau but was purchased locally. So glad I found this website as mine was much more expensive. I’m a “clip expert” ha! Have worn clips for years to add volume to my own hair.

This is the best quality I’ve found–worth the price! The new shaded colors are just so pretty and natural looking. So I learned from the salon where I purchased that the “S” stands for Shaded. This creates a natural look along the part that really looks like your roots are growing out a bit.

I have a lot of natural hair but it’s baby fine. These blended clips allow me to have the fuller hair I’ve always wanted with a truly natural look. I’ve already ordered more from this site!.

I ordered this prior, trying to find the right length for the bio hair that I’ve lost. This piece comes very thin. If you center it on your hand as if you were wearing it, the back fall has pretty big gaps.

Based on the pictures I thought that that couldn’t be right, so I sent it back to be determined if it wasn’t off in some way. My Jon Renau pieces are usually 3 times as thick as the one that came. When I heard back from the company that the piece wasn’t defective in any way, I was thoroughly disappointed.

This is a piece you would wear if you have a lot of bio hair in the back and sides. It seems like they’ve sacrificed thickness for length. If you flip the piece upside down, at least half of it is hair half the length that it promises.

Truly disappointing and NOT worth the price tag.

It is just as I expected, although I am having a hard time pulling my real hair through the cap to make it look realistic. I ordered the white, which is my primary color. It is a very pretty white with nice shine, but unless I figure out how to pull my hair through it will look ridiculous! I haven’t spent much time playing with it this week due to DR.

I absolutely love the piece! At first I got disappointed and felt like throwing it away because it seemed too small and the curls didn’t blend with my hair. Three days later I decided to play with it again and smoothed the curls.

It looked perfect! Could not see the difference between my real hair and the synthetic ones. I am happy 😃.

This hair piece is my favorite. I bought FOUR in just few months since September. Their colors are 59, MINX (2) , Silver stoni. I have not to a hairdresser since COVID-19, each color has my color it was perfect.

These colors are sophisticated and undivided so I can mix them with own hair and it very natural and complimented by my friend. I recommended it to a friend.

I bought this after falling in love with the JR EasiPart topper, because I wanted a wavy topper to match my naturally wavy hair. It is beautiful! I have the Midnight Cocoa. The highlights are much chunkier on the Top Wave than I would have preferred, but I can get used to that.

The full mono top is amazing, I can’t get over how natural the part looks! I got these to wear after getting my hand tied extensions removed, since pandemic precautions prevent me from getting the extensions moved up.

But these are so natural looking and much less maintenance, at never go back to extensions again!.

I purchased the Salted Carmel with a slightly darker root color, and after putting in just a few highlights in my own hair and trimming the ends of the topper at home, it blended very well. I bought the same color in a straight texture so that I can change up my look.

I would recommend this topper. I’m not really loosing hair, but never cared for the way my part looked. Using a topper makes it so much faster and easier to get ready for work in the morning and with less stress on my natural hair as I don’t have to do as much to it.

The salted carmel is not as red as the little sample square appears to show on the websites, which was good for me. I have warm tones in my hair, but not outright red.

Unfortunately this topper didn’t work for me. With the thickness at the front line and the dark band at the front, it seems like you need a good deal of front line hair to set this behind just to somewhat hide it.

I also have not been able to find one JR piece that matches my dark hair, which I didn’t think would be so tough. The waves in this piece are nice after spritzing it with synthetic hair leave in conditioner and combing it out to loosen the waves.

But the piece is also pretty overpowering if you have a slender or petite face. I find JR clips to be a tad bulky and painful, which probably is less of an issue for those with stronger bio hair. I wish it looked as lovely on me as it does the reviewers below!.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Seamless Crown Clip- Ins!!! I am only disappointed that I did not find your company until I had already spent $300 on a wig and over a $1,000 on (another brand) hair extensions and maintenance over the last year and a half.

I used to have decent hair until I had Covid in spring of 2020. I have had DRAMATIC hair loss and have heard many other women say it happened to them too and no supplements or shampoos help. And after wearing the sewn in hair extensions for 6 months, my hair needed a break.

My stylist suggested clip ins and I was VERY skeptical. WELL, If you are reading this and you have the same problem, do not hesitate– Buy these and get your confidence back! I swear I’m not being cheesy, these are the best! I will be buying the bungee ponytail soon as well (probably another set of seamless clipins or maybe even a V-Clip later on–and i promise to post pics on my next review) OH, and the clip ins are soooo much easier to care for and have held up better than my sewn in extensions that cost twice as much.

Other than one of the clips on one of the wefts arriving broken, they’re not a bad set of hair extensions. I wish I would have gotten them longer. If you have thin hair like I do, one weft will be enough.

They’re so thick in hair that wearing more than one can possibly give you headaches or strain on your hair. The color match service I did prior to purchasing was spot on. I was very impressed by that.

Just wish they weren’t so thick in hair & didn’t come already damaged. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars. They do gift you extra goodies with your purchase tho like a hanger to clip your extensions on for easy styling or cleaning, a nice clip, a thin hair comb and a nice zip up bag to store your extensions in or easy travel or storage.

Several other hair extension companies are not on that game for some reason when those are viral products to use with having extensions. Very impressed, wish I knew what I know now before my first purchase with them.

The hair quality looks good, from what I can tell inside a plastic covering looking at a significantly warmer and darker hair color than my own. The return instructions on the website are contradictory, and I’ve yet to get an email reply, only Instagram.

One option on the site says to email and wait, another gives a form to send it back. I returned my extensions a week ago to get the correct color and still have heard nothing. It’s unsettling. Were they received? Do I need to claim insurance from USPS? No idea.

I was amazed at how quickly they came initially but the return and exchange process is a nightmare thus far.

I received the hairpiece on a timely basis. It was in good shape. The color I ordered, Silverstone, didn’t say anything about being completely white in the front. Some of the others did which is why I didn’t order them.

When I called after I received it the customer service person wasn’t much help. I like the piece and bought one previously in a different color. I believe the picture of the piece needs to show the front as well as the back especially when it is so different.

I was disappointed because I thought this piece was an answer to my problems. I did keep the hairpiece because I didn’t see any others in the gray tones. The description for the Silverstone color needs to say it is white in the front.

Like I said the others did which is why I didn’t buy them. I have been wearing wigs and hairpieces for over 20 years. The 3/4 enhancer is perfect for my needs.

Great topper wig for coverage. It’s almost like a full wig, but not as confining or heavy. I have thinning hair, and the clips keep the topper in place. I believe this synthetic wiglet looks more authentic than many others, because the ‘hair’ is not so shiny.

Also, the amount of hair is generous in this wiglet. The colors don’t always match what appears on the screen. I replaced Coconut Cream with Iced Champagne, and am happy with it.

I’ve ordered 4 toppers and I am so incredibly grateful to have found these. Prior to toppers, I was wearing full wigs. hand tied squeezed the life out of my head (even the ‘Large’) and caused headaches.

Wefted were hot and created a big, unrealistic look. I have purchased more than 15 wigs, in search of a wig that was natural looking and comfortable. It makes me sick to think how much I’ve spent on that quest.

These toppers are wonderful. They secure better than wigs, so I have peace of mind that it will not come off. There is no pain/discomfort for my sensitive head. Both this topper as well as the 12 in wavy toppers fit great.

not too big and not too small. One customer said this particular topper was “too much hair and needed to be thinned”. Kudos, she must not be experiencing much hair loss. I can tell you that the 12 in.

wavy topper does have a good amount of hair and may need to be thinned. I was shocked at the difference in amount of hair between the wavy topper and this straight topper. In regard to this top notch 8-10 in.

topper, it definitely does not need to be thinned!! In fact, sometimes I wish it had a tad more hair. If the wind blows it around, one of my areas of hair loss in the back shows (hence, why I’d love just a few more strands in the back).

Nothing is perfect I guess. I normally don’t take time to leave reviews but I saw the customer mentioning how much hair this topper had and how it was so big. I needed to chime in, so women, this piece might benefit, do not rule the topper out because of that one review.

I have hair but am extremely thin on top and have patches that are pretty much bald in the back and up by the bangs. I am very grateful for these toppers. Hope this helps someone else looking for solutions.

I’ve tried many cheaper toppers and wigs. I’m 66 and my medium brown hair is still only a little gray. It’s always been thin, but now there are too many areas of exposed scalp that are becoming impossible to hide.

I’ve tried all the hair fibers which do help somewhat, but are messy and time consuming to apply correctly. This Top Notch Synthetic topper by Jon Renau in color 38 is just what I’ve been searching for! This is an easy solution to getting ready for work.

I get a lot of compliments about my hair and the color. I’m always comfortable telling my friends I’m wearing a topper. They are more comfortable than a wig and easy to attach to my bio hair which is thinning at my temples.

My natural color is blonde and I have been a medium brown for about two years now. Everyone likes my new color and thinks it enhances my blue eyes and fair complection. My topper color is 10/H/16 and is an extact match to my bio hair.

This is my first heat friendly topper. I’ve always worn human hair toppers and I have a Jon Renau synthetic wavy one. I was looking for a more affordable solution to human hair especially with how difficult finding hair during the pandemic was! I don’t wear hair just to look better I have over all serious thinning and really need helper hair.

I’m definitely a candidate for a wig but I’m holding out as long as I can with toppers. I do have to tape my toppers because I don’t have enough hair for clips to be comfortable. This topper is good for adhesives.

I gave this topper 4 stars only because I haven’t washed or curled it yet. It was really nice right out of the box. I am 60 so I don’t like too much hair and get tired of having to thin out the toppers I get.

That wasn’t necessary with this one at all. It’s dense enough for good overall coverage, especially in the back which is sometimes a problem with other toppers, without being too thick. No permatease which is great for me, I don’t like that stuff! The color I have is a great medium brown 8/30 Cocoa Twist.

The fibers look very natural and don’t seem to tangle like my one synthetic does. I like the cap size and the mono top is nice, light, and cool. If I like this one after washing and styling, I’m planning to get a second one.

Hello Ladies 🙂 I just want to say today I received my new Scarlet large cap in 6/33. It fits me so well and it is so light weight I love it. I can deal with the permatease it’s not as bad as I thought.

I ordered Petite Julianne in color 27T613F. This in a non-rooted color which I think was a bad choice for me. Without the roots, it just doesn’t look like real hair and IMHO makes it obvious it is a wig.

My thought was that without the roots, the lace front wouldn’t be as noticeable. and that is actually true. The lace front is remarkably well done in light tones. almost invisible. However the roots and the area a few inches down looks lighter to me than the rest of the wig and that just didn’t look natural to me.

The bottom portion of the wig is a lovely blend of a few different blonde colors. I can’t really comment on style because when it arrives, it is in relatively tight Shirley Temple curls, which I’m sure can be fluffed out to the looser “beachy waves” look once you decide to keep it.

Since I knew I was going to return it based on color, I didn’t attempt to alter the wig. I am a 21″ circumference and the petite size cap fit was perfect. It was quite shiny, so it will require some dry shampoo or a couple of washes to tone it down.

Next time, I will choose a rooted version and just deal with the darker lace front with some sort of bangs.

This topper is very pretty. The cut is nice, the color is very close to my bio hair color, and it feels like real hair. However, it does not have a clip to secure the hairpiece in the front (two on each side and one on the back).

I can not get it to lay flat on my head; plus, the hair is very thick and poufy, so it is hard to blend it in with my natural hairline. I bought the piece on clearance and can’t send it back, so I’ll continue trying to work with it.

This is my first topper and I definitely won’t buy another one online.

This is a nice versital top piece. I like that the cap is small and not a ton of hair so it is cooler to wear. There is a good variety of colors so it can integrate very nicely into your bio hair. Nice color choices.

Please with the Small topper piece, I was able to blend it evenly. no one at work noticed that it was not my natural hair. The color was a little lighter but regardless of that it was not an obvious look.

Well after waiting exactly one month from the day I ordered this I finally received it about 30 minutes ago was not even in a box except for the box it was shipped in arrived in a ziplock bag with a flimsy piece of cardboard around it in a net tag not attached.

Took it out let it warmed up since it’s very cold to get to the bathroom combed it sink has all kinds of hair in it. So the piece sheds very badly the hair is not thick at all very thin compared to what I have seen on reviews and online.

Very disappointed it will be getting sent back hoping that they take it since the tag was not attached which was not my fault. When I ordered this piece I ordered Ginger Brown was not contacted to let me know it was out of stock after I finally called a fourth time after being told my item would be shipped the very next day which it never was I change the color to medium brown and I received it within the week but very disappointed at the product I received.

The original price-point enticed me to try this piece and I have purchased it several times, again, due to the reasonable price. I prefer to have a new one on hand at all times. Well, much to my dismay, I now find the price is DOUBLED!! Based on positive reviews, I expected a price increase at some point but not DOUBLE.

I’m sure most of the ladies who have need of a piece like this are mature ladies, possibly retired on limited income. I am in that demographic and so, in my case, the price increase will have a NEGATIVE effect on your sales.

Almost like a full wig. Covers a wide area. Because I have a small head, I am in the process of getting it trimmed. Should fit my head a little better then.

This is becoming one of my favourites hairpieces. Good quality at reasonable price. It looks natural, has good volume and covers all the places where I have no more hair after surgery. And it is very easy to wear.

I am now perfectly set to go out in a minute. A pity that the international shipping costs are so high which makes me think twice to buy other hairpieces available. Fedex is probably not the best option.
