20 Best Youth Offense Football (2022 Updated)

Originally purchased traditional football, but it was so hard. Heard about this version that is softer for youth and similar to the ball used in flag football. I highly recommend, however the description on the Dick’s site is misleading.

There is a 9. 99 version that is mini, but the 11. 99 version is pee wee/ junior (details and photos also indicate mini). After contacting customer service, I verified size and ordered. Perfect for my 8 year old and he can use for quite a while.

My 10 y. o. son got this with his birthday money. He loves it. Takes it to school everyday and all the kids love playing football with it/him at recess. Then he gets home and wants to play more! It has really enhanced his understanding of how “plays” happen when he is watching games.

Almost always has it in hand. Be warned, this is an inflatable ball, but with a Nerf-like exterior, so its not very resilient. It has some minor exterior damage and its only been a couple weeks. Nothing crazy though, especially for the heavy use its gotten.

Bought this for my two year old nephew for Christmas. He loved it the moment he got it. Perfect size for him to carry around. Deflate it a bit and it’s soft enough that you don’t need to worry about it damaging anything.

The feel of this football is amazing and you can instantly tell that it was well made. The grip is amazing and you don’t have that uncomfortable feeling when holding this ball. There is however, one problem.

The design and paint on the ball comes off very easily but the ball itself is very durable.

My son was very happy to receive this football. We inflated the football and realized the air came out super fast so we repeated. By the second day and having to inflate the ball numerous times we realized their must be a defect with the hole or material.

We had purchased another football from another store foe my other son which we had no issues. Overall we are not happy with the product and it is basically useless if it doesn’t stay inflated.

I bought this for my son and he loves it. His friends and him play with it all the time. He says it is very comfortable to grab and to throw. Very durable. Highly recommend for any football lovers.

My boyfriend is a star football player. He uses the Cowboys Football to practice with his friends in the yard and sometimes at the stadium. Every now and then he will throw me a few balls. This particular ball has a great grip which makes it easier for me to catch.

I would definitely recommend trying NFL Dallas Cowboys Football. It’s the perfect ball to use your buddies and also the girls in your life.

I purchased this for my 8 year old son for Christmas. On Christmas day after he opened it, it was half pumped with air so I got my needle and pump to pump it up and the hole was not lined up with the cover and there was no way to pump it up so we returned it.

I did not notice it when exchanging it until we got home but second ball was exactly the same way. No way to get a needle in it to add air so I returned this one. On the third try the hole was lined up because I checked it before leaving the store but the ball needed air and when I got home and tried to insert the needle it popped the hole out from alignment and it ended up being just like the other two so I am now on my third ball with the exact same problem.

I know these are not real footballs and they only cost $10 but they are total pieces of junk and obviously poorly manufactured. I’m sure overseas like everything else. The people at Dicks were very nice and let me exchange it for a little bit better ball that was actually higher priced and did not charge me the difference.

Feel like everytime we go to Dick’s in our area we only find Texas or Texas A&M collegiate gear. Really excited to find a Texas Tech youth ball for a close friend of the family’s son. All he wanted was his own Tech Football.

Loved I didn’t have to order online and was able to find at the Dick’s by my house.

The football looks great. Good size for my 4 year old which I was concerned about. Also a good size for my husband to toss around so it’s a double win!

Very cheaply made. poles were cracked when I received it. Holes and buttons do not line up. The listing says set so I thought it would be 2 goals but only received 1. The page description needs to be more accurate.

Great fun for my two grandsons who love football. Our set was missing the cones the package details said were included but they refused to agree to return it because they wanted to practice field goals.

My suggestion is open the package upon arrival to make sure all pieces are included in package.

I bought this for my 4 year old son for Christmas and he loved it. However, the holes that were drilled for the posts do not line up correctly. The goal post is functional but the goal is crocked.

The absolute perfect size for my little guys! We have the smaller versions, but we wanted sonething the next size up. The coloring is perfect, thr pattern is perfect. There are no obvious issues with the ball and we cannit wait to play with it!.

For the price this is a great football. I found it at Five Below. It feels sturdy and seems like it will be used for a good bit especially for a toddler. Even older kids if they want to practice at home.

If they lose it or it gets destroyed it’s not a total loss for $5.

The footballs were ordered for a school program. They arrived quickly and have been of good quality. The students are having a “ball” using them.

Would be nice to package with smaller ball to coordinate with the size of the outfit. But it’s a great ball!

Cute football. Seems appropriate for all ages. It was smaller than I realized, but that is my problem. Be aware that you do have to inflate the ball. Some people complained that ball doesn’t inflate properly.

I did not find this to be a problem. The directions specify that the needle needs to be moistened prior to inflating. I followed these instructions and the ball inflated perfectly.

This football is no doubt the best football made when it comes to kids (or adults). Lightweight but not too light, great gripping surface, and very easy to throw spirals. This is our third one over the course of about 6 years.

I think I like throwing it as much as my young kids do.

This is the third gripper football that my grandson has had and I bought him this new one for his birthday per his request. The boys, ages 9 and 12, love them. They are so much easier to grip, throw and catch.

My family loves this game! They have been playing it daily since Christmas. The interactive aspect of the mini football to “kick” keeps the youngest entertained and the easy to follow yet complex enough to enjoy play cards keep my oldest and husband happy.

My son loves anything sport related and still loves board games. It’s fun and entertaining for all!

We love this football! Its the perfect size and weight to learn to throw and catch for smaller hands, and the routes on both sides are ingenious! Well-designed and good quality. Would highly recommend.

Perfect ball for kids. Soft, easy to grip and throw. I have three of them and have taught over 20 kids how to throw a football using this!!!! A+

I have purchased 5 Leather GSTs over the past 2 years. I had a deflating issue with our 1st ball. Since then, I added a few drops of glycerin to the inflation needle prior to pumping to the new footballs.

This helped the inflation needle glide into the stem, preventing punctures, cracks and stretching. All of which will lead to air leaks. No more deflating issues since using glycerin. But, I am truly disappointed with the quality and detail of these footballs.

Especially the smaller balls (pee wee and junior). The noses on these footballs are hideous! Some have bigger underbites than a British Bulldog! The sewn-in stripes aren’t flushed at the seams because the leather panels are so badly misaligned during construction.

It is troubling to think that these leather GSTs are made in the United States, and even more troubling to think that whomever is inspecting these doesn’t see a problem with defected or irregular footballs prior to leaving their facility.

Leaders at Wilson, managers, quality control personnel, factory workers. you have to do better.

So I have established a reputation of being the cool uncle and maintaining that reputation is a top priority of mine. That’s why I decided to go with this miniature football. This ball did not disappoint and my reputation as the cool uncle is more solid than ever! After I got this football I immediately started playing inside the house which of course is against my sister’s rules but what is she going to do to me? I’m a grown man that has proven myself unresponsible in determining what is appropriate for inside play multiple times so she knows what she’s getting every time she invites me over.

My nephew loved this little ball. We had a great time playing with this ball until an errant throw sent the ball into a lamp but lucky no damage was done. More good marks for the football.

My son is in a youth tackle league, and his position is quarterback. For someone in middle school, I’m proud of his thirty yard plus passes that are stunningly beautiful. Such a nice arc and spiral. His bullet passes are scary fast.

Get ready as there’s a lot of zip. This is the official ball of his high school, and also for most NCAA colleges. It’s going to cost you. Yep $100 or a little more, but this is one high quality ball.

The leather and stitching alone, are far superior to replicas and the like. Wonderful grip and the ability to pass this, it’s amazing what it can do in the air. It’s that good. I’m glad to recommend this, and by all means break it in.

Definitely store in a dry place too, as this is one to be taken care of.

My kids are crazy football fast and we so pumped to get this game. I’ll start with the cons: the instructions are extremely complicated. My kids are 9 and 12 as none of us could quite understand. There are a lot of pieces involved to this game.

Pros: the quality of the materials is wonderful, they seem very high quality and the look of the game is really cool, lots of details. I hope we can try again and figure out how to play bc the set up is fun.

It’s hard to keep kids too interested in board games given all the electronics – but my son does love football. He was excited to try this and enjoyed coming up with plays. But I don’t see it getting a ton of use honestly.

If you had two kids who were both really in to the playmaking strategy stuff, maybe it would be more fun. My husband didn’t want to play all the time and none of his friends are that in to football. Game is good quality.

This is actually not a bad ball, but I didn’t feel like the “grip” rating on the box matched the grip that the ball had in comparison to other Wilson balls that are a little bit more expensive, so I returned it.

With a lot of footballs, for some reason, they have some sort of surface protectant added to it and you need to wash it off, or prep it, prior to playing with it. So that’s what I did. It helped a little bit but not a lot.

Unless I actually sprayed some tack spray on it, I couldn’t grip it the same way that it’s supposed to be gripped, therefore, there’s no way you can actually throw the ball correctly. If you spend a little bit more money, you could get a much better grip.

Or you can spend a lot more money and get the best grip.

Wristbands look great. The Dri-Fit material is just what our team wanted. Something that would breathe. Purchased 10 and realized after 1 week of play that the call flip is horrible. There is only one small velcro strip at the bottom.

After you place on your forearm and actually start playing a sport, it will not stay closed. So this flap is constantly in the way. One was ripped off completely during play. Was told to contact the Manufacturer.

I wish there was a way to tighten it up some. It’s so loose that it doesn’t stay in place. It says youth, but is definitely meant for much older youth than 10/11 year olds.

I really like these wrist coaches a lot! The Velcro is durable but not overpowering to the girls when trying to flip open to another card. the material is great and keeps cool on their arms. just wish there was more variety in colors and they were not so expensive so we could get some for the whole team in team colors!.

I think we got this as a Christmas present for a nephew a few years ago. Our youngest started club soccer as a U11 this season. We got this to help him train a little better. The problem is that for a little guy the cord is so long that it doesn’t really offer a lot of advantages to coming back.

He can’t use it in the house and he’s better off just bouncing a ball against the well.

I bought SKLZ Star Kick Solo Soccer Trainer two practice in my backyard and I was really surprised by how well thought the design of the tool was. You can set up different passing or shooting drills without worrying that you have to chase the ball.

If you are alone and have a little time and space and you love soccer this is great buy.

Bought this on whim for my 9 yr old. She loves it. Uses it daily. Great also for indoor use in winter. She loves it so much she wears it for hours which encourages extra touches every time she needs to go somewhere in the house.

Makes a great gift, we’ve gifted 2 to teammates already. This is the best. The cord has worn a bit and it twisted now but I feel that is from her 24/7 use of it. No complaints. I recommend it.

I was looking for a smaller football for my son and I to throw around and these one is perfect! It displays the love we have for our favorite team and has created countless memories so far with many more to come.

We bought this for our son who needed a youth back plate. He’s used it for a month, and so far so good. I took off one star because it does not include hardware to affix the backplate to the football pads.

For this price point I expected it to have the screws to attach it. I had to make an extra trip to the hardware store to make this useable. Other than that it does its job and gives my son added protection.

I bought this for my son who practices everyday after school. I can’t get this back to the store because he needs to use it and weekends have been tough to get back. The padding is fine. The screws on one side came out.

They are small & hard to install. So now this backplate is only a few weeks old & we’ve had to duck taped it back together for the time being. Ugh, such a pain!.

Arrived quick and looks good. Does not align perfectly with the shoulder pads however zip ties has been keeping it in place just fine.
