10 Best Wood Restoration Products (2022 Updated)

I wanted to fill splits in my house’s solid plank cedar exterior walls (behind the lath and plaster in a room I am renovating). I filled them with WoodEpox and the product behaves as described. My issue is that it is difficult to know how deep I was able to fill the cracks.

I mixed the second and third batches with gradually increasing portions of LiquidWood and it helped make the WoodEpox less stiff. Still, it is hard to say how deep I was able to fill the splits. From the answers on Abatron’s FAQs, I knew I could mix LiquidWood into WoodEpox but I was hesitant to put too much out of fear of weakening the end product.

What would have helped is to know how much I could cut the WoodEpox with LiquidWood.

I have recently had work carried out on the rendering to my sandstone cottage. During the work I discovered some rotten wood. I searched the internet for a good product. Abatron came up as by best choice.

Although expensive I ordered the 24 oz kit, the instructions were easy to follow. I have carried out the repairs myself, and am very satisfied with the results.

this is or 3rd can. our floors are old and have taken a beaten. We first clean the floor, when dry we apply the Howard Restore Liquid. amazing results. Not perfect, due to floor age, but puts such a shine on.

Applied this product to my kitchen cabinets a week ago. The results were immediate and very impressed. A little bit goes a long way. Quick and easy application; applied and buffed with a rag. I am anxious to see how long the effects last before reaplication will be needed.

A clever mixture of solvents and waxes. Works quite well on medium surface damage but failed to restore more severe water damage on vintage sewing machine cover. Removed oxidized French polish on a cabinet and gave it a decent finish though.

Not a fix all problems product but an excellent for a quick once over. Expensive for what it is.

I was blown away by how well this product worked. I had been ready to replace my cherry cabinets. I had nothing to lose, so I tried the Restor-A-Finish. It was a miracle! My cabinets are now clean and look like new.

It was so easy to do. The Restor-A-Finish was simple to apply and wipe away. Scratches, blemishes all disappeared.

As an individual who has refinished numerous cabinets, pieces of furniture, etc. I was skeptical about how well this product would work. A friend recommended it so I thought I’d give it a try and I’m happy to report that our baseboards, wood trim, etc have never looked so good! For years I’ve used scratch markers to try to fix the scratches on our bedroom furniture but they never worked.

I decided to swipe over the scratches with this product.

We have 57 year old hardwood floors that are still in pretty good condition but we wanted to restore without paying too much money and thought it would be a good idea to give this a try. We tested it out in our guest room since it doesn’t have high traffic and can dry in peace without the family/pets stepping all over it.

I went and bought the Rejuvenate Mop that came with 3 pads ( cleaning, dusting and polishing) and also bought the Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner as well. So the instructions were very simple to follow. Instead of using the dust mop I ended up vacuuming the whole room since we have pets and I wanted to be sure I got all the hair off.

I cleaned it then used the polish as instructed. Be sure that before polishing the floor need to be completely dry! We ended up using two coats of the polish and felt that they looked good enough. The food looked so beautiful and we were impressed.

It didn’t really fill the larger scratches but really did a good job covering the smaller ones. Aside from tired arms I really liked this product and am going to continue using it for the rest of the rooms and hallway.

It does an ok job adding back shine to dulled out wood floor surface. It’s thin milky fluid that is poured on the floor and mopped once the floor’s prepped/cleaned. It’s an easy application anyone can handle.

The issue I have with it is that it requires/recommends microfiber cloth to mop with it. I happened to have one laying around at home but if you don’t have one, you need to get one or find an alternative.

I didn’t catch that at first and used the papertowel to wipe and it left a film of hazy residue on multiple spots which is unsightly. I mopped the area again with a microfiber cloth and went away. I was concerned it would leave chemical odors but it didn’t.

It contained a lot of different chemical material that makes me wonder what long tern effects it would have on the wood. Overall, it’s a nice product to restore the dull surface if you have a hard time doing with normal cleaning.

We recently repainted our office and moved all the furniture out of the room and notices are wood floors could use a deep cleaning and with that we decided that it could use some refreshing and decided to try this and see how it works.

This is pretty easy to set up just tilt the bottle back and forth to mix and then we used a broom with a microfiber mat to spread even layers on the floor and because we had some decent sized scratches we did two coats to fill in the cracks a bit.

I will note you should let the floor dry fully for 24 hours especially if you want to put furniture on top of it that way your furniture doesn’t scratch up the layer of cleaner and it does get stuck to the floor.

I was pleasantly surprised on how great my floors looked. I felt like it definitely made the floor have a nice clean looking shine without it being slippery or waxy looking and it definitely helped the scratches blend in better with the rest of the floor and be a lot less noticeable.

For me the only downsize was having to wait to put the furniture back in the room and the smell is a bit strong almost plastic smelling but it did a fantastic job with the floor so I would definitely recommend.

Great way to permanently repair exterior wood trim, posts and beams that would be expensive to replace with new. I have repaired 12 full dimension 6″x6″ approximately 20′ long posts and beams associated with them that support a high deck and roof structure.

They had severe weather damage and I had repaired them with Bondo in the past but it did not last more than a year before it started to squeeze out of the weather cracks. I repaired half of the posts and beams using Abatron a year and a half ago and the wood remains in perfect condition.

I am now about finished repairing the remaining beams. I also have found Abatron to be the perfect repair for cracks in my cedar siding. I am very impressed with this product and highly recommend it.

When MyBondo repair failed I contacted technical support at Bondo and the rep told me he hated to recommend a competetors product but for my repairs Abatron would be his choice. The tough part was removing all of the old filler.

I also used liquid wood everywhere that I used the Wood Epoxy to make certain that I got the best repair possible.

I have started to use this to repair the edges of a plywood deck that was originally sheathed with fibreglass cloth and resin. Unfortunately during the last 40 years someone used a sander nearby and rubbed the fibreglass away leaving the bare plywood.

I have used the Albaton Wood epoxy as it is advertised that it wont shrink to seal the raw edges and in some places gaps in the plywood. One can use it in temperatures down to 10F. The first application (3 days ago) had to be “encouraged” to start hardening by using a hot air gun.

Yesterday it had hardened enough to let me sand it down. I then applied a second coat in parts. Again because the temperature was just above 10F I had to use the hot air gun to get the hardening process going.

I am not sure if I was sold “old” stock as the Part A material (white) was quite dry only once I started mixing the (Beige) B material did I get a putty like mix that could be shaped. Heat certainly helps when mixing and when filling cracks.

I have just checked the second application and it has finally set hard. I have not rated this product Excellent Quality as I did find it quite hard to use. Compared to Poly cell its expensive ! thus the lower score.

Oak stair treads and risers were damaged when carpet runner was removed. This product worked great. Was only able to mix and apply about 3 tablespoons of each part in the 20 minutes work time. Putty like constancy was a little hard to apply and had to be worked hard to fill holes and stay in place.

Putty holds well on horizontal and verticals surfaces. Once in place and set, it bonded well. Do wish I had also gotten some Liquid Wood to prime some of the bigger patches and for mixing with putty to make it flow a little easier.

Patches set hard but sanded easily and took paint and stain well. On stained surfaces, I coloured patches with repair sticks after to match. Clean off or sand any residue oils around patch or those areas will take stain differently than patch and natural wood.

I typically use my wood cleaner for both my wood furniture and items as well as my stainless steel appliances because wood polish seems to work the best on them without scratching or streaking. This brand did not work well on everything I needed it too.

It left streaks on many of my items and I was not a huge fan of the smell it left. Would not buy again.

This is the Best polish ever. However, the spray on this one can doesn’t spray out neatly. I have already started Spring Cleaning so I can deal with it. I hope other spray cans work better.

In only buy the lemon scent and and wood 🪵 scent. I think this is a great stuff and work well. I use it for cleaning polish all wood furniture at the house.
