20 Best Women’S Shoe Stretcher (2022 Updated)

Well made and appears durable. While I only used it for several weeks it look as if it will hold up well. Solid, smooth varnished wood with durable looking steel mechanism.

I have peripheral neuropathy and I’m 72 years old. My feet don’t like me anymore, and I can’t afford to have shoes custom-made. The VA buys me orthopedic shoes but I still have to shape them to keep from irritating odd parts of my feet.

This did the job perfectly. This is built very sturdy, so be careful not to tighten it so much that you bust your shoe.

Very good. I would only say , that it would have been better if they added a few extra metal inserts for the trouble areas of the shoe. When they came in, there was only Two for each stretcher , for particularly troubling areas of your foot.

I could have used more.

Works GREAT. Takes just minutes to help stretch leather. Used on older pair of shoes that had gotten too tight and within just a few minutes of walking around was much more comfortable. Will be using this product on several other pair of shoes that are “bothering” me and would recommend it for anyone having a problem with either new shoes that are too tight or old shoes that don’t fit right.

Fine product, well worth the price!!!.

I’ve used this for years but lately, I can’t find it anywhere anymore, so I’m glad to get it on Ebay. For any shoe that feels tight, I just spray some of this in the tight areas and walk around for 10-15 minutes, and the shoe feels more comfortable, broken in and softer.

The only down side is that when I do that when wearing toenail polish, the liquid will smear the polish. So, I simply stuff some old, clean socks tightly into the shoes, soak the socks with the shoe stretch liquid and leave the socks in the shoes til the liquid is completely dry, up to several days if necessary.

This works just as well, if not better. This product doesn’t have a smell and it doesn’t leave a bad smell behind, even in shoes that have been worn. This product has been a foot-saver, and money-saver for me!.

I used to use this in my younger days. Always worked well. Was very happy to see that it was still available, My shoes will be very comfortable to wear at the wedding I am standing up in next week.

It’s a GREAT product! It works very Quickly to stretch shoes. I sprayed it across the instep on the outside and at the bottom of the tongue of my shoes. Oh my goodness. My feet slid right into my high top shoes! I was AMAZED!!! I have wide feet with a high instep and have problems with the width and instep.

NOT any more with the shoe stretch!.

I bought some second hand Fluevogs from online. The shoes were in good shape, but the dyed leather was really scuffled and worn. Instead of polishing them up, I did a color change-had been looking for shoes to turn Prince Purple.

The shoes turned out great!!.

I used this spray on a pair of strappy patent leather heels because they were too tight in the width. Just to play it super safe I doused a paper towel with the liquid and applied it to the underside of the leather while stretching.

I repeated for about 3-5 min on each shoe and let it dry. It worked like a dream! The product definitely stretches patent leather well. I would however suggest using a shoe stretcher with the product and let it sit for awhile for lastig results.

I had a major ankle surgery a few months back and it has left my foot permanently swollen from inserted hardware. This results in one foot being 1-1/2 shoe sizes bigger than the other. I purchased this with the hopes of stretching sneakers, all terrain tennis shoes and boots.

It has worked perfectly on them all. It is simple and easy to use and well worth the value! I no longer have to purchase 2 pairs of the same shoe in different sizes! Best investment made in a while! Good quality and very durable.

The stretchers work but I wouldn’t use them on a steady basis. The large threaded plastic rod fits too tight into the heel block and is very difficult to turn. Even with some lube it is very tight. I’m not sure how long it will last before the threads in the plastic rod are stripped.

Then they would be useless. If the heel portion was made with a threaded steel insert the strechers would be easier to use and they would probably last a long time.

The product was not the quality I expected. Large pieces of wood had broken off and had been repaired with putty. Unable to get the adjusters to work. Threads not cut correctly. Hard to get metal adjusters to work on threaded wood.

Would not purchase again. I refused to accept corrective solutions offered by seller. Not the sellers fault.

This is a great tool: Simple, robust and effective. My bunion was making some of my shoes unwearable. Inspired by watching a ski boot tech make room for my bunion in my boots, I looked for a similar tool for shoes.

FootFitter is exactly that tool. I have used it on two pairs of expensive dress shoes that I had given up on. Now I can wear them pain free all day. The tool cost 1/10th of the price of one pair. Highly recommended.

Just what I needed for my shoes. My big toes press upwards inside my hiking shoes and this wreaks havoc on the toe nails. This tool works exceptionally well at adding space above the toe and thus relieves the rubbing of the toenail on the underside of the toebox.

This is a high quality tool and an exceptional value as well. High recommended.

I’ve bought 4 of these, 2 pair. I wear men’s size 12D, but I got one pair of these in men’s SMALL and another in men’s MEDIUM. They don’t fit as advertised. First they are cigar-shaped or tubular, rather than more flattened like a foot or all shoe trees.

I phoned the owner about this, but he insists that round tubular is how most of his customers feet are. I know for a fact that flatter like shoe trees are sold all around the world for the average foot.

I own 20 pairs of shoe trees in 5 different brands. (I’m a shoe guy! 🙂 ) Also, I learned from my shoe repair man who has some of these. He downsizes to a smaller size because they can expand to stretch the toe box, without also stretching the arch and mid-shoe that needs to fit snugly.

Anyway, I bought a second pair of these, despite fit issues, because the materials, wood and metal, were better than the British brand at my shoe repair shop. The British brand actually was much more ergonomic & fit normal feet, but I didn’t like the hollow plastic foot shaper.

Also, I couldn’t sand or grind the plastic stretchers to alter the shape if desired. This Footfitter brand without modifying would actually destroy Slip-Ons, because there would be no open top with laces to cram these into.

To make the Footfitter brand fit, I first used a black pen to mark how much I wanted to take off the top & bottom. I used standard shoe trees as a rough guide, but still left these Footfitters marked for thicker or higher.

I used a belt sander with coarse 50 grit to remove the bulk of excess wood, then a finer grit to smooth it, and finally some lemon furniture oil to finish the raw wood. Then there was the problem with the drilled holes to put the spot-stretching plugs into.

There weren’t nearly enough pre-drilled holes in the right locations to place the plugs where you might want. Approx. 5. 5 mm holes were perfect for the plugs, but I had a 5mm (too small) & 6mm bit (too large).

I used a 1/4″ drill bit, which was slightly too small, but wriggled it a bit sideways to enlarge the holes. I also slightly drilled/modified some of the pre-drilled holes which were haphazardly drilled at incorrect angles.

The plugs when inserted did not sit flat. In the end, I have 2 pair of stretchers with high-quality materials. I expended a great amount of time modifying incredibly sloppy quality control and design.

I like the end result, but question whether it was worth all the time. If I ever decide on a 3rd pair of stretchers, I would probably try the plastic British-made ones in my local shoe repair shop.

My set of boot stretchers shipped and we’re delivered faster than expected. Expedited very well. These are my second set, I use my stretchers daily. I have three pair of boots that I rotate between do when I pull my boots off the dryer the stretchers go on.

I have a lot of issues with my feet and these have been a great help. My first set the tension screw failed at the u joint after a couple of years use. As soon as I notified Foot Fitter they immediately replaced the screws no charge other than a one time shipping cost.

I felt this was fair. I highly recommend the company and their products. These stretchers are designed to stretch the width or pressure points in the toe box but I wish there were a way to do this and push on the length at the same time.

This is not a complaint just something I think would be a benefit.

I bought both the Premium Professional Boot Vamp and Instep Stretcher, and the FootFitter Premium Professional Boot Stretcher (that’s the one to widens toe boxes). I did so thinking they are quite pricey, and fairly skeptical they weren’t going to work.

With respect to how well they work. how wrong could I have been. They work fantastically well! I highly recommend these stretchers! Pleased to have both- in my case, the vamp and instep stretcher was particularly outstanding.

I bought a pair of Red Wings Iron Rangers at one of their stores, so I got fitted for the right size; correct length but they were mighty narrow. The RW shop guy assured me they would stretch but, oh my gosh, was that ever torture and misery.

Even after nearly a month of walking around for an hour every day (well not every day as I skipped some while humongous blisters healed), it seemed I had a long way to go breaking them in. Bleak! To make matters worse, because they were so tight, I had to wear thin dress socks (over bandaids in somewhat of a futile attempt to keep the blisters at bay).

I then saw these stretchers online and ordered them. The night they arrived, I put each of the stretchers in each boot, and the next morning I swapped them. After work I went for a walk, and what a miraculous transformation.

I now believe I’ve “turned the corner”. Don’t get me wrong, the boots still need more breaking in, but when millimeters count, they’re there now. I went from nearly giving up, to saying wearing them is now doable.

I repeated the same process a couple of times and they’re better still- so much so I’ll stop and break in just by continued wearing. With respect to price, it’s pretty obvious that the stretchers are extremely well made from nice materials, and they are strong- you can hear the leather creaking when turning the screw, so they are worth it.

And to justify the cost, I’m going to do something I had vowed never to do again- buy more boots, probably RWs but there are others too- anyway I no longer fear breaking in. I wear size 9 (size 8 Red Wings) so I have the men’s medium vamp and instep stretcher, and the other is men’s small, and these are just right.

I am always trying to purchase items made in the USA and was a little skeptical buying these as they are made in China. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived. Unlike the plain wooden stretchers, these have been sanded to a perfectly smooth finish (no splinters) and have a lacquered top coat giving them a nice sheen.

They are very simple to use. Place them in your shoe(s) and turn the plastic nut to stretch lengthwise or the long crank to stretch in the width. They also have holes drilled in them with various shaped pieces that you can insert for corns, bone spurs, or bunion.

For best results, always stretch the shoes slowly and in incremental degrees of stretch. This will avoid tearing of leather or separating the top of the shoem from the sole. I highly recommend the stretchersmasmthey are well made, sturdy, and easy to use.

I just recently started having issues with a corn on my left foot. (corner toe) I sold a few pairs of shoes because they were just too tight. I regret that now since I invested in this shoe stretcher.

The key for me was making sure it was big enough to stretch my shoes. My first experiment was a pair of brown Cole Haan shoes, mens size 12 that I bought online. It got to the point where I just couldn’t wear them anymore because they were too tight.

That changed after leaving the shoe stretcher in for 2 weeks. Making tighter adjustments every 3-4 days. I wore them to work with no issues. They fit very nicely now. I’m a happy camper.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I should have known better as they took an overly long time to get here. I wear a size 10. 5, 4E shoe, and these shoe trees are made for TINY feet! No way they could stretch my shoes, even with the little bunion buttons attached.

Nike’s fit like a dream length-wise, but they often push my first two bone sets together, leading to some real pain. These stretchers have assignable button points that let you direct exactly where the shoe needs to be stretched, and it definitely does the trick.

I figured out that with athletic shoes you’ve really gotta stretch them to a point that seems like it’d be damaging, but mine were fine. Two work days in a row with zero corresponding pain.

Just remember, the secret to properly stretch shoes and boots without possibly over stressing the apparatus, if you have to do a bit of stretching. Is to use rubbing alcohol sprayed outside and inside, it makes the leather relax more.

Then start length wise and then width wise, slow and steady wins the race, do not go too fast. These should work fine and last quite a while.

Just started using the product. On my running shoes that were tight, the product seems to expanded the areas necessary to make them more comfortable. They seem sturdy and well made. Time will tell whether they will work well on dress shoes, etc.

Seems better made and more sturdy than wooden shoe trees.

This is an item you may not think you need until you find that you in fact need it. While it’s made of wood and metal, its strong and includes a spray that enhances the ease of stretching the shoes material.

Would be ideal if another shoe stretcher could be bought separately. That way both shoes would be stretched in the same time frame.

I am stunned to find a product that actually does what it says it will. I have been ill and medication made my feet, ankles, calves, and knees swell to rediculous levels. After I was treated, I bought a pair of shoes.

Who knew my foot size would have changed? I was very upset at the thought of never being able to wear anything but my husbands crocs. Then I ordered another pair of shoes for my husband (spats are not really a good look for me) and there this Shoekeeper and shoe tree.

Since having my son my one foot is wider than the other and have had problems finding shoes to fit comfortably never giving thought to getting a stretcher to help. Well not any more, I wish I had bought this sooner.

I went through my closet and stretched all my new sandals that I bought at the end of summer and some others that were a little tight. Wow it works great, some I had to stretch a little longer than others but I could see a difference in how comfortable the wider foot was not having the break in period.

This is made really well out of wood with a good sturdy metal crank. I am so happy that I finally have this to help make my shoes comfy.

The stretchers came as a pair which is perfect. Some are sold singularly, great quality, the bunion buttons are a great addition, they can be placed to suit your own foot problem. I have a swollen right foot but have used the stretchers in 2 new pairs of walking boots in both feet.

As I’ve got older my “Bertie” Bunion has become slightly larger and more tender, making beautiful summer mules rather uncomfortable. I bought this particular shoe stretcher for a pair of mules I have.

This is the absolutely perfect problem solver for boots that are too tight across the toe box. I had a nice pair of boots, but they were always too snug and miserable to wear for any length of time. Now I can wear them in comfort.

It did take a couple of tries with the FootFitter to stretch the toe box and get it just right, but I wanted to be careful. This is a very good and helpful product. It’s well made, very sturdy. So glad I purchased it.

These are very nice shoe trees. I’m particularly fond of the split toe design and the strong cedar aroma. I’ve found that I could not rely on one size or design shoe tree to accommodate all of my shoes since their designs varied.

I normally wear a 9. 5 D/M shoe. Since I like a lot of tension to iron out all the wrinkles and creases from the days wear, I had to go with a medium tree in some shoes and large in others. I also noticed that these work better in low cut shoes and those with a lowly built toe box and instep.

The width has not presented too much of a problem. I can usually manually manipulate the front half of the tree with my finger tips applied to the back side at different angles in order to fill the section of the toe box that requires the most pressure.

This is where the spring action and the correct size are most important. If I can achieve proper and consistent pressure from heel to toe then mission accomplished. I’m only giving this design 4 stars because it does nothing for my shoes with high insteps and a fuller toe box.

For those shoes I depend on the twintube, european designed split toe shoe tree. This design has a higher cone to accommodate the shoe with a high instep. It also has a fuller heel to more accurately mimic the shape of the human heel and a separate module which splits from the main module that makes up the front half of the shoe tree on the outside of the foot.

It has spring action and an adjustment screw to control width. I would love for Nordstrom to incorporate this design into their line-up. I can appreciate having the ability to satisfy all of my shoe tree needs at one location.

I prefer to purchase shoe trees at the same time I purchase a pair of shoes so that I will know I’m getting the right one for the shoe. When I purchased thes it was with prior knowledge of the design.

Nordstrom gives very little towards visual acuity in order to make the decision easier. These two designs make up 100% of my shoe tree needs.

Excellent And Versatile shoe trees made from Cedar Wood. I have owned a few different kinds in the past, but these are perhaps one of the best. Firstly, great Cedar aroma when you open them up. Secondly, the simple mechanism of the split toe on these makes them very versatile for just about all shoes.

Concerning sizing – you have to be careful here, as you need them to create enough tension otherwise they will be pointless. I’m a US 8. 5 and I bought a size medium, which is good for a US 9. I felt that created enough enough tension when putting inside the shoe to give the desired fit.

If your size is one the high edge, buy the next size up. If you are low to mid, buy the correct size. This is just my opinion regarding sizes – please double check for yourselves. Shoe trees are perhaps one of the most important inventions for adding 10x longevity to shoes.

Make sure you buy Cedar wood, as the wood absorbs moisture and is replaced with the fragrance of the Cedar. Split toe mechanisms make them very universal. These shoe trees tick all the boxes. Perfect.

A must have for well-made shoes and boots. These are well-made, fit into boots and shoes and will keep the soles from curling over the years. Leather shoes and boots, being made of organic materials, require periodic care to keep them attractive and “healthy”.

In addition to using cedar trees, bush, clean, and condition once a month. If one cannot not do these simple things, one needs footwear made of synthetic materials. Very nice cedar trees! Also, lightly, very lightly sand the trees with no greater than 220 grit sandpaper every 10 years, more or less.

Will allow the cedar to emit the cedar scent. but do this rarely as you would the interior of cedar chests and cedar closets.

I am aware that these are plastic, but there has been no attempt to lessen the harshness of these edges on the heel ‘knob’ section. I was very very gentle inserting, and they still gauged a massive line through my sneakers lining, also far too much spring, unnecessary amount causes too much pressure on stitching even on size 10.

DO NOT USE ON VALUABLE TRAINERS that you are preserving, dailys yes. Damaged my 650 pair of Adidas originals. Shocking.

Quality product that is cheap to buy. Does a good job of maintaining the shape of your trainers. Please note however that prolonged use of a shoe tree in a trainer may deform the toe box

For the price, you get a decent quality product that does its sole job very well. Looks good too. I bought a second one shortly afterwards. Enough said.

The pkg arrived with saran wrap instead of “BUBBLE WRAP” hence product not properly protected & Wet! Overall, I’ve used this product for many yrs – always works! The stars are for the poor packaging!

This seems to run small to me. I wear an 8. 5 and wish I had ordered the larger size. It is a great value and works, but I find it very hard to twist the back piece. I might need to grease the gear. I wish that the spreader at the front opened more, but it is maxed out (maybe the larger one would fix this).

The packaging (large chipboard like envelope) was torn up and I was afraid it had sustained damage in shipping, but the pieces were all fine. I will probably end up buying the larger one, but if I do, I will use this seller.

I was so excited when these arrived, I’ve been paying to have one shoe stretched every time I buy shoes and finally just decided to buy stretchers and do it myself. Unfortunately both broke after only 2 uses.

They look like great quality but the internal pieces are cheap plastic so as soon as you twist them to make them wider the plastic piece that forces them to spread cracked in half. If they just used some other material these would be great.

These stretched out two very tight shoes. Anyone that says these broke. they just turned it way to tight and put too much pressure on item. No need to turn this till you can barely turn it anymore, duh! this is meant to take 24hrs not 6 hours to stretch.
