20 Best Wrap Around Sunglasses (2022 Updated)

I purchased 2 different models of Maui Jim’s at the same price point. I don’t recall the name of the other pair but it had red lava lenses On black frames and had a Manchester United logo on the microfiber cloth.

I appreciated that it was a double jointed hinge on this pair so that it flexes rather than bends the frame when over extending them. My other favorite feature was the nose grips were just a small “grippy” pad on the frame as opposed to a separate unit that can often time wear out after adjusting or give you the wrong fit altogether if you don’t know how to adjust them properly.

Lastly the overall construction of these felt more solid and not delicate at all. If they weren’t so expensive, I would probably purchase the same model in different colors. As far as sizing goes, I wear a 7 3/4 baseball cap so I guess you could say my head is on the larger size and these fit comfortably, without flexing the hinge outward.

These were by far the winner in my book and personally I could see them costing $100 more than the red lensed pair. Not to say that they should cost a 100 more than they are listed for, but the other pair should be $100 less because let’s face it, this is a lot of money for a pair of sunglasses.

For people who don’t want to read my long review here is the point. The makoa are the most comfortable sunglasses I’ve owned. And although everyone’s experience with them will vary I highly recommend they at least try this model.

Now for my experience, I never heard of Maui Jim until working at a sunglass retailer. I’ve owned Ray-ban, Oakley and Police (they’re a European brand I had when I lived there for a few years) all of them metal frames.

Usually I get ones with adjustable nosepads because of my crooked nose and even though these lay mostly on one side of mine they’re still really comfortable. I love the eye coverage, wraparounds usually fog up on me very quickly but that is less of a problem with the makoa.

Probably because they’re a wrap/classic square hybrid which is unique. Got them in the MauiGreen lens and the rose base tint, I love them despite having to squint a little bit when facing towards the sun on really bright days.

Next time I will have to get the grey lenses for greater sunlight protection but I still love the MauiGreen makoa. The only adjustment I had to make to them was bending the temple ends to hook the ears more.

I love my Makoa glasses. The translucent green khaki frames combined with the Maui ht lenses makes for a vibrant match. When the light is dim but the glare is still there, these lenses give me good protection yet also enable my aging (72) eyes 👀 to see clearly.

I purchased my first pair of Maui Jim’s over 30years ago and have worn no other brand since. Can’t beat them. Aloha.

I love fuel cells but replacement lenses are unobtainium. Especially the ones I got this time with the clear lenses. The replacement lenses have becoming harder and harder to find for this particular frame I don’t know why because you can order custom new fuel cells with almost any lens but replacement lenses have become less and less available.

Finding clear replacement lenses for this set is impossible because they’re not listed anywhere! Another reason I like these is because if you do get banged or bumped around the ear pieces just unsnap and can be reassembled after you’ve taken a bump to the head or something like that.

They offer good protection on the size of your eyes as well with the large ear pieces providing a lot of protected area on the sides of the eyes as well as the lenses themselves covering the front of your eyes.

I was looking for a more stylish replacement for the “sporty” Flak sunglasses. I have three pairs of those but wanted a pair of sunglasses that didn’t look like I was heading to the baseball fields. I also wanted glasses that fit comfortably with a ball cap on, with arms that went over the hat, and stayed in place on the bill of my hat when I took them off.

These TwoFace glasses met all of those needs and are very comfortable. With a fat Asian head and no nose bridge, the Asia (low bridge) Fit works extremely well. They don’t even raise up when I smile like other glasses without wire nose pieces.

Had the same pair before these. My head is usually little bigger and these fit just right. I don’t feel any pressure on sides from wearing these. The lens last forever and nice thing is if for some reason you need to change they offer different lenses.

These have been thru alot and had no issues. Been in the beach in fort Lauderdale in the water, and winters in PA. I have dropped them a few times on the ground pretty good and still were fine. My original pair I had 4 years and lenses still were clear.

I had HD Grey lens and they were really nice allowing just the right amount of light in. I had glasses that I would be wearing and while driving you go under a little cloud and they would be so dark it was hard to see.

Definitely sold on this brand just hope they keep them around just in case.

These are not polarized. I received these over 2 weeks ago and am still waiting for company to arrange a return so I can get a refund. They made me call the vendor, who confirmed they are not polarized and even still am waiting for a resolution.

They say hassle free return but it has not been even when it is they’re mistake and the product was not as advertised.

Great fit for a larger head (these are big frames) and the soft frame material make them very comfortable to wear. Great sun glasses for outdoor activities, only knock is that the tint on the lenses is a bit much for use in casual settings.

This is a great pair of sunglasses. I would highly recommend this style for anyone looking for a sleek and trendy look. Many different color options go well with matte black. This is my 2nd pair of Dirty Moe Spys.

My first pair lasted well over 4 years and the only reason I opted to get a new pair was for a change of color scheme. Again, I highly recommend these sunglasses to anyone looking for a nice new pair of sunglasses.

I’ve worn “Coke Bottle” glasses all of my life. Last fall, I had cataract / lens replacement surgery. Now, I’m 20/20 without glasses. Before I would spend $500. 00 on a pair of polarized sunglasses at the Optometrist, so I know what to expect.

I bought a pair of these at Hilton Head, the day before a charter fishing trip. After two charters, and a 16 hour drive home, I am sold.

Not happy with these Huk Challenge sunglasses. Pretty low quality and cheap plus the lenses distort colors. wouldn’t recommend nor purchase again

Absolutely the most comfortable pair of sunglasses I’ve ever owned. Very clear lens with no distortion. They put my old Oakleys to shame.

These glasses are absolutely horrible. I feel like there’s more glare when I put them on. I drive trucks where the visor is too tall for me when trying to cover up from the glare. These glasses do not provide the protection I was looking for.

I purchased the gold sunglasses. The frames were as good as shown. They can be bent, twisted or sat upon and they will pop back into shape. They fit comfortably snug. The lenses overly darkened the natural view based on my personal expectations and preferences.

I have gone back to my old sunglasses which filter the bright light without changing the colors. I gave these sunglasses to my 7 year old grandson, who thinks they are cool-looking!.

Expectations were not real high for these so I wasn’t really disappointed. For a bargain price, these are pretty good sunglasses and good ones for kids who scratch and lose them fairly often. I’ll buy these again for sure, good variety of lens colors which kids like and they actually seem like they’re made pretty decent too.

Stronger frame than I was expecting.

I wear glasses. I have prescription sunglasses, but they are inconvenient when running errands because they are too dark for parking structures and it’s inconvenient to switch between the Rx Shades and my regular Rx glasses when shopping, etc.

It is very handy to just slip the Battle Vision glasses over my own or take them off as needed. They are very efficient at blocking sun and glare without darkening my vision.

I joined my husband, son, and daughter 4-wheeling yesterday and these glasses were so cool! My eyes didn’t hurt due to the bright sun. Love them! Thank you!

These really work great, however, they don’t stay on my head tight as the arms are much too wide for my head, so I have to hold them up. They just be adjustable to fit all head sizes.

I bought extra because I have a habit of letting sunglasses on the seat then sit on them. I’m trying hard not to do that with these sunglasses. I have a pair to wear and an extra pair in each of out cars, a pair in the kitchen for when I got out to get the mail or to work in the yard.

Probably because these sunglasses have brownish lens, I can go indoors and still be able to see. The greenish ones made it too dark. I’m very happy with my purchase.

I have worn wrap around sun glass for years & love them; but not these. These were not only disappointing but dangerous. Instead of the usual same tinted glass in the side panels as the front glasses, there were hazy, opaque glasses.

When driving and needing to look to the side to see if you could turn or change lanes — WOW !! Suddenly you can’t see through them at all – very dangerous!.

I love these sunglasses because I have prescription glasses and they fit just perfectly over my regular glasses. They are so easy to take on and off. I just love them. In fact, I ordered two pairs in case I lose one!! I would highly recommend them to all folks with prescription glasses that need shades of some kind.

And, they make good eye protection for folks that just want to wear sunshades by themselves.

They are too lightweight for my liking. The dustbag given is too small for the sunglasses and does not fit well. Feels a tad on the cheap side. Would not recommend this product.

Wasn’t expecting these to be good due to the fakes sold on ebay these days. These came in the box and are the clearly good quality that do the job, also fit well. Worth paying the few pounds extra I paid more than others on ebay that get bad ratings.

Buy these with confidence worth every penny and very relaxing on the eye. Good buy ordering spare pair.

I am getting cateracts and my eyes do not like bright light. These over glasses have solved the problem cutting out the glare. On advantage over sunglasses is that you do not have to take them off when you go into a building as they do not impair the vision.

My only complaint is that they are not available with lighter coloured frames.

These cut out very little glow, no more than a bit of yellow cellophane would. No sign of them being polarizing in reality. I tested them with a light to see how much reduction there is from an angle and the answer is no different to from straight ahead, i.

e. Not polarizing at all. Waste of money.

Look very cheap. Fit OK. Nothing special. Would not buy agai.

Nice fit and not oversized as most affordable glasses

I took one look at these cheap plastic sunglasses and returned them. They’re beyond awful. The plastic is SO cheap and light weight it’s embarrassing. I had a pair of wraparounds from a different company but broke one of the arms.

I thought I was getting the same quality sunglasses, but I was sadly mistaken.

I LOVE my HD Vision Wraparounds sunglasses. This is my 2nd pair as my first suffered the unfortunate fate of being stepped on by my children; the warranty I purchased for about $3 let me replace them free of charge.

I wear prescription glasses and also have very sensitive eyes. I am thankful that I can wear these over my glasses without damaging them and that they wrap around the sides so very little sunlight gets through.

The only drawback is that this 2nd pair are looser on my head than my first pair was and they tend to slip a little. Despite this, I would recommend these to anyone.

I had an old pair that I bought years ago for yard work and they finally broke apart. I ordered these and my husband liked them so much that I had to order him a pair as well. They work really well to fit over my prescription glasses when I am outside in the bright sunlight.

I would highly recommend them if you need extra eye protection from the sun while outside weather you are doing yard work or out on the lake.

Finally a pair of quality sunglasses that fit. I can never find glasses that fit well, as they all seem to be sized for skinny little noses and end up riding very high as a result. Also, the snug fitting straight side arms translate to zero need for adjusting around the ears no matter how far back your ears are (mine are too far back for most glasses).

Very durable, good polarization, UV filtering too, and all at a fraction of the cost of Maui Jim’s or Ray Bans. After wearing a pair for a week, I bought 4 more in various colors and retired all my old ones.

I now have a pair in every car, plus a couple more for yard work, golfing and cycling.

I sent a recent message by email about receiving my sunglasses from your website. I got the sunglasses 10 days after purchasing online and when I got the package and glasses it smelled like formaldehyde and had to wash the glasses 10 times.

As of today, October 11th the sunglasses still smell awful even washing them numerous times. I even left them outside overnight thinking the smell would go away. As of today and my partner and I agreed that these glasses and smell are totally disgusting.

I wanted a nice, sporty and lightweight pair of sunglasses with polarized lenses. These fit that bill. I’m a large man and when I say these run a little large, I say that because these glasses fit my face and the temples are long enough.

I purchased these because I saw that comment in other reviews and I was not disappointed, They are comfortable and enhance colors a bit, which I also like. The only thing I would suggest is that Columbia either include a hard shell case, or make a low cost one available on the product page.

(There are nice enough that I would like to protect them when not in use. ).

Though I was unfamiliar with EZContacts I placed my order for Ray-Ban State Street sunglasses. The wait time was a bit long but they are arrived safely and are authentic, for an excellent price! I would definitely order from EZC in the future.

I love these shades. I have a oval face shape and I also have sensitive eyes to light. These are great. I love the view I see when I wear them and they are very stylish. I love the protection and everything these offer.

I bought these for my husband, he loves the 49ers. They are dark so will keep uv rays out. It was a bargain deal for the quality.

I am a former ray-ban owner. probably had 15-16 pairs of aviators and wayfarers. preferred the B&L’s to the luxxoticas. now have a half dozen pairs of oakeys (one original gascan pair, other mostly luxotticas).

great shades. bought a pair of REKS sling blades, and now have about a half dozen pairs of other REKS styles, like these seafairers. they have polyurethane frames, so they are more rubbery and don’t break without extreme abuse or a 300-pound human sitting on them.

excellent shades. most shades,even high end shades are made now in communist china. these REKS are from free Taiwan.

I strayed from 40 years of Ray Ban loyalty after a new pup damaged my lawn mowing Ray Bans. I realized I needed an optical quality, like Ray Ban, but in an unbreakable design. Gave REKS a go and I feel like I’ve discovered one of those “best kept secrets” Very good polarized optical quality lenses.

Frame is comfortable and stylish. Best of all. they’re Pup proof. An outstanding value and a pleasant surprise. Even in 2020.

these things rock. and for $9! always wanted some transition lenses. lightweight and comfortable too. I’ve never golfed in my life but I like the style and function anyhow.

get these for someone young so cost of product was right for the type of quality you get. Plastic feel that if you handle too rough would break but as for young child cost gets what you pay for. Would recommend if you do not want to spend a great deal on some glasses.

Comes with a case that you can put on a belt so again for someone young nice little item. Overall I would say good for what I paid.

I purchased a pair of polarised sunglasses from Aldi for 3.99 and there was hardly any difference from what you saw through the lenses, so I would not recommend these, they are not worth the money.

The sunglasses were not flattering on me. All thou they were unisex,as a female the style was too bold, heavy looking, needed a little something?

I bought these a couple months ago and the lenses are supposed to be polarized silver color but they are not silver they’re just regular color and that makes me sad I would have purchased a brighter color very deceiving.

Besides that they are very durable and actually a nice pair of sunglasses. Would buy again in a different color.

i wasn’t sure what to think when i ordered them. i was looking for a darker blue tint than i could find at most online manufacturers. the color was perfect, and pricing was excellent. i even made a mistake on the order and they sent an email to question/correct it for me.

awesome cutomer service. the other thing i noticed is my prescription tends to cause glasses to weigh more (yeah, not great vision), however i can see perfectly with these AND the glasses are lightweight.

Took my time and carefully studied all frame sizes then used the convenient app to actually see how the frames would look on me. I purchased 2 styles and after receiving them, I ordered 2 more. They all look great, and I now have different tints to match & accent what I’m wearing.

I recently purchase the Scream If You Hate Gravity glasses and I have not been impressed. Mainly its due to the lens portion of the glasses. The frames are great and fit well, but after a second pair being sent to me due to the first pair scratching after using a microfiber cloth as it suggests, I then used the provided glasses cloth case that is provided and the same thing happened.

I’m not one to usually write reviews, and I’m not expecting the same quality of lens that big name glasses provide, but the lenses are just only able to be worn as looks and not for cycling purposes.

First picture is the first pair that i used a microfiber cloth on. Second picture is the pair that I used the provided carrying cleaning cloth that was provided. Both are methods that are listed on their website that are to be used to clean them.

I also cleaned them with water and then wiped clean as suggested too. I’ll keep the search up for another pair that may suit my needs elsewhere as I know I will probably get the same result with another pair of their glasses.

I have many pairs of Goodr sunglasses mostly Mach G and OG. Those glasses are amazing and I was super excited that Goodr came out with the Wrap G that would be good for biking. Ordered them the weekend they came out and threw them on as soon as they arrived.

Immediately noticed that they seemed to be applying a ton of pressure to my head from the arms. Wore them a half hour just around outside and had a splitting headache. The arm with on the Wrap Gs are supposed to be wider than on the Mach G and OGs that fit so well! Medium bike helmets fit well so a gigantic noggin isn’t the culprit.

Sadly, my recommendation is for everyone to skip the Wrap G. If your head is small enough for them to be comfortable to wear, the lens are going to be way too big for your face. Maybe the next version will be better.

Still thing Goodr is a great company! They took my return no problem. My review is mainly to help the company make a better product and save customers and Goodr money and time on returns.

I love Goodr glasses. I have several pairs. I wear them casually as well as running. They got great and they’re a great price point. These wraparound glasses, though, need work. It’s a different concept and much harder to get right.

The first issue is build quality. These have the same build as the cheap Amazon/Aliexpress glasses I’ve gotten for $15. The lenses on my first pair kept popping out at the lightest manipulation. I was sent a second pair, no better.

The next issue is the fit. They are supposed to sit tight on the face. They sort of do…just enough to fog up. However, also not tight enough to stop sweat from dripping down underneath the top and into your eyes and onto the lenses.

They need to go back to the drawing board with this design. Glasses like these are harder to design and build correctly. I should’ve known better, back to the Oakleys.
