20 Best Youth Lacrosse Cleats (2022 Updated)

My 11-year-old son (competitive soccer player) has owned a few pairs of Puma Ultra 2. x’s over the past two years. His feet require extra room in the toe box, and these have done the trick nicely. Light shoes with good touch.

The performance and fit of the shoes has been great! That said, as one other commenter mentioned, the soleplates do seem to pull apart from the shoe, and sooner than they should. I’ve Gorilla Glued them back in place a few times and that gets some additional life out of things.

Admittedly, my son always burns through athletic shoes (faster than his sibling and friends), so I don’t totally blame Puma for this issue. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase of these cleats. However, in my experience, the longevity is questionable.

This boot fits true to size. I’m a US9. 5 and it fit perfectly. It was snug but not overly so. Grip on the outsole is perfectly fine as to be expected. Previous to these boots I’ve been using a pair of very old Adidas boots made from leather but still in excellent condition as I am only a casual football player.

On comparison, I was expecting these Puma boots to somehow blow them out of the water. They didn’t. Yes, the upper is much better in fit and it is much lighter and good for speed. With my Adidas pair, the tongue would always slide to one side which was an ongoing issue.

But overall, the Puma pair, although very good, does not warrant the high price tag. I’d recommend these boots but only if you can get them at a discount.

I was very pleased with how they felt. They have great padding on the inside heel and front/side area making then really comfortable. I really liked the ankle support they have making my foot feel like it’s in place.

The outer part of the entire shoe was thick like which is a good thing when it comes to soccer. And while using them the studs at the botten felt ingredible and so strong. Very durable truly a great purchase.

These are great lows for a more agile player. The single piece with no tongue is comfortable and not too tough to put on. My son used them for baseball and so far, so good. The price was incredible and they look cool too.

Truth be told I wasn’t completely satisfied with them in the store but due to limited sizes and time I did what any guy would do and settled. Threw them in for the first game, pretty tough to get them on I might add but man like Tony the Tiger says they’re grrreat.

They almost feel like you’re wearing a brand new pair of socks which is arguably the second best thing in the world(first is Step Brothers).

I bought these cleats because they looked good and I had heard some good reviews. New Balance seems to be one of the leaders in lax cleats right now. I ordered an 8. 5 because that is what I have always worn.

I tried them on out of the box and they were very comfortable. However, after my first game, my toes hurt incredibly bad and my toenail was bruised. Now I’m stuck with these cleats with no options of fixing this.

I would suggest ordering up a half size because they are nice cleats but maybe a bit tight on the toes.

My son has a brick of a foot. big and wide! At 15 he is finally growing into his feet! He has played LaX since he was 3 so weve had our history with cleats!! He has worn multiple brands and styles through the years, but he keeps coming back to these! This is his 3rd pair of these Paul Rabil cleats and they are a favorite! Very good looking, well made and allow his foot to move without the pressures and constant aches with other cleats!.

Bought these men’s cleats for my daughter as warrior doesn’t have a great selection for women. She loves the room in the toe box as some women’s cleats fit tighter. This is our 3rd pair of warrior cleats.

They are true to size.

It is isn’t a bad cleat. The traction needed for any player is there and the cleat itself is very good. The issue is that while the cleat does fit true to size in length, it’s very tight around the ball of your foot and will pinch.

These lacrosse cleats make great football cleats on turf fields and grass fields. Usually durable and lasts one football season. Hard to come buy on other sites. Had to reinforce while waiting on second pair to arrive.

The ONLY reason this shoe cannot get 5 stars is that it is causing a BIG blister on the back of the ankle across Achilles tendon. Changing socks has not helped. Can only wear them with blister pad protection.

It is designed for narrow feet and it is a perfect shoe (except for the blistering)!.

The traction, the look and the tight secure feel are great. The shoe feels incredibly secure around your foot. Definitely improved from the previous 2 models. However, breaking this shoe in is very difficult.

Took me a long time and is very painful since the shoe is so narrow. I don’t recommend this if you have very wide feet or just get a size larger. But if you don’t then this is a great buy, just have to deal with some pain for a week or two.

I bought these cleats and was slightly hesitant. However, when the cleats came, I fell in love with them. I don’t know why people say these cleats are horrible, they are AMAZING and I mean it These are the best lacrosse cleats I have ever worn.

I would definitely go up one size but these cleats are perfect if you have wide feet. They are super soft and comfortable. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!.

A little bit straight at the beginning but now it’s just awesome, good comfort and grip. Do not tighten toot much your laces. These one integrated to the shoes, offer a really good adaptation and flexibility in running cut.

My 16 YO son has had two pairs of these, he loved how comfortable they were. However both pairs fell apart after 3 months of use. I bought the second pair because I couldn’t find any lacrosse cleats in his size and knew he liked them, and thought maybe the first pair was a lemon pair.

Nope, it must be the design. Both pairs failed at the same points: where the laces attached at the bottom three anchor points of the cleat, it failed. It’s a shame, he said they were really comfortable.

Have looked at other reviews and there are several that have had the same problem. Can’t attach pic.

I play ultimate frisbee year-round, and have loved these cleats since getting them earlier this year. They take almost no break in, are super comfortable, easy to put on and take off and the cleat pattern is really well suited for what I need (closest to lacrosse or a football WR movements).

That being said, the durability is really terrible given the price tag (to be clear, I will be getting another pair. everything else outweighs this concern, but it is frustrating). I use these for a two hour practice 3 or 4 times a week regularly, as well as tournaments on the weekends, and within a few months the strap holding the laces at the bottom of the lace pattern snapped.

Okay, no big deal, I can cut new holes for the laces. About a month later (6ish months total of use) the real problem developed, the shoe just separated itself from the plastic sole on the inside of the ball of my foot, leaving a huge hole next to my big toe on both shoes.

I’ve been taping them back together for a few weeks but it just isn’t worth it anymore. Great cleat! But please beef up that area.

I originally left a review titled “Love ’em” back in the Spring of 2021. I need to update and rename my review to “Hate ’em”. I originally thought these were an upgrade to the v2 Freezes but they are definitely a downgrade.

The durability of these v3s is non-existent, even with normal use. The little elastic bands at the end of the laces broke, then the strap holding the lace to the shoe (towards the toe) broke, causing the laces to tie much tighter/longer creating ankle pain, rendering the cleat useless now.

For a cleat that costs over $100, the quality/durability does not match. I have gone back to my old Freeze v2 backup pair of cleats now but those won’t last much longer either based on history (for ex, the loops that you pull the laces tight through have already snapped off and the soles are starting to separate from the shoe after only a couple months).

Come on NB, the Freeze cleats have been my favorite for years but you need to improve your quality/durability. I don’t want to switch to Warrior Lacrosse cleats if I don’t have to.

I loved these cleats for the one season they lasted for. They didn’t take too long to break in, formed nicely to my feet and, provided good traction. I am very disappointed in the way they held up, after my 3 month lacrosse season the spikes were half the size they were originally.

With these being on the more expensive side, I was very cautious with wearing them on cement so I could get enough use out of them that would merit the price. These were one of my larger splurges as a student who bought them myself and I sadly will have to be buying a new pair of cleats next season due to the spikes now varying from 1/4”-1/2” long.

I am a full supporter of nike from my socks, to my workout clothing, to my running shoes so I am familiar with the overall quality of the brand and I had very high expectations for these cleats but sadly they weren’t fulfilled.

These are quite possibly the best Nike cleats I’ve ever worn. I play on artificial football turf and they’re great. They’re a little wider and have the ‘sock-like’ fit at the right places and it isn’t inhibiting to the ankle at all.

The cleats on the plate themselves are positioned perfectly for outstanding traction in every direction. A nice detail is the Flywire fit so the shoe spreads the pressure from the shoelaces around the whole mid foot.

I love these cleats. The traction on them is nuts. planting and moving side to side playing defense is great. When i first got them they took a while to break in. The outsides of my feet would get a very sharp pain down the sides, like the cleat was trying to push up where my foot is supposed to be down.

I would have to take the cleats off half way through the game and let my feet relax. I finally broke them in after playing in the twice a week for about 3 weeks and now theyre my favorite cleats ever.

A trick I used to break them in is I took them off and pressed down on the outsides of the midsole. So Other than the long break in time, amazing lacrosse specific cleats!.

I do not know why they changed the original MC Highlight to these! These have NO ankle support! It’s basically like a stretchy sock fabric that is hard to get on! Also the heel has extra room even though the toe fit fine & does not sit on the foot like it should.

Very uncomfortable and offer no support. Please go back to the originals.

So im using these for paintball. They are amazing! They are true to size! They are difficult to put on and take off but once you get them loose and tight they are like idk great. I was shot up in the foot with red paint and they simply wiped off.

I also noticed as you use them they clean themselves. The cleat teeth grip. I have never lost my footing. They stick. Im 150 and 5/7. I would like to think not to many people are faster then me. If your fast these will make you faster.

I love the high tops. They protect the ankle so well. Only down side is after using them for 10 hours straight my feet are a little sore but I dont think any shoe can protect that much. Most cleats i have seen at a higher price are basically throw aways.

I mean if you have a sponcer who is willing to give you cleats each time they brake your good. This is the best budget new cleat that seems like will last for years to come. I got another pair off my friend who ordered a half size to small for a tighter fit.

Don’t do that! They were to small for him. Only thing I wish is that people can order two different sizes. Most people don’t know one foot is slightly smaller then the other. Like brest haha. I was just fit at Redwing when they told me that.

I had no idea for 31 years of my life.

My family visited our local Academy in Round Rock, TX in search of football cleats for our two sons. We were able to find one pair of green Under Armour cleats for our youngest son but our oldest son couldn’t find the color he wanted.

The sales associate was very helpful and had our son try on the shoe he wanted just to make sure we ordered the correct size online. He went above and beyond by searching all the shelves just to find the correct size of Under Armour™ Boys’ Highlight RM Junior Football Cleats.

After we confirmed the size he needed, we went online and ordered the exact color our son wanted. We placed the order on a Thursday morning and the shoes were sitting on our front porch by the next morning! I wish I could remember the young man’s name from the Round Rock store because he did a fantastic job!.

I bought these as they said good for box lacrosse and turf. Sadly my son plays on a lot of cement for box lacrosse so the shoe will not be worn. Also paid $210 in Canadian dollars for what was a $80 shoe.

Lesson learned!.

I love these. I was looking for ankle height turfs that fit more like sneakers and these worked perfectly. I have no issues with these cleats and highly recommend them.

My daughter says these are very comfortable and great for playing on turf.

I really hope I got a defective pair because the pair I received rates far below any previous pair I have purchased. A number of huge issues with the cleats, 1. The cleats are not hard rubber molds like prior years.

They are some kind of plastic. The plastic instantly wears down. Mine are near nubs after only a couple weeks use. 2. When I put on the cleats for the first time, I nearly rolled my ankle just standing up.

The cleats were bending due to the plastic molds and I was actually wobbling when taking a step. 3. Because the cleat molds are plastic, they don’t dig into the ground. I slipped/skidded more than a few times in games.

I used these shoes for several games to see if they would get better. Unfortunately it has not. I’m very disappointed in the quality of this shoe. It’s almost a safety hazard.

Have always only ever used NEW BALANCE TURFS for our youth travel baseball INDOOR training facility. Love the comfort but lately the craftsmanship is subpar. Purchased a pair and the part of the sole that rolls up onto the front of the toe had peeled away almost immediately.

We went through the return process and once we were Refunded our money we purchased another pair. 3 wears (lass than 1 week) after receiving them, the same exact thing happened. I’m not sure if they have recently changed their glue or they’ve just lost their touch but this isn’t acceptable.

We have literally owned over 20 pairs of these and this just started happening. I’m moving to a different brand because the return process is too long and arduous to even bother and I don’t have the time to worry about brand new items falling apart.

I loved the look of these low top cleats for my son. We bought these for my son at the beginning of this years little league season and just after the second game I noticed one cleat on each shoe had totally worn down to wear you could see it was hollow inside and other individual cleats had worn down quite a bit, and he had not worn them to practice prior to the first game, so not much use to them at all.

Now that we are at the end of the regular season and into All Star season these are the most worn down cleats we have ever owned across both shoes. Generally, if his foot still fits, he can get more than one season out of his cleats.

Sadly, as much as I loved the look, this experience has turned us away from New Balance cleats. This was the most I had ever paid for cleats for him, and I feel like he needs a new pair to finish out the All Star tournament.

My daughter has had these cleats for going on 2. 5 years now. When she finally needed a new pair, she didn’t even want to consider a different pair. Durable, lightweight, comfortable and plenty of ankle support.

She’s a fan! Well worth the cost because did I mention her first pair lasted over 2 years??!!!.

These didn’t make it 3 months on the field. He transitioned to indoor soccer season, so just started using the outdoor ones again a couple of months ago. So disappointed. Tonight at practice, the bottom completely came off—totally separated from the main part of the shoe.

I know these are on the cheaper side when it comes to cleats, but goodness! They should’ve lasted longer than they did. And of course, can’t return them.

These cleats are NICE! Great quality and my daughter has had no problems adjusting to them (being this is her first time playing soccer). I don’t think many people know that this line is at Target and is by Puma.

I know I didn’t until I looked on a whim! Very affordable. Not too stiff. I like how many spikes are on the bottom of the shoe. I know that sounds weird, but I figured more would be better for stability reasons.

I would say they run a bit small, so get a size or two larger to allow space for the soccer socks and such. My daughter wears a 10 in Sketchers tennis shoes and I purchased a size 12 in these. which has been perfect.

was used for a little over a year can’t use it anymore the quality is bad. Only used it for a couple of seasons which in total is only like 4 months and its falling apart. I take pretty good care of my sons shoes so not sure why it is like this.

Inside sole has a hole in one side of the shoe and all around both shoes it looks like it will be falling off the bottoms soon. Will not be buying this brand again.

Got these for my son. Pretty basic mid-ankle cleat. Clean look, comfortable fit, reasonable price. I”ve had several good experiences with warrior cleats. First product I look at when I”m in the market.

My grandson was experiencing ankle pain after games until we got these cleats. He is so happy that he can pivot, run and has good traction. Love them and love Sportstop.

The cleats were exactly as advertised. Fit our son perfectly. Our son has been playing lacrosse for 3 years and he loves Warrior cleats.

Good fit but black rubber turf spikes started coming off after one practice

Great prices and quick fulfillment. My daughter loves them. Has been breaking them in every night before her tournament. She does say they are a little snug width wise so we are going to buy shoe stretchers and hope that helps.

Gorgeous shoes. Need to be worn more to say if they are comfortable. Look very narrow. 14 year-old daughter is wearing a men’s size 8 on her ladies size 9.5 feet. She says they fit.

Great shoes so far. Work really well. Really excited to use them in game and can’t wait for the season.

I play both midfield and also long pole midfield as well as substituting for defense I generally don’t like the higher ankle style cleats just based on the look but also because I prefer my ankle to be a slightly more pivotable nature so I can change directions quickly even so, with feet planted, and the rightful flow, The pattern of these cleats make it very exceptional.

Great shoe! We got the navy and the color is nice. They just got super muddy this last weekend and cleaned easily with just a good wipe. I was concerned as they have more of a fabric base than our past cleats but it was not an issue.

In fact I love how they were soft, flexible and ready to go when my daughter put them on. No need to break-in like some of her past cleats. They have a great toe on them which is great for pitchers. Will totally purchase again!.

This is the 2nd pair of these cleats we’ve purchased for my daughter and she loves them. The spikes are not as long as some other brands which make them preferred by my 14 year old. She pitches and plays SS and these cleats do not get hung in dirt when she plays in the field or sliding into a bag.

There are very few cleats that offer a pitching toe for pitchers and we have gone through more than we care to count through the years. This cleat has handled the wear and tear of playing select softball in the summer so we ordered another pair for high school.

They are white and yes they turn orange due to the dirt but this is the first cleat (including other Mizuno shoes) that has held up to pitching and playing every weekend during the summer. Again the spikes are not as long or thick as others so we don’t walk on pavement when given the option but the field performance is great.

This is the only cleat my 14 year old daughter will wear and now my 11 year old is in love with them also. They both pitch and play shortstop and they are very durable. One has an average width foot and laces them regular and the other has a narrow foot and uses the extra eyelets to make the shoe fit tighter on her foot.

Got these for my 11 yr old son. He loved them, said they were more comfortable than his New Balances. Unfortunately, the outside of the toe area wore through in a month of practicing 3x a week. They’d be awesome shoes if the had a reinforced hard plastic on the toe.

I’m obviously not buying a new pair every month, had to resort to taking a red sharpie to them to cover the exposed white once the exterior color wore off.

After 2 practices and 1 tournament, the tread on the shoes is separating. My son only wears his turf shoes or cleats on the field. Not on the sidewalks, parking lots and so on. we are careful to help his shoes last.

These had good reviews, so we bought them. They did fit well, breath well and my son liked them. But to have to spend another $50+ on more shoes after such limited use is rather irritating.

My son wear size 13K. He fit size 1.5Y. He has slim feet. So if chubby feet probably need 2Y. Bought it for indoor practice/training. I dunno how it does on the field yet.

Everyone is different for my grandson they are excellent, probably not good for everyone. The problem we have is that he is just in Half size and There’s only a few to pick from that’s disappointing maybe you can offer more soon.

Bought these recently for my childs PE lessons and they really enjoy them. Really comfortable pair and haven’t heard her moan about sore feet.
