16 Best Wood Phone Cases (2022 Updated)

I started out looking for USA made cell phone cases. WUDN has the coolest designs made with different types of wood. The case is thin and doesn’t add much bulk. The rubber parts feel high quality and have nice side grips.

Buttons work well. And as nice as this case is, and made in the USA, the price was very reasonable. I am telling my friends and family about these!.

So awesome. Wood gives you some texture so your phone doesn’t feel as slippery. Looks amazing too

Love the MagSafe stuff. This case snaps right onto my magsafe charger. Really well done.

I was given a Recover wooden case when I had an iPhone 4 back in 2013 and soon realized this was the best case I had ever owned. Every time I’ve updated phones, I immediately order a new Recover case (this is number 5)! So many little things about the design make it perfect—the material, raised edge just above the screen, slim design, impressive shock absorption.

I’ve only gotten positive comments about having a wooden phone case. It’s masculine and modern at once. Forever a repeat customer!.

I’ve used Otterboxes for years. They’re great cases, but completely devoid of personality. When I had the opportunity to try out a Recover case, I figured I could always switch back easily enough. I was immediately struck by how nice the phone felt in my hand.

It wasn’t overly bulky, and the real wood back felt nice against my hand. My wife and kids were pretty taken, too, as they’ve now all swapped their old cases for Recovers. My son even grabbed one just like mine, and I can testify that the wood grain variations are enough that we _can_ tell them apart without turning them on.

I couldn’t be happier.

I’ve had many Recover cases over the years. Some have endured longer than others but I much prefer the wood material vs plastic, etc. Protection has been great when I’ve dropped the phone. This case had a blemish on the wood grain that when I used a finger mail to remove left a small white mark.

First, the shipping was lightning fast. I think it only took 2. 5 days to arrive. I bought the Rosewood/Black iPhone 5 case. NOTE: the actual shade of the Rosewood is a little bit darker than it looks online.

It’s not near as “red” or “cherry” as I was expecting, which is a good thing. Very durable; very high quality; very sophisticated-looking. I know it is made of real wood, but it is obviously treated with something to make it durable and a bit shiny (it can show fingerprints).

At first touch, one may think it is made of plastic due to its luster and rigidity, but no doubt it’s real wood. A must have for anyone who likes classy, urbane wood products! (P. S. my case now matches my real wood Oga men’s glasses frames!).

Amazing case. I’ve gotten used to the rubber case edge at the bottom of the display. This wasn’t present on my XS case, but it didn’t take much to be comfortable with it. Back is solid and beautiful.

I haven’t dropped it yet but I dropped my XS about 40 times and never once had any damage to the phone and just some minor wear and tear on the case for 2. 5 years.

So this is my second moment case and I have all the lenses and a few other things they offer, so you could say I like this company hah. First case I got was when the company first started and it was amazing.

It lasted multiple years, took many falls protecting my iPhone, didn’t get soft, and the mounting system was really simple and secure feeling. When I eventually upgraded my phone I had to get another case.

The second case I got is also really awesome. Very much like the first case except it has a low edge down at the front bottom so you can scroll up easier and it is something apple should learn from on their own cases because it’s great feeling.

BUT and this is a big but, they introduced this new mounting plate system and it is not so awesome. I like that you can take it out and just have an open look, but the piece itself is really cheap feeling.

Also when I went to put in my lenses they were so tight feeling they wouldn’t twist on at all. When I took the case off to look at what was wrong I noticed that the insert mounting plate was actually being carved by the lens tabs meant to hold it in place.

Basically the mounting plate was too thick and needed about a millimeter or less taken off so that the lens would actually go on. This is also right up against the glass of my iphones camera making me feel like my metal lens is pressing against my iphones glass camera and one thing the guy who sold me my iPhone 12 said was, protect your camera because it’s extremely expensive to replace on the new iPhones.

Long story short I love the case but the mounting system makes me not want to use my lenses out of fear of breaking my iPhone! Good news is if they improve the mounting plate you can just pop in the new one without having to do a full return or rebuy.

I bought this case so that I could attach the anamorphic lens for video work. The case has been great for that. The lens attaches snugly and doesn’t rattle or rotate on its own. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the case was inspected at all before shipping.

The edges of the case that wrap around the screen are warped and don’t sit flush with the screen. I’d send it back but for some reason shipping from Moment takes forever (another problem with Moment) and I need the lens most days.

If you’re looking at this as a way to mount lenses for your camera, I think you’ll be happy with it. If you’re just looking for a good phone case, look elsewhere.

Cases are really meant to do three things. Look good, protect, and last. I’ve had this for only a week so far. In that week I’ve not done anything wildly adventurous, but I’ve also not been babying it, either.

To date, it remains looking good AND protecting quite well. Some notes: -When laid screen up, the cutout for the lenses protects them perfectly. There’s not much depth projecting out past the lenses, so it’s not obtruding and catching on anything during use.

Even better, it doesn’t do that rocking back-and-forth thing that some cases do when sat on their back. It sits flush. -Same thing screen-down. The lip around the phone is enough that it’s protected from most dirt, etc.

The depth is just shy of the thickness of a nickel, so don’t expect this to protect from anything too rocky on a desk surface. -They reduced the depth of the screen-side lip on the bottom so you can actually swipe to home and app history.

thank goodness. Why THATS not industry standard I don’t understand. -The wood is not overly sanded or finished, just a nice little veneer with a good feel. That said, I fully expect to dent or scuff this pretty easily.

I’ve had Nomad Horween Leather cases that scuffed from the pocket of my jeans, so this not scuffing in a week is. good? I’d say expected. Haven’t a clue how the lens adapter interacts, but thats on delay.

still. I’ll update this review with notes on how that fits and any changes to the above notes!.

(I just submitted this review a few minutes ago, but don’t see it, so here goes again. ) I really like the feel, design and performance of my Moment gear (58mm lens, IPhone 7/8/SE canvas case and front/rear lens caps).

The images come out great. When the case is new, the lens really locks on to it nice and snug. However, after a couple months or so of taking the lens off and putting it on, the plastic lens mount interface on the case starts to wear out and get less snug.

I’m on my 3rd case in less than a year, I think, because, with the previous two cases, as the wearing down occurs, I think it actually thins out the plastic and/or makes it less firm/strong, such that when a minor impact occurs on the mounted lens, the plastic holding the lens breaks right off.

For my first case, it was on my phone, with the end holding my lens sticking out of my front pants pocket. I lightly bumped a shopping cart with my protruding lens as I walked by. Well, the shopping cart is metal, the lens is metal, and the case’s lens mount interface was a weak plastic, worn out by a few months of light use, so the weakest link broke, and then I had to get a second case.

But, at that time, I had to keep lens attached most of the time to keep my Moment lens’ rear element clean (because there was no rear lens cap yet made) – and to avoid additional wearing down of the plastic interface.

But, keeping lens attached all the time exposed to more risk of bumping the lens. Then, with my 2nd case, I also got the newly released rear lens cap (yay!!). Now that I had that lens cap, it meant that I could take the lens on and off more often, and sure enough, after a couple months, the plastic was wearing down.

Then, one day, I had the lens attached to case, sitting on a low living room table, I bumped the phone, where it dropped a short 2 feet to a soft shag carpet, and the plastic lens mount interface broke :-/ So, now I’m on my 3rd case for a week or two now, and the lens still fits nice and snug 🙂 (Ironically, the plastic bracket of the rear lens cap has become brittle and has broken apart, after only a few months use, making it difficult to remove – so now I’m back to being faced with option of dirty/scratched rear lens element or leaving lens attached and risking damaged case.

Oy Vay. Sidenote: after a couple months of using rear lens cap, its strap’s flap that tethers to front cap delaminated. The tethering strap’s flap delaminated from the layer that adheres to the front cap.

I repaired that, recently, with just a few tiny drops of Gorilla Glue, but now that the rear cap is breaking, I’ve got a faulty rear cap securely tethered to the front cap. Bottom line is that the design of Moment gear is all great when it works, but the gear that isn’t actually a lens seems to be of feeble materials, and so I’ll just have to consider replacing parts over and over again a cost of using the great lens.

I might even keep a backup case on hand at all times to avoid the delay in ordering/shipping the next replacement case(s). (Although I’d much rather just pay a couple bucks more for Moment to put long-lasting stronger materials in their products, so I don’t have to repeatedly spend more time and money getting replacements, and so I don’t have to add otherwise perfect items to the landfills), Now it’s time for me to order a 2nd rear lens cap.

I bought this iPhone 13 Pro Max otter box case with the built in pop socket about 2 weeks ago. What I have found so far about what I do not like about this case is that this case is way too slippery on the sides, with my man fingers the pop socket is hard to get my fingers wedged on to pull it out, and the pop socket I feel is already getting loosened.

What drew me to purchase this is Otterbox’s reputation from my iPhone 11Pro+(now called max) which Otterbox made a very nice sturdy and rubber edged case with a clear back that was perfect and this just is not the case anymore and otterbox doesn’t make this same case for the 13 which is a huge disappointment! The main thing that drew me to this case was the way it looked.

So if you want a case that looks bad “cool” only, then this is your case. But if you are like me and I use my phone about 7 hours a day for my business as a Realtor, then the “use” or practicality is just not here with this case.

Oh and when using it in my car attachment, the pop socket sticks out a bit and I don’t have a firm hold on my car clip. This case is way too slippery in my hand and when setting it down. This case makes the phone slide like it’s on ICE.

Overall I would rate this a 5 out of 10 because it is a hard case so you have that protection and as I said it looks cool (I used a word for butt to describe its coolness factor but your system flagged it for profanity and just wow now how crappy you are now by not allowing us to tell how we feel and you hounding us for a review, now I’m OFFENDED!) now I’ll give your company a 2 out of 10 for this restriction as well as I was going to offer you my willingness to help you design a better case but no, I hope you go out of business for these policies you are putting in place and not wanting the TRUE FEEDBACK from your loyal customers, how weak and sad that you can’t handle our feedback) but the $60 price tag, no rubber sides for gripping, and oh it’s very difficult to get the phone in and out of the case it simply is not what I was looking for in a case for my thousand dollar phone.

Added to which the sad fact that Apple and Otterbox do not work together and do not have sufficient cases in store to chose from and now a subpar product is absolutely what I feel will put Otterbox out of business soon and make a lot of past and loyal customers such as myself no longer loyal and simply that, a past client.

Hey Otterbox who is designing your garbage now? This is just absolutely horrible that I had to order this from you and wait about 10 days until the case arrived and had an unprotected phone. To avoid the rigamaroll of a return it will be easier for me to just sell this to someone else and get a more practical cheaper rubber coated siding case.

I have used an Otterbox case since I got my first phone in 2013 and have never looked back. My most recent purchase was a case for my iPhone 12 in 2021 when I upgraded from my iPhone X where I also had an Otterbox case.

This specific case is one that I enjoy because it is not as bulky, and it can fit in my pocket nicely. Even though the case is not as big, it is still protective and holds great on my phone. Something else I enjoy about the case is that no matter the design of the case, it does not affect how protective the case is.

The same level of protection is shown throughout the designs and with so many options, there is something for everyone. I drop my phone a lot and it sometimes will fall off my bed, but no matter how many times it falls, there is never a scratch or crack on my phone and case.

I have had the case since I bought the phone and over time the sides started to turn black, but I do not mind it because of how protective the case has been. I recently had to replace the original case that I bought because the bottom rubber started to come off, but I went online and was able to replace it and only pay the cost of shipping.

I love that the cases have a warranty on them because not everything is going to last forever even a phone case. I would recommend the product because of the wide variety of options that they have. Even though the price is a lot for a phone case, the price shows in the final product.

The case is protected and when I had a different branded case and dropped my phone once, it shattered the back screen, and ever since then, I have not taken off my otterbox case. I would recommend any Otterbox case to anyone who is looking for a new case that is protective and not too heavy where it feels like you are caring a brink in your pocket.

I ordered this case because it was literally the only one available in the store and there were only two left and it was a holiday sale weekend. So I wanted to beat the rush to get a good price so I placed an order online for store pick up.

The sale price was about the only decent thing about it. I definitely would’ve picked up something else had there been anything that fit my phone and featured MagSafe. So the good is that it fits decently well.

The volume buttons are very tactile however the power button is a little mushy and soft. It has MagSafe. That’s the end of the good points. Now the bad points. Even without a screen protector there is very little screen lip.

Throw on a screen protector and it’s almost flush with the screen. Same thing with the cameras. The amount of space between the screen and cameras and a flat surface is literally the thickness of a sheet of notebook paper.

A decent size grain of sand would make contact with either surface. There is absolutely no grip on the back of this case. It is literally a slick piece of plastic. The fingernail-thick groove that goes around the edge of the case is not a grip.

The bottom rubber area near the charging port, speakers and mic is somewhat floppy. I see that deforming in a matter of weeks. Outside of that it’s just your basic black unattractive no personality plastic case with minimal protection on the front and rear and very little protection on the corners.

You can see that from how tightly it fits on the corners of the phone, that there are no air pockets. I highly doubt this is a very protective case outside of scratches from inside your pocket. I can definitely say that the full price for this case is insane.

This is going to go back immediately as I sit here in the parking lot writing this review. I’ll hit up the five and dime store for a temporary five dollar case until I can find a suitable case in value and quality.

I bought the official apple soft case first (while waiting for more choice to come out). Leather was what I really wanted but it had to be slim, strong and have cut outs. I looked at a few, nomad, apple and NU (some of my other fav manufacturers didn’t do the 12 pro).

The NU one looked the best and was the cheapest too. Plus I already had the NU leather AirPod pro case so a nice match there. I’d have preferred more cuts outs on the sides, the NU only has it on the bottom.

It’s slim ( so doesn’t feel bulky) but has a noticeable raised edge along the screen. No chance of you damaging/scratching it if you lay it screen face down. The buttons are covered in the same leather.

The NU logo is on the back and name is embossed on the right side. The camera cut out is precise and the thickness matches the raised lenses so again it provides good protection. I’m quite fussy with cases and usually try a few before I’m happy.

So far this case answers all my questions.

I love the case seven if the colour isn’t the one I wanted. Classy and solid. Hard to take off tho but that’s the reason probably why is so safe to keep your phone in it. Also a bit slippery and it might cause problem with sweaty or wet hands but it is robust.

I have dropped once and nothing happened and phone is in immaculate condition. Also case itself did not get damaged. Nicely done. Says Paris comes from Hong Kong but other than that I do recommend this case.

Quality and function is what I wasn’t sure of. There are numerous tech products out there that have this similar design and style, but lack in the quality and/or disappoint in function. With the help of a small discount, I went for it and purchased the Clic Marquetry case for my wife’s new iPhone SE.

I’m glad I did. Starting from the packaging, I was impressed. I know some people don’t care about these kind of things, but I do. Similar to Apple products, but in uniquely Native Union way, unboxing the product is an experience.

However, none of that matters if the product doesn’t come through. In this case, it does. The leather is real and the craftsmanship is top notch. However, aesthetics aren’t the only thing. The rubber texture on the sides I think was a good choice as it gives confidence and grip when holding the phone.

The case also has a functional front lip that helps the front screen from touching or scratching when placed on a table facedown. The inner lining is soft and helps prevent scratching the phone when installed.

The case fits like a glove and feels secure and protected in case of a drop. I have not yet tested the wireless charging with the case on, but I assume it will work since Native Union sells their own matching wireless chargers.

Overall, I am pleased with this product so far and I highly recommend it. If you not only like aesthetics, but also function, you might want to give this case a try.

Fits well and protects

Good

I have used this case for 6 months along with a brand new phone. This phone case looks good with a pretty good amount of protection and has survived a handful of drops no worries. Design wise, although thin, the lip for the back cameras kind of ignores the whole “symmetry” the case was going for, which isn’t a dealbreaker and can help avoid scratching and/or damaging the back of the phone when putting it down but personally this has lead me to putting my phone down face first (I prefer my phone to sit flush).

Personal opinion out of the way, the quality and fit of the case isn’t worth the money. The phone case is slightly too large for the phone, at least mine was. It didn’t fall out or anything, but dust, dirt and other small debris easily made it’s way into the case resulting in small chips and micro-scratches, which is not good if you have a plan where you can trade up phones if the phone is in perfect condition.

There is way too many marks on my phone for a phone that has lived in this case since I’ve had it. If that wasn’t a deal breaker, the soft plastic around the volume buttons and charger port have stretched and separated from the hard shell, which is not only annoying and ugly but now offers less protection.

I’d expect this from a much cheaper phone case. Otterbox is usually pretty good. Short term this phone case is alright, long term or with heavy use I would probably look for another case.

This case definitely adds a clean & simple element to ones iPhone. And though it may only be for aesthetics, 2 things that disappointed me were • The case isn’t colored as Clear. More of a frosted color instead, that des Not look clear on the Pacific Blue iPhone — thus the tactical use of the Silver and Graphite iPhone in the images.

•The case is so slim that the perimeter of the whole thing is rather flimsy. This creates the issue, when removing from a pocket or bag, that the lip of the perimeter moves and allows debris to enter the sides of the phone.

(Annoying when you’re trying to avoid marks and scratches on the steel band). *Purchased both the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max sizes*.

I’ve long used the Clic Canvas for my iPhone 8 and XS. When I upgraded to the iPhone 12 Pro, I immediately purchased the Clinc Canvas as soon as it went on pre-order. Received my order today and I was appalled to find the case does not completely cover the bottom edge of the phone.

Additionally, the lip is not as deep as previous versions, so there is not as much space between a flat surface and the phone’s screen when laying face down. I am not confident this new iteration of the Clic Canvas will adequately protect my iPhone 12 as trusty versions have previously done.

It’s such a pity because it is otherwise a beautifully crafted case.
