20 Best Wound Closure Strips (2022 Updated)

We use Steri-Strips often and in general think they’re terrific. They’re best used for narrow cuts. My blind husband walks into walls and splits his forehead open every couple of months. I clean him up with hydrogen peroxide and apply however many 1/4″ Steri-Strips are appropriate.

They stay on for many days even though he washes his hair every day. I tend to get cuts on my fingers from the dry weather. Although I’d love to use Steri-Strips on them, the Steri-Strips peel off within a day or less because I wash my hands quite often.

Sometimes I can get them to stay on longer if I cover them with a BandAid which holds the ends of the Steri-Strip to my finger while the Steri-Strip is actually holding the cut closed. Overall, I highly recommend Steri-Strips for anywhere on the body except fingers.

I had a minor surgery three weeks ago to release my trigger. It required around 3/4 of an inch incision on my palm. The doctor closed the incision with 2 stitches and were removed after two weeks. However, the day after the stitches were removed, the incision separated resulting to a gap.

Instead of going back to the doctor, my niece (who’s also a physician) recommended Steri-Strip Skin Closure to close the incision without the need for re-stitching. After a week of using it, I saw that the incision is now closed.

However, I decided to use the strip for another week to make sure that it won’t open again. Now, because of the Steri-Strip, the scar on my palm is not very visible! Thanks!.

I recently had surgical incision stitches removed (16) and the dermatologist applied 12 strips (1/4″ x 1″) after first applying an adhesive solution around edges. I was told they would fall off after 2 weeks.

Didn’t make it home before most had come loose. I purchased a 30 piece package of 1/4″ x 4″ strips. I first tried replacing them with 1″ pieces, then 2″ pieces and now am using the full 4″ piece. They continue to come loose.

The package retail price tag has a date of 070519. The lot/expiry date on the envelope is 2024-01BC. I will try “Additional closures. 1/2 inch from. ends and parallel to the wound. ” as detailed in step 6.

These steri strips are exactly like what my doctor uses. I was very pleased with this product.

I have several cuts on my face. As you might imagine, having wounds on your face is something that could be embarrassing. With this 3M skin closures however, I could deceive people around me. They couldn’t see it from far.

Only when they come really close to me, they could see that I was injured. Ins’t it great?.

3M Steri-Strips are by most accounts the gold standard for wound closure strips. The 1/4″ width of these particular strips leaves room for closing narrower wounds and saves having to try to cut straight strips out of much wider – up to 1″ – strips.

These adhere well, are handy in size, and the tray pack makes storage and access simpler. The convenient packet size also makes them handy for including in field kits.

The product came in due time but had a single gash through the back. Given it is a medical product, I was a bit put off. Came with a strange crumpled up alcohol prep pad and sanitizer gel.

Steristrips are a must have for an elderly person who gets frequent minor skin tears. They stay “stuck” long enough for the wound to heal.

Great pack of strips, always arrive undamaged and sterile. Strips hold well and come with instructions for newbies that work great

I have not use this product yet but I use something similar in the past. This packaging is outstanding and packs well.

they don’t stay put on the skin as they should. I think a bit a bit high for what you get, can’t clean steri strips, They can’t be cleaned they are left on until comes off in the shower. steri-strips stayed on 1 day, I have been an RN for 48 years these are some of the worse I have ever used.

They worked perfectly, helped heal my wound a lot faster than using regular bandaids or butterfly Strips

Steristrips are worth the extra money. I like the flesh colored ones the best. Patients love them too

They came fast are exactly what I was looking for.

It does not stick well, comes of very quickly. It is not stretchy enough to work on the hand. The strips from the hospital were way better and more stretchy. Expensive for what it is. A similar roll of it from the chemist was cheaper, though not much better.

While these work great, do NOT use the spray glue with it because that can cause a severe allergic reaction. I had used them numerous times after surgery and then the doc sent me home with the spray glue and I got a horrible reaction.

Also, never pull the strips off, let them fall off themselves.

Keep these in my bag recently fixed a axe wound to the shin. Held the wouno together well and stayed although there was some blood underneath when applied. Fairly large cut but healed well with little scaring.

Luckily I have needed to use them yet! But they appear to be in perfect condition

Great for wounds. Excellent for those with thin skin.

Surgeon asked me to use these following foot surgery. Have tried many times but they dont stick fast and release fairly quickly. Have cleaned skin with alcohol so they should adhere. The ones from his office held and they were same as these, so not sure what the issue is but they just aren’t very sticky.

They wont even stick to one another.

I ordered a box of Steri-strips that contained 50 envelops with 3 strips per envelop, and I was delivered a box with only 20 envelops of 3 strips per envelop. So less than half of what I paid for. I tried to email the customer service explaining the mistake and after more than a month I still haven’t heard back from them.

They are not cheap, so I feel deceived and like you stole my money. Really unacceptable.

These are great as general closures, specially in areas that flex a lot like around the lips or fingers.

They aren’t perfect, as in they might not stick as well as the photos, but I used a few strips to close a slice at the end of my thumb and they worked well. I did wrap my thumb up though – I wasn’t expecting these to work without covering with a bandage of some sort! But under the bandage, they stayed on well and I was able to apply them easily! I could also cut them down to the size that was appropriate for my wound.

I was glad they were easy to remove so I didn’t risk re-opening my cut when I needed to change them!.

These days, emergency rooms and urgent care facilities are overloaded with RSV, COVID, and Flu cases and going in for stitches isn’t always prudent or possible without sitting in a crowded lobby or waiting room for over an hour.

IF YOU ARE ABLE TO CONTROL THE BLEEDING, these steri-strips are a great way to close a wound temporarily so that you can see your regular doctor or visit your local urgent care at a better time. Always follow standard first aid procedures and continue checking for signs of infection.

I got these just a few weeks ago and they are perfect for the glove box in my truck. It is easy to pull out the bandaids when you need them and quickly know when they need to be refilled. Love the box and how easy it is to get into them.

Good bandages, very good adhesive lasts through showers

I like this quality bandages . It won’t fall out easily and give children the great protection . I like this quality .

We haven’t had to use them yet (hopefully never will, but with kiddos, you never know). I bought these because I know Curad is a good brand, and we won’t have adhesive issues.

Handy when you need them most! And they stay on my 12 year old son’s skin, but don’t leave a residue when you remove them!

Due to Myasthenia Gravis, I often have a droopy eyelid. I cut these down to about one inch and use them to tape my eyelid up. These stick better than anything I’ve found, yet do not irritate the skin.

I just have to remove slowly so as to not tear the thin skin. I only wish they came in tan. Even being Caucasian the white is very noticeable.

I bought these to cover an incision over my belly button so that I could wear jeans without the button rubbing on the incision. It was initially glued without sutures but due to the high stress area it was slower to heal.

I cut these down to about 1 1/2 inches long and applied over the incision. I cleaned the area with hydrogen peroxide first then the surrounding area with rubbing alcohol and they’re sticking very well, zero signs of them coming off any time soon.

Not impressed, the strips are bit good quality. Very slim and thin and wear of really easily. Nothing at all like the ones I was given in hospital. Wasted my money on them as they did nothing for me.

These items were purchased for use in our first aid boxes. We have a number of first aiders who would willingly use these items if they were needed.

These Leukostrips are awesome, they have a lot stick to them, so won’t peel of if you get them wet or sweat.
