20 Best Wooden Wine Racks (2022 Updated)

Received this in good condition with color and size as expected. Overall we’re pleased with the piece, the only thing I’d alter is the type of wood used. It was stained dark, but the wood looks to be standard 2 x 4’s that you’d find at any local hardware store.

I might actually have a custom piece made with the same design using higher quality hardwoods at some point. That said, this looks good in my dining as-is and I often receive complements from guests.

Absolutely love my riddling rack! I have been eyeing this piece for awhile and made the purchase when it went on sale. Great value! Very sturdy and I love the color. Only concern is that hardware was thrown into the box without any packaging and it does have an odor to it, but quickly went away when aired outside.

This rack looks great on the wall, but unfortunately it doesn’t fit most Pinot Noir bottles given the top of those bottles have a bigger circumference. If it fit all types of wine, I’d give it 5 stars.

The picture looks good but it does not do this item justice in real life. It is very beautiful and when you place the wine bottles, it becomes a WOW! It is small and just the right size for the corner on the countertop and simply prefect if you choose to set it out.

Either way, this wine rack is the bomb!.

This wine rack has got to be one of the best designed and beautiful I have seen! Not only does it hold the bottles perfectly, it looks great while it does so. The wood grain pattern is fantastic and adds character to my counter.

100% recommend!.

Bought as gift for hubby. He loves the display for his special wines. We get many comments on how unique it is!

I was storing several case of wine in the mail crates they were delivered in and got tired of opening up boxes and randomly removing layers to get to the bottle I wanted. I wanted a rack that could comfortably store the different size wine bottles I owned: long and narrow Rieslings, regular size, and fatter champagne.

I also wanted a rack that allowed me to remove each wine bottle individually. (Some rack designed are triangles where you stack six bottles requiring you to remove the top bottles to get to a bottom bottle.

) I also wanted a rack that was only about the wine, no wasted space to store glasses or display wine bottles standing up. Simply put it was how can I store the most number of bottles in the least amount of space.

and if I needed to assemble the rack, a good design that was easy to assemble without the risk of parts breaking. Viola! This rack met all these criteria on paper and in actual use. I bought two of these racks.

There was a slight learning curve to assemble the first rack ( about 35 minutes) and much quicker on the second rack (about 20 minutes). The rack is designed in such a way that you can store the Riesling bottles between the floor (in my case a carpeted floor) and the physical bottom row.

Also since the Riesling bottles are narrow, I can store store six in a row, so instead of storing 30 bottles ( 6 rows @ 5 bottles/row), each rack allows me to store 36 with the bonus row below the physical bottom row.

Also, the walnut color is very attractive. The rack is very sturdy. I’m pleased.

The FedEx shipment arrived a day sooner than informed. That’s a good thing! The package was intact, contents undamaged, and in perfect condition. Laid out all of the parts and discovered the unopened small parts bag was short two tiny dowels used to support the rear of the shelves.

I found something I could substitute, easily assembled the rack, and it fit perfectly in the limited space I had. Except for the missing dowels, I am pleased with the purchase.

Although easy to assemble, the rack was not very steady and slightly misaligned. We ended up drilling screws into it to make it sturdier. It’s a beautiful piece but the simplest touch can cause a scratch.

We are using this for basement storage so it works great for that, but I don’t know that I would keep it out on display for fear that any bump or nudge would cause it scratch. I’d give it a fourth star if it didn’t scratch so easily and would have aligned better with assembly.

Nice rack. Arrived in time expected. Just as appears in picture. Would recommend to anyone who does not mind putting things together. Also good for small spaces. However, only holds 6 regular (normal) size wine glasses.

This is exactly what I wanted for our wine – something compact, sturdy, easy to assemble and great looking. I’ve had wine racks in the past that are cheap to purchase but then collapse (literally) under the weight of wine, which defeats the purpose.

This is exactly as advertised. It received four stars for two reasons – 1. one of the cross bars was not notched like it should have been and I had to ask a neighbor to cut one with his jigsaw, and 2.

the slots are meant for narrow, standard bottles, but many of ours are a little larger or different in size. I ended up not being able to use a few slots to make sure the bottles were spaced out enough.

Otherwise, it’s a great, inexpensive option that won’t fall apart!.

I love this rack. Easy to put together. Very sturdy and I like the quality of the wood. Recommend this item. Fit in a small hall closet.

Not happy with this product. The minute I put wine bottles on it, it collapsed. Very poorly built. It looks like you should just be able to put it together like Lincoln logs. The grooves are not designed to go together.

I like that it’s solid wood and American made, all the pieces were sanded smoothly, the stain was well done. The thing I didn’t know I was going to love about it until it got here is that each shelf is an individual unit, so you can use it as a single 7 shelf unit or break them up and use a couple racks in the kitchen and the others in another room.

I can easily see myself buying another set in the future because it’s sturdy and attractive and holds all the differently shaped bottles. It loses one star for how hard we had to work to assemble the pieces.

The instructions are simple, and there are even videos on YouTube, but the screws are difficult to tighten by hand.

This loos exactly like the picture, but when put together, it is not very sturdy. We used an electric screwdriver to put it together, and it still wobbles. The screws don’t go in far enough to even put in the end pieces to hide the screws.

It is serving it’s purpose for me, but if you were planning to have it openly displayed, or stacked with others, I probably would not recommend.

My wine rack is beautifully assembled and great quality construction. I did have to have someone with a power screw driver assemble it as it came unassembled. I’m very pleased with it overall. Speedy delivery was much appreciated.

Easy to assemble. Looks great. Works

The quality is okay and the appearance is fine but we found it really difficult to assemble. We just got everything slotted in and when we tried to turn it to screw the top and bottom in it fell apart.

We need 3 pairs of hands. It took us over an hour. The illustration style instructions could have been better. The wine bottles tilt forward and the middle sections won’t fit wider wine bottles, which is why I bought it.

The outer sections will take wider bottles. For these reasons I can only give it 3 stars.

Looks as good as pictures. You need 3 hands to assemble! Not all wine bottles fit in. Straight ones are fine. More curvy ones, like some Rioja’s, don’t. but you can use the top or bottom row for them.

I think this is a lovely quirky design and it’s easy to put together. Holds 12 bottles securely. I would definitely recommend anyone thinking of getting a wine rack to get this one. I’m delighted with the speedy response to my order and the delivery too.

It didn’t hold up too well during a move and now it seems even wobblier than before. It’s height makes it very wobbly. It becomes more stable when filled with wine bottles. The pull out shelf is useless.

It is not flat so nothing can be set on top of it. It would be better to get rid of the shelf for added space to the drawer.

The wine tower is gorgeous! And I’m so happy I finally have a place to show off all my cute wine glasses and wine collection. However, the color is more black than dark brown. So was debating returning it but didn’t because I wanted a wine tower so badly.

Once it was put together the drawer and legs were uneven so my hubby had to readjust the rolling contraption for the drawer and had to sand down the legs so it wouldn’t wobble. So a little extra work for it to be functional but happy with it now! Took about an hour to put together and directions were simple to follow.

This wine rack is beautiful! It is noticed by everyone. Arrived much earlier than it was expected! Love love love it. I would reccoyit to everyone!

Beautiful, Quality product. Arrived carefully packaged in perfect condition. I wish the wood was a lighter color as in the photo but that didn’t stop us from loving it.

Storage in a compact space. I needed to free up a she,f and this perfectly meets my need.

Its looks worn, used and well reclaimed as it should do. Solid built nice small top draw for popping the costers, corkscrew and cocktail umbrellas (!) – also nice feature on the draw is it won’t pull right out there is a nice old fashioned stopper so no fear of yanking it out in a drunken stupor.

talking of which it does come with some wall ties to secure against the wall which is good. I did have to pad out a little on the feet as they were a little out. again adds to the charm as it’s not meant to be MDF manufactured perfection.

Colour is as shown, shabby painting (again as it should be) around great. Also the size is perfect for what I needed and the bottles (standard wine bottle) fits fine (some the larger champagne-style might be little less stable but then its a ‘Wine’ rack so best keep that stuff in the fridge ready anyways!!!.

Arrived VERY quickly. Very well packed and all assembled which I didn’t expect. Looks exactly like the picture & is quite solid. Delighted with item 🙂

bottles do not sit down in the cradle and the bottles all hang out the back of the rack it has to sit about 50mm of the wall

This wine rack is made of solid clear Pine wood; it all fits together like puzzle pieces, no tools or hardware needed. It’s very stable once loaded; I purchased two units to stack on top of each other, so I did add brackets to the back in order to attach it to the wall, just for safety.

The wood is unfinished, which looks nice, but you could also paint the pieces. Or, as I did, you can stain & varnish the pieces for a more finished look. I’m really happy with my purchase; it easily fits a variety of bottle sizes, which is what sold me on this rack over some of the other selections.

This wine rack was very easy to assemble. The parts fit perfectly and just needed firm push to secure the parts. No tools needed. I assembled the rack as a set of three level racks of 2 to allow me to use the wine racks in a bedroom closet with built in shelves.

Worked perfectly and organized our wine bottles including Pinot bottles.

They round holes arent large enough for many wine bottles and certainly not any champagne bottles. I bought four and Im returning them because out of 12 bottles in my old wine rack, only four would fit in this one.

Its a shame since they are very attractive and well made.

Great quality product. Bamboo is an excellent eco-friendly material that is becoming more and more popular. Because this only holds 5 bottles- it’s not going to be my primary wine storage but it’s nice to keep on the kitchen counter for easy access.

I bought this product to use for in-store tastings. I can put 4 together for a nice size, bar height table. I just put a nice table cloth over them for the tasting. I could store extra bottles of what we’re tasting underneath.

When we’re not having a tasting, I use the racks as end caps at the ends of my aisles of wine. I can put a nice display of special wines on top and use the bottom for storage. They are very sturdy. It may take a while to put it together.

But, I think that makes it even more sturdy. I don’t feel like they’ll fall apart when a customer leans on them. I’ve had lots of customers ask if they can buy them from me. I may start stocking a few extra to sell.

Some wood pieces very dark and others relatively light. I expected some variation in color but not so much that they detracted from appearance. Both sides of drawer were cracked. Draw bottom was undersized.

Vendor quickly replaced. Complete lack of quality control. Manual very detailed, but not updated after hardware changes. Assembly pictures did not always match parts.

This piece was almost impossible to put together. The instructions were useless, and they didn’t even have all the parts listed, or listed correctly. We had screws that didn’t go anywhere. Once we threw away the instructions and treated it like a 3D jig saw puzzle we were fine.

I have put together lots of furniture (including a roll top desk), and never had so much trouble with assembly. Now that it is up and stocked it is really lovely. I guess it was worth the aggravation.

Now that I know how to assemble it it I would tell friends to get it, and I’ll help put it together (for a bottle of wine, of course).

The wine rack arrived as an Argos pickup this worked quite well. The assembly of it was more difficult than I thought it might be and there were only the barest pictorial assembly instructions. This is not a job that can be assembled as a push together kit.

Whilst the wooden pieces are pre-cut, pushing the metal pieces into them is not easy particularly as you have to put a metal cross piece in at the same time and you have to do it 36 times. I had to resort to hammering them together on the concrete floor of my garage and if you do not get it right, the metal strips bend quite easily and have to be straightened out before continuing.

Having hammered the metal cross pieces into the wooden pieces, the last job is to hammer 14 flat metal strips onto the other end of the wooden pieces using 2inch nails. Again not as easy as it sounds as although there were guide holes in the wooden pieces, they have to be aligned with holes in the two crossing metal strips and you have to do this again 36 times! Also be aware that the metal pieces can be quite sharp and I would advise wearing work gloves.

Once assembled it is quite strong and sturdy.

The product arrives dissembled. Being the 90 bottle size unless you have a suitably large work table, you’ll probably have to work on the floor on your hands and knees. Assembling it involves aligning cross cuts in the wooden pieces with the metal bars – not the easiest thing to do in this dark oak version because the cuts are very difficult to see and, necessarily, a very tight fit.

It’s quite easy to misalign so if you do you’ll need to take a step back and try again. Once assembled (two of us took three hours for the first one and about two hours for the second), it becomes very solid and stable.

We used the diagonal corner straps to screw it to the wall for extra stability – it wasn’t clear from the instructions if this was required.

The final product is great and I am happy with it, but it took me many more hours than I had anticipated to assemble this product. It arrives with 99 separate wooden posts which have to be hammered on to one metal frame (which has to be assembled first); the second mental frame (also unassembled) then has to be hammered onto the other end of the same posts with nails.

I understand that the same company sells the product ready assembled and – a good 4 hours into construction – I was very seriously wishing I had taken this option. In short, only buy the self-assembly version if you love DIY and (an awful lot of) hammering!.

Good Quality. Good Value. I bought two wine racks. both are now in use. i varnished all the wood before use to give them a better look and to prevent dirt/damage/water ingress. They are robust and well made.

I make cider and the racks are being used to keep bottles horizontal after pasteurisation and during cooling. They do the job. I will probably buy a couple more.

Comes fully assembled. Sturdy and accommodates bottles of wine, just as it should. What more can you say about a wine rack really? Oh, it does have some extra clips, loose, with no indication as to what they are for.

Other reviewers suggest they are to link 2 racks, or maybe they are to hang from a wall. No idea myself.

Was looking for a black rack to use for storage of soft drinks and water in newly refurbished kitchen and didnt expect to find one so finding this was a surprise but so glad I did. Excellent quality and fully assembled which was an added bonus ! Looks much more expensive.

Would highly recommend.

Another covid lockdown task completed! After tyears hunting through a mess of boxes under the stairs our wine cellar is finally organised thanks to the great racks from KingsBottle and the brilliant CellarTracker app.

The racks fit perfectly in the complicated geometry of the space, came within a couple of days and were pretty easy to assemble – a rubber mallet would’ve been a useful tool to have to hand for the larger 110 bottle rack.

Customer service was v good – got a phone call from them immediately I placed the order to check that I had ordered the right parts for my intended configuration. I had but appreciated their call as working out the details could have led to an error.

Whilst the product was good one of the metal connecting struts was too short, for a six stack rather than a seven; as it happened this didn’t matter but it’s worth checking the parts carefully when delivered.

Unfortunately the downside of having having an organised wine cellar is that it’s much easier to empty.

We had a small version of the wine rack in the past and were happy with it. This time we went big, so we finally can store most of our wine properly in the basement. Despite the size the rack is just as sturdy as the smaller version, yet just as elegant.

Takes a bit of time to assemble (a rubber camping hammer helps), but is easy enough to do. Very happy.
