Love The bright colors. Which there were more choices. Price a little high, but I had a coupon so that helped. Also, they put your name in for a drawing in a “Sweepstakes” Again, I purchased three of these bundles and 1 of the other yarn choice you had.

Would have like to seen a few more bundles with different colors.

A set of 12 colors is a plus! We utilize the yarn in various ways, We do projects such as stringing beads and buttons, We use to hang art activities, we use in the art center as well.

The thickness is consistent throughout, and I haven’t found a single knot or join anywhere on the cone. The label says to wash separately, because “some colors may run” and that’s definitely true, including the colors on the cream yarn with spots of brown/orange/green bleeding on itself (I may just have to wash it again and see, but after hand washing and blocking I noticed the difference from unwashed swatches.

) I’ve noticed that the size varies between colors – the cone I have with dark blue works well with 5mm needles for me, but the cream with brown/orange/green spots is slightly thinner and works better with 4.

5mm needles. It’s really a pleasure to work with though, no issues with splitting and the cone makes tangling non-existent. I have no complaints about quality, but I mention the above because if I were to use two colors in a project I would want to know that the blue is thicker than the cream with spots, and the colors bled when I washed the cream one.

I haven’t finished anything with the blue enough to know if it would bleed as well, however.

Great cotton yarn makes lovely head band laurels & scarves. Love the “Woodland trail” color has blends of avocado greens, cool browns, creams & rusty orange. Could make slip dresses, shawls, dainty summer sweaters too! Laurel pattern is 12 sc, 4bpdc, 4fpdc, 4 bpdc, 4fpdc.

I am an avid crocheter with decades of experience – was very excited about this yarn in the skein and then disgusted with it after trying several types of projects with different types of stitches and hook sizes.

The overall problem is that it just doesn’t “wear” well. It fuzzes way too easily and those fuzzes pill, turning nice stitch patterns into a hazy mess. While you can machine wash it, that exacerbates the problem and your project wears away.

I have received gifts made of this knit on small needles that look good and fuzz less than my crochet, but they still fuzz and look crummy. This yarn makes a waste of the time you spend making your project.

Go with the Red Heart Satin for sure.

I love, love, love the colors in the “heathers”, especially Plum Mist. It is outstandingly beautiful. You know those glints of color you see in soap bubbles? This yarn is the same way. Purples, with tiny glints of blue and red.

It’s gorgeous. I made myself a big cardigan with it. and now my DIL is stealing it. So, I’ve ordered more of the same to make myself another one.

I’ve weaving a scarf with Colrain Lace, starting with some I’d bought a few years ago. #1 problem: My favorite colors – “Coffee” [a beautiful deep rust] and “Dark Teal” [a nice rich teal color] have been discontinued.

PLEASE reinstate your “Coffee” color – I guess the name might relate to raw coffee beans?? It’s BEAUTIFUL, whatever you choose to call it, and goes really well with several other colors in my stash. I tried to replace it w/ “Navajo Red”, but it doesn’t have “Coffee”‘s rich character.

#2 problem – “Sand” is very boring and disappointing! #3 – There are very few green shades in your latest color selection – very disappointing to me. Thanks for asking. If you resume “Coffee”, by whatever name, I’d love to buy more.

This is a good weight yarn – heavy lace at 618 yds/100 grams. And it is acid dyeable even with the 50% tencel content. Dyed colors are less saturated than on 100% wool. It’s a little splitty and a little fuzzy (wool fuzzing off tencel?).

This is my second purchase and I bought two colors. I’m dyeing a gradient over the lighter one and might dye a more ombre gradient over the other.

I love Ultra Pima for baby blankets. I have made 9 or 10 with it and they hold up so beautifully – they can be washed dozens of times without any fading. Parents regualrly report that the fabric stays soft and vibrant no matter what their child does to it.

I can count on the colors and the dye lots are so consistent that I’ve been able to use yarn from old projects with new ones without any issue (always check, just in case!). Smooth, soft, and easy to work with, this is my go-to and will stay that way for cotton needs.

My Daughter in law to be is from Ann Arbor. Her family are strong supporters of local small businesses. When I saw an add for MFY, I decided to place an order. I absolutely love the color and texture of all the yarns I ordered! The prices are very low for the quality.

Of course, I had to order more to complete the projects I started. The wedding is next July in Plymouth and I plan on coming in from PA two days ahead of schedule just so I can visit your shop!.

This is a superfine, soft, scrumptious cotton yarn. The yardage is great. The colors are as represented, good solid colors, not overly rich jewel tones, but everything else you need to complement your richer colors can be done with this fine Pima Cotton.

It’s a sturdy yarn, despite it’s delicate soft cotton feel. Can be used for baby projects; because it’s baby soft. The Pima Cotton also lends your projects a soft sheen and an amazing drape that other cottons don’t deliver.

Take note, this tends to be a dk weight, and the dk weight carries more like a sport weight. Great yarn. This will easily become one of those basic cotton yarn staples that you’ll keep stocked in your stash.

It’s a very soft, very fun yarn to knit & crochet with. However, I recommend it more for experienced crafters as the fine threads that make up the yarn make it a tad more difficult to work with. It’s easy to “split” the yarn by grabbing one of those threads vs the central (usually a brighter color that’s easy to see) and thus have issues with the craft.

It’s also a good idea to double up this yarn with another easier yarn to work with to help avoid that issue but keep in mind, that does reduce the soft & cuddly nature of the yarn. In some cases, the central thread is cut which does pose issues but of the skeins that I have purchased over the years, I think it’s more of a fluke then a recurring problem but also is why I wouldn’t use as a brand new/very beginner knitter/crocheter.

I highly recommend it & have used it for a dozen or so scarfs, hoods, toys-but be prepared to focus a bit more on the yarn if you aren’t used to it & take more care.

I’m crocheting a heavier weight afghan/blanket for the cooler months. The afghan will primarily be used as a “sofa blanket”, but can serve as cuddly, warm bedding using Fossil and Fisherman. The yarn is smooth and thick, easy to crochet with.

It’s machine washable and dryable on gentle cycle. The Fossil is a blend of grays, warm taupe, and fisherman cream will fit in most neutral color schemes. I also used solid fisherman cream yarn in broad sections to bump up the Fisherman neutral look.

I recently purchased one ball of this yarn only to use as an extension to a single bedspread I made from this yarn about 2 years ago – called the Magnolia pattern. The rug was easy to crochet and it turned out simply gorgeous, but I felt it could have been longer.

I have two daughters who were fighting over this bedspread. The oldest daughter had it for 1 year, and now the youngest daughter says it is her turn. I added the extension because the youngest daughter has a king single bed which is a little longer than a standard sized single bed.

It also makes excellent soft and stretchy beanies for Chemo patients. I really do believe it is in a category on its own. The only bad thing is the price – It is too expensive to use for Charity donations, but it is a gem for gifts and home use for loved ones.

I purchased three of these cones. In small print, on the wrapper, it says that some colors may run. They all run. After working for months on projects, I noticed when blocking, starching, or washing, the colors bleed terribly.

What a mess. This is not washable thread AT ALL, nor is it a minor issue. What use is thread that runs, that the color bleeds? It totally destroyed months of work. Do not buy this thread if you plan on spending time on projects that you will need to be washed, starched or blocked.

What a disaster. I’m terribly disappointed. It’s sickening, in my opinion, that this product is even sold.

I use the LIly Sugar’n cream cotton yarn as warp strings on my loom. Previously I have only ever purchased the smaller balls of the yarn (2. 5oz). I have never had an issue with it. However, yesterday I purchased this cone as I would need more of it for the project I am working on.

I was under the impression that it was the exact same product. It was so frail I could tug on it with my bare hands and it snapped in half every time! I took it back to Joann’s and tested the other cones in various other colors, and sure enough they all snapped.

I ended up just purchasing the smaller ball of yarn, and it was very strong. Just be aware that this is not the same product that is sold in the 2. 5oz balls. It is a much weaker product.

I love this particular yarn from Lion Brand. It glides very smoothly with my hook and doesn’t fray or unravel like some other similar worsted weight yarns I’ve tried. If you do a lot of doll making or amigurumis, I highly recommend this particular brand.

It comes in so many different colors, you can practically find any shade to use for any doll character.

So happy that Bella Luna Toys is carrying these yarn packs for weaving. Recently got the Harrisville peg loom, and needed extra yarn for the project my son was weaving. Was able to order the yarn pack and match the yarn! Will be ordering the other colored yarn packs to use for future projects!.

New to weaving so didn’t know how much yarn I would need. The one problem I have with the collection was you don’t get an even amount of each color and I would have chosen a different distribution of the colors.

I like the quality of the yarn. Not a lot of yarn enough for one project which I think is fair for the cost.

This is a stocking stuffer for my daughter who loves her loom. This color scheme is a hit with my kindergarten girl.

We order these laces every year for our pre-k students and get so much mileage out of them! Prefect for little fingers. They are great for necklace making, lacing cards and use on the loom. They love the fun colors, too!.

We purchase these laces annually for a getting dressed unit in our preschool outreach program. The children use the tipped laces to lace a shoe. It’s a great small motor skill activity. The laces are thin but they work really well for our purposes.

Use these all the time for beading with kids. Only one time I had on fray and child’s project ended up needing to be redone. I’ve bought these many times

I just bought this yarn in-store the other day during a sale, and after playing around with it a little, I’m in love! It is a little tricky to get used to; I’m used to using sturdier yarn that you can pull on pretty firmly.

You definitely need to be more delicate with this velvet yarn to avoid damaging it. I also automatically used a smaller hook (5. 5mm) because I thought the recommended size seemed way too big for what I had in mind.

I spent the weekend crocheting an elephant with the vapor gray color; I literally couldn’t stop, the softness was addictive to work with! The weight, softness, etc. so good! Had to order another ball to finish my project, and I already have plans for future projects with this yarn.

After seeing reviews about washing, I will be sure to keep the manufacturer’s directions of hand-wash only in mind when planning the next projects. I also saw that it’s recommended to work the yarn from the outside of the ball – out of habit (and before reading this recommendation), I automatically pulled from the center (gently) but had no issues whatsoever.

Only found a single knot in the ball, too.

I did a lot of research into this yarn before buying. Here is what I’ve found that is true for the yarn, after working with it for a bit: – This yarn is better tighter stitched than other yarns at its weight – otherwise, you have a very good chance of experiencing worming in your work.

Size down your needles and hooks when using this yarn (and when I mean size down, I mean possibly 2-3 hook/needle sizes down). – Because of the material of this yarn, it is slippery to work with! Metal alloy tools might be a little harder to use with this yarn.

– This yarn doesn’t wash in the machine well. Hand wash the finished products from this yarn. – Just as some skeins of other yarns might end up with skinnier bits, this might end up with portions that have no velvet fuzz on them, and there are several knots/joins in the skeins that I suggest cutting out and knotting into your work in a more aesthetic/secure area.

– I don’t suggest trying to sew in your ends (unless your stitches are very tight, or you have some magic method that you’re sure will hold). This yarn is incredibly showy and beautiful. I would not recommend doing any sort of intricate stitchwork with this, as the sheen and fluffiness of this yarn will overshadow it – so it is a bit limited in use.

The feel of this yarn is wonderful, however, and the tones available are lovely. If you can learn how to work with it, it can be one of the most beautiful yarns you’ll use. Anyone looking specifically for a velvet yarn is going to find something good with Bernat Velvet.

I guess I could be considered a master at crochet given the 50+ years I have been at it and the variety of items I have made over the years. I know the problems that can occur and I avoid them from the start.

Shortly after receiving a large order of Bernat Velvet Yarn, I began to read about serious problems with this yarn, so I took all recommended strategies to prevent the most frequently cited problems.

looping, holes in the fabric appearing suddenly, knotting, significant unpleasant odor from dyes (little to nothing can be done about that), etc. I made a large prayer/chemo shawl for my friend. Despite my best efforts to mitigate reported problems, the end of my project produced all of the documented problems of looping, holes in fabric, increased dye odors that require multiple washings.

This yarn must be hand washed. It is extremely heavy when wet and it is difficult to extract the absorbed water. Overall, there were more problems with this yarn than any yarn I have worked with in over 50 years.

It is beautiful, but so difficult to mitigate performance problems that it is not worth the risk to ever purchase or work with it again. I will give my remaining stash of 15-20 unopened Bernat velvet yarns away along with full disclosure of substantial risks.

So sad all around. I do NOT recommend this yarn.

I have been using this yarn for wash cloths to give as gifts. The fact that it is cotton/poly blend is so much better than acrylic blend. It is really soft and easy to work with. I will agree with others that the yarn is sometimes not as twisted as other parts of the skein, and that there are sometimes more knots than seem necessary (if they are making large lots).

But overall, I LOVE this stuff! Next, I am going to make shawls for the women at the Alzheimer’s home that is nearby.

Crocheted two vests for grands. Yarn appears to have a white cotton fiber twisted with the multicolored polyester one. Came untwisted regularly. Tried knitting with it first but was too frustrating. At least with the hook I could snag the errand line.

Not pleasant feeling on one’s hands. Also, all three skeins had “lumps” and even places where just two ends had been tied in the middle of nowhere! Very annoying. Definitely would never purchase again.

I have been looking for this yarn for quite awhile. My mother-in-law used to make slippers with this yarn and i thought i would give it a shot. I am doing these on a loom knitter. Not quite the same as my mother-in-law, but better than ‘wool’ ones.

This yarn is not as thick as the one I use to knit with but will see how it wears. Could not buy much of a variety of colours back home in Canada and then found it on WalMart. com online shopping and site to store.

Everything has a high rating because thinner is better than no yarn at all. Ladies I have made the slippers for here say they are like the ones their Moms use to make for them, soft and comfy and nice fit.

The yarn is thinner but the slippers are not stretching and keeping their shape. BERNAT use to have lots of colours but not as much a choice now. Hope they get back into colours. Got a friend using it again.

I will be ordering more before I leave for home because it is a good yarn and easy to work with. Stays together and does not twist when knitting with it. Have been using it since back in the 80s and it is a real nice yarn to knit with and all ages like the finished product.

Hello Walmart Team! I teach knitting on the Westside/Los Angles. This is a forever-wear yarn. Excellent for slippers. I’m knitting a slipper pattern that I knitted as a child 40 years ago, however, I required 2 or 3 ply Phentex.

The slippers are not as plush or as nice with 1 ply. You should offer this Phentex yarn in 2 or 3 ply. Anyone know where I can find 2 or 3 ply Phentex yarn? Happy Knitting.

Really like this, I bought pink to make dishcloths and it is really lovely to use, and a great colour. I only gave it 4 stars as the whole of the yarn on the oustide of the ball was grubby, I would have lost several metres to get to clean yarn.

But as it was for dishcloths it didn’t matter and I am really pleased with it otherwise. Searching for other projects to use it for now. !.

I love the color very much. It’s easy to work with. I do find the price a bit steep especially since it’s in U. S and I’m in Canada. Shipping cost and time took a fair bit to get here and again the shipping cost on top of purchase in U.

S makes it very expensive. The skeins are small,which I didn’t judge size correctly, so nit much you can do with it. I’ve made one pair if baby booties so far.

Very beautiful and lifts the mood. Super nice knit. It makes a project go by fast. The colors are so vibrant. It’s amazing what can be done with silk these days. It is also durable. I’ve got mutiple cakes of this yarn fiber.

It’s great to have a moment to slow down, sit down and just get lost in the colors. It lightens up Winter time. And it adds cheer to a wardrobe.

I love the look of the thread after it has been woven. I used a balanced twill pattern in lime and rose, and it changes color as the light moves across it. The feel is amazing!!! I have never woven with Tencel, and the first project surprised me with challenges.

The problem was not with the product, but with the weaver (broken selvage threads, uneven tension, poor warp winding) that cotton forgives. Tencel has given me the opportunity to up my game! Will buy more when the time comes.

I loved my service from the Woolery. My orders are always handled quickly and professionally. However. the Brassard Tencel has been a disappointment. The yarn shreds and I have too many broken threads.

I am an experienced weaver and have used Tencel almost exclusively for years. I don’t see any reasons for the yarn to shred. This is my first experience with Brassard. It was very difficult to make the warp due to the fussiness of the Tencel.

I asked other weavers about Brassard so possibly I have a bad batch. The blue one shreds and the green was way too fuzzy. I have had no problems with the gold. Thank you for letting me vent. Kathi Grupp.

The shopping experience was great!! Easy to order, and the yarn came right away. I am using it to make a scarf in double-weave pick-up – I am actually trying to reproduce something I saw recently online.

I am using a 10 dent reed, 40 threads to the inch, for a width of 8 inches. I have only woven a couple of inches but I am noticing that the thread is ‘felting’ and I have a fuzzy layer over the surface of the work – which I don’t like.

I did some double-weave with 5/2 pearl cotton last year – and it did not ‘felt’ like this – but it is a bit too thick to use for this project. I’d appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks, Pete (was not able to add photo).
