20 Best Wormer For Horses (2022 Updated)

I have my horses on a equine paste rotation. I place my yearly order knowing that all expiration dates will be far enough out that all the products will be current. Santa Cruz recommends that the Safe-Guard Paste be part of the rotation.

I have used this paste in my rotation ever since I owned horses and have always been happy with the product. When I order on line from Santa Cruz my items always arrived fast and correct. Keep up the great work!.

I am very satisfied with Safe Guard’s brand of fenbenzadole. It can kill worms in the larvae stages, as well as Pinworms, Roundworms, Stomach Hair Worms, and Large-mouthed Stomach Worms. I always use a rotational deworming schedule and this product works on my yearlings up to my 30 year old horse.

Zimecterin wormer is safe and effective for our horses. Santa Cruz Animal Health provides great products at the best price around!

I love this products! I’ve used it for years. I just recently notice that I’ve seen in some places it’s not for mini’s! I was upset but ordered it anyway. I’ve used it on my mini’s for years and have had no problems.

I did see on the package it said that you have to be careful not to overdose, so I was relieved. I’ve always been careful on dosages. What I like with the gel is that it desolves quickly so they get it in their system quick.

They tend to not be able to spit it out because it desilves before swallowing. If they do spit some out, it’s isually small. Then you can put it between their lip and gums and it desolves before they can spit it out.

The only thing I would add is making it taste better so they don’t spit at all.

Does the job. Apparently it tastes quite gross, so maybe have some treats ready to help them over that. Our farm has used Quest many times and we’ve never had any issues with worms.

Please do not use this dewormer on horses that have not been treated for a long time! I have used this product (carefully!) for over 10 years. Other reviewers are spot-on about deworming 1 month before with Ivermectin.

I use it for horses that show signs of worms even though they have been on a program or new horses after using the Ivermectin 1 month before first! The first time I used it years ago on a horse with unknown deworming history, she had a major allergic reaction to the worm die-off and had to have the vet out to save her.

Also this product has very little leeway for mis-dosing so weigh your horse and use the correct amount. I use it in the morning when I’m going to be home just in case. Very effective – don’t be afraid to use it on horses already on a deworming program.

They don’t like the taste at all but it melts quickly.

My horse does not take his de-wormer easy. The apple flavor is the only one he will accept. I’ve not been able to find it on the usual horse supply sites or stores. Thank goodness For Chewy!

I appreciate that they offer the case of cat food in a pate style as it last longer than shreds. My cat likes it better too. I haven’t wormed the horses yet but have bought this brand every spring. Does the job at the right price.

I love that Chewy is now carrying some horse products and hope that they expand these product lines. My horses hate taking wormer but the Farnam Ivercare paste is a quality product and they seem to tolerate the taste of the apple flavor of this wormer better than some others.

I certainly recommend it for the ivermectin based rotation in the worming schedule. It’s good stuff.

We own 3 horses currently and worm twice yearly ,based on fecal testing in spring plus a precautionary dose in fall. Appreciate that suppliers and manufacturers place warning online against people taking ivermectin.

Research tells it is a neurotoxin in high doses, it is for WORMS in animals. Product was in stock and delivered promptly with order tracking. Very happy with Chewy service and products!.

I have used Zimecterin Gold for years for my horses. This month my horse experienced a very painful reaction to it. It immediately caused mouth irritation, and the horse was obviously great stress. As the situation progressed, a swelling the size of a navel orange appeared on his muzzle.

Orange dots then appeared on the swollen area. The box notes that there have been rare reports of this reaction. My sister, who is a professional equine trainer has also seen this reaction. Please read the warning in “mice type” on the side of the box, and be aware of the risk.

1st time using the multi dose. Great value, easy to use. We were worming several draft horses and this was a much more economical way to go and nice to have half the tubes to fiddle with was great. I definitely recommend this to other people with multiple horses.

This multi-dose makes my life much easier. I wish I would have purchased previously. Will buy this from now on.

I might try this product again? I guess I haven’t seen the effects yet, but I’m assuming it’s working. Downside: and I’m not sure if it was due to the heat or what, but the product was very runny, so we had to hold the horses heads up so it didn’t run out of their mouths.

This was not convienent as we were worming 20 head. I might be willing to try a few tubes again to see if it is the product itself that’s runny or just the heat of the day. However, I do not hold this one time product issue against Horse.

Paste itself was okay but the dohickey that you turn to select the weight totally failed and slid to the end so I overdosed a horse. I usually use the red package with the bigger handles and couldn’t find any anywhere so I got these.

They were cheaply made and not at all like the red ones. Won’t get these anywhere again.

Horses weren’t particularly happy, but took their medicine like troopers. Only wish my hands were big enough to be able to reach the plunger in one hand. As is, I stick the squirting end in the corner of their mouths, wait for them to unclench, then use my shoulder to push the plunger in.

Hopefully, it all winds up in the horse’s mouth instead of all over the front of my T-shirt.

We purchased Zimectrin Gold from Valley Vet Supply last week for our wormer rotation. On the tube, it says there have been rare reports of swelling of the mouth, lips, and tongue. That is a complete fabrication.

ALL twenty-three horses that were wormed developed swelling of the mouth and tongue, discoloration, and discomfort. Many were treated with bute to bring down the swelling.

I really like this DuraMectin because when I would use other brands of paste, it seems to make more of a mess and my horses are more inclined to spit it out. This stuff melts in their mouth, no mess, and they seem to be ok with it.

Love it. I can’t find it anywhere because people are buying this up like crazy. We horse-people still need to buy it and being I rotate my deworming chemicals every other month, I needed it on hand for when I use ivermectin.

Otherwise I risk not having it when I need it since it’s always out of stock. Not impressed that KV Supply jacks up the price double of what it sells everywhere else, but I’m guessing it’s because they can due to the demand.

I did use a coupon code and was able to use up my KV Bucks on this so the total was what I’d pay for normally at my fleet store or other online retailers.

Can’t go wrong with Exodus and works beautifully. My mare is a stinker about deworming in general so she apposes any paste in her mouth but tough (lol). I like the brand and it does its job well. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a trustworthy brand of pyrantel paste.

Bought this for my three very picky horses and was surprised how easy it was to give. The horses did not seem to mind taking it either which was a first! Very satisfied with this product.

I normally like this product but when it arrived it was the paste instead of the gel. When ordering, it did state that either might arrive and that it would depend on what the company had on hand. I have to say I was disappointed to receive all of the product as paste instead of gel this time.

I find the gel easier to use. This is not the fault of Valley Vet. They shipped my order quickly and without any problem. The Valley Vet company supplies this product at a great price—better than other places I have checked.

Good value and a very safe wormer that eradicates every worm exposure around my area except heart-worm. My vet states that I can start to administer Panacur to puppies at 3 weeks of age and the dam once a month thru gestation and along with the pups post whelp.

I give Panacur monthly to all my dogs and once a year I administer Panacur 3 days in a row to to insure that all worms, eggs, etc, are eradicated. My dogs are strong and never get sick. NO WORMS = Health Dogs.

It came promptly and I have 6 dogs that I had to worm and a few litters coming that will have to be wormed. I mix with 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt and the adults lap it right up and I dose the puppies with a syringe.

I’ve used feed through dewormer, (in conjunction with the standard paste dewormer rotation), for years but it’s been getting harder to find locally and more and more expensive. Now I can get it from Chewy for a good price with free delivery right to my door!.

I purchased three tubes of Ivermectin which I give to Goats and Rabbits on my farm. I had bought it before from another Supplier but went ahead and purchased it from this one even though I was quite happy with the last one.

I was amazed to see how little of the product came out of the syringes and there seemed to be a lot of air vs actual product coming out of the syringe. The Rabbits need only a small amount of this but I used almost all of the three syringes for the goats and rabbits is one treatment.

I purchased the Quest Plus de-wormer to administer to my horses for this time of year, at the recommendation of my vet because it addresses any tapeworm issues. This is the first time I have given my horses this particular de-wormer.

Both are easy to worm, and this product is a gel and was easy to get into them. One horse ate his feed right afterwards without issue, the other one who usually will eat anything in sight, objected to the taste of the wormer and wouldn’t eat for a half an hour or so.

After that, he was fine. I rated this product only for stars because of his objection to the taste. Other that that, both horses showed no adverse affects. The only other issue I had was difficulty removing the cap from the dispenser.

Quest plus has 2 classes of wormers. Moxidectin which controls all the common parasites and even encysted strongyles which are notoriously hard to kill due to their burrowing nature and Praziquantel which treats tapeworms.

Studies show its best to use this one during the winter for best parasite control. Doesn’t taste great but the results on a fecal egg count don’t lie. It works very well. I also love that one tube treats up to 1500 lbs.

Having a bigger horse forced me to buy 2 tubes of other products for his extra weight and that was such a pain. Vet recommend and a staple for our horses.

This was recommended by our vet, so when it was on sale we got enough to do all the horses on the farm. The store didn’t have enough in stock, but the manager was very helpful in ordering the rest online and having it delivered right to our place.

The horses did not care for the taste and it was harder to get them to take it than some of the other dewormers, but it is supposed to be effective against tape worms, so we tried it. Too soon to tell if it works any better.
