20 Best Wool Long Underwear (2022 Updated)

Over the years, I’ve put the fate of my lower half in the hands of many a long john advertised as being the best. However, until recently I’d yet to find a pair with the comfort and durability required in when hunting in the rugged mountains of North Idaho.

Thankfully, my search for the perfect leg wear has come to an end. I’ve had the opportunity to use these long johns a handful of times this season, and I couldn’t be happier. No longer do I worry about my chestnuts being frozen in cold temps or roasted when hiking though the woods.

They are the perfect blend of cozy comfort, rugged durability, and temperature regulation. You could freaking live in these things. seriously! Not to mention, when you wear these long johns, you become at least 25% better at hunting and catch 30% more fish.

Wearing these these cozy leg warming chestnut cradles is my new favorite part of the outdoors! Another solid win for First Lite.

The Kiln 250 Long John is very comfortable and warm. It seems to be best suited for moderately cold weather from the mid 40 degrees to the lower 30 degrees. It does a great job of transporting perspiration away from the skin during strenuous activities and drys quickly.

The fit is a bit loose which makes it difficult to wear under a tighter fitting second layer. I have noticed some pilling of the outer surface but it seems to be only a cosmetic issue so far. Over all, this is a very useful part of my layering system.

The rise on these is incredibly low. Perhaps someone likes these but they basically gave me a moose knuckle. I really can’t emphasize enough how much I disliked this sizing. I purchased based on owning a pair of size medium Allegheny long jons.

I wanted to like them because they seem like a quality material. The overall sizing is a bit small using their guidelines (legs, butt and waist). Perhaps there’s a teenage girl out there looking for extra warm yoga pants.

I would pass on these.

Pretty good Long Johns but the ankle openings are very small and I had to cut them so that I could fit my foot through the legs. However, being exceptionally well-endowed, I appreciate the extra room in the crotch area.

Keeps me warm on the motorcycle, there soft and feel great under my jeans.

These aren’t quite as toasty as some of the other reviews indicated. Personally, I’m glad of this: I tend to run hot and was worried I’d find myself sweaty and stifled by them, even in the cold. But no, they strike a good balance worn as the only layer under my heavy-but-uninsulated work pants, only starting to feel chilly in gusty 20s weather.

I expect this is all I will need even as the winter progresses. As for fit, they’re snug below the knees and at the waist to keep the cold out, yet they’re looser around the thighs and groin, a design that is accommodating to a man’s body.

I typically wear 34×34 or 34×36, and I got a Large Tall, which was perfect.

These replace my Duofolds, which were my go-to everyday long underwear bottoms 7 months of the year. They have a more comfortable fit, being looser around the ankle; and I have skinny ankles, so other brands must be way too tight for most people.

I Love them! Better made, thicker, and warmer. I’m buying more!.

My husband loves the weightlessness and warmth of these. A note of caution, however, regarding sizing: I purchased the women’s version earlier this year in a large although I’m 5’ 6” and 113#. They’re loose on me – the way I like them – but they shrank quite a bit after cold-water wash, hang dry.

As a result, I bought an xl for my 165 #, 5’ 11” husband, and he says they’re a perfect fit, so I don’t know whether they would work for a big person.

I have used this product for years as I worked in the woods and they met my needs. They are a good product, don’t cause any irritation, are warm enough for the average winter in my area. The last couple of pairs had a flaw: the inside seam of the leg was not sewed together, being apparently missed when made.

My sewing machine corrected this flaw. I like the good cuffs and soft fabric. I would recommend this product.

Nothing special, just good insulation to when I go XC skiing. I have sworn by these pants as as my underlayer and they are very versatile and are great for outdoor activities where you want to be warm but also dry.

When paired with an outer shell, I’ve gone XC skiing in near zero and sub-zero temperatures and felt comfortable.

My husband loves these! He’s cold all the time from chemo & radiation treatments from cancer. He beat it! Yay! I buy these every year. Good quality! Not itchy, just warm.

Since it is made in Denmark, it has a long inseam, but since it is underwear, some looseness is not noticeable. If you want to wear something tight on top, just fold back the hem. On the other hand, the rise is shallow.

It is under the navel. It’s a cold-weather underwear, so it’s good to cover your stomach completely, but since it has good elasticity, you can pull it on your navel, but I think the idea is to keep your upper body warm with another underwear.

Thermal pants ideal for use in extreme conditions under normal pants. They are composed of 80% merino wool and the rest of polyamide. They are extremely comfortable and very warm, and they look good.

It has surprised me, that being its composition mainly wool, they do not sting at all and that they can be washed in the washing machine. Woolen garments usually have to be washed by hand and they tend to sting.

Nothing more to add. You fulfill your role and I really liked them.

The pants are good enough but sizing is very large. I’m a S usually but even the XS are large on me. My first pair had a tear in the crotch but Danish endurance kindly replaced it (in a smaller size).

The material does seem to be wearing down quicker than other merino tops I’ve owned though.

The fit is just off. The waist is great and the length is great but as soon as your heel is half way down the leg while putting on, it immediately narrows and you feel like you’re going to push your foot right to the material.

Way, way way too tight and kind of stiff feeling. Some WoolX items are soft regardless of weight but for some reason these are rigid, almost starchy feeling. Not a fan of these but I kept them for winter work use under a waterproof out shell.

Hope I don’t punch my foot through the material before getting a couple seasons in.

This product is of good quality and the value expectation is several seasons of cold weather to enjoy the structure of the garment. The sensation of this product upon the flesh is comforting. The stitching and seams appear to be well constructed and should perform well for a period of time.

The fly fit is true to a track on the album. The shipping and handling is good. I would expand my collection of this product line for the various conditions on the mountain and in the valleys for future expeditions.

A pair of garments would round out the gear set for the assorted conditions one would experience in the field. The middle and heavy weight base layers should cover you well. A strong buy recommendation here.

The ensamble of top and bottoms base layer is the matched set for sure comfort to the parry of bone chilling cold. A good product for men.

Bought a pair for my son for his birthday, and he loves them, and said they were much warmer than the one’s he bought at REI. He lives in Washington where it’s cold most the year, except a few months in summer.

Prior, I bought a pair for myself. Washed by hand, water clean. Wore them and washed and dried twice since, with very little shrinkage, if any. (My delicate cycle is not so delicate and forgot to take them out for 30 minutes.

) Excellent customer service, flexible, speedy on answering text message questions. The BEST!!.

After moving back to Chicago I found myself wearing my husbands wool base layers on snowy days. I loved them! They were so warm and comfy. The only problem was that they had a fly in front, which I had no use for, and which I didn’t want to be caught wearing should I be in an accident.

So I looked for the women’s equivalent. Like most women’s clothes, comfort and functionality-wise, these are FAR inferior to the men’s version. First, they’re not as thick, and so not as warm (though they are better than plain leggings as an under-layer).

Second, I’m not sure if it’s the cut of the pants or the shape of my booty, or some combination of the two, but these things ride a little low in the back end and don’t feel like they give me full, comfortable coverage in that area.

I might have rated these higher if it weren’t for the fact I wore the men’s version and loved them so much, and now I know what potential a nice base pant can have. I’m also annoyed that once again women get cheated when it comes to clothing functionality.

I’m always colder than my husband. Why are my underlayers a thinner wool?? And my butt is definitely curvier than his, so why is the women’s version made for a stick figure? All that said, they’re fine.

I wear them and they keep me warm. But for $100 I would have expected more warmth and comfort. I’d recommend them if I had paid $20. But at this price I don’t recommend them.

There is nothing I love more than smartwool base layers. my last pair of these I wore every single day during the winter and fall (basically once it hit 55°) and they lasted 5 years. I had to replace them because they got some rips and holes in them.

but I think it’s due to where they were stored at one point. Anyway. They’re very warm and they’re comfortable. they are different from a few years ago as they don’t fit tightly around the ankle. I like when they fit tight around the ankle because it’s easier for layering.

these tend to ride up when adding layers on top. Still not a deal breaker. This being said, I like the way it fits in the butt more than my last pair although they can get a little camel-toey on the front end and I’m not sure how comfortable I would feel wearing them by themselves.

it almost feels intentional. These are also less fitted around the hips, in a good way, as I had the same size previously and they always left marks. So better in the butt, the same in the front, better in the hips, ankle depends on preference- I suppose they’re more comfy, but harder to layer.

oh. the medium fit HUGE on me, so they do run a little big, I’m 134, for reference, with wide hips for my body, and neither a big nor small bum. will purchase again.

Being a senior female who usually wears jeans but feels the cold these days I decided to treat myself to some Merino base layer bottoms. Opted for Smartwool 250 because I love it, and everything said about Merino stuff is absolutely true, and these bottoms don’t disappoint.

They look like leggings or workout pants rather than long underwear (I’m still wearing old woollen ski stuff from Norway I bought 25 years ago which I’ve loved but which does look like underwear. ) They are comfortable, don’t itch, and certainly amp up the warmth factor.

I would have preferred a medium or even large size, but couldn’t get them so got XL. They do the job and still fit under my jeans, so I can’t really comment on being true to size. They will be perfect however under wind pants for XC skiing.

Interesting note, I washed them in hot water and dried them in the dryer and they did not shrink! Certainly highly recommended for anyone who spends time outdoors (or lives in Canada, for all that!) and it will probably outlast me!.

Three pairs of Acadian underwear, two pairs of Kancamagus long underwear, one Explorer men’s crew mid weight shirt, one Kodiak fleece brushed wool hoodie expedition weight (this thick hoodie is money!), one Trailblazer full zip hoodie mid weight (this one is my favorite piece! I sleep in it).

I’m 64 yrs, I camp at 7,900ft elevation, the temperature in my living space is 45 f avg. I have always used wool clothing. I have hand washed all my new -33 clothing using dish soap and cool water. I have air dried and used a dryer set at low or extra low with excellent results.

This wool (superfine merino) feels like tightly woven cashmere and has not stretched or shrunk or pilled, after two washes and six weeks of wear. I’m 5’11, arm measurement is 36in. I got the XXL tops and the long length long underwear.

They fit a little long, that’s how I like them. This is a great textile line. The top pocket (nylon mesh inner liner) on the hoodies is not my favorite but they’re functional and I don’t notice the nylon.

The Trailblazer has nylon mesh for the lower, zippered-pockets lining “quick dry”. I don’t like the nylon but it’s functional and does not bother me. All in all, best knit wool textile I’ve found yet.

Having been in the outdoor industry for a number of years I’ve always heard about the benefits of Merino wool, but I just hadn’t bought a proper top/bottom set due to the higher prices and generally not seeing a product I wanted to invest in(seeing lower quality Merino from REI, etc.

) until I came across Minus33. Got the Kancamagus & Chocura midweight set as a new year present to myself to use on winter hikes in Western NC, and have been SO impressed with them. I’m writing this now after having used them properly on a below freezing overnighter on the Appalachian Trail, the temps were probably 25-32°F over the course of my time out there, and even less at night when I slept with the set in my 15° down bag, and WOW! Wore the bottoms along with a non-insulated pant from Handup, and the upper with a zip up sweater and vest over the top(also used a heavier jacket when relaxing at camp, but had to take it off while hiking due to overheating), I wouldn’t even describe my body temperature as ever even getting “chilly” despite the temps and generally less layering than I would normally rely on pre-merino.

Another one of the benefits I noticed is odor management, I haven’t washed the set despite a hand full of wears and a hike in them(need to get some proper wool detergent first lol) and they almost smell new, which is insane, I’m a pretty stinky dude and I know for a fact my odor contaminates my outdoor clothing and I would never expect something I literally hiked and slept in to smell nearly “fresh”.

Super happy with my first venture into Merino, and will return to Minus33 when I’m looking for more!.

I consistently recommend these lyers to anyone I meet if we’re talking about long underwear or cold weather. This stuff is awesome. Five stars. I bought a single pair of these six years ago and finally decided to write a review – Think I tested them enough.

No holes or tears, no worn-out spots, and they’ve survived surprisingly well for what I wear them for. This is the most comfortable base layer I own. The fit runs slightly long in the leg but I’m 5’8″, 190 lbs and bought a large so I think most people buying larges are probably a little taller.

I’ve worn these everywhere from sailing down the sounds of the North Carolina coast in February to backpacking up the coast of Washington state in the Olympics in July. They go everywhere with me because they’re super soft, they’re warm, they don’t stink, and they drain water.

I wore them as outerwear for a swampy run in Pennsylvania yesterday, 40 degrees and overcast with standing water on a riverside trail, and my legs stayed warm. Big thing I noticed, when I crossed feeder streams my lower legs would get soaked (obvi), but water drained out of the wool and it felt almost dry on my skin after a few seconds – Think this is because some parts of wool fibers are hydrophobic.

Really strange but really cool to watch the water receding down the pant leg. I expected the cold wet feeling but was pleasantly surprised. You don’t get that cold fabric feeling like if you’ve ever left the gym in cold weather in a wet synthetic shirt.

Where the wet poly immediately chills and feels ice cold on your skin. No clamminess, no cold fabric feel, still can’t believe it feels as warm and snuggly while wet as it did. I really want to pick up an expedition-weight set just to wear around the house of for low-impact stuff.

Boxer briefs in rotation: – SAXX Quest 2. 0 – Under Armour Boxerjock – Under Armour Boxerjock Mesh – BN3TH Pro Boxer Brief – ExOfficio Give-N-Go From my perspective, I’ll say these are in a similar class to the SAXX, which are currently my preferred pair of the ones I listed.

However, I do have a few gripes with these: – No fly. Obviously I knew this before I made the purchase, but it’s a lot more of a nuisance than I expected it to be. – (Hanging?) Loop. There’s what looks to be a hanging loop on the band.

If you’re planning to lounge around in these, the corners/edges of the loops are a little sharp. Not to the point where they’ll scrape/cut you, but it’s just a slight annoyance. I’ve never used this loop.

– Price. At $40/each, these are marginally more expensive than the Quest 2. 0, but I’d rather have those. Pros: – Similarly breathable and comfortable as the Quest 2. 0. The original UA Boxerjocks are the most comfortable of the bunch, but they’re also less breathable and don’t have a dedicated pouch.

– Don’t ride up as much as the Quest 2. 0 – Pouch works similarly to the Quest 2. 0. I’d like to see the pouch enlarged and more separated on both of these, but they’re both better than the other entries I’ve mentioned.

Conclusion: Similar offering to SAXX Quest 2. 0 in my personal experience. The major decision criteria I would use is whether you want/need a fly and the price at time of purchase. If they were identically priced, I’d likely choose the Quest 2.

0 for the fly alone.

Well, it finally happened: after several years of regular daily use, almost the very last of my ‘MyPakage’ boxers finally had to be retired to the wastebin. Thankfully I still have a few Icefils left without holes and intact waistbands, and they still can’t be beat for busy travel on-the-go, but I was starting to wonder what I would try next when I finally wore these last few ones out.

I was concerned that with a name change to the brand, and the inevitable expected ‘cheap-out’ of quality reduction that many modern companies push-out these days, that the new Bn3th models would be substandard quality with a likely awful, scratchy feel to them, compared to the older MyPakage styles.

Thankfully I was completely wrong in this assumption. I ordered 5 new pairs of the Classic Boxer briefs, so as not to fully wear out the last of my Icefils, and was very pleasantly surprised that these new boxers were even more comfortable and flexible than many of my older MyPakage styles, such as Pro, Everyday, and Sport.

I just wish I had ordered these new models sooner–the sheer comfort and breathability is definitely worth it, and they are actually lighter, and thus cooler. If you’re like me and really appreciated the men’s underwear revolution that was MyPakage years ago, you’re going to love the new Bn3th quality and feel even more!.

I found BN3TH when I was looking for replacement underwear for the boxers that I have worn for 30+ years. I wanted something with some support for my berries and tried a few different brands. The BN3TH brand classics were the most comfortable out of all the brands I tried.

I like that not only do they have the “My Package” pouch for support but they add extra space for everything to sit in and not smash everything together like other brands do. If I wanted to be crushed and have to constantly adjust things I would just wear regular boxer briefs.

The BN3TH brand are very comfortable and everything fits great without having to constantly adjust for all day wear. I highly recommend them, I wear a 34 waist short/pants and in these I wear the smalls and they fit great.

The mediums that I tried first tended to ride up a bit on the leg but we’re definitely comfortable fitting. The smalls cover all the bases and are my new go to for comfort and support.

I have been preaching to coworkers about merino wool under layers. I’ve been wearing merino wool since I hiked the grand canyon in October 6years ago (90degrees down to 40 at night). I like light layers of merino for when it’s very cold and a hoodie instead of a jacket.

I also wear merino wool on shift in the winters because we don’t know when we will have prolonged exposures to cold outdoors. I usually wear 2-3layers of light merino and a hoodie for skiing or hunting.

I had 3 layers of light merino for goose hunting in the polar vortex 2 years back, and a hoodie. I’ll wear merino wool as thermal layers in rescue diving under my dry suit, we don’t need so much loft (adds buoyancy) because we aren’t in depth, but need thermal layers and moisture wicking.

Prolonged dive trainings and incidents the merino layers are great. Badlands products fit well to size, 6’0” 210pounds, XL top, L bottom seem to be the right combination for me. Pretty durable too after 100+ days of wearing for 8+ hour durations and wash like any other garment.

I used to use wool wash and separate everything. But I just wear the piece until it falls apart. I have almost every brand of merino and layering, badlands is at the top of the list.

Wore these out on a turkey hunt in PA. Fit was perfect and the weight was just right. I was comfortable even though I was in the rain for 3 hours. My pants started getting wet after 2. 5 hours but this baselayer kept me dry and comfortable.

I never got hot or cold but was able to focus on the hunt. Rain did not defeat Badlands Gear.

Awsome base layer , love the merino wool material. It’s soft comfortable and definitely moisture wicking never felt damp or sweaty while wearing these. Hiked a few times wearing these in mid October with temps round +15C degrees, never felt too hot or cold with these and the wicked sweat good.

Bought large and fit perfect , pretty form fitting not super baggy. I’m 36”-32” in most of my pants but I went with large and it was a good choice. Gotta get the Shirt next !.

After reading several reviews here, I was skeptical about spending $100 on something that wouldn’t fit me right. I had been wearing thin silk base layers under my ski pants and wanted a wool upgrade for colder temps.

I went to try these on in store and despite other reviews, they didn’t feel too low riding. The material is comfortable and the waistband feels thicker than other base layer brands, and fits nicely at my belly button.

Do I wish they had a higher waist like some of my other leggings? Sure. But these feel soft and comfortable and don’t ride up or down under my ski pants. I wore them skiing for 4 days straight and they held up to cold temps and didn’t make me sweat on the warmer days.

Plus they didn’t smell bad after not washing for a week. Would buy again.

These pants have worked out great for me! I tried on a ton of varieties of base layers- wool, synthetic, blend- and decided I wanted to go with wool because of the wicking, warmth, and antimicrobial properties, and these were both the most comfortable of the wool options and the best fit.

I’m of absolutely average size in all ways- 5’6″, 162 lbs. – and for some reason the Smartwool 200 base layer was about 2-3″ too long in the legs, but the 250 weight fit perfectly. They were the softest of the pants I tried.

And while they’re tight, they’re not uncormrotably so. They move well with you and they’re snug, as base layers should be. They work perfectly with my normal spring-fall hiking pants (prAnas) on top- just adding extra warmth without being too bulky or too hot.

Bought these for my father who has worn Smartwool base layers for many years. He has always worn size Medium in Smartwool but these were tighter not only around the legs, but around the waist as well.

And he is even a slim person. It was like they ran a full size smaller. I always wear size small, so I tried them on and the medium actually fit me well; only slightly long in length. Seems like Smartwool changed the fit to make the base layers tighter and more compression-like.

While this may work for certain types of winter sports and young customers who wear their pants tight these days, it is not a comfortable fit for your average consumers to simply wear all day. The fit is too restricting.

I wish they would bring back the older, slightly more relaxed fit so my father can continue buying Smartwool.

These are my first pair of Smartwool base layer pants. They are incredibly comfortable. The waistband doesn’t itch or seem too tight, but they also stay where you want them. As a base layer they are in a kind of middle ground.

If one was lounging around they house, they work as lightweight sweatpants, but I wouldn’t go to the store without a real pair of pants over them. But they are also thicker than other (probably lighter weight) base layers I’ve had.

Getting them arranged and straightened out over boxers (I didn’t like wearing them without something underneath), and under pants. So that is something to be aware of as you’re deciding what to get. I think the pockets are worth calling out as well, they’re definitely good-sized (you can see my hand all the way in one of them in the picture).

It’s another aspect that make these be in that middle ground of base layer/and warm and cozy lounge pants. #SmartwoolLove.

These were my first non-socks Smartwool product I’ve ever purchased. They feel great and fit snugly, just like the socks. But the area below the groin started to rip within a couple of months of use.

The hole is now the size of a fist, and I’ve only had them since mid-November 2020. I usually wear a waterproof shell over these. But now I can’t wear them climbing without worrying about a cold draft between the legs when it’s windy.

I’m also not sure if they’re as warm as advertised. The comparable REI midweight layer I still have feels warmer. Perhaps it was the luck of the draw that I got the lousy pair?.

My son is only 5’10” but wears a 34” inseam and hates anything that is too short, including his base layers. I bought these because he was super frustrated with his regular length ones and refusing to wear any…but WHY are people with long legs not allowed to be SKINNY? You would think a store that caters to athletic/fit people would make a SMALL size in tall pants.

He was 28×34, but can sometimes almost get into a 30” waist…but really wants longer pants. I guess she has a short torso?? I returned them, and am hoping a different brand out there somewhere makes some small talls or regular ones that are longer.

(And yes, he doesn’t care that socks will meet them-he’s 16 and knows what is comfortable for him. ).

I wore these bottoms on a climb up Mt. Baker. Temps were pretty mellow, so I didn’t really test the limits, but these kept me warm overnight in the sleeping bag as well as when getting ready in the morning.

As warm as I was, I never overheated during the climb. I also wore these one day on a boat trip. I wore them under shorts in windy mid-50s weather, and my legs felt fine. They did surprisingly well at preventing heat loss to the wind.

I would definitely recommend these over the smart wool equivalent, as I found them more comfortable and they feel much more durable after being worn and washed. My one concern is that the elastic at the ankles doesn’t stretch very far.

I found them a little difficult to pull past my heels when I was putting them on, and it seems like the most likely failure point for a tear to develop if you wear these with any frequency and have larger feet.

Nothing really wrong with these – just an average base layer. Its nice that they have a tall version, but quite honestly I always wear base layers with tall socks – so a little short on the leg isn’t a big deal.

Hard to test the warmth during this unusually hot PNW summer, but they seem to work well and wash/dry easily. The ankles are a little tight and the waist is a little large, but not enough to warrant a return.

It may sound strange, but it would be nice to have a pocket or two. I usually wear these at night and in the morning around basecamp for a bit, and it would be nice to have a pocket for a phone/ear plugs/etc.

My smartwool base layer is still my #1, its much softer and has a padded waistband. but these are nice to have as a backup pair.

These are super comfortable. Compared to other merino wool base layer companies; these are on the thin side. I’m ok with that. They work well under jeans or under snowboarding pants. The extra pocket space for your junk in front sets them apart and above the rest.

I ordered a Large and am 6’1, 205.

You would *hope* that after 13 iterations with numerous alterations on many of them that you would end up with something *half* as good as BN3TH’s offerings. and You Would Be HAPPY!!! I *know* I do not have to try to come up with anything ‘good enough’, when I can simply purchase *Awesome* Über Underpants.

Snug enough to stay in position and they seldom ‘migrate’ during strenuous activities. 🎶Wicky-Wicky-Wicking!!!🎶 and, of course, 🎶”You gotta Keep them Separated!!!”🎶 with MyPackage Pouch Technology. Plus, they also have the NorthShore Cycling Shorts.

It’s an excellent product and met my expectations. The size of extra large fit me with the just right amount of snug. It keeps me warm on some of the coldest days. I have worn this on days at the 20 degree mark so I did not take this out below that.

My one ding is that it is an expensive product for a basic underlayer.

Was a gift for my husband who works at night outdoors. They’ve helped him keep warm and fit perfectly. He measured right on the line between two sizes for these, so I contacted the Mack Weldon staff who made a recommendation based on his measurements and the item.

They recommended we go with the smaller size, and it fits great. My only “issue” is that I bought both the top and bottom of this set, but needed two different sizes. They were not able to match the price discount offered for buying a matching size set.

They did however give me a 20% off voucher, so that was nice. Also, they were rather slow to respond, I contacted them after two weeks waiting and they replied 2 days later. But the item itself is lovely so I won’t detract stars for that.

Gave these to my husband as a birthday present and they ripped within a couple of hours! Not what you’d expect for the cost. I reached out to MW to process a return and was told that they weren’t issuing me a refund but rather sending a replacement.

I don’t want another pair of poor quality made pants for my husband to wear, I just want my money back. I have yet to hear back from costumer service to resolve this issue. Overall, I am very disappointed with my experience with Mack Weldon.

I’ve been looking for a baselayer with a fit like this for some time now. The pant fits a little more snug than most layers like this, but is not skin tight. I particularly like this because they can be worn under tapered and slimmer fit pants without feeling bunchy.

The pants offer great warmth for their weight and do not get uncomfortable when things get warm. These will be a cold weather go to!.

These are perfect for so many things. Of course you could wear them as long underwear in the winter. They are very thin material and not bulky like other brands, but they are also super soft, cut generously so they aren’t too tight around the waist and they have the legging look.

I wear them with a t-shirt for yoga, I wear them with longer dresses in place of tights, I wear them with my nightgowns in the winter, I wear them with sweatshirts to lounge around and I will be buying more because I am finding them to be just about the most comfortable thing in my drawers (haha – the most comfortable drawers in my drawers! lol).

I am a plus size and very pleased with the fit.

I am so glad I purchased these long underwear bottoms. It seems as I get older, I dislike cold weather. These are wonderful. They run true to size and are very comfortable and do keep me warm and toasty.

They did not shrink when I washed them. I know I will be ordering more of them.

The fabric is very poor quality & the craftsmanship isn’t much better. Wear them for a short period & they stretch out, get baggy all over. And if you’re a small woman (I’m 5’1″, weigh 110), size Small will be too big.

The first time I washed them, the legs twisted. I’m so disappointed that VCS would sell such a low-quality item.

Seems there’s no way to really prepare for that initial sensation you’re going to experience when you first unbox something like this. The amazing quality, attention to detail, stunning beauty, and just some kind of shear rugged elegance simply gonna blow you away! Old-world craftsmanship is still alive and well at Devold!.

Great leggings- beats any other I’ve had here in the UK (you won’t find this kind of quality stitching & fabric from the likes of Montane or Rab- truly built for the cold. ) Fit is exactly as described- not too large or too small.

You can invert them to get some extra use out of them if they start to smell (which will be a necessity on trips lasting more than a week in the snow. ) Extremely comfortable with a mesh-like feeling against the skin that will ensure you don’t feel sweaty, but still feel warm.

The first day out in these I was a happy customer. After 3 days of use there is ALREADY a hole forming in the crotch area, and not on a seam. 3 days? Come on. I either got a dud pair, or this stuff is WAY OVERPRICED.

Disappointed is an understatement of underwear.

Wow! nice product! i wear some type of legging as a base layer when it is really cold, tried these all day yesterday and slept in them last night. wore them under stretch tech water resistant joggers at work, these are VERY thin but do the job of adding warmth due to the wool.

they are NOT scratchy at all!! because they are thin, they will work better under all pants as they are not bulky. 5’4″ 150 lbs, i wear a 12 jean , medium in stretch teck joggers and a large in these wool leggings.

very stretchy too. would love a fashion top in a double layer of this fabric. split neck shirt maybe? these are definitely not old fashioned waffle long johns. i will be buying more!.

I have been loving these (what I call) test items that ON is trying. dipping toes into more quality and higher-end designs, fabrics and staples! Yes to wool and wool blends!!! These base layer tights and the puffy/quilted front leggings are it!! Please, please, please tell me that you are making the matching base-layer top for women that is shown in these photos of the bottoms.

I only see the men’s top version when I search and, honestly, I would buy three sets of these for myself. It beats the higher-cost outdoors brands any day!! More of these higher-quality items ON, please? Happy and willing to spend my $!.
