These roasting logs are nothing short of amazing! They really are perfect for using in our fire pit. We had a blast roasting brats and s’mores, and these made it so much easier. The fire was ready in about 4 minutes, and it lasted for awhile.

The instructions were super clear. There is enough to roast two separate times, since you need to use 3 logs each time. I think this is a nice splurge, and really a decent value. I would highly recommend this product if you are having an outdoor party, or just for a simple memory-making evening for your family.

I think this product will be awesome when roasting marshmallows. It will definitely relieve my concerns using wood that could have chemicals getting into the food. I like the size and the smell. I can see using these all year round at our fire pit.

Living in Florida we don’t get many excuses to have a fire but these roasting logs were perfect for the family to cook a campfire dinner and dessert. Easy to use, no mess, and the fire lasted about an hour.

So many 1 stars and 5 stars. How can that be? It’s the all or nothing aspect of starting and keeping a fire going. Some can do it, some can’t. Why? Because too many people don’t know how to burn Bio Blocks.

They are a heavy, dense wood product made of compressed saw dust and nothing more. As such they don’t have any sharp edges or air pocket like real firewood has. They are the equivalent of a carved piece of hard wood as opposed to a rough split log.

They look easy to light because they’re small, but it takes lots of sustained high temperature heat directly on the blocks to get them lighted. If you think some rolled up papers and a few sticks are going to do it you’ll be unsuccessful.

Wax starter blocks or fat wood and lots of kindling are item your going to have to use. Once you get the block burning, and I mean really burning, you’ll understand the 5 star reviews. They’re long burning, very hot, and put out very little smoke.

If your not getting those results, we’ll, your not doing it right. It’s operator error, not an inferior product. So take others comments on how to start the blocks on fire and do what they say. If you’re an impatient type that want a quick and easy wax log fire, please don’t buy Bio Blocks!.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. Received this in the mail about a week ago and finally had the chance to use it last night since the temperature was a little chilly.

We put it under some sticks from around the yard to get them to burn. I am never too fond of these as some burn as long as stayed and many do not. This one said 3 hours. I didn’t time it exactly three hours, but after two and a half hours, it was still going and we were all inside after the three hour mark hit so I can’t be total certain.

It wasn’t a strong pine smell, but it was not a chemical smell either. It did take a little while for it to get going, but once it did, it had no problem catching the other sticks on fire. I don’t know if the price is justified, as I have used cheaper ones that worked just as well.

But maybe the lack of chemical smell is worth it. I will try these again in the future as so far I have had no bad experience with this brand.

This java log lit easily and quickly became an intense, bright, warm burn. However, that only lasted about 20-30 minutes and then the flames became tiny and dull and the heat was reduced to nothing. The remainder of the burn was like this, as if it was a dying flame.

To add insult to injury, it only burned for just under 2. 5 hours. We started it early to see it through to hopefully the full 4 hours (give or take) but ended up with a dull flame that fizzled out before the night really got started.

So incredibly disappointing for a log that is in the higher price range.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. The log smells like a chocolatey coffee explosion. It definitely gives off the aroma of a dark roast brewing. In my opinion, it does not start as easy as Dura-flame logs.

Once we got it going, though it did burn for a long time! I really did enjoy the smell though and it did eventually get the other wood burning.

Ordered it on-line for use under a small 300 lbs. wood burning stove that sits up on legs. I needed the board to protect a wooded floor from spilled embers. Received it in fair condition – kind of surprising given its awkward size and only being shipped in a simple cardboard box that is really just meant for in-store display.

It had a large scratch on its black finish but lucky for me I could hide that flaw under the stove. (Recommendation to TSC: Do not sell this on-line. The risk of shipping damage is too great, and customers are being setup for disappointment.

) Regarding that black finish, it looks reasonably substantial and should hold up well with age. General workmanship of the board was marginal. Its metal cover (looks to be about 18-gauge aluminum) is supposed to crimp over the edges of the underlying 0.

25-inch thick insulative board. Only about 50% of the perimeter of my cover was completely crimped, so I had to take pliers to rework the rest. Be aware that the crimped-over metal is sharp and could scratch your floor if you try to slide the board around to position it.

You also have to be careful when setting the stove on it as the metal cover could get dented or scratched in the process. Finally, it does look nice once I got it installed under the stove. No surprises were found in the one-page included specification/installation instructions – the TSC web site accurately described the product.

Note that I have not yet set a fire in the stove so I cannot comment about the board’s utility in actual use. It is probably a reasonable product for its cost, but if I needed to install another stove, I would probably fabricate a stove base using cement board and rugged ceramic floor tiles.

Arrival condition was rough. Dented. Also, rough metal border underneath. We had to cover it with duct tape to protect vinyl floor from getting scratched.

I bought this insulation board on-line and had it sent to the store. When I went to pick it up it was still in the box and the store clerk was acting extra nice and wanted to carry it out to my car. That was curious behavior as I’m certainly capable; it’s not very big and weighs less than 10 lbs.

Well when I got home (30 miles away) I discovered why the friendliness. The board was broken in two places as a result of rough handling. It item is still usable for my purpose and the return is not worth the hassle.

Used some of these firestarters a week or so ago when we finally had some company come over for a chat. Felt like we were in the woods camping and with these, the fire got started quickly. Thanks for having this product available and it shipped quickly as well.

Fatwood is an excellent chemical free fire starter. Only need a few pieces to get the kindling going. By buying in bulk the price is way better than only buying a pound or two at a time. It is waterproof, won’t spoil or go bad and the insects and other critters leave it alone.

I would have like to have seen a bit more marbling in the wood. The wood itself does not have that strong of an odor like some of the Fatwood i’ve bought in the past. However for the price I do believe it to be a good value.

For that reason I give it 5 stars.

This product, appears to be composed of a thin metal covering over a particle board substrate. It is flimsy, and in my opinion would provide no thermal barrier behind a wood stove, which was the purpose for which it was purchased.

I returned it and will search for another product.

Perfect! In the basement where everyone walks by and it is very nice. I was worried about sharp edges, but it is well built and nothing to worry about!

I bought this to put u see my pellet stove for inspection a d insurance purposes and it works great and is nice to look at. Gives me all the right clearances to pass inspection.

They arrived on a Sunday and I put them to use that day. My first impression was they were a bit messy. The box does not have support for each individual piece so the cubes just bounce around and dust come off.

Several of the pieces are broken apart which isn’t a big deal but you need to grab a few chunks when starting a fire. They are a bit harder to light than other fire starters that I have used. Need to hold the lighter on them for about 10 seconds before the flame holds.

After that they are off and fire will be ready in 10 to 15 minutes. They burn pretty clean. There is a pile of ash from the wood dust inside the cubes. Nothing crazy but more than I expected. At first I thought the price was a bit high but it’s actually a better value than the other fire starters that I have used.

These end up being about 20 cents per fire. Others I have used are about 25 cents per fire. Overall, I would probably buy again. But 50 will last me a while for sure. I’m curious to see how these hold us over time.

so if getting the fire started is your goal, this is your wood. However, I easily used the entire box in one sitting…so not great for a long slow burn. Wood is not dense and is very dry.

The small squares last the full stated twelve minutes and then some, burning very hot. Two items of note, they take extra time with the lighter getting them going versus cellophane wrapped products. Also, the square shape makes it easier to fall through the grill grate if you are not careful with placement and lighting.

A future enhancement could be to make them rectangular.

Cost is double what it should be! Burns too fast! Not much oak in it. The birch and cherry are horrible for firewood. Stick with Beech – Oak – Hickory if you want maximum time burning. maximum heat and best flavor from foods.

I bought this fire wood at Walmart it’s very good burning wood for camp fires and using it in fire pits. The only problem is it burns really fast so it’s best to use this as a fire starter. Than put in regular wood to burn.

This wood also helps with keeping mosquitoes and nets away. It smokes a lot. You can also buy it on amazon.

Paid over $30 w/ship charges for a bundle of wood being sold at HEB for $7. I feel so stupid. The ship charge was hidden with all other items ship free.

This stuff burns great and is all natural. My only complaint is that it does burn up a little quick.

I really wanted to love these fire logs from Pine Mountain. They have everything I was looking for, and smelled great even in the wrapper. What I found out after purchasing it, was it’s a good log, but needs some improvement.

My biggest complaint, it doesn’t stay lit unless you have the absolute perfect conditions. I followed the instructions, put the seam the right way, unwrapped the paper and used a good lighter with a big flame to light it.

The log did light, and it smoked, and it smoldered, and it. went out. I tried it again and it did the same thing. I finally figured out, to get it to stay burning it needed more oxygen then my normal “firewood”, so if I left my woodstove cracked it would stay burning.

Once it was burning, it smelled great and I would say I got about 3 hours out of it. I didn’t get a lot of “HEAT” from the product, but it was nice and crackling.

These fireplace logs are extremely convenient to use. I got one for our fireplace for Christmas Eve and it worked amazing. The log itself has great easy instructions that are easy to follow. The log itself is very easy to get lit and it stays lit for a great amount of time.

We were able to keep warm for hours in front of our fireplace which made Christmas Eve even more special being able to sit around a fire. It didn’t produce a lot of ash which was really great. Very pleased how well this log worked.

I got this product a few weeks ago and it was perfect during some of our colder days. I didn’t expect it to put off too much heat but I thought it would be nice for aesthetics. I was surprised at how much heat it did put off for just being a fire log though.

It did not leave too much mess behind and burned for three hours. I loved having it for Christmas morning when our house was colder. They were easy to light and I felt much safer burning the fire logs compared to burning real wood.

They also did not smoke up the house or cause a smoky smell.

Purchased to create a calm, relaxing atmosphere around the fireplace with the family for a special occasion and these worked perfectly. If you’re looking for a fire burning longer than a couple of hours, at most, then these are NOT the logs for you.

They worked exactly as described, they produce a nice flame that spreads evenly the length of the log, without the fear of embers popping out of the fireplace or having to use a poker to keep it going.

This is by far some of THE BEST fatwood!! I am a survivalist. I have gifted one single stick of this fatwood to my closest friends!. They have been impressed! Seriously! So. I can literally shave a few shivers from any of the fatwood.

We have been using Golden Fire Pellets for 3 years. I picked up a new pallet load Sept. 11, 2022. We are now into our second bag from that load and both bags have had an unacceptable amount of dust compared to Golden Fire Pellets over the last three years.

Since we pay more for Golden Fire Pellets we expect better quality. I hope our dust removal system keeps our feed auger from clogging.

We had been using Golden Fire for several years. However, we’ve noticed, more recently, that the pellet sizes vary, with some longer ones that have been causing some jamming and other issues. They do put out good heat; but the quality control on sizing appears to have slackened.

I have been burning these pellets for 3 years and they are by far the hottest and cleanest burning pellets I have used in the 10 years I have had my stove. I just wish the Gig Harbor location would take more care in how they store the bags.

This year the bags are either filthy dirty, covered in hay or both when they are loaded into my vehicle. Never been an issue until this year.
