20 Best Yoga Mat Cleaners (2022 Updated)

I paid too much for glorified water and vinegar- a cleaning staple in my home. The way the product was described made it seem like a complicated solution that was formulated specifically for rubber yoga mats, so I thought I should have it to take care of my mat.

However, I noticed the package smelled like vinegar (the bottle leaked, so I ended up with only about half a bottle of solution) and immediately checked the ingredients to find I could easily make the solution at home.

In fact, the packaging on my mat gave me a recipe to make a cleaning solution that would work. Don’t waste your money.

This yoga mat cleaner was amazing. It got off everything and made my yoga, and thick rubber gym mats look new. The scent was very very light and it was easy to use. It is made with oils, but did not stain my mats at all.

It has directions for 3 different cleaning needs, which I found VERY useful for some of my really dirty thick rubber gym mats. I would recommend this product to others. It is in a plastic spray bottle perfectly sized to take with you to yoga class or the gym and be able to clean your mats right after your workouts.

Works great. Pleasant scent that doesn’t hang around too long. I find a good yoga spray is essential to upkeep my yoga mat and yoga blocks and keep me feeling healthy after a workout with the sniffles.

I would recommend this product to a friend, even who has multiple chemical sensitivity, like me! It has great smell! I would not recommend this product to a friend, if, for eliminating manufacturing odor! No matter how much I used spray to wipe every inch many times, obviously the yoga mat has to go through many mounths on it’s own, to loosen-up in it’s odor.

Came super fast and shipped to Canada! So happy I found this shop on etsy. Have been despairing that I couldn’t get this spray up in canada because none of the sites I saw this advertised on shipped to Canada.

This was a great and smooth transaction. The spray smells fantastic and my mat hasn’t smelled this good in years!.

After putting this on my mat and working out with a sports bra and shorts, I had a skin rash allergic reaction all over my tummy, back, legs, and arms. I’ve used witchhazel on my skin no problem, so I think it’s from some of the essential oils? It went away after a couple days, and I gave this cleaner to my friend who has less sensitive skin than me.

She is happy with it and it really did smell lovely. I wish it worked out, but I do not recommend for folks with extra sensitive skin.

I love this yoga mat cleaner! It smells so good, I use it after yoga every time to cleanse my mat! This would be a great gift for a yogi friend. The cap of the bottle was cracked when I opened the package but that was not a big deal to me at all, I don’t travel with it so I don’t technically need to the lid.

Overall I am SO happy with this product!!.

As a young woman who has aged with practicing yoga, a mat is a very special and intimate thing. I have been practicing for 25 years and had the same mat for 15. And the rainbow? Well, it has so much meaning to my life and lifestyle it seemed like the absolute perfect fit. The one thing that was a bit uncomfortable was using it brand new, the smell of the paint on the mat was strong especially when your face is on it in poses like child’s pose.

Within a month and washing it down after every practice that smell went away. The foam cleaner is a bit hard to use on the mat, so I gave it to a friend and am sticking with a natural cleaner at the studio I attend.

Overall, I am over the rainbow (and moon) about my new best daily supportive friend!.

Hi I have bought so many matts from you (at least 20) and they are always great. The best actually. Recently I purchased two. I took them on a trip with me (never opened them because I assumed they would be amazing because they always are).

When I opened them (on the trip thy had white streaks and were damaged in really bad condition and not fixable) I used them on the trip and then threw them out. I’m letting you know because they are always great and I know you really take great pride and care with your products.

It’s all ok I just want you to know what happened.

I was happy when Liforme released this cleaner because I was always looking for solutions to clean my mat. They are so beautiful that you always want to keep them in good conditions! This product is great and I’m now confident that I’m not destroying my mat with other products.

On top of that, is a environmental friendly, which is always a concern. You can apply it very easily, the smell is amazing and you feel that your mat is really clean afterwards!.

I do a lot of barre and pilates exercises and I sweat all over my yoga mat every time I work out. The only cleaning solution I could think of is Mrs. Meyer’s all-purpose cleaner but it’s difficult to spread on the mat and I end up missing spots.

Austra’s yoga mat cleaner makes it easier to give my mat a deep clean, it dries quickly and the scent is lovely without being overpowering. The bottle is small, which is great for storage and travel, though I have a feeling I’ll be going through it rather quickly.

All in all, this is a fantastic new addition to my subscription box!.

I have multiple reasons to like this product, but my first is that I have no problem reading and understanding the short ingredient list- all natural products, reasonable inclusion in the product to do everything it says that it does! This has a lovely lavender scent with a hint of tea tree and was very effective with minimal effort to not only clean my mat but leave it in great shape afterwards, not sticky or with any extra residue.

This comes with an included cloth that feels a bit like a cross between terrycloth and microfiber, and I love that I can use it a few times and not worry about the cleaning product coming in contact with my hands or staying in the fabric of the cloth until I use it again.

I tried both spraying the product onto the cloth itself as directed and also directly onto my mat, thinking maybe it wouldn’t be effective enough if it soaked into the cloth. Using it as directed produced exactly the result I was after, and it only takes a few sprays so I can see this bottle lasting me a little while.

Spraying it directly onto the mat took a little longer to dry and is sort of a waste of product as spraying it on the cloth seems to make it go further. I cannot think of anything I dislike about this product and it is a great alternative to multiple mat cleaners I have seen that not only do not include a towel but list ingredients that I cannot pronounce, so I don’t want them on my hands or on my mat! I received this product at a discount but my honest review is my own- I try hard to make my reviews as useful as possible for another possible consumer.

I am happy with this product and will definitely repurchase it when I have used it all up- my neighbors in yoga class have observed the awesomeness and ask to use it, so this may not last as long as I had hoped!.

I bought the lavender/eucalyptus flavor – it has a nice, subtle scent, and so far my cork mat is staying very fresh as I spray after use, but I have only used the mat a few times, so it is hard to say exactly what effect the spray is having.

I have to say that the bottle feels very high quality, and a very consistent and satisfying spray function. I am taking one star off because I can tell the solution is not going to last very long – I practice 3-4 times per week, and if I spray my mat down after every class my bottle will probably be empty in 6 or 7 weeks.

I am currently trying to decide whether it is worth purchasing a refill, or if I add a less expensive solution and continue using the bottle.

I had waited a couple of years to save up for my purchase. When I first ordered my mat I was so distracted by the beautiful designs that I didn’t observe the recommendations as to which mat is appropriate for hot yoga.

I chose a beautiful mat that was perfect for non heated yoga. I however practice hot yoga. 😆 after slipping and sliding as I am a very sweaty girl I reached out to Yoloha. Even though I had used the mat and it had been a time since I purchased my mat they exchanged it with a brand new unity mat.

Debated between this size and the larger sized spray bottle. Chose this one because I’d not used the product before. Has a very pleasant, light smell (but then I really love the scent of lavender anyway).

The spray is a very fine mist, so not overwhelming, and little bit goes a long way> Be sure to use the damp towel (as suggested) to gently wipe it into the mat. I think this size bottle will last a long time.

Wish it also came in a refill bottle rather than having to buy a whole new bottle when I finish this one. Took a little bit for me to figure out how to get it to spray, even though there were little icons on the sides of the spray head.

You just need to push the button in, no twisting or anything else. Very simple. Probably why it took me so long, I was making it much more “complex”. Purchased this after I had received my Native cork/rubber mat (first cork mat, always used Manduka in the past).

The mat did have an odor, not very strong, but still a slight odor and after only two separate applications of this cleaner the slight odor was gone, replaced by a faint lavender scent.

Very easy to use no after how dirty your mat is. Smells great and fresh, and the mat really is stickier than before I cleaned it.

Smells fresh and lemon-y and works like a charm. Definitely prefer this to the plain mat disinfectant that my local yoga studio provides for student use, which smells unpleasantly vinegar-y. This is a great yoga mat cleanser. I love the smell and how well it cleans the mat. The scent stays on the mat for a while afterwards, too. It is just a light lavender scent nothing too strong. I would buy this and recommend it to friends and family.

I loved the awesome microfiber towel that comes with it for scrubbing of the mat. It honestly gets my mat cleaner than anything else I have used to date. The nozzle is easy to spray and has a great stream of cleaner spray out with each squeeze.

The bottle also lasts a while so you wont be running out all the time since it is 8 ounces. You will get several cleanings out of each bottle.

This product is far superior to the other popular one I was using. I like the design and quality of the sturdy handle/sprayer. It’s so much easier to spray the whole mate with this kind of spray nozzle with the trigger.

I bought the Orange Guava and love that smell. It does a good job at cleaning of foot prints on my light orange mat. I feel my mat is sanitized by the oils and I like it. And finally it keeps the mat sticky in a good way to grip the mat easier while doing poses.

The scent is great! Bottle says to use about 20 sprays?! No way that would soak up my mat. Only needs 3-4 max sprays to wipe clean. Might try another brand in order to find a spray that doesn’t leave residue.

This spray smells great! It’s refreshing when I open up my yoga mat. My mat is a white microsuede texture and there has been no discoloration or changes in the feel of the mat. I also used this in my gym shoes and they retained the smell.

Nothing special, I assume it does what it claims to do. It has a nice scent and doesn’t leave my mat sticky or tacky feeling after use. I clean my mat every couple days depending on how sweaty I get after use.

I’m someone who is very sensitive to scents. I can’t handle chemical smells, & can’t handle strong perfume smells. This spray does have a scent, but it is very soft, & light, & does not linger for long.

It does not give me a headache, & I like the soft scent, & that it disappears quickly. Therefore, I’m back to order more!.

I have the full lavender version and love it. It’s so versatile and can be used on the variety of mats I own. It is light and fresh and refills and be purchased to fill the bottle again.

I love the Natural Rubber Mat Wash for my eKo mat. Build up from sweat and oil can actually make the eKo mat slick, so I find that a quick spritz of the Natural Rubber Mat Wash is great for keeping my mat grippy and fresh.

Also, the size is perfect for travel. This bottle fits perfectly into the smaller pocket in my Go Light mat carrier.

The mat wash did it’s job. My yoga mats are clean again and now I can keep them clean. I used a microfiber cloth to wipe the mat and it works pretty good but does get bunched/rolled up making it harder to cover much area so it took longer than I expected to wipe the mat.

Interested to hear what type of cloth others use.

I got this pack of sprays from my sister as a gift and these are great! I highly recommend these sprays! I really like that I got a pack with various scents. They smell wonderful. Like another reviewer said, they really DO clean your mat.

The package also came with a little card advising me to email Barbara and I learned even a few more tips! I also like that the scents aren’t overwhelming. One of my biggest concerns was that I wanted something to clean my mats (gently) but I didn’t want to be in my next practice with my head on my mat and not being able to concentrate because the scent would be overwhelming.

I took one of these to work and keep the rest in my yoga room. The first time I used it with the included cloth, so much brown gunk came off the mat I was shocked. I don’t do hot yoga, this was just everyday yoga and skin gunk.

I was previously using Manduka and Gaiam mat cleaners so I was shocked to see so much brown come off the mat. I will definitely keep using these and give them as gifts. I think they smell great. They make my house and office smell like a spa.

Love the yoga mat cleaner. I over looked cleaning my yoga mat this product left my mat less slippery and smeling fresh like new. The oil from my hands and body left my mat feeling gritty this gave a new feeling to my mat.

Refreshing, effective and light. This yoga mat cleaner is gentle yet Very effective. In my experience it does not leave any residue or make my mat slippery. It has a wonderful scent and I love the fact that it’s cruelty free.

I bought the Yoga Mat Detox, Calming Citrus quite a while ago. I just pulled it out again after not using for a while (I was using towels on my mat, and neglected mat care). I almost suspect I was hoarding this on some level! I love the scent.

I am a big fan of citrus smells, and was leary one could be calming. This mat spray is so relaxing! Perfect after my practice to calm down to meditate. I went to Amazon to order more and couldn’t find the Calming Citrus.

The labels have changed since I got the first one so I assumed they discontinued it. The bottle I did order (Uplifting Eucalyptus, smells awesome and clean!) had a card that me to the website. I was so excited Calming Citrus is here and to discover their other products!.

This is a great yoga mat spray! The citrus scent is a little sweet – like an orange hard candy? I love the smell! It doesn’t leave a residue and came with a microfiber cleaning cloth as well!

I don’t have enough nice things to say about it- the scent is soothing, but bright. It’s doesn’t leave a nasty residue like some others I have tried. After one use my mat no longer smelt like my yoga practice.

Can’t beat the price either. I would recommend it to anyone.

I have used many hand sanitisers but this is by far the BEST. I keep one in my handbag, one in the glove compartment of the car for when I fill up the car at the servo, one on my desk at work. I bought the huge bottle to refill the small metal bottles (the metal bottle is a fantastic idea) virtually indestructible.

The fragrance is really pleasant without being overpowering. There is no sticky residue left on your hands after use. You might have guessed. I absolutely love this hand sanitiser.

Bondi Wash hand spray is the best. (I have used a lot of other brands) The scent is lovely & not overpowering. It doesn’t leave any sticky residue. When using it out & about you can spray it on your hands without worrying about offending people with a strong scent.

I carry the small bottle with me wherever I go & I just refill it with the larger size bottle.

Love the Hand Spray!! So good to know it sanitises and kills 99. 99% of germs without nasty chemicals and it doesn’t dry out my hands or leave them feeling sticky. The Tasmanian Pepper & Lavender scent is gorgeous! Have just ordered other Bondi Wash products and can’t wait to try them!!.
