20 Best Wrestling Knee Pads (2022 Updated)

Bought this for my son’s wrestling match since they are always falling on one knee. This has helped him improve his techniques with any movements that require him him to fall on his knees. Had good cushion for support and enough tightness to hold up without slipping all the time.

I recommend for sure.

I have previously purchased my last knee pad at this store. It lasts a long time and help me win a lot of matches. I am trying to keep the same momentum with this new pad.

My son is a heavyweight grappler and limited himself from hard falls on his knees to save them. These knee pads have opened up a new world of hurt for his opponents, he says he doesn’t feel anything anymore with drop knee techniques or hard shoots, and has no fear to do them now.

Must read all small print. Ordered a pair of knee pads, when it arrived there was only one in the package. After looking over the ad a few more times I found in small print at the bottom of the page that it was sold individually and not as a pair.

Funny the price was for a pair though. huh.

I upgraded to these from my fox titan hard knee guards and I couldn’t be happier. They are very comfortable, you’ll forget you’re wearing them unless it’s really hot outside but as far as movement goes I’d say you lose very little if any wearing these guards.

Very nice quality though some people have had issues with the neoprene ripping, I’ve found that they don’t like to slide on sweaty skin and if you tug hard they will rip at the seems. To prevent this I wear long socks underneath (moose makes a terrific lightweight thigh high sock that I use) and don’t pull on them like a gorilla.

You can’t pull them off like a sock, you have to work them off a bit at a time. Great product, super recommend. BTW I got the L/XL and they fit my skinny long legs just fine. The small may have been better for my leg girth but I was worried about length.

They still stay in place and don’t slide on my featureless twigs.

Great low profile, comfortable, and protective knee guard. I’ve tested them on a few occasions and they’ve saved my knees every time. Don’t expect to walk away without a scratch or scrape; I did. But they lessened the blunt force to my knees and I feel they did their job.

I also forget they’re on when riding which is a big plus. No problem gripping the bike with them on either. Can’t give 5 starts for two reasons; I got the smaller size (I have skinnier legs) and they still somehow manage to slide down my legs a few inches when I ride.

Keep in mind I also where knee high socks and tighten the straps as far as they go. While the feel snug walking around, they always manage to slide down a bit when I ride leaving the top of my knee cap not exactly where it needs to be in the pad.

Second concern I have is with durability. The pads themselves are great however the “sleeve/sock” you slide your calves into may rip while putting them on or taking them off. Use caution.

I wanted to love these. I put them on and wore them around the house for at least an hour and I was convinced they would be perfect. The small/medium size fit great on my skinny legs. The level of protection is awesome.

They feel comfortable with the soft impact foam. However, when I went for my first ride I quickly realized these are not for me. They severely limit my range of motion. I had a hard time just getting my leg over my bike, and kick starting.

It also takes effort to maintain a seated position. These things want to be straight, you have to work to bend them. Maybe its worse because I’m tall (6’5) and my leg angle is more extreme.

I bought these to keep my kneecap in place when I walk. Long standing injury from work. Great patella support. Have been using for a week. No problems. Would (and have) recommend to others. Worth the price.

A Slim protection Gear that not only keeps the bruises away but also keeps your knees in good temperatures. Fits well under the knee protectors too.

Great as an alternative to wearing knee pads or nothing at all. Won’t skate without these on !!

For those of you on the fence about whether to get knee pads or not, I say do it. I am primarily an alpine skier but live in an area covered in sharp loose rocks paired delicately with a shallow snowpack.

Rox everywhere, all the time. My first pair of TeleKneesis pads lasted me from 2007 until 2022 (with an average of 100 days/ season of use). I still have them as backup. The new ones are even better with top strap made of a more stout elastic.

They’re low-profile enough to fit under most ski pants, and adaptable enough to use in conjunction with a knee brace. They’ll keep your knees warm (but not sweaty) and protect your patellas when you’re rooting around on your knees for whatever reason.

Some people complain about the buckles spontaneously undoing themselves from time to time, but it’s never been much of a problem for me. They’re lightweight too. 10/10 recommend.

So knee pads are usually a pain because they slide around and don’t stay in place. Additionally they are usually uncomfortable. The Black Diamond Telekneesis knee pads stayed in place without having to adjust them even once.

There were not uncomfortable like most knee pads. I honestly forgot that I was wearing them until the end of the day and got all my gear loaded up and got in my Tahoe to drive home, then realized I still had them on.

I can’t attest to longevity yet, but I will say I have had them for about a year and forgot every time I needed them to throw them in my kit. So for being in my Tahoe for a little over a year, surviving two Alabama summers and one winter, I was surprised they were already starting to separate at the glue points.

I plan on buying 2 or 3 more. Several guys on my tac team are looking at buying them rather than the extremely expensive other brands.

I’m a volunteer ski patroller for a smaller midwest hill that has a pretty, shall we say, solid base (kinda icy). I’m also a toboggan skills trainer for the patrol, which means I spend a lot of time on my knees (on that icy base), packing and unpacking toboggans to run training drills.

These pads have made life so much better as I do this. The pads are comfortable to wear, they are flexible, they have enough padding without being bulky, and the protection is hard enough to stop the crud from hurting.

Plus I can now kneel on ice and snow in comfort and additional warmth. I have literally told everyone on the patrol they need to get these. They are probably sick of hearing me talk about my new knee pads.

I’ve used these since wrestling in 2002 and still use them in Jiu-Jitsu. They have changed them from the old style I was used to. Now they have a pad on inside and out to make them fully reversible. I prefer the old style but a great long lasting product none the less.

Bought this for my son who complained his knee was bothering him when he started wrestling. He said he works great, fits good and no longer has issues with his knee while wrestling.

I’ve used many different types of kneepads, but Asics gel has always been my top choice for wrestling. I have to admit its a finest kneepad I’ve ever used, but only complain I have about is the kneepad’s durability and hygiene.

I had problems such as stitching falling apart after couple of washes, gel pad breaking inside my kneepad, and it stretching about 2 or 3 inches. Another downside is, its very difficult to maintain good hygiene with this kneepad.

It eats up your sweat and let its rot there forever!! and the smell doesn’t come off no matter how many times you wash it. But other than that, this kneepad is just excellent. If you have any shock sensitive knee problems this kneepads not for you.

It doesn’t absorb the shock as well. Its like having a shooting sleeves with very little cushioning, and I hope my review helped.

I measured my knee and purchased a small. Unfortunately within five minutes into training they were falling down constantly.

These are a great knee pad. Really cushioned and the shape of them allows full knee movement.

The quality is excellent. I’ve had one low speed crash with these. I hit the outside of my knee on the ground and barely felt the impact. No damage to the pads, nor me. They do get pretty warm on the hot summer days, but I think they are plenty comfortable for the level of protection you get.

No problem riding in 90F weather in full sun. FIT: I’m 5’8″ and 145lbs with lean legs. The medium fits very comfortably snug. I don’t need to tight the velcro adjustment strap. DON’T USE REI SIZE CHART.

It’s waaaaay off. G-form’s website says to measure 8 inches above the center of your knee. I got a measurement of 20. ” G-form says this is a size M or L (just on the line between the two). At 20″ REI recommends an XL which would be way too big for me.

The M fits great now. As my legs get larger from more riding (I’m a beginner) I will need to get the large in a couple months.

compared with other velcro/strap knee guards these are a clear winner. no hotpots, no cutting into you. amazingly minimal slippage if sized appropriately. they work amazing in a fall/ collision (I had a few.

). The only concerns I would have with these is there is no ability to adjust the size so if there is asymmetry between your calves/ thighs or you change mass significantly they can’t change along with you.

Very protective for the price and offer comfort to a ride. For the price they are surprisingly breathable and in my case do not cause any irritation. Although they are protective and are breathable they tend to slide down your leg after 20 minutes to half an hour which can be an annoyance.

This may be because the sizing is too big for my leg but I dont think it is that. Overall I would say they are a very good knee pad for a low cost, they do what theyre made for despite them slididng down my leg.

They are compfy and live up to their standards.

The pads provide decent protection for impacts but are still flexible enough to not impede your riding. The only problem I have with them is that the area behind my knees becomes sore after a while due to the material being too tight causing rubbing on the skin as the material shifts around, this is most noticeable when you bend your legs anywhere near to 90 degrees.

Disclaimer this maybe due to me needing a bigger size, but it would still be nice if fuse could do an open back design.

There are small gripes like the finicky zippers but all gripes pale in comparison to the benefits of these pads. You can pack them and put them on at the top without removing your shoes, they never slip, and they are comfortable and don’t chafe.

The best and most important part of any pad is they have amazing protection! I got kicked off line and plowed a giant immovable boulder with my knee cap and the soft portion below the knee cap while going between 15-20mph.

I walked away with a sore knee and a rug burn type contusion. I have been in my fair share of serious accidents and know for a fact if this would have happened with lighter pads or pads that slip during crashes I wouldn’t have finished the ride or worse yet, had to take another trip to the ER.

I have owned a lot of knee pads and these are the best I have come across for Enduro style riding.

You can tell that these knee guards are high quality and well thought out. I love the zipper feature which allows you to put them on right over your knee instead of having to pull them up over your foot.

I found however that they run very small! I am 5’9″, 140 lb female. So I am not petite but by no means am I large either. I was surprised at how tight and uncomfortable the size medium was for me, especially when the sizing is supposed to be unisex.

I don’t believe that even with stretching they would fit well enough and I had to return. Hopefully they work for others though!.

Best set of knee pads I’ve owned. The ability to apply or remove them quickly and without having to take your shoes off is tops! I’ve raced several Enduros and bombed down plenty of chunky trails and found that I don’t even think about them as they don’t slip or move and are very comfortable.

I even use them when I’m shredding on my Onewheel, they strap right over my jeans. Also love that they are made in the USA. Great customer service as well.

I tried out 6 different pads for use as an under the jeans bmx/street pad. I wanted something with good side protection for the joint (to cover the sides of the tibial and femoral heads) and low profile that isn’t so noticeable.

Note: All pads except the Dakine Agent were a soft material that I think subject to being easily torn on abrasive terrain if not worn under long pants. This is what I found … **Troy Lee Designs Speed Knee Sleeves** Ultra low profile but only covered the front of the knee.

Folds up/bunches when you bend the knee as they are flat pads. That might have been ok under jeans, but they didn’t cover the sides at all. They would literally only give you protection if you fell on the front of the knee.

**Seven 7iDP Sam Hill Lite Knee Pads** Excellent fit and very comfortable. The pad almost moulds itself to your knee shape. Excellent build quality. Medium-Low profile – hardly noticeable under jeans, but it lacked the side protection.

**Dakine Agent Knee Pads** Excellent fit and medium profile. These would be my No 1 pick for MTB wearing with shorts for a bit of rugged enduro riding. Excellent side protection. Excellent quality materials.

The front pad has an interesting square shape to the edges where they stitch onto the main chassis, rather than just curving around the sides they bear forwards and look really cool. the top strap has a rubber end that catches on the shorts when making a pedaling motion.

Stretching the strap all the way across (tighter) so that the rubber end doesn’t sit at the front solved the problem. They have a sturdy nylon material compared to all the others which are cloth and more suited to being worn under long pants.

Because of the quality, the look, and the functionality, I almost bought these for MTB but really I was looking for lowest profile BMX pads with side protection hence I had to resist. I did toss up between these and the TLD Stage pads but Stage has a noticeably lower profile under jeans and a softer/more absorbent pad (tested by falling on knee on tiled floor).

The harder/stiffer pad of the Dakine would probably be better if you fell on rocks with edges, not a flat floor but obviously I didn’t test that. **Dakine Slayer Knee Sleeves** Good side protection, medium-low profile – hardly noticeable under jeans.

It was between these and the TLD Stage pads in the end for me. The TLD had a slightly larger profile under jeans – just barely by maybe an extra 3mm? but were noticeably more absorbent, tested by falling on knee on tiled floor, worth sacrificing a few mm higher profile.

The shin area has lower profile padding than the TLD which makes the knee cap area stand out more under jeans compared to the stage, which has a thicker shin pad, which makes the knee / shin shape more even looking and in a way therefore less noticeable despite being a bit thicker overall.

**Troy Lee Designs Stage Knee Guards** Good side protection, medium-low profile – hardly noticeable under jeans. Best pad of all the pads tried out as they almost mould to the knee shape and provide the most plush protection from knocks.

Ultimately I chose these as it had the most plush pad, fairly low profile, and good side protection. The sleeve is very long and extends very low on the shin, and very high on the thigh. Having used now for a month, I do find that the top cuff is tight and becomes uncomfortable after a few hours, so I just make sure that I only put them on when I ride.

The bottom cuff is a bit loose – which is not a problem for me as it can’t be seen under jeans. They would look really cool in shorts if the bottom cuff wasn’t baggy and loose – I could stitch them up a bit however, the material I think would tear quite easily on rocks or concrete if worn with shorts and ultimately my application is for under jeans BMX/street hence non-issue for me other than seeing it when I am suiting up.

**100% Teratec Knee Guards Black** Excellent fit and very comfortable. Medium-Low profile – hardly noticeable under jeans, but it lacked the side protection. Almost identical to the 7iDP, but the 7 has a slightly better fit, the pad moulds to the knee a bit better, and build quality.

pads are sick. so nice to be able to take on and off without removing shoes. I use them mostly for downhill and they stay put on my knees with no adjustments. only complaint is I wish the calf strap could get a little more tight.

or maybe im projecting that I wish my calf had a little more meat on it 5’10” 170 lbs wear a large and it fits fine. I could maybe fit into a medium but it felt a little too tight for my liking.

I have ridden a couple of times with these pads. I have found them to be lighter and easier to pedal in than my previous, I like that you can remove them without taking off your shoes. I havent hit the dirt yet, but they seem durable enough.

I am a little concerned that the Velcro may wear out early because it sticks so well.

Try using the Trail: two exits for a total of about 80km and 1500m of altitude difference. Very comfortable in all conditions, even when pedaling uphill. They always stay in place. They look very well done and the shell has a nice texture.

It is essential to check your measurements before deciding on the size.

Excellent product, fits extremely well and there is no movement when riding I actually forgot I was wearing them Hopefully I never have to test out is crash ability but I certainly feel very reassured it will work when required.

I have subsequently bought another pair for my son too :).

It is well made and look sturdy enough. The size is on the thight side. I have very strong legs and even with XL size, they seems to fit a bit too tight.

So far, I love these pads, for two reasons. 1. They are longer overall, so the protection portion covers more of my shin. The sleeve portion above the knee does sit high, but I believe it wouldn’t be as effective at staying on without that kind of length.

2. They are sooo comfortable. I find myself wearing them all day without even noticing they’re on. While pedaling, I don’t notice them and they don’t move around or slide up or fall down. I’m seeing some comments about them being less malleable in colder temperatures.

It would make sense, given that the SAS Tech is a malleable material itself, but I’ve ridden mine all day in temperatures peaking at 50° F or for shorter evening rides between 30° and 45° often and had no comfort issues.

For sizing, I feel like they fit true to size. Note: I do have to wear these underneath my riding leggings directly on my skin, otherwise the silicone tape on the sleeve ends don’t work and the top slides down.

I will say that I haven’t crash-tested these other than getting hit hard in the shin by my pedal once and didnt feel it, but I feel they are a good medium-weight, medium-intensity knee pad. For those wanting hard, heavy-duty protection, you should look at heavier-duty pads.

Just purchased the 7iDP Sam Hill Knee Pad! Have only had one solid day of riding on these. So this is my initial review. Most of my riding is more downhill oriented, and though these are more advertised as a trail/enduro pad these feel great for light DH.

Slipping these on, they take a sec to get in position as they are a longer pad than your traditional knee pad. There are no Velcro straps, just some silicone grip inside the upper portion of the pad.

The protective insert, cups nicely on the knee and extends a few inches down the shin for added protection, without feeling like a shin guard. The side of the knee has very minimal padding which is a bummer, but typically the hardest impact will be straight on, so I’m not too hung up on that.

I spent the day hiking and doing DH runs. These pads were comfortable to wear all day. Never having to adjust them. Can’t ask for more. They feel a little warm but more in the since of wearing a knee brace sock, because they run up the thigh to keep them from slipping down.

Very light weight. Curious to see how they hold up long term and in a crash. But if you’re a trail rider to an aggressive enduro racer looking for the next new pad to keep you happy and safe on the trails, look no further the 7iDP Sam Hill Pads are for you!.

Did not buy from this website, but still bought these knee pads. They are very, very comfy. If you have peakies, or razor blades, then I recommend cutting off the paper labels as they are tad annoying.

Otherwise, one other thing I can say is don’t leave your pads out in the sun(i mean the pads alone, not the cloth housing) they can get malleable and shrink. otherwise, very breathable and i fell on these a couple times, they hurt when you fall like give you a bruise or a pretty bad bruise like purple ones at very bad(sharp) ones at times.

Other than that, never had gravel(road)rash from these. EVER!.

We had ordered the lower spec version and it wasnt possible to get them from warrior so I received a call from Willie’s and they sorted out the next spec up with a bit if a discount that was appreciated.

My son has reported that they are comfortable and although more substantial than his previous pair, they still fit nicely under his leg pads. He is on the smallest end of the size bracket so needed to make sure the velcro was done up tightly.

Overall very happy as its difficult to get the sizing right on line.

My daughter was a little skeptical before she tried them, not another piece of goalie equipment! After trying them for the first time and now after about 20 ice times, she still loves them. Extra knee cushioning, knee protection, not bulky or heavy.

These will now be part of her goalie equipment as she grows.

Just upgraded from the previous version, no big changes but definite improvements. Straps have been lengthened and the shape is better making them feel less bulky. Very happy with them.

My order came out amazing. I had a custom image I designed and it looked great on this knee sleeve. I couldn’t wait for Christmas and gave my son an early gift so he could wear it to his wrestling events this week it was so great.

My son loves it. Fit was perfect. He wrestles in the 126-145 range in high school and this fit great. The order came in way quicker then I expected too.

My child wore one of the sleeve’s for a tournament this weekend. Wrestled twice the whole day and the stitching around the top of the leg elastic has already come apart. This means it won’t stay up on his leg and I have to try and sew it.

I have had to do this before in the past but usually not until the end of the season. Disappointed this happened the first time he used it.

I searched many websites for a custom wrestling sleeve and knee pad for my 2 wrestlers only to be disappointed. I finally came across the Cumulus website, and skepticism aside, I decided to give them a shot.

I could not be more pleased with the result, and my boy’s love the look and feel. I was pleased to see that the custom image is perfect in color and appearance. The image is sublimated in the material and not screen printed on, which should be more durable.

The sleeve and pad seem to be of good construction even though they have only been used a few practices. The overall time frame from ordering to receiving took a week, with there being a holiday that the postal service was closed.

They look like they provide lots of protection, but I keep finding bruises on my inner knee, in the region that points toward the ice in the butterfly. I checked a YouTube video to see if I was wearing them incorrect, and they are being put on correctly.

These were recommended from a friend and they have not disappointed. Provide a great knee stack and staying where they should be.

I have dozens of knee pads. My favs have been Troy Lee Stage, Forcefield Sport Tubes and the Kali Protectives. These were pricier but decided to give them a go. Glad I did. Finding CE2 protection in something this low profile and comfortable is simply amazing.

They aren’t any bigger than the Troy Lees (CE1) and offer higher protection. Additionally these are made very well with silicone grippers on the top AND bottom of the pad, and the pads are removable for cleaning.

Couldn’t be happier. Hoping they make a Hooper in elbows too soon.

Throw these bad boys on and once you’re pedaling you won’t even notice them. Lightweight and breathable as heck. Took them on a 20 mile ride and was very impressed. There is not any weird pinching on the back of knee and they dry out from sweat quick.

Have never worn knee pads like this before it was always knee braces riding moto. Was a bit skeptical but after riding with them I wouldn’t even ride without them now. I’m fact I ordered a second pair just to have as a back up.
