12 Best Workbench Power Strip (2022 Updated)

I am using this strip as an extension cord and extra outlet for a dehumidifier and a box fan in my basement. I have it plugged into an outlet far from where I could place the dehumidifier and fan so I needed an extension cord.

I wanted a heavy duty strip that would not overheat as the dehumidifier recommended not using anything by an extension cord for appliances. I have not had any overheating or problems with this item and I am impressed with the construction, feel and durability of the strip and attached cord.

As I get older I realize that purchasing quality immediately can save you money, thus not buying cheap and then needing to purchase quality later. It is a plus all the way around! Purchase once and keep for a lifetime!.

Firstly, this is from a trusted brand. Tripp Lite makes high quality products. This power strip is made of metal. It’s truly an industrial quality power strip. It also doens’t have a power switch nor a surge protector, meaning that it’s OK to plug this into a UPS or another surge protector.

I take away just 1 star because I wish that the outlets were spaced a bit further apart to accommodate large “wall wart” style AC adapters. Otherwise, this is a fantastic power strip. I purchased 6 of these for use in the live events industry where, despite how carefully things get packed, they take a beating over time.

This was required to use a NordicTrac Treadmill:Use only a surge suppressor that is UL 1449 listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS). The surge suppressor must have a UL suppressed voltage rating of 400 volts or less and a minimum surge dissipation of 450 joules.

The surge suppressor must also be electrically rated for 120 volts AC and 15 amps. There must be a monitoring light on the surge suppressor to indicate whether it is functioning properly. Failure to use a properly functioning surge suppressor could result in damage to the control system of the treadmill and serious injury to users.

A good thing I am pleased to have for when I might need to use it. I have had some break in the past – apearing faultily constructed.

Nice quality materials and construction, cords have a positive / firm feel when plugged in. Eight foot cord ideal for reaching in between outlets. The low profile swivel plug works excellent for plugging into outlets behind solid backed furniture.

I would buy another if needed.

I bought this surge protector to replace one that was at least 10 years old. I went with Anker because I have had great experiences with their products and their customer service is amazing. I bought another Anker surge protector a couple weeks ago and when comparing the two, the only thing that I realize I don’t particularly like on this 12-outlet unit is the switch.

I think they could’ve put a slightly beefier switch on it to give it a more solid feel—but that is a minor complaint. I bought it for my TV & game consoles that I have in my bedroom and the number and layout of the outlets is perfect.

I’m only using half of them but the others aren’t being blocked by what’s plugged in currently. I always recommend Anker when it comes to power—whether it’s a rechargeable power bank, a charging brick for my phone, or in this case, for my home theater.

They make really good quality products and I’ll continue buying and recommending them. Easy 5-stars.

Ordered two of these, one a similar model. Both hard plastic, light weight and cheap. Not like other Anker products I own and have ordered before. Returned them. Anker did not refund my money because I did not email Anker and tell them that they had the return in hand.

My order was printed out and included in the box. My return authorization email was printed out and included in the box. Both documents had my order number on it yet Anker sat on my return for weeks until I called to find out why they did not issue a return.

I was told at that time that their policy is for US to email THEM to tell them they received what they are holding in their hands. Filed an FTC complaint against this corrupt practice. You should too if they pull this on you! Anker, if you pull this feedback I will never buy from you again and I’ll use other formats to fill out the same.

I bought 5 powerstrips through Amazon having several powerstrips that I don’t believe have been changed in years. However, realized that I needed at least one with a longer cord for a supply room. The direct Anker store had a sale for it so I grabbed one.

Having two dual surge protectors in one device is fantastic. The build quality seems good too! I really hope these keep our devices protected (I lost a TV just before these arrived, unfortunately). My only dislikes are that these are white and are definitely getting dirty (black costs extra), maybe Anker can incorporate some USBs into this version (Anker is unique in the dual surge protection haven’t seen it before).

Also even with the spacing and several ports large brick plugs are difficult to organize, though I don’t cast all blame on the powerstrips.

I purchased the Tripp Lite PS-7224 Vertical Power Strip to install over my seven (7) foot wide work bench. I liked it so well, that I purchased another one for the other seven (7) foot wide work bench.

Installation: The power strip is very easy to install. It comes with all the installation hardware that I needed. Power Cord: The cord was about twelve (12) feet longer than I needed, so I cut the cord to about three (3) feet long and added a male plug on the end.

I put a female plug on the electrical wire that was extra and created a twelve (12) foot extension cord. Receptacles: The female receptacles are high quality. They hold the male plugs very snugly, yet allow me to push them in easily and pull them out easily.

They are better receptacles then my wall ones that were installed by the electrician. Power Switch: The on/off power switch is nicely covered, so I don’t accidently bump it and turn the power strip off.

Power Light: The power on/off indicator light is a very nice feature. I can tell if the power strip is turned on with a quick glance at it. Quality: I have been using both of these power strips for a couple of months now.

They are still as good as new. They look like they will last a long time. I would definitely purchase these again. Price: This particular model was less expensive than other models with less receptacles and shorter length.

I will not need all the receptacles, but with the price being so low, I didn’t want to spend more money for less receptacles. I do like the six (6) foot length for my seven (7) foot wide work benches.

Staples had the lowest total price that I could find. I found some other places with lower product price, but when the shipping was added, Staples had them all beat by at least $6! Great Product! Great Price!.

First off, buying this for a garage project so I had some specific requirements. I needed a long cord, wide space between the plugs so could plug in transformers, and a cord that exited out the end or the back half of the power strip.

When received the plugs are lined up with the power strip rather than parallel to it, meaning that the third plug (earth ground) is long ways on the power strip rather than towards one of the closer edges.

There is still enough room to plug most transformers in it, but if you have a monster or two you might still be wanting a little space. The cord that goes to the wall was another issue, it didn’t come out one of the ends or on the back side but comes out the same side as the outlets.

It makes it a little difficult if you are trying to hide a wire or putting close to the ground and don’t want a trip hazard. But I was hard wiring it in to an emergency cutoff switch for my work bench so I pulled it apart, drilled a hole in the backside and plugged the hole in the front.

I can tell you from pulling it apart it is built fairly well. As far as the cord, it is 14 gauge wire so can handle most of anything a common home would put it through, but if doing some serious construction work or something you’d probably want to go with something a little heavier.

And overall I’d say its a good product for the price.

I had bout the 4 foot 16 outlet power strip from trip light and was vary much satisfied with it. So I bout 1 more for my self and 3 more for friends. And they are satisfied with there’s. How ever I was running out of sockets and sense the power strip was behind my dresser it was hard to get to the unused plugs.

So I bout this one 6 foot 24 outlets for all my electronics to plug into and I am more satisfied with this one then I am with the 4 foot 16 outlet unit. The 4 Foot 16 Outlet unit I plan to give to my friend she needs it.

Over all Satisfied , Happy , Lots of much needed outlets , Plan to buy more of these.

This is quite possibly the worst power strip I have ever bought. Seriously, how can you screw up a power strip? The “on” switch offers 2 options – Reset or Off. I have been able to turn the power on the powerstrip on just once.

Maybe the unit I have is broken but either way it’s a dumb design for a simple product.

I hooked it right up and it seems to be working just fine. It is long enough for what I wanted it for. I would buy this again, or maybe one with a longer cord.

Electrician said it would be $1,000 to add an outlet next to my bed because they’d have to go through attic full of insulation. This 6′ power strip solved the problem for under $25!

This white power strip was just hat we needed in our bedroom next to the bed to charge our phones, tablets, and still have room to plug in a lamp and a clock. It looks clean and sharp being white instead of brown or black.

The only thing I found negative was that the cord is so stiff that it was hard to get it to go around the night stand. I solved that problem by buying clips made specifically for that size cord and nailing the cord to the baseboard, and that kept it out of the way!.

I like that it has a light to show it is on, and the 6 ft cord is excellent. Very nice with six outlets. Will definitely buy them again.

If you are attaching the strip to a wall this is the one you need. The others have holes in the back and you must slide the case onto the screws. Very weak and unstable. This has the holes on the end.

Actually they are only indentations and you must drill your own holes. If you don’t have the tools for this, just buy the cheap one. You don’t need this quality. Also it is much sturdier, made of metal, not plastic.

Looks like it will last a long time. Well worth the slight extra cost.

I have purchased 3 of these now for my shop. I love these. The wings at both ends allow you to easily screw them to work benches, table tops etc. I have never had good luck with fastening other strips that have the slots on the back side.

They never seem to be really sturdy. These solve that problem. Note that both wing ends have dimpled areas that you have to drill out but very easy to do.

This is a great item to have, especially for multiple computer items. With this device, using just one electrical outlet, I can plug in my router, computer, printer, lamp, and chargers! There was just one lightning storm since purchasing it, so I don’t know if they were protected, but certainly nothing happened to them! Too, the bright white color makes it easy to find.

Solid construction. Metal, not cheesy plastic. Outlets perpendicular to strip allows more power supplies per strip. Mounts on back only allow you to mount wire side down only. Mounts lock on screws, so you only get one chance to hang it.

I misplaced a couple of power strips in a recent office move and picked these up while in the store. They’re sturdy and fit my needs perfectly. I initially wanted ones that had the adjustable plugs to accommodate the bigger square plugs.

But, my needs were simply so I was glad to get a good product that is less expensive.

I don’t like these. I bought them because they’re cheaper and they’re general electric which usually makes good things. I don’t like that the button doesn’t light up so I don’t know if it’s on or off but I didn’t check to see if the switch lit up or not before I bought them and there’s not enough space in between the outlets.

these are not reasons not to buy them they do what they’re supposed to do. they’re no frills plain outlet strips they don’t shut off on their own unexpectedly so if you’re looking for just cheap no nonsense outlet strips these are good.

Bought this because I needed more outlets for various objects on a nightstand. It doesn’t have a surge protector, but I didn’t really need one for the stuff I was plugging into it. It has six openings, and all worked fine.

Cord is only two feet, but I just needed something to set on the floor below the regular wall outlet. It came with two separate power strips, though I only needed one for now. That said, the price was definitely right, as it was around 12 dollars for two.

This is a 12 space outlet strip. It is built of metal, looks nice, functions very well. The outlets are spaced nicely. I can operate 6 NiMh chargers on it at one time. Each charger does encroach on a plug space.

I could still plug in a cord next to them, just not another charger. I think that the majority of transformer plugs that I use will occupy a single space on this strip without overlapping onto a neighboring transformer.

I have already advised other people to buy this. The price is very good. The unit feels well-made and sturdy. It’s three feet long. Great for a work bench or hobby table. I may get another one.

I have a 200 yr. old house. The receptacles are spaced randomly. We needed to clean up the cords for the TV. This strip is perfect. It is so much better, with the this sleek power strip! Thank you for providing such a practical and good-looking product.

I would definitely recommend this product.

Packaging, mounting method, and 6′ power cord are 1st rate. The finish on the anodized aluminum is very nice. Lighted power switch / breaker is nice. My only complaint, and it’s a fairly big one, is that ungrounded plugs have a relatively loose fit in the receptacles and don’t seem to make contact with the plug until the final 1/3 to 1/4 of travel towards insertion.

We’ll see how this holds up over time. If not for this one flaw I’ve give it 5 stars all around!.

I only bought this a few weeks ago and really haven’t had much opportunity to use it yet. We recently erected a gazebo on our deck and wanted to be able to plug in several things at once. Since there’s only one outlet located on that side of the house, we could only plug in 2 things at a time.

This outdoor power bar allows us to plug in up to 6 things at a time from one outlet. Therefore, we can have lights, heater, portable cooking appliances and bug zappers all plugged in at one time. So far, I have been using it to plug in my portable turkey roaster oven to cook various meals in outdoors.

It allows me to still cook a larger meal in an outdoor oven, and not heat up the kitchen or whole house without need of lighting the barbecue. It is also equipped with an on/off switch so doesn’t need to be always unplugged when not in use.

I expect to get lots of use out of this outlet over the summer months and well into the fall.

Great product. I have two others; one used for garage tools on my workbench and one used for desktop PC and related items hookup. This one will be used for several medical devices needed in the home.

Yellow jacket brand is my go-to for cords, lights, and protection. I like this is a metal unit to withstand the rough garage use environment.
