14 Best Years Subaru Outback (2022 Updated)

It fits better than I thought it might. It actually sits flush around the opening of the stereo.

I needed this for our Subaru Legacy to accompany our new JVC in dash unit with SirisusXM. Was easy to setup and works great! It matches our dash exactly and looks natural like it came with the car!!

Was even better than I had hoped for, very clean, onl difference is that screen on system now vertical when the OEM was sloped to match but that is a difference in the stereo, not the dash. The silver matches really well, not identical, but it blends nicely.

This was not an easy job at all. The exhaust system had 3 connections points that had to be taken off to drop the muffler to have access to mounting the hitch. Drilling the hole was okay and feeding the lugs, washers and nuts was okay.

The heat shield was a real problem as I cut it as shown in Utube videos but it was not enough and the shield was blocking one of the attachment bolts, so snip, snip and I got it in place. The rubber straps to reattach the exhaust system (3) were totally difficult to do especially the two on the muffler.

The tail pipe was okay. I had to lube the rubber fasteners and stretch the hell out of them to reattach. Finally got it. Looks great, works great. Oh year I was NOT on a life but on the ground.

I love this hitch. I was lucky that all the holes on my frame were pre-drilled and made the job very easy. The instructions were really faded so I couldn’t really use them, but I printed out my own from their website and everything went really smoothly.

Only took about an hour and could have done it quicker if I had an impact wrench to take out the old rusted bolts. I was also really lucky that my full size tire still fits up under the bed of the truck.

Just a note, I only had to take one bolt off the frame so the bumper stayed in place for me. The side bumper braces I had to take off so I could get to the bolts, but it was no problem putting them back on.

Arrived in a box – nice! Hitch had one pretty good scratch on it – no worries, touched it up right away with some Rustoleum. Install kit was intact – that’s the main problem I’ve seen with these. Watched a video on YouTube for installing a U-haul hitch (looks exactly like the Draw Tite) on my 2017 Honda CR-V, and was spot on.

Took the gal in the video about 15 mins, took me 2 hrs, but hey, I’m an amateur, don’t have a lift, used jack stands, and was operating upside down under the back of the vehicle the whole time. There’s like 6 steps involved in the install, and each has its “Challenges”.

Overall, a pretty easy install and now we’re set to haul bicycles around!.

So far just used to change sparkplugs. Got the torque spec and some hints about how to get to them. Very basic info and the electrical schematics were useful. PROS: Easy to use CONS: could have more details in the body section like how to troubleshoot the window regulators.

It does not cover special tools needed very well. Search with glossary cumbersome. Some pictures not very clear.

This manual covered two of my cars. Price was great. I used it for a repair already . It paid for itself. totally satisfied

These all weather rugged matts where an exact replacement for my old worn out set. The old ones held up like champs to 7 years of abuse. Just like champs though, one day they have to retire. I was so excited to find the exact Subaru weather mat on E-bay! Here’s to another 7 years!!.

I highly recommend these car mats. They fit my 2014 Outback perfectly & provide protection from all kinds of weather, spills. They are really well made and will likely outlive the car!

Great product! Fast shipping! Easy to follow instructions for self installation. I installed this lift on my 2017 Outback by myself but a second pair of hands would have been helpful for a few steps.

Total time for install was about 5 hours and this was the first lift I have ever installed. I had access to a car lift but could have been completed with a jack and jack stands. It has been installed now for a few weeks and do NOT have the 18 – 20 mph shutter that others speak of.

Overall- super happy I purchased this lift!! I do have one negative – the rear sway bar relocation brackets did not fit. I tried everything I could think of. swapping sides, swapping bolts, starting with top bolt first, starting with bottom bolt first, the pre drilled countersink holes were just a little off.

Luckily the bracket is made of aluminum and I had access to a drill press so I was able to shave a little material from each countersink hole so that the bolts would thread and still be flush without having “elongated ” holes.

Other than that all was great! I would recommend this kit to others and I have recommended to other outback owners.

Great addition to our 2016 Honda foreman. It was easy to install. The seat is comfortable and storage areas are nice. I love that I can take an extra gallon of fuel for longer trips. The open hand grips are nice, and the arm rest areas have plenty of room for adults.

Made with very durable materials. Comes with U-bolts, nuts & washers for fastening to your 4-wheeler rack. Does not include gas can. Very pleased with this product.

I had a Covercraft sunshade in my 2008 Explorer. It has lasted all these years, so I wanted one for my new car, and also bought one for my son’s new truck. They are thicker than other shades, and that seems to keep the heat out much better.

Also, protects the dash of the car from fading and cracking. You can’t beat the longevity, since I’ve had my first one for 14 years. There aren’t many products of any kind that have that type of performance.

Even though the cost maybe more than others, it is well worth the price. I highly recommend it.

This sunshade fits perfectly to my 2019 Ford Transit Connect XLT wagon. Seems to be of sturdy enough construction that if taken care of should last for more than a few seasons, but as I just got the product I can’t document that at this point (hence 4 stars-Quality).

Its design has enough wiggle room in its overall size so as to be able to get it around the rearview mirror and into place. The coverage is very close to the edges and top of the windshield so I’m pleased there as well.

Some have complained of the price but compared to what they have spent for their car I’m sure this is but a drop in the bucket. Pony up people and protect your investment. It’s money well spent.

This sunscreen is NOT your typical thing you buy in your local retail stores. When installed, it’s like a room darkening shade that protects your dash & leather seats. When you forget to install it, even for 5 mins, the interior temperature climbs dramatically.

As my better half & our daughter said, “hot seat!!” For the accidental senior moments, I also ordered 2 cooling seats that do the trick of pain relief.

Fit my 2020 outback touring just right. I only need to use half to fit all louse stuff in. It saved a large part of my storage area for other things. Pricey, but the car was too! Quality is real good and this should last like I expect the car to do.

It’s a well made, large compartmented, hold-all. fits the back of my Ascent very well. It also collapses down. The one con to it is it’s quite heavy all y itself. So, if you put something like groceries in it, you probably won’t be able to lift it and the groceries at the same time.

But, it’s heavy duty and I love it.

I should have bought this a while back. Good trunk organizer, made with quality materials. Folds flat.

Got it for my GC 2. 5rs just to do something to it and figured I had to to honor the ej251. The fit was actually good but not perfect. It came with gaskets and bolts however i had to reuse the stock nuts.

The sound is great even with the full stock exhaust. Only issue is that it reverberates at 2100rpm. Overall good for the price.

Its not super professional-grade like your major brand companies like borla or Megan Racing, but it gets you that subie rumble on your budget build subie! Fitment was okay. Didn’t have to fiddle with it too much to get it to fit.

Overall I’m satisfied with this purchase for the price. I’ve had them installed almost a month with no engine codes and no other issues. Even wrapped them up with exhaust-wrap to reduce enginebay heat (not shown in the picture).

Read so many mixed reviews, my new header slid in perfectly and bolted up to my cat perfectly. I couldnt be happier. I only have 300 hundred miles on it so far but I cant see me having any problems because of the no stress fit.

Perfect fit for a 2011 Subaru Outback. Ive pulled a 16 aluminum boat with this setup a few times with no issues. Be sure to give yourself a couple of hours to install. You will also need to buy a wiring harness for brake lights and turn signals.

Good price. Item not bent beyond usability. Hitch arrived on Thursday, well ahead of predicted Monday arrival. I did not need it till Monday. The pictures show that once again Fedex destroyed the box.

label shows shipped on the 21st. Received it today, the 23rd. Bottom of box came open during shipping. I wish Fedex would quit trying to destroy the package before it gets here. If there was anything else in the box it is gone.

I do not mind paying extra for shipping if it gets here in one piece and I know nothing is missing from pkg. Normal dings and paint chipping from steel item being packed in cardboard box. I guess we all know not to use Fedex but sometimes the shipper does not give us options.

This is a great replacement if you have a leaking or trashed ej25 in your Subaru. Do note that you will need to move sensors, wiring, injectors, intake and exhaust manifolds, left cam pulley, crank pulley, and all front belt accessories from your old engine to this one.

Basically, even though this is a complete ej20, you need to treat it as a long block to get it to work with your ej25 ECU and chassis side wiring harness.

The EJ203 Subaru Boxer engine I received is in great condition. It was very clean and I did not notice any damage except for a slight nick in the right plastic timing cover, though I can probably buff that out.

The alternator and power steering pump were in decent condition, but the A/C compressor was gritty and didn’t turn smoothly, probably because water got into it and corroded the internals. The accessories aren’t really important though for my purposes and are just included as a “bonus”, so I’m not going to zonk it for this.

I plan on rebuilding this engine, painting it to make it look great, and put it in my office as a decorative element :).

I called them up looking for a replacement motor for my 05 forester xt. I was told that the ej20x was a compatible match just needed to use some pieces from my previous engine. All excited i went bought the motor.

After being installed started hearing noises from motor. Drove for a few days noise went away. After 2. 5 weeks going into 3 engine started smoking and making loud noises. Engine was removed and returned.

Got a replacement which was installed and lasted basically 2 days. Driven once to Walmart left me stranded. Called them up for a replacement now I’m given the run around to get a replacement. I was even threatened with a taser the 1st time i went and the 2nd time if i did get out the shop my car would be removed with a forklift.

Please be aware buyers.

Hardware is fine, once I got all of it. Hefty (!) and well-made. Everything fits. Mechanism works nicely when new. The key falls out of the lock at the slightest provocation – that could be better. Instructions printed with photos of a black car, so all detail in the shadows is lost.

A few points: 1) A detail of the fascia clips on the side seams would be helpful. 2) The wiring harness plug is hidden fairly high against the wheel well, hard to see and reach. Persist. 3) The cutout in the fascia can be made leaving about 2″ intact on the entire forward edge and the hole needs to be a little further aft at the hitch block.

The handholes can be shaped to just suit your hands, reducing the open area and leaving the fascia stronger. A little trimming around the chain eyes and the fixture hole was needed. 4) The foam part supports the “step” surface of the fascia, and if you have access to a bandsaw it’s easy to just trim 1/4″ of the foam away from the rear face and leave the part usable.

I ultimately succeeded in installing the hitch, and it seems to work well; but there were a few quality control issues and a few design issues for my 2018 Outback that made the process more frustrating than it needed to be.

Missing from my packaging were two locking washers and two bolts of proper length. Sure, I could have procured others from a store or called up Stealth to have them send replacements, but was I really going to leave the back half of the car torn apart while I waited for them to ship replacement parts? So I made do with spare parts I had sitting around and got it installed.

It seems to work well and in fact performed well during its first heavy pull of a large trailer. But if I had to guess I would suspect that some things (quality control?) have suffered in the original company’s acquisition by a larger company.

I think I would still buy again because I like the design of the hitch; but I wasn’t totally satisfied with my purchase, either.

The hardware is all first rate. Items were well packaged and boxed and wrapped in an orderly fashion. The instructions were adequate. There’s room for improvement with respect to the images. Images looked to have been captured using a cell phone camera and then marked up with MS Paint program to overlay text and arrows.

The clarity (not enough contrast) made some images hard to tell what angle they were shot from and I was guessing a bit what I was looking at. One early on instruction indicated screws where only plastic fastener were present (this was on the fascia along the inside of the wheel well.

I jacked up the car and removed the wheel so I could poke my head underneath enough to be sure I wasn’t overlooking something. The amount of fascia I had to remove was what was minimally required to have access to the hitching mechanism.

An extra 1. 5″ on the driver’s side would have given more berth for a hand to reach up and work the latch (I have medium size paws). The latch mechanism itself is spring loaded and probably not something grandma is going to be able to operate; the knob has to be turned all the way to release/lock and requires me to be on my back partially underneath the rear bumper; it’s a bit awkward (I expect I’ll gain some facility with practice).

Overall, I love the end result. no visible hitch. I go what I was after. The text of the instructions are clear (again, the images not as much). I know a lot of time goes into writing good installation instructions and overall a very good job was done.

Folks claiming to have done this under two hours. I’ve a message for you, quit your day job and go work for a trailer-hitch shop; you missed your calling. It took me several hours. If I was installing another one this weekend I could do it in half the time but now way under two hours.

I purchased this complete brake kit in early July. When it arrived in three separate shipments (1 from warehouse, 2 drop shipped from manufacturer) I unpacked it to begin installation. That’s where the caliper problems began.

Upon initial inspection the rear calipers were identical. I had been supplied with two left side rear calipers. The bleeder valve holes on the rear calipers had been redrilled then tapped only near the very bottom, too deeply for the threads to hold any bleeder valve more than loosely finger tight.

Both rear and front calipers had media blast surface mottling on the entire banjo fitting and copper seal washer mating surface instead of a flat smooth mating surface. That problem was compounded by the powder coating straying onto the mating surfaces as well.

Having access to a good machine shop at work allowed me to fix these problems (except the missing right side rear caliper) but if you don’t have access you will spend a lot to get the calipers into a usable condition and this particular caliper set seems to be in very short supply currently.

This is the second vehicle I have installed the PowerStop rotors and pads on, and those parts are fantastic for a street cruiser. But the powder coated calipers are NOT a quality product and I couldn’t recommend them to an enemy.

The title says it all. If you’ve never done brakes before and you’re thinking about it, that means you have the balls to do it. So do it. It really isn’t complicated – there are more than a few videos on YouTube and lots of reviews actually give instructions too.

I won’t bore you with that stuff. The brakes do everything they say they do. I replaced my front brakes with this company first and they were excellent. So when it was time for the back there was no shopping no looking no review reading just went back to the same company and ordered the same set for the back.

Here’s a tip or two: After the tire is off really look at everything 1st – take pictures. Specifically, •Take a picture of the bolt/s and where they go before you take them off. •Take a picture of the brake pads and how they fit into the bracket that bolts to the caliper before you take that assembly apart.

•Take a picture of the little metal clips seated in the bracket that holds the pads before you remove them, then putting the new ones back in will be much easier. > you’ll need a longer then normal breaking bar to loosen the caliper bolts/nuts.

Unless you’re Hercules 🙂 > you’ll need a 2lb short-handle sledge hammer – & the cojones to use it. >make sure you have a C clamp (or other) to push the piston all the way back into the caliper. It needs to be fully open to get it over the thickness of new pads.

>>OPEN THE LID TO THE BREAK FLUID Reservoir under the hood. BEFORE using the clamp!!!!! Then turn the clamp SLOWLY- allowing time for the fluid to move back through the break line as you push the piston back into the housing.

>Do not let the caliper dangle (hang) by the break line. Secure it up so there’s no chance of falling or getting in the way of the rest of the repair. >>”Seating” the new Disc: You do Not need to put the tire back on to tighten the lugs to “seat” the new Disc.

Just use 3 lugs, spaced – tighten them down firmly to “Seat” the disc on the hub – then reassemble the pads and caliper – Then loosen/remove the lugs, install tire retighten :0) > oh there is a product you can buy so 60-80,000 miles later you can get that disc back off with far less hammering.

**for me all the extra time was spent using the sledgehammer and cleaning everything with a grinder with the wire brush attachment. (I’m a bit ocd) If the discs came off easily and no cleaning maybe 1.

5/2 hours. But including getting all your tools ready, jacking your truck up/jack stands then putting all your stuff away – it’s def an afternoon kind-a thing. I own a floor jack & stands, a 175psi compressor- I saved time with the lugs off/on & a good jack speeds things up too.

Cleaning the rust and grim with a grinder also sped things up a bit. All of this being done by hand(?) you’ll definitely need 4/5 hours.

Impressed with the overall quality of the product. Pieces were package well and all parts labeled clearly. Pieces/parts fit perfectly on my 2018 Wrangler JK. I was quoted over 500. 00 dollars from a reputable service center to have factory brakes installed back on the Jeep, but after doing a little research on looking for something better, then the factory style brakes to slow down the 35×12.

5 tires I found this product. Only issue I had was trying to find a road to do the break in of the ceramic shoes on the rotors. Once that was complete and the brake fluid was completely drained and replaced with new fluid, you could tell the difference right away from the factory shoes.

Stopping is so much more graceful. I fully recommend this product to anyone considering on changing out their factory rotors and shoes. Overall install was a little over 2 hours, and that was due to the previous tire shop putting my lugs on so tight it took two people with a breaker bar to loosen the wheels.
