20 Best Wood For Tables (2022 Updated)

I have a rather small dining area in my apartment and had a hard time finding a 36 inch round table that came with four chairs, so I ordered the four chairs separately on Hayneedle. com. I ordered the ladder back chairs made by the same company and they are a perfect match and fit for the table.

The table is really nice quality for the money and was a breeze to put together. I did it all by myself without any issues. I am thrilled with the way my new dining set looks and its really comfortable, too.

You would never know that this was not a pre-designed, pre-packaged set.

Table is decent quality and easy to assemble, but the color is way off compared to the picture. I was hoping for more of an antique or distressed white for the base, but as one other person mentioned, it is actually more of a yellow-ish tan color.

Not horrible enough to go through the hassle of returning, but definitely disappointing. The table top color is accurately shown in the picture — just the base color is off. Now that I see it in person, I understand why it is listed as “espresso almond,” since the top is espresso colored and the base is the color of the inside part of an almond.

Had I known the base wasn’t white (or even off-white), I would have ordered the all-white version of this table instead. Delivery was quick and easy, and the table was well-packaged.

Purchased for the height of table, color, style. This table arrives as a kit to build. White Paint quality is excellent. Person that drilled holes intended for screws made 2 mistakes, 1 long hole they drilled in wrong location and instead of starting over with a new piece of wood they continued to use it.

On another hole location they only drilled half way into the wood, NOT completely through, so you can NOT use the required screw provided to connect two pieces of wood together. They did NOT provide the right quantity of screws.

I chose to invest my time correcting their mistakes instead of packing up, returning and waiting for replacement.

I was not sure what I should expect whenever I buy made in china products. But this one really a surprise. The delivery was quick and on time. it looks exactly like in the photo. It comes with very clear and simple instructions.

And it’s the first time the parts come in a very organized manner. The foam package was wrapped in plastic bags so no mess would leave on the floor like the others. Only that there was a scratch on the surface and some minor bump at the corner.

Otherwise, it will surely be a 5-star.

Beautiful table but I keep hitting my knees and upper legs on the bit just underneath the table. Don’t know how many bruises I’ve accumulated already. Like the packaging – very neat and the polystyrene was wrapped in plastic so it didn’t break apart everywhere.

No need to include those cards though – why? Who would I post your company greeting cards too? What a waste of paper. Also, the paint or polish easily comes off with any bump. Exposes the white wood underneath.

lovely design and well built, very solid fitting with spare set of bolts just in case, all timber and easy to put together. delivery took longer than advertised but only a few days. rcommended for small dining room (or like my use study table perfect for laptop and 2 moniters).

The look was what I wanted but the surface is rough, the edges and corners extremely sharp. I’ve never had a pedestal table, having always had standard corner post legs. The single pedestal doesn’t provide enough leg room on the longer sides for chairs to slide fully underneath when not in use and your knees bang into it when seated.

The pedestal, itself, is too lightweight and doesn’t provide enough balance for the tabletop. If you put any amount of pressure on the edges, it starts to flip. There is also no way to adjust the legs so if your floor is even slightly uneven, it wobbles.

Lovely to look at but very impractical. Quite disappointed.

Had a good experience buying from the user friendly website. Though the delivery took a couple weeks longer than what was quoted on the website and receipt. Upon arrival, the color of the cabinet looked significantly different than same unit on the website.

Furthermore, one of the light bulbs were burnt out and the wall mounting kit was not provided. Coleman Furniture would not take the unit back over any of the problems. To return through the normal return policy, the cost would equal nearly the cost of the entire cabinet itself.

They did refund me $50 and told me to buy the broken/missing parts at local home depot. But the cabinet itself is well made and of great quality. On the quality of the product for the price, I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

For the entire experience, I give it 2 out of 5 stars.

This is a great table. It’s exactly as described, and it was the easiest piece of furniture i have ever assembled. It was packaged very well and arrived damage free. Yes, it is a low-cost table and it is not absolutely perfect, there are one or two very minor blemishes but they are in pretty much hidden spots.

I am very happy with this table.

Very poor quality. The top is rough and has unsanded grooves on it. I highly recommend you choose a different table. The one positive thing is that it was well packed which is totally misleading once you see the quality of the table.

What a find! I live in a very small apartment and needed a small table to use for dining. The coffee table wasn’t working for me. I hated eating bending over most of the time because of table height or having to hold my plate.

I took a chance on this table and hit the lottery! It is perfect in everyway and now I can actually enjoy dining again in a upright position. I can have the two drop leaf’s down or up. Still a great space saver.

Plus, I got mine unfinished because I can finish it however I want to match my decor. I love this table and would recommend it to anyone.

I ordered two identical tables. The table top and legs are solid wood, as described, with only one flaw, a gray streak on the inside of one leg (no prob for the price and intended use). The dimensions are as described—yay, this was most important.

Unexpectedly, the skirt looks like plywood (compressed thin layers of wood). acceptable for the price. The nuts and bolts worked but not as described in the directions, and a frustratingly tight fit.

but manageable (not wobbly after assembly, which is what matters in the long run). A plastic foot on one leg is missing—I can see how they missed that, and I am asking for one to be sent. Overall, I am happy enough with the outcome.

This item is as described. It was easy to put together and is LEVEL! Which was a need for me, and a concern that perhaps I wouldn’t be able to successfully construct it level. No worries! It is just as pictured.

I am happily using it for my 1000 piece puzzles. Everyone can participate from the couch & we easily roll it out of the way when not in use. 5+ stars.

We ordered three tables and assembled them a few days after they arrived. The tables are very well-constructed and have a superb finish. The height-adjusting tips on the wooden legs are a nice feature but not a necessary one, for our tables are level and stable.

Two negatives are worth mentioning. First, the package of hardware for one table lacked one washer, and another washer was the wrong size. Second, the lock nuts for the leg bolts require strong hands and stronger tools than the Allen wrench and 3″ flat wrench that are included.

I really like the table. It has a nice rustic top and is easy to assemble. Problem is, I could not fully assemble it. The tabletop planks are slightly curved which does not allow you to attach the two boards underneath the table.

Honestly this is the best 72 inch table for the money. The quality far surpasses what it should be for the price! The only thing I would say is the wood doesn’t seem like it’s sealed.

Overall happy with it! Perfect size for our eat in kitchen, but definitely not as big as a dining room type dining table. Read the instructions! I thought I was too cool for school and it turns out I’m not.

I had to redo half of it because I didn’t read the instructions all the way before starting. One hole was not drilled all the way through so my table is missing a screw (I think it makes her special, but she’s self-conscious about it).

I put this together on my own and had no issue. It is heavy so definitely construct on a rug so it is easy to flip and doesn’t scratch your floors. Overall happy with this purchase!.

I was sceptical to buy such a big piece of furniture on line without seeing or touching first. This is the most beautiful table ever. I was surprised it was solid walnut, very heavy,not veneer. The finish is beautiful.

Just received this table today and read on the box that it is “faux” wood with “reclaimed wood look”. The description makes it sound like it is made of actual rubberwood. It also weighs a ton, almost 50 pounds, 10 pounds more than advertised.

I just opened a corner to eyeball this piece and indeed, it is likely made of plastic material, but it doesn’t truly say what it is made of. Very disappointed!.

The company that build this table had rules. If the box was broken send it back and don’t accept it. Walmart backed me up and I decided to open the broken box. wow, sturdy, great quality and absolutely beautiful.

I love this table. I was looking for a table for a small space and this is perfect. It is very fashionable and the color is great. I paired it with blue/gray parsons chairs and it looks great. The only thing I would say is the corners are sharp.

So if you have small children be aware. I purchased clear plastic corner guards to protect my grandchildren. They work fine. Also, this table is sold on other sites like Wayfair, but Walmart has the best price.

Moved to NY and needed some more space to hang my many clothes. Got a random quirky idea to use some pipes that matched the color scheme I was going for to accent the room and create some storage. Clearly overestimated my interior design skills and underestimated my wall space/size of clothing but for the function I chose these honestly work very well! My only critiques would be that when opening the packaging these are like actual pipes that could be used for industrial purposes I think because they were fairly oily and upon grabbing them my hands looked like I was a mechanic.

They’re also WAY heavier than I thought which isn’t a bad thing and I think you’re meant to drill them into a stud. They do come with giant drywall plugs so that’s helpful if you’re not bob the builder like myself.

Plus as in the pictures it can support the weight of that much denim on dry wall so that speaks volumes!.

I really love the worn, authentic wood look of the table. It is sturdy and was well packaged to avoid any scratches. The legs have adjustable feet so I was able to balance out the table on my uneven floors.

It does have some natural holes and knots in the wood, so I do wonder if crumbs and things will fall in when I clean the table.

Great table! Came in one big package and was very easy to assemble but did require two people as it is quite heavy. Great walnut colour and also found chairs that matched it almost perfectly. So far has held up well.

Wow this table is awesome! It’s sturdy and is the perfect size. Super easy to put together. Just what I was looking for! Good height for the average chair.

Nice and solid. Its a tad darker than I anticipated, but it will work fine. Im using it as my new work-from-home desk. Its the perfect size for two giant monitors, a laptop and a printer. The smaller size would not have worked for me.

This table would be great, had it not arrived dinged up. Got a replacement table and that was dinged up too. We opted for the one that wouldn’t cause slivers for our customers. Aside from that, the table is great.

Seems very high quality! Definitely solid wood. It has a rustic style applied to it which I wish was more subdued but overall I am happy with the table top. I attached it to hairpin legs and since it was real wood it’s solid and the legs were easy to install!.

This table looks great with the walnut finish which I like most. But is has a sharp live edge, it was a dent in a week with a metal chair. Finally, my husband got a router and made it more round and refinishedI don’t recommend this product if you need to put up the chair on table to clean floor or have a metal chair.

The finish is gorgeous; not totally matte, but definitely not shiny. It is a very rich color with a beautiful grain and looks great in our space. There was a defect with one of the dowels that connect the two sides of the top.

Rather than send a repair person, Room & Board is sending a new table. We’ll have a table in the meantime so the service is exceptional. The only limitation with the 72×36 size is that the space between the pedestals may not be wide enough for more than one dining chair so that is something to be aware of.

We’ll have a better idea of the durability of the finish after we’ve used it for a few months. I definitely recommend this table. The quality construction and flexible style make it a great choice for almost any decor.

#sweepstakes Table is perfect style for our house. Design is sturdy. Leaf mechanism works well. Walnut is beautiful. Manufacturing quality control is lacking, as the two halves were different thicknesses.

Also where the two halves join, the edge was not perpendicular, leaving a gap. R&B sent out a service person to evaluate, then they ordered a replacement table for us. So very good customer service. Very pleased with R&B’s process, professionalism, and following through.

2 delivery made but tables was damaged. The chairs table was chipped. I thought I had made a through inspection on the table that was finally delivered before delivery personnel left. It was husband who brought to my attention while we sitting at the table when discovered a chip of wood damage in the corner of table.

Now waiting on another replacement table. Very disappointed in Haverty quality.

We loved this in the store. After using it for a month, we are not happy with the quality of the chairs. They felt comfortable and solid in the store, now the cushion feels weak and the chairs feels like low quality furniture.

It seems that the chairs we received are not the ones we saw in the store. They look the same but does not seem to be the same quality.

Set looks good and being solid wood is what sold us. The padding on the chairs are not comfortable at all. We have had the set maybe 6 weeks and I have had to tighten the front legs on three of the chairs on two occasions.

The fourth chair hasn’t been used and I’m sure that’s the reason I haven’t had to tighten. We are disappointed with Havertys as we have purchased furniture from the stores in Atlanta and the quality was what you would expect from them.

The quality of this furniture purchased at the Chattanooga site is lacking.
