20 Best Wooden Rocking Chair (2022 Updated)

I thought the chair was well constructed and the material was good quality. The reason for four stars was, some of the machining in the holes was not perfect and some holes were not machines deep enough to put the wood plugs in once finished.

It took a few trys of trial and error going together to align everything appropriately. I ended up basically loose fitting the whole chair together and then going through tightening each bolt after the chair was fully assembled.

Not a big deal but more time consuming. It took me roughly 1. 5 hours to complete. This isnt my first time building something either. I have constructed and remodeled several rooms of my house and built a barn so, this isnt necessarily new to me.

Overall I thought the product was good quality and is very sturdy to sit in. Wife loves it regardless.

I am 6 foot 1. I am not experienced with putting furniture together and gave this chair to a neighbor who was thrilled to get a cute and nice styled rocking chair, which of course had cost me a couple hundred and late hours putting it together.

This chair didn’t come all the way to the knee in height. Obviously it’s meant for reclining and we could get a somewhat obese person to fit comfortably in terms of depth. Nothing terrible happened but the center of gravity was low enough that I felt ridiculous climbing down into it.

I knew I would not really use it in good health and gave it to a smaller neighbor. It’s not for children but adults. But there’s a lot of variety out there and this would be better for the shorter customers.

Outside of that, my neighbor is thrilled. It’s cute, seems sturdy, was not hard to assemble.

I don’t even know where to start! We bought a couple used first and then needed some more! I found these and thought they were a great price for what we were getting! I love that I can stain them to match everything else! Super easy to put together! And the shipping was so quick.

I ordered around 1:00 pm and they arrived at 9:30 am the very next day! I was expecting a week or so! We are so happy with our chairs and super easy to put together! Will definitely be ordering again! Looking for a little table to go in between them now!!!.

Purchased through Walmart. Ordered and paid $79 for Angie’s List “pro” to come over and put the chair together. Over an hour after the pro came to my home I was told that the chair can’t be put together.

Some predrilled holes were drilled to big for the screws to bite into the wood. Dowel tips and holes are incompatible for proper fit. The pro left with a wave of the hand and a, “Good luck with the chair.

” I’m so sad. I wanted this so badly.

The wood is softer so it gets scratches and dents easily. Overall, I am happy with the product but the instructions for installation were confusing. It took about 1 hour to assemble but we had to redo the side pieces as they were not fitting against the curved bottom.

I wish it came with plugs for the spots where the screws go. The seat feels solid and it looks just like the photo.

I got 2 rockers for my front porch. I was able to easily follow directions and used packaged screws and tool to put together both chairs by myself. I love the height and width of rocker seats. The rockers are sturdy and look beautiful on my porch!.

I love my Rocker, I would tell a friend. However I wish that the wood was thicker. The price was great as well. There are no problems with the rocking chair. Thank you

Good value for the money paint is nice assembly was easy with pieces labeled as to what went where be sure to measure before purchasing any cushions it seems to be larger than a standard rocking chair

Ordered this chair for 19 month old daughter and she and her older sister (3yrs+) fit it well and my youngest likes sitting on it. It came pre-assembled and is a solid chair. It is clear that it will last a long time.

We ordered white finish and definitely a bright white finish. It does not have any screw holes but a few staple holes near armrests and rocking base. My only complaint is the seat portion. There are visible staple holes and a slight imperfection in the paint.

I do not understand why the staples could not be filled before painting since it would have made this chair perfect. Also between the slats seem a little rough and I worry bare legs might get a slight scratch.

I am tempted to return for the seat flaw but the rest of the chair is great. So I may just put a cushion to hide it.

The aesthetic appeal is everything I wanted, however, the chairs creak a lot. I bought 2 and got a replacement bc one creaked soo much it was embarrassing for guests. They thought they were going to break it! Maybe that’s wood and how it breaks in, idk bc I have never bought a rocker before.

It’s still beautiful though and please note, it’s a cream cushion not white. In the picture it looks white and it was NOT in the description as cream when I purchased these. I did ask them to update the listing, not sure they did yet.

I still rate these a 4 star bc they are pretty and functional for the most part.

The chair is very pretty, however putting it together was a nightmare. The bolts didn’t line up with several of the holes and it made it nearly impossible to get it done. Unfortunately because of the problem with them lining up, 2 of the bolts were not able to sink in to the wood.

Not a deal breaker but not a fan of screws/bolts sticking out. Still a beautiful chair.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these rockers! I had my eye on them for a while and just decided to go for it. Glad I did. The color is nice and just what I expected. My concern was the back of the rocker. Would it be tall enough.

My husband is 6’3 and the rocker is comfortable for him to lay his head back. I hope they old up in the cold during the winter but they are on the front porch so I’m not too worried about them. Would recommend over and over.

Bought 2. The allen head wrench stripped 3 of the screws on the first chair. Had to uses screws from second chair to finish first one. Called defective part number and 2 weeks later an extra bag of screws showed up in mail.

Poor rating is because seat and back slats are too far apart and hurt my but to sit on them. Must have a pad to sit on. Back slats are vertical and also hurt back. They should be horizontal to support your back.

Figured this out by sitting in a good quality chair that was designed right.

Pros: Instructions are well written and easy to follow, all items needed to assemble were included, nice looking chair (a few blemishes but I knew that before I ordered), easy to assemble Cons: One of the holes in the back part didn’t line up with the hole in the seat.

My husband was able to get them to line up so we could screw in the bolt, chair doesn’t rock smoothly (it feels like I’m rocking over a small pebble – maybe because one of the pre-drilled holes didn’t line up?), back of rocker is straight (not curved) so it’s not as comfortable.

I tried calling the customer service number in the instructions. After 35 minutes of waiting on hold, I finally hung up. I really like this rocking chair, but not happy with the bumpy rocking motion.

We have a pair of these chairs for a few years now and have been very happy with them. They are on our front porch and subjected to all kinds of weather conditions and heavy pollen every Spring. The wood still holds its color and shape and has no squeaking! We are very happy with our purchase!.

My grandbabies love this! I purchased it for one of my grandbabies and he left it at my house, now all of the smaller babies sit in it. Its their go to for when they want to watch TV. Been thinking about purchasing a couple more for when I have all of them together.

I would buy this rocker again but I would not buy it for a child under 3. My granddaughter is almost 2 and the wood is hard and the edges are sharp enough to cut her head if she was to fall on it so my daughter would not let me give it to her until she was older.

Also, it does not rock hardly at all. In my opinion, I would only buy this rocker again for a child 3-5 or maybe 6. If any older, it could break if sat on by a heavy child.

Its super cute, exactly as pictured. Easy to put together. My son (3) fits it perfect and he’s bigger than average (he looks 5). I think this will last him a long time. The quality is so great by the time he out grows it, it can be passed down.

The previous reviews that mention issues with assembly/poor instructions didn’t just have bad luck. The bars that hold the leg rockers are not labeled which is the front bar, and which is the rear bar.

After figuring that out, we were able the get the chair just about assembled, BUT the left arm rest did not have the screw groves to lock the arm rest into place. While we could have given up and returned the item, we had already devoted and hour into putting it together.

We decided to drill a hole on the bottom side of the arm rest, big enough to put one of the extra barrel nuts in there, so that the screw had something to lock into.

The rocker was fairly easy to put together. It took me 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours to do the job. It seen to a really heavy rocker that will last along time

Great looking chair, well designed and very sturdy and easy to assemble.

These were pretty easy to assemble, but they are really uncomfortable to sit in. The backrest is too far forward when the rocker is at rest so you feel like you’re falling forward. Adding some lumbar pillows might help that, if they don’t fall through to the back.

I would totally return these but the thought of taking them apart, repackaging them and finding a box to fit them is too daunting. But I literally can’t even sit in them for more then like 2 minutes before I start hating them anew, which is pretty frustrating since I bought them to be my front porch rockers so I could be comfortable while I watch my kids play outside.

Buying these bigger items from Amazon is always a risk, and this time it didn’t pay off.

Good feeling chairs. Wife was able to even snug up a little in them. They are not of the best wood but they are good quality. As they say, you get what you pay for. If you are looking for handmade walnut quality this is not them.

For the price, these are awesome. Cheaper than the big box home stores and are the same quality. I will say, be carful with the hex screws. If you do not have the included hex wrench seated in the screw correctly, you may strip the screw head.

They do give you two extra screws just in case. I put four of these chairs together in about an hour and a half. Easy to assemble. Overall I would recommend and buy again.

I really wanted to like these chairs but the size listed is incorrect. We have a small porch that measures 38 1/2 inches from wall to railing. When we put the chairs together and brought them onto the porch, thry wouldn’t fit.

The ro kef leg is bigger than the description listed so if you have a small area then know that it will not work if it is bigger than 39 inches. If uou are a petite person then your legs wont reach ground either.

We bought the brown color, which is beautiful. They are very easy to put together and came with everything.

We love our Montana rockers! My husband is 6′ 2″ and I am 5′ 8″ tall. Some rockers we tried out felt like they were scaled for much shorter people. These rockers are very comfortable for both of us. They also seem very sturdy and rock with minimum effort.

We had some difficulty getting the rockers attached on 1 of our 2 rockers, but turning the rocker right side up and sitting on it settled the pegs of the seat part into the rocker parts just fine.

This was half the price for the exact same rocker from other sellers. Exactly as described and pictured. Outstanding quality! Truly happy with this purchase. Would definitely buy again.

I am more than disappointed with everything about these junky chairs. Instructions say ‘easy to assemble’ but they come in many ill-fitting pieces that don’t fit together quite right. I bought them for my front porch but would be embarrassed to put them out, not to mention the safety factor.

I would like to return them but we’ve already assembled one of them as much as is possible with the cheaply made pieces. Very unhappy! Don’t buy them, they’re not worth the money!.

Okay, so I’ve had it in my head that people with rocking chairs can boast more clearly defined ideas about relaxation and how to enjoy those rare moments of tranquility so hard to find these days. Well, turns out I was correct.

As soon as I I completed I pulled it close to my desk – ad there I was rockin in my new office chair. the back is high, the seat is generous I really like the black and its holding up very nicely. And I love to rock.

Good purchase but word to the wise. rocking chairs take up a good bit more space than your typical office chair.

The back is very straight and a little uncomfortable. Hope using a pillow will help. I am a little disappointed in the finish. a lot of paint drips and some cracking around the holes. There is an emblem at the base of the back.

One chair has the emblem on the front, the other one is on the back, yet the back pieces are on correctly. Wished they would have been made in Canada instead of China. All in all, not bad for the price.

Assembly was pretty easy, but we did use a drill in some places.

Exactly what I was searching for!!! These chairs have exceeded my expectations, *so far. (*They are gifts and as of yet have not been in the weather, so cannot speak for durability). Noble House has done a fine job: All solid wood, well made, all adequate hardware included, +1 extra just in case.

The chairs went together with ease in about 30 min, with no extra hands and everything lining up perfectly. Manufacturer’s packing is superb, so no traveling dings or mars or breakage. No broken slats or cracked wood, ect, ect.

These are stained grey, so no paint to chip or blister and the seating area is more than adequate for an average to large adult. Would DEFINITLEY RECOMMEND!.

The rocking chair is all hardwood wood. It is easy to assemble, once you get passed the first assembly instruction (a little confusing). When assembled it is very sturdy. It is a little wider than I expected, but looks like it would support 300 pounds.

I definitely recommend this rocker to anyone. We will keep it on the front porch, but is classy enough to keep inside.

Cons: We received a chair with a broken leg and a stained cushion. It looks glued together in some sections. I would not place heavy weight on it for a long term use. The craft connects more to a chair used for decoration purposes.

Pros: The chair looks very pretty and it is lightweight. We will purchase one more hoping for a better experience.

Assembled, I think this is a five star chair for the price. It’s very pretty and looks like a chair that would cost more. Based off seeing some worn off areas of wood, like on the furniture plugs, I think this darker finish will wear off to light wood (the stain isn’t deep), but that doesn’t bother me.

Assembly is very tough. Maybe the finish was too thick on mine, but it took a couple days, and tweaking on another day, and loads of elbow grease to assemble. The hex key actually stripped due to the wood being so uncooperative (not due to overtightening).

A good excuse to use all those spare hex keys you wondered why you kept from other things, I guess. It helped to use a long metal clamp during assembly when parts just refused to go together. I’d recommend getting an assembled rocker if you aren’t accustomed to furniture assembly and don’t have tools that may help.

Also, the finish is smelly, so it needs airing out. I feel bad giving it a four, but the assembly was definitely not easy. I still recommend it, though, and think the chair is worthy of five stars after the trouble is all over with, but just want to be honest.

So glad I finally have a Cracker Barrel rocker!.

Bought 10 one for each greatgrand child as they turned one! They all cherish them and plan to keep them for there children! Made remarkably well and hold up very well! Love them and would recommend any one to purchase them! They are worth the price!!.

These rocking chairs are really nice once you get them assembled. I cannot give them 5 stars, because of the assembly. The assembly could have been made a lot easier, it takes about 2 hours to put each chair together.

The pre-cut holes should have been made bigger, because you have to be very careful when hammering the individual pieces together. Otherwise you risk breaking the wood or chipping the finish. It would have been a better design if they made the holes bigger and you were just able to place the screws in to hold it together, elimate the hammering all together.

Another issue I encountered was with the seat, the screws have to be put in at an angle and it makes it very difficult to make the seat even. The instruction book also advises you to hand tighten the seat screws, which is extremely difficult.
