20 Best Wood For Fencing (2022 Updated)

The height is perfect for my balcony fence. However, the material is a bit flimsy and you can still see through the panel. I ordered a faux vine covering and ziptied it to this panel and it looks much better.

Still not bad for the price! It is still holding up despite heavy rain recently.

I’m using this fencing to temporarily close off my driveway and keep my older dogs inside. The fencing is more rigid than I anticipated (I was thinking it would be more fabric-like) but it is perfect.

The individual reeds are rigid enough that the fence stands up on its own and is just attached to the side fencing by clips. When the wind blows the fence leans, so I’ve just rolled a trash bin over to the fence and used a bungee to provide a central support.

I give it five stars because it does what I knew it would. It’s transparent, but that’s understood before purchase. It’s been windy and so far hasn’t broken. I’d get two and double up to lose transparency.

It stands up straight and doesn’t bend from wind. If that’s all ok for you then this product is perfect. I used the knitting from the packing to tie it my my balcony railing and it’s holding it just fine.

These little fences are just what I needed to keep passing dogs out of my flower beds. Obviously they aren’t going to be as high quality as if you built your own full fence with poured posts and everything, but if you want a quick, prefabricated solution that isn’t curly twirly style, these may work for you.

This is beautiful fencing. I made me a backyard flower garden with these. They aren’t sturdy enough for a dog lot by no means but they won’t fall when leaning or pushing on them. I love the look of them also.

My friends have gave many compliments already, just wait until I have flowers and trees all planted and blooming. These are great quality. very happy.

I was trying to find a long-lasting wood fence to place between my neighbor’s backyard and mine to get some privacy but I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a new backyard fence, this was the most affordable one with very decent quality and it looks fabulous aesthetically speaking.

Works well as semi transparent fencing; we placed it in treed area and tied to the metal fencing of a public pathway. Blends into the environment. We like it.

I was doing some fresh landscaping on a smaller area of our yard, and realized that the neighbor’s chain link fence was detracting from the feeling of the area. The peeled wood fence panels are much more attractive, and give us a bit more privacy.

On some of the panels, the wires at the ends of the panels were too short to be really useful. It’s a challenge to work with the big floppy panels, but worth the effort.

I bought 4 greenes 4×4 beds to turn into 5, 4×4 beds in a horseshoe shape. These would be decent for single 4 x 4 bed, but when the beds are lined up in a row, there is a several inch gap where the post heads are.

Any critter from bunny size down can get in there so we have to find a new solution for in between the critter guards. On top of that, they also weren’t very well thought out for raised beds. They need much longer stakes.

We had to use a rubber mallet to hammer them down into the soil underneath the bed which pushed the dirt into the wire part of the fencing causing it to come apart. We ended up have to use a brad nailer to attach them to the sides of the beds, which defeats the purpose of why I chose these, now my small child is unable to help me in the garden.

Add onto that that it doesn’t even effectively keep critters out, in my opinion it has been a big waste of money. I might recommend it for the single 4×4 bed, but you’ll still have to make some modifications to secure it.

The fences are great for my raised bed gardening. I was experiencing problems with rabbits eating my vegetable plants until I found these. They work great and as a 70 year old woman I appreciate something that doesn’t require assembly.

So far I have purchased 5 sets and will purchase more should I need them. My only negative comment is that they are 45 inches long not 48 inches. I had space on each end of the raised bed that wasn’t protected by fence.

I worked that out and overall am very pleased with this purchase.

I wanted to install a few raised garden beds but didn’t want to buy lumber and screw it together. I wanted something that looked a little nicer but wasn’t super expensive. This product fits the bill perfectly! It’s made quite well and it very easy to assemble, and it’s made in the USA!!!!! I used a rubber mallet to gently tab the boards in place, and used a tape measure to make sure it was square and level.

Once filled up with dirt, it is very solid and will meet my needs. I’m very happy with this product! Tip: Before assembling the product, I put clear wood sealer on the exterior of the boards with hopes of extending the life of the boards.

I did not want to put chemicals on the inside of the boards since I’m growing vegetables but you could if you’re growing flowers etc.

I was enthusiastic about buying a product made in the US but my enthusiasm quickly fell. The quality is poor. The boards cracked and the top decorative cap completely cracked in half. The wood is rough.

For the cost of this product, it does not meet my expectations. I will comment that the product is easy to assembly. Unfortunately, I purchased two other beds from a company that produces them in China.

These beds are sturdier and better quality.

I was going back and forth between buying a garden bed and making one. For me and my skill level, it made sense to purchase this year! This bed came in good condition, a little splintery in places but nothing a small sand wouldn’t fix.

My main question/concern is getting the decorative corner pieces on. There is no way to connect them from the kit itself. Maybe wood glue or a double ended screw? Purchased a second bed regardless, I have many more plants to get outside.

I purchased over 30 packs of the dog ear pickets in carolina cedar color. Installation was easy and it really looks great. Used it as a barrier between my neighbors place and mine. I had originally installed regular 6inch wood pickets but they warped within 6 months.

I think thee LP composite will last much longer.

For the past several seasons we have closely monitored the durability of our LP performance venting. It has surpassed the levels are salesperson had communicated to us. Great, great fencing

Really good quality wood, heavy duty and sturdy. They have little points sharpened on one end so you can just pick them into the ground. Only problem I had was that they werent all smooth- some of the wood was jagged on corners from uneven cutting and they weren’t sanded down.

Definitely west work gloves while ha fling these, or y might get slivers.

Really strong and versatile. I use them for all sorts of things around the garden: secures chicken wire to keep critters out of my veggies, helps stabilize my tomato cages, gives the green beans something to climb on.

Hubby has also decided they are great for marking off where he’s planning on putting in some fencing. Had to buy more!.

Used these stakes along with welded wire for a temporary flowerbed fence to keep the dogs from digging. I have short dogs so these were the perfect length after sinking them down a foot. Hopefully they will winter well and last until I can put up a permanent fence.

Just got these in. The pricing beats the big box stores as does the fact that the bamboo is slightly thicker than those other stores. It make the fencing ( although still somewhat sheer) a little less see through than the thinner versions they carry.

We’ have a better idea of just how much more private it’s makes our fence between our house and our neighbors (who runs an Air B&B) house. He trimmed all the shrubbery and tree branches so his rental and typically hard partying tenants have a clear view of our once private backyard.

Real fencing was just too expensive. Once attached to the hurricane fence between the two houses we feel hopeful we can regain some of our privacy back with this option. Here’s hoping.

I made this purchase to add some privacy. However, I was expecting the bamboo’s diameters to be larger. Overall they look good and does provide privacy. The product quality is good. Shipping/Delivery was quick as promised.

Installed today this along the chain link fence we share with our neighbors. They’re lovely but our outdoor dining table is up against the fence and sometimes it felt like we were eating in their yard.

I put this up with bungee cords and zip ties and it provided character and privacy without completely obstructing the view. I took it down as the cold weather kicked in and will put it back up in the spring.

I doubt it will last more than a couple of seasons before needing to be replaced but it’s still more way affordable than the 3000 estimate to build a new fence!.

Yep looks just like the picture. The wire isnt particularly taut, so you may want to wind it occasionally with a piece of wire or something. Top and bottom are cut very evenly with little or no fraying.

Actual height is about 511. The bamboo is extremely tough and will likely last for several years.

Very pleased with this fence panel. This is my 2nd time ordering as they tend to fade. It serves my purpose to cover an old fence. With the incredulous price of lumber now, this will do very nicely for now.

This little fence was perfect for a project I created with my daughter. It was easy to bend and cut and looks super cute. I would recommend it to anyone who has a project that needs a cute fence.

This tiny fence is exactly what I was looking for to finish my Easter Shadow Box. The only problem is that the store only had one. The first store did not have any. The fence is easily cut to fit your needs.

This Ozco bracket was simple to install, easy to attach 2×4’s to, and strong. Just remember to install starting from the bottom of the post if you plan to have more that one rail per post! I used three per post and pulled string to align the topmost bracket on each post.

The string represented the eventual rail placement so once the top rail was located (following the contour of the land in as straight a line as possible – up/down between posts or across several posts) I then marked the top bracket and measured down 24” for second bracket and 48” for the bottom bracket.

Top bracket was generally within 3-4” of the top of the post (posts were set 24” into the ground leaving 72” above ground). The bottom bracket was generally about 20” above the ground. With the bottom of the fence boards planned to be 3-4” above the ground, that left the bottom of the fence board about 14-15” from the bottom of the lowest rail.

Brackets are strong and easy to install. If you are planning to encase the metal post with fence boards for a total wood fence look, I suggest using one of the other Ozco brackets that are pre drilled for 2×4’s for wrapping posts.

I am using this product for another than it’s intended purpose. I am replacing the stringers on my wooden fence. The poles are fine and have a nut and bolt holding the stringer. Using this product attached to the pole in the appropriate location 90 degrees from its intended use, I can set a 16′ stringer on it and the product will hold it in place while I drill the the hole in the new stringer.

This allows me to replace the fence stringers without any assistance.

The brackets are great but they were to small for my application. If I could have used them I would have.

I bought 26 of these a number of years back. I just checked and every one of them is straight. Wish I could say the same for the four I just purchased. I’m doing an annex. I know from previous experience that these posts will last forever.

Just wish the new ones were somewhat straighter. Otherwise, the people at my TSC are very helpful and friendly. They always have what I need and the price is always right, even for crooked fence posts.

Load and pick your own post, do not let them do it. They are inconsistent in size and shape. Some are nealy 5″ some are 3″. Alot are bent, twisted and have bad spots. Be selective. They are treated but not well.

If you want them to last bathe or paint the entire post in used motor oil. Then paint tar on the ground contact portion and the flat part of the top. Its alot of extra work but the pole wolnt rot fora very long time.

First of all, if you read the Q&A’s people ask “how many posts to a bundle?” The answer says 88. That is not true. The bundles at the store look nothing like the picture. There are 48 posts to a bundle.

Second, I’ve purchased these posts in the past, and this time I was surprised by how poor quality the posts were. It appears that there is a new supplier. The old posts were from a mill in West Branch, MI and they were pretty good (4 stars).

The new supplier is from Evart, MI and the posts are junk (1 star). The size should be 2/8 not 4/5. They’re misshapen, and crooked and just overall junk, FOR THE SAME PRICE. I was lucky to find enough posts at my local store from the old supplier so I didn’t have to endure the junk posts they were trying to sell.

Please do not ship with Aramex, products are great. Aramex it not.

Great fencing idea for the pool – looks great

I do like the composite fencing because it adds a little character to private screens. However, I bought one piece and am using it as decor on the bottom of my wood deck…and not just fencing.

Love my panels. My carpenter made a solid frame of 2×4 and installed the panels against it. We used 6 and installed on my patio.
