20 Best Women’S Wading Boots (2022 Updated)

I bought 2 pair of these Rogue Waves thinking that they would be awesome for my winter activities and summer water days. The only real complaint I have deals with the traction. The outsole tends to pick and hold grains of pebbles and rocks.

If wearing them inside the home especially on a hard surface after whatever activity u have done outside, the outsole releases the pebbles and rocks throughout ur trek until u take them off. I’m in a constant battle sweeping my hardwood floors more then I would like to on a daily.

As for being snug they are true to fit, especially if wearing a sock. Plus they are pretty comfortable as a daily. I have not yet touched out to or needed customer service from Huk as the quality of the boot so far seems good.

Would I recommend these boots, YES and NO. Again the only complaint I have is the outsole carries and releases more maintenance inside my home after playing outside. This is why I give them a three star review.

I was pleasantly surprised by how light these are. They are easy to take on and off with the tabs. I am usually a 44. 5 EU sizing and the 11US are 45EU, so they fit just right with an extra pair of socks since 1/2 sizes aren’t an option.

They are very comfortable and easy to spend all day in and get better than average traction on hard surface and don’t leave scuff marks. Another thing to note is that they do not provide a lot of insulation if you plan on using these for cold weather applications.

You will likely need another pair of socks, but are nice for warmer weather as they dont make your feet sweat like those suffocating rubber boots or heavily insulated winter boots.

I purchased these for my teenage son. He wears them bass fishing and also to his work as a greenskeeper at a golf course. I had ordered the 14 as some reviews suggested ordering a size up. In his case he needed his regular size 13.

I ordered the 13 before sending back the 14 just to be sure. HUK was awesome with returns. My son loves HUK and has had many of their shirts over the past 3 years. He wears them all year around. School, fishing and the golf course.

Very comfortable and appear to be very well made. Make sure you try them on with your waders or neoprene that has similar thickness as your wader neoprene feet. If you have think neoprene, you will want to “size up”.

If you have thinner neoprene, they will fit to size. I have taken the boots out three times since purchased and tried both the felt and rubber soles. Rubber soles are great for hiking to the river (especially in snow), but a bit slippery when in the river and on moss covered rocks.

Would definitely recommend using the felt bottoms while in the river. The BOA system is AWESOME and makes it so much easier to get suited up and on the river quickly. Coming off and gearing down is just as easy.

Excited to see how well the boots and BOA system stand up over time, but feel like it is a great investment as you can purchase new OmniTrax soles when they wear out. So far- I am very, very impressed and pleased with the purchase and would highly recommend (& did.

My son went and bought a pair after seeing mine. ).

I fish 100 days or more a season, about 60% saltwater (striped bass) and 40% freshwater (trout), so put my wading gear through a lot, and expect a lot out of my gear. My wading usually includes several miles of hiking in varied terrain, over rockweed covered granite outcrops, along beaches, briar-covered trails, rocks, roots, and everything in-between, before I even get to where I want to fish.

So far, the Darkhorse has been a great companion “workhorse” for me, and I’m pleased with them and would highly recommend them. I love being able to slide on my boots (they are very easy to get on/off), spin the Boa dial to adjust tightness, and go.

The boot is high, which I like, and provides extra ankle support/protection in rocks. Like all Korkers boots, having interchangeable soles is great, but I find the Vibram studded sole to be my most-used soles in both fresh and salt, and they have held up well.

That said, if solely working lots of rockweed covered granite boulders, the triple-threat carbide sole is unbeatable. The boots, boa system, and soles have held up well through extensive use so far. I expect to get at least another season out of them.

My only gripe is that I need to stop to re-tighten the boa dials several times through a day (they most definitely do loosen after hiking for awhile), but I guess I’d have to retighten laces anyway if these were regular lace-up boots.

The Darkhorse is also a tad too roomy for my foot (I wear a 10 shoe, bought these in 11 as recommended). They definitely have lots of volume and are even a little roomy when wearing wool socks and my waders.

If wet-wading, I wear thick wool socks and neoprene booties (to take up space) and they’re still a touch roomy. That said, they remain comfortable even for 12-hour+ wading days, and I’ve never gotten blisters in them.

Easy on / Easy off. Third pair of waders boots I’ve ever owned and by far the best. I’m 68 now and working at putting on wader boots that then have to be tied just doesn’t cut it anymore. These boots open up like ski boots and slip on and off even easier ( wet or not ) are more comfortable then any I’ve owned.

Don’t worry they don’t feel like ski boots at all they walk great. Then the fact that we can easily change the bottom surface is also outstanding. Again being older and feeling just a slight slip on moss ( younger guys probably won’t even notice it ) being able to simply buy a pair of felt w/small carbide tips in them solved that problem completely.

Buy a set of heavy duty carbide for steelhead when the snow flies and your a tank. And don’t forget, a few twists and their tight / a simple pull of the tightening knob , which only you can do and your foot slips out.

Doesn’t get any better.

I don’t live that far from the flagship store in Manchester VT. On a great fall weekend I was riding around the Bennington/Manchester area and made a stop to buy these boots. Unfortunately I didn’t bring my waders so we did out best to figure which size would be best.

My decision wasn’t the correct one. I found out when I got home that I should have chosen a size bigger. Silly me go to take another ride to Manchester for a return and the experience returning them with Maria was just as pleasant as seeing fall colors that were even better than the first time there.

Now I have the right size and boy are the comfortable. Best waders and boots in my opinion. You won’t go wrong with these. Back to the water I go.

Used for surf fishing primarily; only used in fresh water where felt bottoms not allowed. Only one “issue”. Earlier Clearwater boots had speed laces. Problem was, they were anodized steel, not SW grade stainless or silicon bronze, etc.

They corroded rapidly in SW, mine only made it through 10 trips over 2 seasons before failing. Orvis graciously replaced them with the newer model. These have grommet holes lower down and plastic hooks at the top.

Work fine, but a lot harder to tighten up than the older model.

I wore these for nearly a week hiking miles daily while fishing and they were nearly perfect. Super lightweight and couldn’t tell I was wearing wading boots. My boyfriend picked them up and was jealous of how light they felt for wading boots! Slipped in some spots but somewhat unavoidable due to algae buildup on the rocks.

Kept me afloat and no sore feet! The only issue I had was a slight rubbing on my left ankle but I am bow legged so no fault of the boots. Overall great boot and would buy again.

Stop shopping. Buy the boots. The interchangeable bottoms are amazing and they are so easy to snap on and off. Be mindful, though, the rubber sole (meant for trekking, not wading) is slick as anything in the river (which is the whole point of being able to swap the bottom out).

The women’s fit is so much less clunky, and they are comfy enough to wear several miles in the backcountry, which we do often. I have seen almost zero wear on both soles options in the couple of months that I have had them.

I purchased a pair of Devils Canyon wading boots in 2014. They fit well and are an all around great boot for wading and fishing. I love the quick cinch knob and quick release. No more tying laces on my boot! Unfortunately, I had a couple of issues with the felt soles, but the Korker Customer Service team has been superb and took care of it quickly.

You can’t go wrong with Korker products and their great customer service!.

I previously used the Orvis Encounter boots, which always left me with sore feet after a day on the water. After putting up with them for a couple seasons, I upgraded to the Prowler Pro felt boots just before a backcountry fish/camp.

Man, am I so glad I did!!! After covering miles of trails and water over a weekend in the GSMNP, my feet were the only part of my body NOT hurting. As for the grip, I was fishing a very rocky freestone river and had several tumbles (no swims, thankfully), but I think that had more to do with the river and my balance than the soles.

Felt is felt, right? I may add studs and see how I do. But the comfort and lightweight are top notch. I can see these lasting several seasons and I’d be happy buying a new pair when they finally give out.

As for the fit, they are ever so slightly large, but not enough to size down. I usually wear an 8. 5 shoe, but the 8 was too small on me. The 9 leaves room for doubling up wool socks comfortably without being too roomy.

The only con to these boots is the eyelets for the laces: the finish wore off in under a dozen uses and they are rough on the laces. In under 3 months, one of my laces broke due to being shredded by the eyelet.

Picked these up after my 12 year old boots finally failed. Very stiff out of the box but break in nicely. Wide toe box. Many reviews speak about lightweight. I’ll admit not as heavy as a Simms G3 but also not quite as light as a boot meant for hiking like the flyweight.

Good construction and nice rubber treads.

I’ll report back after putting these to good use, but wanted to write a quick note to caution against sizing-up. I found conflicting info about how Redington sizes their boots — you should buy your actual foot size, even if you’re wearing stocking-foot waders or neoprene wading socks.

These are built with a bunch of extra room. I wear mondo 27 ski boots (US Men’s size 9) and Redington’s size 9 is plenty large for me to use with stocking-foot waders and/or neoprene wading socks. If you go up a size, they’ll probably be too huge.

I’m initially impressed with how light these are. Much lighter than the Korkers they’re replacing. I’ll leave it at that for now.

I’ve used these boots several times, and have been pleased with their performance and comfort. I ordered my normal shoe size (7), which fit fine with stockingfoot waders and a pair of thin socks. If you’re fishing in a cold river, though, you might want to wear warmer socks.

If they’re normal thickness, say a thinner wool hiking sock, for example, your regular size boot should be fine. If they’re really thick you might want to size up. No fault with the boots, but after a couple of hours standing in a mountain river, feet can get pretty cold!.

I recently bought these wading boots and I’m very happy with them so far. I read reviews before deciding on buying them. I was previously wearing a mens size 6 wading boot which i found to be so uncomfortable.

My regular shoe size is 7 with a medium width. I ordered the womens size 7. They fit well with the stocking foot waders and also with the neoprene booties. They accommodate both well. I do stream fishing with my husband which requires traversing some difficult terrain.

I’ve climbed rocky banks and gone through thick brush and the boots are holding up well. I also have been able to handle slippery rocks in the stream. I am happy I bought these boots. They are made to fit a women”s foot.

I should have bought these first instead of being talked into a men’s boot at a sporting good store.

Finding women’s wading boots is a challenge! These are good, though the top lace hooks can be improved. I have some Simms men’s boots that are too wide and super-stiff in the base of the shoe so that when I wear the Simms I feel like I’m clomping on top of slippery rocks with no ability to bend the boot and grip a rock.

These White River boots have just the right flexibility for me. I’ve worn them on two fishing trips in the past month and am pleased. I wear a women’s size 7 – 7 1/2 so I ordered the women’s 8. The boots are a bit big with my wader stockingfoot (Orvis Endura which I like) but I wear a thicker hiking sock and it’s a good fit.

I struggled with the decision of felt vs. no felt but I went with my safety. I’m trying to follow recommendations for cleaning and drying gear but it’s a complicated issue (transporting invasive species like whirling disease, didymo, mud snails, etc.

) I’ll try other laces and see if that fixes the problem. But White River should change the top 2 hook style and they’d have a great, reasonably priced boot for women.

Bought these bc I needed a pair of felt bottom boots for some rivers in Western NC that can be pretty rocky and slippery. Had done some research and was looking for a quality pair of women’s boots. While they are advertised as women’s, they really are not a woman’s fit.

The box has men’s and women’s sizing on it. If it wanted a gender neutral fit I’d have gone with a men’s boot in my size. I was hoping for a narrower fit as I have a pair of Orvis women’s wading boots (rubber sole).

Not exactly truth in advertising here but I had to wear them due to timing and can’t take them back. Disappointed.

I’ve used this boot model myself for a year now and I love them. Comfortable fit with a great tread design, and the hard toe box is great for wading in the rocky bottom rivers I fish around where I live.

I bought a pair as a gift this past Christmas and Fin & Fire were very quick on shipping and delivery. Would recommend both the Simms Freestones and Fin & Fire.

These fit great. I have very slender ankles and narrow feet size 7 in Salomon sneakers. I’ve had the Men’s freestone boot size 8 for 3 years and wore them with two pairs of thick wool socks (I get cold easily) plus waders.

They were just a little tight from the toe to heel with a little wobble width wise and up the calf. But they were great at taking a beating and they’ve now fallen apart. I ordered a Women’s Freestone boot size 9.

I wear them with 2 pairs of socks plus waders. They fit perfect from toe to heel. The width of this shoe is also more narrow then than mens and cinch down really well for me. I can see some folks with wide feet maybe finding issue getting their foot in.

If that’s the case I recommend the Men’s Freestone.

Bought a pair of these for fly fishing in the surf. Worn over bootfoot waders. Very easy to slip on and off, Light, flexible but supportive top for walking in the sand and rocks. Drain very well. snug enough with a high tongue to keep out most of the sand.

Excellent wide sole and heel keeps your ankles straight. The eyelets are steel and you do need to rinse them off well to keep the salt from rusting them up. Like them better than my “XXXXX”” flats boots.

It looks like you would have great ankle support by the amount of rubber around the heal of this boot. But the sole is very thick under your foot so the rubber you see on the outside is below your foot.

This means you end up having very little side to side stability when walking over uneven terrain. My wife says these boots are like trying to fish in high heals. The price was fairly low so I got what I paid for.

Good comfortable boots. Bought for Alaska where there are invasive species restrictions. They stick ok considering they are not felt. Relatively comfortable for walking

I can state the facts and I hope you listen. By moving production to China you have completely destroyed the best fishing and bad weather boots in the world. I figure that you raised the price by an average of $50 to try to cover all the warranty’s you have now because of very bad material used.

Every pair I have ever had was made in USA and none ever leaked. I ordered a pair 2 months ago and both boots leaked first time I wore them! It has been 2 months since I turned in a warranty claim and still have not received my replacement boots.

I am almost dreading getting them for fear that they will leak too. If you ever want to get your reputation and quality back you will have to bring production back to the US and make them the way you used to.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that you have been having these problems since to outsourced to China. I can see having problems at first but after years of production over there it’s obvious that it will never get corrected.

I would have no problem paying up to $300 a pair for Xtratuf boots if the were the same quality as my last 8 pair I purchased over the years for myself and family members. I was going to purchase 3 more pair for my girlfriend and my parents but will look somewhere else after reading the reviews and actually dealing with this pair of horrible assembled boots.

You had the best harsh weather boots in the world and destroyed them to try and put a little extra money in your pockets. You should be very ashamed of what you are doing to hard working people in this world that buy the boots you sell now thinking they are getting the same quality you used to make.

I have a very large family that has logging companies from Alaska and throughout the United States and I will be passing on my experience to all of them.

I tried 5 other brands’ boots; none are as comfortable & well-fitting as the Xtratuf 2. 0 Legacy. These are lighter & cooler than the neoprene Muck or Bogs I tried & I’m working outside this summer. I’m a female, size 8 1/2 or 9 C++ width (close to men’s average D width) which in this case, translates into size 7 men’s.

There’s no way I can fit a woman’s B width. These boots have a roomy toe box; no pinching of the composite toe; & are cut smaller around the top of the foot than the standard steel toe Xtratuf Legacy boots.

So these won’t fit a larger volume foot or some men’s feet. They also have a designed, more narrow “ankle fit” which prevents your foot from slopping all around. Muck Boots were the #2 choice, yet they were much warmer and had a looser fit.

It seems like Xtratuf designed these for more narrow and/or lower volume men’s feet and/or for women with a wider than average foot/size 9 and up. And they finally caught up with the times by using composite toes vs.

heavy, cold, conductive steel toes, which are completely unnecessary in this day and age of equally strong composite materials. I use my own insole (Hapad Athletic insole) with great arch support because those that came with the boots aren’t that great.

Yet no boots of this style really have great insoles imo. My feet are never tired, sore, burning, etc. at the end of the day. Don’t be fooled by the tread design which is marketed as more for fishing or boat decks.

These work fine in dirt, mud, sand, cement, rain & they are lighter weight than the Muck or Bogs boots. The bottom soles do not hold onto mud or dirt -they shed it nicely. I wouldn’t consider wearing any of the neoprene Muck or Bogs style boots in the summertime.

They are just too hot! Just to clarify these Xtratuf 2. 0 Legacy boots are actually described as neoprene with hand laid rubber on the outside. But it’s not the wetsuit cushy type of neoprene material that the tops of the Mucks or Bogs are made of.

That’s another plus for these boots vs. the wet-suit style neoprene topped boots. That neoprene gets snagged on branches, edges, rebar, etc. All my co-workers who wear that style boot have their tops all ripped and sometimes that causes water to get in & ruin the boots.

These Xtratufs are solid rubber all the way up top and are not easily punctured.

Wow, so I wanted to respond to xtratuf and see they took down my review because it spoke to the threads hanging out the back of the boot and that not being a waterproof seal. I keep asking what’s up with that because it’s on every pair of boot I order now but isn’t photographed on the website but no one will explain it or answer the question if that’s how they’re made now.

I get there’s a 30 day return policy but I have used these boots and would like to continue to buy. All I want is an explanation for the threads on all the brand new boots. Water can travel up it and it’s at the bottom so I can’t wrap my head around this one.

I’ve literally ordered like 8 pairs and I keep returning and just keep getting sent the same thing with the same issue. If that’s you they’re being made then XtraTuf should really be showing that on their imagery and website.

Don’t edit out the strings so people know what to expect. not to mention the numbers now stamped into them. These used to be my favourite boots and company. Really disappointed, even more so to see my honest review removed.

I purchased these as a gift for my husband. He tried them on at the store. He wore them out hunting the first two days. His exact words were ” These are the most expensive worst boots I have ever owned.

” The sole was not strong causing his feet to hurt. The boots rubbed on the back of his shins causing sores not on one but both legs. I have read hundreds of reviews on these boots and did my research, disappointed is an understatement.

These boots are overrated. I contacted Muck boot by email. Their response was bring it back to Tractor Supply and return them under the warranty, and they would let them know they were coming back. They did not.

Spoke with Manager at my store and she advised me to bring them in and she would return them no questions asked. Spend your money wisely, and my opinion is this is not wise.

I enjoy lengthy walks in nature and whilst my walking boots were adequate for the summer months, I needed some totally waterproof boots for ventures into extremely muddy places during the wet winter season! I had some basic, inexpensive wellies and after a short walk in these, I ended up with sore ankles as they rubbed and were a poor fit.

After much research, I settled on trying some Muck Boots for an upgrade. Happy to say, these wellies are excellent and very comfortable for extended periods of wear having walking on varied terrain, and they are 100% waterproof.

The neoprene upper makes them feel lighter and not at all clumsy like traditional wellies do. The insoles are cushioned and soft, featuring a special coating to prevent odours.

I own several pairs of Muck brand boots for different temperature ratings. I use them for work and recreation. They are outstanding and they stand up to the harsh conditions of oilfield work, farm work, and hunting.

I bought the wetland boot for hunting and farm work. The sole on this boot has great traction and keeps you from sliding around. They work great for the cold of North Dakota. Walking around a lot in temps above 40 F will get warm, standing or sitting in temps -10 F feet can get cold.

They pretty much perform in the temp range they are supposed to. If it’s warmer I throw on the chore and if it’s colder I throw on the attic sport or attic pro. Great boots that get the job done!.

I once thought XTRATUF was a great company and I’ve worn their boots for a long time. For this reason, I was gifted a new pair from a friend. Unfortunately they were the wrong size, but 30 days had already passed since the purchase date, before I even received them.

I called to discuss a size exchange, expecting some support. I work as an outdoor professional and am accustomed to excellent companies, but the staff will not flex on a 30-day policy. Speaking with supervisor Armando brought no additional help.

I just want to change a size! And then I would wear these boots happily for years, in front of numerous clients and students. Instead, my friend spent $145 on a pair of boots that will sit untouched in a box and I will probably start buying boots from LL BEAN.

They fit nice. The issue I have is they are not really slip ons anymore with the redesigned upper. Found it impossible to put these on without bending down and holding the loop on the back. The entry is now tight and narrow.

Bought these because my older pair were getting holes. The older model has a wider different entry, that easily allows you to slip in and out of them. This is crucial when needing to jump out of your bunk and be ready on the commercial fishing boats and also for places like my home, where I take my shoes off when inside.

Sadly I wore these for a day and can not return them. I found an older style at one of my local stores and purchased them which I use.

I work in marine husbandry (think aquarium and around/in water all day). these boots are amazing!! Unlike cheaper boots that I’ve tried in the past, these not only keep the water splashed on me out (and my socks totally dry) but I don’t slip on wet floors! Plus the soles are supportive enough for being on my feet a lot! I’m in love! They’ve held up to all expectations! They fit a little loose by design but I much prefer that to any alternative; I ordered my usual running shoe size (women’s 8) and they are perfect.

Even though they are a little dirty now, these boots are still dope looking 🙂 highly recommend.

The boots look great, are really light weight quite comfortable, and provide good traction. I often have to walk 500-1000 yards to get to my favourite spots, and occasionally walk the river for longer.

On about the 5th use the orange lining inside the sole of the boots separated from rest of the sole, causing an air pocket to form, as someone else has already mentioned in a review. I was worried the boots were defective, or that this would affect the boots over the months to come, but other than the two layers being separated, this has not had any negative effects on my fishing, my comfort, or the function of the boots.

However, i have now used these boots for 12 months, not heavy use, i would say moderate use at most, and the outer sole is wearing down a fair bit. About 4 months into use, the outer heel area of the both boots on the medial side was getting worn out from contact with rocks/boulders in the river.

With some Aquaseal, i coated the seams that were breaking down, and due to the durability of the Aquaseal, it has kept the problem from progressing, and the angled seams at the medial heels are still both intact.

i have used them in rivers and the ocean. Super comfortable and light, so these are great for little hikes down a steep or rocky face to get to that perfect fishing spot, i almost feel like i am wearing hiking boots.

However, the boots are not as durable as i would have expected for the price. I am guessing the soles will not last a full two seasons. I am a size 9 to 9. 5, and bought a size 10, which is great for summer, fall and spring, but with extra socks during the Canadian winter the boots felt a bit tight.

Overall, the boots were lighter than my korkers, but provided less ankle support on rockier terrain. They were great on the beach, but failed me when I was in larger, bouldery terrain. Build quality was insufficient for use in the surf.

After less than half of a season as my primary boot, the stitching came apart on the boots where the upper connects to the rest of the boot. Laces were torn apart as expected, but I figured there would be more quality here for a 200 dollar boot.

Im not sure about warranty with these boots, but my BOA korkers held up for a season and a half. Plus some time in the snow, and holdover fishing. Simms lasted like 5 months. Underwhelming experience.

The studs the guys at SWE recommended were very good, but were too tall on rocky terrain and provided some instability.

I have a pair of sims flyweight vibram soled boots (With studs). I have been flyfishing for 55+ years. My time in the boots is split about 60/40. 60% walking on dry land, & standing in place in the water.

40% moving in the water under various conditions. ( Sand, pebbles, & medium to large rocks). I use a wooden wading staff. And my preferred way to fish is swinging soft hackles (wet waiding)for trout.

I love the weight of the boots. Vibram soles , & studs. Just hope durability has not been compromised for weight , but time will tell. Also the boots were purchased at a sims dealer. ( fly shop). & they sold me the wrong studs.

Something didn’t feel right about the sale so I went on the sims website. When I went back they didn’t have the correct studs. A second flyshop also tried to sell me the wrong studs. So I bypassed the sales person bought the correct ones & left.

I wonder how many people have lost studs because they used the wrong ones in the first place? Maybe you could supply a simple chart to your dealers for boot/ stud compatibility. I’m hoping to get 4 years out of these boots & I will be happy.

Orvis never disappoints. Great fit. Great comfort. Great quality. My only thought is I should have sized down one. Runs a little big.

Not the most flexible or comfortable to walk in for long distances as higher priced boots are but very sturdy and good support. A great boot for the price.

Orders these and they fit great. Ordered them and had them on in 4 days.

Got unstudded boots for Xmas Really like them. Need to upgrade to studded boots. Both boots are exactly the same but you cannot buy a stud kit only for the unstudded boots?? To get the studded boots I must return the unstudded? And be shipped the studded pair.

So this is clumsy. And should I wear out the studs you have to buy a new pair of boots? So I’ll go to elsewhere to buy a stud kit and just maybe their studded boots. Some product mgr. needs to wake up.

I finally bought these after going through 2 other (cheaper) pair of wading boots and I used them for the first time this past weekend. They are awesome! Super comfortable on my wide feet, great support at the foot bed and around the ankle without being too constricting.

Also surprisingly light and very grippy on the rocky river bottom where I waded for a day and a half. My recc: stop looking around for cheaper alternatives and buy these in your normal shoe size. Plenty of room for neoprene booty waders, even for wide footed people like me.

First, let me say that I love these boots! They are very comfortable, they are lightweight, and my feet don’t get too cold or too warm. This is no “man’s boot” meaning it fits! I am a shoe size 7 or 71/2, so I was worried about fit.

I went with the 7 and with stocking foot waders, they fit great. Maybe a tiny bit of extra room as far as width goes, but they don’t rub or move at the heel, and I don’t feel like they are too loose.

However, when going to put the stocking foot in or out of the wader boot, I don’t have to struggle, either. I’ve only had them a short time, so I have no comment on durability or workmanship other than so far, they seem like they are excellently constructed.

Traversing rocks and cobbles, or walking back to the car on the dirt road–they feel good. I have not had to cut a fishing session short due to uncomfortable boots. Highly recommend so far!.

I purchased these boots for two specific reasons. The first was to have a pair of reliable, light weight wading boots for traveling to various national and international fishing destinations. The second was to have a pair of light weight wading boots for float fishing in drift boats where studded boots would mar the deck.

So far these boots serve both purposes well. They are indeed comfortable, go on and come off easily. The lacing system is solid and the boots are rugged, at least they proved to be so far having used them only for two weeks.

Time will tell in this attribute. These boots will accommodate screw in studs, which I’ve not used to date. Without studs these boots or any unstudded wading boot, is an accident waiting to happen in the freestone rivers of New England.

The rocks in these rivers are slime covered and as slick as greased cannon balls. So far I’m impressed with these boots. Reduced fishing tackle baggage weight is a real plus from my perspective. These boots fill the bill.

As I’ve said previously, I have used these boots for a very short time period. Once I have a season or two of use I can more accurately review this product.

Boot these a few weeks ago and have worn them several times. I was a bit wary of buying boots without trying them on first but the size guide was spot on and the fit perfect. It took a couple of trips to wear the boots in but they are now very comfortable and I’ve walked several miles along the river etc and they remain comfy.

The studs make quite a difference to the grip on a muddy bank and I’d recommend getting them. Be wary of tightening the studs too tight – I accidentally snapped the grip off the first one as I had the clutch set too high on my drill to use the free tool.

The boots go on and off easily and the thumb pull on the back is useful. They also seem to dry reasonably quickly and overall I’m very pleased with the purchase.

I’ve been very impressed with these boots so far. I tried on a pair of these and the competitor’s flyweight boots with my waders at the shop and I liked how these fit more. They might look a bit clunky but they really are ultra light.

Wider in the toes which I believe really helps with drainage and breathability. I love how much protection there is on the toes as well because nothing is worse than banging them on a rock! I routinely hike 8 miles a day while fishing creeks and rivers and these have been no less comfortable than my Oboz hiking boots.

I haven’t had any problems slipping on rocks with the Vibram sole unless the boot is extra muddy. I’ve had these for a couple months now and near 100 miles and they have withstood thick brush, marsh, desert, prairie, cactus, boulders, ridges, rock scramble, sand, mud; let’s just say everything.

The only sign of wear is the laces starting to furl a bit but I’m not too concerned about something that small. Definitely worth the investment for me.

I gotta say, I am more than pleasantly surprised with this boot. A few years back, I tried an early women’s version by Simms, and hated it. This is the most comfortable boot I have ever tried and I have used all three of the top three brands.

In addition, the lace system is the best I’ve ever experienced – easy to tighten and easy to loosen, and stays tied. The toe box is nicely roomy but doesn’t feel sloppy, so neoprene fits well, there’s no undue pressure, room to move, but no sliding around.

I have put miles on the boot, and they are holding up very well. The support is great, yet they are very light. I really love this boot and already ordered another pair, so that if they quit making it, I’ll have a back up for a few seasons.

I put studs in it made by a competitor, but they have not fallen out and the traction with studs is terrific.

Unfortunately size 11 was too small – too tight and not long enough. The representative said ladies sizes were based on wearing waders and were true to size (no need to go a size larger) – I believe the men’s boot I bought from Simms several years ago fit better – slightly wider and longer.

I had to return these ladies boots, however I am still awaiting confirmation about my return even with tracking information sent to Simms support team a week ago. Probably due to these challenging times Simms is not manning the service emails as much.

Caution on purchasing until everyone is fully staffed.

I have been using a version of these over ten years and couldn’t be happier. I have tried other brands during that time just to experiment and keep coming back to these favorites. The only reason I have ever replaced them is because I gave my original to my friend and guide in Belize.

They are comfortable to chase permit and stalk bones all day on the flats. I also use these on the Upper D’ in the drift boat when I don’t feel like wearing waders all day. For the amount of hours I have put these through they surpass my expectation for overall value.

Love my Christmas Island boots! Great fit and very comfortable to walk in. I use them over my stocking foot waders both on the ocean sand beach and the backsides of the inlet I fish. Zipper on the side is better than the boots I had before with the zipper in the front.

Less sand in the zipper. I also use the Orvis gravel/sand guards with the boots to eliminate the sand issue. Water drains out of the boot quickly making it easier to walk along the beach. This is important because I do walk to a lot of out of the way spots to escape the crowds.

I highly recommend these boots.

Purchased these booties on the recommendation of a guide as well as folks who are experienced bonefish anglers. I took these along to Turks and Caicos for my first bonefish trip. They were super comfortable and performed flawlessly during hours of wading on the flats.

I also wound up wearing them on the boat the remainder of the day as they were more comfortable and solid on the casting deck than the boat shoes I was wearing beforehand. Super easy on and off and they drain and dry nicely.

They were also very packable. Highly recommend and can’t wait to use them again!.

To whom it may Concern, I am from a family very dedicated to fly fishing, three generations so far. We fly fish for many different species of southern and northern hemisphere fish. We have fished much of the Australian species and associated habitats.

We have fished New Zealand (mainly south island), Colombia, Northern America, Canada and Alaska………The falklands are on the to do list, too. We are seasoned fisher people. I am so disappointed to report to you that my Orvis PRO Wading boots are the worst piece of Orvis fishing equipment, I have had my misfortune to buy and use.

It is nowhere near the Calibre of the outstanding orvis equipment that I have used over many past years. To be fair my Orvis PRO wading boots are exceptionally well made! But good design and ergonomic they are not.

A day of trying to walk and wade creates a terrible experience for me. I never had this experience with Korkers or Simms………. My feet are still sore a week later after fishing the Ovens and Bucklands rivers here in Victoria, Australia.

Since international borders are opening, owing to a positive change to international Covid restrictions……we are viewing to visit USA to fish there ……. So should I continue with these very expensive boots? I am tempted to sell them and not return to the orvis shelves.

I am so disappointed, Orvis!.

I suppose it’s possible to build a better wading boot, but it certainly isn’t necessary. Convience. Check: so easy to get into and remove I didn’t even need to use those fantastic loops Comfort. Check: The Boa fit system allows for a dialed in fit whether using waders or wet wading.

Comfortable in the river, solid and stable walking up and down steep slopes to access the water Traction. Oh Baby!!!! Felt like I had suction cups on the bottom of my boots. I did get the studs and do recommend them.

Durability. Too early to tell. I’ve only used them two days Summary. The performance of these boots blew my mind. Exceeded expectations from soup to nuts. Ankle issues were noted in other reviews. My inside right ankle does not articulate with the ankle space in any of my boots, ski, or backpacking.

I inserted a Dr. Scholls heel lift into my right boot prior to initial use and experienced no ankle discomfort. Stud installation was simple and easy. I used a 1/4 socket and variable speed drill. Experienced not damage to the studs.

I had to walk over several yards of large boulders to access the water. No damage to the studs occurred. I experienced one possible minor issue. There was some insignificant friction at boot top when wet wading.

I think this could easily be addressed with a higher and thicker sock under my wet wading socks. I did walk a couple of miles with no serious adverse effects however. You nailed it with this boot Orvis.

I have recently picked fly fishing back up after 18 years. I have tried on just about every boot so far trying to find one that gives me the support I need (old paratrooper with bad ankles and knees) and had terrible experiences trying to find them online.

Luckily, I have an Orvis store in my hometown of Roanoke, Va and went down there to get some professional help. Everyone on staff there, Ryan the manager, Sara, Mike and Tmac were incredible over the course of 4 visits to try on everything and to make sure they work with my waders (also Orvis).

I just spent 4 hours in a rocky and slippery stream in the mountains of VA and the boots (unstudded) were better than any other boots I have bought. The BOA system is amazing and the comfort of the boots just got better the longer I wore them.

I recommend these boots without reservation. Best on the market and the Orvis customer service takes it over the top.

These fit so well it is like hands are holding your feet as you walk across oyster beds. I normally wear a women’s 10/men’s 8. I chose the men’s size 9 and wear these booties without a sock. Super easy to pull on/off as you jump in or out of the water.

The zipper is sturdy and the soles are grippy and durable. 10/10 recommend if you kayak/wade fish.

They’re nice boots. Hard to get on without sock. Def order a size up. I wear 10. 5 ordered 11, 11’s were tight. Re ordered 12’s and they were gold. I do wish the neoprene was water proof, the rubber is though.

I’m using them as my winter boat show. They kept my toes warm but I’m a sun lizard from Phoenix. Wore them for a whole day and only the tops of my feet started to ache. Not terribly. Hopefully they break in a little.

Hope this helps. One and the 11’ were grey and the 12’s were olive. Matched the boat better!.

I am surprised Simms still sells these booties. I trashed a pair in 30 days of use on a mix of sand, coral and rocks. In reply to an earlier negative review Simms wrote that these booties are intended for use on sand flats.

Simms omitting to mention that in their sales literature. Warning: When used on sand the booties fill up with sand which makes for very uncomfortable wading. I requested that Simms gives a credit for the booties which I would use to upgrade to their Flat Sneakers.

Simms declined this, reasoning that it was not a material fault. In the end my embarrassed local tackle shop gave the requested credit on their own account. Very poor customer service.
