20 Best Wood Floor Shine (2022 Updated)

I have fifteen year old high gloss floors which have held up really well but the transition strip between the wood and the tile had become dull. The Minwax Hardwood Reviver was great at bringing the luster back to the wood strips! I love that it is water based which makes it easy to apply and not smell too bad.

I cleaned the strips well and let them dry before wiping on the minwax. Since I just needed a small area I used old tee shirt strips to apply and then trashed them after. After drying the wood strips looked great and it did not alter the color of the wood! I have plenty left to touch up as needed.

Seals & shines! We purchased a home with a worn wood floor in kitchen. We plan to install new non-wood flooring eventually but want to protect wood floor from further damage. This product is ideal for our needs, protecting and sealing until we select new flooring.

If you want a different looking floor, this is NOT for you but if you seek to protect and shine up a worn floor, then this is perfect! Easy to apply & spreads easier than Bona similar product. Highly recommend!.

Laminate floors had been neglected for quite some time so I decided to revive them. I found the Rejuvenate products at Home Depot and figured I would give them a try as the specified they worked on laminates.

WOW! I am impressed. The cleaner worked well enough on its own but once application of the Restorer made the floors look amazing. I will be using this for the future and looking for other Rejuvenate products! Thanks Rejuvenate!.

I have used rejuvenate before and always had excellent results. The polish and cleaning products are specifically designed and sold for different applications: all types of floor cleaner, wood floor cleaner and polish.

Each design is well matched for the type of surface you are working with. It seems much more concentrated than general products that I have used. It smells good and dries rapidly which is very helpful for large surfaces.

The office vinyl flooring was damaged with lots of white stains. As people walked around on it, salted snow from the shoes made white stains everywhere over the floor. I tried to clean up using many different kinds of cleaner including hot water and vinegar but it remained on the floor.

Finally, I used this product and amazingly the floor has been restored like new.

We installed Bella Cera Ruscello GuardaValla engineered hardwood flooring throughout our home several years ago. It comes with a 50 year warranty on the Satin finish. A couple of years ago my wife started applying Bona High-Gloss Polish every few months.

It looks great at first, then over time we started seeing cloudiness and marks. We tried simple ways to clean it, but even the Bona Floor Cleaner wouldn’t clean the cloudiness and marks Their customer support even suggested buying the Bona Polish Remover, but we were at the point if never applying any Bona product again.

We finally called in a professional floor cleaning company who stripped off all the polish and buffed the original flooring, leaving us our original beautiful Satin flooring. It took them 3 1/2 hours and cost us $750 to restore the flooring to it’s original luster.

We will never use any Bona product on our floor again. Just a damp micro fiber pad. We finally called in a 5-star professional floor cleaning company.

I recently bought Bona wood cleaner and I bought a bottle of polish as well after reading the back of the polish and seeing no warnings about using it on pre-treated flooring. I loved the cleaner. I tried the polish on half of my floor because I thought it would enhance the already subtle shine that my pre-treated wood floor has.

WRONG MOVE! Do NOT put this polish on a pre-treated floor or any floor that is already shiny. It created a thin film of gray haze. It was so noticeable next to the half of the floor that I had not used it on.

After trying to order the polish remover online, I found that it was not available at Amazon, Lowe’s, Home Depo, Walmart, nowhere! I called Bona and told them my story. At first they wanted to tell me to put more polish on and that I hadn’t put enough on.

I would not listen to that. Then they sent me a free bottle of polish remover which I was pleased about. My husband and I had to get down on our hands and knees doing small sections at a time, lots of work, arm pain, back issues, to get that polish off our floor.

It took about 10 hours and ibuprofen. Be very very cautious of the polish. It SHOULD be clearly marked on the back “DO NOT USE ON PRE-TREATED WOOD FLOORS”. It is not marked. Further, when I went online I found many other horror stories from people.

I will buy their cleaner again! I loved it! I will never buy their polish again and I warn all of you to be very very careful. They say to use on a small area first, but they do not give enough warning to use it on a very small area, let it completely dry, and then compare it to the before.

These changes need to be made within corporate Bona.

I bought this product and applied according to directions. Any drop of water left a ring where the wax looks like it has disintegrated. Called Bona about problem and said I wanted to take off the wax because it looked so bad.

Bought Bona product to remove and it only partially takes it off so now I have an entire kitchen, dining room and hallway with areas of wax on and areas with wax off. It has totally ruined my very expensive hardwood floors.

Please do yourself a favor and don’t even apply in the first place. You will regret it and spend a lot of money applying and then partially removing the wax.

I bought this product to use on wood look tiles, at first I was pleased with the lovely shine and color of the tile. Then life happened. My husband sat of the bar stools in the kitchen = scratched surface (I let it cure for 2 days before using the stools) then my dog had an accident = finish disappeared in the shape of her urine puddle.

The finish has continued to scratch easily. I emailed rejuvenate and they did reply is a short amount of time but the reply was to let to floor cure for 2-3 days before sliding furniture over it (areas that had not been used for 4 days wore off in a similar fashion).

They also said that dog urine will remove the surface – this is not mentioned on the web page or bottle that I could find. I will be removing this product from my floors. Please note the two about considerations when using this product.

It may have worked better on wood floor but not the tile despite being on of the valid floor types.

I recently changed from carpet to laminated hardwood floors. before i used tgis product my floor had no luster or shine. I love it. It keeps the shine and leaved no streaks. It is meant to be used on laminated abd hard wood floors.

We just pulled some old carpet up from the 1980’s and had old hardwood floors underneath that has stains and scratches. We’re going to use this to clean them hopefully into decent shape til we can afford to have them refinished.

Love all zep products.

I am a housekeeper for several families and i have had issues with “grocery store” cleaners as they always left me doing more follow up cleaning. I found Zep cleaners at Lowes and decided to give them a try.

One client has over 3000 sq feet of wood floors for me to ensure are kept clean and shiny. This product answered that call. For the first time the floor looks just as beautiful the week after i have cleaned it as I did the day it was done.

Gone are the foot prints, the smears smudges and marks that come from everyday life. Other floor cleaners left the floors a nightmare. My floor cleaning time has been cut in less than half and financially it is a huge plus.

I will never go to anything else.

I do like this floor cleaner. Do i love it? No. I like that i only have to spray it down on the floor and then mop it in! It’s nice and easy. I have found, it works best for me, to take a bucket of plain hot water and then use my cleaner like normal, then use my hot water to rinse my mop in-between sections.

I also found when i do my normal little sections, there ends up being streaky spots on my wood floors. So, i now do the floors in little sections per usual, and then before i move onto the next section, i do long nice strokes and then move on and i do that until the floor is clean.

They’re was still some streaks and stuff, but overall it’s better than other products I’ve used before. I would say, try it if you want! It may work better for you than for me. I did have two bottles and i will use them, I’m just not sure if I’ll be buying more when they’re gone! 🤷.

I’ve used QS Floor Finish for almost 20 years on my apartment building’s unit’s wood floors. Tenants are usually not ‘kind’ to apartments but this floor finish stands up to the toughest of them. The floors are scrubed & cleaned with an oil soap then at least 2 coats of QSFF using a lambskin applicator (the more coats the greater the shine & protection).

It drys like, in 20 mins, so wait time between coats is short. When a potential tenant views the apartment, they LOVE the flooring! My units were never vacant for very long. Quick Shine played an integral part in my leasing strategy!K.

I used this product on my kitchen (laminate) and bathroom (tile) floors for the first time, two coatings. The shine was good at first, but walking left permanent dull paths on the floors in just a few days.

A week after the application I mopped the floors with warm water, and the floor finish started to peel off immediately, leaving a streaked mess behind. It took many hours to remove it and the kitchen floor is now damaged.

This purchase was a total waste of money and my time. I will never buy anything of that product line again.

I used Murphy’s oil and nothing else for the past 8 years, unless I was prepping them to be waxed. I love Murphy oil so much, I use it on all my wood furniture including cabinets. I allways loved the shine and the way it cleaned.

The only thing I didn’t like was the smell. I need something that smells nice and cleans well. So I decided to go the all natural way. I heard a lot of good things about method cleaning products. So I decided to try it.

When I received it, I was very anxious to try it. I followed the instructions on the floor cleaner to a tee. Started to use it and immediately I loved the smell. Omg it smelled so good. Remind me when I use to use old English.

Smells just like it. But that is all it has going for it! I never saw something clean so horrible! When it dried my floor looked cleaned at a glance. But when I really looked, it was still a little dirty and left a Horrible sticky (yes you are reading correctly) and filmy/grungy look.

I am not joking when I say, you will get a better shine from pine sol or mr clean and yes I do realize neither do a good job. Do your self a favor and don’t buy into those fake reviews, cause it can’t possibly clean and give your floors a nice shine.

I so wanted to like this because it smelled so good. So I had my husband try it. Thinking I did something wrong. Nope same thing happened to him. Horrible stuff don’t waste your money! Ps I never write reviews unless i absolutely love the products.

Witch I absolutely hate this product.

Although this (sadly) is not my favorite mopping solution when it comes to cleaning, I have to say that the reason it lost a star was actually the scent. I do not know what the people over at method think almonds smell like, but this stuff smells so strongly of baby oil or baby powder that I was suspicious that I was mopping with baby oil.

Not only that, it was SO STRONG for over 24 hours. Everytime I left the house and came home – baby oil. So much of it. I thought I was crazy so I went and opened a bottle of baby oil, smelled it, then opened the mop solution and smelled it.

They really do smell almost identical. So, if you do not like the smell of baby oil I do not recommend this. If you do like the smell of baby oil, then I highly recommend this. I just cannot get past it.

Works well and has a very light almond scent. It’s not overpowering. It cleans ok. It says you do not need to wet your cloth but I find that it’s helpful. The squirt and mop I don’t find useful as it cleans just that spot.

For a full clean you’ll have to squirt often and use more product. I ended up using the product in a sprayer bottle to distribute the product better and use less. This works well for in between quick cleans.

I’ll still refer to my cleaning soap and scrub mop for a more detailed clean. With 2 big dogs that are active and get dirty often and always manage to get past me at the door, this is ok but not the best substitute for a good scrub.

We purchased the Pledge Clean It Gentle Wood Floor Cleaner and Revive Floor Gloss to use on our 20 year old Tarkett engineered laminate flooring. We had regularly used Bona floor cleaner but wanted to kick the finish up a notch.

Applied per instructions, we were pleased with the performance of the cleaner. The Revive is another story. We found that the best way to apply it was with a cotton Sh-Mop system that we have used for years with the Bona.

Application had to be rather quick as the Revive tended to ‘dry out’ and smear without really drying out. Afterwards, it can be said that the floors were indeed shinier BUT the positives end there. Even though the floors are more shiny, they left a finish that is much more “grabby” without being sticky.

There is no slide to the treated areas as on the original floor finish making chairs MUCH more difficult to push up to the table. We have used semi-hard plastic slides on the chair legs for years – they screeched and were very hard to push after using the Revive.

I then replaced the plastic tips with felt pads which fared no better. Even though our floors did have areas that were more worn than others, we both agree that that original finish is/was preferred rather than the Revive disaster.

We will not be making that mistake again – keep the Revive for making glitter Christmas ornaments and off your floors! SC Johnson, any response?.

We have Tarkett engineered laminate flooring that is ~20 years old and it had become worn and dull looking. After years of using Bona, we tried the Mop & Glo product which turned out to be a huge mistake.

After that initial shock we tried a Pledge product with equally bad results. Saw the Rejuvenate commercial and decided to give it a try – after all, if it didn’t work, we’d only be out 10 bucks. The final results are WOW! Not only are our floors clean, now they shine like we’re sure they did when they were new! It is easy to apply with a bonnet mop, goes on smoothly and without streaking, removes scuff marks, dries quickly and looks fantastic! We joke about how “squeaky clean” (because the floors ‘squeak’ when we walk on them) our floors are now.

I use the floor cleaner (which I really like) and thought I’d give this a try. I thought it was a floor cleaner that would add shine. Instead it left a very nasty, uneven, visible glue like film on my ceramic tiles which I will likely need to pay someone to remove.

I’ve mopped over it several times with dawn, vinegar, and Lysol trying to remove it myself with no luck. the label needs to be more clear that this will leave a film on your floors and is NOT a cleaning product.

In order to try and shine my laminate I bought this product. But I have to use a separate cleaner first. It does not remove smudges. They look gone wet,but once it dries they are still there. I have a few areas in my home that are one way in or out so the floors there need a little extra attention.

But not with this stuff. I’ve also done another review for the bonnets, which I wasn’t happy with either. Im going back to the old stuff I had. It works. Should never have expperimented, I’ve just wasted money.

I did not read reviews for any Rejuvenate product before purchasing, but I did read their packaging and its very misleadin.

My parquet floor has taking a lot of abuse over the last five years from my little girl, so needed a revive. After lots of reviews i selected this polish. Goes on easy with an applicator and dries within the hour.

However i wouldn’t call this a gloss effect, more a satin sheen. But three applications and the scratches are almost gone and the floor looks much better.

Best wood floor polish I have bought. Brings floors up shiny without any build up. Will always buy.

ONLY USE BONA. We had new hard wood flooring laid throughout our flat 5 years ago and have used Bona cleaner and polish from new flooring being made , this is because the floor fitter recomended this product.

Floor still looks like new.

What a beautiful finish with very little effort. This week I set out to hand scrub and “wax” my first floor hardwoods that looked dull and dirty. Washed and wiped the floor and reached in the cabinent and found Quick Shine for high traffic hardwoods…I usually use Bruce, but thought I’ll use this up first.

Well I did a substantial portion of the floor before I ran out. So I used the Bruce next…side by side there’s no contest. Bruce made my prepped floor look dull and old next to Quick Shine with its beautiful gloss and like new floor finish.

Soooo after several choice words, I threw the other one in the trash and ordered a large container of Quick Shine. Do yourself a favor. Your hard work should produce beautiful results. In my floor photo the left and upper part of the photo shows a dull worn out look, and the Quick Shine area is on the right and looks like a new floor.

After my husband passed away I moved into an older house with original but very sticky waffle covered hardwood floors. I did my research and after trying many products, none worked for removing the sticky waffle residue.

To make it short, Goo B Gone, Lysol Scrubber sponges, rags, and Quick Shine, made these old wood floors, look remarkably beautiful. So if you have this issue, you will need to get on your hands and knees, and remove the sticky residue with goobgone and with gentle lysol sponges.

You don’t need to pay for expensive floor cleaners. You will need to get down on your floor and do scrubbing and rinsing by hand. After all the sticky is gone, use this QuickShine. It’s been over two years since I did and these old hardwood floors are beautiful and shiny.

I recently received the product and am testing it on a small part of kitchen wood floor. The first app went on well but when dry did not leave the gloss I was hoping for. Granted, it has been over 10 years since the anything except a cleaning has been applied so I have applied a second coat and will see how that works.

Anything is better than nothing to try an preserve the wood flooring! Now – a couple of things. When applying, be careful that not too much of the refresher is squirted on the floor at once. Hard to do because refresher is pretty thin and comes “flying” out of the bottle.

Too much refresher is hard to smooth out. And if you don’t smooth it out all the way, that is when you will get white streaks. Practice I am sure will make perfect! Also, after you remove the sealer underneath the screw cap and gently rock the bottle back and forth, as instructed, before applying, the refresher WILL leak out from underneath the screw cap – at least that has been my experience.

I am looking forward to completing the kitchen wood floor, admittingly which have not taken proper care of the last 10 years, with this product.

I am beyond thrilled with this product. My biggest regret is spending money on the polisher products previously along with a Hoover Floormate. I received the Bona Refresher this afternoon and completed the family room and kitchen asap.

I used the Bona polish applicator pad making sure to rinse OFTEN. I have Versini Novara Tawny Brown Birch Engineered Hardwood Flooring which was installed in 2012. This product has the areas I’ve completed looking like a new install.

I am proud of myself for taking a chance on this Bona Refresher! The pictures show my dry kitchen floor and another view showing the difference with an area not completed. Make note the areas I applied the product were clean and dust free.

We have natural oak floors, with a 10 year old house and they were showing a little wear. With 3 cats, and 2 kids I really didnt want to get them refinished yet, so I thought I would try this after much research.

I followed the directions on the bottle exactly and let them dry overnight after cleaning with bona hardwood cleaner (which I normally use for cleaning). I would also buy the exact applicator pad recommended, the pro series microfiber applicator pad, NOT the reg bona mop pad, and rinse it well before first use to remove any loose fuzz or lint.

Also dont lift the mop until the end bc it will leave some bubbles. I also used a paintbrush along the edges and corners. I will definitely use this again!.

I just used this product on my hardwood floor and am absolutely thrilled with the results. My floor was scraped and polished 5 years ago when we move into our house and with kids running around and furniture being moved frequently it was scratched up and lost most of its shine.

This product went way beyond what I thought it would do. It greatly reduced the visibility of the scratches and the floor has a nice shine now. Obviously not comparable with a professional waxing job but I was amazed with the results of $15 and a half hour of work.

I had to do the floor in segments because you need to walk through it to get in and out of the house. I moved all the funiture, mopped well with my steam mop, then cleaned the floor on my hands and knees with bona hardwood cleaner.

I then took a clean rag, wet it and squeezed it out, poured some of this product on a small section at a time, and rubbed it in with the rag. I did half the room then an hour later (when you could walk on the half I’d done) I did the other half of the room.

An hour after that I went back and did a second coat on the first side of the room (The instructions say you can do a second coat after two hours). After another hour I did the second coat on the other side.

This way we were able to walk through the room on one side or the other at all times. I waited 24 hours as per the instructions to move the furniture back. I am amazed by the results!.

If I could give this no stars, I would. This product leaves HORRIBLE build up. We have spent the last month on our hands and knees scraping build up off my wood floors with pizza cutters. Even the strongest cleaners and chemicals wouldn’t lift it.

Throw it away and use vinegar and water to clean, and a little baby oil to shine. VERY disappointed in this product.

I use this product for my vinyl kitchen floors. It gets the dirt off and leaves them with a little bit of shine. It helps prevent food spills from sticking and it protects them from sun damage as well.

(One addition note– I haven’t use this product much since they changed the bottle design– I hope they didn’t also change the formula at the same time. ).

Meh. Results are mediocre. I have laminate flooring and it didn’t impress me much at all. Good thing it’s cheap otherwise I would be even more disappointed. You can practically get the same results with Murphys Soap.

Mop and Glo does smell good though, just open a window as it is strongly scented.

I love how this smells. One of the main reasons i bought it the first time. BUT it is really good for our engineered floorboards. Gives them a nice sheen and a lovely smell. It’s not the cheapest cleaner, but i don’t mind, since the result is great.

I gave this a five star because it is one of the best floor restore there is. It leaves a beautiful shine on your hardwood floor that last for a long time even in high traffic areas, well worth the purchase and I highly recommend this product.

Let me begin by saying, Cinderella, I am not. I hate mopping my floors, but am also driven by an obsession for a clean house. This means, the only “right” way of mopping, is on my hands and knees with a sponge and bucket.

Needless to say, most products don’t live up to their claims, or their price. This one, however, does both. It left my hardwood floors positively glowing, in a very natural way. I have non-waxed oak floors, and they are gorgeous now.

It did just as advertised~nice, shiny wood floor. And it’s holding up well with regular traffic so I look forward to applying it again when necessary but don’t see it happening for quite a while. Good stuff.

My floors are quite old and I have never refinished them in the 33 years I’ve lived in my home so, the floors are decent but quite porous. That being said, the Bona High Gloss Finisher did make them much better but didn’t give them the high gloss finish I was hoping it would.

I put on 3 coats over 3 days and it definitely looks better. The product is not meant to, it’s meant to be used on pre-finished floors to restore their shine. So, considering my floor’s condition, I would say it did pretty well.

I’ll see if it lasts.

Except Bona! It does not leave a sticky film like some of the other cleaners and leaves the floors looking as if they were just laid. Well mine has been within a year, but it keeps it’s natural look.

I have been searching for a product that meets the needs of a wooden floor, this is definately it. I love this product so much, though I have purchased many others trying to get the right one, they are all just sitting and will not use any of those unless it is an emergency situation.

Love Bona products. I have only used Bona floor cleaner and polish for three years since we bought our retirement home. The only product I would use on my floors because it holds up to lots of foot traffic and still retains it shine for weeks.
