Didn’t realuse this was barely 100 pages. Charged ove 6, advertisong blurb states these bookshot costbless than $5 so over 6 GBP is overpriced.

Great suspense. Thor is a very talented storyteller. This will keep you on the edge of your seat.

This book is a government/military special operations book that moves quickly. It’s a exciting read!

Jack Carr Expands on the experiences of his main character and works to develop storylines on the support characters. The descriptive writing is excellent and makes it easy for the reader to “see” the scenery described as the book travels from location to location.

Excellent research and the authors experience on different areas of the globe is noteworthy and comes out in the writing. It was a fun read but I would recommend reading Terminal List first to get better context into what is going on.

I have purchased the third book Savage Son by Jack Carr , and so far it too has been a great read. If you like reading Mark Greaney and the Grey man series, or Vince Flynn and the Mitch Rapp books then you will enjoy being introduced to James Reece in these books.

Jack Carr’s tale of Commander Reece, his trials, tribulations, adventures and tumultuous life is first class. Ranks his story telling amongst the best like Baldacci, Cussler and Clancy, and the main character story line like Danial Silva.

Enjoyed the books so far and look towards the 6th book.

This book displayed what i see as growing trend. way too much filler. Pages of detail that have no or little reference to the plot. EG. The author spends pages describing the details of the weapons, which again have very little meaning except to the author.

This book could be maybe 20 / 30 pages less and still have the desired impact.

James Patterson is a brilliant writer. I have now read books 1 – 10 of this series and they are all excellent and impossible to put down.

Love James Patterson, he is the only author I read because I am not a huge book reader but he can always grab my attention. The 10th book of the womens murder mystery series does not let you down. It has just as many twists and turns (if not more) than all the others.

I bought this book because it was about 75% off the retail price. Shipped here FAST too. If I couldn’t find this book at this price I would of waited for the local library to get it. But I love owning it.

I would recommend all James Patterson books especially the women’s murder mystery series.

An excellent read as usual! Highly recommend this book! I enjoyed it immensely! I collect as many of the James Patterson books as I can get my hands on. He is an excellent author as well as those who co-write with him.

Women’s Murder Club books are my favorite along with the Alex Cross books. I would read any and all books with James Patterson as the author.

“The Hunting Party” by “Lucy Foley” is super suspenseful psychological thriller. Many readers might have issues initially in remembering all the names since the author introduces lot of characters at the start, but what worked for me personally was writing all the names down on a piece of paper and thereafter I remembered them easily.

It is very important to have these characters to build up the plot and also to have enough conflict between multiple people so as to give motive to each of them to be a killer. You will get the first clue revealing the gender of the victim at about 75% through the book and finally both the victim and the murderer will be revealed in last few chapters.

The author has done a good job at describing this isolated, almost haunted place. There is so much hatred, jealousy and secrets in the group that built up over several years that it ruined the whole group long before they even realized this, but nobody ever confronted one another.

One thing interesting to me was to hear the scenes from a couple of character’s perspectives and you can see what they think of themselves and the others. The author didn’t make each person describe the same scene which was good, otherwise this book would have been too long and too slow.

The saying “never judge a book by it’s cover” goes well with each character of this book. Sometimes rugged looking tough people might be softer from inside than innocent looking people. What we learn from this fictional story is that it’s not a real friendship if people let so much build up inside them and almost start to hate each other.

I think it is important to share your feelings and if it affects your friendship, then you will know it wasn’t as strong as you thought anyways. Real friendship is when you can call each other out on mistakes (maybe not in front of other people but alone) and still remain friends.

If you are into mysteries and psychological thrillers then go for this one.

The Guest List + One by One + Mean Girls While at Oxford, a group of friends begins to split into couples (with one exception). It’s to the point, the group only gathers for New Year’s Eve. This year, the spot chosen is a Scottish estate that sits on the size of its own country.

When a body is found, the caretakers must try and figure out if there was foul play and if help will be able to get them through the snow-in in time. I was surprised to find I loved this even more that The Guest list! First, I guessed almost everything about TGL.

Here, I got the victim right, but was completely wrong about the predator. As well as some other twists. I also love that this book is so dark throughout. These people are supposed to be the oldest of friends, but you see how almost everyone truly thinks.

I also appreciate how Lucy does her PoVs. She doesn’t have everyone as a narrator, so she doesn’t overwhelm the reader. However, she doesn’t only give us one or two narrators, ruining “whodunit. ” I will say I wish I had had more time to order the book from the UK.

I really wanted the UK edition, as I prefer that cover. Unfortunately, I couldn’t trust the post right now so wound up buying the American version so I could have it for my Readathon. Buy this for yourself or someone looking for an unpredictable mystery! Or, if you’re twisted, get it for someone who has mentioned they’re not as close to their school friends as they used to be.

I am reading this book at the moment and enjoying it very much. I like the way he writes. It brings a few smiles along also. The English writers seem to have a better understanding of English.

I love the Charlie Parker series and have devoured every book, this one is probably my favourite to date!

John Grisham always delivers, but not every delivery is he same. “A Time for Mercy” is engaging, but only after the first few chapters – for some reason, I had tp work to remain engaged. The story does pick up, and maintained my interest through to the last page.

I was, however left with a vague sense of. incomplete? What’ about the other suit that took up so much of the narrative? Smallwood? Is closure coming with the next book? What has (or will) happen to Drew? I fear the DA is allowing his need to be seen doing his job, along with what has all the hallmarks of pure vindictiveness over the surface facts of the matter rule his thinking.

I eagerly wait for the next offering from the talented pen of Mr. Grisham.

Bought this book to take on Vacation. 78 pages into it, the pages started jumping around (ie to 105-117, then to 150. ). So you had to flip thru the book to get a continuous read. Some pages were totally missing.

The story should be the mystery, not where to find the pages. Check your book before starting to read to make sure yours was printed right. Hopefully WalMart will let me exchange. Left me without a book on vacay.

Always a big fan of Grisham. Like his character of Jake Brigance, a solo practitioner in a small town. The book is longer than most of his priors, but no problem with that as it helps imagining Matthew McConaughey as the character.

A little disappointed that he did not wrap the mysterious person at the railroad crossing. Maybe in the next Brigance book.

I enjoyed this endearing 4. 5 star read from Charlaine Harris featuring Sookie Stackhouse. Poor Sookie never gets it easy. There is always something going on. This book is no different but we do get to meet a long lost relative of Sookie’s and I shall say no more on that.

I enjoyed the mix of vampires, shifters, weres, fairies and witches and put them all in a cauldron and stir them up and you have a potion for another delightful and successful Sookie Stackhouse book.

If you are a Sookie fan and following the series then this is definitely a good read for you. If you are new to Sookie’s world, my suggestion would be to start from book 1 of the series. By the time we get to this book.

book 8, most of the characters are very well known to us. Yes, another hit from Charlaine Harris and I am looking forward to reading on in the series and sharing in Sookie’s further adventures.

This book was average on my Sookie Stackhouse based book’s scale. After the prior book, none could seem to add up. The Fae and their story are the most spice you can expect in the future novels. The series now, IMO, have gone way off track from the intriguing mystery based plot lines of Seasons 1,2, and 3 and are now bizarre, but to an extent of cheese and unbelievable characters and plots that conflict with all we’ve learned off Bon Temps, wolves, shifters, and vampires thus far (season 3) in True Blood.

Sad really as I was excited the plot lines were diverging from the books. Is this what people really need/want to keep their attention in a series about otherworldly characters in our own world?? SAD!.

Like all Charlaine Harris, the characterization was terrific. The reader truly feels that they ‘know’ these characters, becomes attached to them and engrossed in their stories. As usual, Mrs. Harris is not afraid to take several of those characters away from you, in one way or another.

The books, for all that they are fantasy, have an extremely life-like quality; very gritty and realistic in tone and idea. This book was perhaps a little darker than some, but in the way that many people in Louisiana have experienced since Katrina.

There are always those, in any culture, who are eager to take advantage of the weakened. Mrs. Harris creates an alternate reality that is so close to our own and so well thought out as to make it completely imaginable.

In ‘From Dead to Worse’ she continues the thread of characters that Sookie readers have come to know and love. Hearts are broken, empires destroyed, new lives began and hopes are both snuffed out and rekindled.

As a bridge book in a series, obviously there is some backstory, and of course a slight cliffhanger, although again I think the author does a commendable job, with this and every other ‘chapter’ of the saga, of making each story complete in itself and capable of standing alone.

How anyone could want to read just one, however, is beyond me. Excellent book in an excellent series.

This was such an amazing book. Once again Jodi Picoult wrote a page turner. I finished it in a few days. I would definitely recommend this book.

Mercy by Jodi Picoult is a cleverly written story about two marriages: one between Cam and his wife Allie, the other between Cam’s cousin Jamie and his wife Maggie. As the novel progresses, the reader watches as the marriage between Cam and Allie changes.

It is fun to watch the characters develop as they deal with difficult issues in their lives. I know this book has received some negative reviews but don’t understand why. I began this novel about 8PM one evening and was up until after 2AM finishing it up; it was that hard to put it down.

My book club read Mercy for our May book, and everyone enjoyed it. One member who had never read a book by Jodi Picoult has now read several more. I myself have always enjoyed Ms. Picoult’s books, especially Plain Truth.

I’ve just become in the last 12 months a Jodi Picoult fan and am slowly working through her list of books. Once I start I just cant seem to put the books down. Great Author.

I bought my first book by this author on a sale rack, it looked good. The book was hard to put down it was so good. After I read the first one I started hunting for any other books by her. All of the books I have read by her so far are about a police chief up in Amish country in Ohio.

She grew up Amish but left the Amish community as a teenager. After working as a police officer in a large city she returns to the area. She is very good at her job because she knows both ways of life.

The stories are very compelling and well written. And they have all been hard to put down, you just want to know what is going to happen next. I read a lot of books and mysteries are my favorite. These are up there with the best, like Catherine Coulter, James Patterson.

I recommend all of her books to anyone who likes a good mystery.

This was not an Amish type story. It was more of a romance, sprinkled with terrible language.

Everything about this book is good. The characters are intriguing & believable. The plot is fascinating & involving. I love the fact that the main character is a female cop who was formerly Amish – she has a complex relationship with other characters & her Amish community.

As with Castillo’s other mysteries, the reader is “hooked” from the beginning to end.

The story followed the pattern of the earlier popular books. However, in this case the story line failed to deliver as past books have. More specifically, the women’s murder club did not solve, or come close to solving these crimes.

They ran around baffaled and confused for the whole book. In the end, someone else solved the mysteries / crimes and just sent the heroins in to arrest the criminal at the end of the story. It seemed like the authors had become bored with these characters and were producing this story against a deadline that needed to be met for the publisher.

I hope the get back on track with their next effort.

I have read this series right from the beginning and, in my opinion, it is the best series that James patterson has written. You grow very familiar with the characters and the way they handle the various cases.

The other great thing is that there is t as much bad language or sex in this series. It’s a pity the other series didn’t cut the sex and language to give us a chance to enjoy the story. He is a great writer, but the language etc puts me off.

No need for it.

Got it on Monday afternoon and finished the book on Wednesday by noon. Great read. I finished the Womens Murder Club series in order. Now I have to wait til they release #22.

Confessions of a Murder Suspect by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro I was really excited about reading this book because James Patterson had a hand in writing it plus the title of the book just pulled me in but then I started to read.

I had high expectations just because I’ve heard so many wonderful things about James Patterson’s writing. I’m afraid to say my expectations weren’t met but let’s start with the good. 1. Harry AngelñI loved this character because he brought humanity to the angel family.

I may also have a soft spot for him because of his musical ability and my background in music but he is by far my favorite character. He was portrayed as the cry baby too in tune with his emotions character but compared to the rest of the cast he is the one I felt was most relateable.

I do wish that his character had been developed more. 2. There were moments in the book (towards the end mind you) that took me by surprise. Without giving away too much the ending was very poetic. The way the story developed is something I would have never seen coming.

It was beautiful in the way James Patterson and Maxine Paetro solved the murder of Maude and Malcolm Angel. There are however questions left unanswered. 3. Hugo Angelñthe comedic relief. He had his funny moment but like the other character he wasn’t fully developed.

And now the badÖ 1. The main character addresses the reader directly. This style of writing may be interesting for some of you but for me it just pulled me from the story and was more annoying than anything.

2. Upon closing the book I didn’t get the satisfaction of having gotten the entire story. There were questions that James Patterson and Maxine Paetro bring up but never fully answer. It’s like they inject those questions into the story to add a touch of suspense but then gloss over them and never fully address them.

3. It took me forever to get into the book. In fact there were multiple times throughout the book I thought about putting the book down and never opening it again just because I couldn’t get engaged in it.

James Patterson has done it again. He met the genre of the plot with a twist that will make you open your mouth so wide, your lower jaw will hit the floor. Very riveting, mysterious, suspenseful, and thrilling.

It will leave you wanting more after you finish chapter after chapter. And once you finish the whole thing, you’ll be left wondering: “Could I kill my parents. ?”.

Such a fun of all of his books. Wasn’t sure what I would think of this series since it isn’t an adult series but I absolutely loved it. I can’t wait to get the 3rd book for Christmas! Every time Patterson comes out with a new book, I’m one of the first people at the store to get it.

My problem is I keep getting there before the vendor has been there so I have to go back later.

i’ve previously purchased and dowloaded e-books from booktopia. however now it appears that you have to download a proprietary app in order to read them. why not a simple epub file that can be read with apple books or kindle, etc? unimpressed.

C. J. Box is at the top of my list of authors. This latest book is a hit. I read it in one day. Could not put it down. Great writer and great story. I hate it that Nate and his family have to go off grid, but who knows what the drug lords will send next.

Highly recommended book and series.

This is another high quality, cliff-hanger despite game warden Joe Pickett just trying to do the right thing. The stunning Wyoming landscape and its people are vividly brought to life as Joe battles the odds to defend his family and friends.

Still my favourite author! He can weave a story better than Harris Tweed! C. J. Box started this series a long time ago and the best thing he did back then was create the characters that are so believable I want to go to Wyoming and knock on their doors!! I can’t wait for the next book.

I have read this book twice now and I have loved it everytime! The romance and mystery weaved together in a horrifying and sometimes grotesque background. Whitechapel, London when Jack the Ripper was terrorising the streets and women were appearing murdered, their bodies butchered and mutilated for unknown reasons.

This book kept me hooked, from the photographs that were incorporated throughout the novel, to wanting to know what was going to happen next. Who was the faceless Jack the Ripper? As well as the blooming relationship between Audrey Rose Wadsworth and Thomas Cresswell.

I could honestly write an essay on why I believe Thomas Cresswell is one of, if not the best book husband. I reccomend this book to everyone!.

Good light entertainment. Yes it is about Jack the Ripper and his horrible crimes, still this is a YA title and I didn’t expect it to get too heavy. There was a surprising amount detail about the horrible acts The Ripper performed on his victims.

I liked the character Thomas. He is very obviously based on Sherlock Holmes, meaning very superior and condescending to his associate, main character Audrey Rose Wadsworth in the Watson-ish role. The name Doyle makes a cameo appearance as a newspaper man.

I’ve seen a few rough reviews for this story. The author’s note does mention that she did take liberties with the historic facts, it was meant to be fiction.

This series is soo good and really hard to put down. #bookworm There’s a young woman apprenticing with her uncle in mortuary sciences. You get to see the trouble our main character goes through because during that time period it was not the type of thing a “proper” lady would do.

This is a story about her journey to help find out who the real Jack the Ripper was (with a few companions). At times I got a really big Sherlock feel. Not saying it’s a bad thing! I loved that aspect of it.

I really enjoyed most of the characters in this book including the two main characters. The plot was also good in my opinion. There’s an author’s note at the end of the book explaining the things in the story that she kept accurate and which characters she made up for the story.

There were definitely things that happened in the book that I didn’t see coming. I also really enjoyed the writing style of this book and felt it was fairly accurate to the time period the author was writing in.

All in all, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for more to come from the series. Stalking Jack the Ripper – by Kerri Maniscalco (Hardcover).

Michael Connelly is on top form with this fast paced thriller. Set in Los Angeles an online urnalist finds himself a suspect when a former girlfriend is murdered. His journalistic instincts draw him deeper into the story as he attempts to slve the mystery of who the killer is and of course publish the story first.

Well researched great storytelling puts this novel up there with the authors best.

Having read all Michael Connellys books, I believe Fair Warning to be another excellent novel. Really held my attention and had me guessing until the last few pages. I did think there would be another twist in the tail but on reflection, I think, one of his best.

A fantastic story.I could not put this book down.The short chapters make it easy to grab a quick read on breaks from work .woyld highly recommended it.

I love all James Patterson Books . Always keeps you interested. He writes the best thrillers. Pages cannot turn fast enough.

This book was a little different from his normal stories. I enjoyed the book because I like the author. I find his books very easy to read. Young adults and older teens might enjoy this one.
