20 Best Wormer For Dogs (2022 Updated)

There’s another place listed here that sells this, same price, but it was my experience it was due to expire in three months. The expiration date on this product is 07/24. The pyrantel is the only thing i have ever used that actually did the job.

I have a few dogs and puppies and I found the 2 to 4 ounce bottles of liquid wormer that ‘s sold in the pet store or the vet are way too expensive for the small amount. and it’s about almost the same price for the 16 oz Durvet liquid wormer.

So That’s why I chose Durvet. “You get a bigger bang for the buck” and “more bounce to the ounce”.

Used on dog and 4 week old puppies after I noticed worms in their stool. Most hated the taste. They had diarrhea and vomiting I believe caused by the worms because they passed a lot. They are now perky and are much happier.

Per instructions I will repeat again in two weeks.

My 7 week old tri color bully has vomited in his third day at our house, I googled and saw it said it’s normal for pups to do this sometimes, no worries. Two days later early morning(6:50am EST) he vomited then about 10 minutes later he pooped out about 8 long worms, found they were Roundworms.

I immediately went to Meijer and grabbed two boxes of this 7 Way De-Wormer for Small Dogs and gave him a tablet which he happily chomped down. He passed loads of dead worms in each stool that day(like twice).

The next morning his belly wasn’t bloated anymore but he wouldn’t eat much but drank water. By the evening he was felling great and back running through the house, he passed about 3-4 live worms in 2 of his 3 stools that day, the third stool had no worms! On the third day there were no more worms in his stool but I gave him the other tablet because I saw a very good vet recommend one deworming tablet day one, a second on day three then again in two weeks.

It’s day 6 and he’s been worm free for going on 3 days! I went and stocked up on puppy and Dog dewormers today because all the stores are sold out and Meijer had just set out a bunch.

I got this when I noticed what appeared to be a long worm in my baby boys poop possibly roundworm. I got this immediately to avoid hundreds in vet bills. Its true that it tastes good because my dog lapped it up with no hesitation.

I only needed one box with the 2 chewables because my dog is only about 65 lbs. Within a day or two, my dog noticeably changed: He was in a better mood, he was running around, he was eating, and I didnt notice any worms in his poop.

Fortunately, my dog did not have a negative reaction to these chewables. A few days later, he had an emergency and pooped on the neighbors lawn. I was told there were spaghetti-like strings in the poop.

I dont know if this means my dog was eliminating the worms he had or if he had developed new ones, so I ordered a second box and administered the chewables to my dog. Its been about a week, and there has been no sign of any worms in my dogs poop, and my dog still is still happy and healthy.

So I originally ordered panacur from Chewy. I have used the product many times before as I worked as a kennel manager and took care of employers breeding dogs. I’ve known many other well known breeders to use the exact one I ordered.

However Chewy didn’t agree so I cancelled the order. I needed to rush and get a dewroemer because well the longer I wait the more the round worm is just going to be rent free in my dogs body and that’s a no no for me.

Sooo 6am this morning I drove out to Walmart to only see this brand available even tho their website showed panacur. I was very hesitant about it but said I jave no choice. I stood there reading over and over looking on line how to administrator these tablets.

It did. not have any instructions on how far apart you should give the pill. All it states is give one and see tour vet. That’s stupid! This is why I wanted Panacur. It’s basic knowledge and actually has info on how many times to give and the amount.

I would not recommend it.

I had to purchase this and the other size from the same brand as my dog is 25lbs. I had already paid 2 vet bills for worm medication that did not clear. She was still scooting. I used as directed and it took, maybe about 2 weeks, before she stopped scooting entirely.

No more worms. The only thing about this is the taste. I mixed in her food and obviously she could smell it. Don’t believe “dogs will eat anything” – as they will not. After coaching throughout mealtime, she ate it.

I always use this for the dogs I adopt from the animal shelter, just to make sure they are de-wormed, and to preemptively kill any Giardia spores before I take them to the vet for their first exam and stool test.

Typically the vet prescribes Metronidazole anyway, but the vet says they have found that a combination of fembendazole and metronidazole is most effective against Giardia spores. I find it easiest to sprinkle the powder on tuna, and give it to the dog that way.

No dog I know has ever refused tuna! It always gets gobbled right up, along with the fembendazole powder.

during the late fall to the end of winter I give these to my dogs to prevent worms. Then early spring I switch over to Heartguard. You get three packs. I use two packs per dog per month. Each pack 40 pounds.

Total 80 pound dog. Sprinkle in with a quarter cup of warm broth, stir well. pour over their dry food and blend in. They won’t notice and eat their food. Sneaky but, it works. Saves me tons of money.

I have two large dogs and Heart-guard can be very expensive every month so I subsitute during the cool to cold months. You save and your dogs stay healthy from worms. Plus Most brand name worm meds don’t prevent your dog from getting whipping worms.

After trying another brand unsuccessfully I tried this one which I should have gone with first to begin with. My Husky/Shepard is worm free. I waited a day after his last treatment to make sure but honestly, I didn’t see anymore worms even after just the first treatment.

Some people have complained about the package being misleading but it says right on the front of the box that each packet treats a 40 lb dog. Soooo, if you’ve got a big dog like I do you’re going to need to buy 2 boxes.

I also gave him extra wet food as the packets contain more than you expect. Be sure to mix it in really well so all the powder is mixed up properly. I also didn’t have any trouble getting him to eat his food with it mixed in.

Tip for picky dogs. put the powder in vitamin caps, wrap in cheese slices, no prob. Just picked up 3 boxes (locally, needed ASAP), one of each size for 3 dogs. Pug pup got spayed yesterday and they said they found worms.

Might as well get them all. Anyhow, Mini Aussie is an extremely picky eater and I thought there would be an issue. Then I remembered I had empty capsules. Took 6 for the medium size pack. Wrapped each cap in a wad of a cheese slice, she ate ’em just fine, then her dinner.

For the Pug and standard Aussie, fairly wet canned food (and a little cheese), no issues on eating it.

I purchased this to treat one of our 3 indoor/outdoor cats that was bloated and vomiting roundworms. But when one of your clan has worms, you need to treat them all – which for me includes another 31 farm cats and a lab retriever.

Obviously, this can get costly for periodic worming! The canine panacur is the same as the feline product. And since I am very frugal, my vet recommended using whichever is cheaper. Directions say to administer it once a day for three days.

The easiest for me is to mix it in their canned food which they all get once a day. A few of the cats would turn up their noses at first but would eventually eat it when they saw that was all they were getting.

Most didn’t know the difference (along with our dog who will eat anything). Definitely less expensive than purchasing through the vet and always less per dose compared to other brands. It is very effective and seems to start working immediately.

Make sure you figure out the dose you need before purchasing. you might need to divide up the dry contents of a packet. There are different sizes of boxes/packets available. In this case, each packet is 4 grams and each gram treats 10 lbs of body weight.

The easiest way for me to do this is to dissolve it in a measured amount of liquid and use a syringe to measure what you need. For example, if you have two (approximately) 5 lb kittens, each kitten would need a dose of 1/2 gram.

You can dissolve the 4 gram packet in 4 ml of liquid and use a syringe to measure up 1/2 ml each. In this case you will have one gram (or 1 ml) left over after 3 days so you might want to look for a different packaged dose so you aren’t wasting $.

Another example: if you have a 12 – 15 lb dog, dissolve one packet in 3 ml of liquid and draw up 1 ml each day for 3 days. Or if you have a 40 lb dog, just mix one packet into their food for 3 days. If it’s confusing just call your vet and ask how to measure it.

But try to figure this out before purchasing so you have enough for the life cycle of most worms – 3 days!.

I got this along with metronidazole tablets to treat my dog for Giardia. She tolerated the treatment well and ate all the food it was mixed with. A few days after the treatment was completed, she got bad diarrhea.

Idk whether this means she still has Giardia or something else caused it. I will have her tested for Giardia again soon.

Stray cats arrived suffering from Giardia infestation. Symptoms are high body temperature (you’ll notice the cat on your lap seems much, much warmer than usual) their eyes have a sleepy, squinty look- the third eyelid partially visible is a red flag for Giardia, another big telltale symptom and the clincher is the horrible odoriferous diarrhea and stool.

The odor is very offensive. The cats coat will feel greasy, and have a glossy appearance to it. They will be much sleepier than usual, and upon waking have a groggy, drunken walk, sometimes falling if they’re moved suddenly upon waking.

This Panacur CURES the Giardia. WEIGH your cats, follow instructions to a T, do not over or under medicate. Over-medicating them will make them ill. Change litter, disinfect boxes, wash/disinfect all bedding, toys, anywhere or thing the cats touch- Giardia is “sticky”.

So far not sure how to rate yet just finished 3rd dose. My puppy did get energy right back. First couple doses he didn’t poop anymore worms by 3rd day he pooped more worms. He ate it just fine. I just mixed it with some wet puppy food that you get in little containers.

He did stop hacking after first dose, and coughing up worms. I am hoping it’s working. We’ll see. I will see what happens thru the week after finished dose. I’ll be back with exactly how well it worked.

ANYTHING that can cure or prevent the “C” word is worth investigating and trying. LOOK UP Fenbendazole!! (hope I spelled that right) RIGHT NOW and read the testimonies!!

After doing research for the best de-wormer for small dogs and puppies, I purchased this for my 6 lb puppy. I had already tried to de-worm her with another product which did not kill all the worms. I simply put it in her food and she ate it all up.

Within a few hours this product was working like a charm. There were no bad side effects, and just 1 day after the last treatment the worms were all gone. Very pleased with this purchase, and the price was great.

I have been using this product for over a year. I use this dog wormer because it combines the 2 drugs that I have always used to worm my dogs for the range of worms that are found in my area. It saves me time since I only have to administer one pill and it is easy since it is chewable.

This works very well, the price was a bonus! I checked other online stores and the other two big name pet stores, but the cost was way too much. My dogs have no problem taking these and both are worm free.

This is more of a broad spectrum de-wormer that takes care of four (4) different kinds of parasitical worms. Much better than the types that only treat for one or two types.

I had to order this online from Tractor Supply because my car broke down so I could not drive to the vet to get my dogs prescribed dewormer. The area I live in is a hot spot for stray cats and dogs roaming off leach.

Hence, fecal matter left in the yard constantly! I was bit worried about administering this to my Alaskan husky who is epileptic, however, he did very well with this after administering it in a tablet form.

To date he has not had any seizures and I am very happy about that. I started administering 100% food grade diatomaceous earth (DE) to my dogs before giving this dewormer so they started to feel a bit better after about a week.

However, the set back with administering DE is getting your pets to eat all their food with the recommended dosage for it be effective in their digestive tract to kill all the worms. After I gave this to my husky and jack russell I noticed an immediate difference in their energy levels and the stomach bloating, which was a clear indication they had/have worms.

I will continue to use this product twice a year as a preventative for my dogs. It appears to work with no side effects and is reasonable in price. I ordered online and received it in about 4 days with the 2 day shipping.

I began purchasing Sentry 7 Way De-Wormer close to a year ago when I had my first puppy. I had always adopted adult dogs, so I wasn’t aware that puppies are prone to worms or the importance of regular de-worming.

On a weekend, my little pup seemed off, like she wasn’t feeling well. She was squirmy, couldn’t get comfortable and just seemed like maybe her stomach was upset. Soon afterward, she began having diarrhea and I could see worms.

I was terrified, but thanks to Tractor Supply, they had us covered. This product was reputable and the only 7 way oral pill over the counter, so I went with it. I gave my pup one dose that evening and within 24 hours, she was back to her sweet, perky self, had no more stomach upset and visible parasites in her stool were dead.

Within 48 hours, there were no more visible parasites in her stool at all. Sentry De-Wormer works and this is what we’ve continued to use. Our girl is a year old now and I most recently purchased a pack of this de-wormer because I saw her scoot on the grass.

I hadn’t seen any parasites, but in case there was anything I missed or microscopic, we gave her a dose. She hasn’t been seen scooting since. My girl is a picky eater, but I can easily wrap this up in a piece of cheese and she gobbles it right up.

I highly recommend this product. We’ve had zero side effects from it (even when she was a tiny pup, it seemed gentle) and it’s efficacy has been 100% every time. We’ve also treated our 15-year-old mini schnauzer every time we’ve treated our young dog as a preventative, and he has had no side effects either.

I have gotten this item a few times with no problems. My dogs ate them like treats. But this time my dogs just would not eat it. Tried wrapping in a pill pocket, didn’t work. Mixed(crushed) with tuna fish, would not eat.

I think they changed the taste/smell. The other ones I had gotten was when Bayer made them. Elanco took over Bayer, and I wish I had an older box to compare ingredients.

Do not waste your money on this unless your dog is HIGHLY food driven. I purchased the largest dose for my GSD and he refuses to eat it. First I coated it with peanut butter (what I normally do with his pills).

He spat out the 1st pill and wouldn’t even lick the peanut butter off of it, so I wrapped it in cheese. Again he turned his nose up at it and wouldn’t even smell it. I then took off the cheese, scraped off the peanut butter, crushed both pills and mixed in a small amount of the crushed pills with a scoop of peanut butter.

He sniffed the mixture and refused it again. Now, let me add that this is a 100lb male German shepherd and he hasn’t eaten since yesterday evening. I offered him a piece of kibble and he inhaled it which tells me he is very hungry and (should) be happy to accept peanut butter (his favorite treat).

I’m getting frustrated at this point. This dewormer is not cheap and he needs to ingest this medicine, so I pull out my ninja food processor and start working on a solution. I put the enierty of both crushed pills (and the spoonful of peanut butter with some of the pill) in the ninja and add another one of his favorite foods (apples) with a few table spoons of water.

This boy would live off apples and peanut butter if I let him, so I’m thinking SURLY the puréed apple will mask the crushed pills and he will find it (somewhat) palatable. I even took it a step further after pulverizing the mixture to pure liquid and poured it over half a scoop of his food (Victor High Pro+).

He won’t even come near the bowl. I am so frustrated with this dewormer! I will NEVER buy this again! My dog has had to have several forms of medicine in his life and I always choose pill form because I know he’d eat anything with a smear of peanut butter on it.

Pill form medication gives me the peace of mind of knowing that he’s ingested the full dose, which is 100% not the case here. I’ve coaxed him into eating (maybe) 1/4th of ONE pill out of two! If I could give this dewormer negative stars, I would.

I can’t even say if it is effective or not because it is so severely unpalatable that I can’t even administer half a dose!!.

Since my puppy seems to find that the excrement of other animals has a great crunch to her, this is her second treatment for worms, and first one by me. She still had loose stools the first night I administered the cute dog bone shaped pills to her, but, they were not as frequent.

In addition to that, she was back to normal within 24 hours. When I first gave her the pill, she spit it out because it was new, and she is a diva, but then she smelled it and realized it tasted great! I was able to feed her 1.

5 pills with no issue at all. Bonus: They are cute little dog bone shapes! I guess since they are cute, you might want to keep them out of the reach of your human babies, since they probably/hopefully don’t need to be treated for worms.

Long story short, I will definitely be purchasing again, should the need arise, although, I hope it does not.

If I could give this product ZERO stars that’s exactly what it would get! I wormed my puppy 3 seperate times with this product and it did absolutely NOTHING! I followed the instructions on dispensing and administering to a T.

After 3 seperate treatments I was still seeing worms. Took my puppy to the vet and a stool sample and found out it wasnt killing them at all! Wormed him with REAL medicine from the vet and some very long worms came out.

Please dont waste your money, this product is down right worthless!.

I got a puppy from someone online, We quickly grew attacked to him and a few days in I work up to find him throwing up the LONGEST worms I’ve seen in my life. We quickly rushed to Walmart and picked this product up to try and the recomeneded three treatments later I can confirm I’ve seen dead worms in his poop It gave him some really bad gas and diarrhea but I’ve noticed a HUGE difference in growth.

He seemed so malnourished before after finding out that at 9 weeks he should be weighing in at 10 lbs almost and he was only 6lbs at 10 weeks. Cheap treatment and it worked for King.

Very inexpensive, and works tremendously. I got a puppy 5 months old, no shots or anything. 6 days with us and she threw up a round worm about 3 inches long. Used this product, I recommend mixing medicine with wet dog food.

Mixes well, and we all know dogs love wet dog food so they will eat it all and lick the down as well. Tonight is 3rd dose and she has been passing the worms through her stool this morning like crazy (which is a good thing just be prepared for excess trips to bathroom for dog).

So be patient with sick puppy.

It says not to use til 12 weeks on the box, however if your pup is over 6 lbs then I think its okay to use. My little girl is a pit and catahoula mix and shes only about 7-8 weeks old and she handled the dewormer very well.

She passed a HUGE tapeworm 🤢 we decided to deworm her due to tape worm segments being passed every so often which is absolutely gross. It took a little over 24 hours for her to pass everything. This is the single most effective and affordable dewormer for dogs.

I will recommend this dewormer to everyone and use it for any puppies that I have in the future. Liquid dewormer from the feed store has NOTHING on this stuff and my puppy wanted to eat more of the tablet so I guess it was good.

Seriously, get this for your pet you will not regret it.

I open the dog dewormer and it was a quarter empty with the dog warmer medicine was all around the Bottle on the outside like it was dumped or someone was using it. Walmart stop putting used stuff back on the shelves seriously.

I’ve caught you guys doing that like 20 times already. You should not have to pay full price for something that’s been used and returned. They are now you got your one star just so I could post this.

It is safe to give your fur baby as early as 2 weeks old and we have not had an issue with worms or parasites with our adult dogs or our puppies that were 2 months old last week. Plus the pups don’t mind the taste so there is not a battle to actually get them to take it.

I just put it on the food of the adults and it is eaten with no hesitation and I give it to the younger ones by a dropper that they seem to enjoy. The younger ones do cough a little bit at the end but still take it eagerly.

I have yet to encounter a wormer that takes out roundworms better than Pyrantel pamoate. Since roundworms are probably the most common worm that infects cats and dogs and contribute to weight loss, I find that very useful.

I also like that the flavor is very mild and readily taken in canned food. Do note that when they say this is for dogs, it is because it is the more dilute form. Dogs need less Pyrantel per pound than cats.

If you are looking for Pyrantel for cats, make sure to get the more concentrated version, or else you are looking at some really big doses.

I gave my dog the product and she was really sick. Upon reading the instructions we realised that it was a side affect. Brilliant we thought, getting rid of the worms. The sickness stopped and her health improved.

A month and a half later (product was said to last three months), my poor dog has worms again. She had the correct dosage following the instructions carefully so we didn’t make her ill. I am highly unimpressed with this product and am extremely disappointed, I used to use a lot of this brand of stuff for my dog.

I bought this based on reviews I’d read, and it’s a 3 in 1 wormer. This is reasonably priced, which is important. I’ve not seen any worms, as treat my dog on a regular basis. My dog wasn’t sick, as has happened with expensive wormers bought at the vets, hence this must suit him, and he retains the medication rather than pukking it.

I will buy this again.
